I had something that we had to take care of this past week. I owed something.

[00:00:04]

You did not have to take care of this.

[00:00:06]

Listen, that's a bet.

[00:00:08]

Man, was this enjoyable, guys? I'm Jason Kalishe.

[00:00:10]

Welcome to New Heights.

[00:00:17]

Welcome back. You were supposed to chime in. Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen, to New Heights, presented by Way Sports and Entertainment, and brought to you by the all-new experience, Smart Money The debit card, the debit card that builds credit without the debt.

[00:00:32]

How about that?

[00:00:33]

How about that? That thing can get you one, son. We're your hosts. I'm Travis Cousin, my big brother Jason, Kelsey, out of Cleveland Heights, Ohio. We're back to new episodes dropping every Wednesday. We'll see you guys Weekly. And subscribe on YouTube wherever you get your podcast. Follow the show on all social media @Newheightshow with one S. Check out our official fan club at newheightshow. Com. We've got a special episode for you guys today. We're together here in Philly. Hey, baby. Can't see we got our gang green on. Jason has just made his big announcement, and we've got to talk about it. It's one thing that we are good at, is making sure we talk about things. But before that, Jason, tell the people what we got coming up.

[00:01:13]

We got an incredible episode, everyone. We're, of course, going to get into the retirement speech, everything that went involved in making that decision. We're also going to get the Travis time down under the house and check out some fan mentions, including a viral photo of a cat that apparently looks like me. Well, it doesn't look like me. It's got a fur. Whatever. We're going to talk about it. We'll wrap up things with some no dumb retirement questions from the 92%ers. But first, as always, New News.

[00:01:45]

New News. Coming in.

[00:01:47]

I have my voice back, so I can actually hit that note. All right. Kelsey Brothers, Bubblehead Night. That's right. We're headed back to the land right after this episode. As of this time, the taping of the show, we are in Philadelphia, but immediately following, we are headed to Cleveland for the official Kelsey Brothers, Bubblehead Night. This is so cool. At the Cleveland Cavaliers game, a portion of the proceeds have been agreed to be donated to the Heights Schools Foundation. We grew up in Cleveland Heights, so This is an awesome collaboration and an opportunity to go back, one, watch a Cavs game.

[00:02:21]

All right now.

[00:02:22]

Be back in Cleveland, but also, two, to give back to the schools and community that raised us.

[00:02:29]

Yeah. Dude, this hits home for me because I used to take the rapid downtown just to go watch Cavs games when I was-You used to take the rapid, really? Yeah, in high school. That's nice.

[00:02:38]

Mom used to take it to work every day.

[00:02:41]

Yeah, nice. Mom actually used to Keybank and then Bank One used to have business tickets at these Cavs games. Yeah, I remember. Once I figured that one out, I was like, Mom, you make sure you put our name down on every single one of those tickets. And whichever ones don't hit, and we Even if it was us versus whoever was trash, the worst in the league at that point in time, I think the Cavs were the worst. But either way, whoever was the worst at that time, nobody wanted to go to that game. I will happily go to that game.

[00:03:14]

I You had Big Z.

[00:03:16]

Zrunas, Ricky Davis.

[00:03:18]

Yeah, baby.

[00:03:19]

D. Miles.

[00:03:20]

This is back when it was the gunned.

[00:03:21]

Wesley Persons, Danny Ferry. Should I keep going? Danny Ferry.

[00:03:24]

Well, Danny was done by this point.

[00:03:27]

Yeah, you're right. Carlos Booser.

[00:03:29]

Yeah, Carlos Booser was there for sure.

[00:03:30]

Then LeBron James.

[00:03:32]

I remember, actually-Tickets went up.

[00:03:34]

I didn't go to very many games once LeBron got it done.

[00:03:37]

There were the Cavs tickets, and there was also the... Those tickets also worked for any of the other events. So we'd go to Lumberjack Games.

[00:03:44]

Oh, yeah.

[00:03:45]

We'd go to... You remember the one time we went to the Monster Truck Rally?

[00:03:48]

Dude. That was dope. It's a lecture. The rodeo. We need to go to a Monster Truck Rally.

[00:03:53]

They do want it to link. I haven't been to one of them. I don't know if it was good as a kid. I don't know.

[00:03:58]

Yeah, good point. Take the girls.

[00:04:00]

That'd be sweet.

[00:04:01]

They'd love it. I think they would.

[00:04:03]

All right. What do you think of this bobblehead?

[00:04:06]

I think it's got your weight a little disproportion. No, it's good.

[00:04:10]

I look nice and slim. My head looks enormous, but it's a bobblehead, so I think that makes sense.

[00:04:15]

Is this the body type you're looking to go to in retirement?

[00:04:21]

I feel like it's hard to gage because my head's so large. Because that is one thing that happens with offensive linemen. When they lose weight, they go too far. I feel like your head gets bigger when you play off this line, and it never really shrinks back down. My skull has transformed from years of being 290 pounds. If I go too light, then I'll actually look like this bobblehead, and I don't want to look like that.

[00:04:45]

It's typically in the neck, what I see. Because your neck is like, that's your protector.

[00:04:49]

That's why you got to keep doing neck. You get my man Dave Andrews. Don't want to get a pencil neck.

[00:04:54]

Dave Andrews, man. Got the jerseys on, you got your Air Dads on, the New Balance edition. I think these are sweet, man. I wish I could spin a basketball on my finger like this. I cannot. We tried.

[00:05:06]

We tried to learn that so hard and just never got it down.

[00:05:09]

The globe Trident has never taught me that one.

[00:05:11]

I feel like there's a trick that you can learn it. That would be pretty easy. But YouTube wasn't around. Should we try and redo this? Should we finally learn this? I feel like there's got to be a YouTube video out there that teaches us in a very simple way.

[00:05:23]

I don't think it's interesting enough. Okay, cool. We're really appreciative that the Cavs are doing this for us, and we're going to show up and try and get that place as rowdy as possible, knowing that they got the Boston Celtics coming in town. I believe the number one and the number two teams in the East right now. Cavs are back up on top, baby.

[00:05:40]

There we go.

[00:05:42]

We're also launching a clothing collaboration with the Cavs Team Shop, the Kelsbro's Cleveland's Finest, which is pretty damn cool. So make sure you check that out, the limited edition merch, when it's available at the clevelandcavilearsteamshop. Com. Cavilearsteamshop. Com.

[00:05:59]

I Cleveland's Finest?

[00:06:00]

Yes, you are. I don't think that's- Jason, you are literally the top of Cleveland's Finest. It's like you and Steve Harvey are like, and Jim Carrey, Drew Carrey.

[00:06:13]

Drew Carrey. I wish Jim Carrey. That'd be a nice one. That'd be pretty crazy. Drew's good, too. I love you, Drew. That's a great one.

[00:06:18]

Yeah, it's you three right there at the top. Like Jason said, a portion of the proceeds, we go into the Cleveland Heights School's Foundation initiative, and we always love giving back to the Heights, maybe.

[00:06:28]

No doubt.

[00:06:28]

Jason ran a 5K. How about that? We ran a 5K, dude. Ran a walk to 5K. Was this the start of you becoming a bobblehead or what?

[00:06:37]

No, this was not the start of losing weight. We do our foundation event every year down in Sea Isle that raises money for the EGLE's Autism Foundation. But Mike Seafood has been doing an annual event for 15 years now, I believe.

[00:06:54]

Mike is good down there, too.

[00:06:56]

Yeah, Mike is the man. His son is on the and they've been doing a lot of things for the autism cause and raising money and awareness for a long time, far preceding us in EILE City in particular. That was actually my first time ever going there was for the Polar Plunge, which is when Mike does his event every year. Nice. We thought- You skipped out on the Polar Plunge this year? No, I did it. Oh, nice.

[00:07:21]

Was that the 5K? The 5K was the polar plunge?

[00:07:24]

They used to have a specific time where everyone would go into the ocean together. Now They still have the plunge, but you go at your own pace or if you do it, whatever. But the 5K is the only thing that really is a thing that happens now, the event down there. We were down there. We wanted to go down there because we have a house down there now, and it's awesome. When you take the girls to the beach, you just let them run. We thought it'd be really cool to go and run in Mike's event and show up for that. So tried running it. I had my monarchs. Not the best running shoe, I don't think.

[00:07:59]

I'll I'll tell you what, you can mow some grass.

[00:08:01]

You could lay some mulch. Yeah, they're great lawn mowers.

[00:08:04]

You could plant some flowers. You could do some handiwork in the garage.

[00:08:09]

Not a 5K shoe, but-Not a 5K shoe.

[00:08:11]

Running around in those things.

[00:08:14]

We started off-I mean, you can because you did.

[00:08:16]

You did it.

[00:08:17]

We started off running, and I shouldn't know. First of all, we were late. We showed up a little bit late, so it already started. Perfect. That's genius. I start running, and we're passing- Did you steal a few blocks, too?

[00:08:27]

No. You started.

[00:08:28]

We started right from then. We snuck in and still went. As we're running, we're passing people. I'm like, Okay, we're doing pretty good here. I should have known at that point. Like, Hey, we need to slow this pace down. We're running. One of the Hammonds that we're with, Taylor, says that every 20 blocks or something like that is a mile. She just throws that out there. I'm running, and we hit about 20 blocks, and I'm like, Hey, I'm doing good.

[00:08:55]

The blocks are short over there. I can see that.

[00:08:57]

It's not the case. I'm going to get to I thought that was where we were at, and I'm like, Okay, I'm cruising. This is a good pace. I think I'm going to nail this. I think I'm actually going to be able to do this. Then after we're off of the promenade boardwalk and we're onto the street, they have a line. I think I'm well past a mile, and there's a line, and it says one mile. I'm just like, Oh, my God. I know I got to go three plus. I'm like, There's just no way this is happening. I have given everything I have to get to this point I made it halfway. I made it just before halfway. I started walking, then just kept walking because I used up everything, and then ran the last 500 feet.

[00:09:43]

Where's our mental toughness?

[00:09:45]

I was inducing mental toughness through that mile. It was hard. I'm not built for this. There's also this weird... I feel like the same way with swimming, where older people have this ability to just get in this gear where it It's actually slower than if you walked, but they can just maintain it. I can't maintain my run. I'm in this gear.

[00:10:07]

I think you get that after 50. Once you hit 50, you find that zone.

[00:10:12]

I'm watching people swim. I'm like, How are you even staying afloat with how slow you're going? I don't know how this is possible, but they outlast me. It's just boiant. It's literally like I'm just living the Tortoise and the Hair, the movie of the Tortoise and the Hair, or the story of the Tortoise and the Hair. That is what people are to me in any conditioning event. They're going to catch me because I'm going to get tired. Somehow, they're still-So you got smoked by-They haven't drowned yet.

[00:10:38]

Mr. Mcgoo running past you.

[00:10:39]

I got smoked by every other part. It was embarrassing. I'm not going to lie. Pickleball and 5Ks are not something I can compete with old people in?

[00:10:49]

We got a good tweet from you after Fox Sports NFL tweeted out, Jason just ran a 5K to raise money. You said in quotes, Ran is a generous verb for what occurred.

[00:10:59]

It's a wrong It's not generous.

[00:11:02]

It's incorrect. But we had a blast.

[00:11:04]

I think my time was 45 minutes.

[00:11:06]

The fact that you just said, Jesus, 45 minutes for three miles?

[00:11:12]

I'm telling you, it was a bad You're not passing Rocksborough Elementary's gym class doing that, dude. I should have checked the route out and known exactly how far I was going because then I would have stopped earlier and I could have-It mind fucked you.

