You're listening to DraftKings Network. For Bridget Christ, the road to love was not so straightforward. Bridgie, I forbid you for marrying that spendthrift, you Miles car. What the devil is that?

God bless football, Mikey A.

[00:00:57]

God bless football, Studats.

[00:01:00]

We have a lot to get to. We have two top fives. Billy tells me we are debuting two, not one, two brand new segments, and we have over-unders. No, we don't have over-unders. What do we have, Mikey A? What did the NFL release? They didn't release schedules yet, but they have opponents, but we have over-unders now. Is that what we have?

[00:01:22]

Yeah, DraftKings released their win totals for the year that you can bet on. I thought it might be fun to throw out a team. You guys guess what DraftKings has their win total at, and then we can play over under.

[00:01:35]

Okay, Billy, how do you feel about doing win totals without knowing the schedule? We know opponents, we don't know home or road, and without the NFL draft taking place.

[00:01:47]

We do know home or road.

[00:01:48]

You're off to a great start. To be clear, we do have the schedules, we do know the opponents, we do know a home and road. We don't know necessarily what of dates they're playing. We can play overs or unders because we have win totals that have been put out by DraftKings.

[00:02:06]

I've been off. I'm on vacation. Mikey A, you told me last night we didn't know if they were at home or on the road. You told me that last night.

[00:02:16]

No, I think you need to go back and take a look. I said the only thing we don't know is when. I said the only thing we don't know is when.

[00:02:23]

The when's important, though. The when is an important factor. I mean, playing the Dolphins in 90 degree heat or playing them 75 degree weather in December is a big difference.

[00:02:33]

Sure, it matters, but-Why are you shaking your head, Billy?

[00:02:36]

Because it's more playing them in like 95 degree heat or 93 degree heat in December. It's really a two degree difference at this point.

[00:02:43]

But those two degrees Billy. I mean, they're a big deal.

[00:02:46]

Game of degrees.

[00:02:48]

It's not a dry heat.

[00:02:50]

It's a game of degrees. I'm looking back, I was wrong. I was wrong.

[00:02:57]

I know. No one questioned I questioned it. Anybody listening? No one questioned who was right and wrong in this exchange.

[00:03:04]

You guys are right. Billy, what are your two new segments that we're debuting today? What's happening?

[00:03:09]

So I have a new segment that I want to debut called Mm-hmm or Mm-mm.

[00:03:14]

That's so good.

[00:03:15]

That's one of them. And then later on, we have a brand new segment. Well, they're both new, but we have a brand new segment that I want to debut called Off the Grid, Iron.

[00:03:26]

I like that.

[00:03:28]

I am so excited for that one.

[00:03:30]

You spent all night thinking about these, huh?

[00:03:33]

Yeah, I think they're good. We'll see.

[00:03:35]

Okay, what was the first one again?

[00:03:38]

Mm-hmm or mm-mm.

[00:03:40]

So you ask a question and we go, Mm-hmm or mm-mm.

[00:03:44]

I'll explain it when we get to it. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. We don't need to confuse people for no reason.

[00:03:49]

I do have a top five today. I have, If the offseason ended today, top five teams in the NFL.Wow.I know. It's big.

[00:03:59]

I I love that you brought it back. If the offseason ended today, it doesn't. But if it did, top five.

[00:04:06]

I have a question for you in that game. Well, I could save the question for the game until we get to it if you'd like to not confuse people.

[00:04:14]

No, let's confuse them.

[00:04:16]

Okay, so here's my question. When you say, If the offseason ended today, here are the top fives, does that mean these are the people that won the offseason, or is this, If the offseason ended today, and then the season ended today, these would be the top five teams?

[00:04:32]

If the offseason ended today and there was no draft, this is it. The next thing we do is start the NFL season, these would be my top five teams headed in to the NFL season.

[00:04:43]

To the start of the season, got it. So this isn't the winners of the offseason. This is just the best teams if this is how the season... So instead of if the season ended today, if the season started today, these are the top five teams.

[00:04:55]

If the season started today, these are the top five teams, according to me, in the NFL. Got it. Okay. Of course, I'm factoring in some of the moves they made during the offseason, but I'm also telling you the offseason ends today and the season starts tomorrow. Is that fair?

[00:05:10]

Got it.

[00:05:11]

All right, Mikey, you have a top five as well, right?

[00:05:14]

I do. Top five panic moves in the offseason.

[00:05:16]

So this is great. Okay, we're loaded today. A game of Mm-hmm or Uh-uh and Off the Grid.

[00:05:24]

No, it's not the name.

[00:05:25]

Okay, what's the name? Sorry.

[00:05:27]

Mm-hmm or Mm-mm.

[00:05:29]

And off the grid, iron.

[00:05:34]

Yeah.

[00:05:36]

Good.sufficient.

[00:05:37]

Pause?you got it.

[00:05:38]

All right, good. Mike, I want to get right to over on this because I'm excited. I need the NFL back in my life. Base starts up. I started up this week. We have the Masters coming up. I miss football, though. I really do. I miss football. Soon it's just going to be me, you, baseball, and Joey Chesnut. No one wants that. Anyway, let's get to overrunters.

