I'm looking at YouTube and I'm not seeing us. Yeah, people are calling us late. Huh? Are we live? Oh, there we go. Are we live? Okay. You know what? I was just talking for a bit, and I don't know if anybody heard me. Hi, everybody. Hi. How's everybody? There he is. There he is. Yeah, we weren't live. I don't know what happened. I actually was... I've been talking for two minutes. I'm not really sure what happened. But hi, everybody. Welcome to All Canada Friday, except for the leaves, but let's ignore them for a bit. Knux and Preds, we got Edmonton, and we got LA, and then, of course, we got Winnipeg, and we got the Avalanche. Now, we're doing this series, mostly because we need to see the Preds go down. Go down in flames. Although, I've been honest, it's going to be pretty loud in Tennessee tonight. That barn is a heck of a place to see a hockey game. I'm just looking up at it right now. The refs are out, just reffing. I also think, by the way, that Nashville's the cat that they skate out under, the predator. The leaves need to look at doing something like that.

[00:01:10]

Is there a gigantic leaf that they could skate out under? I know it's less of a hit, but I think it's still pretty cool that Nashville does that. Listen, we got three series tied, one all. If we're cheering for Canada, if we're excited about Canada, we're going to need everybody to win tonight. I really didn't think LA had a hope in health to win any game in this series. And look at them. Look at them. They're a pretty good game. Nashville and Vancouver. The keys tonight, by the way, I think. I think you're going to have to figure out, if you're Vancouver, how to break the Nashville stranglehold. Because you figured it out on game one, right? Game two, though, and actually game one, they limit those shots. They limit those opportunities. And we got to make sure that it's happening today. Happy Friday, everybody. Listen, Maddie is our producer tonight. So can I just say, can we get a little in the chat for Mad Dog? All right? Mad Dog is here. It's Friday night. She could have been partying. She's in her early 20s. You But no, she's here with you and me, and we're having a good time.

[00:02:19]

I'm curious about what you guys think about how Patterson has been so far, because I watch the games without the sound, and I know there was some pretty big tweets about him from Ryan Whitney, I think, tweeted about him, and Knux fans are a little bit on him. But I felt like there were three shots that easily in the last game could have gone in. Let's say he gets two of them because he's Petterson, or even one of them. Are we having the same conversations? A lot of people saying Nathan says not good enough. Hawks Hawks 23 says Nicks in three. I don't know if it works that way, Hawks, but man, the Nicks fans are just unbelievable. They're so much fun to watch. So I want to know what you guys think of Petterson so far. What's he need to do tonight to get some space and score some goals? Because that line is important. Cassie, you don't need to know. What's up, Adam? How goes it? Can we get a vibe check? Well, listen, we can't get a vibe check unless we're all in on the vibe check. So now Maddie, repeat that.

[00:03:31]

What did you say? Maddie saying the vibes are here. How are the vibes for you? Steeson Schiller, Mad Dog, for two bucks. Thank you for that super chat. A little $2 super chat dedicated to the Mad Dog. I want to ask you guys this. This is important. All right, let's figure this out. What does Petterson need to do to get everybody off his back tonight? Now, we've had a little bit of that Toronto. We had a little bit of the Mitch Marder thing in Toronto. We all know Mitch Marder is a spectacular player, and we all know the playoffs are a tough time to play hockey, and especially if you're the Leaps, playing hockey is difficult in the playoffs for the Leaps. I don't know if you've known this, But they haven't had a lot of success in the playoffs. What can Vancouver do to get Petterson going? Because really, the only way to break the defensive lock that the Coyotes have is to get that line going. Brock Besser, JT Miller, Elias Patterson. It's a big deal. Petty should focus on D. Really? You think so? Hello from Port St. Lucy, Florida. Hello, Joe.

[00:04:41]

Thanks for joining us. He's lost his confidence. He's got nerves from the pressure. I'm wondering if tonight, sometimes when you're in the other team's building, so I've heard, because frankly, I've never played at this level, people booing you fires you up, gets you excited, and you know you're the villain. So maybe he can become a little bit of a villain tonight. Maybe he can be the thing that the fans hate from Nashville because he's crushing it so hard. Steven T, do the Knucks have the worst luck in the NHL? You know, Steven, I'm not sure because I think they've been pretty good this year. Did they not just win the division? I think we got a great luck on a curve. By the way, thank you to DapperDuck for gifting five SDPN memberships. You guys can all check out SDP VIP. And SDP VIP ad free is also sweet. You got to check that out, too. All the episodes, ad-free. Is it true that Nashville isn't allowing anyone from outside of Tennessee to go to games? So I've read that. There's so many ways around that. Buffalo tried that a couple of seasons ago, I think, when the least were coming into town.

[00:05:44]

And they forgot completely that a good chunk of Southern Ontario are Sabers fans. It just doesn't work. Now, Nashville has got a bit of a different situation. I don't think I've ever heard anybody accuse preds fans of not showing up. Preds fans are there. So I don't really feel like they need to have the protective, Oh, no, you can't come see here if you're from Vancouver. I just don't see that. And look at that. If you look at the crowd, I'm looking at the crowd shot right now. The Anthems are going. They're all Preds jerseys. And as a Lee fan, everybody's wearing a jersey, not a suit. How crazy. It's crazy. I do think that it's probably true, but the way get around it is you buy from Scalpers, or you buy from Resale, and there's official resale on Ticket Master. Not that you love buying from Scalpers, but they serve a purpose sometimes. Sometimes that's how you got to get it. Okay, I'm just going to look through some of the chat here. Knux, they always get hurt in the playoffs. That's from Isabella, since forever. Well, okay. Again, I'm going to ask you, you know who I cheer for?

[00:06:56]

Whose team has been to the Stanley Cup finals in their lifetime, and whose team hasn't? Vancouver, in my lifetime, has gone twice. Toronto has been to the third round five times in my lifetime. That's as far as we get. It's a bummer. We got to make sure that this changes eventually. We're talking about Vancouver tonight. Now, again, okay, fine, you get injured. Casey De Smith, not bad in the last game, I don't think. I didn't see any goals where I was like, Oh, that's Casey De Smith's fault. I think that the predators were opportunity optimistic. And I think the reason they got Casey De Smith this year is just in case Thatcher Demko went down. Now, Sarah Sivian's report of Thatcher Demko potentially being done for the playoffs, it sucks. But you're here and you got to try to win. And I think you got to look at a team like Pittsburgh. Be honest, in 2017, how many of you really knew who Matt Murray was? Did you know Matt Murray? Were you familiar with Matt Murray's stats? No, because he was Marc-Andre Fleury's backup. And you may have vaguely heard him or something like that, but it wasn't a huge, Oh, wow, this Matt Murray guy.

[00:08:08]

I've been saying that forever. Nobody had a hot take about Matt Murray. Oh, Dakota Joshua just pushing somebody off the face off here. By the way, I'm going to clap for the opening face off because we are starting very soon. And the ref's dropping the buck, and hopefully, he actually drops it. There we go. And the game starts. All right. Friday night. We're all hanging out together. This is lovely. Hi, everybody. Cassie, you need to know, penguins have three cups in my lifetime. Yeah, I know. I know you do. I know. And also, in my lifetime, the penguins have five cups. I guess that means, Cassie, you're a lot younger than I am. Can't forget about '91, '92. Or is it '92, '93? I think it was '93. Yeah, anyway, they were really good. They were really, really good. Yeah, '91, '92. Here we go. So again, we're looking for Vancouver to do a couple of things here. Quick breakouts, okay? They can use their speed, get around Nashville. Don't let them get set up. That's one thing. Number two, you got to be opportunistic with your shots. You can't... Jesse made a good point.

[00:09:18]

We're talking about it on the podcast the other day. Pederson's almost goal that was on that tough angle, you got to score that. You got to score that. Playoffs are not about expected goals. They're about actual goals. And as much as expected goals are nice later, and go, Hey, that line had a good night. Better than I thought. If they didn't convert, it really doesn't matter. And that's the point here. So what do we got here? 91, 92 versus North Star. Yeah. Montreal in '93. That's right. And then New York, 94, and then New Jersey, 95. And then Colorado, 96. And then Detroit, 97, 98. And then Dallas, 99. That's right. I remember Adam, Jessie would use the clap sound effect. Have you thought of doing that? You know what? There is that... Jessie's got a hot... Here we go. Oh, Makea is offside. Jessie's got one of those hot key things where he can fire it off and whatever. Now, here's my thing. I am not very technically capable, and I need to sit down with Jesse for an hour and actually go through what it is to... That was a big hit on Quinn Hughes.

[00:10:21]

Yeah, that didn't feel good. Although, maybe Quinn Hughes isn't hurt. He just looks sad always. He's got sad resting face. Jared P, why is Nashville in the Western Conference? Well, Jared P, I don't know that... I don't know they necessarily will be forever. You never know. Maybe they expand twice in the West and Nashville goes to the East. Who knows? I mean, Toronto used to be in the Western Conference, for goodness' sakes. It's just a funny part about the NHL. Lots of travel. What are you going to do? All right, so Mekaev line on. This is We're about two and a half minutes in. This is the first time that really Vancouver has gained the zone. I don't love this start. Not that it's bad, but I was hoping they'd come out and be dominant. Is that unfair? It might But I was hoping they'd come out with a shot out of a cannon. Teddy Blueger line, here we go. The preds are doing a good job of just taking the buck back. Oh, there's a shot, our first of the Not really. I don't even think that was going to go in, but DeSmith's shot.

[00:11:33]

It saved it anyway. Okay, what are we saying, chat? What are we saying? So Grizzly says, Yo, show the game, dog. Yo, Grizzly, do you have 6.2 billion dollars? Oh, you don't. Oh, yeah, see, that's what it costs to show the game. Nobody who can do a side cast without billions of dollars showing that game. You can't do it. You have to own the rights to the NHL feed. And yeah. Xalt is asking, who's winning this coaching battle so far? I think that's... Man, it's split, but I'm going to give the edge to Andrew Burnet, because even in game one, Vancouver had way less shots than they should have. Nashville has looked more like Nashville than I would say Vancouver has looked like Vancouver. Does that make sense? I think that Nashville It's such a simple game. Straight lines, tough, blocking a bazillion shots, even if they don't have possession. I think Andrew Burnet is playing them properly. He's playing the Vancouver connects the only way that Nashville is going to win. Okay, so Nashville has had a really, I think good start. Here we go. We got an opportunity. Oh, you should have shot.

[00:12:48]

How is that not a goal? Ryan O'Reilly absolutely robbed there. Or did he miss? Okay, I can't wait to see the replay on that one. Ryan O'Reilly, I actually have to as a guy who loved him on the leaves for the short time he was here, awful dangerous in the playoff. There he goes again. Oh, another save. That's two Ryan O'Reilly scoring chances in 30 seconds. See, this is what I was worried about with Vancouver. I wanted them to come out the way Nashville has come out. Okay, here we go. Here we go. Okay, I'm looking at this and I'm thinking, Oh, there's Nyquist. There's Forrest. There's Forrestberg. Here we go. This line is putting serious pressure on him. Wow. Look at this. It's the Di Giuseppe. Lafferty-lindhoven line. Not a great start. Okay. Mr. Sousie, if you're going to whack that puck, really whack it. Hit it. There we go. We got to change. We got to change. Let's see what Vancouver can do. Oh, big. Okay. All right, all right. Thought it was going to be a bigger hit than that, but it was all right. By the way, if you're if you're just tuning in, we're at 15:06.

[00:14:10]

Oh, that's Natalie gifting 10 SDPN memberships. I'm pretty sure that's my Natalie, as in my wife. So welcome to SDPN VIP, everybody. Very excited. Thanks, Natalie. She's always tuning in from home. Just check it in I'm sure she'll figure out something else to watch at some point. She has to listen to me talk all the time. We got a little dust up here. This is what you want. But here's where... So Luke Shen's got two guys, two guys by the scruff of the neck, and he is handling them both pretty well. Handling them both pretty well. You expect this from the Keefer Sherwood line. You expect this when Luke Shen's out there. Zdorov is so big. Yo, Shen actually next to Zdorov. Not as big. I don't know what I'm not really sure what the rest of these guys are going to do here. It's Luke Shen. He's big. Conor Garland, respect. Love the mustache. Looks great. Yeah, you're not winning that one. You need Zdorov in on that one. To everybody that got their VIP memberships, you can shout out my wife. She supportive. Yeah, that was bad. The Sousie thing, what was that?

[00:15:32]

What were we doing there? Come on, Carson, you were supposed to have good hand eye. Dakota Joshua. Big hit. Man, he's been a factor in this series. Either way, that guy's getting a lot of money at the end of the season. So is that... Okay, I'm not really sure. Again, I don't have a sound on. I could see how that could be a penalty, but it's also the playoffs. If you watch the playoffs any regularity. You can't tell me that that's a penalty call in a game five or a six or a seven. There's no way. There's no way. Oh, Tucket's pissed. He should be. In my opinion, Nashville fans, if you're here, I'm not trying to be biased against you, but even you know that is not a playoff call. You've watched a lot of playoff hockey. I don't think so. I don't think so. Rick It looks like he's going to shoot lasers through. Okay, so they called the major so they can review it. See what happens. See what happens. Adam, does SDP have to pay taxes on Natalie's gift? I don't think so. I don't know how that works. I have no idea how that works.

[00:16:50]

If there's any accountants in the chat, you let us know. I don't know. Yeah, it's a tough hit. I don't know. That feels like a playoff hit to me. I know Zdorow's just losing his mind right now. I'm watching this. I don't know, guys. Do you think that's a hit? I've seen 20 of those this offseason or this postseason. Nhl TV won't let me in. I rely on your commentary. Crash test fetus. Well, it sounds like it's time to sail the seven seas, my friend. Just put the game on mute. By the way, if everybody wants to line everything up, it's 15:03 that we're stuck at. 15:03. Are we serious? Reduced to a minor. Still shouldn't. So they called the major. Okay, so for the refs, I'll give them credit. That was the right thing to do. You call the major and then you look at it. Don't have a problem with that. Still don't understand the penalty. I don't. That's a player that knew Joshua was coming. He played the fuck with his body facing the boards. It's not a boarding call. It can't be because he's too close. I don't know. That feels like, Hey, you hit.

[00:18:05]

Yeah, see, they put it as boarding. I don't see that as boarding. I don't know. I don't see it. I don't see it. Maybe I'm wrong. What do we think, Chat? What do you think? Apparently, NHL TV is broken for a lot of people. So welcome to the chat. We'll hang out together. So a lot of people saying this should be a major boarding. Yeah, I know it's two minutes of boarding. I don't think it should be a major, guys. I really don't. I don't see that. 14:44, by the way, is where we're at, if you're lining up the stream. Dapper duck. Should we talk about what apples you're buying for Steve and Jessie. Okay. Well, while we're here, since we're in between face offs, I'm going to go with... Here are my two favorite. I like Honeycrisp, and I like a Golden Delicious. Those are my two favorites. Don't sleep on Golden Delicious apples. As long as they're fresh, delicious. Just saying, look them up in your grocery store. If you never bought a Golden Delicious apple, you can thank me later. I don't know anybody else who likes them the way I do, but they are amazing.

[00:19:15]

Willy P 93, given five memberships to people. Thank you. Poopy McButface got one. Good for you, Poopy McButface. I'm happy for you. That's great. Are we not all thrilled for Poopy McButface? We're a minute 15 left in the power play here. Nashville has had a great start. There's no question about it. They drew the penalty on the board. It's a questionable call, but whatever. We'll take it. We'll take it. Vancouver can handle this. Can I have a good PK. They'll handle it. I'm curious about what this does. They get through this power play. Sorry, penalty kill. Power play? Penalty kill, whatever. Do you roll Do you roll the first line out immediately afterwards? Because you're looking at the PK units, Lynn Home-Bluger, suited with Joshua's off. So yeah, I think you roll. I would go first line immediately after this. You got to get some momentum back. You're 13 minutes left in the... Well, 13, 23 left. You got to... Oh, they're tying up Petterson there. Yeah. So Petterson's out. Maybe they're getting ready. You want fresh legs, and you want to be fired up. That was a good kill. Really good kill. Here's McDonald.

