[00:04:35]

Sadly. Sadly, the closest six game series in the history of the sport. The Knicks ended up winning the series by one point.

[00:04:42]

It was an awesome series. Yeah, it was a great series. It came down to the last seconds of the last, you know, game six. Obviously, we didn't get. We were robbed of a game seven.

[00:04:51]

I wanted a game seven so bad.

[00:04:53]

I wanted a game seven so bad.

[00:04:54]

I know we're not supposed to look ahead in the playoffs. I wanted a game seven. I wanted the Sixers truly to win the series. I wanted them to advance. I wanted Celtic Sixers at some point down the line, looking ahead, and I feel like we were robbed of that. But credit to the Knicks. The Knicks.

[00:05:10]

They were the Knicks.

[00:05:11]

And they're a very good team, well coached, fun to watch.

[00:05:16]

They're just dogs. They just dominate the offensive glass. They are a mirror image of their coach. Jalen Brunson had a tough first. What? Couple games. He then finished the last four games of this series. 39 points, 47 points, 40 points, 41 points.

[00:05:34]

Yeah.

[00:05:35]

Crazy.

[00:05:35]

Controlled the whole game.

[00:05:36]

Controlled it. Also I noticed, I think Tibbs might be going bald. Have you noticed that?

[00:05:41]

You just noticed that I'm Thibodeau.

[00:05:42]

I think he's going. I think I.

[00:05:44]

It's probably for a while.

[00:05:45]

It's probably reached the time like I didn't notice until now. Cuz he's always had a little bit of hair on there.

[00:05:50]

He's got the thieves got the like couple, couple strands that are swooped over to give you the illusion of hair.

[00:05:57]

No, yeah, I know. I've noticed it for seven years. But it's time, Tom.

[00:06:01]

Yeah.

[00:06:01]

Doc Rivers, also Doc Rivers bald. Well, he's got the line and then there's just nothing on top. Yeah, it's like, it's. It's almost like, like when. When they basically, you know, when manifest destiny. We started making states out west. All right, we're just gonna do. We should make this one a rectangle.

[00:06:19]

Yeah.

[00:06:19]

He's Utah.

[00:06:20]

Utah.

[00:06:20]

He's Utah state border.

[00:06:22]

Yeah.

[00:06:23]

No, but Tom. Tom is probably the goat of it's time to come home.

[00:06:27]

Yeah, but it's also never.

[00:06:29]

But he's not going to do it.

[00:06:29]

Yeah, because he. That's what he doesn't care. He cares about basketball.

[00:06:33]

Yeah, that's it.

[00:06:34]

If he's getting a haircut, that's less time that he's grinding film.

[00:06:36]

Yes.

[00:06:36]

I did see one Knicks fan that was really impressed. This was, I think maybe over the weekend. Tom Thibodeau was pumping gas at a gas station. Somebody took a picture of like, oh my God, Tom Thibodeaux. Gritty guy. Even pumps his own gas. That's wild.

[00:06:50]

Yeah.

[00:06:50]

Batman pumps his own gas.

[00:06:52]

That's nuts.

[00:06:52]

It's crazy.

[00:06:53]

That must be a New Jersey Nick fan.

[00:06:55]

I guess so.

[00:06:55]

Yeah.

[00:06:55]

They don't pump their own gas.

[00:06:57]

It was a great series. I wish we would had another game. I liked the back and forth between New York and Philly, too. I like the fact that New York is all in.

[00:07:05]

It's good. It's a.

[00:07:06]

It's a good sports sound where they have a good team that's cooking.

[00:07:08]

Oh, yeah.

[00:07:08]

So I'm. I'm excited for the city of New York. I feel bad for the city of Philadelphia. However, happy Tobias Harris is no longer your problem day, Max.

[00:07:19]

Yeah, Max, also, you said at the end of the game, this one feels different. I agree with you, but I didn't hear your reasoning, so unload on us.

[00:07:30]

Well, first of all, this is the first offseason where we have cap space and we have some room to make some, a difference in our line. James maybe, LeBron James maybe, which I don't necessarily like. Obviously, it would be nice to get Paul George or LeBron James. And even if we don't like just using that Tobias money to go get guys like Dante, like the role players that the Knicks had, who are really good, that go and get guys like that who can surround and beat and hit shots, which, to be fair, tonight, all the role players were fantastic. So I can't even really complain about that. Except for Tobias Harris zero points.

[00:08:07]

Last game was a sixer, and the Knicks role players were not good. Yeah, they had, they had five points off the bench. Like, their starters did everything.

[00:08:13]

So, like, that was something that, like, going into the sear, going, like, going into the night. That's what that was. Like, the silver lining, like, in the back of your head, and it also feels different. Like, I know Joe LMB gets a ton of shit. He had a great series. He had a fantastic series.

[00:08:29]

Minus all the WWE shit.

[00:08:32]

Minus the WWE shit. Yes on, yes, minus the WWE shit. But he was really good tonight. Closeout game. That's a huge gripe that he's had against him in his whole career. Agreed, is that he's been terrible in closeout games. He was fantastic tonight. 39 points, absolute dog. Third quarter, like, really kept us in it. When Max, he couldn't really do anything. The end of the game. Max, he kind of, Maxie was the one that hit the big and won to tie it up, and we just made plays in this series that were very different than past Sixers losses. A lot of other times, it was like we, we choked. We choked the Celtics series, we choked the Hawks series. And you go into the offseason, be like, what are we going to do? What are we going to do? Like, last year, we were like, we're going to lose James Harden. We're going to be a worst team next year. How are we going to come back from this?

[00:09:23]

He was on a really good path there, and it was like a rational, reasoned Max that we were getting sorry.

[00:09:30]

And you know what?

[00:09:31]

And you might have.

[00:09:31]

I don't think that we were, I don't think that we were worse this year.

[00:09:34]

Personal growth for Max, because in, in that moment, Max wanted to jump through the glass and strangle Hank with his own microphone cord. Yeah, Max took a deep breath, composed himself. I think he's on the right track. Hank, please don't do that again.

[00:09:45]

I apologize. Sorry, Max.

[00:09:48]

But it was also. It also was a very funny.

[00:09:51]

You were incorrect.

[00:09:52]

Yes.

[00:09:52]

Well, yes, Joel Embiid missed fair 50% of the season, so, yes, technically, they won less games this year than they did the year prior.

[00:10:00]

Correct.

[00:10:00]

So good job.

[00:10:00]

Hank didn't go as far in the playoffs.

[00:10:02]

Well, yeah, when you're the 7th seed and you have to go to the two seed in the first round, it's not exactly the same.

[00:10:07]

Right.

[00:10:07]

So.

[00:10:08]

So you maybe were maybe get a little bit of context one time, Hank.

[00:10:11]

Well, maybe, you know, if you pick someone that's not made out of class and they wouldn't miss half the regular season, then they could go and have a better season.

[00:10:17]

These are all fair playoffs. He's trying to cut your mic.

[00:10:22]

I actually think it's fair points on all sides.

[00:10:24]

No, it's not.

[00:10:26]

Hank is upset that I'm acting rationally right now, and he wants me to get angry, and I'm not gonna do it.

[00:10:32]

You're not gonna do it. We're not even gonna bring up the butt crack?

[00:10:35]

The butt crack was bad.

[00:10:37]

It wasn't that bad.

[00:10:38]

It wasn't that bad.

[00:10:38]

I see more of your ass on a daily basis.

[00:10:40]

Yeah, but do you understand, like, watching this series, there were so many things that were not six or, like, yes, that happened.

[00:10:46]

I agree with you.

[00:10:47]

But, yeah, the way that you're it, I think you're 100% right. And it's all positive stuff. Like, I think that this is something that you can build off of.

[00:10:54]

You're being. People want you to be sad and angry, and yes, there is that part of it. But with the cap space and the way they fought in this series, especially Joe, and be, like, having injuries, illnesses, everything, and Tyrese Maxey kind of taking that next step of like, oh, fuck, he is a killer. I agree with you. I. It sucks that the Sixers lost, but you're looking the next year being like, okay, this. If we can add this one piece, we might be in a really good spot next year. So I. Fair points, and people want you to be. You're being. You're being real. You've always been real.

[00:11:35]

Yeah, no, I don't. Like, this is how I'm feeling right now. I could go on, like, do this whole act of, like, getting really angry and just lie. Like, this is how I'm feeling right now about it.

[00:11:44]

When the podcast ends in your, you know, going to sleep, you know, scrolling Twitter, and you see all the videos of Knicks fans walking out of your home stadium yelling, fucking bead. You're.

[00:11:54]

That.

[00:11:54]

Is that gonna anger you?

[00:11:56]

Yeah, it sucks, but yes, yes, that will anger me.

[00:11:59]

What about that?

[00:11:59]

What do you want me to say?

[00:12:00]

I was just curious.

[00:12:01]

No question. Just curious. Journalists could keep going. Max, Jalen Brunson is this. Obviously, it was hard for you to root against your Nova guys, but there were moments in this series where it felt like this relationship with Jalen Brunson might not recover because you were getting very angry. He does a really good job of being Trey young, of stopping in the lane, of getting contact, of finishing through contact. He's not one of those guys that. One of my least favorite things that happens in the NBA is guys who constantly look for contact but aren't trying to actually finish the basketball. He does both exceptionally well. Are. How are you feeling about your Nova Knicks and that relationship? Josh Hart, also just an absolute dog. He's never seen an offensive rebound that he didn't think you get. How are you feeling?

[00:12:55]

It's. I need, like, two days.

[00:12:58]

Yeah.

[00:12:59]

And also, like, I was getting very mad about the Brunson plays, but it's also not necessarily me getting mad at Brunson.

[00:13:07]

If he is such.

[00:13:08]

He is such a savvy, acts like a guy who's played in the league for 15 years and knows the game so well. Like, he knows he's getting those calls, right. He should continue to try to get those calls. But if the league has made an emphasis on taking away that play and then just continuing to give it to him time and time again, it was very frustrating for me to see.

[00:13:31]

Yeah.

[00:13:31]

And I agree with you that Max, he does not get the same calls that Brunson gets. Brunson. I think the difference is that Brunson, he plays a little bit more under control when he's driving. He seems like he's got his feet under him. When Max, he drives. Sometimes he's so fast. Yeah, he'll run past, and he'll just start flying through the air, and it looks like he got hit by a car. I know.

[00:13:52]

I think. I think that Tyree actually kind of played.

[00:13:54]

Maybe we don't know. Maybe we don't know.

[00:13:57]

But you forgot about that. Matt. Hank, when you sell. They were worse. Kelly Oubre might have gotten hit by.

[00:14:02]

A car, but he also might not.

[00:14:03]

Have gotten hit by a car.

[00:14:05]

I don't know.

[00:14:05]

And he also crashes Lambo.

[00:14:07]

A couple weeks ago, Schrodinger's rec but.

[00:14:09]

That one was real, I think.

[00:14:10]

But, but Max, what I'm saying is, like, that's something that he can work on because right now he's just focused on getting, getting the shot off, getting to the basket. He'll learn with more time, and I think he'll eventually start to get those calls because this was the postseason where Max, he stepped up and it's like, okay, this is an emerging superstar, right?

[00:14:28]

I think it's all, it's just the.

[00:14:30]

Type of player, too, like, Jalen Brunson, so good. And he, his, his body control and knows exactly when a guy has, is in a bad position. And, like, when we were talking to Caruso about it on Monday, his angles, like, if you, if you just shift a little bit, he knows, okay, I have you, and I also can get you in this position where you're going to, you're going to leave your feet. I'm going to get a foul, and I also can score. I think.

[00:14:54]

I think, Max, you'll learn some of.

[00:14:55]

That, but I think that that's, there's, there are two different games, and I don't think that he, they should switch. Like, Maxie at times, yes, looks out of control, but he knows exactly the positioning of, like, where he is in relation to the basket and where exactly he needs to put the ball on the glass for it to go in.

[00:15:14]

Right.

[00:15:15]

There's so many times where, like, he will put up a shot around the rim and it will have zero angle to it, but he knows exactly where to put it and what spin to put on it for it to go in. So it's kind of like, it's a little bit of controlled chaos that I think for Maxi, and I think that's part of what makes him really good.

[00:15:32]

He wasn't great tonight.

[00:15:33]

He was not.

[00:15:34]

He was bad. He looked a little lost in the beginning. His shot was way off.

[00:15:38]

Yeah.

[00:15:39]

Hank actually winced when I said emerging.

[00:15:41]

Superstar and Maxi, and we forgot to say buddy healed.

[00:15:44]

And Buddy healed.

[00:15:45]

Buddy healed.

[00:15:46]

Game.

[00:15:46]

He finally shot.

[00:15:47]

Right.

[00:15:47]

He finally shot. And they went in the buddy healed game.

[00:15:50]

So also campaign game camp.

[00:15:52]

Well, every game is a campaign game per campaign.

[00:15:54]

He tried to get his revenge against Villanova.

[00:15:56]

Yeah.

[00:16:01]

They brought that up in the broadcast.

[00:16:04]

Yeah.

[00:16:04]

Great storyline, Hank, if you wince, I.

[00:16:06]

Imagine that there's some listeners out there that winced as well. You, you do not think that Max, he is an emerging superstar.

[00:16:11]

No, no, no.

[00:16:12]

He is.

[00:16:12]

He's young enough.

[00:16:13]

He's good.

[00:16:14]

He's got potential.

[00:16:16]

Maybe get him out of Philly and he'll really, you know, take the next step.

[00:16:19]

Hmm.

[00:16:22]

I mean, Tyrese Max, he's better than Jalen Brown for sure. You would trade Jalen Brown for Tyrese Maxi immediately trade offer. Or right now you take somebody Photoshop.

[00:16:33]

Max's face with a soul patch onto it, onto that guy. Trade off.

[00:16:38]

No trade.

[00:16:43]

Yeah, Hank, I think takes that trade. That trade. I think Brad Stevens take that trade.

[00:16:47]

Yeah, maybe with their current contracts, but not off pure skill.

[00:16:52]

I mean, Max, he's going to get a Mac, a Max contract this summer.

[00:16:54]

Jalen Brown just signed like, the biggest.

[00:16:56]

Contract in NBA history and he was about to get traded.

[00:16:59]

Yeah.

[00:17:01]

Good, good recap of the series. Max, I'm proud of you.

[00:17:06]

Yeah, that's just how, that's just genuinely how I'm feeling right now. I'm sure some Sixers fans will be all fake fan. Why aren't you, why aren't you crying? Like, this is just how I'm feeling right now.

[00:17:15]

It feels different and it also feels like the right team won this series. I know that you might disagree, but, you know, we had the game two fiasco. We also had game five, which was crazy. And it feels like it all kind of evened out and the Knicks were just the better team inside this series. Like, it just, and you could say injury, you say whatever you want, but I think that when you have that result where you're like, yeah, if they kept on playing, if they played a million, seven game series, I think the next would take four before the, the Sixers. Every time in this iteration. No, every time.

[00:17:47]

If they played the series, a million.

[00:17:49]

In this exact setup with Embiid, hurt, sick, everything.

[00:17:54]

I just think the Knicks were like a million times.

[00:17:57]

They get, okay, maybe not a million times. I'm sorry.

[00:17:59]

I think if it was a ten series series. Yeah, I think. I think would win. I'd say like six. I think they'd win six out of ten, seven games.

[00:18:09]

Yes, I agree. I agree with a ten game.

[00:18:12]

Ten series. Four games before the.

[00:18:19]

Yeah, but like, but to say probably that if they do that series, a million, shut up.

[00:18:25]

About a million. Also called the hyperbole.

[00:18:27]

900,000 out of a million.

[00:18:29]

Also a ten series series is a ridiculous format. Should be an eleven series.

[00:18:33]

Do you think the right team won this series?

[00:18:38]

The Knicks played very hard.

[00:18:40]

The better team.

[00:18:40]

The Knicks played very, very team won this series. I'm sorry to say it a million times is wrong. I strike a million times from the record. When do we fucking do next?

[00:18:49]

Played very.

[00:18:50]

When do we do semantics. Police here.

[00:18:52]

It's crazy.

[00:18:52]

Back me up.

[00:18:53]

I think part of it, too. It's kind of sad to see as it's unfolded, but I think Max has just, you know, resigned to losing these games. He was a little green when he came on the podcast, and he was excited and he wanted to, you know, it's over. Be passionate Philly fan. And now he just knows, like, he's going to lose. Every time he watched in the gambling cave, he's like, I always lose in here.

[00:19:16]

Yeah, he's in here. He wants him over.

[00:19:19]

He's happy that he doesn't have to.

[00:19:21]

Yeah.

[00:19:21]

It's like, yeah, he wasn't going to win the title, so it's like, yeah, he wanted to win this series, but the loss was coming eventually.

[00:19:27]

Yeah.

[00:19:28]

What used to be a bright, sunshiny day when he got to the playoffs, it turns out that light is a freight train.

[00:19:33]

He did have a bounce in his step today, though. It was nice to see him bouncing around. He kind of floats when he's got that going.

[00:19:39]

Does it? Was.

[00:19:40]

It was good yesterday.

[00:19:41]

I literally spent from morning until I went to sleep consuming all Tyrese maxi content. I would listen to every podcast that talked about him. I watched every ESPN, like, YouTube, and it was. It was like, so much fun to.

[00:19:56]

Just be like, yeah, that's. I mean, we say it a million times. If you're. Your sports suck, rooting for sports suck, your team is not going to win 99% of the time.

[00:20:06]

Yeah.

[00:20:06]

So you got to enjoy the ride, and you got to enjoy the big wins when they happen. Speaking of Hank, we'll talk about the Bucks Pacers. But, Hank, you have taken down the heat for one easy win.

[00:20:23]

Easy two wins.

[00:20:23]

Yeah.

[00:20:24]

Didn't even break a sweat.

[00:20:25]

Didn't even break a sweat.

[00:20:26]

It held him to, what, under 90 points? He scored over 100.

[00:20:30]

Again, just demolition bench players played, like.

[00:20:34]

Last ten minutes of the game.

