Hi, this is Troy Polamalu and you're listening to Fantasy Football podcast. Welcome to the Fantasy Football podcast with your host, Andy Holloway and Jason Moore and Mike. Right. Oh, come in. Andy, Mike and Jason, the fantasy footballer, is back with you. Monday, October 5th, the roller coaster ride continues. We've got an extra Monday Night Football game here. Oh, yes, we do. And we're excited about that fact. Oh, yeah, I'm super excited.

[00:00:58]

A little perturbed. They went with the overlap. I understand that, you know, look, the prime time, the ESPN, ESPN game, they actually did move it back. I don't know if you guys realize that it starts like 40 minutes later than it usually does.

[00:01:11]

I have to admit something. Oh, no, this was my fault. Oh, you like the scheduling?

[00:01:17]

I asked them to overlap because my wife said that any more football and we were going to have we're going to have words. So I asked for the overlap so I could I could watch them both. I'm sorry, but I'm sorry. You got to go back and forth unless we bust out like some 1992 PIP technology. You guys remember the remember picture in picture 18 19 Pip? Yeah, Pip was the jam.

[00:01:40]

It was like the smallest. Oh yeah. Most useless screen in the bottom left corner. But you could move it now. You can move it to whichever corner you want. You got it. Hard time figuring out how to get a certain channel. You want it in there. Sometimes you pick something you didn't want, you would just be pipping the exact same channel you were already. Oh yes. You were in. You wanted to see it a little smaller.

[00:02:02]

Yes. Keep zoom in on there.

[00:02:06]

Oh, but we do have two games tonight and that's good news because despite the fact that Cam Newton is not available, I'm sure, you know, you've been following the news and we thought maybe we wouldn't have a game. We thought maybe we wouldn't have a Saints Lions game. Turned out there was a negative a false positive test for for the Saints.

[00:02:28]

So. You know, it's something where you wake up in the morning and you receive the information that you have no control over and then you make the best adjustment you can make.

[00:02:39]

Yeah, and this morning, the Tennessee had the first day where their tests were negative. Congratulations. Yeah, get it together, man. Well, the nice thing is in Rappoport, I heard him on Sirius XM this morning saying that basically if the tests are good from here on out, they'll be playing the bill. So hopefully it can rearview mirror that.

[00:03:01]

Yeah, it's just it's an unfortunate situation. But fantasy football players, you know, were removed from the realities of I mean, the health and safety of the players and the communities is the most important thing. We are reacting. We are a fantasy show.

[00:03:16]

All of our advice is related to how you get your league functioning the best way possible during a an unexpected time in our league, much like the week before when we thought that we might have a Tuesday night game for Tennessee, Pittsburgh, or I guess that was this this past week we thought we were going to have it. We've made accommodations in all of our leagues for alternate situations. Should have a game tonight. We're excited about it. Um, you know what I'm excited for?

[00:03:45]

What are you excited for? Monday. One day.

[00:03:49]

A lot happened yesterday. We like to react in in the most punny way possible all the way to handle the pain.

[00:03:58]

Oh, this is pretty good. We're all Henderson. Yes. That one was directly from Mike Pittman. Right. What about Malcolm? Every down Brown?

[00:04:09]

He certainly was. That's unfortunate. And then D.J. No more D.J remorse. Cedi Biyombo MTD Real Joy Mixon. Oh it's a simple but true. It's a eight kids. All goes a long way man. Why did I read that one. I don't know Miles Blender's. Canadian mistake, Kenyan mistake. Oh, no, Blake. OK, so we went from Potti Miller to Oh Hoti Miller, Scottie to Hoddy, this is the best we had.

[00:04:54]

Brooks It was a rough week for the puns, apparently. Look, there are a lot of we had about 600 submissions. You could have Glen Canyon Canyon Flake again.

[00:05:04]

Yeah. How are you feeling, Jason? I don't want to be here. Hold on, hold on, hold on. Every last week you had a nice fantasy week. You went six and all of your leagues, all of your picks and predictions, they worked out and you were feeling good.

[00:05:19]

And that was on top of the world. You beat me in fantasy last week. Sending me into a tailspin crushed me. And yeah, I was I was where you were last week. Now, this week, I got like, you know, Odell Beckham junior scoring a touchdown a minute. I've got Joe Mixon throwing three down. Hello. And then you didn't have the same week. You did not stay the whole day. No, I.

[00:05:42]

I took off a little bit early and, you know, because Kenyon Drake and you go to McDonald's on the way home.

[00:05:50]

I did not I ate sushi last night. I said if I'm going to if I'm going to eat my pain away, I'm going to at least do it was somewhat healthy food. OK, but yeah. I mean, look, Kenyan Drake, I issued my apology about halfway through that game. It's no help, no hope for a seventy five yard touchdown run and know how the game said. I mean, it didn't look good. The, the, the, the play designs didn't match what he was doing.

[00:06:16]

He looked slow. I don't get it because I remember watching, you know, the first week looking like he made some special moves. I legitimately I'm going to go back today and I want to watch all of that.

[00:06:27]

I can tell you some of what's going on. Kenyan Drake plays some of what's going on. It's an X's and O's problem in Arizona. What they're doing is they're spending a lot of time on early downs, run down situations instead of giving the ball to Kenyan Drake. They don't have Max Williams, the run blocking tight end and they're throwing wide receiver screens. They're running through the air, as we say, and by running through the air, of course, I mean, being tackled behind the line of scrimmage.

[00:06:51]

These wide receivers are in the wide receiver screen game. It is gone south for Arizona over the last two weeks. The offense is completely discombobulated and the prescription is the New York Jets next week.

[00:07:02]

And which makes this Kenyan Drake situation all the more difficult for the prescription was the Carolina Panthers this week?

[00:07:09]

Well, no, I think that that's one of those narrative over reality situations. Carolina was a team, new pieces, new coach, new quarterback, and they won the previous week. We only have a three game sample size in Carolina. They're probably better than we thought.

[00:07:23]

They were sure as a team, but as a run stopping defense, they were the last place all last year had second to last place so far this year. We've definitely seen enough to know that. Well, that's true.

