let's go, baby. Let's go. Hi, everybody. It's Wednesday night. I hope you're. I hope you're in for a great game because it's going to be awesome. Tonight is going to be sick. Tonight is like the game of games for the Leafs so far. This is the Atlantic Division matchup. This is the top of the division, and you're about to watch it. Let's. Let's just, let's just talk about the stakes here for a second. Okay? Okay. So the stakes are this. Toronto Maple Leafs have played 21 games. Florida Panthers played 22. The Leafs have 28 points. The Florida Panthers have 25. Okay. Now the Leafs, even if they lost, would retain the top of the division. But let's talk about it in real terms because you could. Sure. You get to keep the top of the division. That sounds all great. Oh, it's so cool. Good for you. But you didn't beat number two. You didn't beat the former Stanley cup champions. And this is a test. And this is why we picked this game to stream, because it's going to be a test. And here's the other fun part about this and producer Hayden before this, he's like, this feels like a Leafs loss, man.

[00:04:26]

I don't know what to tell you. The reason he feels that way is because the Peng or the Penguins. Ha. The Panthers have lost four straight games. They should be in first. They were in first. They have been in first. They're not in first anymore. That's a problem for them. Paul Maurice apparently stopped practice the other day and yelled the f word like 15 times. That's what the reporters are saying on the ground. Guys, I'm telling you, this is an exciting, exciting game. No Auston Matthews for the Toronto Maple Leafs. So this is going to have to be all guts. Oel Stolers and Steven Lorenz all got their Stanley cup rings today in Florida, which has got to be extremely exciting. And then they're going to jump on the ice and they're going to play this team. And this is a team that they won with those three players and they're going to come home well and they're going to feel either, you know, one or two things when they get home. Hey, we did a great job in Florida or we left a lot of points on the table in Florida. Because here's the thing, the matchup doesn't get easier.

[00:05:29]

Even though there's a good little time frame between, you know, the Leafs and Panthers and Lightning and Leafs. You want to get all four of these points. You want to at least get three of these points. Two of them is passable. But you got to beat the Florida Panthers. You got to beat the Florida Panthers. What's up, everybody? I'm so excited to be hanging out with you tonight. I hope. I hope we have a good old time together. I just, I'm saying go Leafs. But I'm sure there's plenty of Panthers fans in the chat as well and we are going to have some fun. And listen, I know that we had started this as like it's going to be a Monday night stream. So I've changed that. The reason I've changed that is that I think that the Leafs are really good and there's a better than zero chance that some of the games on Monday night were not going to be that great. Let's be honest, a couple of them were just dead in the water. So we switched to this and that means we got a schedule coming out for you. And the next game, I can already tell you, will be next Wednesday against Nashville.

[00:06:32]

It was supposed to be Monday, but I'm going to Monday's game now because I'm a billionaire rich guy. No, actually we had some friends who gave us some tickets, but we get to go see Connor Bedard in person and then we can catch up about it on. On Wednesday. You and me. I hope everybody is great out there in Gripper Nation. I'm gonna look for. Okay, Cassie. Me in the chat all night? More likely than you think. Well, Cassie, I. Cassie, by the way, shout out to the Cassie gang. Cassie clan. I know that isn't there. There's a. There's a team plan tonight. I believe they're called the. Is it the Pittsburgh Penguins? Although they play tonight, right? They play the Vancouver Canucks, who are only two points off their pace from last season already. Oh, baby. Oh, baby. Now let's go through the lineups for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Hayden, if you can find it, send me the Florida Panthers one as well because I want to. Okay. He's already sent it to my phone. We got the Leafs one here first. This is. This has not arrived. Sorry. The Panthers one hasn't arrived.

[00:07:39]

So the Leafs one is this. McMahon, Tavares, Marner. That line has been cooking. Robertson, Holmberg, William Nylander. Okay, interesting. Grubenkin, Minton, Alex Nylander, Steves, Dewar, Lorenz. Actually, except. Except for the first line with my man Tavares and Marner. The most stable line of all of those, like the line that's most likely to continue on is Steve's. Dewar, Lorenz. Yeah. It's a crazy mishmash of forwards tonight for the Leafs. McCabe, Tenev are. You know, they're considered the first pair tonight. I don't know why. Riley, Ekman, Larson, Benoit, Timmons and Stallers is obviously going to start because this is his former team and they're going to give him that start. The Florida Panthers lineup, let's talk about it, let's get into it because they're a lot healthier than the Leafs. Evan Rodriguez, Alexander Barkov and Sam Reinhardt. And I think Sam Reinhardt's shooting like 30% right now. It's his shooting percentage. I'm looking that up for you. Sam Reinhardt. Let's look at his shooting percentage right now. It's just bonkers. Where is it? Shooting percentage? 27.6% right now. His shooting percentage last year was 24.5%. Everybody's like, Ah, there's no way he can repeat that. He's doing it again.

[00:08:59]

So that's the first line. Carter Verhege, Sam Bennett and Matthew Kachuk. Second line loose. Ryan Boquist and Mackie Semkevich. And then you got Greer Nosick and Yona Godovich. It's. It's just some new names, but obviously Florida. What's that? What's that? Hayden? No. Anton Lindell tonight. Well, that's kind of a big deal. Gus Forsling, Aranekblad, Nico Mikola, Dimitri Kulikov, Nate Schmidt. And balance is in. So I hope I said his name right. I don't know if I said his name right. I'm really not the best at saying names. Right. But, like, who is right? You're right. Anyway, long story short, we have got a game in front of us. This is going to be fun. And I think what we need to do, I think what we need to do, all of us, is brace ourselves. Enjoy this moment. The Leafs have won the division. And it's interesting because I think Nick Andrade, producer Nick from the CJ show, looked it up. The Leafs have won a division. Oh, My God, this is a really bad stat. Are you ready for this? They've lost or they've won a division six times. 1932-1933-1934-1937. That's four of the six times.

[00:10:21]

The other times were 1999, and they won the Canadian division in 2020. That's the only time the Leafs have won a division. And I have to tell you, where's it got them Finishing second and third in this division. It's not been great, right? What if the Leafs could win the division this year? Maybe it's time. Death Eater 91. Big game tonight. Hoping the boys can pull it off. Agreed. Agreed. Completely. But the stakes are higher than you'd think for game 25. Like, I can't remember a game that mattered this much this year. Except for, remember the Winnipeg game? Winnipeg hadn't lost a single game. It was like they were like 9 or they were like 70 or something. And the Leafs beat him. That was a big test. This team, I'm telling you, Amazing. Now, the anthem, which I see some of you kind of talking in the chat about, that was thin, I should say, but we don't need to be Simon Cowell about it. All right. I hope you guys are ready for a good time. This is going to be great. Bobrovsky, Stallers, basically the flame. The Florida Panthers goaltending tandem going head to head with each other from last year.

[00:11:34]

Isn't that nuts? How do they have both of them? How do they have both of them? It's crazy. And they let Stallers go because they're like, you know what? We need Spencer Knight to do some stuff. It's crazy. Just going to switch my mic settings here. Testing, testing. How's that? That's better, right? Is that better? Anyway, I just want to say how excited I am to be hanging out with you guys tonight. We are going to have the best time. Greg Berube just put a stick of gum in his mouth and we are. Hold on. Face off coming. We already got cross checks happening. Matthew Kachuk, because why not? He's going after Steve's. And the Leafs are starting their fourth line. Here we go. Game has started. Stream has started. Okay, that's kind of wild that he's starting the. The first. All right. This microphone's driving me a little nuts right now. Okay, here we go. Are we ready? Are we excited? Julia wants to know, will the game be on the stream? I can't find it. Somewhere to watch. Well, it's on sportsnet in Canada, but Julia, we don't have a billion dollars, which is what it costs to have hockey rights in Canada.

[00:12:38]

So no, it will not be. You will have to use Yarm 80 plus or you'll have to use one of your subscriptions. Pickleball Patty went for, went to the long term care facility today to visit my wife. Alzheimer's people will watch the game. People there will watch the game tonight. Hats off to the heroes that work there. Agreed. Hey, and I'm sorry about what's happened in your life. Pickleball Pat, it's. That's rough, buddy. But you know what? You going to see your wife, I think is amazing. My uncle, my great uncle Al, his wife had the same thing and he would go and see her every day and he read her poetry, which I thought was very sweet. Adam, you said you're a billionaire and you can't stream a game. Guys, guys, guys. What makes you think as a billionaire that I would spend my money on hockey rights? If I was, if I was smart, I would just buy the team. Then I can see every game and they can fly me around on their private jet. Come on, come on, guys, come on. Listen, if you need to get into the billionaires mentality, I'm your man.

[00:13:45]

You got to start thinking money. You got to start attracting money. You got to start waking up at 5am and going, the first thing you say, not I love you to my wife and or husband or my kids, you got to say I think green and green only. By the way, Matt Kachuk has already got a penalty and it's on Connor Doerr for hitting him from behind in front of the net with no real reason. Haha, that's fantastic. We love that. For no reason. What size shirt do you, Steve and Jesse wear, Cassie? I wear an XL or an L, but mostly xl. And I think Steve wears an xl and I think Steve, Jesse, because he's so tall, might be a double xl. Oh, nice little shot on the power play here. Now this is cool. William and Alex Nylander are playing on the same line on the power play together. And what I'm curious about here, we were talking about it a little bit on the podcast today is where do they have Nylander go? Alex Nylander. And it looks like they're going to have Tavares high and Alex Nylander low, low, right in front of the net.

[00:14:45]

And I think that's a very interesting role for him because that's not really the game that he was playing. But if you look at him, he's standing right in front of Bobrovsky, which is what they've done on this power play. And looks, he's now moved back out to the centerized circle, but he's going to move down. Oh, and he's. Nice little feed from Marner there. Good on him to get open. Just got to be ready for it. That's the thing with Marner is he might not even look at you. You better be ready for his passes. It's going to take Alex a little bit of time to get used to that. Marner's pretty all world with that stuff. Love this opportunity for the Leafs, and I think they really need to take advantage, by the way, because Florida's good and they're going to play them hard. And that's the thing, right? Even if Florida's having a bad game or a bad month, they're going to play the Leafs hard. And look, nice little steal there. Florida out into the leaf zone. Cottontail crafts by Heather. Hi, Adam. Hi, Heather. It's nice to see you. Thanks for joining us.

[00:15:41]

Adam, which team is the bigger tire fire right now, the ABS or the Rangers? So I don't think the ABS are a tire fire, guys. I think they're an injured. So if that's. If that makes it a tire fire, whatever. The Rangers are healthy and they're. And they're still good. They're still 10th in the league. Like, the Leafs were like, oh, they're having a great year. The Leafs are seventh. The Rangers are like 10th. That's bullshit. Let's. Let's trade everybody. That's the kind of level they hold themselves to now. It's. I'll be honest with you, the Rangers are a chaotic organization. They always have been. Bad giveaway by Nylander there, but he's able to get it back. Loose to Ryan. Almost made him pay for that. Thankfully, it was just loose to Ryan. Imagine that was like Barkov or something. Yikes. But that's the kind of stuff you can't do against the Panthers. Anyway. I would say the Rangers are the biggest tire fire right now, and I would say that they're not the biggest tire fire in the league. However, when your general manager sends a literal memo to all 31 general managers going, we'll trade Truba, we'll trade Kreider.

[00:16:39]

I think Lindgren is also on that list. And so apparently is Capocacco. You got to think, oh, that's pretty bad. That's pretty bad. Pens have the lead. Vancouver has them right where they want them. Did Pen. Did Pittsburgh score the first goal? Good for Them. Hey, Doug Lee fan, I've been waiting for you to join. Hey, guys, I'm going to show you something. So. All right, so our good friend Steve. Our good friend Steve has. Good friend Steve has got. Has got this book coming out and Doug gave him a couple of things and I'm going to be quick about this because we're in a. We're still in play here, but we have the Leafs All Star Game program from the year 2000. And I'll tell you something, I believe I used to have a copy of this and I have no idea where it went. So that's one thing. Second thing, class of 1990 record books, they used to sell these because there was no hockey db. So if you wanted to know all time scores for the Toronto Maple Leafs season by season, you would buy one of these every year. And that was the whole reason for a program, is that you wanted to know who was playing and what number they had and what number was on the back because guess what, you couldn't look it up.

[00:17:50]

And they used to not put the numbers on the backs so that you had to buy the program so you'd know the name of the players. Now, Doug, I gotta leave that for a second because Banking just got a penalty and it is sort of a. That feel. Hayden saying that's a makeup call. That feels like a makeup call. I don't know. It's. They called it boarding and he didn't even go into the boards, but. Okay. Okay. Now this, the Leafs penalty kill has been pretty great. 7th in the league is not bad. I'm sure they'd like to see it higher, but it's much better than it was last year. Lane Lambert has come in and done a spectacular job. Steve was absolutely right about it. They also have better personnel than it had last year. It's nice to see Connor Doer back out there. But, you know, Matthew was doing. Was doing a good job on it when he was playing. Nylander was doing a good job on it when he was playing. And then you've got guys like Connor Doerr, David Kampf, you know, who are career penalty killers. It's so much better than, I think what they used to roll out there with hall and Kerfoot and stuff.

[00:18:52]

I just, I say it now. Oop, But I have a lot more confidence in this group and I think that seventh rank will get higher as the thing goes on. The Panthers, though, they have a good power play. It's ninth. James says, hey, Adam, can't super chat as much over the Next while work slows down over the holidays for a couple of months. So I got to save that cash. But we'll still be in the main chats. Let's have a great night. Go Leafs. Go James. We so appreciate you being here, buddy. Whatever. Whatever you can do. And you know what? Super chat or not, Gripper Nation loves and welcomes all. It's exciting. Hey, Cassie just dropped 50 subs. Let's go, Cassie. Let's freaking go. Hey, we got a pull up in the chat, too. How are we feeling about Adam's stash? Hot. Keep it hot, but shave it December 1st. It's for a good cause, I guess. Oh, we got a Panthers goal here. Bark off. Yeah, see, we. We love a makeup call here. Figures too, that. I was just praising the Leafs penalty kill. Jeez. Well, well, hey, Cassie, thanks for sending out that membership.

[00:20:04]

That's amazing. So let's see what happened here. So Stollers is in position for this. It just kind of sneaks by him on, I think on the left side. Yeah, it's just a. Is a well placed shot. I'm not. This is odd, but I'm not too worried about it. Does that make sense? Natalie says hi. Adam. I think that's my Natalie. So everybody say hi to Natalie. Hi, Natalie. It's my wife, Natalie. Robert. Bet. I know some people call me dumb, not just because I'm a Lease fan, but I'm just thinking, could Lorentz be the center, the third line center, when Minting gets sent down with Doer on the wing? I think Lorenz is a fourth line guy. I don't think he's got the finish to play more than about 12 minutes a night. And I think he's perfect in that role. They finally have a functioning fourth line. I think they're excited about Minton, but you have to remember Minton's 20, so it's good that he's going to get 10, 15 games here. But the chances of him coming in and being a factor, say the way that maybe Matthew Nice was in his first playoff run with Toronto.

[00:21:13]

I mean, Nice was. How old was he? He was already. I think he was 20 now. That was a couple years ago. Yeah, so he was 20 and he was a real factor. Oh, that was a terrible giveaway. Backman Larson. Whoa. And that's a goal. It's two nothing for the. For the Panthers. I don't know. Maybe I should be worried. I hate the giveaway. We're just talking about Mitten. There he is on the screen. The Panthers have been Five on five. They've been all over them. So Ekman Larson. Robertson doesn't get there. Oh, my God. Just soft in front of the net. Soft, soft, soft. So Ekman Larson really didn't. I don't know if he gave it away. It was just a bad pass to nobody. Robertson wasn't ready for it. And then look, so Ekman Larson's got his man, but who's got the. Who's got Florida man? Get your Florida man. Find your Florida man. We need, we need this, these lines to get out there and do something. And this is a big game. And we've talked about this for obviously many reasons, this big game, but this is where if you're Alex Nylander, you're Alex Steves, you're Nick Robertson, you're going to get some time to play tonight and we're going to find out whether or not you're ready to play in the playoffs.

