[00:00:38]

See if we unleash a torrent of h fire, if you know what I mean.

[00:00:44]

I know what you mean. Big 1.

[00:00:45]

Where you at, bro?

[00:00:47]

I'm in, Summerkoff, Bulgaria.

[00:00:51]

Ah, Summerkoff. But and I I imagine it's fucking terrible there. I the it's snowing it's snowing in New York right now, so it has to be cold out there, summer cough, but I bet the borscht just went

[00:01:03]

in the borscht. It's snowing here. Yeah. Snow's everywhere.

[00:01:07]

Yep. Gloves? Do you think it's like a put a a a little b move to wear gloves?

[00:01:14]

I'm not a glove guy. No.

[00:01:17]

What about when you ride on your Harley Davidson?

[00:01:20]

I don't have a Harley, and, if I did, then I'll be a glove guy, a leather 1 with, like, but with the fingers open.

[00:01:30]

Maybe some assless chaps, complete look.

[00:01:33]

No tys. No tysing. No tysing. No tysing.

[00:01:36]

I thought he looked good at doing it. I think that's how style works. Like, suddenly 1 guy's wearing assless chaps, and then, like, you go out in New York and, like, construction workers are wearing assless chaps. I mean, that's how fashion works. You know how Birkenstocks?

[00:01:49]

Birkenstocks were, like, out of style and, like, weird. Now everybody's wearing Birkenstocks. You got Birkenstocks? No. You that's the perfect cop is some Birkenstocks, bro.

[00:01:59]

Get some for Christmas for someone.

[00:02:01]

What's that? What's Birkenstock? Put me on. I don't know.

[00:02:03]

There's, like, brown slippers that look like you're a college student in 1960 on Princeton's campus or something like that. Perfect. Birkenstocks.

[00:02:13]

Yeah. I've I've never been to Princeton.

[00:02:15]

Birkenstocks, assless chaps. So it's kind of the the style of the season that's going around, but it is officially the holiday season. How do you feel it over there? Are there nice town squares in Bulgaria where you can see a Christmas tree, or do they even have that yet?

[00:02:31]

They got some decorations up. I've seen some lights I've seen some lights.

[00:02:39]

I love dude, I love going around in the holiday season. When I was in Paris, just seeing the trees go up in New York, seeing everybody out selling freshly cut Christmas trees on every corner, That that warms my soul.

[00:02:51]

Tree guy or a fake 1?

[00:02:53]

I wanna say I'm a real 1, but that would be a dirty lie. I got a fake 1 that I keep in my closet.

[00:02:59]

Yeah. My grandmother, she's, rest in peace, her sweet soul. She she was a real Christmas tree type of gal. And,

[00:03:07]

Oh, I see what you're saying.

[00:03:09]

And and when I got older, I wanted to kinda keep that tradition going, but I didn't know how hard it was to consistently get a a real Christmas tree due to them in the NBA. I travel a lot, so I got the fake 1. And my cousin told me, how dare you disrespect, like, her like that? She's rolling around in her grave.

[00:03:30]

She can't be that mad. I mean, if you had the chance to go real, I think you'd be a real a real treat, bro.

[00:03:37]

So check it out. So our Christmas, right, if you if you follow the pod, and then you would know the history of everything, right? I'm the only child. My mom I have a sister, but now but growing up, I was the only child. And we've heard, you know, my grandma adopted 11 kids, 6 boys.

[00:04:00]

Good father. Yeah. 6. 6 girls. 3 bedrooms.

[00:04:07]

3 bedrooms originally, then it turned into 4. She knocked that back out. So Christmas, in our household, you have to understand is, probably the best holiday, especially for, like, my cousins, because they come from a background where they don't get a lot of you know, they never celebrated Christmas, or they might not got toys. I had 1 cousin who never celebrated Christmas, and I had 1 cousin who hasn't celebrated Christmas in 4 or 5 years. So each person had a different story for their Christmas.

[00:04:40]

So granny, she sections the tree off 12 ways.

[00:04:50]

Everybody gets a stripe. Everybody gets a piece of pie. It's

[00:04:54]

the little kids are are stuff is on the tree. You know, the stuff is hanging, and their toys are lined up on their section. 11 sections, bro. Real tree. We all she all bought, like, fro like, 20 things of, like, the frosting, so we spraying frosting everywhere.

[00:05:11]

She was heavy and blue. So so so the whole tree was blue. Blue bulbs, blue lights, blue candy canes. Every kid there had a gift. It was me remembering Christmas was probably the best holiday I can remember.

[00:05:26]

Just the the smile on all the kids' faces and, you know, obviously, I got a lot more toys and a lot of, you know, lot of my cousin because, you know, I'm I'm, you know, I'm I'm I'm I'm real blood. Not saying that they're not real blood, but I got taken care of different. My mom, you know, she gave me toys. My granny gave me toys. My aunt gave me toys.

[00:05:44]

So I was getting a lot of toys from everybody. But I

[00:05:47]

was like, wow. With the extra toys or what, or did we share in a toy?

[00:05:50]

No. No. You know, me. Come yeah. Yeah.

[00:05:52]

Let's go shoot pool. I got this, you know, cheap ass pool set. Let's shoot some pools. So I was cool. You know what I'm saying?

[00:05:57]

But everyone knew like, my grandma called me special. So everyone knew that special was kinda getting, more gifts than than than everybody, but everyone adapted to it. Right? But

[00:06:08]

That would make me salty as hell if I was 1 of the other kids. Funny package. The gets the real Super Soaker 9000. I'm over here with the Super Soaker 450.

[00:06:18]

Right. Right. But don't be like that. Because last year

[00:06:21]

was 4. Easy for you to say. You have everything, the haves and the have nots.

[00:06:27]

I I feel that, but what I didn't have was siblings. It's like, you know, it was families there that were sisters and brothers, and, you know, another group come in, 2 brothers, 2 sisters. So I'm the only child. You know? So I kinda felt like I was left out too in the midst of everything.

[00:06:45]

You understand what I'm saying? Okay. You know? So, like

[00:06:48]

People play around.

[00:06:50]

Right. So before our Christmas, granny set it out, man. She set it out. She set it out. She set it out.

[00:06:57]

It was unbelievable. Every kid had a toy. You know what I'm talking about? Multiple toys, not like no cheap shit. The night shit.

[00:07:04]

You know? Like, had Jordans hanging on a tree. Like, real night shit. Like, she did it. She did it.

[00:07:09]

So Christmas is a big thing for the Beverly household. So So happy merry Christmas.

[00:07:13]

Happy merry Christmas to you, my brother.

[00:07:15]

Time in Israel. Happy Hanukkah.

[00:07:19]

Happy Hanukkah for real too.

[00:07:21]

For real. I I

[00:07:22]

always associated the blue lights with our Jewish brothers and sisters that you the Jew light the blue lights on the Christmas tree.

[00:07:29]

The Jew light? What did you say?

[00:07:31]

I associated blue lights outside of a house with Jewish people.

[00:07:35]

Okay.

[00:07:36]

Yeah. I just thought that that that's what I associated it with.

[00:07:39]

Oh, okay. Nice. Nice. Maybe my granny was trying to tell me something.

[00:07:42]

Yeah. Maybe she was calling her shop because it is, like, the colors of the flag and everything.

[00:07:46]

Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Beautiful colors too. The blue.

[00:07:49]

Yeah. It brings out your eyes.

[00:07:51]

It does. It does.

[00:07:53]

So, yeah, it's just an exciting time of the year. I might go see the Rockets or, like, Elf the Musical or something like that.

[00:07:59]

Treat my a real thing in your household?

[00:08:03]

I have a friend of the family, they just they have some young children, and they the kid just is due to lose a tooth on Christmas, and they're worried about the tooth fairy and Santa Claus coming head to head, how does the tooth fairy get in the house? Are they gonna be going down the chimney simultaneously? What if the tooth fairy gets squished up against the side of the chimney or something like that? What if they don't get along? What if the tooth fairy gets there first and eats the the cookies and milk?

[00:08:35]

You know? There's a lot of things that we could run into. So are you do you on the side of tooth fairy or Santa Claus? Because I it was real at my time.

[00:08:43]

So in my time, it was real. In my my children's time now, no. Not real.

[00:08:51]

Oh, you said dad does it. You take all the credit and take the magic out.

[00:08:56]

Yeah. I'm, yeah, I'm I'm the 2 fairy, and I'm Santa Claus. But you gotta think of Chicago. For us, it was different. Like, you got 12 motherfucking kids looking at the TV, and then the channel 9 news is telling us, oh, 0, Santa Claus is on on the south side, and he's making his way over to the west side of Chicago.

[00:09:14]

You guys gotta better hurry up and get get to sleep. And we're running in there, and we we we be putting blankets over right here, getting to sleep, and we we leaving cookies out. And, you know, 1 day, I tapped my cousin, and, yo, crack the door. You know, man, sent out there. I mean, crack the motherfucking door.