[00:07:34]

Detroit, the week before, worked on running back defense and Drake did nothing there either. Yeah, you want you want to know the prescription, apparently for bad run defenses. It's the Arizona Cardinals. So we'll see this week against the Giants. But I do agree with you from a fantasy standpoint. One of the biggest problems is the targets aren't going there. I mean, this is a this is a player that the previous season when he was involved on the Arizona Cardinals was on a great three down pace.

[00:08:01]

You know, it was a it was a player that was targeted 70 plus times on a sixty game, sixteen game pace. And it's not happening.

[00:08:10]

This perhaps the walking boot was not precautionary. Perhaps his foot is messed up. Just just saying, like, we we forget just a couple of weeks ago, Kenyon Drake was walking around in the booth. It's a good point. He also went out injured at the end of the game. He did. Three minutes left. You will find out for sure, because I guess not for sure, but Kenny Drake took a really hard shot. We have to wait on his injury stats.

[00:08:36]

We haven't heard anything out of Arizona yet, but Chase Edmunds will be a hot waver pickup. And if Chase Edmunds is the starter next week and is good, I think you have your answer about what's going on with Kenyon Drake. Well, I mean, yeah, it's process over results. I mean, you're not going to hit on every single player and AJ Green's one. I'm not going to hit on either.

[00:08:58]

I mean, AJ Green, I want to have a fantasy retirement ceremony on Wednesday.

[00:09:04]

Oh, Kiran. All right, players. Now, I, I'm trying to toe that line of you know, for fantasy players. These are not dead to me, dead to me type of mentality. This is a fantasy retirement. They play for their professional teams. They may contribute here and they're. But they're done for fantasy, there are a number of players in that category this year, and AJ Green is most certainly one of those players. Yes, he is.

[00:09:26]

All right. Find us on Twitter at the fallers. Jason's at Jason FFL if you want to console him at five hit man. [00:09:55]

Weekly rewin. All right, Cam Newton is on the reserve covid list after testing positive, he's unlikely to play in week five against the Broncos.

[00:10:07]

Correct. And it is Brian Hoyer who will be the next man up. The game, like we said, it's tonight, Sony, Michel, out of tonight's game, Davante Adams out. Yeah, this is a fun one, the Davante Adams, where he was questionable. It really seemed like he was threatening to play. There are mean you actually have a couple more options now of because of the Kansas City and New England game being pushed back to tonight.

[00:10:37]

Now, you could be like me. I was all in on Davante Adams playing.

[00:10:42]

I needed to do what I needed him to play, so I will be making a last second waver move, probably grabbing like DeMarcus Robinson, Robert Tonin, maybe JJ Taylor, we'll see who actually ends up on my roster. And then we will be crossing our fingers and praying for miracles. Yeah, Adam seemed unhappy that the team was holding him out of tonight's game. To be honest, they're undefeated. He's had injury history, lingering issues before, I think.

[00:11:11]

If there's any doubt about his health, it's probably the best news for him. Yeah, for fantasy players, this week was rough for Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.

[00:11:21]

They were are now without their top two wide receivers. Jason's taking it up to one hundred player.

[00:11:27]

He feels like a good play, but the pressure is going to be on Marquese Valdés scantly since you named him, as you're taking it, to one hundred player.

[00:11:36]

They have lost Helena Zade for six to eight weeks, and then Davante Adams has ruled out he's taking it up to 100 as far as on the depth chart. We'll see what happens when he's the only thing now that the defense has focus on. Did you see that, Drew?

[00:11:49]

Sample did not take it to 100 percent catch rate this past weekend.

[00:11:52]

I did see that. I believe he caught that touchdown. To be honest. He had another another.

[00:11:57]

But I'm focusing on the touchdown.

[00:11:59]

Nick Chubb exited the game early with a knee injury. Cautious optimism, OK, from the Browns that he did not suffer a catastrophic knee injury. MRI is coming today. At that point, we'll find out whether or not he's going to miss some time. Seems hard to imagine he doesn't miss a week or two. Agreed. Austin Ekeler is the more serious concern. If you watched the injury. It's being reported as a hamstring injury, some a hamstring and a knee MRI today for Ekler.

[00:12:30]

Mike, you described it yesterday.

[00:12:31]

He could not even get on the cart. Yeah. So he finished off to play like an absolute manimal. I mean, he was he was hopping through on one leg until they brought him down. He was down for a very long time.

[00:12:44]

You could see in his face that this was this was not not good. He gets trainers and people to help get him off the field, has to take a break while walking off the field. Then the cart shows up and he can't even get up onto the cart. That's how much pain he was in with his hamstring. So, I mean, just optically looking at the man and, you know, not a doctor, but Austin Ekeler is going to miss a lot of time.

[00:13:13]

The Packers wide receivers tonight, Marquese Valdés scaling. Tyler Irvin, Darius Sheppard. Malik Taylor. Yep. Sounds about right. So those are bringing the names up because if you have to do that last second grab. Yeah, MVP's is probably not available. Shepard would be my next dart throw simply because he got a target last week. Step one in like Robert Tarkanian the he was at least five for fifty with a score last week. I think there's a very large chance, obviously this doesn't help for four waivers.

[00:13:47]

But we saw this with, you know, when Michael Thomas and some of the injuries happened to the Saints, it was all Kamara in the dump. Oh, yeah, it's Aaron Jones. But we're saying four people out there who are just scrambling to figure something out. All right. OJ Howard tore his Achilles out for the season, according to Bruce Arians. So down to Cameron brate Rob Gronkowski, five touchdown passes for Tom Brady yesterday to five different players.

[00:14:16]

One was Keyshawn Vaughn, one was OJ Howard. Yeah, that was a nice one, too. Was great. It was nice. Looks good. Noah Fant, the reports are that he will be sidelined for week five. That was a weird injury because he didn't seem like he was in pain but was being carted off, but then they said it was minor and now he's going to miss another week.

[00:14:33]

And he came back at one point and then now he's gone for another week.

[00:14:37]

If you'd like to trade for Rob Gronkowski, Jason, that is. Oh, that offer is available to you.

[00:14:42]

That is not interesting. Also, for the record, I would not like to Ross Rob Gronkowski, if not for the fact that I read from the waiver wire.