[00:20:35]

Yeah, the. You're. You're going to be fresh. Every other team in the east is, like, injured or, you know, Giannis is out and beat is out.

[00:20:44]

Well, yeah, the whole Sixers team is out.

[00:20:47]

No, I'm. That's what I'm saying. They're out of the playoffs.

[00:20:48]

He wasn't talking about injuries.

[00:20:50]

Yeah, Giannis is out of the playoffs, as well. Got it. You still gonna be measured? Same by game. Sour pussy.

[00:21:03]

I'm positive vibes. I've always been positive vibes. I'm just, you know, calm, cool, collected.

[00:21:07]

But. But I have.

[00:21:10]

I have an offer for you.

[00:21:11]

Hank.

[00:21:12]

You're gonna kill the East Hank, what do you got?

[00:21:14]

Because we do need cocky Hank back. So I'm willing to negotiate on one point. If Cocky Hank does not make a return in this next series.

[00:21:26]

Sounds like ransom.

[00:21:28]

He's negotiating.

[00:21:29]

If he doesn't come back. Okay, I'll put it this way. If Cocky Hank does come back, we won't release the Hank and Drake may t shirt.

[00:21:40]

Okay, do you want that t shirt out?

[00:21:45]

I mean, that picture is coming out and like. No, I, like.

[00:21:49]

I did update it. There is now a Bruins fly and the leafs flag in the back.

[00:21:54]

Want to release that and start that. I will come back, and that's fine, but I know you're gonna hold it over my head no matter what. Like, it's one of those things where if you're gonna do it this way, if you're just.

[00:22:03]

I'm not like, no, we're gonna.

[00:22:04]

I don't keep asking you to do stuff, and if you don't do it, we'll release a picture. Just fucking release it.

[00:22:09]

No, I want.

[00:22:10]

I'm.

[00:22:12]

No, I don't. I. I'm throwing the picture side. I just want cocky Hank because, you know, I know. We all know the Celtics are going to the finals.

[00:22:22]

You know, the east is a cakewalk.

[00:22:23]

There we go.

[00:22:25]

Come on.

[00:22:26]

The cakewalk.

[00:22:27]

It should be.

[00:22:27]

They should lose one, maybe two games.

[00:22:29]

What did I say?

[00:22:30]

Original.

[00:22:31]

Yeah, yeah, whatever. You said seven and a half.

[00:22:34]

It's gonna be. It should be three. The over under should be three. Maybe one series next. Next game, which would you playing?

[00:22:40]

The Cavs of the magic. Next? Yeah, come on.

[00:22:44]

I.

[00:22:44]

Where.

[00:22:45]

Where do they even show these games?

[00:22:47]

Oh, NBA tv. Yeah, like that.

[00:22:50]

Playing the NBA tv.

[00:22:52]

They're barely even televised.

[00:22:55]

Yeah.

[00:22:55]

People, like, logging into their parents YouTube account.

[00:22:57]

Oh, man. Hanks back. Here's the thing, Hank. I fully understand when, like, all we want is Cocky Hank. For the rest of the Eastern Conference playoffs, once you get to the final, you can be. You can deal with the finals however you want to because that's a totally different beast.

[00:23:12]

And.

[00:23:12]

And there's a lot of really good teams in the west. The east is a joke right now.

[00:23:16]

The east is a joke.

[00:23:17]

And as much as it's fun as it is to beat up on Philly and Philly fans in the playoffs, it has kind of gotten a little bit, I guess, stale just because it's happened, you know, over there.

[00:23:25]

Done that.

[00:23:26]

Yeah.

[00:23:26]

Knicks fans.

[00:23:27]

Oh, they're high. Fresh meat. They're riding high. They got the whole shit.

[00:23:34]

It would be great for them to beat Indiana probably in, like, seven games, and then get all excited. Everyone's hyped up, the garden buzzing, and then just come out and smoke.

[00:23:44]

Yeah.

[00:23:44]

We got the big Apple against the big asshole.

[00:23:47]

Yeah.

[00:23:47]

Come on. Yeah, I'm back. I want Nick's fans, channing, we want Hank. After they win game one against Indiana.

[00:23:54]

It is ridiculous that they. I think it was after game two, they said, we want Boston.

[00:23:58]

Yeah.

[00:23:58]

I mean, I love Knicks fans.

[00:24:00]

Worse.

[00:24:00]

I mean, they're all delusional than Philly.

[00:24:03]

No, but here's what, here's what's crazy about how likable this Knicks team is, how hard they play is. They have turned the city of New York into an underdog, which is so hard to do.

[00:24:13]

Knicks fans fucking suck.

[00:24:14]

No, I'm talking about. I'm talking about the team I like.

[00:24:17]

I'm talking about the Knicks. Just the team, not the fans. The team is fun to watch. They're easy to root for. So they're gonna be a lot of casuals, are they that. I think so.

[00:24:26]

Yeah, they're.

[00:24:26]

They play hard.

[00:24:27]

I don't think New York's easy to root for in any sport, I think.

[00:24:30]

No, I guess if they're playing the Celtics, like, people rooting for the Knicks and that.

[00:24:33]

Yeah, yeah. I just like.

[00:24:35]

I mean, Nick, listen, when the Knicks are good, like, New York is a basketball town first, and it's like, they're never good. Right? But they're good now, and. Oh, not.

[00:24:48]

It must feel so good for Hank. Like, you're letting it all.

[00:24:50]

Yeah, you're back. Like, I see it on your face. You're back. Well, I just had heat.

[00:24:55]

Like, the heat.

[00:24:56]

The heat.

[00:24:56]

He had our number. Yeah, that game two game, when it's like, no, no, no. Like, we. This can't be happening. I got rattled and then, you know, the last two games back, status quo, game four. That's why I said it had to be three blows. Just get through the series.

[00:25:10]

We did. Our guy, Derek White has been insane.

[00:25:12]

Everything just opens up. Yeah, the whole team's played well. And prozingus don't even play him against.

[00:25:17]

Whatever.

[00:25:18]

The cavericks. Just let him rest. Fully healthy. For Knicks or Indiana?

[00:25:24]

Wait, that was the Cavericks cav? Yeah, that's the Mavericks and the Cavs. The Kajik. The Kajiks.

[00:25:37]

The majoliers.

[00:25:39]

Yeah.

[00:25:40]

It's good to have you back.

[00:25:41]

Yeah, it feels really good.

[00:25:43]

You know how, like, killer whales, their dorsal fin curls over when they're in captivity? That was Hank.

[00:25:47]

Hanks.

[00:25:47]

Tokate. Yeah, he's just been flown across the country now. His dorsal fins up.

[00:25:51]

Yeah, he was a dog with his tail between his legs. Now he's wagging his tail again, ready to go play some ball.

[00:25:56]

You're like Miss Peaches.

[00:25:57]

Yeah.

[00:25:59]

Tummy tax.

[00:26:01]

Let me take, let me kiss that tummy.

[00:26:03]

Oh, no. Good.

[00:26:05]

It feels like a weight just came off your shoulder because I understand the heat were the boogeyman for you. They're, they're scary in the fact that nothing makes sense with the heat. But now you, dude, the magic, the Cavs.

[00:26:17]

Yeah, like I said, I mean, again, the, the, I, the finals is a problem. I'm not, I'm not looking past the finals whatsoever. That's going to be a whole different issue. We just got to hope that we get in there well rested. Porzingis comes back healthy, and the next, you know, two series in the west are just seven games. Seven games. Seven games. Seven games.

[00:26:38]

Yeah.

[00:26:39]

Injuries again. You're better.

[00:26:41]

I'm not rooting for injuries. Absolutely want that in the record. I want every team at full health.

[00:26:45]

Okay. Okay.

[00:26:46]

That's big of you.

[00:26:47]

Speaking of full health, the Bucks are out. Giannis never played in this series. It feels like he was pretty close. If they got into a game seven, he might have. Dame came back and the Pacers, I mean, the Pacers played with their food on, what was it, Tuesday night?

[00:27:03]

Yeah. Yeah.

[00:27:03]

They thought they could just roll out and win that game without Damon Giannis there. And credit to the Bucks for showing fight there, but the Pacers are fun. They run up and down.

[00:27:13]

Halliburton is very fun.

[00:27:14]

Yeah.

[00:27:15]

They're like, they're just a fun young team. We have a lot of that going on in the playoffs right now. And now the Bucks, I feel like, have, like a lot of questions. Lot of questions, because the Bucks Giannis is still one of the best players in the NBA. But there's a, no, I don't want to, you know what?

[00:27:32]

I'm not going to get into it.

[00:27:32]

Because the packers fans are Bucks fans and I don't, some people could say.

[00:27:38]

Why don't you text it to me?

[00:27:39]

And then I'll say, okay.

[00:27:40]

In the meantime, I'll just say that they do have a lot of weird decisions they have to make because they don't know what they're going to do with this new iteration of the Bucks team where they got dame and they sacrifice defense, but then Dane gets injured, Giannis gets injured. So you don't really know what you have. You don't know what pieces you truly need next year because there wasn't a big enough sample of work against the best teams to say where your team's really deficient. So who knows what they're going to do? They're going to throw a dart at the wall and figure out whether they want to run it back, whether they want to make a big change. I don't know. I don't know what the Bucks are going to do. But credit to the Pacers. Very fun team to watch. But, hey, Hank's not worried. Pat Bev built ass pet Bev ball. The face, emotional pep, having a catch.

[00:28:23]

I thought that was just like a cool moment, that even after they lost, he was like, you know, sharing a.

[00:28:28]

Catch with one of the fans that's a fan for life now.

[00:28:30]

Yeah.

[00:28:31]

They're like, pat Bev just giving him.

[00:28:32]

A souvenir for me.

[00:28:33]

A chess pass.

[00:28:34]

Yeah, I did. Hal Burton said, the reporter asked, like, hey, I saw you and Pat Bev exchange words at the end, like, anything you want to share? Albert just goes, just came up to me, said, good series, some people.

[00:28:45]

So PFC has something he wants to say.

[00:28:47]

The other thing I wanted to say earlier about the Bucks is that some people could argue that the Bucks championship was a fluke because it was off the bubble and all the teams that had to play a long season deep into the next year got bounced and the Nets got injured and beating Chris Paul isn't that impressive, some people would say.

[00:29:03]

I disagree with those people. Yeah, I disagree. And that was, that was a real championship. But they're now the Bucks do have some questions because, yeah, it felt like after they won their first titles, like, oh, this is going to be the bucks on top of the east for a while now, and they've had, again, injuries this year were very, very important because anytime you lose Giannis, and it was last year, too, because Giannis got hurt in that. But two back to back first round exits for this Bucks team has a lot of people being like, what? What's going on here?

[00:29:32]

Is Doc the answer?

[00:29:34]

I don't know.

[00:29:34]

See, that's another thing we don't know. Probably not. I'm going to say probably he's not the answer.

[00:29:39]

With Giannis, you always are going to be contending, but you, you went all in with this dame Lillard thing. Again, the injuries. I'm not diminishing the injuries, but if you're a Bucks fan, you're definitely. They have some big questions that are coming.

[00:29:53]

So that's what I was saying earlier. If you're the Bucks GM. Do you go based off the sample size you had of Dame and Giannis playing together this year and what that looked like and then use that to figure out what you're going to do in the off season, the moves you have to make? Well, I mean, because like, we didn't get to see them in the playoffs together, so you don't know how they stack up against the best teams when you guys are both competing your hardest.

[00:30:15]

Right.

[00:30:15]

Like it's a, you kind of have to take a guess.

[00:30:18]

And they also were, they had a disappointing, weird year and they still were playing for the two seed in the last week of the season. So it's like put into perspective, they're still going to be okay with Giannis.

[00:30:30]

Yep.

[00:30:30]

Because he's that fucking good early.

[00:30:32]

Who's back the week is Reggie Miller.

[00:30:34]

Yeah.

[00:30:35]

Well, credit to the Pacers, by the way, did that. I think that's our first series win in like ten years. I think that's, I think that's Rick Carlisle's first win since he won it all with the Mavs.

[00:30:48]

Wow.

[00:30:48]

Sure. Look that up.

[00:30:50]

Yeah, it's been a minute.

[00:30:51]

Yeah.

[00:30:51]

But yeah, there's going to be a lot of Reggie Miller talk. Hanks, right?

[00:30:54]

Yeah.

[00:30:54]

Pacers, knicks, pacers, knicks. You think Doug Gottlieb was ever like, Reggie Miller needs to fix a mechanical flaw in his shooting.

[00:31:01]

He's never going to be good. I actually thought Doug Gottlieb got unfair hate for that.

[00:31:07]

Well, it's, he's the easiest target, correct?

[00:31:09]

Yeah, but yeah. Anyone else than Doug Gottlieb. So if you missed it, Doug Gottlieb basically was like, Caitlin Clark shot is bad mechanics. Do you think they'll try to work on that? Doug Gottlieb is going to get shit on no matter what. Every single professional athlete works on their mechanics constantly. Tom Brady, like constantly is working. What's working on his mechanics. Tiger woods has changed his swing three times. Ask that question isn't crazy. There might be a better way, a more efficient way to shoot, especially going right for Caitlin Clark. That's, it's not saying she's bad. Incredible.

[00:31:45]

I think the tigers changing a swing is what fucked him up.

[00:31:48]

I think the implication three times was.

[00:31:50]

That it was broken.

[00:31:51]

Yeah, it's not broken broken at all. He should have phrased a better. Yeah, there could maybe be a way for her to become even better of a shooter.

[00:31:58]

Yeah, that would be a great win.

[00:32:00]

But I like every, every single professional athlete works on stuff like that constantly. So I don't know.

[00:32:06]

You're right about Rick Carlo, by the way.

[00:32:07]

His first series win since then. 2011 over the LeBron's first year.

[00:32:12]

Wow.

[00:32:13]

Wait, no, I'm seeing right now he won some playoff series in 2021.

[00:32:19]

Check that.

[00:32:20]

Double check. Oh, no, maybe not.

[00:32:21]

I see. Oh, yeah.

[00:32:22]

Win loss.

[00:32:22]

Yeah.

[00:32:22]

Yeah, you're right.

[00:32:23]

I see. Yeah.

[00:32:24]

Six first round exits.

[00:32:26]

Yeah.

[00:32:27]

Six missed playoffs.

[00:32:28]

Yes.

[00:32:28]

Then, wow. That's a long time for a really good coach.

[00:32:31]

So. Yeah.

[00:32:32]

Credit to the pacers, they're fun, they're young, they're fun. They run. I love watching teams run. You miss shots on them, you're fucked. Also, Clippers, Mavericks, Luca, incredible game. Kyrie.

[00:32:46]

Great game.

[00:32:46]

Incredible game.

[00:32:47]

I think we called those.

[00:32:49]

Yeah.

[00:32:50]

Credit to us for saying that Kyrie Irving and Luca Doncic were going to play well.

[00:32:53]

We know ball. We know we know ball. And then the, the Clippers are stuck again. Just being like we had the, we had the opposite James Harden. That one.

[00:33:03]

We.

[00:33:03]

I thought maybe the extra rest, but.

[00:33:05]

Nope, nope.

[00:33:05]

Should have known better.

[00:33:06]

It was classic James. Classic James Harden.

[00:33:09]

I think Nick Wright had a stat that he has the most games in playoff history with ten shots and under ten points. And it's like. Yeah, it's like 30 of them.

[00:33:18]

This is going to be a legacy game. I'm calling it right now. This is a James Harden legacy game. And by that I mean I hope he scores less than ten points.

[00:33:25]

He's not, he had the. I think the CL, I think the Mavs are going to win this series. Lucas, so good.

[00:33:29]

If James Harden goes out there and drops eight points, that cements him as the greatest playoff. Not care of all time.

[00:33:36]

Yeah, that, that one clip of Kyrie just like cruising through everyone so easy. Like he, it was so crazy to watch because Kyrie is such a good ball handler. His body was somehow out of control, but his ball handling stayed in control the whole time.

[00:33:52]

Yeah, he knows. He knows exactly what he operates at. Like, he processes things at such a fast speed.

[00:33:57]

Right.

[00:33:58]

It's insane. Like, you can't, even if you watch him operate in real time, you have no idea how he gets the ball in the basket.

[00:34:04]

It was so chaotic and then.

[00:34:05]

Yeah.

[00:34:05]

And it was, it still worked and. Yeah, I love watching Luca. I mean, he's, he, he does lead the league in bitching at everyone.

[00:34:12]

Yeah.

[00:34:13]

But that's just part of his game. I think he's one of those guys that needs to just yell at fans, yell at refs to get going.

[00:34:18]

Yeah, he'll yell at the ref after he makes a wide open three pointer.

[00:34:20]

He'll yell at anyone.

[00:34:21]

I try to figure out what he's screaming about. I can't figure it out.

[00:34:24]

Yeah. But he just.

[00:34:25]

He likes to have it be him against the world.

[00:34:27]

Yeah.

[00:34:27]

So that game six, and also the Mavericks, or, sorry, the. The Magic Cavaliers. Game six is Friday night, so we'll see if we can finish those series. It does kind of suck that we're getting to Kentucky Derby Saturday. We're only going to have one NBA game.

[00:34:43]

Yeah, that's tough prayers for us.

[00:34:45]

Yeah.

[00:34:46]

We have the Nuggets and the Wolves playing seven. Should we talk about it?

[00:34:54]

Yeah, have a conversation.

[00:34:55]

Bruins.

[00:34:56]

So the Bruins were up three one in the series, huh?

[00:34:58]

Mm hmm.

[00:34:59]

Then Austin Matthews not playing. What happened last year in the first round? What were you guys up?

[00:35:05]

The Bruins were up three to one, I believe.

[00:35:08]

Yeah.

[00:35:08]

Fights tweeted out the stat that they're. Owen. Six in their last closeout. Six closeout games.

[00:35:13]

But the Leafs are two and nine in their last eleven game. Sevens in the road.

[00:35:17]

Right, but that means they've won twice.

[00:35:20]

Yeah, correct.

[00:35:21]

Oh, and six.