[00:09:34]

Stop acting scared. He cracked door. Door don't have lock, you know? So it's like you can just You feel me? But not too much.

[00:09:46]

But if you lift it a little bit, it don't make sound. So you have you know, you have to lift it a little. Lift it? I see moms out there. I see granny out there.

[00:09:55]

I see granddad out there. I see my auntie out there. I look at my cousin, and I hey, bro. Ain't no son out there, bro. He not gonna let me see you look out there.

[00:10:07]

Mind you, we're like 10, 11 years old, bro. Like, we go to sleep sick, sick. And damn, bro, ain't real. He ain't real. He ain't real.

[00:10:20]

We wake up the next morning like this, side eye. My granny, what's wrong with y'all? You know, me, who ate the cookies, the milk? Oh, Santa Claus came late. I know he did.

[00:10:32]

I've seen y'all. Y'all was getting a gift. She boy, you better not say nothing like that. Oh, I'm sorry, girl. I'm sorry.

[00:10:36]

I'm sorry. Yeah. Yeah. So I found out Santa Monica yeah. My my experience in Santa Monica was, I still got PTSD from it.

[00:10:43]

That's probably why I I tell my kids about Santa and, the tooth fairy. That's probably why.

[00:10:50]

The most messed up thing about your whole story is that all your cousins probably just thought for the first 11 years of your life that Santa just liked you better. They were like, why is Pac getting a lot of presents, and we're only getting, like, a couple presents? They're probably like they internalized it. They probably would rather think that it was, like, your mom or your grandmom.

[00:11:10]

How was it turkey day?

[00:11:12]

It was,

[00:11:13]

forget about Thanksgiving.

[00:11:14]

I'd rather forget about Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is just like, a little bit 1 note for your boy. You know? No not a lot of worship. You can't you don't even get to go to church.

[00:11:24]

You know what I mean?

[00:11:26]

I was in Sofia I was in Samarkov, Bulgaria again.

[00:11:30]

Did they give you a turkey? Did they celebrate over there?

[00:11:33]

Nothing. Damn. I ate chicken wings.

[00:11:38]

Just to be close? Just to be close to the turkey?

[00:11:41]

And and then I had to put some on it the day before, like, hey, fellas. Y'all know tomorrow Thanksgiving? I was like, yeah.

[00:11:47]

Yeah.

[00:11:49]

Come on a plane. Like, yeah. Happy Thanksgiving. 2 people. Yeah.

[00:11:52]

Happy Thanksgiving. Damn.

[00:11:55]

Damn. You didn't even get to give thanks this year.

[00:11:57]

Man, I'm telling I'm calling back home on FaceTime, and I'm I'm I'm put put the phone by the food. I'm doing I'm doing this, man. Oh, man. I'm calling this household. Calling this household.

[00:12:07]

Calling this household. Oh my god.

[00:12:10]

Yeah. You guys still watching the football games? Yeah. I tell

[00:12:13]

you that. Handicaps?

[00:12:15]

The handicaps?

[00:12:17]

Oh my goodness.

[00:12:18]

At least go out to, like, a little steakhouse or something like that?

[00:12:21]

I am in Soma Cove, and I am in the mountains wrong.

[00:12:25]

They have to have 1 good restaurant.

[00:12:27]

It's nothing out here.

[00:12:28]

They don't have 1 good restaurant?

[00:12:30]

It's nothing out here. I can't compare it to anything that I've ever seen before in my life.

[00:12:37]

How are the wings?

[00:12:39]

They were light skinned. It was the goat color. And I didn't

[00:12:46]

even have no Louis

[00:12:47]

I know I didn't even have no Louisiana. I had Tabasco. You know, you can't get Tabasco wings, man.

[00:12:53]

Well, so what did you what did you season them with? Was there any type of hot sauce? Were they tossed or rather any in anything or fried or what?

[00:13:01]

No. No. Just, like, half baked wings. Like

[00:13:06]

Oh, bro. That's bad. I'm not saying you gotta get out

[00:13:10]

of there. Different on the menu. They had cheeseburgers.

[00:13:13]

Okay. Something for the Americans.

[00:13:15]

Yeah. So that was my turkey day, bro.

[00:13:18]

That sucks. I hope you had some fucking wine or something.

[00:13:24]

Oh, yeah. I got drunk. Yeah. If I had to eat my food, I showed I still got a little little bit of that devil's juice.

[00:13:31]

You know you're a millionaire. Right?

[00:13:34]

I do.

[00:13:36]

Okay.

[00:13:37]

Sweet. I'm in summer cold, but what do you want me to do? Hey. Who?

[00:13:41]

Yeah. I guess there's a bunch of millionaires out there. There's millionaires. There's millionaires everywhere. I guess that's the the moral reason.

[00:13:48]

Pay for a turkey. I can't you can't order food here wrong.

[00:13:51]

You coulda get to there's gotta be a farm or something that you're going by to that, or at least like a lamb or something you could slaughter.

[00:13:59]

So, yeah, that was my Turkey day. I was smelling food through the phone.

[00:14:04]

Yeah, that's bad. That's, that that's but I'm, but I'm happy that, you know what I mean? It didn't affect your attitude or your thankfulness. I also think it's an overrated holiday as long as your your Christmas is or, you know, your your wintery holiday is good, whether it be Hanukkah or Christmas, Kwanzaa, whatever, you you know, Chinese new year, whatever you celebrate.

[00:14:22]

Yeah. So,

[00:14:25]

amazing. We also I had this wedding, and they had a there was a a all time high of Mikes. There was 18 Mikes at the wedding.

[00:14:34]

Get the fuck out of here.

[00:14:35]

Swear to god, bro. 18 Mikes.

[00:14:38]

I woulda got on the mic and said, Mike.

[00:14:41]

You probably could have, and that's not counting. There were some guys, middle name Mike, who didn't wanna steal Valor because they thought that they wouldn't be accepted by the real Mikes.

[00:14:50]

Are you serious?

[00:14:51]

It was truly insane. 18 Mikes. Let me see if I can find a picture of all 18. See, look. Here's all 18 Mikes.

[00:14:58]

It's all simultaneous, so you probably can't see them, but there's 18 of those Mikes right there. And then so this isn't gonna give anything away, but, so there's 18 Mikes, and then after the wedding, 1 of the 18 Mikes, he he got fucked up. Okay? And so after the wedding, he found himself throwing up in the back of of this dude's car, this Indian bro's car, and the Indian bro came around. It was like, I'm not an Uber.

[00:15:25]

Like, he he was like, I'm not an Uber at all.

[00:15:28]

What's his name Mike?

[00:15:30]

He he could've been. He could've been a type of Mike, and then so another non Mike Mike had to come and grab Mike and gave the guy $20 for the throw up in the back and then threw him in another Uber, and he was driving home in the other Uber. It was just the it was it was 1 of the 18. We could play a game of Clue, but it was it was a insane night to be a Mike in the city. The groom's name was Mike too.

[00:15:55]

So Groose men there were multiple groose men that were Mike family members of the bride named Mike. There were Mikes everywhere.

[00:16:02]

That's wild. So in my in my neighborhood, Hood OG OG older guy, used to call me black. Yeah. Little little black, you know, you ain't drunk until you throw up.

[00:16:22]

Oh my god.

[00:16:24]

Awful advice.

[00:16:26]

Awful. Did you did you put it into practice?

[00:16:29]

I mean, it hit me 1 day when I was in college, when I was kinda toe up to the flow up, it hit me then. Like, oh, man. I guess today, I'm I'm drunk for real. Like, yeah. I guess We're

[00:16:39]

stuck in a drunk.

[00:16:42]

But 18 mics is wild.

[00:16:46]

8 well, I mean, your uncle telling you that is wild. I feel like that's sabotage. How old were you when he told you that?

[00:16:53]

I don't know. Maybe 13?

[00:16:55]

You spent the next 5 years trying to figure out why you felt drunk but weren't.

[00:17:02]

Well, I

[00:17:02]

guess I'm not actually drunk. So Officer Stauff

[00:17:05]

sees when you're like,

[00:17:06]

hey. I'm not actually drunk.

[00:17:08]

Right. I just had I I haven't thrown up yet. Yeah. What do you mean I haven't thrown up? I'm not drunk.

[00:17:13]

Hey. So did anyone on purpose just say Mike and just see what happened?

[00:17:18]

I think there was just mics abounding. I mean, they're mic chanting. They make everybody feel less than. You know, I'm sure that you've been in such situations where there's lots of pats, but, I mean, 18 is 18 is unprecedented.

[00:17:30]

I've never had it may be 2 pats, not 16 more.

[00:17:36]

16 more is insane. But, yeah, it was it was such a fun wedding. It was so fun to just dance.

[00:17:40]

How do you say more? Say more? More. Moe. Oh, okay.

[00:17:45]

So so that was just me? No Moe.