[00:14:50]

I know I have him because I know, but he tells the situation. All right. Kenyon Drake injured late. Kingsbury said hopefully not anything major. We talked about it. Tyler Ifrit, a concussion and the other big news broke.

[00:15:03]

Anything new coming through now?

[00:15:06]

Yep. All the coming through is what are you eating back there? You just like them some granola. It's just bad timing.

[00:15:15]

No news is probably the worst.

[00:15:18]

Trying to get over that Cowboys game yesterday there was one live just about.

[00:15:24]

Yeah, the Cowboys. My goodness. There's wild stuff, man, Wild West, start your players against cowboys, that's that's what you got to do. Also start the Cowboys, all of them, apparently as many wide receivers as they have played them.

[00:15:38]

All right.

[00:15:39]

Before we get to the stud Muffin's one, are they today's sponsors? Also for glamour, what we want to thank simply safe home security. They're keeping us safe. You know, we've been talking about simply safe. We're always talking the praises of the home security company because they keep us safe. They keep Brooks safe, all of his, you know, jewelry, his really expensive things that he likes the bling. He was just dripping wet. Yep. Always shiny. That's Brooks. His model always, always, always be shiny and always be protected.

[00:18:07]

This week's fantasy stud Muffin's. OK, let's talk about the things that were fun. Yes, yes, yes, well, was it fun? Was it fun for. He says he would trade those hard stats for a win, 41 for fifty eight for five hundred and two yards, four touchdowns. And they almost did it again. They were well, it was a 41 to 14.

[00:18:32]

Yes. And it went down to 41. Thirty eight before the Bakken play.

[00:18:36]

Unbelievable, man. Cowboy games were so fun. Right now I'm not probably not for cowboy fans, but for football fans. They're very fun. He has sixteen hundred plus yards of four games.

[00:18:47]

That is the record. And what is this pace. Oh that's a good question.

[00:18:52]

I mean, I think it's six thousand five hundred.

[00:18:56]

So I think it was 6700 was what I saw. Yeah, that is amazing.

[00:19:00]

Nobody has ever thrown for 1500 yards before in the history of the NFL since.

[00:19:06]

He's on pace for Smyslov hundred yards. I mean, Dak is is he the let me ask the question, do you want him as your fantasy quarterback over everybody else?

[00:19:18]

And I mean that for this rest of the year, based on, look, the recipe for a banner year, it always comes down to it's the quarterback play, but it's also the defense. And this defense is atrocious.

[00:19:29]

And I know that we have that same recipe for us, but we also have a history of Ross being a little bit more up and down the dak. We also have a history of Seattle figuring out their defense, they have got a great coach. I don't think Seattle's defense is going to stay terrible the rest of the way, the same way, I don't think Minnesota's defense is going to stay terrible the rest of the way. When you've got a really good defensive minded head coach who can rally his troops and get things together and in them Cowboys deck feels like the number one guy moving forward.

[00:20:01]

It's incredible.

[00:20:02]

Tom Brady without some of his major weapons in this game. Thirty four. Forty six, three. Sixty nine and five.

[00:20:11]

But oh, man, the plant man comes out and drops a five touchdown game.

[00:20:18]

The chloroform was flowing. He is the oldest player to throw five touchdowns in a game.

[00:20:25]

Is the oldest player to do everything right. Yeah. Any time he does something that is like pretty good, it's like is the oldest guy ever do that? Is it am I right that they have the Thursday night game. Yes. Against Chicago. Yes. OK, so we'll see what he does on Thursday night.

[00:20:39]

Short week, Tom Brady, big, big week against the Chargers, who held Patrick Mahomes in check but could not hold Tom Brady in check. Mm hmm. Teddy Bridgewater. Yeah, man. Got to play the Cardinals without Bootmaker. And it was not pretty for Arizona. It was it was surprising a little bit just how bad the Cardinals defense was. Did they make them? I think they made him punt once.

[00:21:05]

I think they scored touchdowns in the first, you know, four possession now, next.

[00:21:10]

That being said, it can't all go on Arizona. Carolina, like you said earlier, they're surprising. They look like a pretty decent offense. And this has been without Christian McCaffrey. That's been the key right there to a.. Without McCarthy. That's right. You know, so next week they play in Atlanta. You can keep rolling in the heat of the of the Panthers. The problem is it's Robby Anderson, not D.J. Moore. Yeah. That that part does suck and hurts my feelings.

[00:21:40]

But we did we highlighted last week of the regressions coming for Teddy Bridgewater of how he has all these yards, but he just didn't have the passing touchdowns and add in a sensational 20 yard or whatever was rushing touchdown. Teddy Bridgewater is a very strong streamer next week. All right.

[00:21:59]

The stallion. Oh, Josh Allen keeps it going. Excellent. He had another rushing touchdown. A couple passing touchdowns. Yeah.

[00:22:08]

When you said you feel like Dak is the number one guy, I feel like Josh Allen should, you know, at least be entering the ring. He can be in the ring.

[00:22:18]

I think there's, you know, five guys who are all vying for that number one spot here. Josh Allen has been great. Cayler, even when he's sucking, is still good because he runs the ball scores, rushing touchdowns. Obviously, Russell's there. And then how can you discount Mahomes and Lamar? So you've got some real, real heavy hitters at the top of the quarterback position right now.

[00:22:41]

Lamar, bounce back seven point fifty three and a touchdown. Big run in this game. A couple of passing touchdowns to Mark Andrews, Justin Herbert, a really impressive performance against Tampa Bay's defense.

[00:22:51]

Twenty four. Twenty five to ninety in three. A lot of people played, you know, Jared Goff this week as a substitute quarterback.

[00:22:58]

Yeah. And Justin, herbal tea. I don't blame you. The matchup was great, but Justin Herbert put up a big performance and the arm talent is what impresses me on a weekly basis with Justin Herberg man. When he throws a DePaul, it is a pretty looking deep ball. Yeah. And there was a wild stat that I had heard all of his touchdowns went to undrafted free agents. Wow. So just getting it done and like I mean, I guess we're ahead of ourselves here, but we didn't really talk if Austin Ekeler is out.