[00:22:33]

Are you going to help if we call you up during the playoffs? If there's an injury in the playoffs, are you going to help or are you just going to be a guy wearing a jersey that night? Because there have been a lot of passengers on these leaf teams in the past. Not a lot of role guys. They're looking for guys who play specific roles. And we were talking about, we had a question there in the super chat about Steven Lorenz being third line center. I think Steven Lorenz is a fourth line guy and that's his role and that's set and that's a good thing. I think the issue the Leafs have had is that they've had a bunch of guys that are interchangeable. And that means if you're the master of. If you're, if you're not bad at everything, it means you're not really that great at something. And that's what they had a bunch of, especially in the Dubas years. They had a bunch of guys that were like, okay, but you know, oh, Dennis Malgan's going to play tonight. He's okay, I guess. But you need people that are going to play roles and that's what Berube is looking for here.

[00:23:29]

Obviously they've got role players that are going to come back off of IR and suspension, but damn, this is your chance. It's the NHL tonight. It's got to be tonight. Every night is the night and we'll see what they can do. Now they're already down two nothing. Stallers has looked fine. Just, you know, goals go in, but, oh, here we go. Nice little steal by Nylander. Nobody with him. And this is going to be a big test for Willie because Holmberg Robertson is bonkers. What a freaking lineup. Yikes. Homeberg I feel for. Because I think he's been a little bit. It's been rough for him. Robertson never stops working, never stops hustling. Seems to be just like a total dog on a bone type of player, but it's not been going in. And the Leafs desperately need some depth scoring. Like all this winning has masked the fact that nobody is scoring if they're not online. One or two. So Nylander's line line mates tonight. Hayden just told me have one point in 18 games. It's Robertson and Holmberg. One point between the two of them. Like this. You. We're talking about a tryout here, guys.

[00:24:51]

That's what this is like. Go make this happen. You got. There's a division on the line. Go make this happen. Go win games. Go win games. Oh, do we have a penalty? Oh, hand pass. Okay. Did I miss any? I did not miss any Supers. Okay, good. All right. What's that? Oh, Maddie's in the chat. Hi, Maddie. Me here waiting for the day grown up. Nice slams, Bennett. Well, listen, it's not going to happen tonight because Knives isn't in, but one day it's going to. Douglifin. Is Stoller's cup ring weighing him down? No, I don't think so, but I don't think it's great for the team to be playing this few games over the course of a few weeks. And it's funny, if you go look at the. Okay. Why can't. Why can't the. Okay, So I can't go to mapleleafs.com because apparently the site's down. But here's. Here's what's nuts. Okay, you ready for this? Starting next Monday, The Leafs have 1, 2, 3, 4 games in one week. So that's Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday. Back to backs, right? Hey, Saturday's against the Penguins, Cassie. And then the following week, this is even more bonkers.

[00:26:11]

Tuesday. And then December 12th is a Thursday. And then December 14th is a Saturday. And then December 15th is a Sunday. And the 14th, 15th back to back Saturday. Sunday is back to back from Detroit to Buffalo. So it's back to back with travel. It's a short travel, but it's still travel. And it's a 7pm game on the Saturday and then a 5pm game the next day. So it's literally 22 hours later. And by the way, the Sabers look good. And the Wings are desperate that's not going to be an easy weekend. Yeah. Wow. We get. We are going to get eight games in 14 days after this. This stretch has been a little bit bonkers, but. Eight games in 14 days, baby. Hope you're ready, guys. It's gonna be just silly. Absolutely silly. Shane Beresford, Gifted five SDPN memberships. Thank you, Shane. Robert. Bet we need to see Willie. Alex. Brother rivalry. Keep the Stash. It's better than mine and I've been growing for 40 years. Robert, you're very nice, but I don't know, man. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it or not. I don't. I. You know, they say it takes a proper three to six months to come in.

[00:27:43]

I just don't know. I don't know if I'm a mustache guy. Like, I'm not hard enough. Not hardcore enough, you know? Okay. A little, little offensive zone pressure by Lawrence Steves and Dewar. By the way, it's worth mentioning Steve's can score. He scored a lot of goals in the AHL this year and they need a little pop from those bottom two lines. It'd be nice to see him finish something. I always. I've really liked Doer since he's been back and I love Lorenz. Love Lorenz. Taylor asked me, does, does Natalie like the Stash? If. Natalie, if you're watching, do you like the Stash? Why don't we just answer them? Pierre Luc Dubois. Adam, you were always hard in my books. Perpetually hard. That's me. And that's how Gripper Nation was born. I'm feeling surprisingly relaxed about this. I don't know why. Hey, Jeremy. Jeremy Frulette Lalande has joined STP vip. Jeremy, thank you for joining. It's nice to have a new member. Enjoy the episodes. We just recorded another one today and they come out Friday mornings and then we have our. Obviously our Friday night episodes as well, so. And by the way, you have access to the entire back catalog.

[00:29:06]

And if you want to, you can join VIP ad free, which is the next tier up and watch all of your content ad free. How lovely, Cassie. Adam keeps mentioning a fake tan. I don't know her. A fake team. I don't know. Pickleball. Pat Batty. Have the Leafs and Sabers ever been good at the same time? Yes. Late 90s Cujo. Leafs, hashtag savers. Natalie Drake. Hey, Natalie Drake. Yes, I like the Stash. Thank you, Natalie. Appreciate you. Mike Schmidt. Damn. Mike schmidt just dropped 50 memberships. You got. Oh, here we Go. Oh, Connor Timmons. Almost beauty chance here. So this is. Okay, watch the third line here. This is Mitten, this is Grubankin, and this is Alex Nylander. This is the AHL line. And that was really good. Offensive zone pressure, that's what you want to see if you're Craig Berube. If I'm calling these guys up when there's an injury and the stakes are high, it's round one, round two, round three, maybe round four. Be awfully nice if they could come in and contribute and not just be guy who put skates on tonight, right? It's pretty good, guys. Welcome, Everybody, to the VIP experience.

[00:30:18]

Cassie's dropped 50, we had Shane, who dropped 5, and we had Mike. Guys, thank you so much. That's 105, 106 new subscriptions for everybody. And the great thing is that there's gonna be a bunch of people that get to check out VIP for the first time. And if you check it out and you love it, we would love it if you renewed your subscription to sdpn because we're always working to make it great and amazing for you, and that's just really cool, guys. Thank you very much. Matthews and Knives to return next game. That's a question from Julian, who is always on these dreams. Hi, Julian. It looks like Matthews will. It's hard to know about if. It's hard to know, but with Nice. He's skating. But concussions are weird, man. I don't think they're going to tell us until right before. Justin Fisher, are you excited for Skeleton Crew? Yes. And you know why? Skeleton Crew, Star Wars. No, I'm Star wars break here because we're in commercial. Why am I excited for Skeleton Crew? Because Skeleton Crew is not afraid to admit what it is. It's a child's show. It's for kids. And you know what?

[00:31:30]

Star wars is for kids. And that's why we go back to Star wars, because it makes us feel like what kids. So when people get all hardcore about, well, the lore and the this and the that. Chill out, man. It's for kids. It's for kids. And to be honest with you, I am excited that they are branding this as a kid's show. I'm going to watch the absolute crap out of it. And I can't wait to see Jude Law in it and I'm jacked. It's going to be. It's going to be awesome. Can't wait. James asks, hey, Adam, did you hit 130k on the last stream or was the 130k hit afterwards for SDPN? It was not hit during the stream. It was hit, like, literally right after the stream. It was like hit around midnight that night. So funny. I was like, come on, we can get 30 subs and then we randomly got them overnight. You just never know. Right? Okay, here goes Robertson. Out to Ekman Larson. Leafs are looking a little bit better in the back half of this first period. Nice little shot on net there. If there had been a rebound.

[00:32:40]

Oh, nice turnover by Willie. Down to Robertson. Oh, geez. Come on, Nicholas, Hang on to that puck. Oel with the. Oh, no, that wasn't Oel. That was William Nylander. To Oel Bobrovsky. Come on. Oh, man, that's great offensive zone pressure. That's now two shifts in a row. We had the ah line with Minton Rebenkin and Alex Nylander. Really good pressure. And then great pressure there by the other Nylander line featuring Holmberg and Robertson. Now let's go throw the fourth line out there. Or is it the first line? Who's out there? Yeah, first line. McMahon, Tavares, Marner. And what's great is these guys get to walk on the ice with momentum already. They don't have to create it. They can just extend it because it can't always come down to them. It's got to be other guys. You got to step up, man. I feel bad for Robert today. Like, that was a prime chance to go one on one with the goal and he loses the pockets like, oh, Nicholas. Oh. Leaves having a little trouble clearing. I want their defense to clean it up just a little bit. I think we got an icing here.

[00:33:52]

Nope, waved off. Bobrovsky's handled it okay. Oh, my God. That was bad, too. See, they're not. The Leafs are not clean in the defensive zone right now. And it's. It's the re. The first goal was a power play goal, and it was a great bark off shot. Okay, fine. The second one was bad defensive play, bad defensive formulation between Oel and Robertson. There's just no two ways about it. And it sucks because Oel has been great and Robertson's been trying his freaking hardest. No one tries harder than that guy. And for anybody asking, the reason I do streams during the weekdays. Steve does them on Saturdays. We both do them. It's not just Steve's thing. Ever. Anyone can stream. They're letting anyone do it these days. James Robertson needs a priest to exercise some demons. He's straight up cursed. Yeah. Honestly, Amulet. I think he knows a guy that can get him an amulet. Get him an amulet. Do it. Why not? Hockey players are so suspicious. Suspicious, superstitious. Why not go get an amulet if it makes you feel good. Go score a bunch of goals. I think Robertson is still capable of like 25 goal seasons.

[00:35:19]

I do believe that he had 14 and he played like no minutes last year. Or 15. Was it 15? 15. Okay, here comes the AHL line. Minton, Nylander, Grubenkin, already got a shot. I really like this. These guys, they're working. And by the way, Berube loves Gurbankin. He's. That's. That's a Berube guy right there. Mitten and Eggplant in front of the net is an interesting little battle to watch. I don't think Mitten's huge, but he's going to have to play a bit of a harder nose game with this system. And I'm just curious to see how he adjusts to it. I think he's capable of. Minton is 62192. So he's got the size. That's what Hayden says. He's. He's 62192. He's got the size. Dude. Guy 7 Seven. Adam. Seven. Adam got strong Magnum PI vibes tonight. What do you think? Could I pull it off? Could I. Could I drive a really hot sports car and arrest people? Would you disobey this face? I don't think so. Should have brought my sunglasses upstairs. You should. Honestly, with sunglasses on. Like, if you put aviators on this, it's. It's pretty wild. I might do it on Friday show just because it might be my last day with the.

[00:36:50]

With the mustache. By the way, new episode came out today. They're gonna be a new. There's gonna be a new C.J. show tomorrow. Adam, overall thoughts on Stallers gem or what? Josh? I think I thought he was a gem when they signed him. He's. I mean, he led all goalies in save percentage last year. All goalies who played over 25 games. The fact that the Leafs were able to get them and you look at all the teams that have had goaltending problems, I think of like Vancouver, although they thought Thatcher Demco would be ready. You look at Pittsburgh, you look at Detroit, and you know, they got this guy for two years at 2 1/2 schmel. Wolves contract kicks in next year. Wolves look strong. Stallers will kick in a year after that. But even then, let's say those guys like wolves gonna make four. Let's say Stallers goes to six the salary cap's going to, like, 110 million bucks. So if you're spending 8% of your cap on your goaltending and you get goaltending like we've had this year, you take that every time. You take that every time. Damn. Is it. Hold on.

[00:38:02]

Is it three one? Pittsburgh. Damn. Good for you, Pittsburgh. You go with your bad self. Has Sidney Crosby scored any of those goals? Oh, there it is. Magna P. Oh, yeah. Oh, you put it up. My wife really wanted me to get this. Get. Get this mustache going because she has a crush on Tom Selleck, and she wants it to kind of grow in like he had it. So I. I did go for the. You notice how it. It doesn't stop here. It stops here. So I. That's kind of what I went for. But here's the thing with Tom Selleck. He had darker hair than I do. I think it works if you've got, like, jet black hair, but I've got, like, in the summer, my hair turns, like, a light. A very light brown, and that's what my mustache looks like. I don't know. I don't know if I can pull it off. Staz, that Robertson shift might have been the worst thing I've ever seen. You mean the one where he was in front of the net with Bobrovsky and lost the puck? I think sometimes, like, squeezing your stick is a real thing, man.

[00:39:10]

Like, being nervous is a real thing. All right, face off. We're back and playing.501 left in the first. There's a bad giveaway. I think Tan have just put the puck behind Marner. They've been sloppy, sloppy, sloppy in their own zone. I think Berube is going to have some chats with them about that. Eric Wehrman. Adam, I'll be honest. You need to keep the mustache. Well, maybe I will. Maybe I will. Okay, here we go. There's Marner. Muscled off the puck just a little bit there, but he, you know, typical Marner, still skates through it and almost gets it back. Anyway, the guy's been playing out of his mind. You cannot deny Mitch Marner has been spectacular. Code 88. I think the boys were at the beach too long yesterday. Listen, man, it's hard if you're not playing every couple of days. As much as that gets tiring, you do fall out of a rhythm. It's like when you don't go to the gym, right? Not that I've been to the gym all that much lately, but to be honest, like, you. You just. Your body Goes, oh, okay, we're relaxing now. And then, you know, you lose a little bit of that edge.

[00:40:37]

It's like teams that. That win a game in four, win a series in four games in the playoffs, and then they wait for another team that's played seven games. Usually the team that played seven games, even though they're way more beat up, comes in the series and they're kind of stronger in game one. And that's just sort of what happens. It's just the way it works. I do think you're going to see. I mean, you're going to see a bazillion Leaf games in December. The Leafs are still going to have to figure this out. It's the Florida Panthers. You have to win this game. Mel says hello. Hello, mel. Hello, Mel. 318 left in the first period. Leafs looked a little on their edges to start this game. I would say around minute 10, minute 9, they started to really sort of get into it. And I really like this third line. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about Alex Nylander, Minton and Grebenkin, but they've had some good offensive zone pressure, as you saw there. They would have been able to maintain pressure had the Leafs not been changing defense. But I have to say, you know, and it's smart of Berube to put out McCabe and Tanf.

[00:41:52]

Boy, they've been sloppy on D. Holy moly. Really sloppy. That was like. That's very uncharacteristic for tanf. Wow. That is also bad. Yeah. And sloppiness happens. You're going to have bad periods. But what I think is interesting is Berube is putting his most trusted defensive pair out there with these young kids and letting the young kids go and do stuff. I guess calling Nylander Alex Nylander, young kid is. He's 26 now. He's now a veteran. I like. I like Alex Nylander's game tonight. I like Mitten's game. I like Rebecca's name game. I think the thing that they're going to have to adjust to is the fact that, you know, and they've all been scoring a lot in the AHL level. They're going to have to adjust to the fact that they just don't have the same time here. They do not have this. It's like split second. Make a move. Don't think, just do. Yeah. Yanni says, I've been grooving growing a beard from the same day. You have. And I have like three times the beard. And I'm 45 years old. Well, Yanni, come on, man. I'm a. There's no way a guy like me can grow a beard.

[00:43:12]

You see this? See this patchiness? Yeah, I should have shaved. I should have shaved. Maddie Adams says 677 people and only 12 likes. Maddie, you might want to refresh your feed. We've. We've actually got 207 likes. If we could get a few more, that'd be great. Add more people to the stream. Leafs have used 18 forwards this month. Is that actually true? Wouldn't surprise me. So that is a true stat, according to producer Hayden. Hayden. I know Hayden puts together all these stats before the game. Sometimes I get the chance to read them on the stream, sometimes not, but he always feeds them to me, which I appreciate because that's kind of what it's about, right? You don't just read them off at the front. You gotta have. You gotta have stuff that, that works. Pickleball. Pat says he sees 208 likes now. We're less than two minutes left in the first. I didn't hate this first period, but I think, I think that they were a little rough on. A little rough on defense. All right, let's go. By the way, once everybody is back in healthy, this McMahon Tavares Marner line has got to continue.