[00:17:48]

No. No. It was, there there were, there were no Moe than, like yeah. No more than 18 Mikes. But it was a fun time, fun to be able to connect with everybody, fun to see friends, fun to exchange old stories.

[00:18:02]

You know when everybody's the next day just sitting around in a circle telling stories? That's some of the best times of all the

[00:18:08]

Who's the who's the best man?

[00:18:11]

This guy named Colin.

[00:18:12]

Not Mike?

[00:18:13]

Not a Mike. But it was a guy named Colin.

[00:18:17]

How was his speech?

[00:18:18]

It was incredible. He has he kept saying in the speech he has bad anxiety, and then everybody was just laughing, eating out of the palm of his hand, loving everything he said. It made me think afterwards, he didn't have fucking anxiety. He just didn't wanna be bothered by anybody. He just doesn't feel like fucking going anywhere, and he just thinks people are corny.

[00:18:35]

So he just he doesn't have real anxiety. I think he was faking it the entire time. His speech was fucking incredible.

[00:18:42]

Well, how was the bride? Was she something out of a a a a beauty magazine?

[00:18:47]

It was like reading an episode or reading a copy of Vogue magazine. It was like reading a copy of Cigar Aficionado Magazine

[00:18:57]

smoking. Love that. You know

[00:18:59]

what I mean? It was fantastic.

[00:19:01]

How was that first dance? What song did they play?

[00:19:05]

They played, I think some a Tyler Childers song. Country. A little country. It was nice. Yeah.

[00:19:13]

It will. It's the big show they play.

[00:19:17]

I got a woman

[00:19:19]

way over town.

[00:19:21]

That's good for me. Oh, yeah. And then the I ain't

[00:19:28]

saying she a gold digger.

[00:19:29]

Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.

[00:19:31]

Speaking of speaking of, gold digging,

[00:19:35]

That's a nice gold watch you have.

[00:19:37]

Thank you. Is there any conversation? Because I've never been in a wedding. I've always I've been to a wedding, but I've never been in a wedding. Are there conversations beforehand like, man, I had to make a sign of prenup, man.

[00:19:53]

Like, is is, like, is that any is prenup or any business discussed pre wedding with the guys?

[00:20:00]

We we didn't talk about it, but I don't think my group of friends I don't think we're in that prenup, tax bracket. You know what I mean? I think that that might be your group of friends.

[00:20:11]

No. No. No. No. I'm just asking a question that I don't know the answer to.

[00:20:15]

That's all I'm doing.

[00:20:16]

Well, it's something that you need to have because when she leaves your ass, she's gonna leave with half. That's no

[00:20:23]

18 years. 18 years.

[00:20:25]

And on 18th birthday. And you know the rest of the home on a prenup,

[00:20:29]

but I'll get married.

[00:20:30]

Yeah. I bet you're not. You just I know what the financial situation is. It might not be your call.

[00:20:37]

You're gonna be like, I'm not signing my fucking my foot be on a prenup. Exactly. That's what I mean. Hey, Pat, come on. Sign this.

[00:20:43]

These motherfucking papers for you before you walked out as Al, my boy.

[00:20:47]

What NBA player was that? Or she didn't sign a prenup. And then right before the wedding, who was it? Steven Jackson, Richard Jefferson? Who was it?

[00:20:56]

No. What about with with, coach Sanders? He walking his kids down to the football field. Ex wife comes. He tharted

[00:21:06]

out. I'd never seen did you I thought he could still play with the way that his hips flipped over there. He looked like a defensive back.

[00:21:12]

I didn't think he could move that fast no more.

[00:21:14]

He flew out of there. He

[00:21:16]

was toast.

[00:21:17]

He looked like Sonic the Hedgehog, dude. He got the fuck out of there.

[00:21:20]

Him or tails. 1 of the 2.

[00:21:23]

Is it is it that bad to see your your ex ex wife or something like that? You know?

[00:21:27]

I don't have an I don't have an ex wife wrong.

[00:21:29]

Your kid's parent?

[00:21:32]

I've I've I've good relationships with my children. My wife So

[00:21:35]

you wouldn't have ran out of there like that?

[00:21:39]

No.

[00:21:41]

I think it's sometimes important around the holidays to if parents break up, I think it's important around the holidays to show a sign of, unity, for the kids because it wasn't the kid's decision.

[00:21:56]

Of course.

[00:21:56]

You know? Sometimes

[00:21:57]

people will

[00:21:58]

make it weird, or they'll make someone travel to this place or that. I think that the best thing you could do in that situation is show unity and don't make it more uncomfortable on the kids.

[00:22:10]

Yeah. I agree with that. I think that's a sign of maturity too.

[00:22:14]

So are we gonna go prime and mature?

[00:22:18]

Or just that case? I mean, they're older now. Right? But when you don't do that, that you're showing your children that it's okay to hide things. Right?

[00:22:27]

And you don't wanna open that case because that's a whole different case. You know? So, like, when you do that, you kinda open up a whole box that you don't really wanna open. So I think maturity is the is the most important, especially in that in that type of situation.

[00:22:40]

While we're talking about Colorado football, did you see Travis Hunter's girlfriend giving him attitude after the game?

[00:22:47]

No.

[00:22:48]

So Travis Hunter, after the game, goes over, grabs his girlfriend out of the stands. She's in her, like, you know, nice winter gear, grabs her, like, starts giving her a kiss, and she's giving him attitude on the field, basically saying, like, he was, like, waving at the cheerleaders or something. He was, like, I was just talking to the crowd. Someone lip read the situation, and she's given him attitude, and you could tell that even in his post game interview, he was completely taken off of his game. I think that that's so inappropriate by her.

[00:23:17]

I think that it says

[00:23:19]

We don't know wrong. We don't know. We don't know. I know. Don't do

[00:23:21]

it in public. Don't do it in public then. We have no reason to throw him off his game while he's still at the game. I think that's so selfish.

[00:23:30]

Yeah. Yeah. But we don't know outside looking in. Maybe it was you know? You know, you got to look at situations.

[00:23:36]

You know? Lost her parlay or something like that.

[00:23:39]

Yeah. But we just we don't know. We don't know. But, yeah, that is fucked up. I agree.

[00:23:43]

It is fucked up, bro. There's there's nothing that could make it that could make you, you know what I mean, have that that type of interaction in public to try to embarrass somebody and make them feel he he just caught 3 touchdown passes. He should he basically sewed up the Heisman. It should be 1 of the happiest days of his life. And his girlfriend is coming onto the field, giving him attitude or whatever, like, being like, you were talking you were looking at the cheerleaders.

[00:24:08]

Looking at the cheerleaders, that's insecurity on her part. Oh.

[00:24:11]

And if

[00:24:12]

that's what she's bringing to the table, then what what can she bring to the table in the long run? Unless she could bring some more more emotional maturity? I'm being serious, dude. That pisses me off.

[00:24:22]

How you gonna counsel this man girl? This man girl role.

[00:24:24]

Canceling her. She's not above criticism.

[00:24:27]

Girl like this role.

[00:24:28]

I'm not talking about it. I said how she acted was inappropriate. I don't know her, and I don't know her character. I saw her actions.

[00:24:33]

Listen. I'm trying to tell y'all. When you got somebody, like, wrong, I gotta I gotta grab them sometimes because sometimes you get a little rowdy, y'all, and sometimes you get a

[00:24:44]

little rowdy. We can't keep it real on this show. Of all places, dude, we can't keep it real and say that she acted inappropriately. If a guy acted inappropriately well, you gotta watch the clip. We gotta send can someone send Pat the clip so he could see that this woman was acting inappropriately?

[00:25:00]

We have to be able

[00:25:01]

to keep it real. Go ahead.

[00:25:02]

I got a question.

[00:25:03]

And I'll keep it real for you when you ask.

[00:25:06]

What what was her ethnicity?

[00:25:08]

I don't know. I don't even I didn't even notice. I think since she is, a light skinned black woman. Why? What does that, what does that play into it?

[00:25:18]

Which is more likely to act like what?

[00:25:26]

All women. All women. All women. You feel me? Like, it's it ain't it ain't it ain't a certain race when it comes to anything like that.

[00:25:33]

All women some shit like that happen. They all feel some type of way.

[00:25:38]

Oh. 0, you're on your phone right now, so you can't see it on your phone. He hugs her to give her a big kiss. She won't kiss him back, and she said, Why'd you do that? She pointed, and he was said, I was talking to the fans.

[00:25:50]

Oh, my gosh. It's reprehensible. It's reprehensible the way that she acted. He pulled her down from the stands. She leaned away from the kiss.

[00:25:57]

Oh, it was it was so I'm guessing a camera was right there in front of both of them.

[00:26:02]

Yeah. They I mean, they caught them from kind of afar, but, there was definitely cameras that she's going onto the field after the football game. That would hurt that would hurt my feelings if someone acted like that to me if they couldn't let me enjoy my moment.

