Building a new brand that's designed to connect

Why we rebranded HappyScribe — and how our new look reflects our mission to break communication barriers and bring people closer together.
Today marks a new chapter for HappyScribe — one we’re incredibly excited (and a little nervous!) to share with you.
We’ve evolved a lot over the past few years — from a simple transcription tool to a powerful platform that helps teams transcribe, translate, and localize audio and video content with accuracy and ease. We’ve introduced new products, expanded into new industries, and worked with some of the world’s most forward-thinking media and content teams.
So, it was time our brand caught up.
Today, we’re launching a new brand identity for HappyScribe. A fresh look. A clearer voice. And a renewed focus on what really matters: helping people connect without the barriers that typically get in the way— formats, languages and borders.
Here’s why we made the change — and what you can expect.
Why change?
Our old brand got us far, but we needed a clearer way to show who we are and where we're going. Over time we'd grown beyond transcription. Our customers were using HappyScribe for much more — from producing multilingual documentaries to scaling podcast workflows to building AI models using training data we helped annotate.
We realised we needed a brand that better reflected:
- The breadth of our platform — from transcription to translation and localization
- The quality and reliability our users depend on.
- The humanity behind the tech. (Because beneath the AI is a bunch of sharp, creative humans — and we’re fun at parties— or at least we think we are)
- And most importantly, the people we build for — media makers, creators, researchers, educators, and innovators who are shaping how we communicate.
What’s new?
Three new products
Alongside our new brand, we're also launching three new products— each designed to solve real problems for real people working with audio and video content.
- Notes— your meetings transformed into meaning. Notes is our AI-powered meeting notetaker— designed to turn spoken conversations into structured, actionable summaries.
- Localize— Localize makes video localization effortless. With AI-powered transcription, translation, and subtitling and dubbing tools, you can take your content global without compromising on nuance or quality.
- Studio—Studio brings all your subtitling, editing, and collaboration tools into one seamless interface. Whether you’re a solo filmmaker or a post-production team, Studio helps you polish your content and get it ready for any screen, anywhere.
Each of these products has been designed with the same principles that guided our rebrand — clarity, care, and a deep respect for the content and people behind it.
We're excited for you to try them. And we're just getting started.
Our new logo
Our new logo might look simple at first glance — but there’s meaning behind every curve.
At the heart of the design is a subtle nod to the brackets used in subtitles: [music playing], [laughter], [applause]. These are the quiet cues that make audio and video content more accessible, more inclusive, and more human. They ensure that no part of a story is lost — even to someone watching without sound, or in a different language.
We loved the idea that something as small and structural as a bracket could say so much about what we do.
So, we built that concept right into our icon. The form of the logo evokes an open bracket — a shape that’s welcoming, versatile, and full of potential. It represents the tools we create to help people understand and be understood, across borders, industries, and formats.
And just like a subtitle bracket, it’s there to support the story, not distract from it.
Oh, and keep an eye out for a hidden H. Can you see it?

Our new color
A color that speaks volumes. One of the most noticeable changes in our new identity is our primary brand color — a bold, modern hue that’s full of personality.
We chose this color not just because it looks good (although we think it really does), but because of what it represents.
In a world of grayscale interfaces, corporate blues and AI purples, we wanted something that felt distinctly HappyScribe: vibrant but grounded, expressive but calm. A color that captures the balance we aim for every day — between technology and creativity, between precision and emotion, between machine intelligence and human understanding.
Our new color is designed to:
- Stand out in a crowded space — making our product instantly recognizable.
- Feel fresh and digital-first — reflecting our roots in software and AI.
- Add warmth to our voice — because even though we work with cutting-edge tech, our focus is always on the people using it.
We think color should do more than decorate — it should help express who we are. And this one does just that.

Our new moves
Our new brand (like our industry) isn't static— it moves.
We work in one of the fastest-moving industries in the world: AI. Every week brings new breakthroughs, new tools and new ways of working. Motion is how we reflect that momentum— a reminder that we're always evolving, always iterating, always building.

What’s not changing
While our look and feel have changed, our goal has not.
We remain committed to helping people understand and be understood, across languages and borders. Whether you're improving your productivity at work, writing subtitles for a documentary or building the next great AI— we're here for you.
And that brings me to my final point....
Thank you!
As you've probably gathered by now, this rebrand has been about more than just visuals - it's about how we make people feel, and how we want you to feel when you interact with HappyScribe.
To our users: thank you. Truly. None of this reflection and evolution would have been possible without your trust, your feedback and your belief in what we're building. We hope this new chapter feels just as thoughtful, useful and human as you deserve.
And finally, a huge thank you to the brilliant team at How&How, our creative partners throughout this journey. The craft, clarity, and care behind this work is a testament to their talent — and if you’re ever thinking about a rebrand of your own, we couldn’t recommend them more highly.