[00:11:27]

It mind fucked you. I went way too hard.

[00:11:28]

And you were checked out after that. Yeah, and then once I got I was in that level of fatigue, I was just overheated. My carburator was steaming.

[00:11:34]

How was- Well, you finished strong because you ran across the finish.

[00:11:38]

Well, yeah, you got to finish strong. You can't just walk across the finish line. I'll tell you what. I'll tell you what's not good.

[00:11:46]

I don't know why it's reminding me of this movie that Simbad was in as a kid. I know exactly.

[00:11:51]

What is that movie?

[00:11:52]

Where he's running the race and then just hits a right hook into the houses. Gosh, what is that movie? Sees the double arches and goes and gets McDonald's in the middle of it. I can't remember that movie. I can just see you just running.

[00:12:03]

I know exactly what you're talking about.

[00:12:05]

Oh, man, it's a good one.

[00:12:06]

If it wasn't McDonald's, I might have stopped.

[00:12:08]

It was early. I hadn't had a breakfast yet. There's no Mickey D's over there in Seattle. Then after we ran it, we went to the beach right off the street that our house is on and went in the water.

[00:12:20]

Plunge? Nice. The little plunge.

[00:12:23]

Shout out to Mike for doing this thing for, what is it, 19 plus years? Fifteen. Fifteen? Yeah. I'm sure it'll get to 19 sometime.

[00:12:30]

Yeah, it's not stopping.

[00:12:30]

Sometimes within the next five years.

[00:12:31]

It's not stopping anytime soon.

[00:12:32]

Shout out to Mike, man. Can't wait to get some of that seafood when I'm on the island this week. All right now. There we go.

[00:12:38]

Well, I had something that we had to take care of this past week. I owed something- You did not have to take care of this.

[00:12:46]

Listen, the bet's a bet. Man, was this enjoyable, guys?

[00:12:48]

There was an agreement made, a pact agreed to.

[00:12:52]

What was the pact?

[00:12:54]

Well, the pact was if the Bills beat the Chiefs in the New Heights team name competition. Oh, okay. Yeah. That I would have to jump through a flaming table. It was time to pony up. We have an outstanding video here where you guys can check out how that went down. It was exhilarating. It's not at all like the way the Buffalo Bill's Mafia jumps through tables. This was a very safety-first-I can't wait to hear Bill's Mafia just look at the comments and just see you get torched for this. Why would they torch me? I jumped through a torch. Why would they torch me?

[00:13:37]

You're like bubble wrap, dude. You were like the safest human being to ever jump through a burning table.

[00:13:43]

I thought it'd be fitting because the stealers then knocked out the bills.

[00:13:45]

So wearing dad's steel mill clothing, a tire.

[00:13:50]

I remember.

[00:13:50]

It makes sense and it's safe. So you were like, Yeah, I got to be.

[00:13:56]

Listen, I didn't want to catch on fire. If I would have been 20 Miller lights deep or whatever beer of choice.

[00:14:02]

I was about to say you had a few beverages to get the nerves to calm down.

[00:14:06]

Listen, 20 beers deep. If I'd have been 20 beers deep, I would have jumped through that thing with my T-shirt on, but I wasn't 20 beers deep.

[00:14:10]

We were riding to the firehouse, and you literally said, I'm going to jump from the top of the fire truck. In my head, I'm like, that's at least a 15-foot jump, dude. How do you think it's that high? You're jumping from the second-I think it's 10-foot. You're jumping from the second floor onto a fucking-I think it's 10 foot.

[00:14:28]

Dude, no way. I got up on the top of the one truck, which was shorter than the fire truck, and immediately was like, Man, I'm not worried at all about the fire. You started shaking.

[00:14:39]

You started cat out a little bit. Let me make sure I got my bearings here because this is The fire was the least intimidating part. Is this a little too high, guys? What do you guys think? I was like, No, it's perfect.

[00:14:52]

Yeah, you're trying to egg me out.

[00:14:53]

Dude, what? I wanted to see that. That would have been electric.

[00:14:57]

You wanted to see me break my hip on the concrete?

[00:14:59]

No, tuck and roll, grandma. Tuck and roll.

[00:15:00]

Dude, it's hard to tuck and roll when you're going through a table. There's objects that are preventing you from rolling. No, the fire was the least hard to figure out. Just wear a bunch of flame retarding stuff. They gave me the fire fire hood thing, the fire department hood deal to protect my face, and then they gave me gloves. So I felt very confident with the fire.

[00:15:23]

This guy was about to go skiing in flames.

[00:15:24]

It was jumping through a table on concrete. If we would have done that in the middle of the snow, I would have jumped off the truck. I I looked at that and I was like, Dude, I'm going to break something. I wanted to land on my butt. I'm like, How can I break my tailbone? If I jump from 10 feet in the air, I land on my ass.

[00:15:37]

That's how you break things is you get worried about it. You just got to send it and athlete it, man. You know it. I don't think that's how it works. You know this. When you're a kid, you just athlete it. You're just like, Dude, I could jump from this garage onto this trampoline.

[00:15:49]

Either way, it happened. The table broke. Bet is paid.

[00:15:54]

Shout out to Bill's Mafia.

[00:15:55]

It was electric. I will say it was exhilarating.

[00:15:57]

It was, and I enjoyed every bit of watching you do it. The buildup was hilarious. The questions, the safety briefing with the fire marshals. Oh, man, that was-Please, if you're going to jump through a flaming table, do it safely. And find your dad's steel mill fire retard and stuff. Man, that was hilarious. Yeah, we play Buffalo next year at Buffalo. Are we going to run it back? I mean, listen, coming out of the big tree in, I'm not going to say no to anybody with a flame of table.

[00:16:27]

I'm just letting you know that right now.

[00:16:30]

You heard it here, folks. All right, well, I hope you guys enjoyed that as much as we did. Let's get some fan mentions of the week right now. First up, we have a saga of Jason and cats.

[00:16:43]

Why will they not leave me alone?

[00:16:44]

What do you mean? This is destiny.

[00:16:46]

They know I don't want anything to do with this.

[00:16:48]

They know you're getting one, and they want to show you how much it makes sense. There was a viral tweet going around of a cat with a pattern on its back that the internet decided It looks exactly like Jason, Kelsey.

[00:17:04]

I want to see a zoomed-out photo. I want to see a zoomed-out photo of this cat, and it's not going to look like me at all.

[00:17:07]

You cannot unsee it.

[00:17:09]

It only looks like it because they cut it and they took a picture where it looks like a beard. I'm not going to lie. Zoomed out, it doesn't look like me.

[00:17:15]

Do you think they... Do you think they...

[00:17:18]

Do I think they what?

[00:17:19]

Do you think they died it?

[00:17:22]

It does look weird that there's a white part of the cat, and then there's this weird light tan.

[00:17:26]

Do you think they... I think they might have...

[00:17:28]

I mean, I don't put anything past cat people.

[00:17:34]

What do you mean cat people? You're cat people. You grew up with one.

[00:17:41]

You're a cat people. We had a great one.

[00:17:43]

Gosh, Flash was a fucking legend.

[00:17:45]

She was perfect. The only time she bothered you is when she wanted to sleep with you. Other than that, she didn't want you to touch her.

[00:17:54]

Broad daylight, do not try and fucking play with a cat.

[00:17:57]

Dude, you would just hear sounds from outside at night. Get it. Like two cats fighting, and you knew flash is beating the crap out of somebody. Yeah. Sorry to whoever our neighbors were. I never saw flash with a scratch on her. But I heard her fighting, saw dead rodents. I saw her kill a Bird midair once. I'm pretty positive. I remember this happening. I was sitting on that green couch looking out the back of the living room, and I just see her looking like this. I'm like, What is Flash doing? And that bird got a little too low once, and she jumped up and clawed it mid-flash. The most impressive athlete I've ever seen. Katz, dude. Dike Metcalf is a close second.

[00:18:36]

Jason Peters, close second.

[00:18:39]

Not going to lie. I think Jason might be able to claw a bird out of mid-air.

[00:18:43]

Guaranteed.

[00:18:43]

Do you ever see that guy catch that one bird in his hand.

[00:18:45]

You've ever seen that? You're talking about Manu Ginobili? He caught a bat mid-game. I don't remember this. Mid-game.

[00:18:53]

Oh, I do remember. San Antonio. He double-handed it, though, right?

[00:18:56]

No, I think he just... He like... Dude, it was nasty.

[00:19:01]

Okay. Yeah, back to the cat, though. It's got nice fur. I mean, it can be anybody with a beard. The way the picture is shown.

[00:19:06]

Dude, the way the picture is shown. The way you just got excited about Flash, it sounds like you're getting a cat.

[00:19:08]

The reason I don't think this looks like me is it doesn't have... The eyebrow game is weak. It's a weak eyebrow game. I want to be a Kelsey, you got to have better eyebrows.

[00:19:15]

I can't say you're wrong. You got to have them brows connected, especially if it wants to be Jason. Next up, a lot of the 92%-ers saw that Princess Kiana. Hey. Ky went out to Milan's fashion Fashion Week and are wondering how Jason possibly managed to watch all three kids while she was away from @cat and a bunch of fucking numbers on Twitter or X. Can we get some new heist clips of Jason watching all three girls while Kylie is rocking Fashion Week out in Milan, or do we think Kylie left Wyatt in charge?

[00:19:51]

I mean, Wyatt's always in charge, really. Always. You try to not make her be in charge. I try to discipline her. It is It's just hard.

[00:20:02]

Dude.

[00:20:02]

It's hard to reason with somebody that has no reason.

[00:20:05]

Dude, she is one of my favorite people to just people watch.

[00:20:08]

She's great. I love just people watching her and watching her play with Elliott It is so adorable.

[00:20:17]

Bringing flashbacks. Yes, it is 1,000%. One of Elliot's birthday gifts was airplane guns. It was like little foam airplanes. I don't even know how to describe this. Little foam airplanes. Where he found it. Foam airplanes that you put on top of a gun and you basically... When I tell you, the girls were going nuts. It started off with grandpa, dad, in the yard saying, Hey, if You guys can hit me. You win. You get a popsicle or something, like something encouraging. So they were both firing at dad. And it's sure enough, it ended in dad going inside being ecstatic that he just got the girl, something that they absolutely love. But then it turns into whoever's in the yard is the target.

[00:21:02]

It's driving range. The guy's out there getting the balls. Hey, I'm not practicing on my nine iron anymore. I'm going right to this, motherfucker.

[00:21:10]

Little Elliot on her birthday runs down there to go retrieve her planes to come back and do it again. Sure enough, why it's locked and loaded. She's running just... You see her tracking? I'm like, Wyatt, don't hit your sister. Be careful. Do not hit your sister. As I'm saying it, she keeps track. She keeps track It finally stops. Boom, right to the side of the head.

[00:21:36]

I didn't know it was a headshot. Right to the head.

[00:21:38]

I'm being like, Oh, no, why? I said, Don't do that. The slow turn.

[00:21:43]

Just the joy.

[00:21:45]

The smile, the joy of her going straight to the dome. I was like, This girl.

[00:21:53]

This girl's got it.

[00:21:54]

She's got it. Ellie's going to be tough. Ellie's going to be tough. Oh, yeah. Ellie was having a blast. She cried for about two seconds, then it was right back to shooting it. Oh, man. Back to Kylie Rock.

[00:22:02]

This is why Kylie did not leave me in charge of the girls because there'd have been plenty of that.

[00:22:09]

Oh, man. I'll tell you what, Ky killed it. Absolutely killed it. I forget who she was.