[00:26:15]

Yeah. Jaylen. We call that Jaylen Hertz.

[00:26:19]

Jaylen Hertz?

[00:26:20]

Yeah. That Jaylen. That's Jaylen. That does hurt. You're right.

[00:26:23]

Oh, Jaylen. Oh, shit. Yeah. I I just I mean, it just bothered me. You know?

[00:26:30]

I didn't want him to be able to get away I didn't want people to be able to get away with that. Stand by your man like the song says.

[00:26:36]

Hey. You know what? I'm glad you're speaking up on that, Ron. That's that's big time.

[00:26:41]

Thank you, bro. Alright, guys. Let's take a second and talk about game time. Game time, basketball season is here, and we cannot wait to get out to some games this fall because that's where the memories are made. That is when you can root along these players, these teams.

[00:26:56]

[00:27:57]

What time is it? It's game time. Friends, can we talk about DraftKings really quickly? Is that something that we could do? Is that fair?

[00:28:07]

Because right now, the NBA is hot. I see everybody talking about the NBA. They're talking about it in the office. I go on the Internet. Everybody's talking about betting NBA.

[00:28:17]

I see the Yac. They're having these tournaments trying to bet on all these different let me they're betting on everything, NBA, and it has me jealous, and it makes you say, hey. I wanna bet NBA because it's so much more fun unless you get a little bit more into the action because you're following your favorite teams, you're following your favorite players. And when you're following those teams specifically well, when you're following those players specifically, you should be playing pick 6 from DraftKings, the official partner of the NBA. Super simple to get started.

[00:28:44]

1st, you download the DraftKings pick 6 app, then select 2 or more players and choose if they'll have more or less than a stat, like points, rebounds, 3 pointers. It's like, will they have more than this number or less than this number of a certain stat? And then you can track your picks for a shot at a huge cash prize, and, literally, that's all there is to it. It's so simple. It's so straightforward.

[00:29:07]

Pick 6 is available in states, including Colorado, Texas, Georgia, and many more, including Missouri. Okay, Missouri? We're not forgetting about you, Missouri, and all first time pick 6 players. Check this out. New customers pay $5 and get $50 in pick 6 bonus credits.

[00:29:23]

Oh, yeah. Hope you can hoop it up all season along with the newest, most fun way to play fantasy sports. Pick 6 from DraftKings. Down to the DraftKings pick 6 app now, and use code Rohn. That's code Rohn for new customers to pay $5 and get $50 in pick 6 credits now only on DraftKings pick 6.

[00:29:42]

The crown is yours. I got some, so people in the office I have my ear to the streets in the office. They're talking NBA, and I want you to be able to weigh in on the stuff that the common man, that the barstool sports bullpen is talking about because we're here in a sports fantasy job. We're sitting around the desk. We're just talking ball, Talking about football, talking about college basketball, we're talking ball.

[00:30:05]

And they get to talking basketball, and Hubbs fires this 1 out. He's like, Ron, do you think that Zion Williamson is a bust? I said, wow. That's an interesting question. He said, they're paying him $40,000,000 not to play this year.

[00:30:21]

He's hurt a lot of years, and my answer was this. I don't think that he's a bust until he gets to another team and isn't able to be successful in that other situation. Because I think a lot of the times, it's about the situation that you're in, and I think that this is a guy who's made all star teams and a guy who is a guy that will score 20 points a game. You can build your franchise around him if he's healthy, but health plays into it a lot, and so I want to know your criteria for what a bust is, and are we able to put him in that conversation yet? And I say the different team thing because you look at Ben Simmons, and Ben Simmons is a guy who is all defense.

[00:31:03]

Ben Simmons is a guy who makes all star teams, but I think that a lot of people right now will call Ben Simmons a bust.

[00:31:10]

And

[00:31:10]

so let's talk about what makes a bust, and does Zion fit that criterion. So

[00:31:17]

what normal folk, casual fan, non casual fan, person who likes basketball, person who watches basketball. When you watch basketball, you're watching professionals play.

[00:31:31]

Right. There's a whole different stratosphere.

[00:31:34]

Right. So with professional means eating right, taking care of your body, not being overweight, being on time, conducting yourself in a professional manner. Right? When you don't do those things, you can't be the talent that you need to be. Right?

[00:32:12]

If and it's so funny nowadays that they they they they give they give these guys and I mean these guys, like, this new generation of of of athletes, they give them so much fucking time. Right? They give them so much time. How how long has Zion's been in the league?

[00:32:30]

5 4 4 years? 5 years?

[00:32:32]

You know what I'm saying? Like, they didn't give Melo that time that enough time. They didn't get Dwyane that that amount of time. They didn't get LeBron James that amount of time. Like, it was now.

[00:32:43]

Do now. Be now. Be change now. Change my now. It's like this new generation.

[00:32:50]

They didn't Katie that that that much time. James Harden had much time. You know what I'm saying? Like, Russ that much time. They didn't give them 5 years.

[00:32:57]

I'm a gave motherfuckers 2, 3 years. Let's see who you are. But now this new generation of athletes, like, they can come in and be overweight, and they can take 5 years to get to where they need to get to. And, like, from that standpoint, I wouldn't say bust, but I would say not living up to your potential.

[00:33:20]

And I think that's why people are okay with him being overweight because they're like, ah, he's literally in there. You know what I mean? Like, the good, explosive, game changing player, the guy we saw at Duke, the guy that we see flashes of, the guy who has otherworldly bounce, like really nice finish, a guy who can be a disruptive terrifying force on the court. It's all it's frustrating to watch because you know that he could be great, but there's I mean, he hasn't done it yet, and I think that's where some of the disappointment comes from.

[00:33:52]

I agree. I wrong. I agree with you, Nes. I agree. Like, has he let people down?

[00:33:59]

Yes. Could he have? And should he be better? Yes. Injuries are injuries.

[00:34:08]

But, also, I've understood, like, I've had microfracture surgery. I had a huge knee surgery. You gotta lose weight. You can't put all that load on your body, especially if your your body ain't responding to it well. So you gotta make changes.

[00:34:25]

And that's not a food change or a diet change. It's a lifestyle change. You know what I'm saying? That shit's a lifestyle change. Right?

[00:34:34]

And I'm not here to pass I am, but, bro, it's been 5 years. Lock the fuck in, dawg. You know what I'm saying? Like, lock in. Because there's people out there who wish they'd be in your position.

[00:34:50]

And it's also players out there that's looking at motherfuckers like, damn. How the fuck they gave him? $40,000,000, man. He ain't even in I'm over here killing myself. You know what I'm saying?

[00:35:01]

I'm a second round guy, and I'm doing everything the right way. And just because of his name, he get rich, and he get this, and he get that. You know what I'm saying?

[00:35:09]

Like Also, guys who wish they were built like that. Who guys who were like, I would I would kill to have that physical profile and that natural explosiveness.

[00:35:17]

You gotta respect the game, bro. You gotta respect the game. Like, you gotta respect the game. And part of respect in the game is, you know, being a professional. You know?

[00:35:29]

I think it's fair. Yeah. I mean, it's the truth, though. That's the truth.

[00:35:34]

But I also think that he retains his trade value because every time I see, like, oh, earlier this year, Giannis is on the block. Let's look at what the proposed offer's for. Everyone has Zion and, like, Herb Jones and a bunch of 1st round picks. So it's like, okay. There's value because you could bring something back.

[00:35:51]

There's literally value there. And now

[00:35:53]

with Embiid, it's the same thing.

[00:35:55]

Yeah. I mean, Herb Jones is at least a proven commodity. Contract. Yeah. Herb Jones is like he's gonna be a defensive game changer for you, whereas Zion is like, you hope you hope 1 of those for you hope, like, you hope a 1st round pick turns into something.

[00:36:10]

You know what I'm saying? Sid, the game the game is just changing, man. The game is just changing. Like, I'm not saying, like it's just it's just used to be just so it used to be harder for you ain't give Dwight Howard 5 years. You know what I'm saying?

[00:36:28]

Like, motherfucker, now. They ain't give DeMarcus Cousins 5 years. Now. They didn't get Anthony Davis 5, 6 years. No.

[00:36:38]

Now. Change now. Change right now. Change our team right now. You know?

[00:36:42]

And this this new generation, they giving them so long to develop, and still paying them so much. And they still not develop or change anything in the league, or I've I've read something that some motherfucker, Who was that? Say motherfucker, the longest player never been to the playoffs is in, like, 8 years. I forgot who it was. It was wild.

[00:37:06]

It was wild. Like and he was like a a lottery pick.

[00:37:11]

It's crazy, but I I think that Zion also is, like he had has made his money because of, I think, the state that the New Orleans Pelicans are in, in that if they don't draft a guy and just pay him, they're not gonna wind up with a superstar unless they get, like, a crazy strike of luck. They're not gonna have

[00:37:31]

what do you mean? Like

[00:37:33]

no. I mean, I think that they should be able to attract a superstar, but, like, even look at Anthony Davis' early career there. Like, Anthony Davis is like, I gotta get out of here. I wanna be in LA because there's a higher ceiling, and he goes to LA, he wins a championship. There's probably

[00:37:48]

Davis Anthony Davis told him, I want you guys to draft Damian Lillard, and they didn't. That's why he left.

