Should we talk about Marlon Verra?

[00:00:02]

I loved you though. How did you feel about that fight? You're calling it so I guess you can't make any predictions, but how do.

[00:00:08]

You feel about it? I'm not going to make a prediction, but I can hype it up and talk about it. I was watching yesterday. I was on the treadmill just grinding away as I do. I've got the... Corey Sandn agen? Yeah. Couldn't think of his first name. I've got Corey Sandn agen versus Pierre Eyer, his last fight. Holy shit. Those first two rounds, those first two rounds for Corey Sandn agen were just incredible. I'm watching it and I was like, he's so impressive. Even in the fight that he's lost, the way he switched his stance, his movements with his body, the rolls under, the way he pivots by switching stance, the flying knees, the combinations, everything about his stand up, his striking, it's so beautiful to watch. But of course, over five rounds when he's moving so much and switching stances and he's making these fakes and movements all over the place, it comes at a cost. You know what I'm saying? And he definitely started to slow down over five rounds and Peorian took over. Cheto Verra is a guy that is suited for five rounds because Cheto is what you might say, like Peorian, like a slow starter.

[00:01:21]

Typically gives up the first round just based on activity. You know what I'm saying? But, man, he's watching, he's down the loading, he's making reads, and he's turned in. I don't know. Is he the best knockout artist at 135? He just might be because he's putting people away now. He's something special. He really is.

[00:01:43]

I think this fight reminds me a lot of the period on fight for Corrie Sandhagen. I like Corrie Sandhagen a lot. I love watching the fight. He's super exciting. But I think the one knock I would have on him is that as the fight goes on, he tends sometimes to run out of tricks. If they're not quite working and people aren't falling into his traps all the time, it's like he runs out of fancy shit sometimes. I think he's got a really dangerous ground game. I don't know. I see this being a stylistic advantage a little bit for Chido because he's so fundamental and it's nothing flashy or fancy or crazy. It's just really basic fundamentals at a super high level. I think as the fight goes on, I could see Chido starting to close the distance, cornering him, walking him down, laying a big kick, and slowing the movement down of Corey. I think if Corey wins, he's going to have to hurt Chido early. That would be my guess because I think it's.

[00:02:44]

Going to be hard to do. I'm just looking at the record. Just looking at it. Knocked out Sean O'Malle, round one. Lost to Jose Aldo, he was pissed after that fight. David grand back decision, Frankie Edgar, knockout, front kick. Rob Fong, decision. What a performance that was. And then knocked out Dominic Cruz, in round four. That's his latest run. Let's have a look at Kool Reed, last time out. Sonny Donk, Dr. Stoppage, round four before that. Bv, Pierre de Jan, sorry, lost to Pierre de Jan and then lost to TJ De La Hoya. Bv, Frankie Eger with a.

[00:03:14]

Fine knee. I thought he won the De La Hoya fight, to be fair.

[00:03:17]

See, that's one that's open for debate, though, isn't it? Yeah.

[00:03:20]

I thought he looked great.

[00:03:22]

I thought he looked really good. I thought he'd won that as well. Yeah.

[00:03:26]

By the narrowest margins, but it wasn't a blowout, but I thought he did enough.

[00:03:31]

So what is your prediction then? Because obviously you're not going to be there this weekend.

[00:03:35]

No, I'm busting ass here. Man, I feel bad saying this, but me and Corey have the same manager and we see each other in Denver all the time because he's training here. So we do strength and conditioning at the same place. So I'll see him today.

[00:03:53]

Well, what a two face bastard you are.

[00:03:57]

I'm going to say.

[00:03:58]

But fire me, we're going to see him at F ire. I'm going to see him at Fire. Meet him tomorrow.

[00:04:01]

Don't.

[00:04:02]

Do that. Don't do that. Did you have a good session yesterday? Did you have a good session with Dan today? Did he say good luck?

[00:04:09]

Was not with me.

[00:04:09]

Did he wish you all the best? Of course, did he? I wish them both the best. For an hour before he predicted.

[00:04:15]

You to lose, bro. I don't know that I could ever pick against Tito because I just have such belief in him and his story and his background and where he came from. I've connected myself to him very much. So we talk all the time, we don't hang out, but I feel very connected to Chido in his journey. So I'm not sure that I could pick against Chido, but I do genuinely believe that as the fight goes on, I think Chido wears him down slowly. And at the minimum, I think he wins the last three rounds.

[00:04:45]

Because he's just got such good chin. He's got a great chin. He's as tough as they come.

[00:04:51]

His mentality is different.

[00:04:54]

His mentality is fantastic. He trains his ass off. And I'm sure Corrie Sandeggan does. And everyone at the top does. But he's so disciplined. And I mean, so disciplined. Obviously, I'm close with Perrillo and Perrillo's his guy. Him and Cheto are very close and it breaks my heart. It makes me jealous because I'm like, That used to be me, but now it's Chito and I'm not even I don't even get a phone call anymore. But when I see Perrillo, he tells me all the stuff. And I go down the gym now and again. And yeah, Cheto is an animal, absolute animal. And I'm going to get accused of being biased on Saturday night, again, because people just go, Oh, this thing's mixed with Chito. I will be calling the fight like a seed. If Corbyn is doing well, I'll say that. If Cheto is doing well, I'll say that. But I will smile if either man wins. I can't make a prediction, but it's going to be a sensational fight. It is. Sensational. Coomain event. Let's have a little look, see, do. Hold on. Holly Holm. Oh, that's Santos. What did you used to be called?