[00:23:33]

Holy crap. Keenan Allen is going to see so many targets. I mean, he already is. But it's like where do where do the missing targets go? They go to Keenan Allen. All right, Joe Mixon helping him have a game, Joe, have a game where you receive twenty five rushing attempts, one fifty one and two and then six targets caught all six passes. All of the fab that was spent on Gio Bernard before the game will be donated to a charity of Joe makes his choice.

[00:24:06]

That's true. But this was the this is a number one running back on the week. It absolutely was. Baltimore, Indianapolis, Cleveland. That's what's coming up for Joe Mixon. I think I know where Andy stands because you're Joe you are the captain of the of the Joe Mixon train. Jason, would you be trading Joe Mixon right now? I would certainly be seeing if I can if I can capitalize on a monstrous game and have every league has that one player who just is so recency bias on the last week that you could trade him like he's the best running back in all of fantasy football.

[00:24:43]

But I do think, you know, what this shows is that. These players who are getting a ton of volume and disappointing because it's easy to think about this today, but yesterday morning people were more worried about Joe Mixon than they were about Kenyon Drake. And then all of a sudden, one great game cures everything. You hold on. You don't you don't look to unload. But if you can capitalize on the hope of, you know, his ceiling, then if he hits your fine and if he misses you're you're happy you traded him.

[00:25:14]

I think you hit on a key point for fantasy players. Don't exchange the volume that makes and is getting more anomalous, lower volume players, multiplayer trades where you're not getting. It's hard to get guaranteed volume. And when you have thirty one touches, he was already in the top five in terms of total touches heading into the week, which is why Jason made the argument about things looking up. Because when you have opportunity, great players who just got paid, they generally have great they make great place at some point in time.

[00:25:45]

So Baltimore, Indianapolis, those are two really tough matchups. So it's not going to be this good every week, but it's nice to see it happen. Dalvin Cook twenty seven for one thirty and two. He's very good. Yeah. Melvin Gordon. We talked about it Thursday night, took it to a thousand with a couple of touchdowns.

[00:26:03]

Yes he did. This game was impressive. Chris Carson. Mm hmm. Sixteen four eighty two touchdowns against Miami in a game that was kind of lower scoring. He really was a difference maker and we didn't know how he was feeling coming into the game. Well we weren't sure, you know, is he going to play?

[00:26:20]

Is he going to be the starter? And then he he got injured at one point through the game. And then, of course, Carlos Hyde was out. He did not. So, you know, they both cropped up on the on the injury report. Turns out that Carlos Hydes was legit because he couldn't play football. So this is another one of those I think you could sell high here on Chris Carson. That's a monstrous game. He is up.

[00:26:45]

I think I would. Yeah, because this is a game where Carlos Hyde was gone. He had to be the the every down guy here, but he himself is banged up. My point is, I think you can get a lot for him. And I don't think he's going to always be playing without Carlos Hyde, my Chris Carson, Joe Mixon, Restasis, Chris Carson. Latavius Murray had a couple of touchdowns, 14 opportunities on the ground.

[00:27:12]

They had a big lead and Latavius was all right in this one. I think he's just there to annoy fantasy players. Yeah, I'm not reading into it. How are we burying this guy? Antonio. Gibson Mike, how'd it feel to see Antonio again? Well, it was very bittersweet because I wanted to bench Antonio Gibson and my advice on the week was to bench Antonio Gibson. And here's where it was difficult, because during my process of Antonio Gibson was, what is his ceiling, 40, 40 something rushing yards and a touchdown.

[00:27:47]

And they haven't unleashed him in the passing game. That is exactly what I said about him. Where is he? Forty six and a touchdown. But they finally gave him five targets. He came through with a huge receiving play.

[00:28:00]

And I don't know if that's that. If the I don't know if you can count on that every single week because Steven Sims was out. Yeah.

[00:28:07]

So but I mean as as one who has loved Antonio Gibson since the draft, it was pretty awesome to see it.

[00:28:15]

Seven total targets before this week had five in this week alone against Baltimore. You are going to run into unpredictability with Antonio Gibson because the offense is it's inefficient, the quarterback position, you could see change over the course of the year. But Gibson himself is a very talented player. So you can always take a shot with him as a start and end up, no matter what the matchup is with a big game. Did you know that Dwayne Haskins had over 300 yards and a 70 plus completion percentage?

[00:28:49]

Stats are for losers, Mike. That's all I have been told that according to Booger McFarland stats are for losers.

[00:28:57]

It is. He should have led with the Dwayne Haskins stat on his stats are for losers, Tweek, because that one seems ridiculous. Yeah, it just. Everyone plays Four Corners and those soft underneath coverages. Mike Davis is very good, apparently six. He genuinely looks good. No, I'm saying he like he is. This was this was a guy who was on Chicago, had the starting job, and then they drafted David Montgomery and then they just cast him aside, just like they did with Jordan Howard.

[00:29:31]

And now Mike Davis is like the most elusive running back in football. He is absolutely crushing with his opportunity right now. Those who paid up to get him off the waiver wire are celebrating.

[00:29:45]

And Salana next week, he did play Arizona, but the week prior he looked good. And I think he's going to have another great week. That being said. You picked them up off the waivers, did you need him, in which case, great, you're happy, keep starting them. Did you just snag him because the value was there and you've got other good running backs. Go to the Christian McCaffrey owner and try to sell him for a season long piece because you've got about another week left.

[00:30:12]

Once Christian McCaffrey comes back, Mike Davis is nothing but an insurance option. They're not going to, you know, be like, well, now that you've played well, let's go 50/50 split with our, you know, most expensive running back of all time. Christian McCaffrey is going to inherit this role.

[00:30:26]

I was going to ask you that question. If you thought there would be an easing back in period for Christian McCaffrey off the injury, there will be a little bit.

[00:30:33]

Yeah, I mean, a little bit. You're going to see, you know, four or five more touches for Mike Davis than you would have beforehand. But, you know, once Christian McCaffrey is back, it's it's his game. You're not going to even have the potential to start Mike Davis again unless a reentry. So my point is, if you've got him and you can capitalize, turn him into something that will be more than just another week or two.

[00:30:55]

You can't I'm a Christian McCaffrey manager that if if if in our league someone came to me offering Mike Davis, I would take a strong look at going, OK, I might give up a legit piece that could help someone rest a season.