[00:37:55]

Did not know that.

[00:37:57]

Yeah. I know you yeah. Yeah. It's a difference. I want y'all to draft this person to make us better.

[00:38:03]

You guys don't? Y'all draft a big. What? I'm out, man. Alright.

[00:38:09]

And they ain't been the same since.

[00:38:11]

Yeah. They haven't. But it is tough for them to get these, top players, and they lucked out getting Anthony Davis. And it looked like they lucked out having Zion Williamson, but

[00:38:20]

It's not fair neither. Like, it's not fair to your teammates is not fair to the coaches. Because now you as a coach, you coming in the summer like, okay. Cool. I got Zion.

[00:38:32]

I got this person. I got this person. Like and as a coach, your coaching window, especially these, coaches who don't who don't have a lot of, you know, history, your your coaching window is 3 to 4 years, max. 3 years, you ain't had your main player. Now you're fired.

[00:38:54]

Totally. It's tough for the players around you. Everybody has to step into a role that maybe they're not comfortable in it. And best case scenario, they find out that they can hop into this role, but it's like Brandon Ingram and CJ McCall. You know what I mean?

[00:39:08]

Like, these guys, it's it's tough to put it together.

[00:39:11]

And then you don't play you don't play BI.

[00:39:15]

But you don't

[00:39:16]

play Zion.

[00:39:17]

That's weird too.

[00:39:20]

I I don't get it.

[00:39:21]

Sometimes a consistent you know, he's at least a consistent scorer. I mean, obviously, you'd rather have him right now than Ben Simmons, which there was a big debate about that before that draft class.

[00:39:31]

Played it played on the USA team, held it down. He didn't play a lot, but he was there.

[00:39:36]

The other thing I think that's an interesting conversation. The other thing people are talking about today in the office is the is the reward for winning the, the in season tournament in the NBA, is it, like, are we giving up too much letting a team get into the playoffs? Like, what what what should the what should the reward be? And 1 of the suggestions was that it should be now like a tiered system where if you're out of the playoffs, you win the end season tournament, now you're in the playing game. If you're in the playing game, then you win the end season tournament, you bump up into the top 6.

[00:40:11]

You're in the top 6. You bump into the, whatever, top 4 or something. You can elevate a level by winning this tournament as opposed to punching a ticket.

[00:40:21]

So, originally, when we heard about it, the end season tournament, we thought the winner was gonna get, like because they didn't they said it was something behind it, but we we you know, they they left it out. So we didn't know exactly what was behind it. We knew it was an incentive of of, you know, money, but we were thinking, like, oh, man. They they go you win this shit, man. They go give you automatic bids to the playoffs or give you home court advantage or or something.

[00:40:46]

Right?

[00:40:47]

Right.

[00:40:47]

That's what that's why we that's what we was thinking. The 1st year of anything is always good. Right? The 1st year of anything is always good. But the minute 1 team sits 1 player for an in season tournament game, it's gonna kill the whole system.

[00:41:07]

I think that's why Yeah. The is

[00:41:08]

the so the only incentive so I I was misspeaking. So the only incentive is the money?

[00:41:13]

Money. Yeah.

[00:41:14]

And so the question in the office was, do bros actually care about, like, a $500,000 check or whatever the money is?

[00:41:22]

Of course.

[00:41:22]

So but is that enough of an incentive to win, or do you think that the playoff stuff would be a better incentive?

[00:41:28]

I mean the playoff. What? What this does, though, wrong. Because you have to understand, the way the way the way the schedule is. Right?

[00:41:43]

Trade deadlines in February. Extension talks are usually November, December, January. So if you're 1 of those young thirsty teams, right, and you up for contract, but your team is playing bad, but y'all playing well in the end season tournament, not only do you get to earn more money by winning the tournament. Your stock kinda rises midseason with you guys losing. Like, you can be motherfucking 415 will be 3 and o in in in in season tournament.

[00:42:18]

You know what I'm saying? That gives you a different look. Like, okay. Cool. Man, I can go in there and talk about extension.

[00:42:24]

You feel me? Yeah. I know we I know we got awful in the regular season, but in an in season tournament, like, y'all been playing well. This could this could this cannot get me traded. This can this can get me traded.

[00:42:37]

I'm I'm playing bad. You know? I like the dates around it that they did it, because it it gives not only athletes the opportunity to win money, but give you an opportunity to gain more money if you do it the right way.

[00:42:50]

Yeah. I I was way more excited about it last year, I'll be honest. I know.

[00:42:55]

That was the first time. Yeah.

[00:42:57]

This year is still interesting. But I think that that's a good way to pivot into our kind of New Amsterdam starting 5. So what I wanna hit you with our New Amsterdam starting 5 this year, this week, is what give me 5 reasons why NBA viewership is down. New Amsterdam starting 5. 5 reasons why NBA viewership is down.

[00:43:19]

I know it's not down. My spirits, after drinking some spirits of some sweet, beautiful New Amsterdam vodka, the best vodka on earth. The the only thing that I want to pair with any type of apple or pear cider during this holiday season, the only thing that I wanna have mold while I'm mulling over where I'm going to go next as the snow is falling, the only thing that I wanna skate on before I ice skate because New Amsterdam vodka is my drinking companion this holiday season. The best stuff on Earth. Find your wins today with New Amsterdam Vodka, but let me know while we're in the New Amsterdam starting 5 5 reasons why NBA viewership is down this year.

[00:44:05]

Great question. Obviously, the number 1 reason is football. Alright.

[00:44:11]

As long as every year.

[00:44:13]

I know, but it's it's a it's a football seems to get bigger and bigger every year. Right? And as basketball players playing in NBA, when football season is it's it's it's currently

[00:44:27]

going on. Game.

[00:44:29]

Right. It makes it hard for viewers. Number 2 is injuries. Right? Not having your best product on the floor all the time, and that's something you can't control.

[00:44:47]

Right? You you you you can't control. 3rd is social media. Wow. Social you can watch a game without watching the game in 2 minutes and 12 seconds.

[00:45:04]

Right? You got all these guys doing these these oh, Kyrie Irving was cooking on Inside Out 2020. You know, you got you got, I don't know, 6 of these guys doing this. You got, what

[00:45:19]

is it called?

[00:45:20]

House of Highlights. You got Yeah. You know what I'm saying? Like, you got overtime. You got a bunch of these shit.

[00:45:26]

You got the Pat Ben and Pod. You got ESPN. You got a ton of places where you can just go to and just, okay, cool. I'm a just watch highlights.

[00:45:36]

Interesting. I thought you were gonna say social media from the kind of negative reductive standpoint that KD and, like, Rich Kleinman have kind of been talking about. Like, how people, use it as, like, only a negative way to interface with the NBA and NBA players. Yeah. There's another rash back of it.

[00:45:56]

Okay. Those those are good 3.

[00:46:00]

4th is, the way the game is being played. Right?

[00:46:13]

50 3 is a game?

[00:46:15]

A lot of people don't wanna see a lot of threes. It's it's it's funny to say. Alright? A lot of people just don't wanna see a motherfucker just shooting a whole bunch of threes. Obviously, if you're Steph Curry, it's different.

[00:46:25]

Right? But fans also need to know that the game is changing. You you want layups. You want free throws. You want spot threes.

[00:46:35]

Corner threes, spot up wing threes. You want spot up shooting threes. A lot of teams are hoisting a lot of threes.

[00:46:46]

Interesting. You

[00:46:46]

know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? And it's not a lot of the popularity of the players. Right? Trying to say how I can say this.

[00:47:13]

Like, when Melo was playing, he was gonna watch it. But his crowd, he had a big following behind him. Right? Everyone has a following now. Some took some type of following now.

[00:47:27]

And most of the people that's following, I don't know, a guy from Atlanta Hawks is also following a guy from the Utah Jazz. So everyone's following the same people, and so the popularity isn't like Obviously, LeBron James' game's gonna be big. Obviously, Steph Curry. But okay. Once you get out of those top 15, top 20 players and a motherfucker.

[00:47:55]

I see him when I see him. I see number 25 when I see him.

[00:47:59]

So is it level of popularity, or do you think that people are just, like, fans of the player?

[00:48:04]

Fans of the player.

[00:48:06]

Interesting. Interesting. That's a good 5. I don't know. For me, this has been a this is a stimulating conversation.

[00:48:12]

I feel like this has been a good episode, low key, if you just like to dig in on some fucking interesting combo type of shit.

[00:48:19]

Yeah. But but that's you feel me? Like, who you can name? Who's the 3rd best player in Atlanta Hawks?