[00:20:37]

Out on the power plate. Man, how much power plate time did McDonald get in Tampa in his last three seasons? Maybe five minutes. Now, he's doing it in Nashville all the time. Good for him. It's amazing how useful he is. I don't think the numbers, the advanced numbers, do him justice. There's a reason why Nashville was all over that, willing to swallow that cap space for that guy. He's just so useful. He's such a playoff warrior. It's almost like Barry Trotz believed this team would make the playoffs, and none of the rest of us did. Amazing. And that is why he's running the organization, and we're not. And that's okay. That's okay. There's time to learn. There's time to learn. So Dworak tied up, Petterson. Okay, here we go. Here we go. Can Bester catch? No. Again, see, Nashville is Just turning it around, putting it back in. Let's dump it, and then we're going to forecheck. Mikhaev line out there now. Zdorow misses a hit. Petterson still out there, needs to change. There's Hogland Oglander and Mikhaev. Is that Mikhaev? I think it is. Here you go. Here you go. You got to shoot at some point.

[00:21:50]

You got to do something with it. Do something down. Almost. That was good play. You know what? Mikhaev's got sneaky speed. That was a really good read on that. He almost leaped And by leaf it, I mean over... Oh, no goal. No goal. It's no goal. Oglander is going to get so much shit for that. They're going to go after him for that. They're not going to like that. Mikheil, you know what? Hoglander, get your stick on the ice. You know what? I also think, and I got to say this, Macaev's pass was right to his skates. And I know he was running an angle, but he had some space there. Just a little bit ahead of Hoglander, and that's it. A little bit ahead. Yellow wave incoming. Do we have preds fans in the chat? Are there preds fans here? Okay, listen, I need to know if we got more Knux fans or preds fans. Preds fans have been showing up big time despite the fact that we are going hard after Nashville right now. Preds fans have been showing up in droves. Goldshit account at L-O-L. Yeah, Willy, I don't think So spam the grippers chat.

[00:23:02]

Hey, by the way, if you guys could throw us a like, we're about 130 in. And the more likes we get, the more people we get exposed to. Maybe I expose the grippers later. Maybe. Hit subscribe. Tell all your friends. Thank you, Mark. Appreciate that. Okay, so we got some... I've got some go-nucks in the chat. Let's go. Let's go. Preds are my second favorite team. Grippers are Adam and Sdpn crew want to thank you. I no longer follow Hockey Do to Hective Life, but I've been listening to the shows on the Sdpn banner, and it makes me want to move back to Toronto. It's that much fun. Well, thank you, Ala. Honestly, sometimes life gets busy and you can't watch the games. I can remember the later Vesa Toscala years. I didn't see a lot of hockey games because I was working an overnight shift and I had to get prepped and ready to go. I was living in Halifax. It couldn't happen. So let's get a thousand likes for free grippers. Nathan Vallekat. Thank you, Nathan. So sometimes life gets crazy, and we're glad that we can keep you appraised because the drama never stops in the NHL.

[00:24:13]

It's actually been To be honest, it's been a great year. The regular season was objectively one of the best that I can remember. And I think part of that is the COVID stuff finally being over in the sense that not the COVID has gone away, but it's not like a A major public health threat every day, all the time leading the news. This is the first season we've had since COVID, where the entire season is running on time. Even last year's schedule was still a bit off, still a bit compressed. Jordan Salier Here. Let's go, Preds. Jordan, love seeing the preds come up. Adam, for a future VIP episode, can we get to know behind the scenes of Sdpn like Mad Dog and producer Dick? Yeah, we can probably do that. We probably wouldn't put that on the VIP. We You probably put that on the main episode. I want everybody to know them, right? But maybe we can do something. Mad Dogg wants to know what you guys want to know. By the way, 11:26 left in the game. What do you want to know? If you want to know anything about Mad Dogg, hit it up.

[00:25:15]

Justin Landry, do you think Halifax could support an NHL team? No. And it's not because the fans wouldn't be there, but you got to remember, there's a lot more factors to running a hockey team than just the gate. You You got to look at income in the area. First off, what can you charge for a ticket? You got to look at potential audience. The Maritimes themselves, you'd have to have three or four provinces essentially support at Newfoundland, PEI, New Brunswick, and of course, Nova Scotia, all being major supporters. I think what we need to get Halifax is a CFL team, and they're not even convinced it can work there. The other problem is that, oh, here we go. Do we get the first Knux shot of the game? We're 10:34 in. Do we get a Knux shot? Garthie Bettman, as a lifelong Gary Bettman fan, I hope my street continues against Canada. Is We can't. Is that because you don't want Canada to win the Cup, Gary? Is that what it is? Yeah, we need Halifax to get a CFL team if they could support it. Travel is the worst part. Travel is so expensive in this country.

[00:26:27]

There's many reasons for it. I won't get into them. It doesn't need to be this expensive, but we've made it that way. And that's why most Canadians do not travel or vacation within Canada. Fun fact. Jonas Korea. As a Lightning fan, I miss McDonald. He's invaluable. We sorely miss him. Man, he's been great in this series. Just tough, mean, and really good, underrated playmaker. I mean, he didn't need to be in Vancouver at all. In Vancouver, jeez. I'm not sharp tonight. He didn't need to be in because he had Headman and Zerhachev and other guys for that. He just needed to be mean and tough. But he's good Puck handling, playing well. I think he fits right in. It's a great system. Going to go with Honeycrisp apples. Love SDPN so much. I've learned a lot watching you. Thank you, T. A. Neiman. Neiman? Neiman. Julian, Nikolov, get ready for low event hockey. Yes. Yes, it is. Yes, it is. It is low event Hockey. Yeah. This is the preds game, guys. Welcome to the preds game. And I think this is the challenge for Vancouver. If you're a Knux fan, and if you're on the Knux coaching staff, you have to build a game plan with these talented and in their prime players, which they have, Petterson, Besser, Miller, Quinn Hughes isn't quite...

[00:27:57]

Quinn Hughes is so scary good. I wouldn't call him in his yet, though. He's 23. There's no way that that guy's in his prime. Your prime hits, it's 25 to 30. That's your sweet spot. Rick Tucket has an experienced enough roster to put together a team that should be able to work its way around the Nashville system. If Nashville goes deep in these playoffs, I'm afraid for the NHL because people are going to start to copy their style. If they do, it's going to be like what New Jersey did. If anybody's as old as I am, what New Jersey did at the end of the '90s, which is we like to call the dead fuck era. It was terrible. I hated it. William Richards, New Brunswick are here. It would be amazing to have a team closer by, but there's a weird reluctance to travel between cities. I've noticed Halifax is 2-3 hours from us. I've done that drive. I'm assuming you're from Moncton. Maybe you're not. I've done the drive, not bad, but it has to be built into the culture. I just don't think the economics out there are just... They don't lend themselves to that.

[00:29:07]

I put it this way, if Quebec City can't get a team, it's just not going to happen for Halifax. But Teams like the Mooseheads, so well-traveled, so well-followed. There are Mooseheads fans everywhere. Nathan McKinnon, Jonathan Druin, big names. Adam just got here. I'm muted at work. All I see is Honeycrisp. Must be Apple talk, 10,000% Honeycrisp. Love it. If you're as old as I am, Adam, there's no need to call out our ages here, but okay, well, fine. I'm 36. I just Turned 36 a couple of weeks ago. Gurthy, Bettman, yes. I told the refs, the Leaps are going to make the finals, but they're losing in game seven. Don't tell Steve. No, you didn't. That's how I know it's not the real Gary Bettman, because the real Gary Bettman would be like, I prefer that you don't exist. By the way, I love the conspiracy theories about Toronto. If only the NHL wanted us to win, if only the conspiracy theories were true. If only. Here we go. Jt Miller killing the penalty. Yosey, Foresberg. Let's see if they get to him. See, they do that a But watch, they're going to go to...

[00:30:32]

So O'Reilly and Nyquist are circling around, one guy low, one guy right in front of the net, and it's always O'Reilly, and then Forrestberg and Nyquist sneak in. You see how O'Reilly is always there, and there's nobody getting him. If a puck goes in, oh, here we go. We got a Vancouver break. Here we go. And okay. Kill the time. Good play. All right. You know what? I got to give Vancouver credit, watching their penalty kill, guys watching your penalty kill, it's making me wish the least did some of the same things, but let's not talk about them. Let's not do it. From Dean, Adam, Since you just like peanut butter and chocolate combo, is mint and chocolate acceptable? Also, no question about it. Smarties better than M&Ms. Well, first off, you're wrong. M&ms are better than Smarties. If you like the taste of weird candy, then you like Smarties. However, when you eat your Smarties, you must eat the red ones last. That is how it works. I don't love peanut butter and chocolate together. Mint chocolate, I love. It's my favorite ice cream, mint chocolate chip. Hard to get a good one, though.

[00:31:50]

A lot of mint chocolate. Oh, big hit. Big hit, baby. Colton Sizzons, I think that was. That was good. Wow, that'll get the fans into it. You know, for a... This is such a Barry Trotz game. Four shots, Nashville, zero, Vancouver. Zero shots, Vancouver, guys. Okay, you're not going to just nail the goalie and not get a penalty for that. They're going to kill this guy. They're going to kill McCarron. I mean, they're going to kill him. They're going to kill him. Michael McCarron absolutely laying the body on Casey De Smith. They're going to kill him. Now, it's going to take more than one person to kill him because he's big, and that's what he's there to do. But does Vancouver get its first shot of the game on the upcoming Michael McCarron power play? We'll have to see. Kasia Smith looks fine. It was a clean hit. But the one thing that Nashville is starting to learn is that with the exception of, I think, Zdorow and maybe Dakota Joshua, who's been so good. The Vancouver Canucks are not that big. They're tough enough, but they're not that big. I am absolutely shocked that somebody didn't jump on them.

[00:33:15]

That is a crazy hit. I have not seen a goal tender laid out like that in years. Wow. It was clean, though. You could see the Smith laughing. Clean hit. Clean hit. Just two minutes. I don't know. What do we think, Chad? If you're the Nashville Predators, are you down? Do you like this? Are you excited about Michael McCarron laying out a goalie, or is that a stupid penalty? Does Smith even tried to get out of the way. Adam, if you had to buy a Canucks jersey, which player would you want to get? I would get Knux and Leifs great, Alexander McGilmy. A lot of people forget how great he was as a Knux. I would get Alexander McGilmy. If I wanted to be a real a-hole, I'd get Mark Messier. Should I get a Mark Messier or a Vancouver Jersey, guys? By the way, if you go, you guys are Vancouver fans. I want to know, when you're in the arena, when you're at Roger's place, Roger's Arena, Roger's Center, Roger's Corporate Office, what's it called? I don't even know. Here we go. Are there any Messier jerseys left, is my question. Any Messier jerseys in Vancouver?

[00:34:38]

Question. Does anybody wear a Messier jersey, ironically? Do they do it because they don't know? Have you ever seen a Messier jersey? Here we go. Jt Miller, oh, loses the buck. Back to Quin Hughes. Okay, now, so somebody to watch here is Petterson on the high boards. He did have some chances there on the power play last game. If he can convert today, they're going to be looking for him, especially because the has been giving it to him. Lynn Holmes out there. I wonder, yeah, I guess, Vancouver, are they changing? Pass her. Here we go. Here we go. Patterson. Patterson is the guy. He's open. He's open. Should have passed it to Petterson. Okay. Here we go. Miller, Petterson. Oh, what a goal! First shot of the game. Jt Miller, ice in his veins. What a goal. Good shot. I want to see if that got tipped, but I think that was top cheese, baby. Top cheddar, which matches Nashville's jerseys, and I think that's nice, don't you? I think that's nice. Here we go. Petterson, Hughes, goal. Did that touch anyone? Did that touch the defenseman stick? Slow it down, Sportsnet. I don't think it touches Lozons' stick.

[00:35:57]

And there's the goalie's butt. Can't really see anything from that angle either. See, this is where I need them. I know it's difficult to do. Maddie actually does this for her other job because Maddie's a worker bee. Maddie does these productions. Maddie, how hard is it to get a replay on the air and slow it down for the audience very quickly. Yeah, if you were... So I'm talking to Maddie, guys. Maddie, if you were working a truck and you're in the crew, the TV crew, and you got, Oh, here we go. D Giuseppe with a break, fuck off the face, get the fuck over to Bluger. No, Bluger is asking for a penalty there. No penalty. This is a playoff Teddy Bluger. Come on now. You know, you've been in the playoff before. You had some good runs. Oh, we got a chance for Nashville. Oh, boy. Some good defensive coverage there. Casey De Smith doesn't even face a shot with those two opportunities that Nashville had. I think they probably should have passed and shot. So So Maddie, I don't relay this to everybody watching. Oh, boy. Do we have a penalty? Nashville fans want it.

[00:37:09]

I don't think we do. It's the playoff, kids. Of course, we don't. Except for that weird Dakota Joshua one of He's still not in the beginning. Still don't think it's boarding. Here we go. Oh, okay, that's a hook. He's down. No way. No way. Yeah, of course, they're going to call that. What are you kidding me? So he's going to try to bait Hoglander. So McDonald is going to try to bait Hoglander into taking a penalty there. Hoglander does not go for it. And I think it's because of the shot from earlier. Remember when the whistle blew? So McDonald is trying to pay it back a little bit. That, to me... Sorry, I'm not explaining this properly. You remember earlier where Hoglander was... He thought the play had continued. The whistle had gone. It was a late whistle. He shot it at the net. Nashville didn't like that. Okay, so McDonald is pissed with the ref. He's yelling at the ref, and then And he was going to try to bait him back into it. I also think that they're trying to take a couple shots at Hoglander. Anyway, playoffs are great, and we got a power play when we get back.

[00:38:09]

5:31 left in the first period. So, Matty, I've always wondered this. When you're trying to do a replay very quickly after a goal, is it hard to get it to air very fast? Maddie says it's very hard to get it to air very fast. Now, Maddie, how hard is it to get it to air from multiple angles and slow it down? Maddie says you got two replayers going, people on different cameras, and they're both… Maddie, Okay. Maddie saying that there would be usually four in a truck, but still not easy to do, not easy to turn it around. We got, Don't care for your political takes very much, but enjoy your casting. Like a soft-spoken Eddie Oldschuck. Great job. Thank you, cryptic. That wasn't cryptic at all. That was pretty on the nose. James Stemmler. I'm both a diehard Leifs and Knux fan. If there was a Leifs-Kunnax final, I wouldn't know what to do. Leifs, not since '67, Knux since never. Decisions. James, are Were you old enough to have watched the Vancouver Knux walk on and just trounce the 1994 Toronto Maple Lefs? Who for the second year in a row just missed out on the Stanley Cup finals?

[00:39:40]

Because I wasn't old enough to stay up that late, but I hear it was heartbreaking. Adam, who was the better commander, Charlemagne or Belisarius? Belisarius, obviously. Obviously. Shout out to anybody who knows who Belisarius or Charlemagne are, by the way. We're coming back. We got a power play. Five 5:31. Lapt, I'll clap when the face off happens so we can line it all up. We're going to do that every once in a while in these periods. By the way, 902 people here watching. Thank you for being here. There we go. Ref actually dropped the buck this time. Hallelujah. Okay, Hughes at the point. Besser, Hughes, they're going to look for Petterson. He's wide open, but he's got to get towards the hash marks. They got to find him low. Or not low-ish. Okay, we got two guys in front of the net. Besser deep. Petterson. Oh, Okay, over. No. Oh, that was a good fake shot. Nice play. I love this Knux power play tonight. This looks great. It's the only way they got a shot, and that shot scored. Uc Cesaros rarely lets in the first shot he sees. But you know, it's JT Miller's shot.

[00:40:50]

Tough to stop. Patterson over. Oh, that was a great play over to Miller. But UC caught that. Uc You could say, You see it, or you don't. I'm going to have to have another coffee, guys. I got to get it fired up. Are you fired up? Are we fired up? Are the vibes good? Can I see on the Okay, so Lindholme swung and missed at that. But hey, guys, listen, Vancouver got its second shot of the period. This is the most Barry Trott series. Of all the series to pick, I had to pick this one. Quinn Hughes gets the puck stripped. That's not good. That That kills time. Still 40 seconds left in the power play. Quinn Hughes, now going to do a breakout, although he's well-covered. We got JT Miller, In, Besser, Hughes. Guys are staying on the ice. I would, too. With shots like that, with players like that, you got to do that. I wonder if the Knucks are going for a change now. Yeah. Okay, so 17 seconds left. Do you go power play two, or do you just put a line out there? That's what I would do. I'm looking at this, and I'm thinking, okay, yeah, it's Dakota Joshua season.