[00:22:14]

Who was the-Alberta Ferretti.

[00:22:16]

Hey, all right now, Arbeta. You were in charge? No. Yes, you were. You were in charge. I wasn't in charge.

[00:22:23]

You just handed them off. I was not alone with the girls for more than two or three hours at any point in the weekend. Grandma stayed over. Kylie's mom, thank you. Shout out to Lee. She's a saint. The best. I could handle Ellie and why. It's really the baby, the infant that for some reason I'm just not as adept at handling. I try.

[00:22:43]

You can't communicate.

[00:22:44]

I also just don't wake up, like I sleep.

[00:22:46]

That's a Kelsey trait for sure.

[00:22:46]

Sometimes I actually do wake up, but I act like I'm still sleeping.

[00:22:51]

If I'm being honest, don't give it away.

[00:22:54]

Don't give it away. Don't tell me. We all know. We all know. Oh, no. We had Our babysitter Lauren and Lies were pulling lots of extra time duty to help us get through that week. Really happy Kyle was able to go out there. She doesn't get any time away from the girls, really. Then between Vegas for the Super Bowl and then a lot of fashion week. All the playoff games and everything.

[00:23:20]

It was awesome. Nice.

[00:23:23]

She went out there with her friend Elaina Gro. Elaina. Mike Gro was a coach in Philadelphia. Shout out to Mike. Elaina is his wife, and they became close when she was in Philly. Now she got into fashion in New York City, where Mike now coaches for the Giants.

[00:23:40]

Right on. If you were to go to a fashion show, would you- You can stop there. Dude, you've been to a fashion show.

[00:23:51]

What fashion show did I go to?

[00:23:52]

'87 and Running.

[00:23:53]

I went to an '87 and Running event that happened to have a fashion show involved with it. I was there to support Travis and the foundation. You dressed up, though. I was there to help you raise money. I was not there to be a part of fashion.

[00:24:07]

You still went. It still counts.

[00:24:09]

You heard of here, folks? You played a prank on me with Lefto.

[00:24:12]

That was good.

[00:24:13]

Tried to make me look like a douche.

[00:24:14]

Adam Lefko had a great idea. It was right. It was so perfect. You're such a good dude. You're so much of a good dude. You couldn't tell. For those of you that haven't seen this, long story short, Adam Lefko, great friend of ours, hosted the event. Before the event, he wanted to play a little prank on Jason when coming in, acted like everybody and their mother signed this jersey. Michael Jordan. I should have known.

[00:24:41]

Why would Justin Timberland sign a cheese jersey?

[00:24:43]

We just basically forged everyone's signature and told Jason that they were on this.

[00:24:47]

But in the moment, I'm like, Oh, yeah, this is cool, isn't it?

[00:24:48]

I was like, This is a great option.

[00:24:50]

This is going to raise a lot of money. It was so good.

[00:24:55]

But we told him he had to sign it. As he's signing it, the waitress comes with wine to pass around and accidentally bumps into Jason, pours it over. Jason thinks, Oh, no. She did not bump into me.

[00:25:07]

She's just like, Oh. Yeah.

[00:25:10]

But playing the prank, Jason then gets accused of spilling the wine. We have this video somewhere that we could probably show. I'll make sure I ask.

[00:25:20]

I think I was the only one in the room with her when that happened. Then she, I forget what she said, but she acted like I was the one who spilled the wine.

[00:25:26]

She was like, Jason spilled it on there. Jason just said that like, I don't know if that's how it went down.

[00:25:32]

In my head, I'm like, Man, I really don't want this woman. If she's saying this, she's worried about losing her job or something, I'm like, Fuck it. I'll eat it. I don't give a fuck. I'm like, Whatever.

[00:25:48]

It wasn't a serious enough.

[00:25:49]

In my head, I'm like, Man, it's pretty shitty by you, but I get it.

[00:25:56]

Oh, man. Yeah. We'll make sure we get that clip to you. But I'll be all right. That was Jason's only time ever going to a fashion show. Well, that was fun to remember. Shout out to Ky over there in Milan. Killing it. Ky's killing it. That might be a new segment.

[00:26:12]

Ky's killing it?

[00:26:13]

Killing it with Ky.

[00:26:14]

She did start a TikTok thing of places Kylie has no business going.

[00:26:18]

I think that's what it was. God damn it. That's about as good as Jason getting out of the house right there.

[00:26:23]

I had to be tagged it because I just still don't... I've never been on TikTok. For our last mention of the week, some 92% wanted to remind us that our first ever National New Heights Day just went down February 30th.

[00:26:38]

How about it?

[00:26:39]

That's right. It's short-lived. Midnight on February 29th. That is National New Heights Day. The only problem is I forgot. Did you forget?

[00:26:46]

1,000 %.

[00:26:47]

I remembered in the middle of the day, and then by the time it got night, it was late, and I was like, Yeah, I'm going to sleep.

[00:26:52]

I really don't even remember. I might not have even been in the country.

[00:26:56]

That's how you celebrate National New Heights Day.

[00:26:58]

I don't even know what day it was.

[00:27:00]

I think it was Tuesday, maybe, or something like that.

[00:27:03]

Yeah, no, I don't wake up on Tuesdays.

[00:27:05]

Yeah, we have from@d'Otterside on Twitter.

[00:27:10]

Everybody knows everything happens on Mondays and Wednesdays. Nothing happens on Tuesdays.

[00:27:13]

Tuesday is a very forgotten day. At the other side, that's right. Most of you are walking around thinking it's March first, but it's actually February 30th, National New Heights Day. Thank you, Jason Kelsi and Travis Kelsi, for commemorating the special day for all the 92% out there. Thank you for the New Heights team for remembering it's National New Heights Day. Shout out, Jeff's Jake. Yeah.

[00:27:38]

That's all we got for that. Make sure you guys let us know how you guys spent your New Heights Day.

[00:27:43]

We'll see you in four years. Is that when... Leap years are every four years or five years? Four years, right?

[00:27:50]

I think it's leap year. So it's got to be multiple, right?

[00:27:56]

All right. It's time to shout out our next sponsor, Buffalo Wild Wings. That's right. We've talked about how much we love B-Dubs on this show countless times, and I think we're about to love them some more, Trab.

[00:28:08]

Oh, it's ultimately dirty. Because they have two sauces that we need to try. You heard it, 92 percenters. Right now for a limited time only, Buffalo Wild Wings has two honey sauces that you need to get your hands on. Jason, tell the people about these unbelievable sauces.

[00:28:24]

The first one is Honey Sriracha, who doesn't like a little- Sweet and sour. Sweetness and a Everybody loves that. A little sweet and spicy combination of flavors that gives a little heat, followed by sweet. That's what the sweet heat means. Then the second is B-Dubs Honey garlic. I don't know. Sweet and savory. I don't know if I've ever had that, and I'm interested. I was in when you said Honey.

[00:28:46]

I was in when you said B-Dubs.

[00:28:49]

Yeah, I was in at Honey.

[00:28:50]

All right, now 92%. Remember, these Honey Sauces are only available for a limited time, so make sure you get to your local B-Dubs. Get to that Buffalo Wild Wings near you and try them before they're gone.

[00:29:02]

Yeah, you definitely don't want to miss out on these. Again, make sure you head to B-Dubs now to try their Honey Sriracha and Honey garlic sauces while you still can.

[00:32:09]

Dude, I have no idea. A lot of false media being tossed out there. But I'll tell you what wasn't false, and it was when I landed in Australia and seeing all the cameras. Yeah, you're like the Beatles. Yeah. I went into the FBO. Yoko Ohno. I'm like the Beatles. Yoko Ohno. Was that a speed skater? That's an Apollo song.

[00:32:38]

Are you thinking of Apollo, like Anton Ohno? Yeah. Oh my God, that's fucking Hilarious. God, that's good. Yoko Ohno. Oh, God. No, I don't even know the full story of Yoko Ohno. I I know that she was with John Lennon, and that's about the extent that I know. But yeah, she might have been a figure skater, actually. I mean, who knows?

[00:33:08]

Speed skater. Speed skater.

[00:33:08]

Speed skater, sorry.

[00:33:09]

All right. Well, dude, it's a wild ride. It's a wild ride. But I will tell you this, Australia. Loved it? Did not disappoint me. Yeah, I can imagine. It was amazing over there. I only went to Sydney. Got a lot of friends that I've met over the years that are out there in Melbourne. Definitely want to get out there and see you guys and see what Melbourne has to offer. But I'll tell you what, Sydney, it was a beautiful city. The layout was very, I want to say similar to Miami, but it has a lot of intercoastal, and it was cool to see, I don't know, just the layout of the land over there, let alone the zoo and seeing all the exotic animals. It was fun, man. We got to get to that. Yeah. What? The zoo.

[00:33:50]

Were there just drones above your heads at all?

[00:33:53]

Where did this footage come from? No, there were full on helicopters just flying around. A helicopter? Yeah, they helicoptered us. Well, not us.

[00:34:00]

That just seems like how much-Yeah, they don't want it.

[00:34:03]

This is all because Taylor's the biggest and the best thing possible. Yeah, of course. Tell you what, though, the kangaroos were pretty sweet. Got to see a red panda up close and personal. A red panda? Yeah. What did it look like?

[00:34:15]

Dude, it looked-I feel like they look like raccoons more than pandas.

[00:34:18]

But it looked like a friendly raccoon. You know, some raccoons can look just fucking like, I'm not fucking with that thing.

[00:34:23]

I think all raccoons are like a... They're cute in the face, but you know that they got claws and their hands are like...

[00:34:28]

Yeah, this little guy, he was friendly.

[00:34:32]

I'm not mess with working.

[00:34:33]

Yeah. No, you're going to fuck with the red panda, though. Those things were sweet.

[00:34:37]

Yeah. You don't think it would attack you if you were in the cage? Mm-mm.

[00:34:40]

One of my favorite things is the zookeeper, the one showing us the red panda was we had to go in a cage just to go in to see the panda in the panda area. Yeah. They're like, All right, now make sure that door is closed. When you get out of here, quickly close this one because they are escape artists. I was just like, This thing just got so many brownie for me, dude. How many times this thing gotten out? It's got the little mask.

[00:35:04]

Is it daily? They're sneaky individuals. Because raccoons are sneaky, too. Is it anything that looks like it has a built-in mask?

[00:35:16]

Stealth? Yeah. It's like nature naturally nude.

[00:35:20]

I have wondered this. So back to the zoo. I've never been to a zoo in another country. Are zoos in other countries? Do they have animals of stuff that's in North America? Are there white-tailed deer in the Australian zoo?

[00:35:34]

No, I didn't see it. Everything was still- Is it bald eagle? I don't even know if everything... Yeah, I saw a crocodile, which is fucking way bigger than an allegator.

[00:35:42]

I think alligators are I don't know if they're only in America, but it's like most other places is crocodile. Alligator is unique to believe the US.

[00:35:52]

Okay, thank God, because that thing was enormous. Saltwater croc, yeah.

[00:35:56]

They get pretty big. It's a living dinosaur. Did you... It's like a moose or a bear, like grizzly bear?

[00:36:03]

I didn't see anything over there.

[00:36:05]

No. They just had their own animals? What's the point of going to the zoo if they just got-No, they had some-you could see kangaroos.

[00:36:11]

They had some animals from Asia. The two elephants that I saw Just got out there, I think in 2019, they were from Africa.

[00:36:17]

All right, so they got the elephants. Yeah. Girafes?