[00:48:26]

That's a good question. Yeah.

[00:48:27]

Who's the 3rd who's the 3rd best player in Utah Jazz?

[00:48:31]

Yeah. It's a fair question. I mean, Cooper Fly will probably be, like, top top 2 on the on the team, you know, when that when it comes to that.

[00:48:38]

[00:48:42]

I mean, the cat 7 years ago, the the hawks had 4 4 all stars.

[00:48:47]

Type shit. You touch ass, have Rudy Gobert, Donovan Mitchell, and all the motherfuckers. It's like it's it's top heavy too. It's not top heavy anymore. You know what I'm saying?

[00:48:57]

Like, it's they're going you know? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:49:03]

I think it's fair. Yeah. It's an interesting thing to talk about because, I I I love basketball. I want everybody to love basketball. I want people to like what I like.

[00:49:12]

You know? I want people to be into what I'm into. I saw some nasty things about LeBron having maybe 1 of the highest streaks of missed 3 pointers of all time or something

[00:49:24]

like that. I mean, when you're when you're great, they gotta find something, don't they?

[00:49:29]

When you play that long, you know, you might run into some streaks like that. You think that his I mean, what is he? 22, 89, or something like that? So pretty good numbers. But do you think that

[00:49:40]

he 4 years old.

[00:49:41]

Do you think that he should still be shooting to get 82 games in the season, or do you think that he can kind of downshift and be like because that could be 1 of the other things that's haunting the league load management. He's at least trying to be like, hey. He probably had a talk with Adam Silver. Adam Silver was probably like, hey. We need you playing as many games as possible.

[00:50:01]

You're the big ticket. When people come to LA games, they wanna see you. When LA comes to town, they wanna see you. And they'll be sick if LeBron James isn't playing. He probably slid him like a little Finsky, a little, like, cryogenic chamber or something like that, hooked him up with some east German doctor or something like that.

[00:50:18]

He probably got him some kind of favor to be like, you're gonna try and play every single game this year, but that's hurting him.

[00:50:28]

Everybody go through a sis, Steph Curry went through a bad stretch of shooting last year, year before. Klay Thompson does. You know what I'm saying? You go through bad stretch of shooting. I don't think that's hurting you because I don't think you when you do everything, I don't think you can judge a person off him shooting if he's playing bad or not.

[00:50:46]

It's other ways that LeBron James affects the game of basketball. Being playing 82 games, he's fit for it. You know, like, obviously, he's getting older in age. But he he does a hell of a job of taking care of his body. Trust me.

[00:51:06]

I haven't seen it up close and personal. You

[00:51:08]

know? Beautiful body.

[00:51:09]

But if he but if he doesn't play, then guys make the media makes this whole thing, oh, LeBron doesn't play. That's why views are down. And if he does play, it'll go through a bad shooting stretch. Oh, LeBron James can't that just comes with greatness, man. It comes with greatness, bro.

[00:51:25]

It comes with greatness. Like, the good and the bad comes with greatness. I'm a also tell you something that shout out to my boy, Russ. We put out the clip with Russ. Russ texted me.

[00:51:36]

Hey, Pat. I appreciate you showing love. I know you fuck with the pot, So shout out to Russ. Russ I told Russ my response. Russ, I ain't gonna lie.

[00:51:47]

I ain't do it for you gang. I'm just speaking my truth. Oh, then

[00:51:52]

he was like, oh, well, then then, bro, I take my thanks back. I thought you were showing love.

[00:51:57]

That's all. I'm just speaking my truth, bro. That's my truth. My truth only that's how I feel.

[00:52:02]

That's that is love. Well, it is all love. I mean, I'm watching clips this week of him and Joker, like, playing together.

[00:52:09]

You see? You see? What what you watching?

[00:52:12]

Clips.

[00:52:13]

You ain't watching the game, is you?

[00:52:15]

I didn't I was I didn't watch the game this week. No.

[00:52:17]

You know what I'm saying? You see that?

[00:52:19]

I have watched multiple Nuggets games this year.

[00:52:23]

Agreed.

[00:52:23]

Agreed. Watched the the clips that I saw were highlighting their their, but you're right. You caught me dead you caught me deadheaded.

[00:52:31]

But that's everyone.

[00:52:34]

Not on Tuesdays Fridays especially. When we're You

[00:52:37]

know what I mean? That's everyone. Everybody's just watch everybody's just watching clips.

[00:52:43]

Yeah. It is. But but their chemistry is awesome. And he probably has never played with somebody of such high basketball IQ. I mean, especially someone that's that talented and that good of a passer.

[00:52:55]

And it's been a a while since he's had a a popping big. His his his, issues hang with he's really good with bigs that roll. You know? He's really good with bigs that roll. When he's even better with bigs, that pop, it gives him the lane to kinda do post little guards to give him the lane open lanes to drive.

[00:53:14]

It gives him other avenues to be good. You know? So he's thriving with the popping Biggs. That's important.

[00:53:21]

Yeah. The popping big. So do we you consider AD of popping big?

[00:53:27]

Sometimes. And most of his work is done on the block, and most of his work is iso work too. You know? Because most of his work is iso work. Most of his work is on the block.

[00:53:36]

Most of his work other work is free throws. So, yeah, he can pop, but it's not like a pops up. I'm a hit I'm a hit you in the head with 5 threes. No. I'm a pop to get space to kinda jab you, jab you.

[00:53:47]

Okay. Cool. I'm a work out this mid post like I'm Carmelo type of vibe. You know? With Jokic, Jokic can pop back, hit 3, Jokic can pop back, mid pop, catch it off the catch, shoot floater.

[00:53:58]

You know, like, Jokic is not like a dynamic roller. You know? He like the start roll type of vibe. So even with the short role, you still have space in the paint because he's not in there. You know?

[00:54:10]

So it's just a different dynamic and different players.

[00:54:13]

Good basketball talk.

[00:54:16]

Type shit.

[00:54:17]

The dynamic role, bro. I love a dynamic role. I love a dynamic roller. Have you were you ever able to play with, 1 of those free flowing, big men as a I know you play with some dynamic rollers.

[00:54:28]

Frank Capella.

[00:54:30]

Free flowing?

[00:54:32]

Zubac.

[00:54:33]

Zoo.

[00:54:33]

The White Howard.

[00:54:36]

Egypt, that the you think that Dwight Howard's not more of a dynamic role, or I would put him in the dynamic role or conversation?

[00:54:45]

I think when Dwight Howard rolls to the paint, I think 2 people have to be in the paint with Dwight Howard that opens up corner passes for Trevor Riza, Patrick Barely, Rayshard Lewis, JJ Radek type shit.

[00:55:00]

True. Rashaud Lewis, legend.

[00:55:04]

Man. You feel me? Giannis.

[00:55:08]

True.

[00:55:09]

Brook.

[00:55:11]

You don't think Brook's more of a popper?

[00:55:13]

I think he's more of a popper now, but when he played for the Brooklyn Nets, he was he's the best role in big in the NBA, and points in the paint, and his numbers bagged it up.

[00:55:22]

Big on the block, Brook, is what they called him because he was big on

[00:55:26]

the road. Hero.

[00:55:29]

It's a good ass list.

[00:55:31]

Yeah. Ney Ney.

[00:55:33]

Hilario.

[00:55:35]

Yeah. Play with Ney Ney a little bit too. So, yeah, I had some. 0 0 0, Omirashik. Oh,

[00:55:42]

Omar Sheik is sick. You never played with the Metmeadow core, did you?

[00:55:48]

No. No. I I I I didn't really see him.

[00:55:51]

But he was a legend, though.

[00:55:53]

Yeah. So, yeah, I have some I have some rolling beaks that kinda took up a whole bunch of spot, space in the paint. And next thing you know, kicking it out for 3 swing slings, playing off the catch, getting another 3 on the other side. So, yeah, that's what comes with dynamic rolling.

[00:56:06]

We I saw that, that Paul Millsap retired this this week.

[00:56:11]

I've just seen that too.

[00:56:12]

And we just got into a light conversation about, like, Paul Millsap listed at 67. Had to be 65.

[00:56:21]

No. 67.

[00:56:23]

Is there a rule for what height dudes lie about?

[00:56:28]

Yeah. My motherfucker gave me 62. I was so excited. Yeah. I'm 61 with some change.

[00:56:35]

I mean, I'm 6 foot and some change. My foot gave me 61. They gave me 62. Should I gave Derrick Rose 63?

[00:56:42]

I doubt. Really?

[00:56:43]

61, 62.

[00:56:45]

Yeah. They give people a little bit of extra. That's why I thought, are you sure that Millsap didn't get like a couple extra?

[00:56:51]

No. He's 6. He's 6, 6 and a half, 6, 7. But you gotta think the way they do it, they do it with,

[00:56:57]

the shoes,

[00:56:58]

the shoes, the shoes count.

[00:57:00]

Yeah. The shoes counting, I guess, is crazy.