[00:42:12]

Sousy with a bad pitch. Why did he do that? Oh, no. Oh, no. And they swing and they miss. Wow. It's like watching the Blue Jays take an at bat. Wow. Okay, Nashville probably should have scored there. Vancouver got real lucky, real Haukei Selsi with a bad pinch. Now we got a two on two that's going to turn into a three on two. If they're not careful, Teddy Blueger. All right, two on two the other way. This is good back and forth hockey, the shit that Barry Trotz hates. This is Vancouver style of game. If they can keep this going, Mikheil, around, no shot. Blueger down deep to Mikheil, hog lander. Or no, it's Di Giuseppe. No, who is Who is out there? It's not Hoglander. Our TV is a little blurry tonight, so I can't see the numbers as well, which is why I'm not calling out the names as much. Not loving that. Maybe my eyesight's going, Oh, no. Oh, no. Did that go off? That went off somebody. I thought Vancouver was going to go on the PK there, guys. All right, so the shots are starting to even up. Are they going on the PK?

[00:43:30]

Yeah. Oh, you hate this penalty so much. Sousey, what are you doing there? It's Roman Yosey. It's not... Wow. He got back and he defended, but damn. Damn. Should have never happened. Bluger. Oh, no. Man, Rick Tauket, he's the coach that if you go into the dressing room and he says nothing to you, you probably want to die. He'd be so mad. You know what I mean? You know when your parents are so mad at you when you're growing up that they won't even say anything. They're just like, they just point to you and it's to your room and you just know. You got to wait a couple hours before they can calm down and come talk to you. Oh, that's the worst. Maddie says, not mad, but disappointed. True mad dog. The worst. The worst. Listen, he hasn't faced a lot of shots, but I have liked the Smiths game. Guys, there is life beyond Thatcher Demko. Evangelista with a shot right to the chest, right where it definitely will not go in. But at least it's a registered shot. Do we get over 10 shots by the end of the first period? I need to know in the chat.

[00:44:47]

Ten combined shots is what I'm saying. We got 219 left. There's another face off. Three shots for Vancouver, five for Nashville. Do we get over 10 shots combined by the end of the period? And remember, Nashville is on a power play. Here's Roman Yosey bringing the fuck up. Is he going to shoot? Probably not. We don't like shots. We're Barry Trotz's team. Okay, Ryan O'Reilly has looked dangerous, though. I'm not going to lie. Watch him. He's going to work the board. He's going to come in, and he's going to swing down deep. Right now, there he is. Almost had it. O'reilly down deep. Whoa, big save by Dakota Joshua. What? That had to hurt, though. That did not feel good. He's lucky he didn't break his hand because that would suck. I don't even care if it's the cushy part of your glove. That's not going to feel good. Here we go. Nyquist to the point. Yosey, Nyquist, Ryan O'Reilly down deep. Evangelist in front of the net. Interesting choice, Evangelist in front of the net. Nyquist harassed by Lindholm. Here we go. Joshua Yosey, blocked by Zdorov. He is the Zdor. You can F off.

[00:46:10]

You see what I'm saying? Dad joke. Terrible. I want to kick my own ass for that. So let's move on. Second power play unit out there for Nashville. Guys, I don't think we're going to get 10 combined shots by the end of the first. This is so boger. How is this possible? Vancouver's got to figure this out, guys. This is Nashville's game. Nashville wants this. They're totally fine with this. What's the Taylor Swift line? It's like, this is the school I was raised in or whatever. This is it. This is it. This is what made them. 22 seconds left. Do we get a shot? No, we get another block shot by Tyler Myers, who is back and gigantic as ever. Hughes is on the ice. T Top line is on the ice. Luger is going to change. Nice little football pass. There's five seconds left in the period. Period is going to be done in one second, zero seconds. We're done. Wow, we did not even get 10 shots, guys. Oh, boy. Oh, boy. I want to say this for everybody that's like, Hey, your stream is about a minute behind. My stream is about a minute behind because I'm using the Sportsnet app stream from our studio, and it's always about 45 seconds behind.

[00:47:36]

So that's why what you do is you align your stream with us. If you've got a TV that pauses, you can do that. And for anybody asking why we can't run the actual game on our stream, because Sportsnet and the NHL would have a real problem with that. They would say, We paid a lot of money for that, and that is ours, and you can't have it. And we'd be like, true. True. True. Benny, this isn't playoff hockey, my God. Benny. Yes, Benny. Benny, this is playoff hockey. Benny, this is New Jersey Devils' 1999 playoff hockey. Boring, and it sucks. And guess what happened? They won cups. My biggest fear, if you're a Vancouver Knucks fan, and I'm pro-Vancouver in this series, We cannot let the Nashville Predators get away with this because even them making the second round might mean other teams are going to do this again. The NHL has been free wheeling and fun and open. If the Nashville Predators are taken as a model for other teams to follow, the NHL is going to suck the way that the New Jersey Devils made it suck for a long, long time. Please.

[00:48:58]

Adam, it's better this way that you don't have a stream because we can watch you in the USA. True. I know that a bunch of fans were locked out because of Sportsnet. Sportsnet only owns the feed in Canada. I never understood why, and I think it's probably because there's too much going on, why you couldn't have whoever was running the game, be it TNT or ESPN last year with Sportsnet, with Steve, also carry it. But it's probably just not the priority. Anyway, hey, listen, we're going to run a clip here. I'm going to take a break. I'm going to get a coffee. Anyone feeling like a Friday night, at least for me, 8:23 coffee? How are we feeling good about that? Because I am, and I will sleep later. So here's what we're going to do. We're going to play a little clip from the SDP. Drew sent some clips, and... Oh, you're going to love this. Okay. So we got called out by our own local legendary radio caller Joe Bowen. Joe Bowen is a God here, and he should be. He calls a spectacular game. It's absolutely criminal that he's not on TV.

[00:50:11]

It goes to show that networks really don't care what you think. They just want to put their people on. Joe Bowen should be calling Leef Games. End of story. But he said something that I disagreed with, and I say this with the utmost respect for Joe Bowen, that Leef fans need to be more proactive creative. You let me know what you think. I'm going to throw it out there. Maddie, let's play that clip. I would like to talk about Joe Bowen's tweet. Joe Bowen, who, if you're not familiar, is the radio announcement for the Toronto Maple Leaps used to be TV as well. But because Sportsnet wants to use their own people and because they, even if it's a Canadian team versus an American team, want to appear neutral, Joe Bowen is not on TV anymore. And he is the best collar the least have ever had. If you're a Bruins fan, think of Jack Edwards, who is going to retire at the end of this year. He's beloved in the community. Lee fans are dying for him to get on TV. The networks just won't do it for whatever reason.

[00:51:18]

It's been a number of years, too.

[00:51:20]

Yeah. Nice man. Interesting to hear or interesting to read this tweet. Can we bring it up on screen? So here's what he says. The idea of going to any sporting event to support the home team is to be proactive. Why is it structured like a high- Because I think he wrote it and it doesn't matter. The guy's like 65. What are we? Are we going to- No, I know. You're nitpicking. Yeah, we're nitpicking. Can I just get through this? I want to get through this tweet. The idea of-What is this? Is this your first show with me? The idea of going through. Maddie, please put it back on screen. The idea of going to any- Maddie, what do you think? No, Maddie, take it off.

[00:51:53]

What do you think of the structure of the tweet, Maddie? You got to pull down the mic.

[00:51:58]

He hit return too often. I think It's effective. Yeah, see? I like it. The idea of going to any sporting event.

[00:52:05]

Adam, you can read it.

[00:52:06]

The idea of going to any...

[00:52:07]

Hey, Adam, he's actually 73.

[00:52:09]

The idea of going to any sporting event. He's 73. To support the whole team.

[00:52:14]

Sorry, continue.

[00:52:15]

Is to be proactive. Give the team energy when they need it, not sitting down waiting to be reactive. The players can't say it, but I will. Tonight's crowd was very disappointing. I'll be honest with you. The crowd was right into it after the first goal. The crowd was right into it after the second goal. What happened?

[00:52:35]

They blew it.

[00:52:36]

Now, hold on. How fucking quickly did they blow it?

[00:52:39]

Like, immediately.

[00:52:39]

A fucking minute later. That's not what this shit. You know what? I understand. I get it. I understand that we got a lot of suits in the building, and I fucking can't stand when people are in platinum seats during a playoff game wearing a suit. Fuck off and put a jersey on. I don't care how important your client is. You're at a leaves game because your client loves the leaves, too. Put on a leaves jersey, wave a goddamn towel, wake up.

[00:53:05]

The games in Boston, I couldn't believe how many jerseys were right up against the glass. A hundred %. You never see that here. You just don't see it here.

[00:53:11]

But here's what I want to say. We know that. We know that. I got to ask the media people, the media, all of us. We're all jealous. We're all... No, jealous. We're all guilty of this.

[00:53:24]

The media.

[00:53:26]

We know that the barn in Toronto, the It's just not great because of the platinum-level sections, which are very expensive seats, and they're excessively expensive. And guess what that gets us? What? It gives us a ton of... We have more coaches than any team in the NHL. Not only do we have assistant coaches, but we have an offensive coordinator and a defensive coordinator. You know that. Mike Van Ryan is a defensive coordinator for the Leaps. Oh, man. We have five effing coaches. We have more scouts. We have more this, more than anybody else. Bigger analytics staff, not sure how much it's done for us. Those people are buying those things for us. So I am willing to accept that. But what I am not willing to accept is completely erasing the fact that the fans were into it. And the reason the fans are reactive is because this team fucking blows it all the time. And when you're in the building, you can feel it. You're nervous. You're nervous. Sorry. I'm sorry. Is my cheering not good enough for you? Well, your winning isn't good enough for me. So enough with this shit. I understand, and I'm willing to accept the trade-off.

[00:54:40]

The fans were loud. Jessie and I were up in the 600 level, so that's the gondola level. And we were up right above the Blues and the greens, which are they... Those people are loud. It's loud up there. And I've been to Bruins' playoff games. It's loud in there. And the fans were rocking before that game. When the Leifs opened the scoring, it was ear-splitting. The problem we have is that we continue to have a team that we cannot trust. I can't enjoy the good moments. I can't enjoy being up, one-nothing. I can't enjoy tying the game two, two. I can't enjoy it. Ryan Reeves went out there and had some banger shifts. Crazy stuff. Fans are right into it. What happens? Boston comes back and scores or has a crazy opportunity. At some At this point, expecting the fans to carry an $83 million team to victory is fucking bullshit. It's a bullshit ask. Win. Fucking win, man. You got to win.

[00:55:42]

Win. Now, another problem, and I've said this for a few years, is you know what's impossible to do, literally impossible, is go to a leaf game with a big group unless you're spectacularly rich.

[00:55:55]

Unless you own the team or a corporate sponsor.

[00:55:58]

But even then, you would have to know someone because all these season seats are owned by all these different corporate. Who would you even call?

[00:56:05]

Yeah, you're getting two by twos, right?

[00:56:07]

So I was counting on my fingers while you were going on that rance because I'm trying to figure out how many letters are in Matthew's. And the reason I was trying to do that is remember the dudes who followed the team around?

[00:56:16]

Yeah, they went to Buffalo, they went to Florida.

[00:56:18]

Buffalo and both games in Florida.

[00:56:21]

Couldn't do that in Toronto.

[00:56:21]

Eight guys. No. Eight guys sat next to each other. You can't do that here. No.

[00:56:27]

That'd be $10,000. You can't bring a group of eight Eight seats don't exist consecutively in Scotia bank Arena that you can purchase.

[00:56:35]

That's impossible.

[00:56:35]

Which is, by the way, a good thing. That's a good problem to have, I would argue. That's a good problem to have for the Leaps.

[00:56:42]

Well, for the team, both financially.

[00:56:43]

If you're talking It's not the bottom line yet.

[00:56:46]

Yeah, and that's why- In terms of fandom, it sucks. But that is why I put it on the organization. Because, okay, fine. You want to sell all those platinum seats at outrageous prices that really only corporations can buy, because that's really only where it makes sense. You buy that personally and you can't write it off. You're blowing money out of the window. You're torching it. The reason that those corporate seats are there and the reason they'll spend money on them is they can write them off. That's taxable income that goes to them and it doesn't go to Justin Trudeau. And they're thrilled about that. My point is we've given you the money. We've accepted that our barn isn't as exciting because as fans, we understand that that's happening. We've given you all the resources. I'm sorry It comes back to the team. It comes back to management. It comes back to how this has all been put together, which is if I can guarantee... The reason why Boston fans are dancing in the aisles is because they've won before. It's because they've been good for a long time. And yes, they haven't won a Cup since 2011, but they've been to the finals.

[00:57:49]

They regularly win one or two rounds. Last year was such a story because they didn't win. Honestly, Boston fans are confident. As a Leef fan, do you know what that feels like? And is that your fault? I don't think so.

[00:58:04]

The only thing against the winning argument is that there are plenty of places around the league that have much better atmospheres. Currently, every Canadian team in the playoffs has much better atmospheres, and none of them have won anything.

[00:58:16]

So this is what I was going to ask. The closest comparable I can think of, a team that has had basically exclusively heartbreak. They're a little on edge. They haven't been in the playoffs for a while. They got a lot of corporate backing. That's Vancouver.

[00:58:32]

Who have just a terrific atmosphere for these two games.

[00:58:35]

It's also been 10 years. Why does it suck shit here? It's been 10 years since Vancouver has been in. They're riding high of just being there. And that's not an insult.

[00:58:46]

That's an interesting point. I'm trying to figure out, was it louder in 2017 when that rookie team made it for the least? And you know what? It was.

[00:58:54]

Yeah, because we were riding high. But what has happened since then? How many games seven or Or Game 5 meltdowns has this team had since?B Austin, Boston.2018.

[00:59:05]

2019.2020. 2020, and we weren't even there. 2021, and we weren't even there. 2022, they finally won in '23, and they lost to Florida in Toronto, by the way.

[00:59:16]

So let me ask you. You know what I mean? Yeah, so listen. Scar tissue, dude. Nothing against Joe Bowen, personally. No. I understand what he's saying, but dude, what do you expect? These guys, this Am I on? Hi. Okay, Maddie didn't really give me a heads up that I was coming on there. You got to count me in, Maddie. Come on. Oh, my God. Well, what did you guys think? I did find some of the comments funny. Adam looking out for the one % as in the people that were there. Listen, my thing is this, Joe is right. And everybody else is in Toronto, right? Everybody else is in Toronto. Everybody else is that says, Hey, listen, it's quieter. The reason it's quieter is because we have all these rich people, these corporations that own these seats. And what does that give us? It gives us the richest team in the NHL. It gives us the opportunity to spend like drunken sailors, which... Oh, look at that goal. I just saw the Carlson goal in the New York Washington game. New York is still up, though. They can spend like drunken sailors But at a certain point, there's been eight years here of battle scars, and people are...

[01:00:37]

It's not like, Oh, we got deep a couple of times. That was crazy. We never got deep. Never. We barely were in the Florida series last year. So that's my thing. I just get mad. I get mad when fans get blamed for literally something that the multibillion dollar company that owns them dead. Now, I saw some people say, Hey, what if they didn't do the platinum seat thing in the playoffs? Well, so I would ask you, if you're a corporation, let's say you're a big time corporation, you're a big time lawyer, like somebody from Suits, and you're like, Yeah, my firm, we got four seats in the platinum section, and we're going to bring clients and be cool like the guys in Suits, or you're a finance bro, it doesn't matter. Interchangeable. People who have those seats you're very lucky, I'm very jealous of you. What would be the impetus for them to buy those seats if they didn't get access to the playoffs? Because they do pay extra. The way it works is you buy an 82-game package, which is actually 41 games, and they ask you to give up. I think they ask you to give up the seat.

[01:01:49]

There's some thing for the next-gen game, which is where all the kids come. But essentially, you get first dibs on the payoff tickets. Again, most corporations are buying this at a rate that is so outrageously expensive, the only way that you can justify it is a corporate write-off. So the whole thing is the Toronto Maple Lefs, when they hit game 82, they're finished paying the players. The players don't get paid anymore by the Lefs. They now get paid by the NHL for advancing into the playoffs. There are payoff bonuses that the NHL issues. And so all the money that they make off of tickets in the postseason, and this is the same for every team, is pure profit. Pure profit, except for what it costs to run the arena and run concessions and all that stuff. You're just printing money. That's why making the playoffs for a lot of teams is so important. Even if you'll see it with small market teams, they'll just go for it. You'll be like, Why are they going for it? They really should rebuild. Well, they don't want to have a position. They don't want to be in a position like Anaheim or San Jose, where they're super gate-reliant teams.

