We offer transcription and subtitling services by combining AI with the expertise of language professionals to create a 5-star product. We're working on one of the fundamental problems of this decade: speech-to-text technology.

We're just 10 people at the moment, but growing fast and profitable and we're building the team thoughtfully and with a lot of care.

About the role

We have ambitious goals and we’re looking for a Business Development Manager to help us achieve them. We want to reach €10M ARR in 18 months, which implies growing at 9% MoM. Breaking into B2B will be the game changer: we’ve been working with multiple businesses and want to develop a sales department to proactively hunt these customers.

As a Business Developer at Happy Scribe you will be in charge of building a sales pipeline and all the processes that go with it … from scratch. As one of our first sales employees, this position offers a lot of perspectives depending on how well you perform. You’ll get to:

  • Shape the future of Happy Scribe’s Business Development.
  • Develop commercial acquisition strategy by; Identifying and researching high-end sales targets in France, Germany or the UK. Understanding customer needs and buying cycles. Helping develop our enterprise/business offer by listening to prospects' feedback.
  • Develop relationships with prospective clients while deepening your relationship with existing clients.
  • Generate your own pipeline (using inbound and outbound leads) and convert your prospects into customers.

What you'll bring

We are looking for exceptional individuals to join our team and believe that they can come from anywhere. We’re excited about people who are already experts in their fields as well as people who are not yet specialised but show high potential. By “high potential” we mean people who have demonstrated the ability to ramp up quickly in a new domain and produce results. Extensive CVs and endless cover letters don't impress us. Driven people that have skin in the game do. We are looking for:

  • 2+ years of experience in B2B/Enterprise sales.
  • You love selling and are really ambitious.
  • You’re product focused. You know how to listen to your clients and suggest product improvements or new features based on their feedback and needs.
  • You are fluent in English and French*. Bonus points for German. *Note: if you're not fluent in French, but speak other languages fluently and are a great fit, we still want to hear from you.
  • You have a strong entrepreneurial mindset you enjoy being scrappy and can creatively think of multi-channel strategies for attracting new clients.
  • You care a great deal about your work. When something is off it's almost offensive to you.