[00:35:22]

Oh and six in two years is almost impossible.

[00:35:24]

That's pretty crazy hard. That's really crazy.

[00:35:27]

Shocking.

[00:35:28]

And with all.

[00:35:29]

I think the birds are gonna win this game.

[00:35:31]

Me, too.

[00:35:31]

Because I think. Are you mean the house?

[00:35:33]

I'll be in the building.

[00:35:34]

Oh, wow. There you go. That's all you need.

[00:35:38]

Hank, did you want the Bruins to win this game?

[00:35:40]

Good question. Good question, Matt.

[00:35:42]

Yes.

[00:35:42]

I wanted to prove, because I heard a rumor. I heard a rumor that before the game started, Hank said, no, wait. Oh, hey, I'm being a journalist.

[00:35:51]

Ain't no phone with the rabbit. Got the gun, buddy.

[00:35:53]

Oh, shit. But crap. Max is up your ass.

[00:35:57]

Yeah, buddy, pal, got time.

[00:35:58]

All those teams are eliminated.

[00:36:00]

Six are. Phillies are best team in that major leagues right now.

[00:36:04]

So. That a fact.

[00:36:06]

They're the rumor.

[00:36:06]

20, 111.

[00:36:07]

Hold on, hold on.

[00:36:09]

Pft.

[00:36:09]

I don't. I just want to. Because this is.

[00:36:12]

This is Hank's dream scenario.

[00:36:13]

He's got, you know, Braves are in first place.

[00:36:16]

Yeah.

[00:36:17]

Just so, just so we're clear, what.

[00:36:19]

Division of the different.

[00:36:20]

Also in the different. Yeah.

[00:36:23]

They're 20 and not. We have more wins and more losses. So it's different baseball.

[00:36:30]

So, Hank, there was a rumor that before this game started, started by Max.

[00:36:35]

So it's like how.

[00:36:36]

Wait, wait, wait.

[00:36:37]

Can I.

[00:36:37]

Can I fish?

[00:36:38]

Before this game started, Hank said, would it be wrong if I wanted the Bruins to lose this game so I could go to game seven? Fact or fiction that.

[00:36:50]

Hank, can I.

[00:36:51]

Can I defend you for a sec, please? Sounds like he was just asking a question.

[00:36:55]

That's all I was doing.

[00:36:56]

Yeah.

[00:36:57]

And he didn't say he was rude. He said, would it be wrong? We were talking to a group of.

[00:37:02]

Fans, and there was an intern, I forget who was around, and I was trying to test, like, what his sports fandom was like.

[00:37:09]

Right.

[00:37:10]

It was kind of like a good test quiz. Like, pop quiz.

[00:37:13]

There's an intern around.

[00:37:14]

So could you answer that question?

[00:37:16]

Of course.

[00:37:17]

It's bad. Yeah, it's horrible.

[00:37:19]

You would never.

[00:37:20]

So right now you're upset that you're gonna go to game seven on Saturday?

[00:37:25]

Yeah, I was.

[00:37:26]

I was rooting for the Bruins when that game. I was upset when they lost. I was upset when the leaf scored. And I would.

[00:37:31]

I. I wish we were live for when the leaf scored that second goal. He was like. No.

[00:37:43]

Initial reaction was like, yes, no.

[00:37:46]

What would you say?

[00:37:47]

Oh, no, no. I was the only one watching the game. Shut up, Max. You're watching, like, everyone else is focused on the. The next Sixers. I was actually watching the Bruins locked in.

[00:37:58]

Yeah, you were locked in to see if you go to game seven.

[00:38:01]

That has nothing to do with.

[00:38:02]

That's just a coincidence.

[00:38:04]

It's a coincidence, Max.

[00:38:06]

Like, I will be in Boston is a Saturday night. We do have a great partner at game time that will be. Helped me get in the game. I'm going to promote the company.

[00:38:13]

Hank.

[00:38:13]

It's your company, man. Work trick always does the company first.

[00:38:19]

When did you. When did you first inquire about getting tickets to games?

[00:38:22]

After the game.

[00:38:23]

Really?

[00:38:24]

Confirmed.

[00:38:25]

I'll show you the text after the .1 2nd. That was put back on the clock after.

[00:38:29]

Well, after.

[00:38:29]

Okay.

[00:38:30]

Hmm.

[00:38:31]

Interesting. Okay. Only I had one other thing. Go look up your tax.

[00:38:37]

09:44 p.m..

[00:38:38]

Okay, the game ended at 09:47 p.m. I'm looking at it right now.

[00:38:45]

Where?

[00:38:45]

Let me see.

[00:38:47]

My computer froze.

[00:38:48]

Hold on.

[00:38:48]

I can find it.

[00:38:49]

Okay.

[00:38:50]

Max, can you look it up? Yeah, let me pull this up real quick.

[00:38:56]

Not.

[00:38:57]

09:47 p.m.. Yeah.

[00:38:58]

947.

[00:38:59]

Mmm. So you might have inquired a little early there.

[00:39:03]

Nope.

[00:39:04]

There.

[00:39:05]

Joseph wool was awesome. Their goalie was so good.

[00:39:09]

Yeah, we took him, like, a period to even get a shot on goal, but he played well.

[00:39:14]

Let's see, let's see, let's see. Hank, game seven final. The Leafs posted a final at 945, so he might be right.

[00:39:28]

Of course I'm right.

[00:39:29]

Wow. Hank, he's. I think he's. I think he's not guilty.

[00:39:34]

Thank you.

[00:39:35]

Yeah.

[00:39:36]

So that was the first thing on his mind.

[00:39:38]

Yes, that's true. Good point. Good point. He couldn't have done it faster.

[00:39:41]

But wait, Hank.

[00:39:42]

What time did you say?

[00:39:43]

Hank?

[00:39:44]

You're absolutely right, Max. You could have done it fast.

[00:39:46]

Hanks at 944.

[00:39:48]

He said nine.

[00:39:48]

Oh, you. I thought you said 947.

[00:39:50]

What?

[00:39:50]

No, I said 947. Hank said no before.

[00:39:53]

What time you send the text?

[00:39:54]

944 and that.

[00:39:56]

Oh, so, yeah, the game was over. Make a fucking whole ass graphic and don't. You scored a goal.

[00:40:05]

That's when the Bruins were old.

[00:40:06]

945.

[00:40:07]

No, they scored.

[00:40:08]

Yeah, they scored a goal at 945.

[00:40:10]

You're gonna make me do more work.

[00:40:11]

No, I'm on it right now. Boston Bruins, 944.

[00:40:15]

No, that's your pft's line.

[00:40:17]

I swear to God.

[00:40:18]

Look at big.

[00:40:18]

Well, there was .1 second left.

[00:40:20]

Yeah.

[00:40:20]

Yeah, the game wasn't over.

[00:40:23]

Big out right there.

[00:40:23]

All right.

[00:40:24]

Yep.

[00:40:24]

944.

[00:40:25]

944. Bruins tweeted out.

[00:40:28]

Hey, now, liar. For that nose.

[00:40:30]

Liar.

[00:40:30]

I asked you specifically about the .1 second, and you lied.

[00:40:34]

I waited.

[00:40:34]

Tilt.

[00:40:35]

Whatever. Okay, so Hanks very excited. The burns are going to game seven. I'm excited to have a chance.

[00:40:42]

I'm excited to have it. Have a chance to advance. Bruins got to play well. Reverse the curse.

[00:40:48]

Oh, Max, I had one last thing. Do you have anything to say to Jerry O'Connell? He was all up your ass.

[00:40:52]

Yeah.

[00:40:52]

No, he was a master class that he put on me tonight. And I. I don't. I didn't really know how to respond to it. I didn't know he was a Knicks fan number one. But he's been on my ass and congrats to him. Congratulations.

[00:41:06]

I was gonna say. I was gonna.

[00:41:08]

Just me and you friction boy just.

[00:41:11]

Me and you friction boy.

[00:41:15]

Friction boy.

[00:41:16]

Friction boy wait, we got.

[00:41:18]

This one's my favorite.

[00:41:27]

He also. He also. Jerry is so committed to this show. He even used Max's little league pronunciation of his name in this one.

[00:41:46]

Using it as one word is also.

[00:41:48]

Just taking the game to a new level.

[00:41:50]

Are also tweeting it.

[00:41:52]

Tweeting, are you small?

[00:41:53]

That.

[00:41:53]

On his talk show today that he was talking shit on good.

[00:41:56]

That's all.

[00:41:57]

I never saw the clip of it.

[00:41:58]

I'm imagining his fans that go to see Jerry O'Connell's talk show, he's taking like, 30. 30 seconds to just rub one in Max Delente's face, and they're just so confused. But Jerry's loving every second.

[00:42:10]

If someone could find that clip.

[00:42:13]

Hank, that's. That's what you have to look forward to. You versus Jerry.

[00:42:17]

Oh, my God.

[00:42:18]

Yeah.

[00:42:19]

Jerry be all up your ass.

[00:42:20]

They got to get past the pacers.

[00:42:21]

We might have to get him out here.

[00:42:23]

Yeah.

[00:42:23]

You got to get past whoever you're playing.

[00:42:26]

The Kajik. I think if you combine the teams, you probably win. Yeah. This cocky Hanko, just building them up, build them up, build them up.

[00:42:35]

All right.

[00:42:35]

He's not picking up. He's probably just. He's probably running around the streets. All right, we'll have him on, though. If you play the Celtics, play knicks. Last thing I had, Deion Sanders. Should probably stay off Twitter.

[00:42:49]

Yeah.

[00:42:51]

The thing about Deon is when. When Colorado is winning and everything's working, he's super entertaining. He gets people talking about college football.

[00:43:00]

Yeah.

[00:43:00]

Which is good.

[00:43:01]

Yeah.

[00:43:01]

New rivalries forming.

[00:43:02]

That's good.

[00:43:04]

He also has been going after former players on Twitter, which is not a good look for a coach. And then what I. What I didn't like is he's now, like, he'll backtrack his way into, like, using a quote from the bible that then also justifies why he's hating on this, like, 19 year old kid.

[00:43:23]

Right. And we want.

[00:43:24]

He.

[00:43:25]

Dion wants to be treated like a player sometimes.

[00:43:28]

Right. Like, the man player mentality.

[00:43:29]

Yeah, he's got the player mentality. But you also have to be a good person to the players that you come across that you might not even like. He inherited that guy as guys that's on the team. And then to be, like, cyberbullying him over his stats and stuff like that. Yeah, Deon should probably stop doing that.

[00:43:47]

Yeah.

[00:43:47]

I mean, we are Deon fans. People know that we're. We're biased in that respect. So when we say that he's going too far and should stay off Twitter, you know that he's gone probably, well, too far. Way too far to stay off Twitter.

[00:43:59]

Way too far.

[00:44:00]

Just one of those things. Like, what? What are you winning right here, Deon? You're not. There's nothing to gain from doing that. I understand. Defending your son.

[00:44:08]

Yeah.

[00:44:09]

But other than that, let your sons do it.

[00:44:12]

Like.

[00:44:12]

Like, I think Shadur Sanders. Like. Well, actually, no, that was a little weird, too, because it was. He was talking. Because he's the coach's son, and he's talking shit to a former player.

[00:44:21]

Yeah.

[00:44:21]

Like, I don't. You must have been mid because we didn't even. I don't remember you and, like, may, that seems like it's stupid to making.

[00:44:27]

It clear that the two of them had talked about this.

[00:44:29]

Right? Right.

[00:44:30]

Yeah.

[00:44:31]

So.

[00:44:31]

Yeah.

[00:44:32]

And that kid was. He was one of the guys that tried to stick around.

[00:44:34]

Yeah.

[00:44:35]

And try to, like, adapt to Deon's system, the new regime. He tried to make it work. And apparently Deon just won't give him the time of day, which that's also reality in college football.

[00:44:44]

Correct.

[00:44:44]

If the coach doesn't think that you're good enough to play, you're going to be treated like less than nothing. I might as well be invisible. But then to have that same coach dunk on you online later, that seems like it should be beneath any college coach.

[00:44:56]

Yeah.

[00:44:58]

He should stay off Twitter and maybe learn the lesson that it's not nothing. You don't win on this, you lose. He lost. He lost in that exchange.

[00:45:08]

All right.

[00:45:09]

Anything else? Oh, Justin Fields might return kicks.

[00:45:12]

Yeah.

[00:45:12]

Bill Pulley in somewhere is just smiling.

[00:45:15]

Told you.

[00:45:15]

I hope he, Lamar, he would be electric, but I hope he doesn't because why would he ever do that?

[00:45:21]

I think.

[00:45:22]

I don't know. He's not just get the ball in his hands.

[00:45:24]

There's just.

[00:45:24]

I like watching him run.

[00:45:26]

He's not. I still think he's going to play at some point this season for the Steelers. But even if he doesn't play, being a backup and being like, I'm not returning kicks, because what will happen is Justin Fields will return a touchdown and then he will be box into returning kicks.

[00:45:42]

See the Corderell Patterson?

[00:45:43]

Yeah.

[00:45:43]

So the one thing I'm looking forward to, a lot about this, actually, there's a lot of things I'm looking forward to about this NFL season. I wish it started tomorrow.

[00:45:50]

I agree.

[00:45:51]

I'm starting to get the itch.

[00:45:52]

I can't wait for it. I haven't been this excited in years for an NFL season.

[00:45:56]

I'm starting to get really close to sending out my first I can't wait for college football tweet.

[00:46:00]

Yeah.

[00:46:00]

It has to come organic. It has to be when I'm just daydreaming and just thinking, like, damn, I can't wait for this.

[00:46:05]

So one thing I'm really excited about, though, is with the new kickoff rules, watching teams absolutely screw it up.

[00:46:13]

Oh, yeah.

[00:46:13]

And like, everyone's going to think that they've got a new system, a new way that they can take advantage of the new kickoff and half of them are going to fill. Hilariously.

[00:46:21]

Yes.

[00:46:21]

And that's what I'm looking forward to watching.

[00:46:22]

Yes.

[00:46:23]

It's going to be great.

[00:46:24]

Some coach thinking that it's cooking.

[00:46:25]

It's going to be great.

[00:46:26]

Yeah.

[00:46:27]

Okay.

[00:46:27]

Happy.

[00:46:28]

We got cocky. Hank back. Happy Max is dealing with this somewhat well.

[00:46:35]

I'm happy Max isn't sad. Are you sad?

[00:46:38]

I mean, I'm definitely.

[00:46:39]

I'm definitely sad, but we've seen sad Max before, and this is. This pales in comparison.

[00:46:43]

It's different.

[00:46:43]

It's different.

[00:46:44]

It's different and I'm different. I'm happy Max earlier was like, would.

[00:46:47]

It be bad if I wanted the Sixers to lose this so this would be over?

[00:46:50]

Did you say that? Truth.

[00:46:52]

That is not true.

[00:46:53]

What time did you say that?

[00:46:54]

I think you did say at one point, I just want to get. I just want to be out of here. That was talking about your, like, for the physical space you're occupying.

[00:47:02]

Yeah, probably. I hate that game. I will. I will never have a win in that.

[00:47:07]

In that you want to be here anymore.

[00:47:09]

You have had wins there.

[00:47:10]

Name one.

[00:47:12]

That's a good question.

[00:47:13]

Over to Paul.

[00:47:15]

That was the worst.

[00:47:17]

That was the worst seven point favorite win.

[00:47:21]

That was the worst win in the history of wins.

[00:47:23]

Oh, you beat the Cowboys in there when Dax.

[00:47:24]

That's the only game. I had one game in my mind. That's the only one.

[00:47:28]

What about when you guys took a lead in the NLCs that lost? Yeah, but you had wins. Not in that room to get there.

[00:47:38]

Not in that room.

[00:47:40]

Yeah, actually, that room's been really bad because I was even thinking, like, the.

[00:47:43]

It's the Cowboys games.

[00:47:45]

The only series, the Braves was in the old office.

[00:47:48]

Yes.

[00:47:48]

Big dom game.

[00:47:49]

They lost that game by a lot.

[00:47:51]

Oh, I forgot.

[00:47:52]

A lot.

[00:47:53]

All right, let's not play.

[00:47:54]

Remember that was the Niners. Ebo would just run. You just play this game.

[00:47:59]

I thought they won the big Dom game.

[00:48:01]

Really good interviews coming up.

[00:48:02]

Yeah.

Show time.

[00:50:21]

Summer starts with the fall guy.

[00:50:23]

What are you doing later? Let's make a spicy margarita. Make some bad decisions. Yes.

[00:50:28]

Audiences are falling in love with the most entertaining film of the year, fall Guy.

[00:50:32]

Fall guy.

[00:50:32]

Fall guy.

[00:50:33]

That's what the poster said.

[00:50:34]

See, Ryan Gosling and Emily blunt in.

[00:50:36]

The movie critics say exist to make you happy.

[00:50:39]

Trying to make out?

[00:50:39]

Nope.

[00:50:40]

Cause I don't either.

[00:50:40]

It's not what I'm into right now.

[00:50:42]

What are you into?

[00:50:42]

Talking.

[00:50:43]

You know, the tall guy, only in.

[00:50:46]

Theaters now rated pg 13.

[00:50:47]

May be inappropriate for children under 13.

[00:50:49]

Okay, here he is, Randy Moss. Okay. We now welcome on a very, very, very special guest. He's one of our favorite guests. Long time. I mean, we say this every year, Randy Moss, but the. I think you were probably the first three months apart. My take history. You had, you, you had no obligation to give two idiots a shot and hop on this podcast as it was kind of a bit at first, and then we became friends. But I can't tell you every single time we get to Kentucky Derby week, the amount of people who tweet me being like, randy Moss. Right. Randy Moss. Randy Moss. So it's great to see you. It is Kentucky Derby week. I have a question that's not horse related. First Super bowl week, did Boomer and Geo try to steal our bit? Did they steal our bit?

[00:51:44]

Boomer and Geo had no damn idea who they were getting, right. I was there to help, you know, promote horse racing. They asked me to come and all that. You know, they thought they were getting Randy monster football player and who wouldn't want Randy monster football player on Super bowl week as opposed to, you know, the OG, white, bald Randy Moss?