[01:02:55]

By gate, I mean tickets. Nobody's coming because they're not going to win for years. These platinum seats people, they are funding the outrageous amount of analytics and pro-scouting and all the other amateur scouting staff that the Toronto Maple leaves have. In a way, it's a good thing. Like I said in the video, I'm willing to make that trade out. But you got to give me as a fan what you promise me, which are wins. So forgive me for being a little anxious. And hey, there's only so many of us fans in there because when corporate people When they're out with clients, they're not going to cheer and root and scream and take their shirts off and swing them in the air. You know what I mean? They're not going to do that. They're going to be like, I'm with my client. I hope they have a fun time. We're going to talk the whole game. We're barely going to watch, and we're going to make small talk. I've been on those meetings. They're great. They're fun. It's not the same as watching with your family. I'm just saying that, listen, you want me to cheer?

[01:03:54]

You want that building to get loud? Give the fans some love. Give the fans some wins. That's how you love the fans back. And if you go outside, and I was out there for game three, Mapleree Square was just electric. And it was electric for three hours before the game even started. Just people are just buzzing. And you could feel a crowd's energy. You get amped up. You get amped up. The Ghost of Harold Ballard is happy with the platinum seats, L-O-L. Oh, man. Harold Ballard, I'll be honest with you. Some of the stuff Harold Ballard did was just because he wasn't a nice man. That's all it was. It wasn't even to make money. It was just to be like, I have so much money that I can be a bad person for no reason, just to exert my power. That's the guy he was. Will the Knucks miss the playoffs again next year? Type L for yes and LL for definitely yes. I don't know. I don't think so, man. I don't think you just win the division. Although, do you guys remember 2013 when I think it was Colorado that year, finished first in the NHL, and I think they were out in five or six games in the first round.

[01:05:06]

They just went on, and this was a new stat at the time, a PDO Bender. They are the ultimate PDO Bender franchise. Everybody's like, This team is bad. This team is super bad. Patrick Wad was the coach. I think he won the Jack Adams that year. Everybody's like, and all the old school guys are like, No, they're good. Look at them. They won. And they were right. And then the next season did not make the playoffs. I think the Knucks are in the playoffs. I think the were always talented. They just needed to get the right management in, and they needed to get the right systems in. And credit to Rick Tauket. I was not sold on him as the coach of this team, but spectacular. And look at all those Knucks fans in there. They made it. They made it in. Vegas missed the playoff two years ago. Okay, getting ready to clap here, everybody, so we can align streams. Let's go period two, and hopefully, we get more than 10 combined shots. Ten? There was eight combined shots in the first period. Can we do nine? Could we get there? There we go.

[01:06:06]

Face off. Maddie complimented my clap. Guys, was it a good clap? Do it clap? Is that inappropriate to ask? Okay. Does that count as a shot? We're looking for shots here. We're looking for anything. You know what this game feels like? You know what this game feels like? This This game feels like if Vancouver ties it, this feels like, Oh, we got a shot, guys. We got our first shot of the period. Wow. Nashville now has six shots, Vancouver with three. If Vancouver ties this, doesn't this feel like a triple overtime game to you? I'm not saying we're there yet, but I want to put it on your radar because this is the low event hockey that leads to a midnight or 1:00 AM from From my vantage point, and if you're in Vancouver, it's like, what is it? 6:40? No, 5:40 your time? Yeah, you might have to watch the game till 10:00 PM. This just feels like one of those games. It's like, Well, I'm not going to allow a shot, and you're not going to allow a shot, and then we're going to block a bunch of shots. I've said that Nashville has made Vancouver play their game, and they have.

[01:07:24]

But credit to the Vancouver Knucks and Casey DeSmith for being able to play it. Vancouver is up 1-0 right now, right? They're winning. Oh, my God. And they almost weren't for a second. But that puck just rolled at the last minute. Casey to Smith got away with one. Wow. Oh, and we almost have a game, Vancouver, Knox goal, but UC, Sarros. I think we got to be at 10 shots here, folks. We are. We are at 10 total shots, maybe even 11. Baby, this replay is going to be great. This is going to be a great replay. I love hockey so much. What a stupid game. Here we go. See it just pearls. That should have so... Okay. Vancouver just... Or sorry, Nashville is probably like, What? Sizzons? Sorry, buddy. Not your luck. You got Petterson's luck from the other night. And Petterson with a great set up there to hog lander, but UC Soros being UC Soros. You got to get more than four shots on UC Soros to expect to Wow. Wow. That was fun. See what happens when things happen in hockey games? See how much fun it can be? Sorry, Adam's a conscious mind believes that Nashville will take the lead and Vancouver will come back to it.

[01:08:48]

So here's the thing. Sometimes I mix things up. I don't want to call it what it isn't, but I have a thing with numbers. I have a thing. Here we go. I'll tell you later. I have a thing with numbers. I have a thing with reading as well, where I flip lines when I'm reading lines. The first person that pointed out to me was a producer who, when I was reading a radio script for a commercial, it was like some fast food restaurant. He's like, Are you dyslexic? I was like, I don't know. He's like, Well, and then he pointed to somebody else who was dyslexing. He's like, Yeah, you do what she does. From then on, I've had to work my way around it. That's not a bad thing, but sometimes... What I did there was I said, Oh, Nashville needs to tie it up. Or sorry, Vancouver needs to tie it up when I meant Nashville. It just happens. It comes out. You'll have to put up with me, guys. I'm sorry. It's just the way it is. I'm sure there's many other people in this chat right now who can relate. Sometimes the human brain is just a funny thing.

[01:09:57]

Joe gifted five SDPN memberships. Joe Joe, thank you. That was really kind. Joe, did you do that? Hold on. Joe did it twice. Joe, you gifted 10. Matt Moneyham. Moniham. That's a good name, Moneyham. Ballard is the perfect example for an estate tax and an inheritance tax argument. I don't know how Harold Ballard made his money, if it was his parents or whatever. But Harold Ballard... Vancouver fans give Aquilini shit all the time, and sometimes it's deserved. But you can't question that he wants to win. You can question how he goes about it. But Harold Ballard didn't care. He didn't care. He went to every game, could have cared less. As long as he felt like he could bully people, he was down. Absolutely not a great guy. Just not a great guy. Dave Hadeen. Come on, Hughes. He needs to shoot some shots. I agree, man. I think the problem is, where he sits, especially on the power play, Vancouver can't get anything going in the offensive zone for any sustained pressure. We haven't seen it. There was one shift in the first period that wasn't a power play. Even if they could, let's just say the power play, what predators do so well is they have a man high, and they're right in front of Hughes, and Hughes knows that no matter what that Nashville predator player is going to block it.

[01:11:31]

He has no choice but to pass it. I don't see him going end-to-end because this is not a team you can do that with. Although it's Quinn Hughes, and he can do anything he wants. Hoglander, a little move. To the point. We got some sustained pressure. Ian Cole, Nikita Zdorow, Hoglander in the corner, two preds on him. Defensive zone coverage is good. There's Zdorow. No, that's not Zdorow, that's Tyler Myers. I guess they switched off. Connor Garland in the corner. Lindholm, that is a hook for sure. That's a hook. Goodbye, Roman Yosey. You are going to the box. Yeah, good work on Connor Garland there. Doesn't stop moving his feet. Draw He caused the penalty. That's how you do it. Roman Yosey, if he had... If Connor Garland hadn't been pushing so hard... Look, watch this. Hold on. That's going to be a shot, and it's tipped. So watch this play. Watch him. Yeah. Okay. I had it the wrong way. But even so. Oh, my God. Did he get it caught in the skate? Oh, he did. Totally by accident. Well, sucks to be you, Roman Yosey. Sorry. Bummer. Bummer. All right. So, guys, people are trying to get us to a thousand likes, so I show off my feet.

[01:12:53]

We're at 349, though. We're a ways to go. At this point, we have more shots on gold, and We have likes. Come on, guys. We got to up those likes. We got to smash that like button like proper YouTube channels do. What I like about Myers is that he actually shoots the buck. Gordon McDell. Gordon, I agree. Oh, does that go in? That's a goal. That's a goal. We had a shot and the goal in this game. Vancouver is up to nothing. Opportunistic as heck. Wow. Okay, first off, I just want to point out to you on the score bug on the TV that we were at 11 or 12 shots. Now we're back down to 10 shots. Hilarious. Besser out front here. Good play. And then we get back down. Wow. So Besser basically by making a really solid play, set himself up. Nice. Okay, but... Perfect. Perfect goal. Perfect pass. Perfect goal. Got to love that. And look at that. Rogers's Arena going nuts. They can't do that for the Leaps as much. I wish they could because there's usually so many nights booked at the Scotiabank Arena. But damn, fun to see arenas do that when their team isn't home.

[01:14:14]

I think that the score bug just said three goals on eight shots for Bester. Not bad. We're at 11 total shots this game. And somehow, think about this. If I had told you before the game started. That one goalie would face five shots and allow two goals. And the goalie lineup is UC Sarros, Casey DeSmith. If you're a Vancouver Knux fan, the blood drains from your stomach. You're like, That's got to be Casey De Smith. No, it's UC Sarros. Uc Sarros, okay, now they've updated it to Vancouver, has six shots. So we have 12 total shots this game, guys. And Vancouver has scored on about 30% of the shots they've taken. That's a stat. That's something. I don't know what really... I don't blame UC for either of those, really. But I have some bad luck by Roman Yosei. Power play goal. But yeah, new save. Oh, now they've updated to seven. Now we're at 13 shots. Here we go. And Vancouver pressure, but we got to steal. Oh, and Nyquist couldn't get sprung. That sucks for him. 7-6 are the shots for Vancouver. This is the first time all game that Vancouver has led in shots, and we only have 13 shots.

[01:15:50]

Joe Pipple, UC Sarros has a 660 save percentage. Michael says, Are you not entertained, And Vancouver, Knux fans are like, No, but we like being awake and alive, and we're up to nothing. Listen, let's be honest about it. Is this the most entertaining hockey game that any of us have ever seen? No. But are Vancouver winning? And are they He's winning, playing Nashville's game? Yes and yes. Nashville is making them play their game. Vancouver is winning anyway. And that is why when we say there's a talent cap in this series, there's a huge talent cap. Here we go. Connor Garland. Can he? No, he can't. But he's fast. I thought he might be able to break in, get in on a corner there, but no. The fourth line for Vancouver is so good. How do you not love Vancouver's fourth line? Teddy Bluger, Phil DiGiuseppe, and Sam Lafferty. How do you not love that? How do you not love Dakota Joshua, Eliasyn, Lindholman, and Conor Garland? That's a deep lineup. How did this team, which had Luke Shin last year, didn't have Lindholm. How did this team miss the playoffs? They had Bo Horvat. They had to trade Bo Horvat.

[01:17:11]

How did that happen? This team should have been making the playoffs. It's ridiculous. Well, Thatcher Demko being healthy would help. We're now officially up to 14 shots. Guys, 14 combined shots in the game, 14 minutes left in the second period. If you're trying to align your TV with our stream, exactly 14 minutes. We got to face off here. I'm going to clap. Get ready. No. Sorry about the clap. The bloody line has been. Here we go. There we go. Teddy Bluger wins the face off. Spring Sam Lafferty, it's a one on two, tries to get it past Roman Yosey, and he does. And into the net. Or sorry, into the crowd. Now, I got to say, What Nashville does here will be interesting because you don't see them open up often, but they can't play defensive now. Now, they got to do something. I think they're probably next up on the power play because that's just the way it works in the NHL. Unless they do something egregious, like flip the fuck out again or trip somebody in a very obvious way, Vancouver is going to go short-handed here in the next 10 minutes. And Nashville Nashville is going to have to feed it into our O'Reilly, who has been threatening in all three games this series, and they're going to have to score there.

[01:18:37]

That's the way. Because Vancouver is doing a great job of keeping the fuck, or keeping the chances low from the point. And Roman Yosey is an absolute weapon. Maddie's talking to me. What's up, Maddie? According to Steve, the Knucks have one even strength shot. One even strength shot. And they're still losing. Now, Nashville is going to have to figure something out. Stephen T. Just donated two bucks. Didn't even ask a question. Well, thank you, Stephen T. Appreciate you. Appreciate you. Okay. Okay. People are saying, Steve lies. Adam, can I have another pickle? Pickle? I don't know what that means. They have three even strength shots, according to Amazing Cooke143. Sorry, Steve, you're a liar. Oh, no. Why are they showing this? Game 7 of the 1994 Stanley Cup Finals. Why are they showing this? Why are they doing this? Stop. Oh, Bob Gull. Sorry, I didn't see that. Wow. Oh, Amazing Cooke has corrected himself. Steve is redeemed. We need to get a Maddie Mike. Maddie has got a lot to do behind the scenes. The crowd just took a Valium. Russian bear is a door off. Adam, we need Mad Dog. You got Mad Dog.

[01:20:20]

Mad Dog is running the stream. Mad Dog is in control right now. Yeah, come to Bowmanville. Come to Boston Pizza tomorrow night. Then you get to meet the Mad Dog. All right, here we go. Third line on the ice. Fourth line on the ice. Di Giuseppe, Bluger. Here we go. And they've looked good all series, actually. Give them full credit. Offside, Nashville. Boy. Hey, guys, listen. They've readjusted the shots again. Boy, they can't get the shots right. So Vancouver was leading in shots, 7, 6, but Vancouver has been docked a shot, probably because they were bad. And now they're down to six shots, and Nashville is up to eight shots. So we have 14 shots. I had to think about that. 14 shots in this game. That is outrageous. I can't believe it. I can't believe it. I can't believe it. I can't believe it. In this era, I have not seen this much low event hockey. It's unbelievable what Nashville has been able to do. And it's unbelievable, Vancouver has scored as much as they have. They're scoring on 33% of their shots. That's crazy. Against UC Soros, that's crazy. Here we go. Here we go.

[01:21:46]

Mikheil trying to muscle his way to the buck. Oh, here we go. Okay. All right. We got a shot from Tyler Myers, and he misses the net. How many times have you heard that? Jt Miller takes the hit, drives through the guys. Jt Miller is a beast now. Whatever he was doing last year, it's amazing how quickly he put that in the rear view mirror. That guy was almost traded to Pittsburgh. Can you imagine? Can you imagine? They were figuring out the salaries, and they just couldn't get it done. You imagine JT Miller and Sidney Crosby this season? Pens would be in the playoffs. They'd be in the playoffs. Carlson wouldn't be a Penguin, and JT Miller would have been a far more useful pickup than Eric Carlson for them. I still don't know why they made that But look at that, Vancouver, you benefit. The Rapt has almost traded Kyle Lowry, and at the 11th hour, it didn't happen. And look at that, he became one of the greatest Raptors of all time. Just the way it goes. We got some shots. We got some stuff in the area. Nashville pressing. They've been able to do this a couple of times tonight, five on five.

[01:22:51]

Not for too long, but they've looked dangerous. And Vancouver, giving them the buck isn't going to help. Yossi, McDonald, Back to Yosey. Shot, saved to Smith. This is good pressure by the Seasons' line. They've got, obviously, elite defensemen behind them. But that's exactly what you want from that line. That was good pressure. Burn out the Jets a little bit for the Vancouver Knux, create some scoring chances. I think what we're going to see, and I think we're seeing it, is—and the shot totals are going up—I think Nashville is opening up the game a little, which in theory shouldn't work in their favor. When you think about it, Nashville is going to lose the skill battle every time. However, they have a fabulous goalie behind them. If UC Soros lets in another goal, this game is completely over. But if he doesn't, Nashville needs one goal to be really and truly in this game and threatening. And they can do that. They can do that. One silly penalty, it's all it's going to take. One Nikita Zdorow's slash, one Tyler Meyer's elbow. And that's easy because they're tall. Tyler's a big boy. Easy to drop an elbow accidentally.