[00:44:34]

Canadian girl, 83, gifting five STPN memberships. Thank you, canadiangirl83. Whatever your name is, wherever you're living, whoever you are, we very much appreciate you. And by the way, I'm still taking donations for our Movember space until Sunday because that's when it ends. I want to let you guys know that. And this is bonkers. I did not expect to raise this kind of money. I set a goal at 2,500 bucks. I thought that was achievable. It's now at 4,777 and well over 100 people have donated. So if you donated, I really appreciate it. Hayden Matheson. How about those Minnesota Wild Rides? So everybody look at Hayden Matheson in the chat. That's producer Hayden. That's the guy I'm always talking about who's off camera. So everybody say hi to Hayden. Oh, Doug Lee fan, not worried as Adam is undefeated on streams. Well, listen, one day, one day we may. Oh, look at, See, look at Robertson go. Look at him go. How can you not love this guy? He's trying, man. That's more than I could say for a lot of players that have played for this team. This vanilla, vanilla ass team from time to time.

[00:45:58]

I Love this team, but they've been a little vanilla from time to time. Not this year. Everybody's saying, hi, Hayden. Someone thanked Hayden for not being Drew. That's Brett. Oh, man. You guys, I have to say it's so funny a like the reaction to Drew because he's one of the best people in the world. He's just. It's funny. His online Persona is he wants to be the heel. He wants the heat. What can we rename Gripper Nations Cup? Well, we should do a gripper nation cup. Puppy girl says congrats, Adam for reaching her goal. Love, stpn. Well, thank you, puppy girl. I appreciate it. I also noticed that you're an stpn, a VIP member for nine months. So basically you signed up right at the beginning. That's awesome. Thank you so much. That's so cool. 21 seconds to go on this period. So we have 15 games tonight. Oh, we also have a very important pull up. Who is cooler, Hayden or Drew? Who is cooler and better? Well, Hayden's my producer so I'm going to say Hayden. And also a big shout out to silence averted. 20 gifted memberships. That's the end of the first period.

[00:47:26]

20 gifted memberships. Thank you. Silence averted. And welcome to all the new VIP members. I think you're gonna love it. I think you're gonna absolutely love it. And you can also upgrade to the VIP ad free tour tier where you don't have ads anymore. People are like, hey, how do I not get ads? That's how you do it. So let's do a little bit of an out of town scoreboard. Producer Hayden is encouraging me to do it, so let's do it. So I'm going to go to NHL.com and check the scores. Lot of games tonight and it's a fantasy hockey dream. I'm going to just tell you that. How are my teams doing? My team is one of my teams is not doing well. My other team is. Oh, needing to do better. Wow. I'm not having a great fantasy night. Now here's the out of town scoreboard, starting with Hayden's stinky, smelly team. Hayden Matheson, by the way, our producer is a Minnesota Wild fan. That's how he ended up with Adam Wild. He's just. It's just a wild thing. Minnesota Wilder up one nothing. Halfway through the second period with the Sabers, the blues are up 30 on the Devils, which is kind of crazy.

[00:48:36]

The Blues have been outshot by the Devils 11 to 14. And the Blues have three goals. What's going on with the Devils. Why can't they stop stuff The Rangers, Hurricanes game. If there's a game that you want to turn it and tune into during intermission, it's that one. Because the Rangers just sent out a memo like, hey, we're willing to trade some pretty big pieces here. The Hurricanes have surprised everybody and has been spectacular this year. And they're tied 2 2. And I really think between the Rangers and Hurricanes, if I'm being honest to me, those should be the. Along with the Devil, should be the two best teams in the Metro. And for me tonight, that's. That's what they're fighting. It's. It's the two top Atlantic teams. Toronto, Florida, and it's the two top metro teams, for my money, New York and the Hurricanes. So they're tied 2 all with 926 left in the second period. First intermission with the Flames and Red Wings. Red Wings are up one nothing on the Flames. First intermission two for the Capitals and Lightning. Capitals having a great year, but bad on the power play. And the lightning are up 2 to nothing on goals by Braden Point and Braden Point.

[00:49:47]

Look at that. He got two goals and one of them is a power play goal. Obviously, you already know about the leafs being down 2 0. The Bruins are up 2 to 1 on the Islanders. Penguins are up 4 to 1 on the Vancouver Canucks. Let's run through the goal scores here. Brian Rust from Sidney Crosby and Eric Carlson. Kevin Hayes from Evgeny Malkin and Eric Carlson. Ricard Raquel from Brian Rust and Marcus Pederson and ATU Ratty from Sassen. That is for the Vancouver Canucks, man. I mean, they just played last night, too. It is a little unfair to the Canucks. They did just play last night, but welcome to the NHL. That's the way it is. Archer Spiloffs, I think, is starting that game, and he's only played three of the last 17. Kevin Lankin's just been a monster for the Canucks. Pick him up in fantasy, if you haven't already. I did. Oh, my God. He's saving my fantasy. Buns. Canadians and Blue Jackets all knotted up at 1. Slavkoski got his second goal of the year. Slavkoski's got two in 19 games. It's been a rough start. Montreal is not looking great, but.

[00:50:51]

But, hey, whatever. Gotta be. You gotta beat whoever's in front of you. Blue Jackets. And by the way, it looks like the. That David Yurichek trade could happen, like, in the next 48 hours. So I. It's funny when you listen to the insiders. Chris has said it, I think Elliott said it, I think Ceravali said it. They're all talking about how there there hasn't been this much smoke upset general managers around the league in a long, long time. And I think like, like in terms of this early in the season, usually they're more patient than this. There's a lot of impatient GMs I think you can talk about. You talk about New York. Chris Drury's pissed. Don Waddell is going to trade David Yurichek. What else we got going on? Barry Trots is pissed in in Nashville. Kyle Dubas can't be thrilled with what's going on in Pittsburgh, although it seems though, as though they maybe did know and they just didn't tell anyone that this team wasn't going to be that good. Anyway, other score to to check in on right now are the Flyers and Preds. The the predators are up one nothing.

[00:51:59]

Roman Yossi with his fifth and still to come tonight, 8:30 Eastern standard we're gonna have the Stars in Blackhawks and then at 10 we've got the Golden Knights and producer Drew's Avalanche, who are somehow still over.500 despite not dressing any recognizable forwards. Outside of Miko ranton and Nathan McKinnon, the Jets and Kings are playing. The jets record is so ridiculous. 18 and 4. 18 and 4 go away. That's amazing. Ducks and crack. And the Ducks starting to show signs of life, especially in the goaltending. Lucas Dostall looks like he's the real deal. The team save percentage is.915. Kraken are looking kind of mid again this year. I actually expected more from them. See if they can pick it up. Now here's a battle of two teams that are bad. One expected to be bad, the other expected to be good. The Sharks expected to be bad, the Senators expected to be good, both are bad and both are playing each other at 10:30 tonight. So that's going to be interesting. Now Hayden, before we go to break here, I just want to give a big shout out to Nick Murphy who gifted five STPN memberships.

[00:53:07]

Nicholas, thank you so much. Really appreciate you and Hayden oh, hang on. Shabs Gaming HD hi Adam. The Leafs seem to be playing typical Lane Lamberg hockey through the first 20 games. Very good defensive hockey that is extremely boring to watch and our five on five offenses vanish. What's your what are your thoughts? I think I actually think the Leafs have been a lot of fun to watch. I like the dump And Chase. That's a Berube thing. Lane Lambert is really only looking after defense and penalty kill. I love the way the forwards are getting back for defense. Yes, their goal scoring is down, but you also need to look at who's not been playing well. Like, if I had told you that through 23 games or 22 games or whatever this is tonight, Matthews has five goals, you'd be like, well, that's a disaster. Well, it hasn't been one. But he only has five goals and he's only played 12 of those 22 games or 21 games or whatever it is tonight. It's a big deal that they're playing good defensive hockey. It's a big deal that they've got good goalies. I think that the next step for them is adding a third line center that can help them score.

[00:54:16]

And if you can spread Nylander, Marner and Matthews out over three lines, I think ideally you pair Domi with Matthews when Domi's healthy again, because again, he's not healthy. You have Tavares and I mean McMahon. I mean Tavares, McMahon, Marner is pretty sick. And then maybe Willie, Willie driving another line with this new centerman. People have kind of floated Nick Buickstad, I think. I hate, I hate to say this because I know it's not a popular answer with some Toronto fans, but I got to tell you, Ryan O'Reilly would be absolutely perfect. And if Barry Trots is serious and things don't pick up and they're going to trade, guess who doesn't have any trade protection? It's Ryan O'Reilly. And the Leafs I think would be interested in that depends on what it costs. But anyway, Shabs, that's a great question. And by the way, I believe that's your first. I believe that's telling me it's your first super chat, so thank you for that. That's a really great super chat. Okay, I gotta check my phone. Two quick super chats. It's not coming through on there, Hayden. There we go. So we've got. Oh, we have a gifted 20 memberships that I missed.

[00:55:30]

I'm sorry about that. Thank you very much. And I. And I can't see her name who donated. But anyway. But she also had a question. I just want to say how excited I am to have the PWHL take over coming to Denver in January. Happy Thanksgiving, Adam. Even if you're only half American. Well, I am. And I do observe Thanksgiving. My mom's out of the country for this Thanksgiving, so we'll be Celebrating from afar. But happy Thanksgiving to all of our American friends today and this week. American Thanksgiving is far superior to Canadian Thanksgiving and it's all down to placement. I love Canadian Thanksgiving, don't get me wrong, but I would much rather Thanksgiving be in November than in October because then it gives us September, which is everybody's back to work. October's Halloween month. November is Thanksgiving month, December is Christmas month. It's far more organized, far more civilized the way the Americans do it. Yanni Havisto says this ranting in for Martyr and Hockenbie. I don't think so. I think the Colorado Avalanche are never trading Miko Ranchinen and I don't blame them. Why would they? He and Nathan McKinnon and Kale Makar are saving their.

[00:56:39]

Their season. Okay, so Hayden, what. What clip are we going into is. Yeah, I know. Okay, we're gonna get in trouble for this one. Cassie, this is for you. It's how I started the show today. And it's. Is Crosby going to be a leaf? And that is, believe it or not, been a topic of conversation around Toronto. And listen, I knew he grew up a Habs fan, but the Habs are as bad as the Penguins right now, so that doesn't make sense. I personally think he'll end up in Colorado if he doesn't finish his career in Pittsburgh. But what if. What would that look like? Watch the clip. There is one thing I'd like to acknowledge. What that is that yesterday, somehow, some way, Sidney Crosby coming to Toronto made its way into the Toronto news site. It started with a hockey news article. Okay, I'm not going to spend a ton of time on this. Started with a hockey news article, which then made its way across the Internet. And then this morning, I am. I'm running the board for my mom's morning show because they're. They're in Barbados right now.

[00:57:53]

So was I.

[00:57:54]

And she's like, I don't have. I don't have anybody to run the board. And I was like, okay, fine. And I see not only handsome Chris Johnson on insider trading four different times on mute. Hot. But Brian Hayes was on Jay with Jay on Right. And he's talking about, would Crosby be a good fit in Toronto? As if that's a question. And what does the package look like? Like, and I just say, listen, I know Penn's fans, I've been hard on you, but I am really going to enjoy this one. I know he's going to Colorado if he goes anywhere. I know, but can I enjoy this?

[00:58:27]

No.

[00:58:27]

Why Can't I enjoy this?

[00:58:28]

I just, I won't even let my mind drift there.

[00:58:33]

He's not coming here. He's going to Colorado. If he's going anywhere, he's going to Colorado.

[00:58:36]

But like, he's probably not going anywhere.

[00:58:39]

He's probably not.

[00:58:40]

Also, please give credit to the correct people. Overdrive is the one who started this.

[00:58:44]

I thought it was Hockey News.

[00:58:45]

The Hockey News, they reference Overdrive in their article.

[00:58:49]

Like one of those.

[00:58:50]

Yeah, yeah. No, Overdrive got this Jeff and. And all of them got this started.

[00:58:55]

My wife calls him. She's like, you know, the Jeff dog. I'm like, you mean the O dog.

[00:59:03]

McLennan and the O Dog. They all got this started.

[00:59:08]

I want to say and.

[00:59:09]

And Pasta, his co host.

[00:59:11]

I respect this so much, Noodles. Yeah, I respect the hustle. I love it. And I hope that this, that this, this ping pong ball that they've created never loses momentum and that it just pings around the room like a stray bullet. Doesn't hit anyone, doesn't stop, just keeps going until Crosby inevitably says, I'm staying here for the rest of my career. Can you all shut. Oh, God.

[00:59:36]

He's not saying that. Well, if he meant it, he would have said it already.

[00:59:40]

Is ask. Is anyone asking him, though? I don't think anyone's asked.

[00:59:43]

No, no. And well, they haven't yet.

[00:59:47]

Oh, stop it.

[00:59:48]

They will. Do you think they won't?

[00:59:50]

People are saying, you got to ask the question.

[00:59:52]

You're hearing it more and more.

[00:59:54]

Ah, that's. Some of those are my favorite. Get out of it. Prepositions. Like, you know, people have been saying.

[01:00:00]

You'Re hearing them more and more.

[01:00:02]

Yeah, there are rumblings, you know, chatter's picking up. There's no question. Let's talk about what really matters, though. I thought this wasn't happening tonight, but Jesse and Steve and especially Jesse, who would know, is correcting me. Austin Matthews is very likely playing tonight.

[01:00:18]

Well, I know. I heard from Jesse.

[01:00:21]

Well, so, so, I mean, he did, he did his interview. He didn't want to talk about the. Whatever he got done. Remember, he was like. He was not like Cage about it. He's like, guys, I'm not talking about the direct flight. He said, yeah, but I mean, this guy coming back for a game like this, I kind of question. Not because I don't love Auston Matthews and listen. Not because their next game is any easier. It's against Tampa. But the Florida Panthers, top in the division. The leafs have won four straight. The Panthers have lost four straight Paul Maurice dropped 15F bombs in one sentence, apparently yesterday at morning skate.

[01:01:01]

No one's happy.

[01:01:02]

No one's happy. No one. No one in the league's happy.

[01:01:04]

The league has like seven happy teams out of 32.

[01:01:07]

I'm just wondering, like, the Leafs have a vibe right now and it's scrappy. And my concern is we're going to put Matthews back in this lineup and Mitch is going to stop shooting, and I just need for that not to happen against the Panthers.

[01:01:20]

That, to me is a much more legitimate concern than putting him in the lineup against the Panthers and hoping he doesn't get hurt, which is where I thought you were going.

[01:01:28]

No, I wasn't. No.

[01:01:29]

Just because it's the NHL, there's nowhere to hide. Like the Utah game got chippy. Not throw him in. Throw him in. See if he swims.

[01:01:38]

Yeah. He's also.

[01:01:38]

You're not going to keep a healthy Austin Matthews out of the lineup. I think that'd be. That'd be a ridiculous mentality because it's. You have no players on Tuesday. Yesterday they. They practiced here before they flew out. So yesterday they're at for performance and Matthews was on the, I think technical, technically second line with Holmberg and Nylander and then Tavares and Marner on the first line with McMahon. So I assume maybe they'll. They'll have those same lines tonight. But they're practicing this morning in Florida. So, like during our recording, we're going to get those line rushes. But Brube said yesterday that it's. Matthews is progressing the right way. He wouldn't say definitively or not whether you play and that it'll be up to him tomorrow. So be up to Matthews tomorrow whether. Which is today, whether he wants to go. And I assume that a healthy Austin Matthews will not keep himself out of the lineup.

[01:02:30]

I know this isn't the big story. Like, this isn't what to get caught up.

[01:02:34]

It's not the bet. MGM big story.