[00:52:02]

Yep.

[00:52:03]

But, yeah, it was, it went viral. It went viral that week when they realized at the last minute who they were going to be getting. So that was pretty, pretty funny.

[00:52:14]

That wasn't a bit then. I wasn't sure. I wasn't sure if they were just going to do the. Yeah, because I think the first time we had you on, we might have asked you only, like, Minnesota Vikings and New England Patriots related questions, but, yeah.

[00:52:25]

It'S good to have you back on.

[00:52:27]

The very first time I was on, we played racehorse or porn star.

[00:52:31]

Yeah. Yeah.

[00:52:32]

You were really good at that game.

[00:52:33]

You're really good at that game.

[00:52:34]

Yeah.

[00:52:34]

You know, you knew your porn star.

[00:52:36]

Yeah, you're porn.

[00:52:37]

And after that, my wife told me you'll will never go on. Pardon my tick again. And now she's a big fan. So you want her over.

[00:52:48]

It's a beautiful story. It's a beautiful story. All right, so it is Kentucky Derby week. Let's start with the guy that looms over everything, every single Kentucky Derby week. It is Bob Bafford who will not be involved. His horse moot, who probably would be, you could tell me, would be very much in the running to win this race, will not be there. What's the latest? I read a story last night that essentially was like, Bob Baffer just isn't sorry enough. And so you tell us from your angle what, what's happening and what, what will happen going forward? And is there that feeling that not an asterisk, but there's a horse out there, a three year old that could compete in this race that won't be in this race?

[00:53:31]

So Bob Bafford had a couple of horses that would have been in this year's Kentucky Derby. In a normal year, Booth won the Arkansas Derby. He probably would be the third betting choice, the third favorite if he were here. And he also had another horse who had finished second imagination in the Santa Nita Derby. So he would have had two horses, kind of. Kind of front and center. I mean, we know, we all know that because of the Medina spirit disqualification in 2021, Churchill Downs ruled him off for two years. Right? That was the deal. Two years. If he had no more medication violations after two years, then he'd be welcome back to Churchill down. And then last July, suddenly, kind of out of the blue, Churchill down said that they were extending the ban from two years to three years as a justification. They cited a comment that Baffert made on Fox in an interview saying that they had to do anything over again, he would do everything exactly the same. And that apparently angered Churchill Downs. In my opinion, the reason why Churchill Downs extended the band, they didn't tell me this. I'm reading the tea leaves here.

[00:54:40]

This is the 150th anniversary of the Kentucky Derby. It means a lot to Churchill down this 150th anniversary. I think they realized that if Baffert had come back to the Kentucky Derby this year, he would be one of the main stories. Bob Baffert being back would almost overshadow the storyline of the 150th Kentucky Derby. And I didn't think that, after all was said and done, they wanted that to happen. And I don't think they wanted the possibility of Bill Carstantian, the head of truthful down, presenting the trophy for the 150th Derby to Bob Bafford in the.

[00:55:22]

Winner circle, okay, that makes sense in.

[00:55:25]

Theory, but if you're looking at it from a perspective of what's going to get the most buzz going, what's going to get the most people to tune in, what's going to be the biggest story, you could argue that Bob Baffert coming back, the bad boy returns. It's like a wrestling storyline. Bad boy returns 150th anniversary. If he does happen to win, that feels like that is a win for horse racing overall. If that happens.

[00:55:46]

I think you're absolutely right. And what wins for horse racing, in my opinion, is the best horses being in the Kentucky Derby. And this year, all the best three year olds are not in the Kentucky Derby. So that's where I come down on it.

[00:55:57]

Also, I also love the idea that this dynamic between Bob Baffert and Churchill Downs is just exactly that. That detention scene in breakfast club.

[00:56:05]

Yeah.

[00:56:05]

Where he just says one thing like another detention.

[00:56:07]

Yeah.

[00:56:08]

All he has to say sorry and really mean it, and he'd be back.

[00:56:12]

Yeah. And although this thing was in court up until, like, a week ago, because the owner of Mooth challenged the extra year suspension, not Bafford. It was Amherst who owned Medina Spirit, and he also owned move Amber Zidane pointed out that he played. He took Churchill Downs at their word that if Bafford had no more medication violations, that they would be. They would welcome him back after two years. And he said, I went out and bought $10 million worth of horses on the assumption that Baffert would get to train my horses if they made it to the Kentucky Derby. And then I got the rug pulled out from underneath him.

[00:56:50]

Yeah.

[00:56:51]

But he filed that lawsuit very, very late in the game, just four weeks before the derby, right after the horse won the Arkansas Derby. So, yeah, I think the timing is what did it, man, more than anything.

[00:57:03]

Yeah.

[00:57:03]

So it does lead us to an interesting Kentucky derby. Like you said, not all the best three year olds are in this race, and I was looking at it last night, fierceness, who is going to be the favorite on Kentucky. He's favorite right now. Micropoli. Shout out Micropoli, our guy who helped us get Rick Pitino on the podcast. But fierceness looks like he's a class above everyone else in terms of speed. Like, the speed ratings for a lot of these horses are just not what it doesn't look like, what a Kentucky Derby should normally look like. Is this a situation where fierceness, like, you have to include them in your bets, and this horse is just better than everyone else?

[00:57:43]

If all the horses run their best races, fierceness wins the race hands down.

[00:57:49]

Yep.

[00:57:50]

Talent wise, fierceness is probably three or four lengths better than any other horse in the field. But right now, you mentioned that pierceness is the favorite. I hope this music's not too loud behind me. I'm in the new paddock, by the way.

[00:58:02]

No, you're good. It looks good, right?

[00:58:04]

See?

[00:58:04]

Yeah. I always want to give you guys up close and personal. I remember when I got under the stall webbing at the freakness, and. Yes, he made.

[00:58:11]

Yes.

[00:58:12]

Fantastic.

[00:58:13]

So. So that's why I'm in the paddock. Anyway, back to fierceness. The only. The drawback about fierceness, who is right now an eight to five favorite, is that he's had a couple of races on his form where he was terrible. The holy bull, the race before the Florida Derby, he had a little bit of an excuse, but he still underperformed and, you know, there's that inconsistency in his form that is making a lot of people look elsewhere, especially at the eight to five price.

[00:58:46]

And he's running 17th in the 17th position, right?

[00:58:50]

Yeah, but that's good.

[00:58:51]

Okay.

[00:58:52]

He's, he's a speed horse and he doesn't want to be down inside where his hand is forced. So if they could have picked their post position, they would have picked, you know, 16, 1718 somewhere out there. So that worked perfectly for them. He's had a scratch. He was 17, now he's 16. There may even be more, another scratch or two, who knows? But they wanted to be outside, so that's a good thing. But if you it on paper, and I know you know, the Kentucky Derby, you don't often get to say this. On paper, it looks essentially like a two horse race between fierceness and a horse called Sierra Leone. And right now Sierra Leone is six to one.

[00:59:32]

Right.

[00:59:32]

So I think fierceness is the most likely winner. But the discrepancy of eight to five and six to one is very, very tempting given fierceness is inconsistencies in the past.

[00:59:45]

All right, so you mentioned. So he's going to be running out of 16, but he will be wearing the 17 silks, right?

[00:59:52]

Right. Correct. 17 saddle down. Well, wait, wait, wait, wait. Yes, 17 saddle down number. Correct.

[00:59:58]

Okay, so we are superstitious guys and you probably know this as well. 17, the number 17 is never won the Kentucky derby. 44 years. Never won the Kentucky Derby. How does that not play into this, Randy?

[01:00:10]

It plays nothing whatsoever to do with it.

[01:00:12]

Come on. It has to be something. It has to be something.

[01:00:16]

It's, it's just coincidence. 18 is one.

[01:00:19]

Yeah.

[01:00:20]

Right. 18 would be worse than 17.

[01:00:22]

Right.

[01:00:22]

19 is 120 is one.

[01:00:25]

Exactly.

[01:00:25]

Rich strike. Wore what, 21 or 22 that he wore? 21.

[01:00:29]

You're proving why 17 is unlucky.

[01:00:30]

Yeah, you're, you're making our point for us. 44 is not a. 44 years. Not a coincidence.

[01:00:36]

You guys are going to get me on jinxes.

[01:00:38]

Yes. Although, I mean, the fact that he's.

[01:00:41]

The fact that he's wearing 17, but he's, he's racing out of 16th position. That's not going to be a win for 17, though. Even if he does win. Right. Officially in the record books, we're still going to say the 17th position has not won.

[01:00:54]

Okay, well, how about looking at it this way? All right. 15 is 116 is 118. 19 2017 is badly overdue.

[01:01:02]

Oh, I don't know about that.

[01:01:04]

Trying to time the market.

[01:01:05]

Yeah, I don't know about advisors.

[01:01:06]

Say not to do that.

[01:01:07]

I think that's a bad idea. I think it's a bad idea.

[01:01:10]

All right, so.

[01:01:10]

So Sierra Leone, the. The second favorite. Talk to me about this horse, because this horse, I watched a couple races that this horse has run, and the mo for this horse is going to slow start, finish strong, which you don't. Isn't always easy when it comes to Kentucky Derby, with the amount of horses in the field and the traffic that could be there. So are you concerned at all about the fact that traffic is going to be a problem? I think it might be a little muddy. You never want the mud in your eyes. Are you worried at all about Sierra Leone coming from the back in a huge, huge field?

[01:01:47]

No.

[01:01:48]

Okay.

[01:01:49]

No, I'm not worried at all, and here's why. First of all, if you go back historically and you look at the Kentucky Derbys, I go back and look at the last 30 years. If you have access to the charts and things like that, and this whole mantra that has developed over the years, the 20 horse field in the Kentucky Derby, making it a rough race, making it a crap shoot. The best horse doesn't win. They get stopped in traffic. It's all b's. Probably 70% to 80% of the horses that win the Kentucky Derby. If you go back and look at the charts and you ask yourself in hindsight, was this horse the best horse in the race? Right. Looking back in hindsight, it's usually, yes, despite the traffic, despite the running style. Part two to that, there should be a fairly contentious early pace. It almost always is in the Kentucky Derby. And when that happens, it spreads out the horses, right. They're going kind of fast early, so it creates more gaps all the way back to the last place horse. There's more of a gap between first and last when the pace is kind of fast, and that means a little less traffic for the come from behinders back there to have to navigate through to get to the front.

[01:03:02]

And you've also got, you know, 20 of the best jockeys in the United States and some of the best jockeys in the world. So typically, they can. They can find a way to do it. The cream usually rises to the top.

[01:03:16]

So, in terms of the jockeys, what's one jockey that you're looking at this week that will get the most out of their horse and provide good value? Maybe on. On whatever the betting line closes at, there might be a long shot, but they've got a great jockey that might work their way into the three never.

[01:03:31]

Ever, ever handicap the jockeys in the Kentucky Derby because they're all good. They're all good. The difference between Joel Rosario and Ired Ortiz and Tyler Gaplion and Jose Ortiz and Flavian Pratt is so minute. Right. There may be a very slight difference between one and the other if they get into a particular situation in a race, but you never can't predict if that situation is going to transpire or not. They're so evenly matched that you just have to go into it with the assumption that you're going to get a good ride. The horse is going to run up to its potential and just focus on the horse and not the riding.

[01:04:12]

Okay. Now, I think we do this every single year, Randy. We try to talk ourselves into a japanese horse who won in, you know, the UAE or the Saudi Arabia derby. Like, we do this every single year. So this year, forever young, what are we telling ourselves? I'm sick of. I'm sick of, of basically being sold on these japanese horses, flying all the way around the world and then coming here and being like, watch out for them. It never works out. But what, tell me how this is going to be different this year.

[01:04:43]

Well, there's really only been one of them that had a legitimate chance and that was last year, Derma Sotogake. And, you know, he ran six. He ran okay. He put himself in good position at the top of the stretch. I thought he was going to be good enough to win and he wasn't. So, you know, the sample size is not all that big this year. Forever young is the most accomplished of any japanese horse that's ever come over here. He's a perfect five for five lifetime. But I've got two concerns about forever young that would keep me from being super confident in right talent wise. He's as good as any of them except Pierce wing. But he traveled 5000 miles to get from Japan to Saudi Arabia. He won the saudi derby, then he hopped over to Dubai, not very far. He won the UAE derby, then he travels 7000 miles to get here. After he won the UAE derby, his japanese trainer, through a translator, was quoted as saying that when he made the trip from Tokyo to Saudi Arabia, he did not travel well. The travel bothered him and it took him a while to get back into his rhythm with this horse.

[01:05:59]

The travel over was delayed by a week because of logistical problems. From Dubai to the United States. Right. He had to fly from Dubai to Frankfurt, from Frankfurt to Chicago. Chicago, a 42 hours quarantine into a van, 6 hours. If he didn't travel well, from Saudi. From Japan to Saudi. It concerns me that he's going to be a little bit less than 100% because of the travel all the way into here. The other thing, the trainer seems to be borderline obsessive about keeping this horse out of this kickback spray in his face. And if he tries to do that in the Kentucky Derby with 20 horses, the only way to do it would be to take him to the far outside, and in that case, he would have an impossibly wide trip, and he'd be completely screwed. So because of those two factors, I'm not as confident about forever young running well as I was last year with German Sotagake, but he is a very, very talented, very, very determined and accomplished great goal.

[01:07:09]

Another crazy story is that Jason worth actually owns one of these racehorses, or he owns at least, like, 10% of.

[01:07:14]

One of the horses.

[01:07:15]

Right.

[01:07:15]

Is it doorknock or Dornak?

[01:07:17]

Yes. Dornoch. Dornock breaks from post position number one. He'll probably set the early pace. Yeah. Jason is just now sort of getting started in a horse business, just dabbling in it. And, you know, it's such a long shot for someone to just buy a few horses and not spend an astronomical amount of money and yet have a horse in the Kentucky Derby. Yeah, he's over.

[01:07:38]

He's.

[01:07:38]

I talked to him yesterday back there in the barn area. He's over the moon about it. Really good guy. And he realizes how. How lucky he's gotten right off the bat.

[01:07:46]

Yeah, that's crazy to just get started. I think he's been doing this for, like, three years, and he has a horse in the Derby in the third year. It's an. It's insane.

[01:07:52]

Yeah.

[01:07:53]

Now, is. Is the horse. Is it a filly?

[01:07:56]

No, it's. It's. It's a horse who actually happens to be a full brother, meaning the same siren and the same dam as mage, last year's Kentucky Derby winner. It's never happened that two horses out of the same sire and mayor both won the Kentucky Derby. So this would make history if Dornoch could manage to go wire to wire from the inside. The odds are demanding brothers.

[01:08:20]

Yeah.

[01:08:21]

Is there any nepotism concerns? Like, do you think that mage maybe told him, like, hey, this is how you want to run the race? Are we worried about that?

[01:08:30]

The nepotism with Seattle slew throughout the years has been.

[01:08:33]

Yeah, maybe they hooked up a little facetime with Mage and Dornock here in the week before the Kentucky Derby. Right.

[01:08:40]

All right.

[01:08:41]

Dumb question. Do they. Do they know their brothers?

[01:08:44]

No.

[01:08:45]

Like, if they see each other, they like, yo, you look like me.

[01:08:48]

Well, who knows, right? No, I know.

[01:08:52]

I.

[01:08:52]

No one has any idea if horses would actually recognize that. You know, there are some people who believe, and I can't argue with them, necessarily. I mean, you can't factor this into your hand at that. But there's some people who believe that horses can be in the paddock. Right? You can. Before they even get to the racetrack, and you can have eight or ten horses together in the paddock. And they're getting ready to. Which is where I am, obviously, right here, by the way. And they're getting ready to go out and run in a race. And some people believe that one horse can look at another horse and say, oh, shit, I can't beat that horse.

[01:09:25]

Mentally weak. I love that.

[01:09:27]

Yeah.

[01:09:28]

Yeah, I know. Well, what about knows?

[01:09:31]

I believe that now. I absolutely believe that.

[01:09:34]

Can horses. Horses can have friends. I know that. Can they have enemies? Like rivals? Are there horses that look at another specific horse and be like, I fucking hate that horse. I'm gonna run faster?

[01:09:43]

You know, this is. It's funny that you would say that. When I first started coming to Kentucky, I took a trip to some farms in Lexington, and I went to Spendthrift Farm, big farm. And they had a firm. The Triple Crown winner there, who was a very entertaining horse. He was. He was said to be one of the most intelligent horses, good horses that ever lived. Right. A very, very smart horse. He actually used to play a game where the tour people would be up, including me, would be up at the fence, watching him in the back of the grassy paddock, and then he would come charging full speed right at the people. And it looked like he was going to just run right into the fence. And he would wait till they scattered and ran away, and then he would come to a screeching stop and just. It really entertained him to be able to scatter the people like that. Well, his sire was in the paddock next door, exclusive native, and the guy that took care of him told me that they hated each other, and they would try to. They would try to fight over the fence, and they would sometimes race each other up and down the fence line, but they did not like each other at all.

[01:10:54]

So it was like a little. What do you call that? Oedipus.

[01:10:56]

Oedipus complex. Yeah, I like that. No love lost between the two. All right, so, talking about the whole field, give us some long shots that you are looking at, maybe including in your exotics. I I'll throw one out there that maybe you can tell me is stupid. But the horse mystic Dan, just looking at the speed figures, is probably the second fastest horse if they all ran their top speed that they've run in the past. Is that stupid to include him in anything?

[01:11:26]

Wait until you see the racetrack condition on Saturday. The speed figure you're talking about was in Arkansas at Oakland park at a race called the southwest states, where it was a muddy racetrack, and he absolutely ran a freakishly good race. Coming down the stretch. He came back next start on a fast racetrack in the Arkansas Derby and wasn't nearly as effective. Now, that's not a lot of evidence. Just, you know, two races. To say that, man, this horse loves a muddy racetrack, but it's supposed to rain Friday. It's supposed to rain maybe Saturday morning if the track is muddy for the Kentucky Derby. And, you know, Mystic Dan is sitting on the board at 35 to one, you could do a whole lot worse than to make that assumption.

