I'm Daily WIRE, Editor-in-Chief John Bickley with Georgia Howe. It's Tuesday, February 13th, and this is your Morning WIRE Afternoon Update.

Republicans in the Senate joined Democrats to pass a $95 billion National Security Package, which provides aid to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan.

[00:00:30]

On this vote, the aes are 70, the nays are 29. The bill, as amended, passes.

[00:00:36]

22 Senate Republicans voted for the package, as did 46 Democrats and two independents who caucus with Democrats. Meanwhile, two Democrats voted no. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer told reporters that he hopes to speak directly with House Speaker Mike Johnson and urge him to step up and, quote, do the right thing. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McDonnell called providing assistance to the Ukrainians to defeat the Russians, quote, the number one priority of the United States. Some GOP members, like Senator J. D. Vance, disagree.

[00:01:05]

A few of my colleagues are desperate. They are desperate to get to Munich next weekend and tell the leaders of the world that, yes, they did not secure their own Southern border, but they did the most important thing. They got the $61 billion to Ukraine. It's shameful. It is shameful to conduct foreign policy through blank check writing to never-ending war, and it is extra shameful to do it while ignoring the problems of your own country.

A former business partner of President Trump's son, Hunter, testified today before the House Judiciary Committee and accused Joe Biden of enabling Hunter to sell access to America's most dangerous adversaries. Daily Wire reporter Tim pierce joins us with the latest.

[00:01:48]

Tony Bob Linsky's closed-door testimony is part of the impeachment inquiry in the House. The former business partner of Hunter detailed how the Biden family is linked to US adversaries such as China and Russia, saying, the Biden family business was Joe Biden, period. Bobolinsky, who worked with Hunter in creating Seahawk Holdings with Chinese energy company Cefc, says he met with the President in 2017. He says that Joe Biden is clearly the brand being sold by the Biden family, and says the now President knowingly allowed the US to be put at risk and for laws to be broken through his influence peddling operation.

The Supreme Court has asked the Special Council in former President Trump's immunity case to respond within a week after Trump asked the high court to stay a lower court ruling. Daily Wire senior editor Joel Needler has more.

[00:02:36]

The Supreme Court today asked for the special counsel to file his response by the afternoon of February 20th. Then, Trump's legal team will have another chance to respond, after which the court will issue a ruling at its discretion. This comes after a Court of Appeals rejected claims from the former President that he was in fact immune against charges he faces regarding January sixth. In their letter to the Supreme Court, Trump's lawyers argue that with the election only nine months away, the appellate process should be allowed to play out, effectively delaying a trial indefinitely, especially given all the issues that have arisen.

House Republicans are taking up a vote to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas once again tonight after last week's vote failed. The vote is once again tight, with the GOP unable handle many defecting votes or absences as a storm hits a large part of the country. If the vote pushes later into the week, the outcome of Tuesday's special election in New York to replace ousted Representative George Santos could tip the balance further.