[01:24:05]

We'll see what happens. This is such a goofy game, guys. This series is... It's very unique. I won't say that it's electric. Even the Preds fans are like, That's all right. I'm not sure care. But I got to give them credit. They're playing their game. This is Barry Trott's Hockey. Nashville wanted it. You got it now. Icing, I think. Michael, sad. I wanted to see Ovi go the distance. Is it going bad in New York? I haven't seen the... I know that I know they were down. Rangers 3-1 on Capitals. Yeah, I mean, the fact that the Capitals made the playoffs is a miracle. It really is. Who would have picked them? Although the Metropolitan sucks, The Caps did a great job, and they deserve it. And really, frankly, they weren't even that good coming down the stretch. Nobody was. But for them to steal the playoffs away from teams like Detroit, a team like Philadelphia that was in a playoff spot all year long. Oh, oh. Meyer's got to use his wingspan a little bit more, get a stick in there. It's amazing that they're here. It's amazing that they're here, and they have to look at it that way.

[01:25:41]

But come on, do we think they're going to win a game? Famous last words, but... History quarter on Winston Churchill. We visited the war rooms in London on our trip in February. Okay, Robar, we will save that for the intermission. Because we're not doing that in the middle of the period. But I do appreciate you asking, and yes, I will. Yes, I will. Adam, which offseason will be more interesting, Dubas in Pittsburgh or Brad in Toronto? I will tell you which one will be more fun. The more fun one will be Toronto, because basically, you're going to know in the few weeks what Toronto is going to do. Because if they don't get it done this year, they're not keeping that core together. It could go beyond that. Remember, Brenan Shanahan, who has really done a great job Regular season, this team has been one of the highest scoring points teams of the decade. It's been amazing. Made the playoffs eight years in a row. Amazing. But no payoff success. So does the new CEO, Keith Pelley, say, Okay, time for a change here. I don't know if he'd be that quick about it. Maybe give Shani one more year.

[01:27:06]

But I know that the team on the ice would have to change. I'm talking about moving one of the big four, not Matthews, and he can't move to Varas. You just signed Willy up to an extension. Martyrs got one coming. Not easy choices. In Pittsburgh, Man. Okay. I have had no indication of this. Oh, here we go. Besser. Oh, my God. I thought Miller had it there. I thought he had it. Did not have it, but close. Boy, they look good tonight, or at least by grading on a curve, they look good. It's not been a great run. Ian Cole misses the puck. What was that pass to? Jt Miller. So Dora, back to Cole. So, yeah, what was he saying? I think Pittsburgh is going to have some tough decisions to make. I wonder, if you're Kyle Dubas, what do you do? You're locked into that Carlson deal unless you want to hold them back. If they really believe that the team that they were in the last month or two, post-trade deadline, is the team that they are, which I would caution them against because a A lot of teams take their foot off the gas once their playoffs are guaranteed.

[01:28:35]

What do you do? Is Lataan gone or does he retire because there's another health issue there? Malkin's got two more years because he signed for four years. Do you move him? And then what do you get? You don't get great value. Who do you sign? It's not a great free agency year. I'm excited to see Michael Bunting and Cydney Crosby play because I think Bunting is going to get 40 goals, and everyone's going to be like, Why didn't the leaf sign him, too. Well, because he couldn't get a whistle. But I'm telling you, Pittsburgh is not going to be an easy turnaround. It's hockey, and it's the Metropolitan. It's the worst division in the sport. They can make it. They can make it. But the goal isn't to make the playoffs, guys, win Pittsburgh. The goal is to win the Stanley Cup. It's to give Crosby a couple more runs. It's to get him in there and give him a shot. Guys, 37, 38 years old-ish. He can't do it all on his own anymore. You got to have some good support for him, and Pittsburgh doesn't have that. I think Toronto will be more fun.

[01:29:41]

Pittsburgh could be depressing because maybe there's a conversation with Crosby where you go, Do you want to go play with Nathan in Colorado? I know he's never considered that, but these conversations, they come out of nowhere. What you think one month is inconceivable becomes a fact next month. It's the NHL. Okay, here we go. Knux, turn it around. We got a two on two here. Di Giuseppe, Bluger, not much doing there. They get off for a change. 7:20 We're 6 left in the second period. Because Metro is so bad, the turnaround is easier than other divisions. Yeah, I agree. It is. But turnaround to what? Are we turning it around to be the New York Islanders? Who finished third in the division? How's that going for them? Are we turning it around to be the Washington Capitals who were the second wild card? How's that going for them? If you think that Detroit's going to let another year go by and not make the playoffs, you're dreaming. They're going to make the playoffs next year, come hell or high. Oh, my goodness. What a save by De Smith. Okay, we got a little bit of a pushing match here.

[01:30:56]

Okay, so this is interesting. So this is Nashville, Evangelista is trying to get whoever he's jumped on. Evangelista has got a penalty, but now he's trying to grab... Is that Hughes? Oh, my God. That is Hughes. Trying to make him take one, two. Evangelista is off. Hughes is smarter than that. That's a playoff move. Oh, I took a penalty? Well, I'm going to try to get you when it take one, too. There's no way they give Quinn Hughes a penalty there, is there? Come on. No way. What happened here? No, he just ties up a stick, so nothing happened there. Where was the penalty, other than, I guess, he just wanted to grab Quinn Hughes? Yeah. Jeez. Anyway, some good questions. If you want to fire it up in the super chat, guys, I will answer some questions for you. We'll hang out And by the way, Willy P 93, again, just thank you for upgrading to SDB VIP ad free. Yes, Willy P 93. Hey, guys, we have a thousand people watching. 1045. That's amazing. I love that. Hey, Adam, I don't know if I missed it, but What made you decide to stream this series over some other just time of day thing?

[01:32:18]

No, because time of day thing means I start the series at 10:00 PM. No, what made me decide to do this was the fact that I was dead wrong about the Nashville Predators. I said it was ridiculous that they had their trip canceled and that their lineup wasn't that good. They lost a couple of bad games after the All-Star break. Why was Barry Trotz punishing the equipment staff and the coaching staff and everybody else who doesn't make the money that the players do by canceling everybody's trip to the sphere to see you two. And then, of course, they go on a 14-0-2 run. So listen, I need to get my revenge. They had their revenge on me. I must get it back. I can't let Sleeping Dogs lie. Go, Vancouver. Go, Knux. As I've always said, you know me, my Knux, noted Knux fan, Adam Wild. I need Nashville to go down. I need Nashville to go down. And listen, the city has been amazing to me. Every time I'm in Nashville, Steve and Jessie and I have the best time we've ever had. But I'm sorry. Oh, I did. Oh, somebody people are saying this is your face, Mike.

[01:33:20]

It is. You can buy this at stpn. Ca. You can look at me every single morning. Imagine what my wife has to deal with. Imagine. I know. It's brutal. Rich M, are we back on Spheregate? Rich, that's why we're doing this. That's why we're doing this. I'm being honest. I need to see Nashville go down. And Nashville is like, Ha, we'll pay you back by having the most boring hockey you've ever seen in your life. I love seeing Zdora throw the body, though. He said, Imagine that guy coming at you. That's scary, huh? That wouldn't feel good. Yeah, Evangelista, what is going on here? What is this? What are we doing here? Hughes had his head on. What are we doing? What are we doing? So Hughes is off. They're both off. For what? I don't know what Hughes did there, other than, I'm going to muscle you back. Okay. Well, I said the next call would be a Vancouver penalty. I I guess they had to call it both. I was wrong. Here we go. Four and four. This favors the Knucks, I would think. You get that big line out there. Obviously, not having Quinn Hughes sucks.

[01:34:49]

But there's Myers with a shot. That's Vancouver's eighth shot of the game, everybody. Yay. At this point, we can clap for every shot. We might hit 20 shots by the end of this period, which is something we couldn't We didn't hit 10 at the end of the first. It's been exciting by this series, standards. If you've watched Winnipeg Colorado at all, oh, my God, what a series. It's amazing. The chain, Rollston. Feed people, feed people. Yes. My gripper friends. My pedicure, my pedicure maniacs. All right, here we go. We got a Nashville penalty. Really? Really? Four on three, kids. This is going to be good. And for a whole minute, look at that. Oh, no, it's going to be... Is it... No, they're both going. What happened? Yeah, Nyquist, you're going for that. Yeah, JT Miller, you're going for that. Yeah. Okay. Well, man, I cannot believe that we have less than 20 shots at this combined. But that's a Nashville Predator's Hockey, baby. Joe, if Crosby goes to the abs, I would be a fan. But that is producer Drew's team. I would need a hot shower after that. I still don't know if that would be enough.

[01:36:17]

Yeah, I get it. I get it. Listen, producer Drew, he not only deserves your hate, but he wants it. It sustains him. I don't know if you've ever seen Ghostbusters, too, but there's the big blob that's circling under the street, and it's just feeding off of New Yorker's hatred, and their rudeness, and their swearing. That's Drew. Drew will only get bigger the more that you hate. The only way to neutralize Drew is to become an avalanche fan with him if Crosby goes to the apps. That's all I'm saying. Adam, we have no clock. Can you call all the time every now and then? Yeah, Dylan, sorry about that. Sorry about that, buddy. I know. I got to do that. Something Sometimes I forget, and I will make sure we do that. Maddie said she'd cue me on that, too, because sometimes I get on my talking spurts, and then I don't shut up and whatever. I will do a clap for you for the face off so we can line it all up. We just got a GM sponsor here on Sportsnet, and then we're going to get to the face-off. A little replay. Oh, that Michael McCarron hit.

[01:37:30]

I can't believe that he just laid out Casey DeSmith. A little recap of the game. Okay. All right, here we go. We got four on four hockey, baby, and I think we've got it for three minutes now? Two and a half minutes? Two and a half minutes of four on four hockey. Let's have some fun. And this is, again, this favors... Yeah, it says four and four, 52 seconds, but didn't two other guys just go? Anyway, I have to tell you, this favors Vancouver if they can get possession. And what Roman Yosey is doing right now, which is swinging back, I I have to do the clap. I'm sorry. That just maintained possession. Oh, yeah, no. Mikheil out there on a four and four is interesting. If you haven't watched Mikheil up close, I have, that guy's got sneaky speed. Look, he just made a run at the net. Had he got his stick down and was paying attention, which is rare for that guy, unfortunately, he would score a lot more. We saw in Toronto, he could score a lot. I know he makes a lot of money in Vancouver to play on the fourth line, but he's a good, good player.

[01:38:48]

Just maybe a guy that gets buried in a deep lineup. Vancouver is holding the fuck. What I want to know is, are we back at five on five? Here we go. Lynn home in deep, one man down. Vancouver is playing a little bit more defensive than they were earlier. And I say that with the asterisk of they didn't have a choice earlier but to play defensive because Nashville was making them, or at least play boring. We are five on five, kids. What are we What are we doing? Just another offside. 4:17 left in the third. 4:17. Don't worry, guys. I will be doing my history corner. I will do a history corner right after the play stops for Winston Churchill. What story can I tell? Because I read a huge biography, three-parter on him. There's lots of stories with him. Okay, Maddie is telling me to to get ready to clap. Guys, does the linesman fake it? Does he fake it till he makes it? Yeah, he fakes it and kicks somebody out. Remember, guys, you're not here to see the hockey players. You're here to see the linesman. Yes, kick Teddy Bluger out. There we go.

[01:40:16]

Sam Lafferty loses the draw. Yeah, nothing like... Ref sure showed him, fourth-line center. You can't know. We got to be fair here about our face off. Here we go. Oh, good save to Smith. Nice little set up by Nashville. Luke Chen has a bigger shot than that. I'm surprised he didn't just wind up. I guess he wanted to get a floater at the net. Evangelist in Hughes. Okay, they're just going at it. This is just what it's going to be. This is game three. You start to hate each other. You're seeing each other's stupid face every night, over and over again. Just too much. Warrior Wamp, reps are prima donnas. You know what? Honestly, I can't complain about the refs in this series. They've been great. They've been great. There have been a couple of times where I'm like, Guys, it's the playoffs. Don't call that. But other than that, I can't complain. I can complain about the linesman in the last game who kept fake drop the fuck, can't stand that stuff. Here we go. De Smith knocks it away with his paddle. Okay, so we got Novak, Evangelista, and Jankowski out there. Good little line.

[01:41:28]

Haven't done a lot in this series. Evangelista has been involved, though. I think Jankowski was just stuck in the corner with a Vancouver Knuck. They're just all over each other. It's a little four-on-four action. Top line for Vancouver is out there. Quinn Hughes, floater in, looking for the tip. And McDonald just pushed a Vancouver Knuck into the net to knock it off. And that should be a penalty. To me, that's a delay of game. Why are So they just pushed Suter into the net, knocked it off, and then they're like, You know what? We're going to punch you down, too. We're going to just give you a big old punch to the face. That's for going for our goal tender who we pushed you into. That, to me, is a delay of game. Mcdonald totally got the whistle there that he wanted. Watch when they play this. Genkowski. Oh, yeah, that was closer than I thought. Wow. And then look at this. Watch this. Watch Suter, 24. Watch what McDonald does. Yeah, just push him. Look, how does the ref who sees that not call delay a game? That's a delay a game. All day, it's delay a game.

[01:42:43]

Okay, I'm complaining about the refs now. Now we're officially in the playoffs. What's Andrew Brunet got to complain about? What are you whining about, Andrew? Zdorow can't keep the buck in. Goes up, puts it right back into the crowd. It's an icing, but goes onto the net, so it can't be icing. Ian Cole, Nikita Zdorow. Zdorow gives it up. He's going to have to outmuscle the Predators here. Kiefer Sherwood, Michael McCarron, Cole Smith are on for the pred, so it's the fourth line. Remember, Michael McCarron is the guy that absolutely laid out Casey to Smith in the first period. Got a penalty for it. That was a clean hit. And that's icing Vancouver. Oh, man, that King's Oilers game tonight is going to be fun. If you're asking if it'll be more fun, like better hockey than this, probably. But you know what you're in? You're in a stalemate match. You're in Just everybody, we got completely equal strengths. Vancouver is as good on offense as Nashville is on defense, and it's just an arm wrestle right now. It's like this. They're making that ugly face. The toddler has to go to the bathroom face.

[01:44:02]

That's what they're doing. Miller, take the... Oh, my gosh. The linesman dropped the puck 74. Okay, 245. Puck is dropped. Oh, that drives me bonkers. What are you talking about? Who are you talking to? Both guys had their sticks in the air. Who are you talking to? We got 2:27 left. Nashville has 15 shots somehow. Vancouver with eight. That is an improvement on the first period. The first period, we had eight total shots between both teams. Ryan O'Reilly, who has looked dangerous. If anybody's looked dangerous for Nashville, it's been Ryan O'Reilly. Always good in and around the net. And you could see Nashville trying to open it up. And they're doing a good job of opening it up. And this is where teams like the Leaps, and I'm going to bring it back to the Leaps because everything's about Toronto, and I am a Leaps fan. I watch a lot of Leaps hockey. When Toronto opens up a game, and most Toronto games are pretty open, they can't defend. Nashville is opening up the game a little bit when the right lines are out there. The Nyquist O'Reilly line. When it's out there, Foresberg, they can open it up.

[01:45:21]

But they have the defense and the smarts and the responsibility to not let Vancouver take advantage of them opening it up. Because Vancouver has only got eight shots. Nashville is out shooting Vancouver double right now. Okay, this wrap, 74. Are you kicking Bluger out again? Come on, man. Just put it down. Let's go. Play some hockey. They need to get the refs a pitch clock. Or sorry, the linesman. You have five seconds to drop the fuck. Stop wasting our time. And it's only for the linesman, not for the players. Here we go. Rodic, Bluger. Can he spring somebody? It's not icing. That's a good play. Oh, big hit. Bluger's open. Oh, D Giuseppe couldn't get it over in time. That would have been fun, though. It was a nice idea. Quinn Hughes back on the ice, taking some hits, giving some hits. Wow, the Nashville forecheck Getting some stuff done. We'll see if they can create an opportunity out of this. Vancouver regains. Garland's got the Puck possession right now. He's going to do a little breakout, be super fast, turn style Nashville, tries to get around, and he does. Good little move. Nobody there to support him, though.

[01:46:47]

You needed one of the other Knucks down in the other corner there. They've waived off the icing. Tyler Myers with a big hit. He missed game two. Good to have him back because he's gigantic and takes up a lot of space, and you need that. Also shoots the buck. Quinn Hughes, I feel like that was a trip behind the net. Did that feel like a trip to you? It certainly felt like that to me. They're not going to call it, though, because they've called too many Nashville predators. But guys, Penalty all day. Jeremy Lozan in deep. Petterson with the buck. Kiefer Sherwood with a big hit on Petterson. He shouldn't be allowed to do that to Petterson. No, nudges him again. How about this? Fourth line out against Vancouver's top guys, and doing a good job, too. Until right now, with Petterson coming in, there's 11 seconds left. Oh, there's a shot. So Vancouver now has nine shots the whole game. Nine, and that's icing. So we're going to get an offensive zone face-off if linesman number 74 will allow us to. He'll just stay in there for an hour. I'm going to fake... I'm going to do it.