[00:36:21]

Didn't see girafes. I think the zoo was a little bit more new than the big Steve Irwin zoo out there. They're just now starting to get some A lot of videos. Some cool ones? Yeah. But saw a tiger sitting up in a tree house. That shit was fucking sweet. I ain't going to lie. It was a tree house?

[00:36:35]

Yeah.

[00:36:37]

Saw a lion up close.

[00:36:39]

I saw that photo.

[00:36:41]

Dude.

[00:36:42]

What'd that feel like?

[00:36:43]

When you hear that Because I was like, taking a picture. Just like, Oh, my gosh. Let alone one. You see three of them run down from their rock. Their perch. Yeah, their perch. Knowing that they're about to get fed? Pride Rock. You see how fast and agile that thing is? Yeah, dude.

[00:37:05]

Dude, it's over. I'm not messing with cats. It's over. Don't matter what size.

[00:37:09]

You could tell one was the big bed. I was just like, damn.

[00:37:13]

Yeah. That's a bad- It's a bad animal.

[00:37:16]

That's a bad man right there. Well, that's pretty cool. Yeah, it was fun. That was a fun one. Then we got to enjoy the Taylor Swift show.

[00:37:24]

Did you feed any of the animals?

[00:37:25]

Yeah, I was just telling you. We fed a red panda. What are those little, the enormous-sized hamsters? Starts with a C. No, koala is not a C. Definitely fed some koalas, some eucalyptus leaves. Capipara, yeah. Oh, yeah. Capipara, the things were like, they It was like, literally the teeth. It's like a fever, right? Yeah, the teeth were like the size of my fingers, just like right here.

[00:37:52]

It's like a little rodent, oversize rodent.

[00:37:53]

It was enormous, and it was crazy how heavy it was and how athletic it was for sure.

[00:37:57]

Do you think Wendy could have taken it?

[00:37:58]

No, dude, those things were vicious.

[00:38:00]

I bet Winnie would fuck that thing up.

[00:38:02]

The things were quick, dude. It's more athletic. No chance. All right.

[00:38:06]

Dingo.

[00:38:07]

Yeah, we fed some dingos. Nice. At least I think they were dingos.

[00:38:11]

Emu?

[00:38:13]

No, I saw one. Ostrich? Yeah, I saw one.

[00:38:17]

Is she an emu or an ostrich? Which one?

[00:38:19]

I think it was an emu.

[00:38:21]

Honestly, what's the... Ostrich are just bigger than emu, but they look similar, right?

[00:38:26]

Yeah. Got them wangs, but they're not going nowhere.

[00:38:30]

A little heavy to get up in the air. Yeah.

[00:38:34]

What else did I feed? The eucalyptus leaves to the koalas. They weren't doing anything. They were just chilling. That's what koalas do.

[00:38:44]

They just chill. Do you smell the koala's breath? Does it just smell like eucalyptus at all times?

[00:38:49]

I didn't smell anything. It just smelled like a zoo the entire time.

[00:38:52]

Like shit? Yeah.

[00:38:54]

I was petting a rhino.

[00:38:57]

You pet a rhino? Yeah. How was that? Not the fucking thing you lead with? It's a good point. What did it feel like?

[00:39:03]

It felt terrifying. Yeah. To be even in the same pen.

[00:39:06]

Did it feel like a leather jacket, or was this something completely- That thing just got done running around in mud.

[00:39:12]

Me petting it was me putting my hand on a plastered wall. I was just like, Dude, that thing was rock solid.

[00:39:19]

Yeah, it's an impressive animal.

[00:39:21]

Yeah. No. It was jumping around and stuff. It was real playful. They're like, All right, you got to watch out. It's real playful right now. I'm just like, What? I got to catch it in an even day.

[00:39:31]

Yeah. Was it- You can't be too happy.

[00:39:34]

You can't be too mad. Just got, Well...

[00:39:37]

I mean, you just got to watch out for the horn.

[00:39:41]

Dude, those things are majestic, man.

[00:39:42]

Yeah, it's a big animal. That's cool.

[00:39:44]

You could tell how heavy that thing is and how it could just fuck you up.

[00:39:47]

You just sidestepped it, though. It's probably not being agile, right? No, dude.

[00:39:50]

When I tell you that thing is agile. Oh, yeah? Quick, too. All right.

[00:39:56]

Yeah, you also went to a Taylor Sydney show.

[00:39:59]

I It did. Sydney did not disappoint. I'm pretty sure the crowds over there are... Well, they're already rowdy group, right? The Australians are pretty rowdy. They like to have a good time. I like to have a good time. They were Just a little bit louder than the Argentinian crowd.

[00:40:18]

Okay.

[00:40:18]

I was not expecting that because Argentina was-Loud, fucking loud. They were into it, and so was Sydney. Taylor is very fond of performing in Australia because of the crowds over there and how into it they get. Yeah, awesome. Shout out to Australia for showing up, showing out right now.

[00:40:37]

One of the things that everybody like to point out was you're in Ross's attire. Did you plan out to look like Bluey and Dingo?

[00:40:45]

No, we did not. I came downstairs from the hotel and I saw him and I was like, God damn it. You knew you were going to get the Bluey immediately? Immediately, no. I had my outfit on. He had his outfit on. We were going to the car on time. You guys look great. I can't change now. We're just like, We're just going to have to eat this one.

[00:41:05]

Eat what? You guys look very Australian.

[00:41:08]

We look like you and Marshmallow at the Chief's after-party.

[00:41:12]

You feel like you look choreographed. It's like it was planned and it wasn't planned. Bluey is a tremendous show. It's all right.

[00:41:19]

Shout out to Bluey. There were a bunch of other ones that were pretty good. The M&Ms was pretty good. Oh, yeah. That was pretty good.

[00:41:27]

It also looked like there were a lot of Travis Gelsy jerseys among the fans out there in Sydney. There was a few.

[00:41:32]

There's a good amount of American football crowd out there. I think just Taylor fans, so they wanted to show their support.

[00:41:40]

How do you feel about your jersey being worn all over the Ares tour?

[00:41:46]

It's pretty fucking cool to just have your jersey being worn, even if it's just on a day or at a football game.

[00:41:52]

I only ask it because it's in this clip.

[00:41:55]

I don't care. Right now, I guarantee you there's people out in Philly right now wearing your jersey.

[00:41:58]

Guarantee it. Well, yeah, I just retired yesterday.

[00:42:01]

Yeah, well, every day is Jason Kelsy Day in Philadelphia now. Okay.

[00:42:04]

Then after Australia, you went back to Vegas to continue celebrating your Super Bowl Championship. All right now. Why back to Vegas? You guys haven't had enough of Vegas yet? No.

[00:42:13]

We had been This had been something that we talked about as a team. Like, Oh, man, when we win in Vegas, we're going to go back and have a good time, do it right, hit the casino.

[00:42:24]

Aka Gamble and go to the casino.

[00:42:26]

Because we couldn't do any of that. Those of you that don't know, the NFL doesn't allow you on when you're- It didn't.

[00:42:33]

When you're going for the Super Bowl, they said no casinos.

[00:42:36]

Yeah, but even if we're just playing the Raiders in a regular week, if you're there on business for the NFL, you can't gamble or do anything It was really fun in Vegas. Essentially, we wanted to have some fun. We went back as a team. They made some World Championship belts. I got all the WWV ones, but this one was pretty cool. Hosting the World Boxing Championship. Hosting the belt? The World Boxing Championship. Oh, that's cool.

[00:43:03]

Who had that on him?

[00:43:05]

I did. Where did you get it from him? I'm the world champ. I don't care what.

[00:43:10]

Is this an actual official?

[00:43:10]

Anybody says about it, just being an American sport. I'm the world champ.

[00:43:14]

Until there's another football team that can even remotely compete with an NFL team, I don't think that it's a competition.

[00:43:28]

I'm with you. Either way, that was pretty cool. I'm the world champion. The win always.

[00:43:32]

Sitting on my couch with sandals because nobody does it better.

[00:43:36]

We got to get this man a belt. We got to get him a belt. Somebody make him a sandal belt. We went back, had some fun. We had been talking about doing it all year if we got a chance to win the Super Bowl again. Sure enough, those memories you get of the aftermath with the guys is stuff I'll remember for the rest of my life, man. I think you've done it, but the teams are never the same.

[00:44:04]

Even when you repeat.

[00:44:06]

Even to this day, a handful of decisions have been made with the Chiefs, and a few guys aren't with us. I wanted to make sure that I got every chance to enjoy this with those guys immediately afterwards. It was definitely well worth it, man. It was definitely well worth it. We had a blast, had some fun. Then I went to California and got caught going to Nobu at the same time as Christian McCant Free.

[00:44:30]

You guys had dinner together.

[00:44:31]

No, we didn't. But if I would have known that him and Olivia were there, I would have sent over a drink or at least came over and said, Congrats on an unbelievable season. Got so much respect for that guy and obviously all the 49ers that we played. If I would have knew he was there, I would have definitely said hello, but I didn't see that he was there. Sure enough, TMZ is throwing it out there.

[00:44:50]

It's remarkable. It really is. There's such a rush to get things out there.

[00:44:54]

They're enjoying us even saying that it wasn't. Yeah, it's still attention. They're enjoying it. It's attention to them, and they just love attention.

[00:45:02]

Listen, Kylie, apparently, is pregnant with our fourth child. It's a boy. What? No way.

[00:45:06]

In this made-up universe.

[00:45:09]

Thank you.

[00:45:09]

You guys made a baby in Milan?

[00:45:11]

That's right. If she got pregnant in Milan, we got some things to answer here. That photo of me, Zack Galfinackis from The Hangover. It's crazy. There was a three-year-old video of Wyatt before a game this year. The announcement made it seem like she was playing center, and I'm like, She was reacting to the combine. People just will say anything. Anything that gets them likes or clicks, and people don't vent anything.

[00:45:38]

Throw it out there. It's fucking ridiculous. So don't believe everything you're reading, especially on what I got going on.

[00:45:44]

Apparently, leaving the country.

[00:45:49]

I'm staying in America. America will always be home.

[00:45:53]

[00:48:33]

Man, you know I'm a total eclipse of the heart?

[00:48:36]

You already gave it to it. Give us another one. Give me another one.

Seven Pro Bowl, six first-team All-Pro Seasons, 193 total games. Holy shit, that's a lot of football. 156 consecutive starts, which is a record. Just one of those.

[00:49:53]

Well, an eagles's record.

[00:49:55]

Records are records, dude.

[00:49:56]

It's not a world record.

[00:49:58]

And a Super Bowl champion with the Philadelphia Eagles. You have officially decided to hang them up, dude. Yeah. We couldn't be more proud of you, man.

[00:50:07]

But-thanks, Chad.

[00:50:08]

We got to talk about it.

[00:50:09]

Let's do it.

[00:50:10]

The retirement speech was one for the ages. Ladies and gentlemen, if you haven't seen it. Grab a box of Kleenex before you do it. The guy poured his heart out as he does every single time talking about the things that he loves. It was beautiful to see how grateful you are, how the memories that you've gathered over the years with the people that have gotten you to this point in your life. It was well said, man. It was a beautiful thing. It's been less than 24 hours since you've made the announcement. But how does it finally feel that it's out there? Does it feel relieved?

[00:50:47]

Yeah, I think it's been a long time coming. Obviously, I've debated retiring for the last few seasons. I think it got to the where I knew that that's what I wanted to do, and it was nerve-wracking getting to that day. But a lot of the things that I said and Shared are things that I wanted to share for a long time, and you wait for the moment where it feels right to do it. A lot of those things were notes that I've compiled throughout my career. I take notes on my phone, so it's just like a plug and place. That's such a good idea. Yeah, I need to start. It felt good to finally get it out there. In some ways, in other ways, it's still hard and it hurts.

