Another benefit is that as part of the Apple family, you can instantly share your finished product on iTunes.

There are more powerful software recording tools out there like Adobe Audition, but GarageBand remains a popular option for podcasters who want simple ease of use with minimal investment.


Whilst GarageBand is great for one person podcasts, sometimes you want to do a show with multiple people who are located in different parts of the world. So if you’re into live podcast content and want multiple speakers in remote locations, Zoom is the way to go.


Also worth mentioning is Ecamm Call Recorder. This is an essential piece of tech if you plan to conduct interviews over Skype.

Ecamm records Skype audio and video calls directly to your Mac. You can either record your visual interviews as you see them or in their split-screen modes. Either way you end up with a high-quality, HD recording that can easily covert into an MP3 file for podcasting.

The downside is this tech isn’t free. The Ecamm Call Recorder for Mac retails around $29.95USD. For PC users there is the similar software Pamela for $21.95USD.


Now that you have your podcast recorded and edited, the next step of the process involves getting your content published and out to the masses.For this you'll need a reliable podcasting hosting site.

Blubrry is an exceptional hosting platform that offers great features like free podcast statistics and support. Furthermore, it also creates specific plugins for WordPress that creates your podcast feed which you can then submit to directories such as iTunes, Google Podcasts, etc.

It is free for the first month and then $12 US for 100mb thereafter.