[01:02:36]

No, no, that's Monday.

[01:02:38]

But no, Justin Boren, I thought had a great point. He's like, dude, you're missing six forwards and you put Pontus Homeburg next to Austin Matthews.

[01:02:48]

Yeah.

[01:02:48]

Like, just trade Robertson for a third and be done with it.

[01:02:51]

Which we're going down.

[01:02:54]

That.

[01:02:54]

I mean, that's what he said and.

[01:02:56]

That'S what Justin Bourne said.

[01:02:57]

That's what Justin Born said. And I'm looking at it and just going, oh, shit, he's got a point.

[01:03:03]

No, I don't know. He does. Because here's the thing who's. If. If it's so would it be. Are you talking like Marner, Matthews? Robertson?

[01:03:11]

Yes. No, no, because Marner.

[01:03:14]

They marked him. Yeah. So that. This is.

[01:03:16]

No, it's Nylander. Nylander Matthews.

[01:03:19]

Okay. So I was. My. My question was going to be who would set who up? Because it's not like Robertson's going to generate. He's going to finish. He's not generating. Right. He's not driving. You hope so that Matthews already finished. I don't know.

[01:03:29]

That lie doesn't scream a success to me. Robertson, Matthews, Nealand.

[01:03:33]

I mean, neither of them do. And I guess that's the problem. Right. Although, you know what's crazy though is there's a greater. Oh, there's.

[01:03:41]

I gotta interrupt you. Some guy named Chris Johnston, reporter. Chris. Who the hell is that?

[01:03:48]

I don't know.

[01:03:49]

Has tweeted. It doesn't sound like Auston Matthews is quite ready to return to the Leafs lineup.

[01:03:53]

Hey.

[01:03:53]

Oh, there you go. Still needs a few more skates to get back up to speed. Saturday's game in Tampa remains a possibility. Well, guys, I guess I was going on. Well, he probably is just a little out of shape.

[01:04:04]

I think what's going on is the thing that Adam just said.

[01:04:08]

No.

[01:04:08]

Is that he needs a few more.

[01:04:09]

Skates to get going.

[01:04:11]

This began with him being day to day. This began with him being day to day.

[01:04:16]

Yeah, yeah, that. But. Yeah, but I don't think. I don't think it's the. I don't think that's the issue now. I think he said it in the interview. If you saw the scrum yesterday, he said, were you there before that, by the way? No, you weren't for that.

[01:04:27]

No, no, not for the awesome.

[01:04:29]

He said. Listen, I. It's going to take me a bit to get back up to pace here because, like, remember John Tavares at the beginning of the season, he got sick and then was bad for two weeks.

[01:04:40]

Yes.

[01:04:40]

And then has been the greatest version of John Tavares we've ever seen since. Right. So Matthews is trying to come back and be like, good, not just a jersey. And he's got a. He wasn't skating. He was doing other things.

[01:04:53]

We know they can survive without him.

[01:04:55]

Yeah. And. And I. This is for this, for me, what I think is so opportunistic about this game. Like, I think this game is. It's very clearly their biggest test to date. We're 25% of the way through the season or more. You need to have a good effort tonight. You need to have guts tonight. And I thought Marner and Nylander and some of the other guys had a really gutsy effort this weekend. Oh, yeah, like really gutsy. And I want to see what this team looks like without Auston Matthews going up against the team that they're fighting for the division title. And really right now, whoever wins this game is going to be leading the division. I think that matters. And I, oh my gosh, I want to see these guys because remember, everybody's the whole thing on. Mitch is like, oh man, he's playing great hockey, but wait till April. And I get that to an extent. Although the guy does have. There are. There are moments of Mitch Marner being an absolute animal in the playoffs. I'm thinking specifically about game three against Boston. My up. Am I here? Are we back? Are we ready?

[01:05:56]

Sorry I had to cut everything off. I know it was a lot of fun listening to how the Leafs are going to get Sidney Crosby, but I would tell you that here's the fun part. Probably won't happen, but yeah, it'd be really kind of neat if it did, wouldn't it? That'd be good vibes. So Leafs had a bit of a spotty first period for face offs. Already happened. 1950 left, by the way, for aligning our streams. Bit of a spotty first period. I feel like it's going to be a lot better this time. I think Berube is probably telling them, hey, clean up the defensive zone exits, boys. It's not good. And there you go. You start off the period with the fourth line again and they instantly get it down deep into the face off zone for the Panthers. And look at that. It's a 23 second shift. 23 second shift. And what does it get? The Leafs face off in the offensive zone. And I'm curious to see. Yeah, so the first. The fourth line is off. It looks like the Tavares line is out there. That's great. That's what you want. Give your big guys a chance to score.

[01:07:05]

Don't leave it to them to just do stuff. And that is how a line assists another line with a scoring chance. And look at that. We just got a shot. There wasn't a rebound there. Bobrovsky is really good at clearing them. It's annoying, actually. And he certainly has had the Leafs numbers in previous years. I think the leaf should break through tonight and just get. Get him scared. That's what I think. Wouldn't it be great to beat him without Matthews and without knives and without Domy and Yard croc and everybody else who's been injured be kind of sick, right? Oh, that was a bad giveaway. Geez. That's what I'm talking about. That there's just a little bit of. I mean, you got to give the Florida Panthers credit. They forecheck really hard, and that's what great hockey teams do. The Leafs couldn't do that for years. They're starting to. It's amazing to watch. They forecheck really well. Now look at Nylander. That's a four. That's a good four. Check. But you know they're going to pressure you, and you have to make smart decisions under pressure. And it's not always going to be fun. Panthers are not like a fun night on the schedule for anybody, though.

[01:08:27]

The Stanley cup winning team, who would be. But you got to enjoy that challenge, you know, like, that's sort of the whole point you get to. Every day in the NHL is a good day, right? Oh, okay. You got to play the Stanley cup champions tonight. That's what a great. Here we go. Robertson. Nylander. Robertson. Hey, you know what? I don't blame Robertson for taking that shot. I'm glad he didn't pass it. I'm glad he didn't pass it. Let him get a shot on the net. You got the offensive zone face off. I don't think he would have made the puck over. Cassie says. Adam, check your Movember total. Cassie. I did check my Movember total, Ladies and gentlemen, I have officially reached over $5,000 on my Movember page, and it is entirely due to Cassie. On that last donation, she put me over the top with a 300 donation, which is outrageous and crazy. And I so, so, so appreciate it, Cassie. And it all goes to mental health causes for men and, you know, mental health and physical health, testicular cancer, colon cancer, mental health causes. It's an amazing thing to get. Over 5000 bucks is a pretty big deal.

[01:09:41]

I certainly wasn't expecting that, and I just want to say how much I appreciate it. Cassie. Thank you. You're amazing. Adam, what do you think about the TSN afternoon crew throwing around ideas regarding Sid? I think that they're doing it for fun because it's fun for the content. And we talked about it on the show today, and we actually just ran that clip in the intermission and people are saying, cassie, you're an absolute legend. Cassie is a legend. Jesse Blake did not like Robertson. Weak backhand to the goalie. Jesse. I don't think he could have got that, that pass through, man. I know you're. I know you're a Nylander booster here and I don't blame you, but I have to tell you, I think Robertson did the right thing. He's just got to get a shot on the net. Just a shot. Cassie rule. Everybody loves Cassie and they should in the chat. Cassie just rocks. Also, Cassie's Penguins are winning. Go Penguins. Hayden is asking me to clap at puck drop. Hey, really quietly, something to watch tonight. Fraser Minton is a point a game player. He's played two games. He has two points for the Leafs.

[01:10:54]

Let's keep it up, Fraser. Jesse, go back and look. Jesse's saying, don't blame me, blame Robertson. Jesse, go back and watch the play. Do you really think Robertson's getting the puck through? I don't think so. I think that. I think the Panthers defenseman had a good position on him. That's what I'm saying. Andrew Ban, Jesse Blake. Here we go. Face off. 17, 17 left in the second period. Jesse is going to go back and watch. I know he is. He's gonna be like. He's like, actually, you're stupid and wrong. And I'll go back and watch and go, man. Jesse's probably right. Listen, I'm just. For a guy like Robertson, I'm rooting for him. I'd like him to score some goals, though. But I am rooting for him. Is it Jesse's fault that Robertson didn't pass? You have to ask the question. He's probably going, screw Jesse. I won't have it. It's going to be my goal now. Probably. Is Holmberg up to. Oh, if Robertson had grabbed that, he wouldn't have had to pass it to Nylander, that's for sure. 16:19 left in the second period. A little bit of neutral zone play here. Robertson back to McCabe.

[01:12:24]

Robert Bat almost ready for that third round pick for Robertson. Goal. Think of when the floodgates open. Now listen, he is snake bit and there's no question. And the guy's not going to be able to drive his own line. And size is an issue in the NHL for him. But I will never root against the guy that tries that hard. This guy. That guy is all energy all the time. Feet are constantly moving. Where is Madman Steve tonight? He is a riot. He will be coming back on Saturday. We do our. We both do our streams. I think there's a lot of people here who are checking this out for the first time who've never seen a stream outside of Steve. Well, welcome Jesse. And I do them too. No Marner just crushed bark off from behind. Good save by Stallers. I have a bigger issue with anyone passing to Holmberg on a two on one than that play. Jesse Blake. Jackie knows what's up. Winnipeg owes me a thank you. That is a reverse curse. Absolutely, Jesse. Here we go. No SDPN says. If this is your first SDPN stream, give me a hell yeah.

[01:14:00]

All right. 1503 left in the second play. Has been sort of back and forth through the first quarter of this period. Natalie Drake, thoughts on the PWHL's known new no escape rule. For anybody that hasn't seen this, I'll read it out to you. No escape rule is this. I think you guys know. Hang on. You know what, Natalie? I'm going to hold on to that until the next face off here. Stoppage and play. But I have the rule up in front of me. And then buying into Adam, being a Pens fan. Buying Adam into being a Pens fan. Hey, listen, I have a soft spot for the Penguins. My mom's first hockey game because she grew up in Pittsburgh and went to North Allegheny High. Cassie, you'd know where that is. Was the Pittsburgh penguins in the 1970s. And they were poopy. They were poopy doopy. But they had those cool jerseys. Sadine Magic 15. Welcome back City and Magic 15. Hey, Adam. The Penguins are up 51 on the Canucks, so I'm switching over to Leafs game so I can watch some good hockey. Well, second half of a back to back. What are you gonna do?

[01:15:08]

And the Penguins have got to win at one point or another. But welcome to us. Sadine Magic, Adam from Wazoo. Favorite Thanksgiving side dish. Stuffing. Stuffing with gravy, baby. And proper stuffing. Stuffing that's been in the bird. It's cooked in the bird. Delish. Okay, according to multiple sources, Kachuk and Norris are available via trade on the Senators. No, they're not, Todd. What sources? What Todd? Source them, then send it through. Send me the link, Todd. Okay, now let's talk about the no. No escape rule because Natalie Drake was asking about this no escape rule in the pwhl and I respect the PAWHL for this because they're doing a lot of the things that you're like. Man, I wish the NHL would try that. So the PWHL has a rule that requires players to stay out when their team is whistled for a penalty. Meaning, let's say your team takes a penalty and then you go down six on five. And that team, the team that has possession, maintains possession for 30 to 40 seconds. And you're out there and your legs are dying and all you need is a whistle so you can change and get off.

[01:16:32]

And you touch the puck, they blow the whistle. Who cares that they've called a penalty? At least you're going to be able to sit on the bench. No, you're not. Even if, and especially if you're not a penalty killer, you're out there. You're staying out there until you can gain position or gain possession. Excuse me, and dump the puck and get off the ice after the next face off. Meaning you cannot escape. If the ref calls a penalty, you're stuck not for the next face off, but the face off after that. Isn't that nuts? That's kind of crazy. I love that rule. I think it's going to be spectacular. We're in for Haley Salvian wrote a really interesting article in the Athletic about the PWHL second season and why this matters so much. And she said essentially it will determine the future of women's hockey. And listen that they've, they've got some good partners on board. I was reading today on LinkedIn that Intact Insurance came on board as a foundational partner, meaning that they're going to do a multi year deal and they're sticking with us and whatever the reality is the league lost money last year and that's okay.

[01:17:37]

It's probably expected. It's a startup, right? But what this league is going to have to do is show advertisers, show advertisers that there's real value in the game. And I think advertisers believe there is real value in the game. I think advertisers are seeing that there's real fan support within the game and those rates that advertisers are paying right now are like bargain rates compared to what the NHL is. And frankly, they're playing there's paying those rates and those rates are going to go up and they're going to see a lot of really great, I think, value for what they're paying for. And the PWHL teams will recognize this, know this, and the rates will go up and the league will lose less money and then one day they're going to be profitable and it's probably going to happen soon. I'm excited for them. It's going to be very cool. There's TANV so I'm curious about. Wow. Robertson's played a lot tonight, by the way. He's listen. And you can listen to Jesse Blake all you want. He's actively involved in a lot of plays Maybe they don't go anywhere, but he's been around and the Leafs were always going to struggle tonight.

[01:19:02]

This is going to be tough. It's a great team and the Leafs are missing most of their best forwards. That's just the reality. But hey, still got three of the core four. You still have a chance. You can win. Look at the. Let's Watch the Panthers 4. Check here. Bennett, Kachuk, Verhege do such a good job.

[01:19:26]

Oh, wow.

[01:19:27]

Okay. That's going to be Bennett. Just beans Stallers in the head. Or is it. Was it Kachuck that beaned him? Stollers fell backwards. I hope he's all right. He's not. He doesn't seem like it's. And I think Maurice is trying to see if he. If he sold it. You can't. So this is the problem with the paint or the Panthers in the playoffs too, because you know the ref's never going to call it. You're going to have to literally beat the crap out of each other. You're going to have to beat the absolute. If the Leafs and Panthers play again. Oh, yeah. Could Chuck hit him in the face. You're going to have. It's going to be like a war of attrition. You're going to have to like bet Bennett put Knives out of the series two years ago by literally running him behind the net. That's what the NHL allows in the playoffs. That's the kind of game you got to play. And I think with a guy like, you know, when Johnny Hockenpaw is back to full health and that sort of thing too, that's really going to help because that guy is an absolute monster.

[01:20:35]

He's huge and he's good. That helps. Being huge and good really helps. Here we go. Oh, Robert, I'm sorry. Robertson. Tavares. So used to Robertson missing goals that Tavares, it just kind of flittered over his stick there. There we go. Nylander beats the defenseman to the puck there. I love that. Oh, no Leaf defenseman there to hold it in. I think that was. Marner just got there a little bit late. Oliver Ackman Larson with the breakout. I've loved him. Man, what a pickup that's been. Marner, Nylander, Tavares. Is Alex Nylander out there? I think it's Minton. Interesting. Brube's playing with it a little bit. We need a power play goal tonight. And that was a really bad pass. What the heck? Ekman Larson does a great job boxing him out. That's how you do it. Draw another penalty, too, while you're at it. The guy's throwing punches at you, Timmons. See? Did you see that Rock, by the way? Jesse, did you see that Robertson was involved in that? He tipped the puck. Just saying, man, there's so many. Who are you repping today? Gripper Nation, Cassie? Clan, Mustache Mafia and Crab people? Is that what's going on?

[01:22:14]

Andrew Doucette. I was hoping the lease would be more gritty. It's not enough. Yeah, I agree with that. Be a little meaner, Cassie. My favorite part of the Pens game is how baffled Penn's Twitter is that they're winning. Rusty with the national hat trick. Two points for Sid and three for Ek. Well, that's good. Robert Bett. I told this to Steve, but love the joke. What do the Titanic and halves have in common? Both are at the bottom of the Atlantic. It's a good joke. I like that. Listen, I'm not a petty man, but I can't tell you, I can't lie to you. I am enjoying the Senators and Habs situations this year. Here we go. Robertson. Robertson. Oh, hang on to the puck. Nicholas, please get a goal. Please get a goal. I'm your biggest booster. I'm a Robertson truther. I just want you to score. Score a big goal. Be a hero. You deserve it. There's Lorenzo. This is the fourth line. They've done a great job tonight. Oh, McMahon might be offside there. Oh, Dewar with a great second effort. It might not have mattered because I think McMahon was offside. But you know what?