[00:51:39]

It didn't look easy.

[00:51:41]

It's weird. It's not like it's easy or hard to say it. It's more just hard to come to grips with the finality of it. But I was hoping I had said it enough times that I wouldn't cry as much as I did. I think it's good to show emotion through it, but I I was sobbing before I even started.

[00:52:02]

That was not a good- You definitely set the tone. You set the tone for definitely the entire family, let alone everyone listening.

[00:52:08]

Especially the beginning portion of it got broken up a lot, but obviously proud of all the people that were there and what they meant to me and wanted to share that.

[00:52:24]

Who helped you the most in deciding all this, man?

[00:52:27]

In deciding whether to keep playing or not?

[00:52:29]

Yeah. What was the What was the biggest influence helping you?

[00:52:32]

Me. I think that's how I knew. In previous years, I would reach out to other guys like, Hey, how do you know when you want to stop playing? Or, Scott, what do you think? The reality was it was more firm than it's ever been this year that I just don't think physically I can compete at the level that I want to anymore and really compete the way I want to. My elbow and my knees It's just gotten to the point where the deterioration and the recovery from that deterioration hasn't really manifested on game day yet, but I know it's going to start doing that. I'd really rather not I'm hard on myself. If I go out there and I'm not the player that I want to be, it'll crush me. I feel very confident in the decision I've made. I know that it's time. I've It was a really good run, but that's the biggest reason why.

[00:53:35]

Was everybody in the facility leading up to this moment like, Dude, don't do it?

[00:53:40]

No, I think everybody knows. On some level, people want me to stay there.

[00:53:45]

Was it like Wolf on Wall Street? Like, Dude, he's not going to really do it, is he?

[00:53:49]

I don't know. I think at the end of the day, everybody just wants what I want at this point. I think people still want me to play if I want to. But if you don't want to, you shouldn't do it. The reality is I don't want to do that anymore. Sure, there's parts of me that want to. There'll always be parts of me that want to go out on game day and play and want to compete and want to be there with your teammates. That stuff will never go away. But just the physical portion is at a point that it's not a desire to continue to do and not something that I think I can do and be happy about it. So, yeah, it's over, and that's good. I think it's certainly terrifying in some ways because I've only really played football my whole life, so we got to try and figure something else out. Luckily, this podcast and all of our fans and everybody, there's some opportunities now, and that's great. But at the end of the day, it's still a new chapter. I'm incredibly excited about what could happen and also nervous about what life is going to look like now.

[00:55:02]

Walk us through that outfit of choice. Yeah. Was that your press conference outfit? Is that like you wanted to go into that thing? I guess I start out the day, that's the first choice you got to make.

[00:55:12]

You're like, All right, what am I going to wear to this thing?

[00:55:14]

Who am I going to dress up as?

[00:55:16]

It's like, suit and tie is what most people wear, and I'm like, That wouldn't feel right. For me, I don't think that- It's not a wedding.

[00:55:24]

It's the only time I've ever seen you wear a suit and tie.

[00:55:29]

I'm wearing a suit tie when I have to, and that's about it. I'm walking through like, Okay, do I wear a Cleveland Heights shirt? Do I wear an Eagle shirt? I open one of the drawers, and this is a shirt that has holes in it, and I've worn and practiced and Every year, I've lifted weights in it. I'm like, You know what? This shirt, in some ways, was a part of this journey with me more than anything else in this closet, so I'll wear this. Then we got there, and A lot of people don't know this, but my trainer, one of the trainers at the Eagles, has been battling cancer all season long, and he's been there my entire career, too. Joe Appela. Shout out Joe, baby. Thankfully, he's in remission. They don't have any signs of it.

[00:56:14]

Yeah, Joe.

[00:56:15]

They're still going to, I think, do an operation to really make sure, but he's looking good. But he wasn't able to tape me for any of the games this year, and he's taped my ankles my whole career, so he taped my ankles for the press conference one last time.

[00:56:29]

Nice, man.

[00:56:30]

I had ankle tape on with sandals. Yeah, that was what went into, I guess, the attire.

[00:56:35]

Nice. Well, shout out, Joe. We'll see you at Cial, dude.

[00:56:38]

Yeah. Well, I'll see you. He hasn't drank at all. He's gone completely vegan, cut out alcohol completely. Really to try and really give his body the best chance of finding it off with chemo and everything, and it's worked. But finally, he's asked the doctor, Can he have a beer on St. Patrick's Day? They're like, There's no evidence to say that you can't. We're going to enjoy some beverages for St. Patrick's Day. Have a nice little... Just one. Just one beard. Haven't heard anybody. Or two.

[00:57:08]

Well, the speech was unbelievable. As good of a football player you are, man, a professional speaker is. I mean, it's got to be in the next line of work, whether it's here on the podcast or you running for president, whichever one you want to do, I'm sure you can do.

[00:57:23]

Well, it's easy. I think it's really easy to give speeches when you are just reciting what you lived what you've experienced. I don't know that I can go up in front of a corporation and give a speech about that. You know what I mean? For me to just recant all the people that have been really meaningful in my life and all the experiences I have with my teammates in the city. I'm just reciting history. To me, it makes it easier. I felt the same way about the parade speech. I didn't say anything up there that wasn't... I didn't make anything up. It was all out there. That's what makes it easy, to come up with something off the cuff that I think would be a lot harder. This one was easy to write. I had already written it for 13 years. Like I said, I take notes I would wake up at times and have these thoughts on my head and just jot them down. Really, the only thing I had to do is figure out the order when I'm putting everything.

[00:58:24]

Was it just you or did you have any- I read the first draft to Brett Straussacher.

[00:58:30]

He works in our media department with the Eagles. Well, actually, I read the first draft to Kylie, and then I read the first draft to Brett, and both of them had like, Oh, should you put this person in there? Should you put that person? I don't know if you should make a big dick nick joke. I'm like, Fuck you.

[00:58:48]

Dude, it was so good.

[00:58:49]

I text nick to make sure he was okay with it. Of course, he was like, Yeah, you can tell everybody. But the surprising one was when he said, I asked Tori, and Tori, his wife, Then Tori gave the okay. That was the surprising part. I was like, Okay, all right, Tori.

[00:59:03]

Thanks, Tor. Everyone enjoyed it. A lot of people were saying it was their favorite part of it.

[00:59:09]

I think you start with a framework. I decided to go chronologically for the most part and save the most meaningful people and stories and messages for the ending portion while reciting some memories of the most impactful things that happened throughout my career. So settled into that framework and then rewrote it a few times, changed things up, added things here and there. I think the section on you was like, I changed that day of like, Hey, I'm trying to think. I got to say more about growing up with Travis. What else? And I'm like, Oh, yeah. Playing in the backyard. We played multiple Super Bowl before we ever left the house. We envisioned ourselves Jim Thomey, Carlos Bayerga. I think you... So that stuff went in last second.

[01:00:08]

I still am trying to be Carlos Bayerga.

[01:00:10]

I mean, he was a- Kenny Lofton, you name it, dude.

[01:00:14]

The old Guardian Indians. If you were a sports figure in Cleveland, we imagined ourselves as you.

[01:00:18]

The '90s Indians were huge, though. Those were the teams in Cleveland. The Browns left in the '90s, so we didn't even have a football team.

[01:00:26]

Just became a fan of the game.

[01:00:28]

Drone Bettis is my guy. I was a FARV guy. Drone Bettis and Mike Hallstatt were. Then Brian Erlacher, Ray Louis. You were who?

[01:00:40]

I was FARV. Yeah. I thought I had a cannon like him, too, man. Dog, God.

[01:00:45]

You did. I did not. No, you did. Before you tore your lay room, you could check that thing.

[01:00:50]

Now that we got some more time, is there anybody that you want to give a shout out to that you?

[01:00:56]

I don't even want to do that. I don't want to do that right now because there's going to be people I'm going to leave off if I'm just randomly ripping that off the top of my head. I'm going to delete that. Listen, there's a lot of people I want to thank. Teammates and so many people have reached out since yesterday.

[01:01:11]

It's been so cool to see anybody.

[01:01:12]

I have text nobody back because it's a lot. I'm dreading having to try and get through all these. At the same time, excited because there's a lot of meaningful people that have texted me and reached out. Listen, this is why football is so special, unlike any other sport, especially offensive line. This is what's crazy. I am a center. I make no plays on my own. My job is just to facilitate an environment where other guys can make plays. I'm still being celebrated and talked about on a level. I think that's awesome for the other guys that play my position and for the other kids that play offensive line. It's largely been an unheralded position for a long time. In In some ways, I think the offensive line symbolizes the sport better than anything else. We're all ultimately relying on the guys next to us and the coach and what they're calling and the systems you're running.

[01:02:13]

The physicality of the game.

[01:02:14]

It's such a dependent game. There'd be too many people to thank and try and hit by listing off all of my teammates and coaches and people in the building and T-Roy, our janitor. I mean, Tony. I mean, it's ridiculous. I tried to limit it to really just the people that for sure made a very pointed impact. Then, of course, the head figures At each level, that's the beauty of football. It's the most complete team game that there is, in my mind.

[01:02:52]

Man, we love teaming up. We did not talk about much of your retirement, and I wanted to make sure that you didn't feel any pressure from me to keep going, knowing I wanted you to keep going. I wanted you to keep playing this game.

[01:03:11]

Why didn't you tell me this? I would have changed my mind.

[01:03:12]

No, I You've always been a step ahead of me in this game. I'm older, Travis. Yeah, but in this game alone, you've always been a step ahead of me, and it's always been like I've had that flotation device right there To have you out of it, man, it feels empty, and it definitely feels like it's complete It was a success.

[01:03:54]

I hear you.

[01:03:57]

It was a fun-ass journey to watch. Like I said yesterday, man, I just appreciate you showing me the way and bringing us all along the journey with you, big guy.

[01:04:12]

We showed each other the way. I think it's I appreciate it. Listen, I'm out of playing, but I'm still going to be... I'm still going to the games. Like I said, you've been playing for a long time on your own, and I look forward to being able to appreciate and watch your games more and take in the bigger picture of football and everything that it has to offer while still remaining local in Philadelphia. I'll never not be there, but definitely looking forward to... I don't know. It's a different chapter. In some ways, I'll be able to experience more things and do things that I've never done before, which is exciting.

[01:04:52]

It was cool being the tag team of the National Football League. Pretty cool shit. Yeah, I didn't talk to you about it. I let you do your own thing, and I could have been more proud listening to you yesterday. It's been a lot of emotions, a lot of sad emotions, a lot of exciting emotions. I mean, you got the fucking world in your palm right now, dude. You got three little ones that I know you're dying to watch grow up. Oh, yeah. It's just a lot of exciting future things that we have to look forward to. Absolutely. Back to the speech. Can I see the Kleenex real quick so I can just get over this thing real fast?

[01:05:48]

I'm sorry. I would be crying more, but I wasted all of my tears.

[01:05:53]

You know I got plenty of those.

[01:05:56]

I'll probably break down here at some point.