[01:47:59]

I'm going to drop it. No, I won't. Three seconds left in the second period. Then we'll do a little history corner. We'll do a little history corner. Here we go. All right. So Miller is getting set up here. Do they get the shot over to him, or is it Ronick? Lindhome is going to go for the face-off. That's got to go to, I guess, it's going to go to Besser. Because here's the thing. So Lynn Holmes is the right shot. He's sweeping to the right here. O'reilly is going to tie him up because he never loses a face off completely. But if they can, yeah. See, O'Reilly played that perfectly. Just didn't let the fuck go anywhere. Yeah, that's the guy you want in the playoffs, Ryan O'Reilly. I was a little salty when he left the leaves, guys. I'm not going to lie, but it It's hard to hate a guy like that. He's so good. Hey, everybody. Listen, so what we're going to do, there was a request for a history corner earlier in the period, so we're going to do that. And then we're going to play a little clip from the SDP.

[01:49:13]

So here's the deal. You wanted a Winston Churchill history corner? I got one for you. I got a crazy story. Did you know, after he was Prime Minister in Britain a couple of times, Winston Churchill, obviously a portly man, would go on speaking tours. Back Back in the day, you know how we're going to do Boston Pizza tomorrow night in Bowmanville? People used to pay to see Winston Churchill speak because you could hear him on the radio, but to see him live in person, you could see him on the television occasionally if you had a TV, but it was like, Oh, my God, you're going to be in the same room, read the same air as Winston Churchill. So he used to go on these worldwide speaking tours. And back when they used to do these things, they It wouldn't be 20 minutes. These speeches could go for three hours. But people would act like it was a rock concert. You'd sit, and at the end, you'd be like, Whooping and throwing your hats and being so excited, whatever. Winston did one of these speeches, and he's out, and I forget what city it was in.

[01:50:22]

It was in the United States, I believe. He steps off the street, and obviously, his mobility is not great, and he gets hit by a car. Winston Churchill hit by a car. Can you imagine being the driver that hit Winston Churchill? You got to remember cars back then, too. Think like late '40s, early '50s cars. Some of them were pretty rounded. Some of them were pretty pointy. There was a lot of pointy ends on cars back in the day, like poke your eye out stuff. Winston gets hit by this car. Mercifully, it's not too pointy, doesn't puncture anything. He breaks a whole bunch of ribs and is obviously rushed to hospital. This is ridiculous. He wakes up and He's in a bit of a coma for a bit, and he's in the hospital and not feeling good. Being Winston Churchill and being a very curious man, he talked to the doctor about the force that he would have had to have been hit by for a car to do that damage. What the doctor says to him, he compares it to a shotgun shell. It's essentially Winston Churchill getting hit by the car was the same force as getting hit by a shotgun at point blank range, only it's a car versus shotgun shells.

[01:51:55]

Winston not only works this into his routine for the the rest of the tour, but continues to brag about it for the rest of his life. He said, I know what it feels like to get shot by a shotgun. Hilarious. He also used to watch movies in his house on reel to real, those old film projectors, with his dog in his lap. If there was ever a scene where things got scary or sad, he would cover the dog's eyes because he didn't want the dog to see anything sad or make it upset. There's your Winston Churchill history corner. There's so much on Winston Churchill. I just thought I'd give you something completely niche and that nobody else should know because who needs to know that? All right, now, we're going to cut to an SDP clip so I can take a little bit of a break here. What do we got here, Maddie? Edmonton and LA and the Dallas-Vegas series from the SDP. Here is the clip. Let's roll it. When you look at the... Just look at the box score, okay? La gets three in the first, Edmonton gets one. If Edmonton just comes out stronger in Los Angeles, this is over, right?

[01:53:09]

This was in Edmonton. No, I know, but in game three.

[01:53:12]

Come out stronger. Oh, if they come out stronger in game three. This is over. Sorry.

[01:53:17]

I'm not sharp. This is over.

[01:53:19]

And neither were the oilers. Hey, whoa. I just think I could be wrong. Crazy stuff happens in the playoffs all the time. They're There's such a talent gap here. There's such a talent gap here. Yeah. And it's impossible. How's LA supposed to prepare for McDavid? Now, one thing I did want to show you guys. I don't know if you saw this clip, and I'm going to send it over to you, Jesse. Did you see McDavid playing the ping pong?

[01:53:46]

No. Are we moving off the game?

[01:53:47]

Well, I just wanted to show you this. No, it's McDavid being the ping pong ball.

[01:53:53]

Okay. Yes, I did see this, and he was laughing.

[01:53:57]

It was funny.

[01:53:59]

He enjoyed it. He's getting shoved all around by the LA King. Got to be careful, though. Reminds me a little bit too much of Ben Sherratt tossing Matthews around.

[01:54:08]

Oh, okay. Now, talk about that.

[01:54:10]

Well, so what that was is the least we're like, No, Namaste. We're not going to engage in this nonsense. And Ben Schirraught still proceeded to go, and basically Hulk with Loki, like smashing them through the concrete and everything. And being the pacifist there didn't help the least in the series. Not that McDavid should try to fight three guys at the same time.

[01:54:36]

Well, he was alone. I don't know what he's going to do here. So this is how it ends, what we have on screen right now. But if we rewind it just a couple of seconds here, you You'll see that...

[01:54:46]

Oh, Adrian, kempé.

[01:54:47]

We're doing this in reverse. The first cross-check is a little high. Look at that.

[01:54:52]

Gavrakoff, yeah, it rides up.

[01:54:54]

A little high, and then Kopitar hits him. Hey. And then...

[01:54:59]

Kempé.

[01:55:02]

What else did you want to say about the game, Jess?

[01:55:07]

I don't think we should write off the Kings. We've seen hot goalies steal series before, and they're proven that they can get enough offense through this Edmondson defense. So this might be a lot closer than we think. It might be a six or seven game series here between the Kings and Oilers.

[01:55:24]

Now, I want to talk a little bit about... Steve mentioned this earlier, your Stanley Cup pick is looking a little rough. Vegas up 2-0 over Dallas. How do we feel? Steve, you got the floor. 3-1 game.

[01:55:38]

Dude, the stars are a really, really, really strong team. Even if they get knocked out in the series, they'll still be an extremely strong team. This will be a fascinating offseason for the Dallas stars if they get eliminated because you When you get knocked out in the first round, I think you need to look at it and go, What did we do wrong? And so far, you played a team four million over the cap.

[01:56:09]

Hold on. Is Jake... Oh, sorry.

[01:56:12]

No, no. What I was going to say is I didn't expect Vegas, even though, yeah, they're juiced to the gills. They're so loaded up. But you have guys coming off an injury, guys who haven't played in a while, guys who were guaranteed to be rusty, and even the guys who, let's say they were just resting, they've never played together, man. Hurdles never played with these guys. They've never played together as a cohesive unit. That's going to have some rust. That's not going to look very good. And they take two out of two in Dallas. Get out of my face.

[01:56:49]

I can't believe that. I want to throw out there that the Vegas Goldenights had 26 shots. Is Jake Oettinger the answer for Dallas long I wonder if he's battling something because he looked unbeatable for a while. Jess, what do you think?

[01:57:08]

I think there isn't a lot you can take away from this series if you're the Dallas stars because they played well last night, and they ran up against the best defensively coached team in the National Hockey League. Just looking at some of the numbers that were in the game from the game last night, they They had 11 shots in the first period, 10 the rest of the way. In the last five minutes, while the Golden Nights were up by one goal, they did not allow a single shot on goal.

[01:57:45]

That's crazy.

[01:57:47]

The score effects of hockey are supposed to work in the opposite direction. When you are down, the other team has more chances. And with the Vegas Golden Nights, they were down one goal. It's It's not even like they were up by a million. It's not even like they were up by a million. And they didn't allow Dallas to get a shot on goal for the last five minutes of the game. That is just an impenetrable defense that you just can't get through. And if you're Dallas, you're happy with your game, and you just can't get through them because they're just a little bit better.

[01:58:17]

And it's not like Logan Thompson has been unbelievable. He was very solid last night. Obviously, he only allowed one bloody goal. But game one, he was very beatable.

[01:58:26]

A Swiss cheese.

[01:58:27]

Oh, man. Man, man, man. So you get a game where their goalie looks incredibly human and you still, with home ice advantage and everything, you head into Vegas with a 2-0 deficit. You may not play in your building again this year.

[01:58:44]

And you go back to last season when they beat them in the Western Conference finals and you say, This team just knows how to play us. They got our number right now, and it's going to be hard. I guess we need to get a little better for next year and just hope we don't run into Vegas again.

[01:59:01]

Who are the teams down to nothing in their series?

[01:59:04]

Washington and Dallas.

[01:59:05]

Washington, who we all assumed were going to get their asses kicked. The Islanders who most smart people assume were going to get their asses kicked. I am not smart people.

[01:59:17]

The Dallas stars. I forgot the Islanders were down.

[01:59:19]

Yeah, Dallas stars. They were off them and blew it. I forgot the Lightning were in there. The point I was going to try to make as well, there's a bunch of teams that we didn't really expect to win their first round. And the stars. But I guess stars, lightning. Yeah, they're pretty good.

[01:59:34]

My favorite stat in this game is that there were 108 hits thrown, 55 and 53, and one penalty each. That sounds about right.

[01:59:45]

There was only one infraction committed. That's right. That might be the cleanest game of all time. Yeah. Nothing else could have been a penalty.

[01:59:53]

How is that even possible?

[01:59:54]

Jamie Benz out there just being clean.

[01:59:57]

Yeah, because exactly, Jessie.

[01:59:58]

Thank you. Marsha So didn't do anything. No. Petro didn't take any liberties. No.

[02:00:03]

That's amazing.

[02:00:04]

That is your reference to shit.

[02:00:06]

I haven't even been in it through the first two games, and last night was the first night where I was like, Well, We're back, baby. Apparently, Jesse Blake is in the chat bringing up the crab people, making it happen. Hi, Jesse Blake. I want to ask, how did the Stanley Cup hunt go? Did you continue to have zero Stanley Cups? I was just wondering, is it zero cups, Jesse? Zero? That's rough, buddy. I think you'd be better at this by now. Actually, no, I've loved Jesse's stream because he's crowdfunding or crowdsourcing the general manager decisions. Since he's not actually making the decisions himself, it means that he doesn't have to take responsibility for them. And that's great. I love that Jamie Ben named so often from Sam here on SDP. Yeah, because Jamie Benz is a factor. He's been such a good player for such a long time and also mean and injures people and wrecks people. It's not cool. We don't like that. Dallas Coach isn't good in the playoffs either. Yeah, except that Dallas gets through. That was Lily. Dallas gets through, though. Dallas gets through. Dallas almost made the Stanley Cup Dallas did make the Stanley Cup finals in 2020.

[02:01:33]

Different coach, but still. Maddox-mcaulay. Thoughts on Marner's performance so far. Well, it's funny. Depending upon who you ask, it'll be anything from he's okay or he's been fine to he's been the worst player that I've ever seen in my whole life. The truth is, it's somewhere in the middle. And so the answer is not good enough. Is Is anything other than he's been spectacular good enough? No. No. So no, he's not been great. They need him to be a factor. He hasn't been. It doesn't mean it can't be, though. That's the thing. That's why everybody expects him to be a factor. Anyway, it's tough being a lead fan. Let me tell you, playoff performers don't show up. Brutal. Jesse Blake. Jesse Blake. It was a fun cup. Aaron Bruckner. Big fans, boys. I grew up in Pittsburgh, and I love that you still support the Berg. Yeah, Aaron, I am trying to get the boys one of these days to get down there. I want to do a Pen's Leaps game on a Saturday and a Steelers game on Sunday. I don't know how we would do it. I don't know if it would ever line up to do that, but I would love to.

[02:02:56]

Or just a Pen's game on a Saturday and a Steeler's game on a Sunday. There is nothing like seeing a game in Pittsburgh. It's so much fun. So, so, so, so much fun. Where do you live now, Aaron? Do you still live in the Berk? Eric Lechner. I would trade Marner for Rasmus Dalleen. Bring in a true stud defenseman and take the extra cap room and spend six million on a stud goalie. Eric, so here's the deal. If you were going to trade Marner, it's not NHL 24, right? We got to remember, it's real life. You're going to trade Marner. You're going to trade to Buffalo. He's got one year left, and he's got a no-trade clause. So instantly, no. Buffalo probably looks at you and goes, Why would we trade for Mitch Marner? Why would we trade RasmusDaleen for Mitch Marner? We're not going to do it. And RasmusDaline makes a lot of money. The least could probably deploy that money differently, although I love RasmusDaline. Pry him from Buffalo's cold dead hands. And as I said, and it's Buffalo, it's cold. Not a chance. Not a chance that Marner accepts a trade to Buffalo unless they really convince him.

[02:04:06]

I think Marner hasn't even considered a trade yet. They haven't gone to him for a trade request. He has a no trade clause. They'd have to ask him first. And then any team that acquires him is going to say, Listen, okay, Toronto, Brad for a living. I love the player. But if he doesn't sign an extension here, I'm only willing to pay this. If I'm able to talk to him and I'm able to get extension done with him, then I will pay this. You have not only to ask Marner to forego unrestricted free agency, which is his right to go for, he also has to want to go to that city and sign there. That's significant. Do you think Marner is playing injured? He could be. I haven't heard anything. I think that he had a high ankle sprain, and those... I've never had one, so I can't actually relate to what they're like, but they seem to be a real problem for hockey players for long periods of time. It's like something that bothers you for a long time. You think about how Marner skates and plays. He's a real edgework guy. He's a brilliant skater, amazing skater.

[02:05:14]

Even a little bit of pain, and by pro-athlete standards, a little pain is a lot of pain by our pain standards, it's going to throw that off a little bit. This is the NHL. You're talking about inches here. So, yeah, I can see that. I can see that potentially that an ankle still bothering him? Listen, man, what Mitch has done for this city has been spectacular. But I also get and understand and share somewhat the frustration that fans have in Toronto for the lack of performance in the playoffs, and that's a yearly thing. The one thing that I love about him is that you can never fault him for not trying. He is earnestly out there, given it his all, whatever he's got. It just hasn't worked out yet. As a Lee fan, I'm not hoping to trade him. I'm hoping that he stays and they win a cup. I would like that to start tomorrow night on Steve's stream. That's what I'm saying. From Adrian Purcell, high ankle sprains when you have to stop and start on a dime. No good. Okay, there you go. Ranch Althor. I don't understand why we're having offseason conversations, considering the Lees still have games to play.

[02:06:25]

Well, Ranch, this is Toronto. Actually, it's supposed to be Vancouver-Nashville stream. And Vancouver and Nashville fans, being as rational as they are, are not talking about the offseason yet. Although I have seen Vancouver fans talk about what it's going to cost to resign Dakota Joshua, who's going to get a big payday, I think. He deserves one. I wonder if Vancouver has to move on from Mikheil this offseason to fit that under the cap. I don't know their cap off by heart. There's 32 teams. It's difficult to know every team off by heart. But I look at I look at Dakota Joshua, especially in the first game in this series, although when he is on the ice, he's a factor. That's a guy that has so much future. I think they're talking about him right now on the broadcast, actually. I love him. I absolutely love him. He's a great PK guy. Yeah, they are just showing him on the PK. Great PK guy, great four checker, exactly what the Knucks want to be. He's young as well. I don't know, man. I love that guy. I think he's going to be great. Okay. Matty's telling me to get ready to clap because it's almost time to clap and get into the third period, baby, where hopefully we could see even more shots.

[02:07:37]

Maybe at the end of this game, what do we have? We had a combined 40 shots last game. Can we get over 45 combined shots? Can we get over 45? I'd like that. I'd like that a lot. Here we go. We're off. I'll give time updates, too, throughout just because I know that it's a pain to line up your Oh, my goodness, my brain. It's a pain to line up the stream with your method of watching hockey, TV or stream or however you watch. By the way, how many people are trying to use the NHL TV app and how many people is it not working for still? Because there was a lot of complaints at the beginning of the game. Bro, if you were on the Wall Street, you would kill it, Stpn. Well, I don't know. Do you mean like, If we were on the Stock Exchange? I don't think we're going public anytime soon. There'll be no public offerings on the Penny Stock Exchange. The Bruins would never trade McAvoy for Marner. Zero chance. Mcavoy is the captain. Yeah, Nobody is expecting Mitch to go to the Boston Bruins. Guys, guys, guys, what are we talking about here?