[00:31:09]

For Mike Davis, it is a situation where if you do have CMC and Mike Davis, you know you have a start. Exactly. All right. Kareem Hunt. Eleven for seventy one and two touchdowns Chubb knocked out of the game. Hunt was questionable going into the game. Looked good, ran for another seven, Akari, because he's Kareem Hunt, is Hunt locked in as a top ten running back off? Chubb is out.

[00:31:34]

Yes, I mean, he's you could almost argue he's a top ten running back with troub in and so great. A great start to the year. Yeah. Without him, you hunt is as good as it gets out there.

[00:31:47]

Jerick McKinnon. Nice to see him succeed. Eight targets, seven catches, fourteen for fifty four and a touchdown on the ground. I believe McKinnon has scored in every game.

[00:31:56]

So far in twenty twenty, so the return of Jaric recorded is a two year effort by him to get back, it is just you are correct, he has scored in every single game and it's like this is an unbelievable feel good story. So cool of your boy. Strong he.

[00:32:14]

Yeah he apparently is. Yeah. Man, it feels it really does feel like I'm happy for the man because that that kind of two year struggle, he was, he was going to be a my guy that year and then poof got injured and never we I don't think either any of us thought we'd see him again. Well, I'd probably be. If Moster comes back next week, it'll be Mostert and McCannon and against Miami. Agreed. And both are probably start working in that game.

[00:32:39]

I wonder if once Coleman comes back, is it still. I think Coleman's buried that. That's what I'm wondering. Is he behind McKinnon now? All right. Wide receivers. We've got some players to talk about. Oh. BJ. Eight targets, five, four eighty one, two touchdowns through the air, two, four seventy three and a touchdown on the ground, saw somebody tweet about the fact that Beckham scored three times at a monster game and Baker didn't even play well because he ran one in court, one from Jarvis Landry, who threw a dart.

[00:33:12]

Yeah, it's because stats like the words bro Boomer Esiason out there, a boomer referee.

[00:33:18]

It's the only lefty.

[00:33:19]

I mean, you can go Mark Brunell, a boomer. What do you want to do? Matt Leinart, come on. Yeah. Southpaws throwing the ball into the end zone. It's going to get a boomer reference. Fair enough. Which is different than Bougere be. Let me be clear. Yes, right. Very different. I would grant Vick.

[00:33:33]

That's a strong point. That's a strong point. I was much really, really silly. Matt Leininger. That's how deep we're going here. I went back. I went back a little bit. Did. All right. All right.

[00:33:46]

So now, Beckham, do you sell high on Odell Beckham? Well, you asked me that two weeks ago, right? And you said no. Yeah. So I still say no. The reason being is is a great offense right now. This is an offense that Kevin Stefanski has worked into something that works, which is not what we expected to see in Cleveland. So we'll be back to be a high volume player for your team? Absolutely not.

[00:34:12]

Never will he be a player that can win you a week every two or three weeks and still give you some type of floor? I think so.

[00:34:19]

I think this year that's the truth. Yeah. Very, very high variance player this year. Yeah, I agree. I happen to think that the next two weeks will be on the low variance of variety, two of the most difficult matchups out there in the Indianapolis Colts and the Pittsburgh Steelers. But, you know, he's he is he looks like him like we were talking this was early in the game before he just blew up while we were watching.

[00:34:44]

He looks good.

[00:34:45]

He looks like he's also the most important play. The game for him was the two yards last touchdown and the fact that they drew up a goal line opportunity for Bascome Godman ISO and then threw him the ball. That was a problem last year. Amari Cooper. Sixteen targets. He's been amazing. I mean, it's funny because sometimes we're watching these games. We feel like he's kind of disappearing. He's, you know, whatever. But fourteen targets, nine targets, twelve targets, sixteen targets.

[00:35:15]

He got the breakdown for you three or four weeks if you want it. Let's go back through four weeks. Sixteen hundred and ninety yards. Gallop has two hundred and seventy five of them. That's only sixteen percent. Cooper has four hundred and one of them. That's twenty four percent. Lamb is at three oh nine. It's eighteen percent target wise. Cooper's at fifty one. Lamb at twenty nine. Gallop at twenty four. When you are in perpetual catch up from the first minute.

[00:35:38]

This time we just annoyed if you're saying Dak is the number one guy that because the defense like Amari Cooper is the number one benefactor from this, he's currently on pace for one hundred and forty eight receptions.

[00:35:52]

So that won't happen.

[00:35:54]

But that's really my what more could you ask for?

[00:36:00]

What did Thomas catch last year? What was the what's the record. I will look that up. You remember that Brooks. The total. I can't remember the exact number. I can't remember either. OK, all right.

[00:36:11]

Uh KD Lamb seven targets, five or seventy nine and two. You will not be skipping over my man shark and his. Oh it's nine targets, eight for ninety five and Deuce. Welcome back J. Yeah that's great to see. Have a game. Also the record was one hundred and forty nine receptions. Yes. And he won't break it. Mm. Yeah.

[00:36:31]

Only one foot DJ Cha. Great to see the target totals honestly. I mean the touchdowns because of his size, you know we had seen it a couple of times to start the year but that nine targets coming down with eight of them. Houston, Detroit. This is Jātaka Chark time. Yes. Chakri yeah. Tark weeks maybe Cedi Lam uh, Keadilan. Michael Galbreath. The season Cedi lamp's KD lamb. I mean good.

[00:36:57]

He's a really good player man. Yeah. I look I loved Michael coming in to draft season. I think I still think Michael Gallop has a fine season. But if I have to pick one of those two guys, Cedi Lamb. You know, there's a reason that one of these guys was a first round pick and super highly touted, questionable, if he should be the number one wide receiver taken in the draft that wasn't Gallop when he was coming out.

[00:37:21]

And usually it takes a little bit more time. It the time line is over city limits and they in it's just where they get in the ball.

[00:37:30]

I mean, Michael Gallop is his like yards per catch is over 20. I mean, he's having the higher risk throws where lamb is down in the 14 range, getting the slant route, getting to run with it. You just have more very Gallop is going to have good games, like you said. It's just going to be hard to predict. All right. Other big plays at the wide receiver position will fuller seven targets, six catches, one away and one.

[00:37:54]

I'm going to take credit.