[01:05:59]

You hit the intensity Any of the Philly fans, man. It was awesome. You hit it spot on. You've been spot on with it your entire career. Here in Bernstein, Jason, your guy tell you that Philly is an awesome city. You're going to love it. You embodied that place before you even knew you embodied it. And your toughness, your desire for excellence, your drive to be the best and not settle for anything other than that. The way you talked about the Philly fan base was It's so spot on. Honestly, being here in Philly for the past 13 years, I feel like I've become a part of this sports town. It's so random. I was a huge Flyers fan growing up. Because of Eric Lindrauss and John LeClerc, and for you to come in here and become idles like that for kids has been pretty damn cool. Did you always want to make the announcement alongside the Eagles organization? Was that in your mind to stay a Philadelphia Eagle your entire career?

[01:07:03]

Well, yeah, you want to. I mean, I've been very blessed to have that opportunity. I even talked about it in the speech that almost didn't happen, right? There's so many things that need to go right for you to stay in one spot. The organization has to want you. Financially, it has to work out. Then you got to want to continue to play in the same spot. I think it's really hard to do in any sport in today's age. It's very rare that both of those sides and the financial thing line up for your whole career. It was a goal. I talked about it. We saw everybody leaving Cleveland. Did Big Z ever play anywhere else? That's the only guy that I've known. Drunis. It's a Drunis. Might have been the only one.

[01:07:45]

He's the only one.

[01:07:46]

Listen, I still love Jim Tomei. I love Manny and all the guys that played in Cleveland. But there's something that happens when somebody leaves that I think, especially as a kid, It's awkward or different wrapping your head around it. I've been very lucky and fortunate to stay in Philadelphia, and it was certainly a goal, and I'm happy that it happened.

[01:08:11]

Was there any other way that you were going to do this announcement? Or were you going to jump in through the table? Or were you just about to be like, All right, I'm done, and then just jump on the burning table? No. Did it ever cross your mind you were going to do it any other way?

[01:08:23]

No. I wanted to do it at the facility in a press conference with people in organization there. I think that felt right. There's too many of those people that were a part of it just as much as I was. Yeah, that was the only way I ever envisioned it.

[01:08:39]

Well, you talked about some of your favorite moments in your speech, obviously, and you had some great shoutouts to the The '879' your great speech. Coach Siriani sending you the kegs, and of course, Nikki Foles in the Philly special. Do you think that any other retirement speech, past or present, will ever mention a teammate's- Schlange. How should we put this? Hammer?

[01:09:03]

Sausage. I mean, I hope not. I hope it doesn't become like common place that everybody's just referencing this.

[01:09:11]

He's like, All right, who's got the biggest day? How can I thank him?

[01:09:13]

It's just so legendary. I felt like It needed to be a part of it.

[01:09:18]

Dude, it was so perfect because obviously, it was very emotional. You do a great job of keeping things light and fun. That was such a good fucking line.

[01:09:27]

Mix in some moments where people can have a laugh here and there.

[01:09:31]

Got to.

[01:09:31]

Yeah. Listen, that was an iconic moment of the Super Bowl. Nick and Doug, together, somehow decided to call it trick play on fourth down. It ended up being one of the biggest plays in football history at this point. That had to be in there. It was in there. It wasn't as colorful at first. I was like, Let's screw this.

[01:09:53]

Full send. Jason Kelsey style. Let's go. That's the only way to do it. Come on. I think there was, I don't want to say a little bit of doubt, but there was a little bit of question I don't know whether or not you would get or transpire in the league as you did in college, to become as successful in the NFL as everyone. There's that question for everybody. When I saw you taking snaps with Michael Vick, that put you in heroes' world for me. You dimmed down and dimmed the lights on the stars that we imagined growing up that, holy smoke, they're in the NFL. You made it more achievable for a guy like me knowing that we come from the same place, we're at the same school. There's questions, but at the same time, you're still performing, even with the best that do it in the National Football League that we look at as gods because they're the best to ever do it.

[01:10:50]

Everybody asks, When did you know you were going to play in the NFL? That's when it becomes a reality, is when you see people you know. You had me because I was older, but I had Trevor Canfield, Barry Cofield, I'm trying to- Haruuk. Marty Gileard, Haruki Nakamura. You see these guys that you practice with every day start to play in the league, and you're like, Hey, I competed with these guys in practice every day, and now they're getting a chance. So then it becomes a reality that you're going to get an opportunity. I still remember the first time I snapped it to Mike. The first two quarterbacks I snapped to were Michael Vick and Vin Chung, two absolute freaking legends. It might have been I like Kafka, too. Not as much of a legend. I love Kafka's. Yeah, Mike. Way to get in there. Yeah, it was incredible. That was the first moment where you're like, Holy shit, I'm snapping the ball to the human highlight reel. What is happening right now? The experience itself. This changed quick. It was really quick because my first year was the lockout year.

[01:11:52]

Oh, yeah. So you didn't even get the mini-can. We had no off-season.

[01:11:55]

All off-season, you had to be away from the club, and they lifted it for a couple of weeks for the first either day or two day guys that were drafted. But any third day guy or undrafted guy, I showed up a couple of days before training camp started, and I got the playbook then.

[01:12:13]

That's so insane.

[01:12:13]

And I met those guys for the first time at training camp, and then I'm snapping it to them. I'm like, What the heck is going on right now? This is crazy. Lehigh Valley.

[01:12:23]

Yeah, I'll remember that day forever, man. I was running around UC showing the picture because that's all I had was a picture of it. I did obviously no video of it or anything.

[01:12:32]

Asante Samuel was like, revving up the crowd because there's a bunch of people. It was free to come. The first time I hit a sled, and this is what was cool about Lehigh, which the dorms sucked. You guys still go off campus, but we stopped that a long time ago. But the first time I ever hit a sled, it was like, fat dudes drinking beer right behind me, cheering me on. I'm like, This is way different than Cincinnati.

[01:12:58]

Or they're in the Yeah, we had like, pig people.

[01:13:01]

It was cool.

[01:13:04]

Stout was a major part of your speech. You quoted them a few times, thrice, if I remember correctly, and of course, ending with the hungry dogs run fast.

[01:13:13]

Yeah, baby. I'm still hungry. I can't run fast anymore. That's the problem.

[01:13:17]

I don't know, dude.

[01:13:20]

I'm a porch dog now. Like that basset hound, just freaking...

[01:13:25]

Letting everybody know when someone's coming.

[01:13:27]

That's right. She still got some bark, but not a lot of bite.

[01:13:30]

Yeah. Obviously, you talk to him a lot throughout this entire retirement question, even before this year. Are there any other... Did you talk to him after and just have any actual closure? I know what he meant to your career.

[01:13:47]

We've talked about... Stout and I have talked about that. We've shared tears and words at the end of the last four seasons because we didn't know if it was going to be over or not. I think we've talked about a lot of this stuff already. It's the first time we've really talked publicly about a lot of it. To be clear, I harbor no... Like I said in the speech, I would have gotten rid of me, too, in 2016. I played really bad to start the season, and I don't know that there was enough good tape at the end of the season to warrant keeping me in the future. I think Stout really firmly believed that I still had enough strengths and upside, and he I really firmly believe if I stopped putting my hands up high on these big fat fucking defensive tackles, then I would stop getting pushed back. And sure enough, he was right. You know early in your career- He was dope. Yeah. And early in your career, especially before my sport training of surgery, That was a big turning point for me because you lose a little bit of strength when you have that surgery, I think.

[01:14:50]

Early in my career, I was undersized, but I was very, very strong. I could get away with muscling guys who were bigger than me. And after that surgery, and then after we went away from the tempo often, so the big guys weren't as gassed all the time, things that I was doing that weren't good technique, but getting away with caught up, and they caught up quick.

[01:15:16]

Yeah, that makes sense.

[01:15:17]

And I think Stout really saw that. He was like, Dude, I don't care if you're 400 pounds. If your hands are up here, you're going to get thrown into the quarterback, right? Get your hands up under them. Play with leverage, right? Take them off ground. If you play with leverage, you can survive in this league at the weight you're at. That's not the issue. You have the hips and the strength to anchor at an undersize as long as you use physics. He really firmly believe that. We saw a trans... It wasn't all offseason. It was unique. We started that transition in the season, and it got corrected at the end of the season. We played Baltimore, and Baltimore, huge defense of tackles, big guys.

[01:16:01]

Big voice, especially back in 2016.

[01:16:03]

It was one of my best games of the season. You can survive with proper technique and things in a light of weight. I think there was questions from anybody who isn't as involved on that because they're like, They can't guarantee I'm going to fix this. But I think Stout saw the corrections happening, and there was still the upside of my athleticism and downfield blocking, all the things he wanted to utilize as well, and my ability to make calls and do all that stuff. That's a big part of the game that he didn't want to lose. He was the pivotal guy that really convinced people, I think, to not move on. And credit to them for trusting him. You know what I mean? Listen, that's a big amount of faith to put in a position coach. There's head coaches, there's GMs, there's- Scouts. Scouts. All these people are like, Man, I guess we can trust out for another year. Luckily, It worked out for everybody involved.

[01:17:01]

Hell, yeah, dude.

[01:17:02]

We've all had our ups and downs. I mean, I mentioned in how he was in the other side of the closet that one year. Stout has had his ups and downs, and that's what life is. That's what the NFL is. There's going to be these down times. You guys saw that this year firsthand. Halfway through the season, nobody thought you guys were winning another Super Bowl, and you guys had the fortitude to stick with it. Eagles are dealing with that right now. One of the things that I'm very I don't like... The one thing that I'm disappointed about retiring right now is I'm retiring when the Eagles had potentially the biggest collapse in the history of the organization. Not potentially, probably the most. The reason I say that I'm upset about that is I really truly think the Eagles are going to ball out next year. I think all of those guys, there's still a tremendous amount of talent there. They've hired two really good coaches that are going to be able to offer a new perspective and look at things with a fresh lens. I think Jalen Hertz is a tremendous quarterback. I know it wasn't a good end of the year for him or for anybody on offense.

[01:18:13]

There's no doubt in that.

[01:18:13]

But there's still so many pieces. There's plenty of cap space. I know how he's going to make some moves to improve the things that need to get fixed.

[01:18:20]

He always does.

[01:18:21]

I just really think there's going to be one hell of a bounce back from the Philadelphia Eagles next year. It really It pains me that I'll be a part of it in some way. I'm still going to go down the facilities. I'm still going to help out in any way I can, but I'm also going to be doing other things. I'm not going to be on the field doing it with those guys, but I can damn sure at least appreciate it from afar. That is one thing I'm really upset about the timing of, but it is what it is. It's just I have to enjoy it in a different way.

[01:18:57]

Yeah. Well, there's Well, Stout had an amazing thing that he threw out on the Twitter X. Jason, some of my fondest coaching moments have been by your side these past 11 years. I'm so proud of the player you've worked to become and the legacy you've built. I'll miss having you by my side. It's been an honor, and I congratulate you on the incredible career, man. It was cool just hearing him last night at the dinner and hearing him say how happy he was that you're in a good place, and that you're there for it. Man, just got so much respect for that guy. Do you have any stoutisms? We've been talking about this. We heard three quotes. We got to get these stout. There's so many. We got to get you, Lane, Jordan, to just... And even bring in JP. Jp has probably got some good stoutisms.

[01:19:55]

If you ask enough guys, they'd all remember enough of them. Some of them are just so off the cuff, and they're hilarious in the moment. I don't even know if I'll say it, but he has this one thing that he... Well, he has a bunch. I said the three, no man has an eye on the majority of streams from others. Hunger Dogs run faster. Oftentimes, the easy way is the wrong way. That's like pounding salt up a fat lady's ass when it's a hard run play to run into a good defense. I don't know why that makes sense, but it does. Not the most politically correct at all times. He's a gem, though. He's a gem, an absolute gem. There's a lot of other ones that are more politically correct, but I can't think of them right now. Those ones stick out really hard. Lobster Man If you're using your hands, if you're just laying them on top, they're like claws. I'll have to start jotting down some of the ones. It's like, I don't know him from Adam's House cat. Who the fuck is Adam's House cat? What are you talking about, dude? He's got so many just off the wall.