[01:23:25]

Hey, Thomas says, what do you think about this hilarious trade talk about the Leafs getting Crosby? We talked about it at the top of the show. I've mentioned it. We played it at the intermission. It is hilarious, and I'm going to enjoy every minute of it. And my bet would always be on Colorado getting him. If that was. If that was what was going on. I don't think Crosby, like, if Crosby gets traded, let's just say. Okay, since we. Since you brought it up, if Crosby gets traded, it's like, what are the chances it happens at the trade deadline. I don't see Sidney Crosby being the type of guy, he's committed to this team that goes mid season to Kyle Dubas and goes, you know what? On second thought, I think that's like a long conversation at somebody's cottage somewhere where they sit down and they took man to man. All right, Sid, we want to talk man to man. You want to talk man to man? Talking man to man. I think that's going to be. It'd be like a summertime conversation. We're going to trade you in the summer. Wherever you want to go.

[01:24:32]

Whatever you want. Andrew Doucette. Robertson's last game. Softer than wet Paperback. Listen, man, he's involved in the play. Steve Dangle dropping a super chat. If you shave that mustache, we're throwing hands. Guys, here's what I should have done. I should have shaved. Jesse's right. I should have shaved and cleaned this up a little bit because it really pops. So when? Friday. Friday I will. I will. I will shave it and be look good. Should Robertson become a D man? Absolutely not, Doug. He is not big enough. My girlfriend said no for Cowan. Knives and a first for Crosby. I don't know. I. I don't. I just don't know. Like that's the other thing. Crosby. To get Crosby would be outrageously expensive. I mean, he's Crosby, man. There's nobody the Leafs need in the playoffs more than a guy like that. You imagine you put him in like Marner and Nylander out on the ice together because you need to get a goal. Follow that up with. Or you put Marner and Matthews or Nylander, Matthews. Whatever you want to do. Marner, Tavares. You could move Tavares to the wing. So you could have Crosby, Tavares.

[01:25:53]

Imagine Crosby and Tavares playing together. Nobody's talking about that. But just two guys who are low center of gravity. Gravity. Thick legged men who are impossible to knock off the puck. Can you imagine the board battles. What a pain in the ass. I don't think teams would like that very much. I know he's staying in Pittsburgh. I know, I know, but. I know, but I want to throw it out there. Andrew says Robertson hardly big enough for pe. That's the thing. He's not that big. It's struggling. Steve always says it right. Steve, are you watching still? Steve always says it's like every game Robertson gets completely blown up by somebody and snaps right back up. You can never question the man's work ethic, but size is going to be an issue. This is going to be a bit of a test for the Leafs. Barkov deep in the zone where you never want him to be and where he always finds himself. And they got it out. That's good. Their defense is getting a little bit better throughout the game. Rodriguez and Reinhardt are his line mates and it's just bonkers. What Reinhardt's shooting. You can't let REINHARDT Shoot.

[01:27:07]

Number 13 is Reinhardt. By the way, don't let him shoot the puck ever. For any reason. There's Marner. Pass up. Tanev dumps. Tavares is going to get in on Ekblad unless. Because it goes behind the net. Oh, almost a bit of a giveaway there. McMahon just doesn't have the position. Connor Timmons in his own zone. Grabenkin passes up to Benoit. Here we go. And that puck is. Free kick. That was a crazy. That was crazy. Natalie says, adam, dye your mustache blue. This is my wife texting me, by the way. She said, dye your mustache blue. It will help the team. Oh, my God. Stop. Stop. Okay, again, I want to tell you who. Somebody said, trade the whole Marlies team for Brady Kachuk. Brady Kachuk is not on the market, guys. He's not on the market. Norris might be. Pinto might be. Kachuk is not on the market. I will be shocked. I will dye my mustache blue if Brady Kachuk is on the market right now. Noah Berger. I'm actually surprised at the lack of fights and scrums in this game. I thought it'd be more chippy. I agree. Oh, we got at least took a penalty there.

[01:28:54]

I think on Evan Rodriguez. Yeah, you just got beat and you hooked him. So I think the reason that you haven't seen a lot of scrums is that there's a lot of guys on the Leafs who are not regulars, who are just trying to earn a spot, and that is not their game. I think Rabankin eventually is going to be like, I. I would hope he becomes a bit of a. Like a Leo Komarov type of shithead. Maybe even like a, you know what, Ridley Grigg Light or Marshan Light or something like that. Oh, that's bad. That's on Bulkwist. I thought it was Rodriguez. For some reason, I misread the number. Long story short, I look at the. I look at the Leafs lineup and I go, that's not the Leafs lineup. Really? And also, nobody can afford to take a penalty. When you're in a tryout situation like this, you can't take a penalty. Coach is going to look at you and go, like, what the hell? If you're a regular in the lineup, maybe more forgiving. Cassie says Blake Lazott has been hit in the head by a puck by his teammates three times this season.

[01:29:59]

No, this is not a joke. He just came back and it happened again. Oh, poor guy. That's rough. That's hacky, though. Did somebody just say, the Leafs are messing up my eight game parlay yikes. Eight game parlay. Hayden's got a 15 game parlay right now and the Pens are ruining it. Cassie, you would love that. Noah Burger, should that have been a penalty shot? No, Timmons didn't break. If he. If he brought Boquist down, it would have been. But no, he did not bring him down. And also, I don't think Boquist was on like a clear, clear breakaway. There wasn't the space. 38 seconds left on the PK. Whoo. That shot looked a little bit dangerous from Kachuk there. Thankfully, it missed. Like to see the Leafs block a few more shots here and you could tell their PK guys are tired. It's Homeberg, Lorenzo Oel, and it looks like Simon Benoit out there too. 12 seconds left. Yeah, Lorenz's legs are. His thighs are on fire right now. You can see it in the way he's skating. Homeberg couldn't even go after that puck. Oel tried to just because he's so tired. This was good offensive zone pressure for the Florida Panthers.

[01:31:39]

Probably not the chances they wanted, man. The puck just stays in. They get. The Leafs have got to do something about this now. It's five on five. Get out there, get the puck back. Just try a little bit harder, boys. Little bit more. Oh, Stallers with a great save, covers the rebound, gives his team the relief they need.516 left in the first period and I'm going to do a little clap over the next Face Off. My wife says it will inspire the team if you dye your mustache blue. Jesse Blake, Zero shots on the last pp. They did a great job blocking. You know what, Jesse? More blocking shots. And dead in the puck, too, while you're at it. The Leafs are experiencing a discombobulated game. These happen. It's not a crisis moment. I don't think anybody's freaking out, do I? Do I sound like I'm freaking out? I'm pretty chill. Noah Burger. Too much passing for the Panthers. On that power play, I agree. That looked a lot like the Leafs early season power play. Just looking for the perfect shot, passing it around. Kachak actually shot the puck, though. This feels like a scheduled loss.

[01:32:49]

I won't lose sleep over this. See, I don't agree with that. I think if you're playing a team that's been the top of your division until the last week and you're like, oh, scheduled loss. What does that say about your mentality? Listen, you can lose, but, like, you can't. You can't lose like that. Scheduled losses to me Are like, oh, we got blown out by Columbus. Scheduled loss. Okay. And you are going to lose games and you're going to lose games to good teams and bad. But I think you gotta give it your all. I have to say I've liked their effort a lot more in the second period than I did in the first Emmy. Your streams are always pretty chill, Adam. They are, but I don't know. Have you guys seen me in the playoffs? Playoffs. That got exciting. Hayden. Oh, Hayden says there's a trivia question for me in the stat pack. Let me pull that up. Let's do some trivia. Trivia for Adam, who is the Florida Panthers all time leader in plus minus? Anybody know? Hint. And don't look it up on quant hockey. I'll know if you're cheating. Hint.

[01:34:08]

He is currently active in the NHL. He played two NHL. He's played on two NHL teams in his 419 game career. He has played for Chicago and Flo Rida and he's currently the Panthers all time leader in plus minus. Is he playing on the team right now? Did Evan Rodriguez play for the Chicago Blackhawks? It's not Evan Rodriguez. Who would it be? He has a positive 146 plus minus. And it's a defense. What? Who's it? Are you serious? Gus Forsling played for the Blackhawks. Oh. Oh. So okay, Hayden just got me because Forsling played for the Blackhawks. He never played a game for the Canes because I always thought Forsling claimed off of waivers by the Panthers from the Canes, but he never played for them. That's a good trivia. Damn, Hayden, that's good trivia. That's. That's crazy. That's a crazy number. Pickleball. Pat detecting a blue mustache fantasy. Adam, Go for it, man. My wife, I don't know why she's saying that. Did this even come up in the chat somewhere? Jay Diesel gave us a Super chat for 13.99. Thank you, Jay. But there's no question in there. If you had a question, feel free to drop it in the chat.

[01:35:57]

And my Natalie, my wife Natalie says I'm just giving him about the blue mustache. You know what, Natalie, come on, support the team here. Natalie, you drop. You know what, why don't you all dye your mustaches blue? Jeff Major Adam, serious question. If the Leafs win the cup, will you let me make you a plate of nachos? Jeff? Absolutely. I don't like nachos. Everybody knows it. It's my weird thing, but I would let you do that. Now here's the next face off. We're going to clap here. Boom. 413 left in the second period. If you're looking to align streams, this is the all AHL line. But it's all switched up. Bobby McMahon. Oh, he just. He just switched off. So you got Minton, Alex Nylander, Nikita Gurbankin. Oh, off the post. Wow. Steve. Oh, so Steve's is out there in place of Alex Nylander. McMahon went to the dressing room. Oh, no, no. Okay, now I will get severely unchill if Bobby McMahon is hurt. I'm going to be pissed. Oh, please don't be hurt. Hayden Matheson says Kyle Clifford, call up incoming. What would that do? No offense to Kyle. He's a good leader down with the Marlies.

[01:37:35]

But like, oh, man, come on. Nylander is out there. That's Willie. Nylander is out there with Tavares and Marner. They got to get some sort of offense going and they just don't have the offensive depth. They need a third line center, guys. I've been saying it, they need it. Here comes Tavares in. He gets knocked down. He's still on his butt and nice shot up from his butt. That was a good shot.310 left in the second period. We got a face off here. So let's align. 310. 310, guys. Robert bet I hate the brewing. Oh, looks like Florida got a penalty as well for holding. And I think that was Rodriguez before he got knocked over by Ackblad. Rodriguez held up Tavares. I think it was across the blue line. They're showing it right now. Yeah, he got it. He had his arm around him. Robert bet I hate the Bruins, but not liking the Monty firing then to have the Blues hire him a few days later. I think the Blues did Drew Banister wrong. Also, Cujo got inducted into the Blues hall of Fame. Well, good for Cujo. You know what, guys? Robert, I would say this.

[01:38:48]

It sucks what happened to Drew Banister, but it wouldn't have happened if the team had been winning. Oh, what a terrible play by the Leafs there. Reinhardt. I told you not to let him score. Guys shooting like 30%. Okay, so this is a bad play. And this is what happens when you're discombobulated and a lot of your guys are not your guys. Ah, so Tavares just has a soft play off the boards. Nylander can't get it. Barkov off to the races, makes a great play over to Reinhardt and they do a great job. So Watch Barkoff as he comes across the ice. He brings two Leafs with him, and there's nobody that can cover Reinhardt. And he creates the screen. He passes and then creates the screen for Reinhardt to put it home. Oh, terrible giveaway. Damn. Reinhardt's been shooting the bloody lights out. Isn't that his 17th goal also? We worked with him a little bit at the All Star Game. He's one of the nicest guys I've ever met. Yeah, 17th goal. That's bonkers. Guy's crazy. Yeah. So if there's a lot of itchy general managers out there trying to make trades, the Leafs should try to take advantage of that.

[01:40:25]

Like, with. With respect to Fraser Mitten, it's pretty clear that Fraser's probably not ready for 3C duties. They get it. They're going to need somebody who's fully developed and ready to go again. I say Ryan O'Reilly would be awfully perfect. I know he signed with Nashville over this team, but I'd welcome him back. I love that guy. He's a great player. 50 seconds left here in the power play. Marner, Riley, Tavares. Grabenkin is out there. Everybody's getting a turn. Mitten's got a turn. Alex Nylander got a turn. We got a little bit of play in front of the net. Tavares, man. I have to say, Bobrovsky, too, has always had the Leafs number, especially in his time with the Penguins. It's going to be tough, guys. It's going to be tough. I got some trivia for you. The Panthers have tallied five hat tricks against the Leafs all time. Who is the most recent Florida Panther to score a hat trick against the Leafs? Can anybody name it? Drop it in the chat bought broadcast said Bobby McMahon was hobbling off the bench. Oh, my God. SDPN. What about Cadre? Hi, guys. Let me just remind you that the Calgary Flames are in a playoff spot.

[01:41:54]

They're not trading Cadre. And the Calgary Flames don't do business with the Leafs because true living. I know Doug McLean went on the air and was like, yeah, they're talking. No, they're not. No, they're not. There are no Calgary. Toronto Trades. As long as Don Maloney is in charge of the Calgary Flames, they'll talk to Toronto. They'll never pull the trigger. Oh, no. Is Rock. Is. Is Tavares hurt? Oh, great play there by Marner. I think Tavares is hurt. Oh, it's in the face. Okay. I mean, I'm sure it hurt his face, but it's not going to stop him from skating, by the way. I'm just going to give you the trivia. Mark Pissek was the last guy to do it. February 3, 2020. Bark off. Did it December 15, 2018. Richard Zednik did it in 2008. Joe Newendyke, former Leaf against the Leafs in 2006 and Powell Beret in 2001. Hayden. Say that again. Oh. Oh. We got a goal. Mitch Martyr, baby. Let's go that scene. Mitch who's been playing animal hockey. Unbelievable hockey. Yes. And it looks like Grubankin got his first career assist. Good for him. Man. Berube loves this Grimankin kid.

[01:43:20]

Loves him. Loves this guy. So Marner all alone in front of Brabovsky. What a move. That is disgusting. Watch what he does to keep the puck away. That extra move. Oh my God. Wow. Wow. Oh yeah. Bobrovsky can't touch that one. Hey man. Leafs are back in this game. It's only two goals. We're Leaf fans. We know that comebacks have have happened on on less. Text it to me. Hayden. I'd like to. I'd like to read that out. Hayden's got Bobrovsky stats versus the Leafs during his career. I have a feeling it's going to be painful. He's going to text it to me. I'll read it out to you guys. That was just an unbelievable goal by Mitch Marner. Good for him. Good for him. Super Sexy Sadine Magic 15. Damn it. I have Bob and fantasy. I wanted to shout out. Hey, I have Stallers in fantasy. I need the Leafs to win this game. SDPN 4 check. Bat check. Paycheck. There he is. By the way, Gurbankin did not speak any English three months ago when he came to North America and he is now able to communicate with people, which is pretty cool.

[01:44:51]

I think Mason Zigman makes a good point. That makes the shorthand of gold. The Leafs allowed worse. It should be right now 2 to 1. Hayden says Grabowski in his career against the Leafs. Wait, why did I say Grabovsky? Bobrovsky9. Is that his safe? Is that a safe percentage against the lease or is that a safe percentage all time? Save percentage against the leafs all time is.904. But his goals against average.282. It's not actually as high as I thought. Now do playoffs. Hayden. He kicked our ass in the playoffs. Lisa gifted 10 memberships. Thank you Lisa. Everybody who has got a VIP membership reminder to thank Lisa. That's a very generous donation. Lisa, you flipping Rule. Okay. Are the playoff stats ridiculous against the Leafs? So Bobrovsky against the leafs in the playoffs.943 save percentage and a 1.89 goals against. Now, how much of that. How much of that is Bobrovsky being? Very good, which he was. How much of that, though, is the Leafs never generating any chances around the net back then? They didn't. Hey, Lisa, thank you very much for donating those subs. And everybody who has just become a vip, welcome to the club.