[00:37:55]

I've decided I've never pivoted. I didn't pivot. No, I look, he's healthy. And when he's healthy, he's gotten double digits, three games while he's been healthy. Six four, one, eight and one.

[00:38:09]

Meanwhile, yes, Brandin Cooks I, I, I he ran forty routes according to what I read and was not. Yeah.

[00:38:19]

He should be able to he is he on Wednesdays retirement ceremony is that goose is at the very back of that flying V you know what I mean. Like yes. Yeah.

[00:38:29]

Like, I mean he could, he's the extra goose on one side of the V that you don't need.

[00:38:33]

But theoretically he could move to the front if the hamstring. What was the voice of the hamstring.

[00:38:40]

Oh it was oh. Becomes sweet. He was, the hamstring was ok. Yeah. Mike Evans is pretty good.

[00:38:51]

Seven for one. Twenty two and one. Well limping around the field which he pretty much might as well just start doing. Maybe if you can you hurt yourself if you pre limp. If you look before, I mean, if you walk with an unnecessary limp, yeah, that's what I'm saying. Maybe that's that's not a good way to. To break it down. Oh, my goodness. Breaking news, Nick Chubb has been placed on the air with an impossible injury.

[00:39:20]

So that's three games, minimum furniture. So Kareem Hunt. Oh, brother.

[00:39:27]

Oh, brother. Yeah. Oh, brother. Oh, OK. Allan Robinson.

[00:39:34]

Ten targets, seven for one on one and one. It was entirely. Oh, the God.

[00:39:42]

Let me let me say two things. One, it was entirely garbage time to Nick Foles is just as bad as Mr. Risky. Three, Allan Robinson deserves better on every level. Every catch he made was a catch that I feel like him and Keenan Allen or, you know, a handful of players in the league are the only ones that can make the catch because these Nick Foles targets were disgusting. Oh, he mosta dude, that didn't count because it was going to be an interception, but he just went up and caught it behind him out of the end zone.

[00:40:14]

But yeah, I mean the thing is, is it was really upsetting. You watch that last drive and I remember the commentators even saying, like, you know, why weren't the bears playing like this the whole game? And and this is not the Bears was the Colts fans were just letting them Ding-Dong dunk their way down the field and that was fine with them. It is a scary proposition. You're not some teams like the Cowboys, you're you can garbage time starts one minute into the game and you're good, but you're not going to always get garbage time like that.

[00:40:44]

So it's a little concerning.

[00:40:46]

Let me let me ask you a question. Put these three players in order who you'd rather have on your roster rest of season, OK, because they all have a little different narrative. All right. Odell Beckham Jr.

[00:40:56]

OK, Allen Robinson and Terry MacLaurin, who has fourteen targets this past week, seems rather matchup and quarterback prove to a degree. Put those three in order, Terry would be number one for me, and then I would probably go Allan Robinson, Odell Beckham, I will go Terry Allen, Robinson, Beckham. And here's the thing about I really like your order. Your order was fantastic. By the way. I apologize for not complimenting you earlier on it.

[00:41:27]

Here's the thing for Terry McLaurin. He's doing all this with Dwayne Haskins. And I know the numbers for Dwayne Haskins did not reflect the majority of the game.

[00:41:38]

There is a world where Kyle Allen comes in and things improve dramatically for Terry McLaurin compared to what he's dealing with, with Dwayne Haskins, for Allen Robinson. There's no improvement, it's Nick Foles, because that's the same sentence from last week, it was like there's a world where Nick Foles comes in and things improved dramatically for Allen Robinson. Yep. But Nick Foles is a he is who we thought he was, which is a man who hit some like the Tinkerbelle came through, sprinkle the pixie dust all over him.

[00:42:11]

And he had a magical half season and a Super Bowl run. Other than that, Nick Foles has been. Not a starting quarterback in the NFL. I had a hard time this past week deciding whether to swap Allen Robinson and LBJ and then, you know, when Robinson had about two catches, three quarters of the way through the game and Beckham had thirty eight fantasy points. I was saying, wow, Beckham's the right play here. And then Robinson comes back at the end of this game.

[00:42:38]

It's going to be interesting to watch those those three Kittel decent game. Oh, my goodness. Fifteen targets, 15 catches one. Eighty three and one. Oh, my goodness. George Kittle.

[00:42:48]

I mean, really back up for 16 that he should he should have had that. Oh, you're calling the Lajon. Oh, OK.

[00:42:56]

I thought you meant as a target. Yeah. No, I'm just saying I thought you were talking about the Hail Mary.

[00:43:00]

Oh man. That would have been awesome. He loves backup quarterbacks, if you remember his his record breaking season, that was a big month for 10 of those games, I believe. So, Nick, George Kittle, I feel like he can go into the huddle and look him in the eye, like, give me the ball, throw me the ball right now.

[00:43:21]

Give him like, oh, OK.

[00:43:24]

OK, George, take it easy. But when it's 100 percent catch rate, you're allowed to say that. Just keep doing it. I'm not disagreeing with him. I love the way that when Kiddo catches the ball.

[00:43:36]

It's a minimum of three tackles that he breaks like those first three people, you have to break those tackles before you tackle them. Mark Andrews, three catches. Fifty seven and two. It's the same recipe for Mark Andrews, Dalton Schultz for four seventy two and one start of the week. Now, did he get hurt in this game you thought he got. He came out. Is he OK?

[00:43:55]

I have not seen an update. He was grabbing his hamstring, I believe, but I haven't seen any news on how severe that injury is.

[00:44:05]

All right. We've got to talk about some stank. Stinkers of the week presented by odor eaters, and it needs some real odor eaters power for some of these guys.

[00:44:19]

Yes, biggest disappointment of the week. Can you drink at the quarterback position?

[00:44:26]

We'll get there. We already got there. We led the show with that garbage.

[00:44:30]

Jared Goff, 25 for 30 to just 200 passing yards, one touchdown. And this game was not fun to watch.

[00:44:37]

No, it was not so bad.

[00:44:40]

Bill Jones was awful. I mean. Yeah, they both threw for two hundred or fewer yards. The Rams offense has been just chugging along. I mean, they've looked great. They went to Buffalo and even after they got off to a slow start, they just went nuclear. And and then they get to play the Giants. Did they just take it, take the game off? Well, here's the problem is in those games, Jason, where you alluded to them going nuclear, having a really high powered offense, the engine of that offense was Darrell Henderson.