[00:57:02]

My foot I thought

[00:57:03]

before the shoes yeah. I thought before the shoes, Millsap might be, like, 63. And then he's 2 inches of shoes, so he's 65. And he's we get boosted up with the extra 2 to 67.

[00:57:16]

Yeah. I ain't gonna lie. I'm I'm Ricky with the Miami Heat. Ron, the decision, he's on the team now. Mind you, if you, you know, if you if you ain't made the the roster, your locker room is in the bathroom.

[00:57:33]

You know what I'm saying? They put motherfucking lockers out of you know, so many people on the scene. They can't have everybody in the locker room. So the first you guys, you might be in the motherfucking bathroom as a motherfucking locker. You know, whatever.

[00:57:44]

And they doing their testing. And I'm in this bitch. Only thing I'm thinking in my head is, how tall is this motherfucker LeBron? Secondly, how much did this motherfucker weigh? I think they do I think they do height for the 6 eights and some change.

[00:58:05]

Damn. They do they do weight. That shit said 270.

[00:58:11]

Damn. He was 270?

[00:58:15]

Oh, my god. Perfect of athleticism. You hear me wrong?

[00:58:22]

He's gonna stay that way after he retires too. There's no way he could never slip into his Zion bod.

[00:58:29]

Oh my god. I'm talking about just pure grass fed human being, man. I'm talking about just pure muscle.

[00:58:41]

270?

[00:58:42]

Each leg, this big. Dang, yo. This leg size of my body.

[00:58:47]

That's infuriating.

[00:58:49]

Motherfucker tattoos bigger than me. Motherfucker tattoos.

[00:58:54]

Stained glass window tattoos.

[00:58:56]

Man, this motherfucker the ALJ is bigger than my motherfucker face, man. I say this man is the truth, man. He is the real deal.

[00:59:04]

Did you watch, Kai Sanat stream at all?

[00:59:07]

Oh, mafia thon.

[00:59:09]

Mafia thon was so good.

[00:59:11]

So great.

[00:59:12]

But did you see that, Bryce James was on there?

[00:59:17]

He next?

[00:59:18]

Yeah. He could be next.

[00:59:21]

He go be next.

[00:59:22]

You think that he really cooks Wagyu, though?

[00:59:25]

I didn't watch it. I didn't watch it throughout the scene, again, clips.

[00:59:29]

He said that he was gonna shoot, cook some Wagyu. Kevin Hart was like, I'm, I'm catching you in a lie right now. Like you do not, there's no way you're cooking up Wagyu. This can't be true. They're accusing him of capping on the internet, which I do not, you know, don't advocate for it, but it was it was so fun to watch the entire time.

[00:59:48]

No. Shout out to Cas Cas9. He he he he does a really good job. I heard my name was mentioned on on on there a couple times too. By whom?

[00:59:57]

I think 1 when Kyrie was on there talking about, my my kids missing to me. Dad, dad, dad, dad, dad, dad, you're on oh, I think they're talking about trash talkers, you know, competing and all that type of stuff, so I heard I was on there a few times.

[01:00:13]

That's love. That's love.

[01:00:15]

Yeah. Yeah.

[01:00:16]

I thought Kyrie did an awesome job on there. He's hilarious.

[01:00:20]

No. Great. I and I like the we go steal that today. We go start doing this. We go do a motivational speech before we get off each pod.

[01:00:30]

We're gonna start doing that. I like that.

[01:00:32]

Okay. Yeah. I would I don't mind stealing that idea from him. I'll motivate the shit out of somebody.

[01:00:37]

Yeah. Yeah. And and and and then is there is there a way we can add music to it?

[01:00:43]

Maybe like rights free music?

[01:00:45]

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Type shit was just like, meditation music. You know?

[01:00:49]

Not a lot of not any words. Just, you know, a little uplifting, motherfucker. You dig.

[01:00:54]

Yeah. I wouldn't mind uplifting somebody.

[01:00:56]

I'm with that as we go start that today. Or we

[01:00:58]

can hit them with a ballin', jamin', ballin'.

[01:01:04]

Yeah. I don't know that 1.

[01:01:05]

I know you wanna right? You know that dance they always do, bro?

[01:01:08]

No. I don't.

[01:01:09]

Oh, you're asleep, bro.

[01:01:10]

Oh, man. I I'm asleep. You gotta wake me up.

[01:01:13]

That's the least that I can do.

[01:01:15]

What about this EuroLeague this year?

[01:01:18]

I was just about to ask you, man. I wanted to get into what, because I've I'm following some of my favorite basketball players, and I see them crushing it. I'm seeing dudes like, first off, I saw Carson Edwards was leading the Euroleague in scoring, and I was like, what the fuck? Carson Edwards, he was sick at Purdue. But then I'm seeing names like Shane Larkin.

[01:01:38]

I'm seeing names like, Kendrick Nunn. I'm like, oh, these are dudes that Jabari Parker, guys whose story lines that I'm still invested in and following. Mirtich, Ballen over there. And so I wanna know, first off, can you tell me what the difference is between your league that you're in right now and the Euroleague?

[01:01:55]

It's a step under.

[01:01:57]

Step under?

[01:01:58]

Yeah.

[01:01:59]

Interesting. So it's it's like, I'm trying to think of what to compare it to because, like, I don't know. In, like, football, soccer, whatever. There's, like, the British Premier League and then, like, there's, like, a second British League, but then there's also, like, there's the, you know, German league and there's the fucking, the league in Spain and shit like that, the league in Italy. Is it is it like that, or is it, like, the 2nd league in England?

[01:02:26]

Or is it, like, just a league in a different country?

[01:02:29]

I I don't know a lot about soccer, so I don't know.

[01:02:31]

Fair enough.

[01:02:32]

You know what I'm saying? I I ain't go. You feel me? I wouldn't say if I was to compare EuroLeague to NBA, I wouldn't say that Eurocup is g league. Like, I wouldn't say that.

[01:02:42]

You know? I'll just say that

[01:02:45]

So maybe it's like, 1 is like ABC basketball, and the other 1 is, like, big 12 basketball or something.

[01:02:53]

Or or maybe you're you're 7th man or you're your 3rd or 4th option is the number 1 option in Eurocup now. I should.

[01:03:07]

Got it. Got it. So it just bumps there's there's just, like, a little bit deeper rosters or

[01:03:14]

Right. You know? So like I

[01:03:15]

said, talent well, talent that we're familiar with.

[01:03:17]

And yearly, they go play 10 they go play 10 motherfuckers.

[01:03:20]

Really? You know

[01:03:21]

what I'm saying? And 10 10 10 10 good motherfuckers too, not no. You know?

[01:03:26]

That seems like good tradition.

[01:03:28]

Yeah. So if you're, like, the 3rd guy, you would be, like, the main guy in Eurocup.

[01:03:34]

I mean, there's a lot of, I mean, teams that we're just super familiar with, that are over there. It's just interesting to watch. It's just interesting to watch the different atmosphere of you being over there.

[01:03:43]

You're talking about 42,000 fans at 1 game, Pantheonicals had. Right? You talk about different teams. You okay?

[01:03:51]

No. That's just an insane amount of fans. It gave me a crick in my neck.

[01:03:54]

Yeah. But you're talking about, like, getting to play in south of France, you know, getting to play in Paris. Like, you know, it's a guy over here named TJ Schwartz who's, like, you know, the Paris team is they won, like, 9, 10 in a row, And this is his 1st year plan. You know what I'm saying? Like, the crowd in the partisan, you know, the different teams in Turkey.

[01:04:18]

FS is really good. You know?

[01:04:21]

Yeah. The Barcelona teams, Lyon.

[01:04:23]

You know? So it's just it's just it's just a whole different monster. It's a whole different vibe. You know? It's just a whole different vibe.

[01:04:30]

And they have, like and and a lot of people don't understand about EuroLeague. Like, they have a, like, a a rule book almost with a copy from the NBA where you you have to report back. You don't have to report back. I don't know. In August, you can report back in September.

[01:04:45]

It's only so many practices you can have. Like, you know, they try to do it really well. They try to do it really well. We just found out that the the final 4 is not in Abu Dhabi. Like, you know, so, like, the Euroleague, they does it really well.

[01:04:58]

And that's the goal. Right? That's the goal. That's 1 of the reasons why I came over here to try to get this team to get to the Euroleague. Right?

[01:05:05]

So I think for anybody that's not in Euroleague, that's the goal. That's that's where you wanna go to.

[01:05:10]

Oh, unless you could elevate into it.

[01:05:12]

God. Yeah. So if you win Eurocup, you get an automatic bid to Euroleague.

[01:05:17]

Really?

[01:05:18]

Yeah. Yeah. So it's like a step of stone. That's sick.

[01:05:23]

Yeah. I didn't realize that, there's that much, you know, storyline behind it. I gotta keep an eye on the the Euroleague. Seems like it seems like a cool little vibe for your team to, you know, be pushing towards.

