The next time you are standing in a line at a store, I want you to just not reach for your phone for five to 10 minutes and just be with yourself and be with your thoughts. You're going to start to feel agitation. You're going to start to rock back and forth. Because your body is used to being stressed and busy, you have trained yourself to always be distracted and disconnected from yourself. We reflexively reach for a device that connects us to the world and disconnects us from ourselves. Your brain is so used to being connected all the time, to looking at something all the time, to answering the emails, to sending that text, to not knowing what to think about. So you got to distract yourself with social media. This is a huge problem, because if you can't stand in that line for the five to 10 minutes and not look at your phone, you have work to do.