[00:45:17]

And apparently the hot hand was every down Malcolm Brown because Darrell Henderson said what was his final stand like? Carries.

[00:45:27]

He was never on the field. Well, what happened? I don't know I don't know either. So we thought he was hurt. I saw man dancers McVeigh, you saw him sitting on the bench and he for whatever reason, we thought maybe we had more clarity in this situation than we did. Some of these other committee backfills the Tampa Bay situation. No. Now you're sitting here going, I can't start anybody. Yeah.

[00:45:54]

Carmakers comes back soon. Who's it going to be? Man, that was upsetting. But yeah, golf as well did did not look great for fantasy. Kenyon Drake, we talked about it. I don't know what you do going forward with the Jets on the schedule next week.

[00:46:11]

If he's healthy and active, you probably if if he's healthy and active, you start off unless you've got a better option. I mean, you know, if I'm talking about James Robinson or Kenyon Drake, I'm going to be putting James Robinson in my line.

[00:46:22]

What about David Montgomery, who had a struggle this week with Nick Foles? We thought it might be better for him in the passing game. He did see six targets. He was out there. Yeah, but Montgomery plays Tampa Bay. Can you drive against the Jets? Who do you start? Between those two, I would I would start Kenyon Drake because of the matchup, you're going to talk about the Colts great defense and the Jets wink defense. All right.

[00:46:46]

I'm taking I feel like we've been set up with Drake.

[00:46:48]

I know it's a great matchup in a row. Here he is recommending Drake again. Oh, I scrub that.

[00:46:57]

Scrub it. I'm just so upset. I am hurt because. Yeah, because I was very confident in in Drake. And then we get the Holmer bias line of like, oh, it's because you're a Cardinals fan, which is I was incompetent and I'm not taking a victory lap over that.

[00:47:15]

I'm just saying like it wasn't all we were all like, Drake's going to have the number one year of the side and neither were you.

[00:47:20]

I mean, I've been a Drake truth or since he was a doll. And if you little baby. Yes, since he was a Bama, this has nothing to do with him as a cardinal. No.

[00:47:30]

Now and it's a mess.

[00:47:31]

Jonathan Taylor, what if you have a question about Darrell Henderson, why in the world is Jonathan Taylor getting sixteen carries in the other two running backs, each hitting nine, Jordan Wilkins nine carries ninety nine carries. Yeah but on those nine carries for Wilkins like. Incredible yardage, right? One point seven per carry. But what about Hines to point something? Precarity? What about Taylor? Oh, he was like for Kerry. Well, I mean, he got 17 carries, so it's not like.

[00:47:59]

But there so here's the problem. Is there sporadic, like Jonathan Taylor is a is the the big body prototype running back that you give him the ball. If you're if this is your play style, you gave him the ball over and over and over Marshawn Lynch style.

[00:48:14]

Because after you to paraphrase Marshawn Lynch, after you run through somebody's face enough time over and over, they don't want to get in the way anymore. And that's who Jonathan Taylor should be. But if you just give him two carries here, then you throw in Hines for a while. And I know we're just fantasy football guys, but it's like this is not this is not the optimal way to utilize Jonathan Taylor's skill set. I agree with you to a point.

[00:48:42]

And if this was the playoffs, I'll bet you that the entirety of the team agrees. But this is early in the season. This is a centerpiece of giving him fresh. Yeah, absolutely. There's no reason to take this rookie in games that you're winning handily and the other team can't score on you for three straight weeks and say, let's run him into the ground. I think they're doing the right thing. But I have been concerned with what I've seen from Jonathan Taylor as well, or disappointed because I expected him to do more with the touches he's getting right now behind that offensive line than he's been doing.

[00:49:15]

Myles Sanders. Thirteen for forty six against the forty Niners. Four targets, two for thirty. I don't really it's hard to run without an offensive line. Yeah, I'm not I thought Miles Sanders looked independently good on every one of his touches. He does have Pittsburgh, Baltimore coming up. So it's going to be a rough few weeks with no other weapons on this team.

[00:49:35]

Miles Sanders It just it is what it is. I mean, he's he is a true three down running back.

[00:49:39]

And you'll you'll get bad games. You get bad games from basically everybody every once in a while. Yeah.

[00:49:44]

This is one of those games where I thought he looked better than the stat line ended up, to be honest. Sure. Josh Jacobs. Fifteen for forty eight for targets for Josh Jacobs as Myles Sanders. When you see Jacobs get a get a carry and when he's not smothered in the backfield this this guy is fantastic. Just didn't come through for.

[00:50:03]

Are we are we worried at all though because you know, he hasn't been a top twenty back in the last three weeks. He was obviously the number one back week once. So we just you know, that that week one is like he's the best thing ever. But it's three disappointing weeks in a row. And we saw this last year where his touchdowns came in games where it's like he gets two or three touchdowns and then they win the game or or he he's just not great for fantasy.

[00:50:31]

I'm not concerned like you're just going to keep starting them. But they'll be disappointed.

[00:50:36]

Right. A little bit disappointed. Yeah. I mean, they they're not winning right now, these last two weeks. I like that he's getting more consistent reception totals. I think all four games, he's had at least three catches. And last year he only did that a couple of times. But yeah, I he's somebody that needs to probably get into the end zone in these games. He's not giving you the matchup proof game right now. The thing for disappointed, like Josh Jacobs and Miles Sanders is who are you going to start over those guys right now at the top there, there's a pretty tight cluster of, you know, six, seven guys who are who are the every week auto start but who like who are you grabbing to start over?

[00:51:19]

Josh Jacobs? I think it's people that you've already grabbed, the James Robinson, the Mike Davis, these players. Do you do you put them in ahead of some of these people who have been disappointing or do you keep rolling with the high draft, the guys who are getting the touches? And I think that's a difficult decision. It's not it's not cut and dry as we go. Antonio Gibson, if you're drafted, Antonio Gibson late and you have Josh Jacobs, are you willing to play Gibson over him?

[00:51:44]

No, no, no, I'm not either.