[01:12:13]

Okay, and then what else? What other horses should we have our eyes on where you're like, okay, this horse is. Is something you want to include?

[01:12:21]

Yeah. Two of the mid price long shots that I like, 16 to one. Right now in the betting is a horse called just a touch, who was second to Sierra Leone in the bluegrass. And he's always getting better and better and better. He's only had three races, just like justify a few years ago. So he's very inexperienced, theoretically improving, and then at. He's 16 to one, and then at 17 to one, there's a horse called Honor Marie who was second in the Louisiana Derby, who had already shown last year that he loves Churchill down, and he's looked really good here in workouts. In the morning, just a touch is up close to the face. Honor Marie will be back there with Sierra Leone toward the back of the pack. But both those horses, I think, have a really good chance, you know, to sort of sneak in to the trifectas and the super effective.

[01:13:12]

So the horse that right now has a third best odds, maybe. I don't know what the scratches are, but catching freedom is right now, I think, eight to one. I don't know if that's current, but we haven't talked about him. He seems to be right in the conversation. What do you think about him?

[01:13:27]

He ran a really good race to win the Louisiana Derby. Right? Honor Murray was second. He beat Honor Murray by LinkedIn. There they were last. And next to laugh in the early part of the race, so just like Sierra Leone, you know, those horses will all be way back at the back of the pack. I think they found out something in that race about catching freedom. He didn't break very well, and he had never been that far back before, and that was the best race of his life. And I think. I think they found out that's the way he wants to run. But he's still going to have to improve, I think, from that race into the Kentucky Derby. But no, he's. He's definitely not without. Not without a chance.

[01:14:04]

So you're in the new paddock right now. I know that they've. They've changed the track up a little bit, aren't they? They nerfed the track. They made it softer. They're trying to not have a repeat of what happened last year. What, what changes have been made to the actual surface of the track?

[01:14:18]

It's the composition of the track. It's the percentages of sand, silt and clay. They bought some new equipment to take care of the track a little bit better. One of the things that's going to be interesting, I think, is that there's a higher percentage of clay, apparently in the track. And if you know anything about farming or whatever, I don't. But whatever it. Clay holds moisture more than sand and silt. This track was always known as a track that dried very, very quickly because it had a higher percentage of sand. And now with more clay in the track, there is at least some concern with the trainers back there that if it rains Friday and it rains Saturday morning, that the track may not dry as quickly on Kentucky Derby day as it has in the past. So that, you know, that might be the most immediate impact that we see.

[01:15:08]

Yeah.

[01:15:09]

And then talking about Friday, usually give us something on the Kentucky Oaks. You will be on the broadcast we'll see all weekend. So what do you think in Kentucky Oaks for people who want to start on Friday?

[01:15:20]

Look, I'll give you some horses to bet Friday and Saturday, right? Okay. And the Kentucky Oaks. We'll start with the Kentucky Oaks on Friday. I have a very tough time separating the five, Torpedo Anna and the 13. Just FYI. Right now, Torpedo Anna is the favorite in the early betting. Just FYI. You know, it's almost a coin flip between the two horses. So I would play exact this back and forth between those two right now. Just fy's, I think, five to one, which will be a great price for her. The horse I like the most in the two days for betting purposes is running on Saturday in the 7th race, it's a race called the Distaff Turf Mile, and her name is Coppice. C o P P I C E. She breaks from number eleven in the 7th race on Saturday, her first race in the United States. And the reviews of this horse back at the barn in the mornings have been absolutely glowing. And a lot of those european horses come over here and kick ass against the american horses when they switch them to the turf. And then a few races later, the 10th race, there's a race called the Churchill down Stakes, seven furlong sprint.

[01:16:35]

I'm not positive this horse is fast enough to win, but it's going to be twelve or 15 to one, and the horse could be right there. And I'm going to bet it. The horse's name is track mate.

[01:16:48]

Okay.

[01:16:49]

Track mate number seven in the, in the 10th race on, on Saturday.

[01:16:55]

Okay. All right.

[01:16:56]

I like that.

[01:16:57]

I like, I like that endorsement of it. I'm not sure this horse is fast enough to win, but I'm going to bet on it.

[01:17:01]

Yeah.

[01:17:02]

At that price.

[01:17:03]

Yeah.

[01:17:03]

You know, numbers wise, he can win. In his last race at Oaklawn park, it was just an allowance race. You watched that race and you're like, whoa. I mean, he streaked around horses coming to the stretch and then drew off and won. Wayne Lucas trains him. He's had blinkers twice. He won both those races last race. He just, he really gave you that sort of wow factor when you watched him run. And this is not the toughest Churchill downstakes that we've seen over the years. So I think he's got a really good chance to be right there when.

[01:17:34]

When you go blinkers on. Are we basically saying that the horse is just not mentally tough?

[01:17:40]

Yeah.

[01:17:41]

Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[01:17:45]

It's typically, typically that the horse is too distracted.

[01:17:50]

Right.

[01:17:50]

Right. The horse is looking at the other horses. The horse is looking at the crowd, you know, the horses, especially in the infield of the Kentucky Derby. Oh, look over there. Holy cow. Look at that. You know, and he's not, and he's not focused on what he's doing in front of him. Right. So the blinkers sort of help him not look at anything else except what's just like right there. The other thing is that sometimes horses, what the blinkers will do when they sharpen the focus, it makes horses often run faster early, for whatever reason. I guess it's because they're just, they're more focused. And so if some horses just have trouble early in the race and they drop too far back, trainers will put blinkers on the horse, hoping that it makes them show more speed. And oftentimes it works.

[01:18:35]

Now, in terms of horse racing technology, have. Have we ever thought about, you know, how, like, outfielders would wear the sunglasses that you can flip on and off? Have we thought about doing blinkers where it's like, you can have the blinkers on for the first start of the race, and then you can flip them off at the end? Has that. I think I might have just invented a new thing.

[01:18:56]

You may have. And before you know it, you may have those. You may have eye black under the horse's eyes. You don't know. Yeah, I I mean, but what you do see in horse racing, that's. That's pretty funny, is that some horses are claustrophobic, and they don't want to go into the starting gate. This happens in Europe more than it does in the United States. So they'll put a hood on them, a complete hood, no eye holes. They can't see anything. And they'll put them in the gate, and they'll load them in the gate, and they'll keep that hood on them, and the jockey will have his hand on top of the hood, and as soon as the gate opens, he'll throw the hood off, throw it behind him, and then the horse. The horse will go on. Now, the day that the jockey forgets to take the hood off, that should be very interesting.

[01:19:41]

Yeah, it sounds like they're. They're taking the horse hostage, and then they're like, okay, you're free. Try to get away, and then it runs out. That's actually a smart move.

[01:19:49]

What about this?

[01:19:50]

What about if you were to take, have a horse and have it train with a really fat jockey for a while, and then on race day, here's your real jockey. He weighs 150 pounds less.

[01:19:59]

It's like a batting donut.

[01:20:00]

Yeah, a batting donut.

[01:20:01]

Yeah, yeah.

[01:20:02]

It's like swinging a leaded bat or something like that.

[01:20:05]

Yeah.

[01:20:05]

There was a trainer named Larry Jones who still trains horses every now and then. He's had some really good horses over the years. He had hard spun. Who was second in the conflict of Derby way back when. Larry weighs about 100, probably about 170 pounds or whatever, he would like to breeze his horses and get on them in the mornings. And that was little part of the theory.

[01:20:25]

Yeah.

[01:20:26]

Thought it would spring. It's thought it would strengthen them up a little bit. Right. And then in the afternoon, you put on your, you know, 110 pound rider and. And boom. You don't see that very often, though.

[01:20:36]

Yeah.

[01:20:36]

Did it work?

[01:20:37]

I want a lot of races.

[01:20:39]

Okay.

[01:20:39]

That's a smart move.

[01:20:40]

Yeah, it's a very smart move.

[01:20:41]

What's the minimum weighted jockey has to.

[01:20:43]

Be minimum or maximum?

[01:20:45]

Minimum. Is there a minimum?

[01:20:47]

Well, I mean, typically nowadays, you don't see many races at all where the minimum weight is any lower than, like, 112, 113 pounds.

[01:20:58]

Right.

[01:20:58]

So if you do happen to have a super duper lightweight jockey like Pat day used to be. Right. That day was a natural lightweight. Like, I'm talking, like, 105 pounds or something like that. So when Pat would ride and his horse had to carry 115 pounds, they just put ten pounds of lead weight into the saddle so that he can, you know, carry the amount of weight that he's required to carry. As far as a maximum weight, typically nowadays, you know, it's very difficult for a jockey to ride if he weighs more than 117, 116 pounds.

[01:21:35]

Okay.

[01:21:35]

Because they're overweight. They're overweight on too many races. Yeah.

[01:21:40]

But, yeah, I'm just thinking, like. Like what? You know, like maybe a seven year old on a horse.

[01:21:47]

Yeah.

[01:21:48]

Would they just be able to dominate?

[01:21:50]

Yeah.

[01:21:50]

Just ride just standing on a.

[01:21:51]

Maybe, like a 50 pound seven year old.

[01:21:54]

Have we thought about getting jokic involved in american horse racing? We know he loves horses, and I feel like this would be right up his alley. He's in the playoffs, obviously, so he can't do it now, but getting him involved, owning a horse and then he would ride on the back of the horse to train it and then put a jockey on that horse is going to be so fast.

[01:22:12]

Hey, we got Jason worth this year. You know, Aaron Rodgers will probably be here. Tom Brady will be here. So, yeah, I mean, it's good to maintain these athletes involved with their hand.

[01:22:22]

Yeah.

[01:22:22]

All right, last question. This has always been great. We love having you on, Randy. It's a rowback question. Rho back.com promo code. Take 20% off your first purchase. Cusps, polos, hoodies, joggers, shorts. Roback.com dot so, this year's a little interesting for the Triple Crown. I'll actually be there for the Belmont, which is going to be at Saratoga. Is that going to. Is that going to change? Yeah, hopefully I'll see you. Is that going to change any of the horses that are in the triple crown? You know, because I know you can obviously race the Preakness in Belmont, even if you're not in the Kentucky Derby, but the fact that it's in a different place in a different track, does that change the dynamic and how. How trainers are playing this out.

[01:23:00]

Not the fact that it said a different track, but the fact that it's at a different distance.

[01:23:06]

Yeah.

[01:23:07]

Because the Belmont is being run at Saratoga this year, they don't feel comfortable running it at a mile and a half because then you'd have to start it halfway around the turn. Now, it's been done in the past when the Belmont was run at Aqueduct a few way back when, in the sixties, I think when they were the first time they were rebuilding Belmont park, they ran at a mile and a half, and they started it on the turn with no problem because they felt it was important to keep that mile and a half distance. But this year, next year, the New York authorities have decided that it would be better to run the Belmont Stakes at a mile and a quarter, which completely changes the dynamic of the Triple Crown.

[01:23:46]

Right.

[01:23:46]

You know, the Belmont was always known as the fifth of the champion because of that mile and a half distance. That was the undoing of so many horses that were trying to sleep with triple crown. It's much, to me, the distances of the races and the Belmont, especially being a mile and a half, it's much more important to keep that tradition than the amount of time between the Derby and the freakness. And the freakness in the Belmont. But at a mile and a quarter, I think you're going to see a lot more trainers want to run in the Belmont states than if it were still a mile and a half.

[01:24:21]

So this is going to be whoever. If someone wins the triple crown this year or next year, we're going to just forever be like asterisks, bubble, championship, different.

[01:24:29]

Right? Yes, absolutely. Absolutely. I think that's unfortunate.

[01:24:33]

Yeah.

[01:24:33]

But on the other hand, you're going to get more horses running in the other races, which is good, right?

[01:24:38]

Well, more in the war in the Belmont.

[01:24:40]

Yeah. Yeah.

[01:24:42]

And Saratoga is incredible.

[01:24:44]

Oh, yeah. Yeah.

[01:24:46]

And it's.

[01:24:46]

That's going to be quite the spectacle. I. I wish I could see you there. I'm not going to be there.

[01:24:50]

Okay.

[01:24:51]

Fox says the Belmont states nowadays, but it's going to be like, really, really something special to see.

[01:24:57]

Okay. All right.

[01:24:58]

Sounds good, Randy. Thank you, as always. We'll talk to you before the Preakness. We're excited. We're very excited for the Kentucky Derby. It's like the official start of summer in my mind, and look at that scene. It looks beautiful. It's nice paddock and good luck on tv on Friday and Saturday. And I know you'll look great. You got a good outfit I'm sure picked out, and we'll talk to you in a couple weeks.

[01:25:21]

All right, guys, take care. This is always the highlight of my week for one of them.

[01:25:25]

I love it. I love it.

[01:25:27]

Good to see you.

[01:25:27]

Thanks, Randy.

Okay, we now welcome on our good friend, recurring guest, all around great guy.

[01:27:49]

It is.

[01:27:49]

Keith Yandle. We're going to talk some puck. Yan's good to talk to you. Yeah, yeah.

[01:27:55]

You guys went over last podcast, you saying very, very, very special guest, and I get fucking nothing.

[01:28:02]

Yeah.

[01:28:02]

And actually, on this episode, people are going to listen to this after they listen to Randy Moss. I think I gave him four varies. Damn. Yeah. You got varies.

[01:28:13]

Do you think you should get none?

[01:28:15]

But, like, I don't know, fake one? Like, very.

[01:28:18]

Okay. All right.

[01:28:19]

Very, very.

[01:28:21]

There you go.

[01:28:21]

Those two. Yance, before we talk about some of these second round matchups, you were texting me yesterday, and he. He said he wishes he had memes phone number. We could have texted him and asked how many games you really thought the Islanders were going to win. So we might as well do it right now because you. You were dealing with Frankie Borelli and Islanders fans.

[01:28:43]

Yeah.

[01:28:44]

They thought that a four one loss of the hurricanes in that first round series, they were right there, which is insane.

[01:28:52]

Is memes there?

[01:28:53]

Yeah, memes.

[01:28:55]

A. I wanted his phone numbers because I wanted to be friends with him. I love memes. But second, but, like, it's like Borelli's making this big deal, having Stu finer come into his restaurant, watch games like, they had zero chance of winning that series. Zero. And do I love the fact that they did it in heartbreaking fashion? Yes, I love it because, you know, I played for the Rangers. I hate the Islanders. But the fact that they thought that they. I'd rather not be in the playoffs, then think that you're gonna win a series or think you're gonna win a game. Like, is just. It's. It's just typical thinking of, uh, you know, the barrelli type fan.

[01:29:32]

Yeah. Sad.

[01:29:33]

So, wait, you. You hated the Islanders? Is that common? Like, do. Do most players, if it's their rival, they actually have a hatred of them?

[01:29:41]

Well, I think when you play a team, you know, you play a team so much, you're in the same division, you're, you know, a couple miles away. And when you played the Islanders, especially back then, when they were at Nassau Coliseum, it was the worst hotel, the worst food. The walk to the rink is brutal. So it's just, there's nothing fun about going to that, that town to play a game, but great fans, loyal, passionate, but, you know, they, they're hanging on to their 1970s a little bit too long.

[01:30:11]

Yeah. Yeah.

[01:30:12]

All right, so, memes, what do you say to that? Are you, do you think you were right there? I do think we were right there.

[01:30:21]

That's crazy. Crazy people talking.

[01:30:23]

How. Memes, game two, we probably should have won. So should have been two. Two going in to get game.

[01:30:29]

So that's one win.

[01:30:30]

Yeah. All right. And then it would have been coming back to the island.

[01:30:34]

Three, two.

[01:30:35]

Okay.

[01:30:35]

Would have won that.

[01:30:36]

They wouldn't.

[01:30:36]

We would have stolen one game seven.

[01:30:37]

Okay.

[01:30:38]

All right. So that's how they would have done it.

[01:30:40]

All right, so my bad. Maybe they would have won it. They would have got a pass right to the finals if they won that series.

[01:30:46]

Yeah.

[01:30:46]

All right, so, so let's start with, uh, let's start with the east, because you, you just mentioned your former team, the Rangers. They beat the Capitals very quickly. It was, it was seven days, exactly, which I was trying to help, pft being like, if you're out in seven days, you just were never in the playoffs. No one will remember. Are we at the point? Is it early enough to do the rest versus Russ thing? Are we worried that the Rangers, they played four games, then they're going to take a week off and now they got to get back out there? Do they lose a little bit of their, you know, momentum going into the next round?

[01:31:18]

I don't think so. I think, I think rest is such a big component, especially now during playoffs. Anytime you can get it is huge. At the end of every series, pretty much every guy's banged up going through something, whether it's a, you know, bruises or, you know, stuff that's broken, guys are battling through it. So I think the rest component is huge. Anytime you can get it, especially during the playoffs, because you don't know if you're going to get it next series or the series after. And, you know, they might have a slow first period, but Carolina is going to have some rest to probably take the under in that first game.

[01:31:53]

So the, the Rangers, is their penalty kill as good as it looked, or is it just that the Capitals are atrocious?

[01:32:00]

I think a little bit of both. You didn't, you didn't see the Capitals power play that you used to see in the last, what 20 years with Ovi, it's, you know, they did a good, good job of eliminating him. You know, I don't think he had his best series that he's ever had and I'm sure he would be the first guy to tell you that. But, you know, a lot of hard work from that team at the end of this season to try to get in. They might have been out of gas, but I do think that the Rangers PK and their power play, their special teams are great. They got a lot of, they got a lot of dogs out there, just guys that are willing to pay the price, block shots, playoff time. That's what it's all about. And guys sacrificing themselves. And I think the Rangers are one of the best teams at doing that. And, you know, they got the guys that want a PK and then when you have such a good power play like they do, it just makes you, your PK look even better.