[01:46:26]

It's a lot of fun. Super excited to have you guys along. Let's get a Leafs win out of this, though. Let's get a comeback in period three, shall we? Period's over. I would say, all in all, still a bit sloppy on the defensive side. I'm just hoping Bobby McMahon is not hurt. You need. You needed the goal from a star. You got one. Mitch Marner scored it. Now you need a goal from somebody who is in the depth. You need a Homeburg goal. You need a Robertson goal. Robertson needs a goal more than the Leafs need a Robertson goal. It's crazy. Robertson is like, desperate. I'd like a Steve's goal. I'd like to see an Alex Nylander goal. Sean Page. I want a membership. Sean, you can get one. It's 4.99amonth. When people give out these VIP things, it's a little test. Reeves just gifted out a One SDPN membership. That's awesome. VIP, by the way. It means you get an extra episode. There is another tier to vip, which is VIP ad free, which gets you to ad free watching of all SDP shows. All four of them every week. Because we do four.

[01:47:40]

One of them is behind VIP is the VIP paywall. Okay, so here's my question, you guys, before we go to break here for a sec. Are the Leafs in the third period about to choke or about. Are they about to cook? Edward asked the question in our. In our chat and I think it's a good one. He said Leafs may choke or cook in the third period. Which is more likely? Are we feeling like the Leafs could choke or could cook? Choke or cook. What are we feeling? Cassie? I think we should get Movember to 6K. You know what, Cassie? We're gonna put. We're gonna do a push. We'll do a push. Albert Lee, is VIP still only for YouTube, Spotify and Apple podcasts? Yes, those are the only podcast platforms where it's available. So you usually you pick one and you enjoy your podcast there. So if you're more listening in the car, then maybe Spotify or Apple's for you if you're more watching at home. That works. Also if you're a premium YouTube member, you can use YouTube Premium and, you know, use the app and should be able to listen to it in the car as well.

[01:48:47]

Whatever works for you. Sadine Magic 15. Don't you have to be leading to choke? Yes, technically, but in this case, sometimes. And Sadine Magic 15, you might not be used to this because you don't watch every Leaf game as closely as we all do. And that's okay. It's probably better for your mental health. But in past years, the Leafs have gone into like a period like this and it's like, okay, this is a guts or glory time. Are they going to come out and kick some ass or are they going to blow it? And more often not than not it was, oh, my God, they're going to blow it even when they're behind. So is it a cook or a choke? That's what I'm going to leave you with. Justin's put up the chat right now. We got a lot of votes. Oh, right away I'm gonna say let them cook because I have faith in the boys. Hayden, what are we. What are we doing here? Oh, okay, so this is a reaction to the Matthew, nice hit. And this is interesting. Okay, so this is reaction to. It's not the nice hit, but this is from Monday's show and this is about the NHL, the NHL player safety, putting out a video that actually explains why the nice.

[01:50:02]

The white cloud hit on knives was legal. This is actually a really good segment. And how about this? People like, oh, you guys are always so hard on the NHL. We gave him lots of compliments in this one. Check it out.

[01:50:16]

Because people go, well, what are they going to do? A video for every hit?

[01:50:20]

We said that? Yeah.

[01:50:21]

Oh, yeah, we said that, yeah.

[01:50:22]

Well, what are they going to do? And I go, no, just the ones everyone's talking about.

[01:50:27]

The Leafs ones.

[01:50:29]

Yeah.

[01:50:30]

I mean, yeah, not to be an asshole about it, but no, there's.

[01:50:34]

There's, there's three hits they're talking about here. Two of them are from Leaf skin.

[01:50:38]

Two of them are.

[01:50:39]

And the other one only comes into play because you're comparing. Comparing it with the Leafs hits.

[01:50:44]

But this a golden. I think we were going to get a video for this incident or we were never, ever going to get one ever, because Reeves got suspended. Hit to the head. Was it the next game this happens. Hit to the head. No suspension, no penalty. Even clean Hit right. And people were like, k, there's obviously a difference here. Walk us through though. Like, because they're similar enough that we're like, oh, shit. One guy got five games, this guy got zero minutes. What happened here? And it just so happened to be the Leafs. If this was Utah or fraking, I don't know, whoever. We probably don't get it.

[01:51:29]

No, but I agree. Yeah, this happened. The first one happened Saturday night. Like Hockey night in Canada.

[01:51:36]

Yes. And everyone was talking about it. And then the next game happens, everyone's talking about it. Like it or hate it. Lee fans make up a big swath of your fan base.

[01:51:48]

Hate it.

[01:51:49]

And talk to us like we're grown ups. This is when, when this happened in the LFR video, I'm like, okay, I'm not going to yell and scream that the NHL stupid, they made the wrong call here and they're stupid. I'm not going to do that. Help me.

[01:52:06]

You do do that a lot.

[01:52:07]

I do do that. And I'm. And people expected me to do it and I didn't do it because I'm like, listen, okay, like, you've been around the game for a long time. Here's. Here's what I hated. Oh, it's obvious that the reason it wasn't called and the reason they don't have to explain themselves is. It's obvious. Meanwhile, you go on social media, Mike Johnston, former LEAF TSN employee, goes, that's not a penalty. And then Carlo Coliaco, former LEAF TSN employee, goes, how is that nothing? There are two former NHL players and two former guys who played for the team in question who have wildly different opinions on the matter. So, no, actually it's not obvious.

[01:52:57]

Yeah.

[01:52:58]

And it's arrogant and insulting to think that it's obvious.

[01:53:01]

There's a lot of people when these things happen, they take a clear side of it. This is illegal.

[01:53:07]

This is usually.

[01:53:08]

And it's never like that. It's usually muddied because we don't. Nobody really knows the rules.

[01:53:12]

And it's obvious to you, but it's obvious that there's thousands of people who believe it's not obvious to. So let's talk about it.

[01:53:21]

Have you ever heard.

[01:53:22]

No.

[01:53:23]

Have you ever heard this the way this is?

[01:53:25]

I've never heard anything.

[01:53:26]

My own voice, but. And it's going to sound far fetched and it is. But I. There's a saying that in history where it's how you feel about the French Revolution is how you vote.

[01:53:39]

Adam.

[01:53:40]

And I find it funny that a Lot of the times, the way people feel about this stuff, it comes down to, like, there's. There's that sort of feel. What team are you on? Not. Not how you vote, but like, what team are you on? Are you on the. The Woke Wimpy team?

[01:53:55]

Oh, you're getting rid of all hits.

[01:53:57]

Yeah, yeah. Or it's. Yeah, you. I've been watching since the 70s and I smoke cigarettes out of my butt with my dad in the garage. Like, you know, like, I.

[01:54:06]

That's not how you smoke them.

[01:54:07]

Well, that. No, that's what the bot told me. So. So my point is this. It. It got to a level that was so polarizing with fans that the NHL player safety said, we gotta. We gotta bring some safety to the masses and we gotta explain ourselves. And I think.

[01:54:27]

Please do.

[01:54:27]

It's a good thing.

[01:54:28]

Yes, it is.

[01:54:29]

But I also think it shows how little consistency they've had to this point. And now.

[01:54:36]

Well, we're. We're not there yet. We're not there yet.

[01:54:39]

And now we have something to hold them to, which is a dangerous. Sorry, I'll shut up.

[01:54:44]

You're absolutely right here. Let's keep going.

[01:54:46]

Okay, let's play the video. Let me go back a little.

[01:54:50]

I want to talk a little bit about the Flames.

[01:54:53]

Go ahead.

[01:54:53]

But I'm not going to tell you what I'm talking about because context isn't good for a show.

[01:54:58]

No, we.

[01:54:59]

It's not.

[01:55:00]

In light of the similarities and differences among these three plays and their relatively high profile nature, we want to take this opportunity to demonstrate some of the nuances that our department examines when we are reviewing hits that involve contact with the head.

[01:55:13]

Here's how the sausage is made.

[01:55:14]

To begin, let's review Rule 48, which reads in part, yep, a hit resulting in contact with an opponent's head where the head was the main point of contact and such contact to the head was avoidable. Is not permitted. This means there are two aspects to an illegal check.

[01:55:31]

No, no.

[01:55:32]

What?

[01:55:32]

So people keep going. Here's the rule. Thanks. I can read. Walk me through the rule, though.

[01:55:40]

Yeah, I think they have to set up the rule first.

[01:55:42]

Yeah.

[01:55:42]

Yes.

[01:55:43]

Yeah.

[01:55:44]

No, no, I'm not insulting them. I'm insulting the people who go here. And I'm like, no, it's not that simple. Actually. It helps to have video. And here's the NHL going. Here's an oasis in the desert where.

[01:55:57]

The head was the main point of contact and such contact to the head was avoidable. Is not permitted. This means there are two aspects to an illegal check to the head, both of which must be present for the hit to be illegal. First, the head must be the main point of contact of the hit. While the term principal point of contact used to appear in the rule, the wording of the rule was changed in 2013 to main point of contact to better reflect the intention of the rule and the way the players understood it.

[01:56:27]

Huh?

[01:56:27]

There was a change.

[01:56:28]

This means it does not matter what part of the player was impacted first. What matters is what part of the player absorbed the majority of the impact the hit. Let's look at the video examples on this hit by Jeannot. While contact is made simultaneously with the head and body, it is clear to us that Besser's head absorbs the majority of the impact of this hit. Jeanneau's arm does contact Besser's body, but Jeanneau's shoulder cap is driven directly into the chin of Besser with force. On this hit by Reeves on Nurse, Reeves makes minimal contact with Nurse's body and the head absorbs the brunt of the impact. Note the way Nurse's head moves independently of his body in absorbing the force of this hit. You can't help it on the hit by White Cloud. White Cloud hits through the body of knives. While there is inarguably head contact, here we see Knives entire body stopped in its tracks and driven backwards simultaneously with his head in a way that indicates the body absorbed the force of this check. If we determine the head is not the main point of contact, the review ends there and the hit is considered legal within the framework of the rule.

[01:57:38]

If the hit is determined to make the head the main point of contact, we must then contemplate whether the head was avoidable or not. The text of the rule explains multiple reasons why head contact might be considered unavoidable on a play, as both the Jeannot and Reeves hits were deemed illegal for the same reason, having poor timing or poor angle of approach. This video will focus predominantly on this aspect of the rule, but remember that head contact can be unavoidable for other reasons, including movements made immediately prior to contact. For a more complete analysis of unavoidable head contact, please Refer to our 2018 video on NHL.com Player safety examines unavailable.

[01:58:21]

Avoidable Headcount the rules don't change that.

[01:58:23]

I know, but update it. No, no, no, no. But let's look at some examples for a sec.

[01:58:27]

So one of the main things this eliminates this video helps eliminate so many tired and exhausting and now because of this video, irrelevant arguments that we see with hits. Oh, he hit the shoulder first and it rode up. Doesn't fucking matter if the main point of contact is the head. It doesn't matter if you hit him in the friggin knee first. Yep, the main point of contact was the head. Beginning, middle, end. Yeah, there it is.

[01:59:01]

Both of the hits by Jano and Reeves are excellent examples of players who took a poor angle of approach causing them to pick the head. Both players cut along the front of their opponent's core rather than hitting directly through through their opponent's shoulder or chest, which causes the contact to be directly and forcefully with their opponent's head. Conversely, White Cloud takes a good angle of approach stepping up directly through knives core. And while White Cloud does come up off the ice due to the force of the contact of the hit, he does not elevate up excessively or unnecessarily to pick the head as he delivers the check. This means that the head contact on this play is considered unavoidable. Head contact on a play where the hitter is throwing an otherwise legal full body check. To summarize, remember that both elements of the illegal check to the head rule must be met in order for a play to be deemed illegal. When analyzing an illegal check to the head, first determine if the head absorbed the brunt of the impact of the check. Then consider if the head contact was avoidable or unavoidable. If the head was the main point of contact and the head contact is deemed avoidable, it is an illegal check to the head.

[02:00:13]

At this point, the department of player safety will weigh other factors such as the force of the hit, the predatory nature of the hit, any injury that might be suffered on the play, and the hitter's disciplinary history in assessing the length of a possible suspension.

[02:00:29]

No high sticking though.

[02:00:30]

No high sticking.

[02:00:31]

Not in this instance.

[02:00:32]

That video, that helped a lot. Audio transitions aside, is so well done. Yeah, it helped so much. And like, did it change my mind on the hit? Yeah, like it changed my mind on the call that was made, or rather not made or. No, they made a call, they reviewed it said no penalty. Now if you still don't like that hit, I get it because. Nice. It wasn't his head wasn't the main point of contact. Holy shit. It took a lot of contact. And if you would like to see that sort of hit taken out of the game, I totally understand that point of view.

[02:01:16]

However, it's still here and that is a different conversation.

[02:01:22]

Hi kids, we're back. How's everybody? What'd you Think of that Department of Player Safety video. Did you guys get a chance to watch it? Like, did you go back and watch the actual physical video? I know you watched the clip, if you're still here, which I really appreciate by the way. I was impressed by the fact that they did the video. It's so not their MO But I think they took a lot of. I think they took a lot of heat and finally they capitulated. And from what I have heard behind the scenes, there were pressures and a lot of people from the top were not down. And it came from the younger end of the Department of Player Safety. Gotta listen to these young kids. They know something. They know something. Tyler Smith, SDBN have you watched the entire video rule book yet? No. Is that. Is that available? It's from like 2018, isn't it? The rules haven't changed that much. Yeah. So here's, here's some stats that I think we need to take into attention. And this is something that is being shared in one of the group chats. I'm in. There are two guys that need goals in this third period.

[02:02:46]

Guys, honest. Holmberg has played 19 games for the Leafs this year. He has one goal and two assists. Oh, Nick Robertson has played 18 games for the Leafs this year. He has one goal, zero assists. Those are like Slabkovsky numbers. Those are bad boy. Would be super duper cool. Super duper cool if Leaf steps started scoring. By the way, mentioning worth mentioning. I think our good friend Cassie is here. All of our Pittsburgh Penguins fans who continually join us and we love you. It's five three now. Pittsburgh over Vancouver. It's getting a little close to comeback territory, don't you think? You can have a look at that. Let's look at the NHL scoreboard because there are 15 games tonight. So let's just kind of go through what we got. So there's 2 minutes and 31 seconds left in the Blues Devils game. Has Jim Montgomery already fixed the Devil or the Blues? They're beating the devils 3 nothing. You have to ask the question. The flames are down 1 nothing to the Red Wings and being outplayed significantly there. Capitals and Lightning are in a wrestling match. 3 all tie right now. Obviously you know about the Leafs and Panthers.

[02:04:11]

Panthers up three to one. Bruins and Islanders also tied at three. Canucks have it's 11:40 left in the third period. The Canucks have to score two goals in the next 10 minutes. And by the way, they've scored two goals in the previous 10 minutes. So why not? Why not? Quinn Hughes open the scoring by the way, in the third period. 40 seconds in. That has to feel good. Canadians, Blue Jackets tied up at 2. Preds and Flyers 2 to 1. For the Predators, Blackhawks are leading the Stars three nothing, really. The Golden Knights at Avalanche are going to play tonight, as are the jets and Kings, the Ducks and Kraken. The Senators and Sharks. Wild and Sabers and New York Rangers and Hurricanes. Those games are already over. The Wild beat the Sabers 1 nothing on a goal by Kirill. Thank God he's not injured. Kaprizov and the Hurricanes beat the. The Hurricanes beat the Rangers. Oh, boy, like right at the end. 1201 left in the third period. Jackson Blake. What a name. It's not quite Jesse Blake. The ultimate name. Jackson Blake. 7th goal of the year. Quietly having a very good season.