[01:21:03]

Keeps it fresh, baby. Dude, I love it.

[01:21:05]

It is tremendous. Keeps it fresh. No doubt.

[01:21:07]

Well, shout out to Stout. Appreciate you always having my guys back, man. Let's get into what's next is a retirement edition of We Got to ask, but you don't got to answer. First things first, did you finally get rid of or clean out that fucking locker?

[01:21:22]

Somebody did. They cleaned it up for you. When you're done playing- They just threw it in a U-haul.

[01:21:28]

It was like, Hey, it's down at the storage unit.

[01:21:31]

When you get done playing, they move that stuff quick. They got to make room. The locker is, for the most part, cleaned out. I actually didn't go and check it if everything got moved out of there yet, but it is definitely clean. They can finally clean the carpeting underneath all the boxes. There we go. There we go. Stuff that was piling up. There were still a bunch of jerseys. I owe so many guys jerseys. We've talked about that before. I got to send out probably- Welcome to the team. I Probably over 20 jerseys to guys that I owe them to.

[01:22:02]

Dude, I owe the entire Patriots tight-end unit. Jersey, all three of them. Farrell Brown, Henry. Maybe that's my next. I love you guys. I promise you, I'm going to get them out. I'm going to get them out. Obviously, you don't know exactly what you're doing over the offseason other than becoming a full-time cattle farmer in Missouri. Full-time, yeah. Do you know how you're going to spend some of this time coming up this offseason?

[01:22:28]

I don't. No, I think I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do during the season, whether that's- Touche, yeah.

[01:22:37]

Get ahead on that.

[01:22:38]

Yeah. Obviously, I'm not going to be a full-time coach, but is there a level that I can help out the team still or help out the young guys, whatever, figure out if there's a role there.

[01:22:49]

Coach Kels?

[01:22:50]

You just need to- Stopwatch?

[01:22:52]

Stopwatch and a whistle, dude. An advisor. I can see it. I'm not a big advisor guy. Your shirt's already tucked in.

[01:22:57]

I am a tucked-in shirt guy. I don't know why, but it feels right. I look forward to doing stuff that's not football. I've been so committed to the sport for so long.

[01:23:09]

Thirty-six years.

[01:23:12]

It's embarrassing when your wife knows how to do more housework around. Her dad's an electrician. She can fish wires. Kyla can fish wires.

[01:23:23]

Jason, you don't know how to...

[01:23:24]

You know how to fish a wire? Yes. When did you ever fish a wire?

[01:23:28]

When I was connecting my speakers that Aunt Judy gave me. Started cutting and tying. Really? Yeah.

[01:23:35]

No, I'm talking about in walls. No. Yeah. I've never done that. That's what I'm talking about. She could put in a new outlet if she wanted to.

[01:23:43]

It's probably a step ahead of what I wanted.

[01:23:45]

Yeah, exactly.

[01:23:46]

Got it. Yeah, I don't-Shout to Ky for being the handyman around the house.

[01:23:50]

I like experiencing new things. I like to show Forge and Fire. I want to go to a blacksmith and make a freaking knife. That'd be fun.

[01:23:59]

Count me in on that one. Don't do that without me. You want to go? I want to make a sword.

[01:24:03]

Well, a sword is a whole nother undertaking. I don't know that we're good enough to just go in there and make a sword. We can Samurai sword. You make some metal hot enough. You can pound it into an edge. You want a Samurai sword? You want to go straight to the most complex thing?

[01:24:17]

I want a Fruit Ninja in real life.

[01:24:20]

Let's go do it.

[01:24:22]

You grow the fruit, I'll get the Samurai. Is there a player you're glad that you'll never line up against ever again? Mine was JJ Juan when he retired. I was like, God, thank God that guy is out of here. Fuck. By the way, JJ hit us and was like, Dude, we got to get on the ice. I want to go. I saw him out there on the ice and it looked electric.

[01:24:42]

I saw him out there, he was doing some one-timers. Dude, Yeah, it was good. Ironically, I reached out to a guy that's given Wyatt Skating Lessons before, and I think I'm going to get out with him, Wyatt and Elliott, out on the ice. Nice.

[01:24:53]

Get them going early. We're about Wyatt's age.

[01:24:56]

You might have been. I didn't start skating until I was seven or eight. I started a little bit later than what you would ideally want a kid to start at. I tried to get her out earlier. She was like two and a half when I first got her out there. Too early.

[01:25:08]

She was not fucking with it.

[01:25:09]

She was terrified.

[01:25:11]

Yeah, so was I.

[01:25:11]

I just got to-I think it will help that I can go out with her now, too, though. I'm going to go out on the ice, and I think if dad's out there with him, because it was the same thing like gymnastics. Gymnastics, she wanted nothing to do with the trampoline. In the moment, like Kylie and I are there with her, then she's into it. Yeah, nice.

[01:25:28]

So no player that you're I mean, Aaron Donald, I guess, but I didn't really line up against Aaron that much.

[01:25:35]

There were players that were hard to line up against, but oftentimes, those are the guys that you liked playing against the most.

[01:25:43]

I hear you. The biggest challenge. Yeah.

[01:25:44]

Well, it was just like... It meant a little bit more. I mean, there's guys that kick my ass for sure, but that doesn't mean that I didn't like trying to beat them.

[01:25:59]

It's just Which I had to do.

[01:26:00]

Yeah, exactly. It sucked losing some of the reps, but when you won the ones, it meant that much more.

[01:26:07]

Did you give any advice to Kam? Kam Jurgen's? I think he's a pro. He's a pro is pro at this point, right?

[01:26:13]

Yeah, he's going into his third year. Listen, he's a friend and a teammate. He always will be. So I'll always be able to offer advice and talk to him. I think he is going to be an incredible center. I really do. I think he was great at Guard for us last year. His traits are going to be very, very well used at that position with Jeff Stoutland in particular. I don't think as much as sometimes, some part of me, it'd be nice if there was a drop off of the position. It's like, Yeah, that was really not going to happen. He's going to step in and do great. They got to figure out guard. They drafted Steen last year, Suoapeta. I don't know how some of these free agents and contracts are to shape up or who is or who isn't. But you got Suo Peta, Jack Driskill. There's a bunch of guys that could do it. I'm sure they'll bring in new players or already have. There's still the draft to come up. We'll see who ends up claiming that right guard spot. But the line is in very, very good shape. That's just the reality of it.

[01:27:21]

Kam is going to be a tremendous center, and barring anything happening, he'll be good for a while for the Philadelphia. Yeah.

[01:27:30]

Can't wait to see Kam step into the role, man. On the list of your career achievements, though, where does this one rank? The Eagles misspelled your name when you got drafted on Twitter. Did you know this?

[01:27:42]

No.

[01:27:43]

When they announced the tweet of you getting drafted, the Eagles, hashtag #eagles, select Jason Kelsie, K-E-L-S-E-Y from Cincinnati with the 191st pick. Completely botched your name, and now you're the greatest player to ever play in the Eagles uniform. Yeah, where's that at? They know how to spell your name, at least now. It's probably going to be on the stadium at some point.

[01:28:08]

I firmly like that most of my career had to be earned. I mean this. It is crazy how overrated I am. Shut the fuck up. Dude, listen to me, dude. You're so ridiculous. I'm not even close to the best Eagle in my time with the Philadelphia eagles. Like, Fletcher Cox, Jason Peters, Lane Johnson.

[01:28:31]

I'm not taking anything away from any of them, dude.

[01:28:33]

Just listen to me for a second. There are so many people that have meant more to wins and losses and have been better players.

[01:28:41]

Maybe in the statbook.

[01:28:42]

Not just the statbook. I couldn't block Fletcher Cox one-on-one. It's a legitimate thing. That's fair. But I do know that the credit that I've gotten has been because of the work that's been put in. They didn't know how to spell my name back then, but they know how to spell it now. I like the fact that they didn't know how to spell it back then.

[01:29:08]

Yeah. All right, so it's up there. Sweet. You had a great joke in your speech calling Darren Sproul's 4-8.

[01:29:15]

Sprouls, he reached out to me. Yeah, he did. He reached out. He's a goddamn.

[01:29:21]

We love Sprouls, man. He's 5'6, just for those of you.

[01:29:24]

It's a roster height. Yeah. Roster. Mighty Might.

[01:29:31]

He's the best. Electric. He's my highlight, real man. Hypothetically, a team calls you, only wants you to come in on fourth and one and run the push, would you sign that contract?

[01:29:42]

No, I wouldn't do that. There was a piece- The one player you're like, fucking, thank God, I got to run that again. There was the idea of like, hey, do I just like... Because I could probably still play a couple of games. Do I just sit around and wait- Till a playoff? Until a playoff start? Because a lot of guys do that and more power to them.

[01:30:02]

I hear you.

[01:30:03]

But then you're waiting either for an injury, either you're waiting for somebody to get hurt.

[01:30:07]

I'd have guilt. Exactly.

[01:30:09]

Or you're just going to... They're going to pay me to be a backup guy, and I'll get another shirt bowl.

[01:30:14]

I'm just going in the...

[01:30:16]

For me, at that point, I'm like, You know what? I want to be proactive and just completely go off. That was something that I thought about, but definitely not doing it. I look forward to getting skinny. We're going to get to that here in a second, I guess.

[01:30:31]

All right. Well, if you could do it all over again, would you change it?

[01:30:34]

Nothing. Not a thing. Not a thing. Not even this last year. I hear you. I take that back. I'd take a stripper for sure. But everything happens for a reason. I've been very, very fortunate with all of the teammates and coaches that I've had, and I wouldn't have wanted to play anywhere else, be with anybody else. So I wouldn't change any of that. I might change... I'm not perfect. I've made plenty of mistakes that I, looking back, would have done differently, or I've been an asshole. I've been a jerk. This is the reality of life, right? I think overall, I've been pretty good, but I think for the most part, there's always something you look back on. You're like, Man, I could have been better there.

[01:31:20]

1,000 %. Trust me. I know.

[01:31:24]

No.

[01:31:26]

I just did one in the Super Bowl. All right, that does it for We got to ask, but you don't have to answer. Lastly, there's been an outpouring of love from the Philadelphia community since you made the announcement, really from the entire world. Your teammate Darius Slay chimed in with an idea. You're absolutely not going to love. But everyone else is so fucking on board with it. March fourth should be Kelsey Day in Philly. The man is a true legend. Shout out to Big Place Slay. I'm on board, and I'm pretty sure Philly is on board. It sounds like you have an official day, whether you like it or not.

[01:32:02]

You know damn well I do not support made-up holidays. Slay should know at this point, too.

[01:32:08]

I'm going to trick you into fucking having a beer randomly on every day of your life.

[01:32:13]

You're not going to trick me. He's offering me one, whether it's-One March or every year. Whatever day it is, for the most part. Yeah, I don't think we should do this for sure.

[01:32:19]

Yeah, I think this should just be maybe another mummer's parade, not just on the first of the year, but the fourth of March. Everyone dress up as your mummer.

[01:32:31]

As my mummer? Yeah, everybody in the suit. The Amaline string band mummer suit?

[01:32:34]

Yeah. Have you ever seen those videos where everybody throws on the T-rex suit?

[01:32:39]

No. And runs-I think I know what you're talking about, actually. It's like the air inside of them. Yeah, those are funny.