[01:32:51]

With OV specifically, I've watched a lot of him this year. I've watched his entire career in the playoffs. He looked like a different guy entirely. It was to a point where I started to get concerned, like, is this the new Ov? Is this just who he is now? Because he seemed to hit a wall this year. So maybe it was he's out of gas by the end of the season, but the way that he played it was completely foreign to me as somebody that's seen this guy's entire career, haven't seen that type of play from OV ever. And so now I'm worried next year, looking forward, is this just going to be ov trotting him out there, trying to get him out on power plays until he gets the record and then, then the franchise is just kind of treading water for the next season or maybe two seasons.

[01:33:31]

Yeah, I think it could. I think it could be a little of that. But, yeah, there were a few plays during that series when, you know, and we, when I was with the Rangers, we played the Washington and, you know, a lot of times, like, he'll come down the wall. Like, he's usually in his spot up there hitting a one time, but if there's a loose puck and you're a d man going to get it, he's usually running you through the glass. And I didn't see much of that out of him. But, you know, it's like you guys, you know, you've said before on the show, father Time is undefeated. And, you know, I don't, I don't know if they had the best team to support him as well. You know, I think they were lucky to get in with, you know, obviously the goal differentials everyone's been talking about. But yeah, you can see him especially, you know, he'll put his 20 games together where he just goes on heaters, plays well, plays hard. But I think. I think the days of where he's running guys through the boards, you know, a force to be reckoned with out there, those might be limited, but, you know, I think when it comes to goal scoring, he's.

[01:34:30]

I think he could do it till he's 45 years old. Cause he's got one of those shots where no one wants to block it. Whether you're a defenseman or a goalie, you don't want to get hit by it. So I think. I think you're still going to see the, you know, him scoring goals and getting opportunities, but I think that the rest of that stuff that made him so effective with, you know, being a force out there, scary to play against. He's a big, like, people don't realize he's probably 250 pounds, you know, especially when playoffs come at the end of the year. You're eating a lot of chicken parm during the season, right? So it's, you're putting on weight. So he's probably playing at 250 running guys and not. Not a fun man to play against.

[01:35:08]

What? So last question about the Rangers. Matt Rempy, who electrified the NHL when he, when he, when he came up was fighting every single night. He turned down a fight in this series with Tom Wilson. Does that matter at all in the locker room going forward? Like, hey, dude, it's the playoffs, or was it simply the Rangers were going to win that series no matter what? Don't waste your fights in this series.

[01:35:30]

Yeah, I think a little bit of both. The key thing to fighting is time and place. And, you know, you talk to guys like biz or guys like you can hurt a team's moment, your own team's momentum. You can help another team's momentum. If you're up by a goal, it's usually an unwritten law that you don't fight. The other team's fighter is probably going to try to fight you to get his team going a little bit. But that's when you kind of, you know, shake it off and say, no, no, no, wait till it's tied or whatever. But usually when, when fights like that happen, especially in playoffs, it's usually a little more organic. Whether a guy gets ran from behind or stuck in the face. But I think, I think the days of where guys are just, you know, tapping shim pads at the, at the red line and saying, hey, we're going this shift. I think that's kind of done, especially during playoffs, because it's, it's all about momentum for your team. I can't, I can't remember exactly the play. Was it at home or on the road?

[01:36:20]

I think it was game three and.

[01:36:23]

Either three or four. But Wilson was trying to get after him a couple of times in this.

[01:36:27]

Series and the Rangers were up one.

[01:36:28]

Especially on the road, too. Like, you're, you don't need to fight on the road because you're just going to get the other team's crowd into it. At home, you're probably looking for it a little more, but on the road, you don't, you don't need to get the other team's crowd into it, you know, especially, like, pft, he'll be taking his shirt off and waving it around like Petey Pablo.

[01:36:47]

Yeah, another dumb question about remp. So he comes up and he fights. I can't remember, it was like four or five of the first games that he played in the locker room. Is there anyone like, hey, dude, we get it. Like, we, we love you, you're good. Like, after the third fight, they're like, hey, you're, you're good with us. Like, we, we know you're the tough guy now. Like, we're, we're good going forward. You're our guy. Or was he like, I'm just going to keep fighting until everyone in here says to me personally that they love me.

[01:37:16]

It's a good way to get the, you know, get the, the graces of your teammates is by going out and fighting, especially when you're a young player trying to make a name for yourself. But I don't, I don't think he needs to do it. And you'll see during playoffs, like, he won't be doing it as much. He'll be playing in. He's, he's a scary guy to play against. Like, he's six, seven, flies around. So I think he's more effective getting in on the four checks, scaring d men, you know, making plays when he can. But, but at the, at the end of the day, the fighting stuff in playoffs is, is not going to be, is going to be more organic.

[01:37:52]

Yeah.

[01:37:52]

How does, how do you usually initiate a fight?

[01:37:55]

Is it.

[01:37:55]

You want to go.

[01:37:58]

Yeah, you want one? A lot of guys say you want one?

[01:38:01]

Yeah.

[01:38:02]

You want a shot at the belt. That's what I used to say.

[01:38:05]

How many fights did you log?

[01:38:08]

Not many. Maybe eight.

[01:38:11]

Yeah.

[01:38:12]

16 years. Yeah.

[01:38:13]

Is there a good way to turn down a fight or do you just skate away? Like, can you say, not right now, I can't do it right. I'm busy.

[01:38:19]

I used to always say, either my hand. My hand hurts or. Or a coach won't let me.

[01:38:29]

Know. Okay. Other series in the east that hasn't been finished. Do you want to. I know that we have game six tonight. We're taping this in the afternoon. Is there any way the Leafs can win this and take it to seven and then possibly steal this? Because it felt like they were dead, especially with Austin Matthews out. Like, they're yelling at each other on the. On the bench, like, is there any chance Elise can somehow get this to seven and maybe win?

[01:38:55]

I don't know. A lot of it. It has a little bit of a feeling of last year when. When the Bruins lost to the Panthers with, you know, missing a couple goals. Are marshawn missed last year? I think Coyle missed one this year. So it has a little bit of that same feeling. But I think. I think Toronto played their best game last game, and I thought the Bruins were not very good at all. They. It was a sloppy game. Not a lot of it looked like the ice, that the parquet was still down. Like pucks were bouncing everywhere. So I don't think they can pull this one off. I think the Bruins have the leadership, the veteran presence in that locker room that they'll be able to, you know, win one of two. But if they lose tonight, man, it's going to get. It's going to get a little testy in the waters in Boston.

[01:39:41]

Do you think maybe Ryan Whitney turned the series around with the. The photoshop that he personally created and put out there online? And the leaf saw that and they're like, fuck this, we're going to go out there and win.

[01:39:50]

Oh, I didn't even see that.

[01:39:52]

Oh, you didn't see the photoshop?

[01:39:56]

Why don't you maybe what sensor Yano.

[01:40:00]

So he knows what not to share online.

[01:40:02]

It would be great if Yanz was the one who created it. He's just, he's just like Kaiser Soza. He's like, I don't even have a computer. He's masterminding all these AI images. Yeah, I wouldn't. I wouldn't put it past you. Um, out west. So the Dallas, uh, Golden Knights series, everyone said, this is going to be a war. You saw the Golden Knights win the first two games. Like, oh, shit, maybe the Golden Knights run away with this. Now we're back to war, and it's three two, Dallas. They won three in a row. Same kind of question with the Leafs. Like, I know the Golden Knights can do it. They just won a cup. But do you see them being able to force this to a game seven? And what happened in the last three games that. That the Golden Knights went from a 20 winning two on the road to now fighting for their life?

[01:40:43]

Yeah, it's a good question. And I had Dallas going to the finals last year. I think I might even have them going to the finals this year because they got Ottinger, who is the top three goalie in the league. They got young studs, they got older guys that have been around forever that have, you know, done a lot of damage in this league. So I think that their team, the way that they're made up is, you know, a tough team to beat. But Vegas, I don't know if it's, you know, everyone complains about, you know, the guys being on ltir and not playing the last half of the season to stay under the cap, but to me, it looks like it's hurting them a little bit this year. I think, you know, Stone and hurdle, I don't think they look, you know, like themselves. As dominant as they are when they're 100% healthy, you know, they could be still hurt, but it's one of those things when you go on a run like last year, you're winning games, you're beating people up. You know, they play a very physical, physical game. So it could be one of those things where they're just tired.

[01:41:41]

They're, you know, kind of need the rest. But, you know, it's also. They're running into a good team first, I know that they were the eight seed, but it, you know, playing Dallas first round is never fun. And this has probably been the best series, I think, of. It could be a western conference final matchup. If, you know, Vegas, you know, had their weapons all year, I think they would have finished a little bit higher, but, yeah, I think Dallas, I think this is their year to pull this one off and beat Vegas.

[01:42:12]

What about Edmonton? I know it's hard to say how good they are right now because they beat the Kings. It feels like they do that every single season. If I was a Kings fan, I would just. I would despise all of Canada, but they. They advanced pretty easily.

[01:42:23]

Was it. Is it three years in a row?

[01:42:27]

I think.

[01:42:27]

Didn't I think they lost in the first round.

[01:42:30]

I think they lost. I think they lost to LA three years ago.

[01:42:33]

Oh, did that.

[01:42:34]

They lost three years ago. But yeah, it feels like, it feels like last year.

[01:42:37]

I know they play. I don't know.

[01:42:38]

Yeah.

[01:42:38]

So, so Edmonton advances. Is this, do you think that this would be the year? Because we were all over it last year with Conor McDavid. We're like, this could be the year that he gets it done because we won't acknowledge his greatness until he gets a ring. Facts, that's something that, you know, it's very important to us on this show. So until then, he's not a winner. Would this be, it feels like this is a tougher west with Colorado and then whoever comes out of that, that Vegas Dallas series.

[01:43:03]

Yeah, I think that they have the easiest, you know, matchups to get to the Western Conference finals, you know, obviously with playing LA, who they've had their number the last couple years, like you said, and then they're going to get the winner of Vancouver, Nashville. And I think that they'll, they'll work either one of those teams, but I don't, I don't think it's their year. And you hate to say it just because, you know, what, what McDavid and dry, Seidel and Hymen have done this year and what they do for the league. But, but I just think those other teams are a little bit more deep, better goaltending, better defensively. But I do like how Edmonton is bulked up on the back end, you know, bringing in big guys. I think you see in playoffs, you know, a lot of the teams that have the big, strong, heavy d, they're the teams that are usually winning it or going deep, but I just don't see it this year for them. You know, hopefully one day McDavid gets one. But I don't, I think the west is, is too stacked and at the end of the day, I think the east is going to win it this year.

[01:44:08]

Has the league gone to back to bigger players? Cause I know it switched a little bit in like the, you know, the Blackhawks run. They had big players, but like there were some teams with some. A lot more skill and speed as do you see it like going back towards like you need the bulky guys and just kind of hammer teams.

[01:44:27]

I think. I think in playoffs you have to. But, you know, the way that the game is, you have to be mobile. You can't just be a big, you know, when I started in the league, it was 6465 d men who just, you know, you couldn't get near the front of the net, that couldn't skate as well as the guys can now. So I think you got to have a combination of, you know, big guys that can, that can move the puck decently and can clear the front of the net. But yeah, it's definitely, I think during the regular season you see that, you know, the smaller guys, the more finesse guys, they'll shine a little bit more. But when it comes to down time for playoffs, it's usually the teams with the big heavy d that are winning games.

[01:45:05]

Yeah.

[01:45:05]

What do we think about what's going on with the whole Arizona Utah thing? So the players were told at the end of the season, I have to imagine that some of them knew that this was a very good possibility that was going to happen, but they're moving to Utah. They don't have a name yet. Is there anything that you've heard in terms of what they're going to be called?

[01:45:24]

I've heard a few things. I like the Yetis, but I don't know, it doesn't, doesn't really matter to me, but I think. I think it's a good thing. Obviously, you hate to see, especially Phoenix is where I started my career. Loved it there, loved my time there. But I think it's just time for them to move on and then hopefully get in the right owner and get a team back there because it's one of those cities that I think needs to have hockey. If you look at, you know, Austin Matthews, a guy from Arizona, if he didn't have the, you know, the coyotes there and a guy like Shane Doane to look up to, he would have never played hockey. And I think he's came out and said that. So I think you got to have a team there. My guess is they're going to get the right ownership group to come in, build a stadium near where, you know, the highly dense population is in Scottsdale, Tempe North Scottsdale. Get the right owners and get the right guys to run that team and I think it would flourish.

[01:46:23]

I got a name for you that should, that should be helping out to run that team. Commodore. That dude's awesome.

[01:46:29]

Mike Commodore.

[01:46:30]

Yeah.

[01:46:31]

That guy went to the final four.

[01:46:32]

Guy is a fucking maniac.

[01:46:35]

I don't know him that well, but he is a funny man.

[01:46:37]

Yeah, I mean, it's just hockey guys are always. Every hockey guy's funny. I don't understand what you guys do.

[01:46:43]

Yeah, but the, the Utah Yetis, I think that's that's a winner of a name.

[01:46:46]

Yeah, I yance, I went to, I went back to Madison to do they have like an end of the year sports award. So I was the MC and it was like a thousand athletes in the whole auditorium. And of course, the entire hockey team was in the front row. I think they had been camping out for like, like a week. And I was just like, now I feel at home, like. Cause I just know those guys. They're funny and they're going to, they actually listen to Barstool and pardon my take. So it's something about hockey guys.

[01:47:14]

Yeah, they're the best. And especially college kids, though, you know, obviously the audience that you guys have and what, you know, all the enjoyment you guys bring to everyone, it's, they must have loved it. And I could only imagine being a young kid listening to you up there and were they, were they giving you shit or anything or.

[01:47:31]

Yeah, they were giving me shit. And then they, they all came up and asked for a picture after and they're giving me shit about my, I was wearing a shirt without collar. It was, I don't know what. Someone sent it to me. His fashion choice that I probably should have been doing.

[01:47:43]

Have a stain on there?

[01:47:44]

No, it looked like I look like a priest.

[01:47:45]

Oh, nice.

[01:47:46]

And then they were there. Give me shit, cuz I wasn't gonna go to the bar with them.

[01:47:50]

You didn't go out with them?

[01:47:51]

Dude, I gotta work. Where did you PMT?

[01:47:55]

You sound like biz.

[01:47:57]

Yeah, business like. Yeah, but Biz, when he says I gotta work, he just goes and takes a nap. Yeah, I actually had to work. We had to do PMT after, after all the playoff games. I would have loved to go out.

[01:48:08]

You tell me this doesn't go out anymore.

[01:48:10]

He goes out. Yeah, I actually had a fun night with him the other, the other night. He is out of his mind, that guy.

[01:48:17]

What happened? Do any cameos?

[01:48:21]

No.

[01:48:21]

Does he, is he on cameo?

[01:48:23]

Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.

[01:48:23]

You don't know about the great one. You don't know about the famous cameo? We'll send it to you.

[01:48:29]

Oh, yes.

[01:48:31]

No, I think down it might be gone.

[01:48:33]

Too hot for the Internet.

[01:48:34]

It was too hot for the Internet. Wasn't him. It was the guy in the background. We have it, Max. Somebody's got it. All right, I'll get, we'll find it.

[01:48:41]

We'll send it to you.

[01:48:42]

Tell us what?

[01:48:43]

Like an average night out on the town with business like.

[01:48:47]

Well, the night he came out with me, it was me. My wife. Three of our friends and their wives. And he had some girl who was gonna come to dinner with us, like, just some girl he's never met. Then he was like, all right, I'm gonna go meet her. He shows up. She's with her boyfriend. He's like, hey, what's going on here? Like, am I interrupting anything? And the guy was like, yes. He went to the bathroom, and then the girl was like, no, he's not my boyfriend. So he. His mind was in a pretzel. So, yeah, it was fun to pick him up the next day, go to lunch, and him tell me that story.

[01:49:23]

Oh, my God. Only biz.

[01:49:25]

Only biz.

[01:49:26]

I got my bull coming over.

[01:49:27]

He's a.

[01:49:27]

He's a former ice hockey player.

[01:49:29]

You love him. Give me the three best goalies in the playoffs right now.

[01:49:35]

I think you got to put Bobrovsky at one.

[01:49:38]

Yeah.

[01:49:41]

Ottinger probably a two nights, and then I'll go Shasturk in three.

[01:49:47]

Okay.

[01:49:48]

Yeah. So. And is it.

[01:49:49]

Is it a big difference between the three? Like, is it. Is one just playing at such a different level, or all three of those guys could easily win the cup?

[01:49:58]

I think Bob's playing at a different level. I think, you know, that. That save that he made, I think it was game two, where you just reached back, made the save. I think, like, every time I see it, I just think that that's the start of the DVD when you win the championship, I just think. You think back to all the Stanley cup winners, there's always, like, that one save where a guy makes, and it's, you know, just cements his legacy as an all time great. And Bob's one of those guys. He's. He's a competitor. He's an amazing goalie, and, you know, easy guy to root for.

[01:50:34]

Yeah.

[01:50:34]

So, who do you have in the Stanley cup final?

[01:50:37]

I got Florida and Colorado.

[01:50:45]

Ooh.

[01:50:46]

Yeah.

[01:50:46]

Cause Colorado gets, like, you know, they win the cup, and then last year, it felt like it's. It's hard to repeat.

[01:50:53]

And.

[01:50:54]

And so many miles on their legs, and now I'm watching them, I'm like, oh, yeah. This team was really dominant two years ago. Like, what? And not a lot has changed.

[01:51:02]

They. They.

[01:51:03]

They made quick work at the first round, and they play such a fun style of hockey. It feels like maybe it's just personal. Like, people have kind of, like, slept on Colorado a little bit.

[01:51:14]

Yeah, I think they have, for sure. And I think it's probably because they don't have that, you know, household name goaltender. If they did, then I think everyone would have them as their favorite. But you just love to, like, Nathan McKinnon. Every shift he's doing something that is just special and, you know, getting to know, you know, hearing more about him the way he is in the locker room. He trains with Crosby all summer. Like, you just know he's demanding a lot out of his team in between every period, after every game, he's holding guys accountable. You know, probably the best. You know, I don't know if he's a vocal leader, but the way that he plays, probably the best leader in the game right now, just given 100% effort. Like, he skates like it's his last shift, every single shift. It's wild to me. Like, and he does it for 82 games and then in the playoffs, like most guys, like, it's a lot to do all year, and he brings it. He's worth the price of admission. And, you know, obviously he's won his cup, but I think it's one of those things he wants.