[02:05:23]

Power play goal. And here we go. Third period is started for the Leafs in the Florida Panthers. I am very interested to see how the first five minutes of this goes because if you're Craig Berube, you need this team to get out there and be great right away. And this is probably not what you wanted, spending the first 15 seconds in your zone and not having possession. He has notably started the fourth line all three periods this game. I'm curious about the strategy from that. It has kind of worked. Like they have gotten some offensive zone face offs. The fourth line's entire job here is to get the puck down, get Bobrovsky to cover it, and then get the Marner Tavares and what was McMahon and is now probably William Nylander line out there. Haven't seen much of Alex Nylander either. Is Bobby McMahon back? That's what I'd like to know. Bobby McMahon, are you back? Jackson Blake is the son of former Leaf Jason Blake. I didn't know that. Hey, that's pretty cool. Oh, so Gurbankin will not get an assist on that goal because technically Gurbankin hit Ekblad's stick and not. And it didn't come off of his stick.

[02:06:55]

So Marner will be unassisted. Damn, Marner. That was. It was a sexy goal. That was hot. Fin G says scheduled loss to quote Dangle. That's Dangle and Blake. You can't have a scheduled loss against this team. Guys. Not these guys. Not these guys. You at least have to make it close. You can lose games to good teams. You have to make this close. And I'm having a coffee to fire it up for the third period. I have been up, believe it or not, since 4am oh, Hayden says there's a Stat on my phone. Phone stats. Quinn Hughes is four assists away from passing Alex Edler. On the all time list for Canucks, defenseman Hughes has played 539 less games than Edler. That's pretty wild. And Kalia, you can't have a scheduled loss when you haven't played in a couple days. I agree. I agree. Gabriel says Adam, do you like bubble tea? I've never had bubble tea. I'm an uncultured swine. I've never had it. I should have it. People are obsessed with it. Come on, Nylander. Get Homeburg his second goal of the year. That's a tough task. The Leafs so clearly need a third line center who can be a second line center.

[02:08:33]

Like it needs to happen. You got to call one of the teams that just hates their lives right now. What's up, Nashville? What's up, New York? What's up, Pittsburgh? Any centers? Man, you know who I'd love to see come to Toronto? I doubt he's available, but Vinny Trocheck. I am a huge fan of Vinnie. That would be the sickest. Justin says Adam. I'll order Boba to the office. Oh, I would love to try it. Did Crosby just score? Can somebody check on the Pens game? Did future leaf Sidney Crosby just score? People are just putting Crosby in the chat. Still five three right now. Cassie says no Crosby or Malkin for you. I forbid. You know, Cassie, if Crosby is a leaf, at some point you're gonna have to cheer for the Leafs too. You know that? It's gonna happen for you. Okay, here we go. Marner line out there. Come on. Oh, big hit by McCabe granking out there with a big assignment next to Marner and Tavares. It worked out okay, though, during the power play. If McMahon's gonna be out. Oh, I'm gonna die. Oh, who are they gonna call up next?

[02:10:13]

I guess they won't have to. If McMahon's out, Matthews is coming back. Knives is coming back. Say that again. Hayden Abruzzisi is the only guy, according to Steve Dangle. I don't think they're gonna have to worry about it. If Matthews is back on Saturday with the Lightning game, then you don't. And you. What's great is you don't have to put anybody on waivers, so that's good. Would Alice Nylander clear waivers? Hard to know. I would bet that he would, but teams like to screw with the Leafs like they really do. The Leafs didn't think they'd lose Michael Amadio, and they did. Oh, here's Robertson. Oh, come on. Oh, nice little setup by Holmberg there to Nylander didn't go in, but we like to see it. Mel's asking for updates on McCabe. Well, McCabe was out there. From what I, what I saw was was he injured? Holmberg threw it a little too far. Nylander's got a tough task tonight. He's got two ice cold players that he's playing with. That's tough. I'm not, I'm not positive, guys, the way that they're playing that Holmberg and Robertson deserve to be on the second line. I know they made the team out of camp and I know that you've got a bunch of new young guys like Minton and Steves and that sort of thing.

[02:11:43]

And Granken, from what I'm seeing, I just think if this has to continue for a few more games, I would let the younger guys do some more. And I think they're already, they're already doing it with Grubankin. Brewbay loves that guy. Just loves him. But I'm thinking that like I'd like to see Nylander, Minton, I'd like to see Alex Nylander up a little more too. Yeah. Leafs can't get a lot going here, but you can tell the press is on. Tanf dumps it in, chases after it as the Leafs go for a change. A nice little four check by Chris Tanf. Leaf PR just tweeted that McMahon will not return. So that is eight forwards, eight Leaf forwards out. The Leafs are the Eastern Avalanche. AVS fans, you know exactly what this is like. Leafs fans, you're about to learn. ABs are still doing it though. And. And the Leafs have better goaltending than the abs. Let's be honest. No offense to Anon and Georgiev, but it's not going well for them again. Oh, Alex Nylander just got tripped accidentally. Both Nylanders on the ice. Somebody says I blame Drew for the Leafs. Colin McBride.

[02:13:22]

I just got here. What happened to McBobby? Bobby McMahon, I'm not sure he like it. They took a face off and then he just skated right to the bench and I, it was really odd and I thought I was like, oh, maybe he's just going for a change. Like, no, he seems like he might have been really hurt. Nick Murphy says better to get the injuries out of the way. Now here's hoping Connor Timmons just took a penalty on Evan Rodriguez. If Edward Rodriguez is bleeding, this could be four minutes. That's not good. I want to see replay of this. I only Caught it out of the side of my eye here. So. So there's Timmons. Oh, my God. Okay, so what happened was Rodriguez grabs Timmons stick. Timmons tries to pull it out, falls down, hits Rodriguez in the face. And Timmons, listen, if you get your entire hand around somebody's stick, just like you get an entire hand around a pocket, that's a penalty. Can't do that. Ah, how can. SDPN asks, how can you get a high stick while sitting on the ground? Damn. Well, someone. Colin says, someone needs to tell Adam, scheduled loss doesn't mean blowout and not trying.

[02:14:38]

Lol. It means looking at the schedule and saying, yep, they probably lose this. Colin, I'm aware. I've been doing this show for 13 years. What I'm saying is I need a better effort tonight. Canadian girl, 83. Five memberships given out. Thank you. CanadianGirl83. And I just want you to know that you're better than the 82 Canadian girls who got the name before you. Way better. I think we all agree. Andrew8468 says it should be four on four. It should be. It won't be. Connor Timmons takes weird penalties too. Like, I remember. Do you guys remember a couple weeks ago, he just. It was an emotional game. I forget who it was against. And he just kind of grabbed a guy and just went. And the refs were like, penalty, man. It's penalty. He was like, ah. I tried to hug him to death. Oh, look what Lindgren just did. Yikes. I didn't see it. Cassie, we. I can't see it. What you have to tell us, Jeff Major, is it mirrored at Alex Nylander Look a bit shook up. Shook up at the end of his shift, too. Don't tell me that, Jeff. Don't tell me that, Jeff.

[02:15:55]

Come on, man. Dr. Nick rest in peace. Subwoofer guy Chantel says, Adam, you got to grow some handlebars. Next year, I will do handlebars. So there's the Bobby McMahon play. Okay. He blew. Oh, man. So it could have been any number of things. And now Connor Jims is out. Boy, oh, boy. Listen, man, this comes down to guts. Do you have guts or do you not? You gotta win. Injuries gotta win. Bobby says he jammed his foot into the boards. Well, yes. Okay. Oh, wow. Tour just got crushed in the face. And look at him, all alone. Oh, and he just got crushed again. Ekblad got him in the face, I think, with like, a errant elbow and then just crushed him. Jeez. Welcome back to the NHL, Connor. Doer. Hope you enjoyed injury.

[02:17:04]

Adam.

[02:17:04]

You should grow your mustache to match Larry Lanny McDonald. Nobody can match landing McDonald. That is a fabulous mustache, groomed to perfection. Look at Doer here. Watch Ekblad. He's just gonna crush him. Bang. Oh. Oh. B are the only remaining Leafs forwards. Mitch, Johnny and Willie. Everyone else from lines one to three are out, right? No. Holmberg and Robertson, the two coldest guys on the team, are also in there. Dewar is a regular forward, but he hadn't played to start the year in. Yeah, that's it. Johnny, Mitch, Willie, Pontus, Holmberg and Nick Robertson. Those are your five forwards that made it out of camp, that are still on the roster, that aren't injured or. That's rough. It's rough. Cassie says sent the lingering oopsie into your DMs. I will check that out, Cassie, but we're in the middle of a shorthanded thing and I just can't. Oh, Lorenz. Oh, everybody's mentioning Lorenz. Yeah, Lorenz. Okay, so they have two full lines. Yikes. By the way, Lorenz looks good. I really like that guy. Chantel says we need Matthews back asap. You know, I wouldn't have said that until this game, but boy, do they look thin up front.

[02:18:43]

And it's funny, the Leafs do have better depth than I've seen them have before, but I just don't think that you can go forward like this. If one of your two centers goes down, you have nothing to cover with. You just don't have the depth in the system. You've got no up and comer. Minton's good. I like what he's doing. I think he's better suited for the AHL right now. Hey, by the way, SDPN just wanted to quickly remind you to like this video and subscribe to the channel if you haven't. If you like this video, it means more people will see it. And the more people that see it, the better. And by the way, thank you to the. How many? I'm just refreshing my feed to the 408 of you who have liked it thus far. That's pretty good considering we got like 670 people watching. It's pretty good time for Marner and Willie at sea. You know what? They keep talking about Marner at center. Let's just do it. Why not put Marner at center with Robertson? And who else is left? Alex Nylander. Why not? What the hell? You got two finishers and Mitch Marner.

[02:20:01]

What the hell, Alex Steves. Even you can book a Ranking with them. Whatever you want. I mean, listen, why not Gary Hall? Are we looking at overtime coming? Gary, we need a goal, man. We need a goal to start before we start talking about overtime. There's only 10:40 left in the third. I'm going to do a clap here. 10:40 left, face off coming. There it is. Connor Bedard has scored tonight. He had a goal of streak. Well, how long was that goal of streak? Hayden Taylor hall has a hat trick tonight that's got to feel good for him because he's on the trading block very much and making $6 million Canadian Big Mac. Adam, when we shake off the injury bug, do you think Berube should try running four lines deep with scoring? No, I don't spread Matthews, Nylander, Marner, Tavares over four lines. No, four line scoring doesn't work traditionally. You need lines to do other things. You can have energy lines and that sort of thing. The Leafs did try that four line scoring thing and the reality is in the cab world, you just can't have that many good lines that can legitimately put the puck in the net with regularity.

[02:21:22]

What you're hoping for is your top two lines to score a bajillion goals, your third line to score a mediocre amount of goals, and your fourth line to get one every once in a while. And your fourth line's got to be penalty killers. Energy, guys, four checkers, that sort of thing. That seems to be the formula. Here's Nylander, Tavares, almost. Come on. Oh, really Great play by Tavares. Man, he's looking great. What a year he's having. Wow. Connor Bedard's goal slap smashes a 13 game goal of streak. And by the way, round of applause for my fantasy teams. Conor Berdard is on both of them and I need him to score more. Robert. Bet it's been a while, but I just thought of this. It's ironic that Steve doesn't like the Grippers, but yet he scored a goal off his own foot. You know Robert, that's a good point. Good point. Maybe he needs to appreciate Gripper Nation a little more. There's Holmberg trying to push the puck in. I think they might be offside. They're offside. That was a smart play by the Panthers defenseman there. You got, you got the size on them.

[02:22:34]

Hold them up at the blue line, turn them around, put them offside. Great way to get a whistle. The Panthers are really good at doing those little things. Really, really good at just things that you're like, oh, God. So annoying. Boring and annoying. Braden Point got a hat trick tonight in Tampa. It's four. Four there. I'm just looking. Cassie sent me the Charlie Lindgren. Oh, no. He tried to clear it around his own net and cleared it into his own net with 12:41. That was the game. No, Charlie. That is an all time. Dang it. Have you guys seen this? Look this up. The Charlie Lindgren thing. You're going to see it everywhere. This is an all time terrible goaltender play. Oh, my God. If you're a goaltender. 10 the goal. Steve's not here, but if you're a goaltender. Oh, my God. It's bad. I wish we had hockey rates so I could show you it. I'd have Peyton Hayden put it up on the screen. One day we will. One day we will get highlight rights. Damn that Lingren plays bad. Richard Trofino. Jesse needs to do a breakdown for the lingering goal. I'm going to text that to him.

[02:24:15]

That's hilarious. Jesse, you know what to do. Let's see if he drops one tonight. See if he's man enough. I don't know if he's watching anymore. He's out there being a cool guy. All right, so we've got. The Leafs have not generated a lot of high danger chances tonight. The shots are even, but let's be honest, it's not been a great. They haven't created chaos in front of Bobrovsky the way you'd like. And they were really executing well on that before all the injuries. McMahon is out now and Matthews and Comp and Doming. All these guys. Nice. It's difficult, right, for these young new guys to take up the mantle, but, yeah, a lot of you are checking out that Lindgren goal. Yeah. Super. Not good. That's. That sucks. The Caps have had such a good year, too, and it just stinks. It stinks that Ovechkin's out and it stinks that that goalie thing happened. But you got to pay attention. I think Logan Thompson gets the next start. Script banking along the boards with Minton. And Robertson's out with them. So they've put Robertson now on the third line. I don't know what that means for Alex Nylander, but I guess they got to get Robertson out there for a shift boy.

[02:25:43]

By the way, Steve was in one of our group chats tonight. Somebody in our. In our chat here on this video just mentions Robertson needs to learn. San Jose. Lilligren has gone to San Jose and has not recorded an assist. He's got a goal, has not recorded a single assist. That's rough. Who knew the one game he played for the Leafs last this year would be his last? San Jose stinks though. Let's be honest. He's got two goals actually for San Jose this year. Two goals, two goals, no assists. He's now on the second power play unit instead of the first. But let's be honest here, it's San Jose and it's pretty hard to judge anyone fully. Hayden saying he's minus one on San Jose as a defenseman. That's not bad. I would love to see what his advanced numbers are. And remember, you're always grading on a curve with bad teams and defenseman. Like I, like I said, I think Cody CC is having some of the worst 5 on 5 numbers of his career. And like, I'm not a crazy fan of Cody CC's game. I don't think that's a secret. But like he's not like that.

[02:26:59]

He's not that bad. It's, it's. San Jose doesn't have a lot of good players. Hayden Matheson, producer here just said Benoit is a really good example of that. That's right. In Anaheim he was considered. What did they say when the Leaf signed him? He was considered statistically the worst defenseman in the league. And look at what he's become. And I think it shows you that the numbers that we have available to us through advanced stats publicly are just so surface level in comparison to what these teams have. Oh, penalty here. Nate Schmidt is down. Is it Nylander? What happened? Happened off camera? Nate Schmidt is down. Did he get a stick to the face? So is Nylander going to get a penalty here? Yeah. Oh, for God's sakes, man. It's gonna be a four minute too. Oh. Oh, Willie. That might be a. That might be a fine. That might be a suspense. I don't think that's a suspension. That might be a fine though. I don't think that's a suspension. That's a high cross. I think he was expecting Nate Schmidt to have his hands up too. But dude, if they. Yo, if they suspend Nylander, you mad.

[02:28:40]

Just imagine for a second like, you know what? We will give him a one game suspension. Who is playing for the Leafs in Tampa in a couple of nights. Like that's who will play for the Leafs in Tampa in a few nights. Oh my God. I listen, I think Willie's getting fine there. He might get a game. Oh, we are down to a one goal game in Vancouver. Cassie. Cassie. Do you hear that, Cassie? It's the footsteps. Oh, did the Pens win? Is it over? Oh, the Pens just snuck away with it. Boy, their goaltending is bad. Kadri would have got suspended for that. True, but William Nylander is not Nazem Kadri. It's not like William Nylander has been disciplined before. I think that was just one of those accidentals. Oh, could Chuck looks hurt. Puck go off his stick skate? I mean. Oh, there goes. There's a goal. And here it happens in the first two minutes. So there's still two minutes to kill. Carter Verhege, former Leaf. Had to be that way. Well, this sucks, man. I'm telling you, if deploy I'm gonna tweet this. So I just tweeted, if Willie gets suspended, who will play for the Leafs in Tampa?

