The Maritimes themselves, you'd have to have three or four provinces essentially support at Newfoundland, PEI, New Brunswick, and of course, Nova Scotia, all being major supporters. You want to sell all those platinum seats at outrageous prices that really only corporations can buy, because that's really only where it makes sense. The reason that those corporate seats are there and the reason they'll spend money on them is they can write them off. That's taxable income that goes to them and it doesn't go to Justin Trudeau. And they're thrilled about that. My point is we've given you the money. We've accepted that our barn isn't as exciting because as fans, we understand that that's happening. We've given you all the resources. I'm sorry It comes back to the team. It comes back to management. It comes back to how this has all been put together, which is if I can guarantee... The reason why Boston fans are dancing in the aisles is because they've won before. It's because they've been good for a long time. And yes, they haven't won a Cup since 2011, but they've been to the finals.

They regularly win one or two rounds. Last year was such a story because they didn't win. Honestly, Boston fans are confident. As a Leef fan, do you know what that feels like? And is that your fault? I don't think so.

The only thing against the winning argument is that there are plenty of places around the league that have much better atmospheres. Currently, every Canadian team in the playoffs has much better atmospheres, and none of them have won anything.

So this is what I was going to ask. The closest comparable I can think of, a team that has had basically exclusively heartbreak. They're a little on edge. They haven't been in the playoffs for a while. They got a lot of corporate backing. That's Vancouver.

Who have just a terrific atmosphere for these two games.

I get mad when fans get blamed for literally something that the multibillion dollar company that owns them dead. Now, I saw some people say, Hey, what if they didn't do the platinum seat thing in the playoffs? Well, so I would ask you, if you're a corporation, let's say you're a big time corporation, you're a big time lawyer, like somebody from Suits, and you're like, Yeah, my firm, we got four seats in the platinum section, and we're going to bring clients and be cool like the guys in Suits, or you're a finance bro, it doesn't matter. Interchangeable. People who have those seats you're very lucky, I'm very jealous of you. What would be the impetus for them to buy those seats if they didn't get access to the playoffs? Because they do pay extra. The way it works is you buy an 82-game package, which is actually 41 games, and they ask you to give up. I think they ask you to give up the seat.

There's some thing for the next-gen game, which is where all the kids come. But essentially, you get first dibs on the payoff tickets. Again, most corporations are buying this at a rate that is so outrageously expensive, the only way that you can justify it is a corporate write-off. So the whole thing is the Toronto Maple Lefs, when they hit game 82, they're finished paying the players. The players don't get paid anymore by the Lefs. They now get paid by the NHL for advancing into the playoffs. There are payoff bonuses that the NHL issues. And so all the money that they make off of tickets in the postseason, and this is the same for every team, is pure profit. Pure profit, except for what it costs to run the arena and run concessions and all that stuff. You're just printing money. That's why making the playoffs for a lot of teams is so important. Even if you'll see it with small market teams, they'll just go for it. You'll be like, Why are they going for it? They really should rebuild. Well, they don't want to have a position. They don't want to be in a position like Anaheim or San Jose, where they're super gate-reliant teams.

By gate, I mean tickets. Nobody's coming because they're not going to win for years. These platinum seats people, they are funding the outrageous amount of analytics and pro-scouting and all the other amateur scouting staff that the Toronto Maple leaves have. In a way, it's a good thing. Like I said in the video, I'm willing to make that trade out. But you got to give me as a fan what you promise me, which are wins. So forgive me for being a little anxious. And hey, there's only so many of us fans in there because when corporate people When they're out with clients, they're not going to cheer and root and scream and take their shirts off and swing them in the air. You know what I mean? They're not going to do that. They're going to be like, I'm with my client. I hope they have a fun time. We're going to talk the whole game. I think there isn't a lot you can take away from this series if you're the Dallas stars because they played well last night, and they ran up against the best defensively coached team in the National Hockey League. Just looking at some of the numbers that were in the game from the game last night, they They had 11 shots in the first period, 10 the rest of the way. In the last five minutes, while the Golden Nights were up by one goal, they did not allow a single shot on goal.

That's crazy.

The score effects of hockey are supposed to work in the opposite direction. When you are down, the other team has more chances. And with the Vegas Golden Nights, they were down one goal. It's It's not even like they were up by a million. It's not even like they were up by a million. And they didn't allow Dallas to get a shot on goal for the last five minutes of the game. That is just an impenetrable defense that you just can't get through. And if you're Dallas, you're happy with your game, and you just can't get through them because they're just a little bit better.

And it's not like Logan Thompson has been unbelievable. He was very solid last night. Obviously, he only allowed one bloody goal. But game one, he was very beatable.

But why has it especially lately been that Every DLC, update, whatever, it's like, Buggy, buggy, buggy, we got a patch. Why is it that every time I buy Formula One with early access, it doesn't work properly for the first three months? I'm not buying the F1 game until I know that it's good. I'm one of those people that's not buying early access on anything anymore because A, it doesn't make sense. Do I need to play it three days early? No. I probably won't even get to play it three days early. I'm a dad. It's just what happens, man.

You just don't have the time. I also run a company with my friends. We got to work. I don't know, man. I'm annoyed right now with the state of video games. Some of them are so good. Like, Helldivers, obviously incredible. I pay attention to Helldivers for the updates, and I don't even own it. That's how cool that game is. Anyway, it's They rush these games out. Helldivers is the perfect example of exactly what a community wants. Listen to the community, give them what they want, keep it simple, make it fun. It doesn't have to be that complicated.