[01:52:13]

He wants more. He's not satisfied.

[01:52:15]

Yeah.

[01:52:15]

So it sounds like you have the, the Panthers over the avalanche in the final sign because you said you thought the east was going to win it this year, right?

[01:52:21]

Yeah, I think it's the Panthers year. I just, they're a fun team to watch there. They play so hard. Their big guys are playing great. Barkov had an amazing closing game against Tampa, and, you know, Tampa was, you know, the kryptonite for a long time, you know, those guys, and I think you see the changing of the guard a little bit, a little 400 miles south. I think it now it's like the Panthers are kind of running the East a little bit the last two years anyways, so it's. It's fun to see what, what they've been able to do for hockey down here and, you know, getting people interested and, you know, just every. Everywhere I go now, it's just people are talking about the team and, you know, it's just fun to have it around and, you know, especially in a market like this where it's not, you know, a cold city where people grew up playing hockey, it's one of those things. It's came, it's came organically with, with, you know, how well the team's been playing.

[01:53:18]

Do you call them the peas?

[01:53:19]

Cause we call them the peas, but that's only. Cause Brooks calls them the peas.

[01:53:23]

I do not call them the peas.

[01:53:24]

No, they're not the peas. The thurs.

[01:53:27]

What do you call them?

[01:53:28]

The cats.

[01:53:29]

The cats.

[01:53:30]

Oh, yeah, that's.

[01:53:30]

Ooh, I like that. This may be outdated because we're going to tape the beginning of the show after the playoff games tonight, but do you think hanks being a pussy, not being cocky Hank?

[01:53:43]

I I do kind of hate. Hate to pile on Hank, because he's my guy, you know, mask guy, but I think. I think you need. You need to act a little more cocky, Hank, like, it's in you. It's in you to fucking give it to the people, you know? And I think a little bit that has hurt him is the Patriots and the whole lighthouse things. But.

[01:54:05]

He hasn't recovered from the light.

[01:54:09]

Has not been.

[01:54:10]

Am I wrong? He hasn't been the same. Same since the lighthouse.

[01:54:12]

It's true. You can all. You could track it all back to the lighthouse.

[01:54:16]

Yeah.

[01:54:16]

It's where. It's where the. His cockiness just kind of fell out of it. Might be he's.

[01:54:21]

In general, it's hard to be cocky.

[01:54:22]

No, but the lighthouse, mostly.

[01:54:24]

Yes.

[01:54:25]

That's fair.

[01:54:27]

He's more into golf right now. That kind of. That's a chill sport. Like, he's banging balls and, you know, just rooting for his teams like a. Like a gentleman. But, yeah, I'd like to see that the cocky Hank, especially with the Celtics, like, just fucking bring it out, Hank.

[01:54:41]

Yeah.

[01:54:41]

This is.

[01:54:42]

This is why we need the Sixers to play against the Celtics, because that. That Hank would have no choice. He would not be able to self. He would naturally revert back to, like, fuck you, Philly. I'm a dick.

[01:54:52]

The Sixers fucking stink, and so does Max.

[01:54:55]

Yeah.

[01:54:55]

So we're going to. I mean, what do you have? Do you have anything to say to him before he goes to war tonight? He's. He's got a little bounce to his step, you know, winning. I don't think he thought he was going to win game five. And now he's got a little bounce to his step where he's like, this might be. We might be back. This might actually work this morning. Yeah, he was.

[01:55:13]

What?

[01:55:14]

He's lifting. He's getting back in shape.

[01:55:16]

Third time this week, for the record.

[01:55:17]

Hell, yeah.

[01:55:18]

Yeah.

[01:55:19]

Matt Mack.

[01:55:20]

You want action on the game tonight, Max?

[01:55:23]

Now they're going to lose.

[01:55:24]

What?

[01:55:25]

Come on. This could be after.

[01:55:27]

Yeah.

[01:55:28]

Yeah, they're going to lose.

[01:55:29]

He's doing a bit. All right, well, Yanz, I got one last question. It's a robot question. Rho back.com promo code. Take 20% off your first purchase. Qzips, polos, hoodies joggers, shorts. Roback.com. How's the golf game right now? Are you in peak? Do you golf all summer in Florida? Because that's got to be miserable weather.

[01:55:46]

No, I go up to Nantucket in the summer. I'm not down here. I get out of. Yeah, it's way too hot. But, yeah, I play a decent amount in the summertime. Not as much as during the winter because I usually just play when the kids are in school.

[01:56:00]

How's the game going?

[01:56:02]

My game's probably the best it's. It's ever been. I'm playing well, steady. Right around, like, 77, 78. Every. Pretty much every.

[01:56:12]

That's pretty good. What do you think about Tigers brand's rollout yesterday? Did you like it?

[01:56:16]

His what?

[01:56:17]

The rollout of his brand. Tigers knew the logo and all that shit that everyone was pissed off about.

[01:56:23]

Yeah.

[01:56:24]

Wit said it looked like. What's that? It's like a chain fish door. Like a fish restaurant. Like fish bones or something.

[01:56:31]

Yeah.

[01:56:32]

Fish grill.

[01:56:33]

Yeah.

[01:56:33]

Booth.

[01:56:34]

It looked like that, which I was dying laughing at.

[01:56:37]

Yeah.

[01:56:38]

Yeah. I don't know. I don't love it, but I don't know.

[01:56:43]

Yeah, robacks way better.

[01:56:45]

How long. How long does it take you to get news because you're not online?

[01:56:48]

Like, how.

[01:56:49]

When did you find out OJ died? Did you find out when? When we said it on the podcast og the running back?

[01:56:57]

No, actually, my group chat with my buddies back home is probably where I get all my news.

[01:57:04]

That's scary.

[01:57:07]

And I'm one of those guys, like, I don't look stuff up. Like, I like to ask, like, you know, old school. Like, ask people.

[01:57:13]

Yeah.

[01:57:13]

Things up. So I like to ask people. So people lie. If I ask a question, someone could lie to me, and I just believe it.

[01:57:20]

Oh, shit.

[01:57:20]

We might have to start lying to the ends.

[01:57:22]

Yeah, we'll have to implant some news into you next time you're on the show.

[01:57:25]

Yeah, that's right.

[01:57:26]

Yeah.

[01:57:26]

Yeah. All right, well, Yan's will have you back on maybe cup final.

[01:57:31]

We also got to get you up.

[01:57:32]

Here to play some golf video.

[01:57:35]

Yeah, I told Hank you guys got to play Butler national. It's my favorite course in. In Chicago, but it's. It's an amazing track.

[01:57:44]

Yeah.

[01:57:44]

Then I looked it up, and it was, like, one of the most private clubs. You know, you gotta. You gotta know someone.

[01:57:48]

Well.

[01:57:48]

Yeah, yeah, we know Yance. He'll get us in.

[01:57:53]

As long as you're cocky about the. About the Bruins and the Celtics, I got you there.

[01:57:58]

It is.

[01:57:58]

There it is. All right, yans, thanks so much, man.

[01:58:02]

Yeah, thanks for having me, boys.

[01:59:07]

Yes.

[01:59:08]

I was having.

[01:59:09]

I was having.

[01:59:09]

Good.

[01:59:10]

Thank you.

[01:59:11]

Wearing a hat.

[01:59:13]

I am wearing a hat.

[01:59:14]

Point where I worked out this morning.

[01:59:16]

And haven't showered yet, so I'm still. I had to throw that on.

[01:59:19]

You look strong and working out.

[01:59:21]

I've been grinding.

[01:59:21]

Your legs look strong. Like they got some. Bouncing them.

[01:59:23]

Yeah.

[01:59:24]

Your body looks strong.

[01:59:25]

Turning into an athlete.

[01:59:26]

No one.

[01:59:27]

You say this is gaslighting.

[01:59:28]

No, being honest like you always are.

[01:59:32]

Yeah, that actually, we were gaslit.

[01:59:34]

Damn.

[01:59:34]

Yeah.

[01:59:35]

You look strong. You're gonna dunk in no time.

[01:59:36]

Yeah. And.

[01:59:37]

And Hank, he is so strong.

[01:59:39]

If I were Hank, I'd probably even quit training because he's already so strong. Probably to work out anymore.

[01:59:44]

What have we settled on the. We're gonna do that. The top the show?

[01:59:47]

Yeah, we already did.

[01:59:48]

Got it.

[01:59:48]

People already listening to it.

[01:59:50]

How do you think it went?

[01:59:53]

Well, you guys. You guys. You guys probably folded and listened to what everyone said, actually. I mean, listen.

[01:59:59]

Listen to everybody.

[02:00:00]

What?

[02:00:00]

Everyone?

[02:00:01]

Just do it right now.

[02:00:02]

No, no, because it's gonna be at the top of the show. We already talked about it.

[02:00:05]

What did everyone say?

[02:00:06]

I won't. I'm not.

[02:00:07]

I'm not gonna give away my hand.

[02:00:08]

Okay.

[02:00:09]

Magician never feels the secrets. But speaking of comments, and usually, you know, we're pretty elusive to comments don't let them get to me. But I wanted our YouTube the other day, and the top comment just said, hank feels like he has want to do the show in three years. Oh, that hurt my feelings.

[02:00:24]

That's not true.

[02:00:26]

You can't. You can't let. You can't let the comments get to you, because there's always. There's always someone who's gonna say something mean. Like, there's. There could be a hundred comments. One could be mean, 99 could be good. The only one you're gonna actually read is the one, and then it will ruin your day.

[02:00:43]

Well, it's usually like, you know, if it's in my own personal, you know, Twitter, Instagram, whatever. I'm used to just not, you know, filtering them out. It's when you catch a ricochet.

[02:00:50]

Yeah.

[02:00:51]

Like, you're not expecting.

[02:00:52]

You're not expecting what people say about the episode. It's like, the number one comment. Just like, hank looks like he hates doing the show. And I was like, what the fuck?

[02:00:59]

No, hey, that was Hank. If you've noticed Hank, he has not been cocky, Hank, and he's been having, like, you can see it on his face. He's not being honest with us and not being honest with you, the listener, by not fully embracing his confidence in his cockiness. And it's only three years.

[02:01:14]

We're talking three years.

[02:01:15]

Mechanism is to just go, mmm.

[02:01:17]

But hold on.

[02:01:19]

I blame not having a desk over here.

[02:01:21]

Oh.

[02:01:21]

Not knowing what to do.

[02:01:22]

We'll get you a desk. Let's unpack this, because, remember, we also had a month where you had to do your stand up special. So now we're down to two years, eleven months that you haven't wanted to do the show.

[02:01:32]

And then the whole lighthouse thing. The lighthouse affected him from. That was September through December.

[02:01:37]

Yeah, you can't. I have never felt like you don't want to do the show. Except for that time you asked us to not do the show anymore.

[02:01:43]

That was more than three years ago.

[02:01:44]

That was more than three years ago.

[02:01:47]

Actually, that was exactly three years ago when he said, I don't want to do the show anymore.

[02:01:50]

I also had to do a vlog for an ad where I said in the video that Hank does nothing and.

[02:01:56]

It does a lot.

[02:01:57]

To be fair to Hank, that was. That was. That was for the bit.

[02:01:59]

The full story behind Hank not wanting to do the show wasn't because he didn't like doing the show. It was because he want. Or the show is because you wanted to take on bigger responsibilities. Across the board. I've never know if you'd have time to do the show.

[02:02:12]

Yeah.

[02:02:12]

I just didn't like listening to my voice.

[02:02:13]

Yeah.

[02:02:14]

Really being honest when you had to edit yourself, I've never felt like you. You didn't want to do the show.

[02:02:19]

Yeah.

[02:02:20]

You can't. You can't let the comments get.

[02:02:23]

That was getting close to a.

[02:02:24]

But, no, I've never really, like, there's. I mean, there's. Listen, here's real talk. We've been doing the show for fucking long ass time now. Eight years. If you've been listening for eight years, there has been times when the show has been, like, humming. There's been times when it's dip.

[02:02:40]

There's.

[02:02:40]

It just goes in waves. Like, that's just what it is. Like, what other podcasts. There's not many podcasts with this many people who've been doing it for this long. Like, there's podcasts that have one person who does the show, and they have guests that, like, you know, I mean, like, that's a different dynamic. So I I've never felt like, oh, man, Hank hates us or doesn't want to be here.

[02:03:00]

No, I've definitely. I've thought that Hank hates us also.

[02:03:02]

I feel like we're in a great. We've been. We've been humming for a while now.

[02:03:06]

Yeah.

[02:03:06]

Like, I thought, I love coming to work every day. Like, there's.

[02:03:09]

I love doing the show.

[02:03:09]

If we're a stock market, there's been times when it's like, oh, okay. Yeah, dips a little bit. I feel like we've been rising for a while and do putting out great shows, so I don't know.

[02:03:18]

And, hank, I want to know you're appreciated, and. But also, I appreciate the comment section.

[02:03:24]

Of course.

[02:03:25]

I just love.

[02:03:25]

I love every single Internet comment out there.

[02:03:27]

The, like, God bless you guys. I also. I think that, like, we, as human beings, just weren't ready for the Internet as it exists today. Like, having people who are passionate about the show comment on every single, like, minutiae and try to look into every little, like, what do you mean by that? What do these guys know? We weren't built for that type of feedback, so you got to just kind of ignore it. Like, no human being's brain can handle that amount of feedback constantly coming at you.

[02:03:56]

I've said that for years, that the. The weird part about when the show took off and got big is that the human brain, it was not evolved for millions of people to have an opinion about you.

[02:04:06]

Yeah.

[02:04:06]

That's just not something that anyone has ever had to deal with until the last, like, maybe 3400 years on earth. So, yeah. Don't like it. Don't let get you down. Hey, down.

[02:04:17]

I just, you know, I gotta. I gotta. I don't know, pick it up somehow.

[02:04:19]

I love you like a brother.

[02:04:20]

Buy back in.

[02:04:21]

You dunk on those comments.

[02:04:22]

Yes. Family.

[02:04:22]

You guys are.

[02:04:23]

I mean, we're gonna get to a point, Hank, where. How old are you? 30. 30. So we still got a. A few years to go, but, like, there will be a point in the next six, seven years. It's like I've known you for half your life.

[02:04:38]

I said that the other day to someone and they kind of laughed at me, but I do believe it. Like, ten to twelve, you don't remember zero to ten or you're in no control. Like, you don't have any thoughts of your own. You're not doing what you want to do. Ten to 20, you know, you have what you like. You have your friends. You kind of make decisions. And obviously, like, you're still not in full control, but you're in more control of your life and interests.

[02:05:00]

And then.

[02:05:00]

So I have that, and then 20 to 30 has just been, you know, with you and bar.

[02:05:03]

Yeah.

[02:05:04]

So it feels like half my life.

[02:05:05]

Yeah.

[02:05:06]

Right. And so that's why also, when people try to, you know, not mentally get where they try to. What's the word I'm looking for? BFT? Help me manipulate. No, no, no. They try to leave.

[02:05:18]

Tricky. What are.

[02:05:18]

You know, they try to think of what you're thinking.

[02:05:21]

That's what I'm trying to do right now.

[02:05:22]

No, fuck. God damn it.

[02:05:25]

Tell it. Teleport.

[02:05:28]

I don't know what word you're looking for.

[02:05:29]

No, it's bad. So you're trying to think word.

[02:05:32]

What?

[02:05:32]

Trying to think of that.

[02:05:33]

Luminous. Tries to be like, this is what this person is thinking without knowing them. Fuck.

[02:05:41]

Placate.

[02:05:42]

No. Inception. No. God damn it. This is gonna be bad.

[02:05:46]

I'm not even trying to.

[02:05:47]

Put yourself in somebody else's shoe.

[02:05:48]

Shoes.

[02:05:49]

Yeah, but not really. You're trying to. Oh, man, this is bad.

[02:05:52]

I don't even know how you look that up.

[02:05:53]

Yeah, I don't know either. This is bad. Someone helped me. Someone get me back. Like, line. Yeah, this is Becky. Stan. God.

[02:06:02]

Definition again.

[02:06:03]

Like, when. When I went, if I'm watching someone else's podcast, I'm like, oh, this person feels this way, but we don't have any idea how they actually feel. We're trying to basically put, like, thoughts into their head. Yeah.

[02:06:16]

Empathy.

[02:06:17]

No, I typed in when someone feels empathy is the first thing that you're.

[02:06:23]

Projecting your own thoughts into their head.

[02:06:24]

Oh, yeah.

[02:06:25]

Whatever.

[02:06:26]

Either way, the point is someone will tell me what. What is rattling around in the little piece of brain that I have that works anyway. Allocate. People are going to try to be, like, the Hank's feeling this way from a little moment they watch when they don't realize that we have a ton of moments that they're not watching, that we are working together, friends, doing all these things, constantly communicating. So. And I'm not saying the person's wrong, because that's all they get, but if they saw the full picture, they would never think what they're thinking as that Hank doesn't want to do the show.

[02:07:05]

Yeah.

[02:07:06]

That was a. The least eloquent way I could ever put something.

[02:07:09]

It makes sense, though.

[02:07:10]

Yeah.

[02:07:11]

But now I'm trying to think of that word too.

[02:07:13]

I basically just did, like, four full back dives to get a first down. We're just ugly as fuck. Just running it right up the middle. And we got there. I think we moved the chains.

[02:07:24]

Word about what somebody is anticipating.

[02:07:29]

It'S. It's something specific. Someone's gonna tell me. They're like, I'm gonna feel like the dumbest person ever. Yeah, I mean, I had a moment earlier this week where I thought out. I thought out loud that we. The floors weren't invented till 1850. Floors? Floors.

[02:07:47]

What do you mean? Like, hardwood floors?

[02:07:49]

That's. That's it. That's.