[01:32:45]

Man, a bunch of Jason Kelsi's running around. Maybe Running of the Bulls?

[01:32:50]

Running of... I mean, I've always wanted to go to that.

[01:32:55]

I mean, you went through a table. What's next? Everyone has to run in flip You wouldn't touch your rhino. I'm not fucking getting in front of that thing. Fuck that.

[01:33:06]

You don't got to outrun it. You just got to outrun me. You already know.

[01:33:11]

I'll go swimming with sharks as long as I'm not the only one in it. I can out swim somebody. Ceremonial keg stands. There's a whole bunch of stuff we can get into, and we will get into it. March fourth, officially Jason Kelsi Day, Philly. No, it's not. Let's get this thing going. Mayor, sign it up.

[01:33:27]

This is not a thing.

[01:33:28]

Put it on paper. Move Moving on. It's time for some special retirement edition in No Dumb Questions, because there's no such thing as dumb questions. Just a bunch of dumb people in a retired dumb ass. All right, so No Dumb Retirement Questions is brought to you by Buffalo Wild Wings. Wings. This is beer, sports. Let's go, sports bar. See, we do have rhythm.

[01:33:49]

It's nice when there's a delay on the stream. We do have rhythm.

[01:33:52]

Still can't harmonize, though.

[01:33:54]

Should we try?

[01:33:54]

No, I'm stuffing.

[01:33:54]

Go, you start. Love. Nailed it. I knew it was the streaming. It's all about Riverside. They got to get their shit fixed.

[01:34:05]

Zack Brown. We're coming, dude. We're on our way, dude. All right, from @corneleiaslasgurly. Cornelius, last girly. Am I saying that right? Cornelius, girly? Cornelius, T, girly?

[01:34:22]

Cornelius, T, girly. Yeah, I think that sounds right. Cornelias- Cornelias-garly.

[01:34:26]

From wherever. Don't know where you're from. @nodumbquestions, once you guys eventually retire, will you keep rooting for the teams you play for or go back to the fans of the Browns since they were your O. G. Team?

[01:34:41]

I'm an Eagles first and foremost.

[01:34:44]

Yeah, and I've probably still cheered a little bit for the Eagles. Like I said, I've become a Philly sports fan myself in that regard.

[01:34:52]

I think fans who haven't played, definitely my own wife. Listen, we are still Cleveland sports fans. I still cheered the Browns on, and I did it my entire career. I'm always rooting for the Browns. There's a slight conflict when the Eagles play the Browns every four years, maybe if they ever go to the Super Bowl together, but that would be the only time. It's not like there's some insane rivalry with the Cleveland Browns and Chiefs and the Eagles. I hear you. I can be fans of all three teams. In my mind. It's still Eagles here. It's Eagles. It's got to be. Then until you retire, it's Chiefs. The moment you retire, it's probably Browns then Chiefs. I respect it. But either way, those are the top three for sure. And then Bills.

[01:35:37]

How about that?

[01:35:39]

Coming out of nowhere. What? They lured me in. Something about that lake, man. Something about that lake, dude. Dude, they were so nice.

[01:35:46]

They were nice to you.

[01:35:48]

Dude, they were so nice. I know that you guys saw, maybe on social media- We were in a hostile environment.

[01:35:53]

I didn't expect it to be nice.

[01:35:54]

I'm just saying.

[01:35:55]

I didn't expect it to be that.

[01:35:56]

It wasn't like they were nice, nice, but they were still I'm not ribbing you, but that's to be expected.

[01:36:02]

Yeah, you want a hostile environment.

[01:36:04]

But we were getting Buffalo Wings of the big tree in. All the Buffalo fans were just excited for the game, and everybody's being nice, and everybody that works there is being nice to us with the wings. We're having Buffalo wings for our first time in Buffalo. It's almost like a, not serendipitous, but like a... I don't know. It's just a unique experience, right? You get to have something that originated someplace. It's cool. Yeah.

[01:36:29]

Well, now you're part of it.

[01:36:31]

Yeah, I think they're easy forth at this point. Nice.

[01:36:35]

From analyzing Taylor. All right. When Jason is ready to talk about it, I'm interested if he's going to shed pounds in retirement since he won't have to maintain the caloric intake needed to play O-line. I was blown away by seeing Allan Faneca after playing, and he's running marathons, dude.

[01:36:56]

Yeah, I'm not doing that.

[01:36:57]

Dude, what?

[01:36:58]

Dude, I don't know how Allan is doing It's all right. But I'm not running on pavement. I tried that already with the 5K. Touche. Not going to make a living doing that. My knees are already best up enough.

[01:37:07]

There have been plenty of O-line men that have chiseled it down.

[01:37:12]

I'm looking forward to that. I'm going to slim down. My goal is 250. Right now, well, this last week, I got down to 285 because I knew I was doing this. Then I had cake three days in a row.

[01:37:29]

There you go. That's nothing compared to what you had.

[01:37:31]

You're right. It wasn't just cake, though. I've been- You had a lot of naan last night.

[01:37:37]

We did.

[01:37:38]

Well, not naan. It was... Oh, my gosh. What was it called?

[01:37:41]

Bread?

[01:37:42]

No, it's not.

[01:37:43]

Pita. Dude, the only thing that thing was missing was some marina sauce and some fucking- Something with a L. Some mozzarella and some- Labash. Labash.

[01:37:51]

Thank you.

[01:37:52]

Whatever it was, it was delicious.

[01:37:54]

Yeah, it was great. I mean, unless you're not going to eat Zaha, so. All right, now. There's different ways to do it, right? I don't personally subscribe to doing extreme diets, like going all the way vegan or all the way carnivore or keto. My man Joe Thomas lost a bunch of weight. He's all keto, and he showed his plan, and I'm like, Dude, more power to you. But fuck, no, I'm not doing that. Joe looks fucking great. Yeah, he looks fantastic, but it's not worth, to me, doing that type of- Dude, the happiness you get from going over to Rita's and just chugging through those things.

[01:38:24]

Exactly.

[01:38:25]

I can't do it every day, but I'm going to still do that occasionally. I downloaded MyFitnessPal and just start tracking calories. I feel like as long as I maintain my protein intake, so I keep my muscle, and just limit the calories, you'll start to lose weight. That's the plan.

[01:38:44]

This guy's got a plan in place, and when Jason Kelsi has a plan, it's fucking done with. That's right. That was No Dumb Questions, brought to you by Buffalo Wild Wings. Let's go, sports bar. Before we wrap, we do have one special video message I got a message for you, Jason, just to end this thing with you bawling in tears. All right, let's see.

[01:39:04]

Because what's more special than that? I know that guy.

[01:39:06]

A lot of people reached out to the show wanting to share their congratulations. Let's take a look at those messages now. I'm so proud of you. It's such an honor being your teammate. I'm so excited about what's next for you. As always, great speech. Everyone loved it.

[01:39:24]

I'm sure you did.

[01:39:25]

We got some great laughs, some tears, everything in between. Oh, my God, you finally did it. You've always been an amazing teammate, an amazing friend of me, man. I really appreciate you. I can't say enough good things about you. Just wanted to say congratulations on your retirement. Thank you for being the greatest teammate that I've ever played with. You're one of the few teammates I ever had that was younger than me, and I actually looked up to as the guy you are, man. The way you lead with your heart, what you see is what you get. I really think you're one in a million in that way. The three words that come on my mind, I think of passion, legacy, an underdog. It's been a long, great ride, and I've enjoyed every moment that we've been able to share on that field.

[01:40:06]

Jason, congratulations on your career. Hell of a run. Wish you the best in this new chapter of your life.

[01:40:11]

Truly incredible career, man. I definitely do not miss lining up on the other side and having you point out exactly what Blitz were running, exactly where the pressure is coming from. You're too smart and too athletic. You don't get to have both. You got to choose one.

[01:40:24]

From one girl dad to another. I'm super excited to watch your next chapter.

[01:40:31]

2017 still haunt me.

[01:40:34]

Just the leader that you are, the competitor that you are, it's been a blessing just to watch you do your thing.

[01:40:40]

Congrats on such an amazing career.

[01:40:43]

What a joy and a pleasure. It's been to watch you. You know what I'm saying?

[01:40:46]

You compete, play your game the way you did all those years.

[01:40:49]

Just wanted to congratulate you on a wonderful career.

[01:40:53]

Hey, Jason, congratulations on your retirement from the NFL. Congratulations on your incredible football career. You did it the right way. You were a great teammate. You did it at the highest level.

[01:41:04]

You did it for a long time.

[01:41:05]

One of the great players at your position. So it's an honor to compete against you.

[01:41:10]

And I have great respect for you for the way you carry yourself on the field and off the field.

[01:41:15]

Jason.

[01:41:16]

Here we go. Deezle.

[01:41:17]

One, I knew you was going to do it. Two, my brother, great career. Love you, love your family. As a diehard Eagles fan, man, it's been fun watching you all these years. Not just the football, your personality, just watching you, you and your family. Thank you for the Super Bowl. Look at all those kids down there at the combine trying to be the next Jason, Kelsey. Good luck to them. It's not going to happen. Good luck to you, Jason. Congrats, man. You deserve all the accolades. What an amazing career.

[01:41:47]

Now go enjoy being a dad, husband, full-time.

[01:41:50]

Welcome to my life. Let me tell you what my life consists of.

[01:41:54]

Nothing.

[01:41:55]

I know you've never done that before. You have your white picture plate.

[01:41:59]

Make your own plate.

[01:42:00]

Watch your own dishes. You take out the garbage now. Welcome to my life, buddy. You have converted yourself into a regular man.

[01:42:07]

Sitting in the stands at the Lincoln, Philadelphia, watching you run out of the tunnel for the first time while hearing your name announced over the stadium speakers. I felt this vast wave of pride that came over me knowing that all your hard work, determination, and persistence paid off for you to realize your dreams. Well, I imagine the pressure That aspect of retirement can be a little daunting, fear of the unknown and all that. I have no doubt that whatever it is you do, you will be successful. Because frankly, son, you don't know how to do it any other way. I've had the privilege to travel to the most amazing places. The city of Philadelphia will forever be proud of the young man they adopted back in 2011.

[01:42:53]

I hope you're working on your pickleball game. We're talking a little smack about it. And also your beer chug. Yeah. Still got it. I'm not going to get too famous and not change at all. Please don't change, bro. I love you. Thanks for everything. I wish you nothing but the best in your next life, brother. So thank you. I'm honored to call you a friend. I'm honored to call you a teammate. I just want to congratulate you on your retirement. You're already killing it on your podcast with your brother, your mom.

[01:43:23]

Everyone's involved in everything.

[01:43:26]

Good luck in the next chapter. Exciting things ahead for you, pal. I wish you the very best for the new beginning. Go ahead, get that gold jacket fitted. Me and Bo are going to need two tickets front row, can't we? Give this boy a call sometime. We can hang out.

[01:43:39]

From now on, you have zero excuses not to come fishing.

[01:43:42]

I'm hoping to get out on the ice together soon or at least crack a few beers, man. I'm ready to roll whenever you are, buddy. Wait till I'm done with my job before you try to take it, all right? Don't come take my job, all right? I like what I'm doing. Don't steal. You're going to be stealing money on television at some point. Good luck to you. Whatever is next to call, I know you'd be great at it.

[01:44:01]

Watching you living your life to the fullest has been the most fulfilling part of my life. Jason, congratulations on an outstanding career. Kudos, dude. And go birds. That's pretty awesome.

[01:44:17]

Congrats, Big guy. You deserve it, man.