[01:05:35]

Yeah. I mean, that's the only vibe. Right? To win your domestic league with whatever country you're from, and then, you know, to win your your Euro cup to okay, man. I'm to contain the EuroLeague.

[01:05:45]

So, like, that's the vibe. Right? That's the vibe.

[01:05:49]

You gotta win win win no matter what, bro. Yeah. This episode and specifically this segment are brought to you by Cha Ching, BodyArmor Sports Water. And it's not only in front of me. Okay?

[01:06:00]

It's not only sitting here on my knee in a in a fresh beautiful bottle. It's inside of me. I have been drinking it, and it is actively hydrating, replenishing, reenriching me with the electrolytes and the vitamins that I so need from the alkali water of my choice. And everybody's drinking it. People are drinking it around the office.

[01:06:24]

They're drinking the I liquid, the Flash IV after a long weekend. Oh, man. The 0 sugar drinks, the sport drink, and the sport water, in my opinion, best water in the market, but don't take my word for it. Treat your taste buds. Okay?

[01:06:38]

That's what you you wanna do for your buds, and you wanna give them some body armor. The official or the official armor, the official water, the official hydration partner of the podcast, Pet Pet Podcast with Roan. Get yours today at Walmart or a local grocery store near you. [01:06:57]

I bet I can come up with a better 1 than Pat. That's what I bet to you. Let's see what happens. Do you wanna hit me with, MVP of the week? A Body Armor MVP of the week?

[01:07:10]

Because I got a couple.

[01:07:11]

Okay.

[01:07:14]

Can I can can I pitch you mine? Can I pitch you 1?

[01:07:17]

Yeah. You can pitch me anything you want. This is our pod.

[01:07:19]

How about the bro, Ernie Johnson? Did you see the clip, or it wasn't a clip. It was a story that I read. Don't don't clip shame me because this is a story that I read about how he he so he had a kid, that he lost at, I think, 3 years old, but his key his kid loved key chains, And his kid, like, for whatever reason, loved key fobs of cars. And Ernie, just tried to collect as many as possible, and then they held on to these after the kid died.

[01:07:56]

And then they found out that there was another kid in a situation who was, like, 6 years old that also collected them. So he got all these key fobs, key chains from cars that he had collected for his son, and then he passed them on to this other kid just like a cool selfless move of something that had been his own memorabilia, something that he had this incredible emotional connection to. And now he's given somebody else, another kid, a chance to be able to enjoy this this emotional connection to something that obviously meant a lot to him, obviously meant a lot to his kid, and obviously was a lasting connection between them after the fact. So maybe maybe Ernie Johnson. I don't know if you have a a better 1 than that.

[01:08:40]

No. Hey, Ron. I ain't gonna lie to you, guy. I I can't compete with that. I was about to say Casa Knight.

[01:08:45]

I can't compete with that. I can't compete with that or Ernie. Ernie Johnson.

[01:08:51]

Yeah, man. Maybe Ernie Johnson.

[01:08:53]

But I

[01:08:53]

guess we could give it to the streamer guy that you like, sir.

[01:08:55]

No. No. No. No. No.

[01:08:56]

Ernie Johnson is is that is perfect.

[01:08:59]

He seems like the man, dude. He just seems like the man.

[01:09:02]

That's that's that's dope as fuck, bro.

[01:09:04]

Then you hear stories like that. It's like

[01:09:06]

they I love stories. I'm a I'm a story guy too. I'm a story. I love stories.

[01:09:11]

You hear 1 good

[01:09:13]

go ahead. Like telling stories or listening to stories?

[01:09:17]

I like to listen to stories. I don't think that I'm a great storyteller. I I think that's a skill that I'd love to be able to work on better better.

[01:09:23]

Do you think I'm a I'm a better storyteller to you?

[01:09:29]

Oh, of course. You're very compelling storyteller.

[01:09:33]

Okay. And I think you're a better story listener than me, man.

[01:09:36]

Thank you, bro. That's so nice of you because you are a terrible

[01:09:39]

listener. I'm joking.

[01:09:48]

I'm joking. I'm joking, bro. You can't take a joke, bro. I know you heard that. I know you heard that.

[01:09:59]

I'm just trying to find this exact Ernie story because I don't wanna get any of the,

[01:10:02]

the details. Me, bro.

[01:10:03]

Busy tail.

[01:10:04]

I wanna I wanna cut some onions tonight.

[01:10:06]

It was a CBS news dip that I read. They adopted Michael. They adopted a kid named Mike, the 19th Mike, a little boy from a Romanian orphanage and brought him home in Atlanta. And he was diagnosed with Duchenne, Mike, muscular dystrophy, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and incurable disease after he arrived in the US. Wow.

[01:10:33]

And he just was he he got sicker and sicker, but he just loves love keys. And he just was all about cars. But he died at the age of 33, so he made it a decent he had a I mean, it's it's never enough, but super sad story, and they love the memory that they have. And then there was, another kid with a developmental disorder called Williams Syndrome, and they were collecting key fobs. Salute to the bro, dude.

[01:10:59]

Salute to the bro, Ernie Johnson. No more bro behavior than doing something wholesome for the children, bro.

[01:11:06]

Yeah. I got 1 for you, though, Rome.

[01:11:09]

Hit me with the story.

[01:11:10]

Nah, man. It it gives me I don't know. I get kinda you you talk about kids that really can't help themselves. You know?

[01:11:18]

Let me grab this body armor and sit back and listen.

[01:11:21]

So it was a it was a girl. I don't know. Girl might have been 10 or 11 years old. She had she had real bad asthma. And, maybe this was last month, and her asthma caused her to go into a a a coma.

[01:11:48]

Right? And she's a family of, a family friend of, you know, Elijah and Naomi, their side. So after school, weekends, Elijah's mom takes him up there to the to the hospital, you know, just to pray, just to comfort, you know, the parents, family. Couple weeks ago at the hospital again, couple you know, we could go to the hospital. It's just I just found out that they just went to our funeral.

[01:12:33]

That's brutal.

[01:12:34]

Like, 3, 4 days ago. Right? And my message to my to my younger children was appreciate everything while you can. Right? Because we never know.

[01:12:54]

Right? We can we can see you on this pod, and we can, you know, kick the shit, and we can laugh. But, bro, like, there's people out here dealing with real shit. And and selfishly, right, selfishly, selfishly, the first thing I thought about was, man, what if that was my own kid? How would I feel?

[01:13:13]

Selfishly. Right? Selfishly. You know? But it's real.

[01:13:19]

It's so real. It's it's life life can take a turn, man. You're talking about a person that everything was just cool 2 months ago now. I'm asking what's the address so I can send some some flowers for a 10 11 year old girl. You know?

[01:13:40]

And I gotta comfort my kids, and I gotta, you know, explain to them exactly what's going on and explain to them, the situation. So life is short, man. You gotta appreciate it while you can, but with children, man, with with children, bro, it just hit different. It just hit different when it's a kid that 10, 11, 12 years old, 9 years old, 8 any type of age of kid. It just hit different, bro.

[01:14:13]

It just it just hit different. It it gives you a grasp on life. I'm like it just makes you appreciate it a little bit more. Appreciate your kids, your family a little bit more. That's all.

[01:14:27]

So

[01:14:28]

Sad, man. Rest in peace to your family. Yeah.

[01:14:31]

Yeah. It's children. Listen to listen to your parents. It's important.

[01:14:37]

Totally. Damn. Well, that's, you know, it's, yeah, life is life is important. Life is life is valuable.

[01:14:44]

I think we can wrap it up with that 1 wrong.

[01:14:46]

I think so too, brother. PAPF PA with Roan, you know, give your loved ones a hug, and, we'll see you guys next week.

[01:14:54]

No. No. For sure. Listen to Roan. Give your loved ones a hug.

[01:15:00]

Straight up. And hug a stranger. You never know what they might be going through.

[01:15:07]

Yeah. But what? You gotta ask first with a stranger, though. You can't hug bomb a stranger. You know, you have to do that tactfully.

[01:15:16]

Or see what happens. You know what I mean? They they might you know, just go just pop 1 on them.

[01:15:21]

I was just hitting them with the amen. This part I was watching Pat Bev wrong. I'm showing love. They asked me to hug a person I didn't know. I promise you, man.

[01:15:31]

You never know what a person might be going through, man. I I didn't hug and change somebody.

[01:15:35]

And they're gonna be like, what is podcast? I don't have podcast.

[01:15:40]

Hey, Ron. You know, I don't. I can't see, that's and that's what the comments be saying. Ron can't take shit serious, man. Ron think everything is a joke.

[01:15:49]

That's what the that's what the comments say.

[01:15:52]

Yeah. Well, they're probably right. I I just like to add a little bit of levity, but I take I I do understand the message of it all. Bad Bad Pah with Ron. Talk to you guys

[01:15:59]

soon. Hello, guy.