[00:05:50]

Jan Kunitzkaier. Kunitzkaier.

[00:05:53]

I prefer Kunitzkaier. No offence to Diego Santos.

[00:05:56]

Yeah. And Diego is fighting pretty soon, too.

[00:05:58]

Is he who?

[00:05:59]

Well, he's in the PFL now. He's fighting my teammate, Rob Wilkinson.

[00:06:05]

Yeah, Rob Wilkinson. Jeez, Louise, I saw him in his last PFL fight.

[00:06:10]

He's a tough motherfucker, man.

[00:06:11]

Yeah, he is. Australian, right?

[00:06:13]

Yeah.

[00:06:13]

He's tough. He's got a lot better. From the last time I saw him in the UFC, which wasn't too great.

[00:06:20]

To the last time I saw him in the UFC. He was also in 185.

[00:06:22]

Yeah. And it was also the last time I saw Gets Easy. So it's a tough match up. But man, I forget who it was in the PFL and he looked bloody brilliant. But anyway.

[00:06:34]

He's a horse, man. I can't believe he ever made it 85. It's crazy how big.

[00:06:38]

That guy is. Nate Landryer. That'd be a lingo.

[00:06:41]

Yeah, that'd be a good one.

[00:06:43]

Nate Langley, where as Mugg CTV. You know Nate Langley?

[00:06:44]

Yeah, I do.

[00:06:46]

I knew you would.

[00:06:47]

Yeah.

[00:06:48]

I love that guy. They must know Nate Langley by now. He's had enough fights in the US. He's out of his mind. Where's he from?

[00:06:57]

Originally, I think he's from... He lives in Florida, trained in Florida or training order now, but he's from somewhere in the south. I want to say...

[00:07:05]

I'm going to pick up my notes, Nate, because he is the train.

[00:07:12]

Yeah, it's somewhere in the south. I don't know, Kentucky, Tennessee. I think it's Tennessee.

[00:07:18]

Because he's got his all day.

[00:07:20]

Clarksville, Tennessee. Clarenceville, Tennessee. Clarenceville, Tennessee.

[00:07:23]

There it is. Yeah, this guy is out of his mind, but I.

[00:07:27]

Love it. Bad shit crazy.

[00:07:29]

Yeah. No, I remember the first time we did a fighter meeting with him. Oh, my God. It was hilarious. And who was the other one? There was another guy on the same fighter meeting. Fuck, I need to remember this now. He got bended off. Off. He lost some fights. Oh, I know who it is, but I don't know his name. But anyway, when you're at the fighter meeting at the fighter hotel, on the Thursdays, we do fighter meetings. Nate the trainer, he's been out of his mind. He's super comical. He's very confident. He's talking about he's got his own day in Clarksville, Tennessee. He's a character and the man can fight, fight his ass off. Always value for money. And there was another guy, Ginger Hart. He was there with Mark Munoz. I forget his name now. He's not in the UFC anymore. And on the day of the weigh ins, security had to run out and grab him and drag him into the hotel because the UFC are at the hotel. But there's other people public staying in the hotel as well. And this guy, I forget his name, he's a very, very devout religious guy.

[00:08:29]

He was a major believer in Jesus. Go on. Spike Carlyle? That's what I was going to say.

[00:08:36]

Spike Carlyle.

[00:08:36]

That's what I was going to say. Spike Carlyle. There it is. Go on, Spike. Go on, Harrington. He was outside, led, completely naked, completely naked, led on the grass outside the front of the hotel, but starfished like this. And the security went out and they're like, What the hell are you doing? I said, I'm harnessing the energy of the sun. They're like, Well, you can harness it with the goddamn Paris shorts on. What are you doing? They picked him up and dragged him in the hotel. That guy's out of his mind. Anyway, there.

[00:09:09]

You go. Amazing. Who else is on the card? I think Macy Barbara is on that card too.

[00:09:13]

She's fighting the... Macy Barbara, Andrea.

[00:09:15]

Kgb, lady.

[00:09:18]

That's a good fight. That's your girl there. You like Macy Barbara, don't you?

[00:09:21]

We turned together for a while.

[00:09:22]

That's not what I meant. That sounded weird. I didn't mean it to sound like that. Not like Harajin.

[00:09:27]

Yeah.

[00:09:28]

I do. You're friendly, you're friends. That's what I meant. Harajin, are you still in love with Macy Barbara?

[00:09:35]

I.

[00:09:35]

Mean, I have a wife with a baby on the way, but yeah, if she's available, I'll take her number. What? Alex?

[00:09:44]

Not with that face looking like that. Yeah, Jesus Christ. You throw a beard back for you ask for anybody's number. Alex is literally on the way to the hospital to deliver his child right now.

[00:09:53]

Yeah, I guess she's crazy.