[02:30:43]

I am seriously asking this and I'm going to put it on Blue sky as well. Are you guys on Blue sky, by the way? If you're not, you should. You should jump on it. I've actually really enjoyed it. I'm not expecting it to like replace Twitter, but I really like it. I really like it. It's been like really cool reaching out to people there, talking to people. Bubby says it's Jover. It might be a lot of Florida Panthers fans have left, but it is 4:1 and we know in Leafsland that's not a safe lead. J Diesel, what's your Twitter at Adam Wild, W, Y, L, D, E and on blue sky at Adamwild, BlueSky. Whatever. I do think they need to change the usernames on Blue Sky. I don't want to be at AdamWild, BlueSky Social. I just want to be at Adam Wild. Is that possible? They'll change that, right? Wasn't a great game. Was not a great game. Wanted it to be better. Would have been helpful if the Leafs hadn't had so many injuries. You still have to play the hockey games though, don't you? Wow, that Charlie Lindgren thing. Just saw it again, guys.

[02:32:10]

So bad. Stpn. Spencer Knight rocking the Adam Wild mustache. Who did it better, me or Spencer Knight? Nick Murphy said it took me two days to sign up for Blue Sky. Seemed like every time I tried it, it errored out. Yeah, I've heard that and I think it's because they've. Hayden was dropping some insane stats. Insane stats about Twitter and Blue Sky. Hayden, can you. Can you text those to me, please? I got to read these, guys. I got to read these to you. These are insane. You wouldn't believe the growth. 32 seconds left on the power play. Oh, Joss goes over the net. City and magic 15. Oh, no. I just realized, Adam, your undefeated streak on Streams, well, it was bound to happen at some point. And you know what? If the Leafs are going to have seven or eight forwards out, I can live with that. I can live with that. So, Hayden, have you texted that to me? Are you working on it? You guys cannot. You will not believe these numbers. I was like, what? Are you serious? It's a crazy jump. So is Alex. Is Alex Nylander out too?

[02:33:50]

I hadn't heard anything on the broadcast for it, but I haven't seen him out there. Like, guys, what's happening right now? This is nuts. I've never seen injuries like this. Wow. Shane Beresford the next for next year's Movember or maybe Rachel's Raiders. You should set a high goal and if you reach that, you got to wear a sense goal sends jersey for a stream. You know what, Shane? We can do that. But I think I can do better than that. Like next year, I'm thinking I'm going to go a little. I'm going to go handlebars next year, I think. And I'm thinking that we should look at a situation where like I put some sort of crazy dare out there, some sort of bet, and if we cross a specific threshold, I will do X. I don't know what that is. Maybe we can figure that out. Robert Bett, Worst goal ever of ESA TOSCA 2008. Have you seen the Charlie Lindgren goal? Might be worse. Jay Diesel super chat. Aj I can't read your question is, is your font or it's just. Oh, it's a super sticker. Oh, thank you, Jay Diesel. Alex is on the bench.

[02:35:20]

He's not injured. Okay. So maybe he's just not playing much. Maybe. Maybe he did something to bother Craig Berube. Shane Manman. Who's up next for the Marlies? Abruzzisi Cressler. Apparently Abruzzisi is the only guy that has an NHL deal. The rest of them, you'd have to sign someone and I think you're probably.

[02:35:52]

Oh.

[02:35:55]

Okay. So here's the. Here's the Twitter Blue sky stuff that's going to blow your mind. Since November 1st, Twitter has gained. Sorry, Blue sky has gained 23 million users. So it's essentially a million people almost every day. 800,000 people, 900,000 people a day. Twitter, since the election has lost 15 million users. So that's. That's significant. Now Twitter's got a bazillion users, so. But 15 million sucks. Now, Hayden was also saying that Mark Zuckerberg lost his mind and was like, why is Threads not getting this? And what Mark Zuckerberg doesn't seem to understand is that we want a timeline that is actually in the time that was tweeted. I don't want to see someone's post on Instagram. Like. Like Instagram. Oh, it's three days old. No, I don't care. I want Twitter. Is it immediate? All Zuckerberg had to do with Threads was make it immediate and like concurrent. That's it. And he didn't do it. You had like a year head start, dude. And I've tried Threads. It's good. It's just not what we need. I'm on Twitter for the. Oh, Chris Johnson. At this rate, the Leafs are losing players. You can't rule out a Toronto based beer league or getting a PTO at at this point.

[02:37:14]

That would be nice. Which tweet, Hayden? Oh, look at the replies to the Chris Johnston tweet. Oh, we retweeted it and said, put us in. That's funny. Doug Lee fan. Cowan can play nine games. He cannot. They've already sent him down. So because he's in the chl, he cannot come back up until next season. I think it's a stupid rule as well, but that is the rule. You can play nine games at a camp. At the second you are sent back to your CHL team, that's it. It's over. Sarah Marlowe. Blue sky will never be X. I mean, yeah, I think. I think you're right. I think it's difficult for it to be X or Twitter or whatever, but to me, it's like, I got to go. Where? If you're hanging out on Blue sky, then I need to be there too, right? Like, I. You know, if you're on Twitter, I need to be there too. I'm not. Like, I'm not making some big political statement and leaving Twitter. Like, guys, I know you'll miss me. You just won't get to. You won't have the pleasure of seeing my tweets here anymore. Like, I have something interesting to say.

[02:38:34]

You know what I'm saying? We have a pulled goalie. You know what? I respect this.313 left in the third period. Why not try? Why not? We got an icing from the Panthers. Unless that goes in the net. That was a rolling puck. You just never know. Oh, God. Who will play for you know what? I'm gonna say it. Oh, Nick Murphy, thank you for donating. Five. Five memberships. That's incredible. How about a triple steam? You dangle and Jesse, that would be fun. I think it's, you know, it's interesting. We. I think we will do something like that sometime. We also did it for. We've done it for, like, trade deadline and stuff like that. I didn't mean it that way. Blue sky rules. Oh, no, I know, Sierra. I know that, you know, Blue sky does rule. It's probably never going to be the size that Twitter was at its height. But you know what the thing about any industry is that you come out, you have somebody that creates something that's crazy unique and it becomes a monopoly for a while, and then someone else goes, what If I took 15% of that market share?

[02:39:57]

I could still make a pretty good living doing that. And I think we're going to see the continual fragmentation of social media, and that's kind of a good thing. It's kind of weird that for this long we've had, you know, meta and Twitter and Snapchat and these guys all kind of dominate. You need more companies than this. TikTok, too. Like, how has no one else created a video platform that can rival TikTok? You got to do it. Oh, nice little chance there. Oel setting up Tavares, who's had a good game. Give Tavares some flowers here, too. No results, but had a good game. Adam, put Riley on the wing and have Myers play bottom pair. That's a good idea. Put Morgan Riley at forward. What the hell? I'd love to see that. That'd be sick. And there's the Florida Panthers goal. Damn, dude. Little purple YouTube shorts. Tried and failed epically. Yeah, we still do YouTube shorts. I don't know who watches them, but they seem to do good. Numbers 128 left. It's five one. Florida. Yeah, this is. Yeah, Mike Schmidt, Yahoo Fantasy. Forgot to put Nylander on for tonight. I'm glad I didn't check it.

[02:41:23]

Yeah, no kidding, man. Yeah, yeah. YouTube shorts. Do you guys watch YouTube shorts? Do you watch our YouTube shorts or anybody else's? I'm actually really curious to find out. I'm thinking that we might put together like, a survey and, like, get you to sign up at sdpn ca and we'll. We'll put like a prize on the line or something like that. Justin, we do pretty well with shorts. It's fine. Brad Storch. I watch the shorts. Yeah, a lot of yeses on the shorts. Okay. Ctd, cdt Auto. Didn't even know you made them. You know why you didn't know? Because we didn't tell you. But it's also Justin's fault because he puts all those shorts together and you should blame him. And he's running the STPN account so make sure to ascend to send your abuse his way. This is Tavares first pointless game since November 12th. Assuming he doesn't get one here in the last 30 seconds, he's not on the ice. I don't think he will. There's grubbanking out there. Getting some more ice time. Gurbankin breaking in. Man, I love this kid. Just the wild hair, the no teeth. He's beauty by the way.

[02:42:48]

Stick around. We're going to do a little 5 minute Q& A. So if you have any questions for me that you want answered, hit me up. Just put it in the chat, guys. Love you all. Wow, rough game. I guess Steve and Jesse were right. Scheduled loss. I don't have to like it though. I don't have to like it. I don't have to like it and I don't like it. If you have questions. Let's do a little. Let's do a little press conference here. Hit me up. Who's booing this man? James Stemmer. The Lingren own goal was so bad he made it look intentional. It's so true. Rich M. When are you bringing those apples, Adam? Yeah, don't worry about those apples. You don't know boy. Adam, are you aware that Cliff Fletcher is old enough to have scouted Tony Hand? No, I did not know. Jacob, when did the Leafs make a trade for a third line center? That is a good question. I don't. I would love it if they took part in this early season trade fiesta that seems to be upon us. It would be really nice if they did it sooner rather than later because here's the thing.

[02:44:22]

The Vancouver Canucks almost did a super smart thing last year before the playoffs. They traded for Lindholm and Zadorov with like in like November, December, remember that? And then they realized now we don't really like Elias Lindholm, let's trade him. So they almost retraded him before the trade deadline and they weren't able to get a deal done. But they were like this guy's doesn't fit us. And if you watch them in the playoffs you can kind of see why they felt that way, right? I think the Leafs make a trade now. If I were them, I would Love to see them make a trade now and and then. See if that works. CDT Auto who would you want for a third center target? Would you want Buickstad Nelson? Gord My my two top guys are Ryan O'Reilly and Brock Nelson. I think, I think Brock Nelson would be unbelievable and I just don't know if like what he cost you, but Brock Nelson on the Toronto freaking Maple Leafs, man, I would love to see that guy unleashed too on like a little bit more of an offensive team because then you compare like Matthews, I would say like Matthews Domi because they had chemistry last year.

[02:45:41]

I would say martyr Tavares and then try Nylander Nelson. Bonkers baby. Bonkers Lemon and friends. Adam, what's the secret to a long lasting marriage? Well, the longest marriage I've had is so far, two and a half years. So I'll let you know when it's long lasting. But I would say that thus far respect and patience. Respect, patience, kindness. Even when you're tired and frustrated or hangry or whatever really makes a difference, if you start to feel your hackles get up a little bit, you get a little annoyed, take a minute and go why am I annoyed? Is it really worth it? And oftentimes it isn't. Ryan O'Reilly fanboy, why trade for a guy that didn't want to be here? I agree with you, but he didn't hate it when he got here. I think it was. You got to remember where the Leafs were at that time too. The Leafs didn't play good playoff hockey that entire like they went to the second round because Ilya Samsonov was unbelievable. They didn't go to the second round because they outplayed Tampa. Tampa outplayed them. And then when they got to the second round and Sammy was injured, Joseph Wall walked in and he played great but nice.

[02:47:07]

Gets crushed by Bennett like Tor, you get torpedoed and doesn't play the rest of the series. The Leafs have no answer because they don't get to the front of the net at that point. Sheldon Keefe and Kyle Dubas just did not create a team that did that. And now you're seeing what happens when they're trying to get them to do that. I think that Ryan O'Reilly may have had a point when he said they need to deemphasize the core and what he meant by that when he left was like, hey, these guys can't do it all and the way they're doing it is not going to get you anywhere. And the guys want a cup and a con Smythe maybe listen to him. And guess what Treliving said the first press conference that he got here. We're going to deemphasize the core. And he has, weirdly enough, last year he didn't, you know, with some of the signings they made. But you look at where their goaltending has come and their defense has come and you go, it's so much better. And that when you make other parts of the team better, it de emphasizes the core.

Right? So that's what I would say. Pickleball. Pat. I got 52 years of marriage. The secret is learn how to apologize. I like that. I like that. J. Diesel. Adam looks like he sold coke to Pablo Escobar. That's good. You're going to a sporting event, Rickman. You're going to a sporting event with a fan. Giveaway. What's the best type of giveaway? T shirt, hat, etc Jersey giveaway. Jersey giveaway all day or you know, sometimes when they throw like a T shirt out but it comes down in that parachute. I think that's really cool. I like that. Leaf should trade for Thomasino. No, the Pens already did that. That's fine. They can have him. Thank you for this. Sam Elliott and the what's his name? I hate and I can't even think anymore. Tom Selleck. Tom Selleck. Adam, could you grow a twirly villain mustache? I could. James Stemmler Taylor hall get his first hat trick in 11 years tonight. Well, good for him. Good for him. Richard Tofino. The best giveaway is hockey stick giveaway so you can hit idiot fans with it. Robert Bett. What about Morgan Frost from Philly? I like Morgan Frost a lot.

[02:49:31]

He's young, he's very good. The question is what's he cost and if it's not that much because he's not. I don't think he's. I don't think he's a torts guy. A lot of players are not. Does he fit? I don't know. I like Morgan Frost a lot, though. I think it's a good fit in certain ways. Oh, I like that man. Hayden, how many people are you adding to this? Adam needs a cowboy hat and aviators. The problem is my head is too freaking large to fit any hat. We went to Nashville and Justin will attribute attest to this because he came to the store with us. So they go, we go to a cowboy hat store and we're trying to get Steve a cowboy hat and trying to get Jesse one, trying to get me one. And this happened to Me in Calgary too, where Stampede is a big deal. They did not sell them in my size. I was bigger than their biggest size. That's how big my head is. It's huge. Hogwash. Ottawa Live, when we're working on it. We're working on it. Sophia Vladson. Adam, I love you. You're my fave on stpn.

[02:50:42]

Thank you, Sophia. I appreciate that. I love you. Ah, that's really nice. Get a custom made cowboy hat. Well, okay. Yeah. For what? Why am I buying a custom cowboy hat? For what? Hi, Adam. New NHL fan and Leafs fan. Been following him for a couple months now. Marner is awesome and my favorite player. He should be getting an extension at some point, right? The Ron Burgundy pictures up there now too. Thanks, Aiden. Yes, Marner will get an extension, but I don't think they're going to do it before the playoffs. I was hearing that maybe they would. I think the contract demands are likely pretty high because he's played extremely well and I think if the Leafs sign him before the playoffs, before they see what he can do in the playoffs as a manager and your public perception, you. You could look really bad because if he goes out there and he lays an egg like he did last year and you've just signed him to a big fat contract, you're going to have like riots in the streets. Yeah, I think. Here's what I honestly think too. Marner is a fabulous, amazing hockey player, but at a certain point, he's going to have to decide whether he wants to take the most money or he wants to play in Toronto.

[02:52:02]

If he wants to make max term, max money, there's a lot of teams that'll sign him to that and they will be happy about it. Toronto does not have the room to do that. And Matthews is going to be the highest paid player on this team and he should be. At a certain point, you want to stay here, you want to be here, you're going to have to give a little. That's what it is. And it's not because he's a bad guy. It's just because that's the way it is. Yeah. So. Okay, guys, I'm gonna wrap it up. I'm sorry it wasn't a better game for the Leafs, but it was great to have you all along. Gripper Nation. Just. Just having a fantastic, fantastic year. You guys are sticking with me all the time and I love it. I'm going to be back Wednesday next week and what we're going to start to do is post a schedule of when my streams are going to be because they're going to be different days every week, but next week is Wednesday night and because I'm going to the Monday night game against Chicago and we're going to do games right up until the 23rd of December.

[02:53:16]

The Islanders game is at 2 o'clock in the afternoon against the Leafs and we've got all the schedule basically planned out for the remainder of the regular season and we'll worry about the postseason when the postseason comes, but it's going to be wild. So love you all. Thank you so much for being here. Thank you for donating to my mustache. And don't forget there's a few more, a few more days left for Movember. And I love you guys all.
