In South Korea, K-pop stars have Fame, fortune, and millions of female fans.

A hidden world where videos of women being drugged, raped, and humiliated Rock 'n' Roll! Their crimes would never have been revealed had secret messages between them not been linked. This is a story of those who tried to bring them to justice.

The story starts with Tong, who'd risen to Fame with ballads like Amy.

With an edgier image than the typical K-pop star, he was hugely popular with female fans and critically acclaimed.

In September 2016, news broke that Tong's girlfriend had accused him of a sexual offense..

Cheung is questioned by the police, but they never examine his phone, and he thinks he's in the clear. But three years later, someone with access to Cheung's phone data decides to leak it. It eventually reaches journalist Kang. The video of Keung Mi wasn't there, but Kang found videos of Cheung with other women shared on a chat group with his male friends on popular messenger app, Kakao Talk. Also in the Kakao Talk group was Chae Jong Hun. He played lead guitar for a K-pop rock band, FT Island, and was given center stage in their stadium concerts. But the biggest celebrity in the chat group was mega star, Seung Mi. He had become famous in the K-pop supergroup, Big Bang, and also had a solo career. Kang begins going through the celebrity friend's Kakao Talk messages from 2015 to 2016.

Messages showed Seung Lee procuring prostitutes for potential investors in his business projects. Onechat directly incriminates Jong and Chue in sexual crimes.

The woman had been gang raped by Jong and Chue, with other friends and members of the chat group present.

As Kang trolls further through the Kakao Talk messages, she finds news as to why this group felt above the law.

Seeng Lee was using his contacts with police and wealthy investors to open bars and clubs in Gangnam..

Within days of the opening, Jong was recording molca on the premises, sharing it in a direct message with another friend. The friend's ambitions continue unchecked. And in 2018, Seung Lee launches a major new club. The club was located in the Meridian Hotel in Gangnam, now derelict. When it opened, Burning Sun was the most prestigious nightclub in South Korea. Former employees spoke to us on condition we concealed their identities. They were MDs, short for merchandisers, who would make sure there were girls in the club to cater to VIP guests..

She goes to the police to report rape. The man claims they had consensual sex using the photo as evidence. He was allowed to leave Korea. In January 2019, Seungli's empire is dealt a public blow. Ctv from outside burning Sun shows a customer beaten up by club staff as police stand by. Then, a shocking case of Mulca surfaces, filmed inside Burning Sun, and known as the Red Bath video. It goes viral on porn sites. Under pressure from the police and media, Burning Sun closes its doors for the last time. Kang knows the phone data from the informant which incriminates Seung-li and his friends could now become a huge story. She publishes the first part of her investigation, Exposing Seung-li.

It's not long until she exposes Tong and Chetou.

As more arrests are made, the scandal is becoming increasingly divisive, stoking Korea's tense gender politics.

Women hold a series of protests, calling for the police to do more to protect them. Some men claim they're being unfairly targeted by feminists.

Since publishing the stories, Kang has been heavily trolled.

The court sentences Tong to five years for gang rape and for taking and distributing mocha.

Chae is sentenced to two and a half years for his part in the gang rape. And Seeng Lee is convicted of obtaining prostitutes for investors, embezelment, mocha, and inciting violence. He was sentenced to one year and six months. But former club staff tell us little has changed.