[02:08:53]

What we're talking about here is Mitch Marner lighting it up for Toronto tomorrow night. That's what we're talking about. That's what's going to happen. Willy's back. There's going to more room. I like it. I like it. That is offside. Nashville starts on the four check again. Again, they're almost double shots that Vancouver has. If Nashville loses this game, it won't be for lack of trying. It will be for lack of talent. And they can get more talent this offseason. This is a really good team that tries really hard and plays a good system. You need a couple of guys who can be a little bit more dangerous on offense. It'd be all right. You would. You would. You can't just go through four. Oh, here we go. Miller in and around. Can he get it to Besser? Nobody with them. Where's Patterson? Where did he go? Did he already change? He changed. Smart. Here we go. Besser. Hughes got the fuck back. That was some good... That's what you need. You need some chances. Here we go again. Besser off the post. Good shot. Good shot, though. It doesn't count as a shot. That was a good shot.

[02:10:11]

Fooled UC Soros, that's for sure. Cronik. Hughes. Hughes gives it away. Nashville has possession. Luke Shin calls for it. Hoglander be all over him. Nashville again. Oh, do we have a penalty there? No, not a penalty. Sure looked like a trip. I think Jason Zucker just got away with one. Nashville with a good force check here. Casey to Smith, stay in your net. If you're a goal tender, wear big pads. I think that's the line. If you're a goal tender, make sure Michael McCarron lays you out. That's how it goes. That's the one. Fourth line on for Vancouver, Lafferdi, Di Giuseppe, and Bluger. Going in deep. Uc is out to play it. Possession, Vancouver. Teddy Bluger. Kind of rhymed. Listen, shots are 18 to 9:00. There's 17, 18 left in the third It's just this game. This game. This game. Stephen T, do you have the game playing in your headphones? I don't. Maybe, perhaps I should, but I'm just worried that I wouldn't be able to focus. I could mute on and off, but it's also difficult because I'm watching on TV behind the screen here, and it'd be really difficult to have it in my ear and have it on the computer where I have to mute and unmute, and then I'd be shaking the camera.

[02:12:03]

It's just better to just watch the game on mute. Dapper Duck gifted another five SDPN memberships. Thank you, Dapper Duck. Michael Borland. Wow. Thank you for the super chat, Michael. Only care about the Leifs games, but dropped into this to agree with you on the Leifs Atmospheres. I was there. The crowd was fine. One win in two playoffs is the problem win and the barn jumps. We're talking about what we played at the first intermission there. Thank you, Michael. Appreciate that. Listen, blaming fans when a team has been abysmal in the playoffs, I'm sorry. I can't blame fans for that. Is it the concert venue's fault or the fans that go to the concert if things go south? It's the concert venue. Take responsibility. Oh, Ian Cole almost put one in past Casey De Smith, and he did not mean to. But Casey De Smith stopped. God bless him. Marley's just tied the series, of course, according to Warrior Wamp. Good for them. Happy to hear that. Always cheering for the Marleys. I think it's going to be amazing when guys like Easton Cowen, oh, big hit, Brock Besser. People forget how solid that guy is, man.

[02:13:19]

Don't underestimate Brock Besser. There's a reason he can just drive the net through you. That's what makes JT Miller and Brock Besser so difficult to deal with on the same line. Oh, do we have Yeah, we have a pocket of over glass. Can you show us what you see on set? Yeah, sure. Okay, I'm going to try not to unplug my microphone here, but this is here. This is what I see. It's what I'm looking at. See? There's our Tim Hortons. There's Casey DeSmith making saves, and it's back to me. This is actually where I sit for the podcast. This is my exact seat. There you go. Yeah, that's what it looks like in here. I'm in the studio all alone, and I like it. It's nice to be in our little studio and watching this game with you guys. I'm loving this. I absolutely love this. And by the way, we're doing this again on Sunday. Actually, you know what I meant to do? I meant to show you something. Remind me, I'm going to get to something when the play stops here. We're going to do this again on Sunday, and the game is at five o'clock Eastern Standard Time on Sunday.

[02:14:35]

Oh, big save by to Smith. So we're going to go early. We're going early this weekend, just when we didn't need the sleep because we could sleep in. It doesn't matter. We're good. We're set. Quinn Hughes breaks the fuck out. There's 15, 15 left in the third if you're trying to align your stream. D. Giuseppe, Makev, offside. Unknowing. There's been a lot of stops and starts in this game. I can't lie to you Been a lot of everything in this game. Annoying. 21 to 10 of the shots from Nashville. Casey DeSmith Smith, perfect so far. He's been great. He's been really great. Knox fans, you can breathe a little easier, I think, about Thatcher, unless this goes in right here, and then I spoke too soon. Predators have been pressing. They've created some good chances, and Ian Cole almost accidentally put one in his own net. De Smith made sure that didn't happen. High stick, face off, defensive zone for the Knux. Verona says, I'm always amazed at how small the table setup really is. Yeah, you know what? Most studios you walk into, they're small. They don't We need to be that big. You don't need that much space.

[02:16:03]

We're not moving around that much in here. Anyway, De Smith or Samson off? Well, right now, De Smith, Dissolving Dream. Right now, De Smith. Are you releasing a recorded show from your BP event? Yes, we are. Our SDPs this weekend, I might interrupt. Oh, man. Nashville almost had one there. Dakota, Joshua, breaking it out of the zone. Just quickly, it's going to look like this. We're going to do a quick... Vancouver offside there. We're going to do a quick show tomorrow, like 45 minutes to an hour. Then we're going to rush Steve off to do his stream, and he's going to go home. Then Then Sunday. Oh, wow. That almost went off a Vancouver player in the net. Just completely switched gears on to Smith there. Then on Sunday, we're going to do a full SDP after the Leaps game. Then once the SDP is done, then I'm sticking around and I'm going to do the Vancouver-Connects game because that's at five o'clock Eastern. Then Monday, we won't have a show. I'm not sure what we're going to do Monday and Tuesday because the Leaps game is not till Tuesday night, which means we wouldn't have a show till Wednesday.

[02:17:22]

I'm figuring this out on the fly. I don't know what we'll do. Maybe we'll do a show Monday as well, like a shortened one. I don't know. I don't actually know we can't do a show Monday. There's other things going on. I don't know what we'll do. But we're going to do shows after Leifs games. As you know, I will be streaming as well, and Steve will be streaming, and Jessie will be streaming. We're all here doing some lives. You won't be rid of us. Hey, everyone, stick around on this stream for the Oiler game. Yeah, honestly, the Oiler game is, again, I feel like the oilers should just be sweeping the It's not because I disrespect the Kings. It's just that I have so much respect for the oilers. They're so good. That starts at 10:30 tonight. I'll be honest with you. I'm going to go home after this stream because when you're talking for three hours by yourself in a room, I'm not really by myself. There's a thousand of you here right now, which is super cool, by the way. Thank you for being here. You do get a little bit tired.

[02:18:28]

You're not as sharp as you used to You're not as sharp as you were at seven o'clock. At 10 o'clock, you're not as sharp as you were at seven is what I'm trying to say. Jt Miller wins the face off in the defensive zone. Let's get it out. Let's get some pressure on the Nashville Predators. Let's get that. The one thing I'll say, Vancouver has spent a lot of this time in their defensive zone in the third period. But, again, I'm going to relate to this as a leaf fan because this is how I see the world of hockey. When the leaves are in in their own zone for this long, disaster is bound to follow. With Vancouver, I don't see that. I see a team, there are some chances. There are some like, squikers that can, you know what I mean? But when you compare and contrast with the leaves, you look at it and you go like, Man, I'm looking at this and I'm thinking, this doesn't look so bad. They're playing well defensively. They're keeping it along the wall. The one thing that they need to do is make sure that that pock does not go in front of the net when Ryan O'Reilly is there because he will be there.

[02:19:33]

He switches in. You sometimes see Nyquist come in, too, although he's not as comfortable with it. Ryan O'Reilly has been very dangerous from that spot. Thatcher Demko did a great job in game one of stopping him as much as he could. And then De Smith, obviously, there was no shots last game. Dapper Duck, I believe you just gave another five memberships, and thank you very much for doing that. That's very you. I'm so glad for everybody that gets to try these new memberships out, our VIP section, because You get an extra episode a week. And also, if you go to the ad-free level, you can watch our shows without ads. Now, I want to throw this out there. I have, I don't know if you guys know this, but you can subscribe to our channels on Spotify, on Apple, and on YouTube. And Apple Music or Apple Podcasts are actually featuring us this month. So they're putting us on their front page. And if you ever go on the Apple podcast page, you can see it. I'm going to drop a link in the chat. So it goes, apple. Co/listenwithstp. And they asked us, they actually reached out to us.

[02:20:40]

Can you believe that? They reached out to us and like, Can you guys tell us your favorite podcast? What do you listen to? They'll have other podcasts on the network I mentioned, obviously, LFR and CJ Show and Drew and stew and all the great stuff we have on our network. But then underneath that, you're going to see other shows that we would listen to. Some of them are non-hockey, and I think that's cool. You get a little bit of a glimpse into what Steve and Jessie and I are listening to on our own. Usually, I'm listening to one of these shows on the way into work, which is cool. Yes, Hardcore History gets a mention, obviously. So, yeah, check it out. Click on that link. I don't know if you guys have ever heard of the show, The Rest is Politics. If you love world events, really, really good. Like, really, really Great show. I found it on TikTok, of all places. Tiktok does work for promotion. All right, here we go. Into the So this is driving me crazy. Vancouver can't get much going five on five against Nashville. Thank gosh. Thank goodness, Nashville took a couple of penalties tonight because this is...

[02:21:58]

It's painful to watch Vancouver five on five. Look at this. Ten shots with 13, 15 to go in the third period. Who could have called that? Hey, we need to see you guys throw down in Tecan or Streetfighter for a VIP episode. I don't think... That's by crash test fetus, that's 5 pounds that you just gave us. Are you from across the way? Where are you from, by the way? We I like to see Streetfighter, Tecan. I've never been good at Streetfighter or Tecan because I just match buttons, and I hope that I win. But there are people that know the combo is off by heart. That would take me forever to learn, but I will still do it. I'll do it for you. Patrick Hamos, Adam, are you a helldiver? I was going to download it, and then the Fallout series, guys, came out, and apparently, it's amazing. I haven't had the chance to watch yet because I was watching something else. I started I started playing Fallout 4, which I've had for years and never played. So I'm playing Fallout 4 now, and I'm dying a lot. But man, what a good game.

[02:23:09]

Julian Nikola, Leifs lose the series. How many players are gone? First off, we are talking about the Knux and the Predator. Secondly, I don't know how many players will be gone, but I would say that one of the core four is gone. That's my bet. That's my bet. I don't know that for sure. Tim Robichaud, in your opinion, Who is Morgan's ideal D partner? Here we go with the least questions, which I'm fine with, by the way. Who are some of the comparables that Tree could actually go after in the offseason? I think it's too early to tell, but I think the best I've ever seen Morgan Reilly look is next to Luke Shen. It's such a bummer that Nashville has him now because he's been a factor in this series. I loved Morgan Reilly and Luke Shen together. Bush gives Morgan a lot to work with as well. You don't have to get crazy expensive. I mean, you could. You'd have to move money from somewhere else. But I don't think you need to get crazy expensive with a guy like Morgan. You just need somebody who puts him in his happy place, lets him play his game.

[02:24:13]

Nashville pressing deep, by the way, right now. The thing is that Vancouver is doing a good job keeping them to the outside. If you're watching Vancouver, they're going full defense mode. They got one guy deep. They're clogging up the neutral zone. Leads to a turnover. Besser with a shot, or sorry, Miller with a shot, set up by Besser. Fourth line for Nashville. That's a a favorable matchup, considering that they're on a away ice. Not bad, Rick Taukein. Not bad at all. I would like to see Adam in his Zdorow shirt. Michael, I love Nikita Zdorow. I think he's awesome, and I'm mad that he's not a leaf. I love watching him throw the body. Okay, we got the Vancouver penalty we've been looking for. We knew it was coming. Nashville had taken too many penalties. Things were going too well for Vancouver. Refs need a tie here. We need an overtime from the refs, right? What is the penalty? What's the penalty? What do we get here? Okay, we got there. Remember, I can't hear the game, so I can't hear what the announcers are saying. Okay. Carrier, listen. Here's what I think about that tripping call.

[02:25:38]

I don't think it should be tripping if your stick is down on the ice first and somebody trips over it. If there's no overt movement, you should be able to put your stick on the ice and hold it there, like charging in basketball, where it's like, I have planted, and if you move me off this spot driving to the net, that's charging. In hockey, what Carrier did there was perfect playoff draw penalty, which is he kept his feet moving and kept pushing through the stick, and basically Besser just keeps his stick there and Carrier draws the call. I think that that's the amendment I would make to that. I think if your stick's there first and their skates come later, I don't know, it shouldn't be tripping to me. Maybe I'm wrong. Hey, Adam, who do you think wins the West? That is from Peppermann. All right, Peppermann. Who do I think wins the West? I'll tell you who I hope wins the West. I hope we get... I hope we get an Edmonton, Vancouver, second round. No, we can't get an Edmonton, Vancouver, second round. Could we? Let me look at the brackets here because I want to know what our...

[02:26:56]

I want to go through this here, this game, man. All right, here we Yeah, we can get an Edmonton, Vancouver, second round. I'm hoping we get an Edmonton, Vancouver, second round on one side, and I hope we get a... I want Winnipeg to get through, even though I chose Colorado. Winnipeg-vegas rematch from the Western Conference final from 2017 would be phenomenal. And that Winnipeg team was so good. They were so good. Vegas beat them, and everybody... Nobody Vegas shot in that series, and they shouldn't... Winnipeg was so good, and they're good again this year. It's like, Man, it's a good team. My thing is, then I would like to see Winnipeg, Edmonton, or Vancouver. I want a Canadian team in the finals. I do. I'm being that guy. I really do. I'm annoyed with how many times we've had people in the playoffs and it doesn't get past the second round. Edmonton has been close. I mean, you know what? If I'm going to be completely biased, I know we're root in Vancouver on in this series. It's amazing that they're here. But I don't think any hockey fan can tell me, unless you're a Knux fan, that you don't want to see Connor McDavid in the finals.

[02:28:16]

I would like to... Oh, wow. Puck over glass. That sucks. Oh, it was a door off. He's hating his life right now. Guys, this is where games fall apart. This is where games fall All apart. Two-man advantage for 21 seconds. Tauket is just fuming. Okay. This will be good. This will be exciting. Finally, we've got an open hockey game. It only took a two-man advantage. Shots are 22-11. Nashville over Vancouver. Vancouver, though, up to nothing. 9:14 left. Ref will not drop the punt because he Just remember, we're here to see him. And smartly, O'Reilly didn't take the face off because he knew he'd get thrown out. Puck dropped. Let's see how Vancouver takes this. Was Zdorow, one of their key penalty killers, in the box for two minutes, trying to get the cross pass. What a save. Ryan O'Reilly puts it over the net. Man, Nashville did a great job setting up there. Ian Cole, Tyler Myers doing their best. I told you, Ryan O'Reilly on the power plate in front of the net. Watch out. Vancouver is trying to take away the passing lanes, but there he is. Oh, Ian Cole just stopped the goal.

[02:29:38]

Or is that Bluger? No, it's Ian Cole. Wow. Got to stick there at the last moment. Total pray for me play. You're going to see a lot of Roman Yosey shots from the point here because they're going to try to go for the tip with O'Reilly. Sisson is in front of the net. Okay, Bester is out of the box. We got a five on four for 130. Vancouver is going to be able to change here, which is key. Had Nashville been able to hold the blue line there, that could have been bad for Vancouver because their legs must have been burning. Lynn Holmes gets it out. Good play. Dakota Joshua out there. What do we have? We have a stoppage. Looks like it's going to be a face-off. Why this got close? Okay, watch Watch Ian Cole's stick. Watch what he does. Look. Oh, goes off his hand and over. O'reilly just wants. He wants that back. He's going to be thinking about that tonight. All right. Centerize, face off. 113 left, 8:27 on the clock. And when I clap, it's down. There we go. It's the weakest clap ever, but I can never trust that the linesman actually is going to drop the buck.