[00:51:46]

Because it's funny because the both teams, Myles Sanders and Josh Jacobs, they have no wide receivers. It's like Josh Jacobs and the Raiders have Nelson Agholor, who the Eagles once had and probably desperately wished they had, was thinking about that last.

[00:52:00]

I was like, the Eagles logit probably don't like him. I wish we had Nelson Aguilar.

[00:52:05]

All right. Joshua Kelly had an awful ball game. Yeah. And this was you know, Ekler went out and he also fumbled again, he did, but then he was still on the field. I was paying attention to that, seeing are they going to punish him? They didn't, but he just stunk. Nine catches, seven yards and a fumble yuk in.

[00:52:27]

Justin Jackson was active in this game. Yeah, he got six catches, but it was six catches for nine yards. So tomorrow. We'll be talking waiver pickups. We'll have to discuss Joshua Kelly and Justin Jackson with Éclairs injury and the Earnest Johnson with the troub, the guy that was in there for the Cleveland Browns. Getting a ton of around and looking great. Yeah, I won't hit the breaking news button because it's very ambiguous, but it's Chargers running back.

[00:52:53]

Austin Ekeler Speak of the Devil here suffered what is considered a serious hamstring injury. While no firm decision will be made until all the analysis is done. Injured reserve is the likely landing spot, it seems. Yeah, yeah. But it's just a weather. He's gone for the year. Yes. Wide receivers that had some stinkers this week. It's a it's a big group. Tyler Lockett. Oh, that one is shock to four thirty nine, the number one wide receiver going out there.

[00:53:24]

And YEUK David Moore was the guy to have apparently in the shocking game or six targets. Four catches. Forty nine yards. Yep. No touchdowns for four weeks into the season. If Jason can apologize for Kenny Drake. Look, I am D.J. Moore is not coming through with who I believed he would be. The process for me, like it didn't factor in enough. The transition of to Teddy Bridgewater and Bridgewater goes to Robby Anderson, who is the number one wide receiver for Carolina, DeAndre Hopkins.

[00:53:57]

I don't it's hard to say.

[00:53:58]

It was nice to get out here. Seven catches.

[00:54:02]

Nine targets. Yeah. As the Jets, Dallas and Seattle. Robert Wood, seven targets, six catches. Thirty five yards. It was another Cooper Kupp week. Supercops had a couple of big ones in a row. Offense was struggling, Goff was struggling. Gallup, we talked about worried about him, there is a geriatric stinko section on today's show. Oh, no, this is pretty much the the players that save them, then we'll say, well, you know who they are.

[00:54:30]

We'll save it for the retirement ceremony. All all of them are in that list.

[00:54:34]

Tight ends. Tyler Higbee, just three, four. Twenty one in this game. Four targets. Are you worried about Tyler Tyler Higbee? Absolutely. I mean, Gerald Everett has been on the field just as much as getting targets, is getting handoffs. And some days it's going to be in Everett game. Some days it's going to be a Higbee game. You have to be a little bit worried. It's just that's the nature of what you've seen from this offense.

[00:54:58]

And they're going to make the defense keep guessing, right? I mean, we thought it was going to be Darrell Henderson game. They can go to different wide receivers. Is it Cooper? Is it Woods? They can go to different tight ends. They can go to different running backs. And that is not fun for fantasy. So the tight end I am worried about I brought it up to you guys right before the show started. I have him in quite a few fantasy teams.

[00:55:20]

But Zach Ertz, Zach Ertz so far has been a top ten tight end. Once all the other three games he has finished 15th or worse, a try a player you drafted in the fourth or the fifth round. And the situation for Zach Ertz is exactly what it has been for him when he has thrived before it was Zach Ertz is a volume guy. If the wide receivers around him are hurt, the offense funnels through Zach Ertz. He becomes the main guy.

[00:55:52]

And I relate to you guys. I'm watching Zach Ertz because he's on my team. I think he's washed. And I know that he is a bowl. It is a bold statement for a player of his age, but he is he doesn't get open. The reason the volume is not going his way is because he's simply not getting open. And they had Carson Wentz has to find somebody else, which often translates into the tight in two on the team.

[00:56:22]

So I like what let's OK, I'm I need some therapy here. I drafted Zach Ertz in the fourth of the fifth round. He has given me one performance out of four. Yeah. How do I keep just banging my head against the wall with Zach Ertz when guy because you don't have a choice in that. You don't I mean, you can't start. Look at some of the potential starts of this past week, like Rob Gronkowski, one for twenty nine, Jimmy Graham who for four thirty three, Mike Miccosukee, one for fifteen of the time.

[00:56:55]

What about Evan Ingram.

[00:56:56]

He had ten targets. What did he put up. Six for thirty five. Look when you're when you have a choice when Zach Ertz is putting up four receptions for nine yards. Yeah. I guess everybody else is bad.

[00:57:05]

Jimmy Graham line of four for thirty three looks pretty sweet. It is. I know that you were watching with the close eye and it's almost impossible to argue with you when you look at the depth chart at wide receiver. These are the four games that Zach Ertz should be taking advantage of it and you end up with four four nine and now we get Pittsburgh and Baltimore. Yeah, I was going to bring that up. It's a rough couple of weeks here.

But but I mean, I did try to reverse the curse last night, and it looked like you did a valiant job, that's as far as you can reverse a curse with me and with that wide receiver, Korda.

Kurson wins stinkers of the week presented by odor eaters, odor eaters, the best in foot odor defense.

[00:57:51]

Brooks would like it known that DeAndre Hopkins seven point forty one is officially a stinker by his standards, which I suppose if you are not in a four point PPR league, that is a forty one yards.

[00:58:04]

That is a stinker, the presumptive number one wide receiver. All right, we'll give it to you.

[00:58:09]

We'll give it to you. Yeah, OK.

[00:58:12]

We want to thank Pristine Auction for supporting the show.

[00:58:15]

They've got a special auction for NBA finals week. Everything starts at twenty dollars with no reserves last through Thursday, which thankfully the NBA finals will last beyond that date thanks to the Heat actually winning a ballgame.

[00:58:29]

They did use the code ballers to get a ten dollar credit at pristine auction dotcom, if you want to participate in that or check out any of their hundreds.

[00:58:38]