[02:07:51]

There's nothing more to say about that, is it?

[02:07:54]

Anticipate what somebody else is saying.

[02:07:56]

Project oral sensory seeking.

[02:08:00]

I think I move on.

[02:08:01]

You're projecting.

[02:08:02]

Yeah.

[02:08:02]

Maybe project rejecting what you're thinking.

[02:08:04]

Yeah, maybe projecting. I don't know. Are your fire fest.

[02:08:07]

Pf. Yeah.

[02:08:07]

We love you, Hank. My view.

[02:08:08]

Hank.

[02:08:09]

My fire in the eye.

[02:08:10]

Love you guys.

[02:08:11]

Fuck. Thanks, Hank.

[02:08:12]

I fucking love you.

[02:08:13]

I love you too.

[02:08:14]

I'd fucking die for you.

[02:08:15]

I die for you too.

[02:08:16]

Maybe I wouldn't die for you.

[02:08:18]

I don't know. If I die for you, I would take. I would take, like, a bullet to the arm for you.

[02:08:24]

Someone else wanted to die for you guys instead of me. I'd be down to let them fasoli. But if it was.

[02:08:29]

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

[02:08:30]

I die for you, Hank. I die for all of you guys.

[02:08:32]

Thanks.

[02:08:33]

Really?

[02:08:33]

Yep.

[02:08:34]

Fuck.

[02:08:35]

I.

[02:08:35]

You know what? I'd fucking die for you guys.

[02:08:37]

I just die for Hank.

[02:08:38]

Oh, not us, man.

[02:08:40]

Memes.

[02:08:40]

Who would you die for? I kill for you guys.

[02:08:43]

Oh, respect.

[02:08:45]

That's what I'm talking about. Means my dog.

[02:08:47]

Yeah.

[02:08:48]

All right, so we got a couple people. Darren Ravel. Who else we got?

[02:08:54]

Well, I was going to say OJ, but nature took care of that.

[02:08:56]

Yeah, maybe it was memes.

[02:08:57]

Yeah.

[02:08:58]

Thanks, memes.

[02:08:58]

Thank you, memes. Hat tip, memes.

[02:09:00]

All right.

[02:09:01]

Your fire fest, bft.

[02:09:02]

My fyre fest is, again, Blake related, because I just found out yesterday we've. He's had his shoulder problems, right. And I'm like, what's going on with this dog? He can't walk. He's limping around. We gave him rest. He's just been chilling. Still limping around. Took him in yesterday for a CT scan, CAT scan, which is ironic because he's a dog, but they scanned him, and his shoulder is fine, but both of his elbows are messed up. So he's getting double elbow surgery.

[02:09:29]

What?

[02:09:30]

Next Thursday, Tommy John. He's getting double Tommy John.

[02:09:32]

Holy.

[02:09:33]

Next Thursday, Jeff Passon needs to, like, is it overuse? Is it the uniforms? What is it? Was he not trained as a young dog to play other sports besides jumping?

[02:09:43]

So what is double elbow surgery?

[02:09:45]

Look, so I thought about that. I was like, is he going to have, like, casts on each arm where he's gonna be in his cast in a front wheelchair?

[02:09:51]

Yeah.

[02:09:52]

So apparently it's like.

[02:09:53]

It's scope.

[02:09:54]

So they say he's gonna walk out of the hospital that day, clean something up, but then it's just. Yeah, it's a cleanup, sir. Like, mark Pryor had seven of those turned out fine.

[02:10:02]

Yeah.

[02:10:02]

So Blake is gonna be on not necessarily bed rest, but just, like, walking around rest. No running rest for almost the whole summer. But then he should be good after that. But, yeah, he's gonna come home from the hospital with two big, like, soft casts on each arm. Double elbow surgery is a crazy thing to go under. There's some. Somebody in a tv show I feel like broke both their arms.

[02:10:23]

Are you thinking of Ricky Bobby?

[02:10:24]

Yeah.

[02:10:24]

Ricky Bobby.

[02:10:25]

Yeah. Yeah.

[02:10:26]

That was both his legs.

[02:10:27]

His legs, yeah.

[02:10:28]

And they weren't actually broken.

[02:10:29]

Yeah, but that's dogs arms are kind of legs, too.

[02:10:32]

Yeah, it's like the old, where would dog wear pants?

[02:10:34]

Yeah. Yeah.

[02:10:35]

I would assume that it would be around the neck.

[02:10:37]

Right.

[02:10:37]

Because they're all. They're all legs.

[02:10:40]

Yeah, they're all legs. All four legs.

[02:10:42]

They have four legs. They don't have. That's good.

[02:10:44]

That's good that you're not doing this surgery before your Kentucky Derby party, that would have sucked for Blake.

[02:10:47]

It's really good. Yeah, Blake's going. This is last hurrah.

[02:10:50]

Yeah.

[02:10:50]

He's going to jam out.

[02:10:51]

It's his bachelor party.

[02:10:52]

Yeah.

[02:10:52]

So anything that you need your dog to do, two legs, let me know what I should do with Blake in his last week on his original legs.

[02:10:58]

It's crazy.

[02:10:59]

Double double elbow surgery at the same time, which is good, because if it was one elbow and then another elbow, like, six months later.

[02:11:07]

Yeah.

[02:11:07]

You'd be like, fuck this. I don't want to go through rehab again.

[02:11:09]

I already know this. I'm not doing it.

[02:11:11]

That's the other thing. I got to take him. I got to put him on, like, underwater treadmills and get him rehab.

[02:11:14]

That rocks.

[02:11:15]

Yeah.

[02:11:15]

He's gonna have you have a blast.

[02:11:17]

You got to get a GoPro to get video of it.

[02:11:18]

Yeah, I should.

[02:11:19]

Yeah.

[02:11:20]

All right. My fyre fest is. I've talked to Hank and PFt about this, and it's not a fyre fest. It's a I have a funny content idea that's not funny at all. Firefights fest. My daughter's class has lice. Lice outbreak. She does not. We've checked every single day, but it's crazy how fast the lice just goes around like a preschool. It was like, boom, boom. Oh, it's in this classroom. Oh, no, it's in this. Oh, it's literally everywhere. Either way. Don't have lice in my house. Thank God. Knock on wood. Checked every day. No license. But when I was telling PFt and Hank, it did dawn on me that it would be very funny if we had a lice outbreak here at Barstool Chicago. So funny how? I don't know. I haven't. That's why I have the idea. I have the idea. I don't know where. How it gets to make money and have everyone laugh, but the idea is get a lice outbreak in the office.

[02:12:20]

So I swear to God, I forgot about this conversation that we had a couple days ago. It isn't. There's a. There's a nugget of a good idea in there somewhere.

[02:12:27]

Yeah.

[02:12:27]

You're how to present.

[02:12:28]

I know, Hank.

[02:12:29]

That's what you want to do, right?

[02:12:30]

That's.

[02:12:30]

That's why you wanted to leave part of my take for good three years ago. This isn't.

[02:12:34]

This is race.

[02:12:35]

This.

[02:12:35]

We gotta talk out the idea.

[02:12:37]

Great idea.

[02:12:38]

As head of content, you have to figure us how. You have to help us figure out how to turn this little nugget into a great package presentation that's fully sponsored.

[02:12:46]

Just think of that thumbnail.

[02:12:47]

That thumbnail. Yeah.

[02:12:50]

Like, license means barstool sports. It's so funny with, like, nickname smokes, like a scared.

[02:12:57]

You know, we needed. What happened if you get bad lice?

[02:12:59]

What?

[02:12:59]

Actually, shampoo. If there's a shampoo for, like, worst.

[02:13:02]

Case scenario, say you didn't know you had lice.

[02:13:04]

No.

[02:13:04]

You know, untreated lice. You know, because you scratch.

[02:13:07]

What I was gonna say is I completely forgot about this conversation with you. I woke up this morning, swear to God, my head was super itchy.

[02:13:16]

Oh.

[02:13:16]

And I spent all morning just scratching my head. Took a shower, shampooed.

[02:13:20]

Didn't.

[02:13:20]

Didn't look for any lice or anything. But now I'm worried because I had an abnormally itchy head.

[02:13:26]

You might have lice.

[02:13:27]

Do you want to look?

[02:13:28]

No, I don't.

[02:13:29]

Yeah. Yeah. All right, go. You look. You look.

[02:13:31]

No, you look.

[02:13:32]

I said you look fine glass.

[02:13:36]

I said let's figure it out.

[02:13:38]

I swear to God, my head was super itchy this morning. I'm not joking.

[02:13:45]

All right.

[02:13:45]

Big cats looking through the matching hoodies.

[02:13:48]

This is nice visual.

[02:13:49]

We're like a couple monkeys picking bugs off each other.

[02:13:52]

No, I.

[02:13:53]

Am I clean?

[02:13:53]

No, you have dandruff.

[02:13:55]

I've dandruff?

[02:13:56]

Yeah.

[02:13:56]

You know, the same color.

[02:13:57]

Yeah.

[02:13:57]

No, you have dandruff. You dandruff. You need the dandruff shampoo.

[02:14:00]

I have dandruff.

[02:14:01]

Dandruff shampoo.

[02:14:02]

I've never had dandruff.

[02:14:03]

Yeah, yeah, you just have dandruff. Some dry skin.

[02:14:06]

I've got arreck. If.

[02:14:08]

Yeah, dangerous is perfectly fine. Normal.

[02:14:11]

Um, yeah, just use some. Use some, uh, sell some blue.

[02:14:15]

Well, that's, uh. That's a load off my back, because for about 30 seconds there, I thought.

[02:14:19]

No, yeah, you don't.

[02:14:20]

I was putting the pieces together.

[02:14:21]

I didn't see any bugs. It's just some danger. Um, so, yeah, back to the lice. How do we do it? I think maybe we need to get a sandbox and make everyone bring, uh, backpacks every day, because that's lice. Go. They can survive in sand. That's how it happens a lot with, like, you know, kindergarten and all that stuff.

[02:14:39]

Yeah.

[02:14:39]

So maybe that's what we do. And then I'll get the lice in a jar. No, I'll put them in my head.

[02:14:45]

Your head.

[02:14:46]

And then I'll be patient zero, and I'll. I'll just pass it around and we'll be like, yeah.

[02:14:51]

Think about thumb happened when COVID happens.

[02:14:53]

Kind of like maybe like a mister beast type video. Like, yeah, right in the knock at lice wins, right?

[02:14:58]

Yes. Yeah, yeah.

[02:15:00]

Life survivor.

[02:15:01]

I wonder if we could die the lice so we could see him, like, more clearly.

[02:15:05]

Day glow. Yeah, we just replace all the lights with uv lights.

[02:15:09]

Someone figure out how to get from office gets lice to make money. Funny.

[02:15:15]

Yeah.

[02:15:16]

Let us know. Sound off in the comments.

[02:15:20]

What? Max?

[02:15:20]

You got. Max has something.

[02:15:22]

No, this is just so random that I don't. You brought up uv lights.

[02:15:25]

Did you see that?

[02:15:26]

There's a college baseball team that's just doing a complete uv. Baseball, you? Baseball game with a black light.

[02:15:32]

No.

[02:15:32]

Glow in the. Glow in the dark uniforms and balls.

[02:15:36]

Savannah bananas.

[02:15:37]

No, I'll say it. Black lights suck.

[02:15:40]

Yeah. Okay.

[02:15:40]

Because I don't come in my pants, but I always. When I see a black light, I'm like, did I come in my pants?

[02:15:46]

Oh, yeah. In, like, a hotel room.

[02:15:48]

Yeah. No.

[02:15:48]

Or like, a bowling alley. I go to a bowl. A black light bowling alley. And you're like, I don't. I don't remember ever coming in my pants, but who put this come on my pants?

[02:15:56]

I. I think from time to time, black lights are. Black lights matter to me.

[02:16:01]

Oh, this is actually awesome.

[02:16:02]

Yeah, it is.

[02:16:03]

That it? That does look cool.

[02:16:04]

This is very cool. But do you guys not have the same fear whenever you go to, like, a black light bowling alley? You know. You know that there's not a problem. Spill, guy. There could be a problem. Yeah, this is very cool. We should do a black light. Pardon my take. Yeah, there's probably come in this studio or something.

[02:16:23]

You think anyone's fucked in the studio?

[02:16:24]

No, I have not.

[02:16:26]

I have not.

[02:16:27]

Pug.

[02:16:28]

I have not. I have not.

[02:16:29]

I've not.

[02:16:30]

Puget Pug is not here to answer memes.

[02:16:33]

Oh.

[02:16:34]

A lot of people been in this office.

[02:16:36]

Memes. Memes. Definitely has.

[02:16:39]

Okay.

[02:16:40]

Jake finishes off.

[02:16:41]

Yeah.

[02:16:41]

On a similar note, I've also lice.

[02:16:43]

Yeah, I've been itchy this week, but.

[02:16:45]

It'S because I got freaking disturbed. Destroyed by mosquitoes.

[02:16:49]

Yeah.

[02:16:49]

Crushed marks to show it.

[02:16:51]

It was really bad.

[02:16:53]

No bug spray after the first day. Learned your lesson late, j?

[02:16:58]

Are you one of those guys who's, like, bugs for some reason? Like me more than ever, yes. My blood.

[02:17:04]

Yeah.

[02:17:04]

Remember that time we went to.

[02:17:06]

Oh, sorry.

[02:17:06]

Disk golf.

[02:17:07]

I know that.

[02:17:08]

No, Frisbee golf.

[02:17:09]

Fuck that.

[02:17:09]

We say whatever we want.

[02:17:10]

We went on Long island.

[02:17:11]

And we got billion to have.

[02:17:13]

Yeah.

[02:17:13]

Billy got Alpha gal.

[02:17:14]

Yeah.

[02:17:15]

It was so bad.

[02:17:16]

Yeah, similar to that.

[02:17:18]

Bugs. Yeah, the. The. That sucks. He missed the first day. Like, the first day with the bug spray.

[02:17:25]

Because I'll be back next week and I'll be prepared.

[02:17:27]

I like a good bug bite.

[02:17:29]

How many did you. Did you kill, Jake?

[02:17:31]

What was that? Max?

[02:17:33]

That's just a horrible.

[02:17:34]

Yeah.

[02:17:34]

Bug bites.

[02:17:35]

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.

[02:17:36]

I agree.

[02:17:37]

I don't like a lot of bug bites. No, you don't want any, but one or two good bug bites and you can itch it. I kind of like.

[02:17:44]

Yeah.

[02:17:44]

But then you.

[02:17:45]

It starts bleeding and the scabs and the scars come.

[02:17:47]

I'd rather have three bug bites than one where I'm. If you have one, then that's all you're thinking about.

[02:17:51]

Like, well, if on each arm, if.

[02:17:53]

You have one, you just assume it was a spider that bit you in the spider bite. Yeah, I'd like a good bug bite. Just a good. Just a good old fashioned bug bite. Like, maybe on the top of your shin, nice little spot. You can scratch it a little. I feel like no one. No one's. No one's with me.

[02:18:10]

I feel like you might be in an island.

[02:18:12]

Mosquito bites and lice and be like, what was I thinking? But no one's with me.

[02:18:15]

All right.

[02:18:15]

No, you might be. That might be a little, like, s amp m thing where it's like, a little bit of pain.

[02:18:19]

Feels good.

[02:18:19]

Just one.

[02:18:20]

Sometimes feeling bad feels like watching great in a place like this.

[02:18:23]

Yeah, blood. Yeah, one good bug bite. I don't want a lot anything more than a couple. And you're just like, this fucking sucks. I can't believe I forgot to put on bug spray. What Jake's going through right now, but a single bug bite on the top of your shin, there's a little itch. Not so bad.

[02:18:38]

I'll give you some of my blood, and maybe they'll come find you.

[02:18:40]

We'll do a blood transfusion, get some.

[02:18:42]

Of that young blood. Yeah, yeah, we should do it.

[02:18:45]

We should blacklight blood transfusion with lice.

[02:18:47]

And then we should make all our younger employees get their blood to us.

[02:18:50]

This is.

[02:18:51]

This feels like an extra fest. Today has just been an extended brainstorming session.

[02:18:55]

Yeah, it's been good to go.

[02:18:57]

Okay.

[02:18:57]

Nice thing. I do think that we can work with.

[02:19:00]

Yes. Thank you. I.

[02:19:01]

Because I remember when I initially said it, you're like, that's a bad idea. I'm happy that you've seen the.

[02:19:04]

I think you get two teams and then see which one can get fully.

[02:19:07]

Covered in lice for a game of tag with lice.

[02:19:10]

Lice cross.

[02:19:10]

Yeah. Yeah.

[02:19:12]

Lice are so grub. Memory Travis just willing. He said his kids had lice.

[02:19:16]

Oh, yeah.

[02:19:16]

Because he was mad at the airline.

[02:19:18]

Yeah.

[02:19:18]

For not letting him fly.

[02:19:19]

Siding with the airline.

[02:19:20]

Yeah.

[02:19:20]

Only time ever. Okay, good show, boys. Numbers 826.

[02:19:29]

18.

[02:19:31]

What number is lice?

[02:19:32]

Three.

[02:19:34]

What numbers?

[02:19:35]

99.

[02:19:36]

Poke, 21. Ten to 15. I'll go 1010.

[02:19:45]

Any.

[02:19:45]

Any questions you want to ask?

[02:19:49]

What?

[02:19:50]

Is there a question you'd like to ask somebody?

[02:19:53]

Wow. Pug.

[02:19:55]

Pft.

[02:19:55]

Have you ever got this?

[02:19:57]

Oh, no, I was just asked Pug and shave. They fucked in the studio. Is that what you're talking about? Yeah, Pug. Shane, if you fucked in the studio.

[02:20:07]

No, not yet. Okay.

[02:20:09]

Nice. Max, have you ever gotten this?

[02:20:12]

Nope. We have to add you to the wall of fame.

[02:20:15]

Good answer, buddy. I would like to be added to the wall of fame.

[02:20:26]

75.

[02:20:27]

75.

[02:20:44]