[02:30:58]

And I hate clapping and then having you press play and then it not working. Here comes Roman Yose. They're going to get set up again. Evangelista, Novak, PP2 on for Nashville after the first power play had a really, really good power play. Oh, good shot led to a remount. I think, ideally, if you're evangelized on that shot, you want to get off the pads. I think the way to beat De Smith for Nashville is going to be one of those shots that hits him in the knee when he's down in the butterfly and then comes back out to somebody standing in front of them. They get the rebound and they score. That's what I think. That is your top-tier analysis. 14 seconds left on the power play. 7:24. Mcdonald bringing it up the Vancouver getting ready to bring the big boys out. Tyler Myers is a big boy, is out. That wasn't the big boy I was talking about, but boy, he's tall. Zdorow and Myers will be on the ice at the same time. That's a lot of giants. It's like the Ents from Lord of the Rings when the Ents go to war.

[02:32:21]

Here we go. Ronick back. I'm assuming they're going to go line one for Vancouver here. No, Miller is going off. Maybe line two. Yeah, there comes Lindholm. Petterson still out looking for a change. Got to get possession. There's Lindholm. Backpedals. Hughes is not ready behind the net, but makes a great play. A little bit of a slash there on the Nashville player, but it worked. It's the playoffs. He gets called for that in the regular season. Nashville player also tried to sell it, let's be honest. I'm not anti-Nashville here, but he did. You got to try sell it. You got to do it. It's not an insult. Dakota Joshua out there. Lindhome changing off. And we got a whistle offside. 6:11 to go. Guys, this game is going fast. Listen, it's not been the most exciting game. Hey, Jake, sitting in Peter's Drive-in line listening. Love the content. Jake, would that be Peter's in Calgary? No. Get a milkshake The best milkshakes in the entire city. Colin Tully, Adam, Steve has given us help to win game 2. Sincere, I cursed us. Please help us for game 3. Go, Kings, go. Okay, so Colin is a Kings fan.

[02:33:47]

He's a Kings fan, and he desperately needs a Kings win. Steve has given you help. How did Steve give you help? I must have missed that. Go, Kings, go. Listen, man, I love the Kings a lot to start the year, and they really let me down. They really let me down. I was really hot on the Kings, and I specifically am targeting Pierre-Luc Dubois on that. Really wish he'd been better. My predictions would have gone better. Hallow 'n' A Cribs. Okay, when you made that name, Hallow 'n' A Cribs, did you say it out loud? You said you love video games with some historical precedent like Assassin's Creed. What are your Your favorite purely fictional games. Okay. Oh, my gosh. You're asking me this, and of course, my brain is mush right now. Hang on. First off, I like the Far Cry series a lot. It's spectacular. There is another one that I'm thinking of, and I I'm just trying Fall Out 4 now, and I got the update this morning and that thing. Non-historical is... Oh, my gosh. Why can't it? Horizon: Zero Dawn. Finally, it came to me. I love that game. Have you ever tried that?

[02:35:15]

You wake up in the future and there's robotic dinosaurs walking around, and this sounds really stupid, but it's so cool. You got to figure out... Humanity has regressed to a tribal society and you're one of them, and whatever reason your tribe hates you, and you got to figure out a way to survive, it's awesome. It's such a good game. Verizon Zero Dawn, baby. Try that one out. So good. I'm trying fall out for right now. Pretty sure I like it. Lots of fun. What else do I like? I liked Star Wars Battlefront and Battlefront 2, and I like the original Battlefronts as well. And then Fall in Order and Jedi survivor are good. I'm really excited for Outlaws. Still debating whether or not I'm going to pay the upcharge to unlock that jab of the hut mission. Am I that much of a sucker for Star Wars? Kind of. Jesus. This is such a turk question. Super chat. Was Paul Pot good? No. Next question. Paul Pot was one of the most evil people that ever lived. Here we go. Save on to Smith. Ryan O'Reilly in there right in his grill. 5:13 left. I'm going to do a little clap here.

[02:36:38]

Elden Ring is elite. I've heard that. Adam, did you get into Gears of War? No, I didn't. Somebody people are saying, Last of us, Skyrim, Mass Effect. See, here's the thing. I only have... I'm getting ready for the clap here. I only have so much time being the father of a five-year-old, so I have to pick and choose. I thought, follow. Why not? Seems like a lot of fun. I'm going to do that. There we go. Face off. Petterson loses the face off. Yosey with the shot. To Smith with the save. Here we go. The username is hollow, and my name is Bryson. No, I never expected others to say it out loud. Also, Horizon Zero Dawn is great. Okay, well, Bryson, thank you for chatting. Horizon Zero Dawn is one of my favorite games of all time. So good. More people should play it. Absolutely amazing game. Absolutely amazing. I never got Casey De Smith catches a little bit of a bouncer there. I never got to play Forbidden West, again because I'm a child, and they take up a lot of time. They're very selfish. I don't know if you know this about children.

[02:37:44]

Selfish. Needing of your time, end of your attention, never stops. But when I do get to play, I'm going to play Forbidden West for sure. I can't wait to play that one, actually. We're just talking about non-historical games. The Last of Us Part 2 is 100% worth of time, especially with the remaster. You know what I want, guys? I want an update to games. I think that Bethesda just put out updates for Forfallout 4 and 76. I want updates that aren't buggy. I always wonder about that, and I know it's tough to make video games. But why has it especially lately been that Every DLC, update, whatever, it's like, Buggy, buggy, buggy, we got a patch. Why is it that every time I buy Formula One with early access, it doesn't work properly for the first three months? I'm not buying the F1 game until I know that it's good. I'm one of those people that's not buying early access on anything anymore because A, it doesn't make sense. Do I need to play it three days early? No. I probably won't even get to play it three days early. I'm a dad. It's just what happens, man.

[02:39:02]

You just don't have the time. I also run a company with my friends. We got to work. I don't know, man. I'm annoyed right now with the state of video games. Some of them are so good. Like, Helldivers, obviously incredible. I pay attention to Helldivers for the updates, and I don't even own it. That's how cool that game is. Anyway, it's They rush these games out. Helldivers is the perfect example of exactly what a community wants. Listen to the community, give them what they want, keep it simple, make it fun. It doesn't have to be that complicated. By the way, everybody that owns the Starship Troopers IP are just crying their eyeballs out right now because Helldivers is the exact game that any Starship Troopers game should have been. Okay, Zdorow with the Puck. We got 4:41 left in the third period here, folks. Nashville out shooting Vancouver, 26 to 11. We still have not hit 40 combined shots. For the third game in a row, Nashville is making Vancouver play their game. And for the third game in a row, Vancouver should and is winning. There is a huge talent gap here. I I think Vancouver should have won game two, by the way.

[02:40:32]

I know it wasn't their best game, but let's be honest, they're still better. James Frotten in the Super Chat. Hey, Adam, what was your favorite thing to do in Halifax when you were here? When I was in Halifax, I had no money. Zero dollars. If it was anything, obviously, we used to rip out to the bars on the weekends, but we would pre-drink because that saves money. Then we had dollar shots or $2 shots, whatever it was. We got a bit of a pile up at the face off dot here. 4:10 left in the third. What we would do is we went... There's a lot of great places to go kayaking. There's a lot of great little towns like Lunenburg to go and see. Go see the Blue Nose, too. Summer time in Nova Scotia is amazing. I know when the sun goes down, it gets a little bit cold and buggy and that thing, but I don't think there's a more beautiful place on Earth. I truly am in love with that province. I can't say enough about it and would probably move back there, but that won't be happening anytime soon. For me, it's just a magic place, and I'm so lucky to have lived there.

[02:41:40]

That's how I feel about that. Outdoor stuff, that's what I would say. Miller with a shot. Good. Saved by Soros, covers, and we're going to get an offensive zone face-off with 326 left for the Vancouver Canucks. How about that? Petterson just piled on. I I wonder if Petterson's a little hurt. Nashville, give them credit. They've done a great job in shutting him down. He's got the point tonight. But I wonder if he's hurt. Does he feel like the dominant Petterson to you? I don't know. Currently playing Rocket League while listening to Adam and his ADHD squirrel conversations. Jeremy, thank you for that. Hey, by the way, Jeremy, you You also must have ADHD because you're playing Rocket League and you're listening to me. It's a goal. It's a goal. Luca Vangelista, for the Nashville Predators and Things Just Mercifully, finally got interesting. That's a good goal. We'll watch how this develops when they play the replay here. So Nashville has been doing this for 30 straight minutes, and I'm talking about 30 minutes in the game. Nice goal. Right into the Vancouver zone. Vancouver has done a great job of keeping them the outside, but blown coverage there.

[02:43:08]

Evangelista is able to cut across and put one high on Casey DeSmith, who's been great tonight. Eventually, one was going to get through. He went high glove. It's what Gunner Stahl tried in D2. Worked for Luke, didn't work for Gunner Stahl. And that's got to feel good for Luke Evangelista. Apparently, that's his first ever playoff goal, and we officially have hit 40 shots combined. How about that? How about that? That is a nice goal. We got 306 left, and Nashville coming on strong. This is where I think it opens up. Vancouver has to be better. Vancouver needs better offense. They really, really do. Uc Soros is a spectacular goal tender. To have two goals in over 12 shots on him is It's a miracle. It's Christmas. Guys, you got to figure out a way past this in game 4. This is crazy what Nashville is able to make Vancouver do here. Vancouver playing And see, again, Puck to the outside. We are five on five, by the way, although it doesn't look like that right now. Puck is out of the zone off a skate. Nashville quick to turn it around. And they got the big boys out there, fear Phil Foresberg.

[02:44:31]

Sorry. Phil Foresberg. Phil Foresberg almost created a scoring opportunity there. I mean, he did. And remember I told you, just right off the pads, right off the pads when De Smith is in Butterfly. Wow. That evangelista shot reminds me what Marshan did in the leaves last two nights ago. Sizzons is there, too. I guess they were trying for goal tender interferences. I don't think there was goal tender interference there. They were looking at I don't see that. I don't see that. So we had a time out call, two minutes to go. Baby. How are we feeling? Okay, Remember how I said earlier tonight that this feels like a triple overtime game? Could you imagine? Can you imagine overtime? I can imagine overtime. I can. I can also imagine the fact that it might be really boring, and it might go on for a long time. Because Nashville struggles to score, and Vancouver straight up can't play any offense. I wonder what Jim Rutherford, they just showed him on TV. What's he thinking right now? What happened to my team? What happened to my offense? Where are they? Oh, there's Barry Trott smiling smugly. Yes, they play great defense.

[02:45:58]

They play great defense. Excuse me. Now I have the hiccups. Perfect timing. Everybody in Nashville on their feet, it's loud in there. When that building is rocking, it's rocking. It's ear- splitting. Such a great place to watch hockey. Teddy Bluger, big face-off win. That fourth line has been really effective. It's good for Tucket that he has a fourth line that's truly layable. You need that this time of year. Evangelista into De Smith's glove. Zdorow gets a high stick from Evangelista, tries to sell it. Raps are definitely not calling that. It doesn't matter what they do to each other. We got an empty net, too. So what do we think? Can the Knucks make it through the final 151? Or is Nashville about to tie this game up and send it to overtime 30 shots to 12 shots? If De Smith walks away with the win here, the entire city of Vancouver owes this man a drink. Like, wow, what a game he's put in. Big hit by Myers to separate the park. Perfect hit, actually. Okay, up the boards. Nashville. Okay, we're high with the defense. Roman-yosu. Oh, no, it's not Roman-Yosu. What am I saying?

[02:47:27]

Oh, no. Oh, my God. How did they not score that? Ian Cole is behind the goalie, trying to stop anything that might get through him. Not in yet. Nothing. Yosey at the point. Ryan O'Reilly, Yosey, played it back and forth. Let's see what happens here. Evangelista and Sizons in front of the net. They got a whole bunch of... Even Gus Nyquist is getting in there, and nothing. Tyler Myers, we got almost a minute left. Whistle blows with 1:02. Is it a broken stick? Is it a high stick? Guys, are we getting triple overtime tonight? Do we triple it up? It goes off a leg. That should have been... Did it go off Sisson's leg? Okay. Oh, man, I don't know. They were so close. Look at them jumping on the Good tip there by Sisson's. Good block there by Ian Cole. Vancouver using Nashville's tactics against them. Just block the shot. This is a sweaty finish. Who's sweating? Are we sweating in the chat? Baby, this is exciting. Uc Soros already at the hash marks, ready to leave. Thank you to Wilgram, who gifted one SDP membership. We do appreciate I appreciate that. Prophet Agamang.

[02:49:08]

If they tie it, you will be here a while, Adam. That's why I keep saying triple overtime. If Nashville ties it, we're going This game will still be played tomorrow. It's going to be like a cricket match, just never-ending. Bluger pressuring. Vancouver going with one guy high, making everybody else stay back. Trying to clog the neutral zone, but it doesn't work. Forrestberg open. Oh, Sizzons was open. Yosey with a shot, blocked by Teddy Bluger. Teddy Bluger is having a shift, and there is 20 seconds left in this game. 31 shots for Nashville, Only one has got by, Casey to Smith. This is exactly what the playoffs are all about. Ten seconds to go. Nashville pushing, Vancouver taking away all the passing lanes. Puck goes over the net. Three seconds to go. And the Puck is down the ice, and the Vancouver Knucks are going to win this game. Held to 12 shots, but it was enough. Wow. Teddy Bluger in some pain on the bench. I think Vancouver owes two people a drink tonight. Casey to Smith. Unbelievable. Teddy Bluger, just for that last minute alone. Spectacular. Wow. What a story that is. Twelve shots, Vancouver was held to.

[02:50:28]

That's a problem. Like, Rick Tucket needs to take his coaching staff aside and go, We need to do something about this. But I want to give shout out to where it's due. Vancouver defense, keeping them to the outside, taking away the passing lanes in the last minute there. And then, of course, and this is what's so exciting, is that last 10 seconds, there was spectacular Yose with the shot. But here you go. Teddy Bluger going to block it. Oh, right off the skate, and that hurts like hell. You just want to die. Oh, my God. Imagine how painful that is. But he did it. He did his job. And that's why you have Riga Latvia's Teddy Bluger. Did Can't our Garland just kiss Casey Smith? Do I smell fan fiction? Are we fan-ficking this one? Yeah? Guys, that was a great end to a relatively quiet game. That was fun. And listen, I want to say, we didn't get to 1,000 likes again tonight, so there isn't gripper content. We got to 6:02. It's not where we need to be for gripper content, but there's always Sunday afternoon. Guys, this was... I really love the last minute of this game.

[02:51:50]

That was lots of fun. Vancouver for game four needs to figure out their offense. How anybody in today's NHL can hold anybody anybody else to 12 shots, that's an average of four shots a period. How anybody can do that? I mean, you got to give Nashville huge props for that. Vancouver has got to figure this out. Rick Tucket has to figure this out. You got to deploy differently. You've got to figure this out. I don't know what they do. I would imagine that they're going to have to open up the ice a little bit, and I don't know how they're going to do it. It's the neutral zone that seems to be the problem. They can't get past the neutral zone and into Nashville's thing, but whatever it doesn't matter. Congratulations, Vancouver fans. You're up two to one. How does it feel? You're up two to one. You are two wins away, two wins away from the second round. That has to feel good. You are guaranteed now going home with at least two wins, potentially three. If they win on Sunday, we could have an elimination game five in Vancouver. You want to talk about a party.

[02:53:02]

I don't want to get too ahead of ourselves, but that'd be a party. Anyway, guys, listen, I'm going to wrap it up for tonight. I got to get ready for tomorrow. We got a crazy day ahead of us. Boston Pizza, Bowmanville, sold out in 90 minutes, guys. You sold it out in 90 minutes. We're going to have to do another one. We're going to have to keep the leaves in the playoff so we can do another one. Boston Pizza wants you to cheer for all the Canadian teams. So do I. Damn. Mt, you can't have gripper content on a Sunday. God will smite us. Hey, I want to do a quick to Maddie. Mad Dogs. Mad Dog ran the stream tonight. She was awesome. She's in her early 20s. I know she's going out partying after this, very likely. So let's let her go do that. I hope you guys have a fantastic night. Congratulations, Vancouver, friends. You did it. You're through. Well, you're not through. You're almost through. You're halfway through. Love you all. Have a great night. We'll talk soon, okay? Bye-bye.