[00:06:02]

All right, well, we'll start in Billy's backyard. We'll start with the Miami Dolphins. What do you think their over-under is set at?

[00:06:12]

I'm going to say, are half games involved in this?

[00:06:16]

They're all half games.

[00:06:18]

They all have a half game. Really? I'm going to say... It's high. I'm going to say...

[00:06:26]

I mean, the Jets. A lot of people like the Jets, Billy. A lot of people like the Bills. The Patriots are a bad team. Dolphins are in a tough division.

[00:06:33]

That's all I'm trying to tell. Ten and a half.

[00:06:35]

I would say nine and a half for the Dolphins.

[00:06:39]

Point to Billy. Ten and a half is the set.

[00:06:41]

Wow. Ten and a half. You like that? Ten and a half. You like them going over there, Billy?

[00:06:48]

It's a good line. It's a good line. Well, who are their opponents? Do you have that in front of you?

[00:06:54]

Opponents, right?

[00:06:55]

We don't know the date. Again, we don't know the dates. We No home and road locations. We don't know what days, which would impact, as you guys pointed out, degrees, weather degrees. It's a game of degrees, yes. If you're playing at home... Well, here's the thing about the dolphins, though, is that they always want to play at home. And if they're playing at home early, then the other teams will theoretically be struggling with the heat because it's going to be a lot hotter down here earlier in the year. But also, the Dolphins...

[00:07:26]

The Dolphins do that thing where they stand in the shade and the other stands in the sun.

[00:07:31]

Correct. And the dolphins, though, also haven't really proven to be able to go and win in cold weather cities. So the Dolphins also want to be at home in December. So Dolphins always want to be at home.

[00:07:43]

Yes. So I will tell you I'm going to miss that the AFC East crosses over with the AFC South and the NFC West.

[00:07:51]

Okay.

[00:07:51]

Do you have opponents, though?

[00:07:54]

I do.

[00:07:55]

Okay.

[00:07:56]

You want me to list all of them here?

[00:07:58]

I think for Billy to make an If you're going to perform pick, he needs a few opponents here. That's all I'm missing.

[00:08:02]

They're at Houston, they're at Indianapolis, they're at the ramps. They are home to Jacksonville, Tennessee, Arizona, San Francisco. Obviously, within the division, they're in and out. They're at Seattle, they're at Buffalo, they're at Cleveland, they're at the packers, and they're home against the Raiders.

[00:08:21]

I'm going under. That is a tough schedule. That's a tough schedule. That's rough. That's a tough schedule. That's rough. That's a rough season.

[00:08:29]

Listen, did you get the 49ers at home?

[00:08:34]

Yeah, but they get Green Bay on the road.

[00:08:36]

That's the best thing I've got for you.

[00:08:37]

Read me those road games again. Give me those road games again.

[00:08:41]

Houston, Indianapolis, the Rams, The Patriots, the Jets, the Bills. The packers. Seahawks, the Browns, the packers.

[00:08:53]

No one wants to make that Seattle trip. No one, especially the Dolphins. It's as far as you can travel within in the United States. Miami to Seattle. It's brutal. It's dreadful. Billy, you're going under there? You're going under there, right?

[00:09:06]

It's tough, man, because even their road games, it looks like three domes, if I understood that correctly. So they're going to be in the elements in a lot of these road games. I'm going over.

[00:09:18]

Okay, Bill, wow. Look at him just playing confidence in his team. He's going over ten and a half. You have them winning 11 games. Look at that face.

[00:09:27]

That's the face of a man that just lied to you.

[00:09:29]

Right to your face.

[00:09:33]

I know that face well. Anyway.

[00:09:35]

I have a tell.

[00:09:39]

And that's you tell us?

[00:09:44]

All right, give us another team here, Mike.

[00:09:47]

The Pittsburgh Stealers, over under how many wins. I found this to be an interesting line.

[00:09:53]

That's why I- How about Tomlin make up his mind? Stop with Russell Wilson, pole position. Justin Fields is the future. Just tell us. Give it to us straight, man. I mean, seriously, Russell Wilson is the starting quarterback for that team. Until week four. Right. But he's going to be the starter for that team week one until he screws up. So you're right.

[00:10:15]

I would say- Nothing he said is a lie.

[00:10:16]

No, I guess. Steelers. Tough division. I'm going to say not a tough division, Mike. Cincinnati, Cleveland.

[00:10:28]

No, it's a very tough division. Can I was going to ask you if you wanted me to give you a home and away opponents.

[00:10:34]

Well, no, let's guess. I'm going to say seven and a half wins. I'm guessing that's the over-under, seven and a half.

[00:10:45]

Well, who are their opponents?

[00:10:48]

Okay, so they are at Washington. They are home against the Chiefs. They're home against the Chargers. They're home against the Cowboys. They're home against the Giants. They're at Denver. They're at Vegas. They're at Philly. They're at Atlanta. They're at Indianapolis, and they're home against the New York Jets.

[00:11:11]

They got a lot of those tough games at home.

[00:11:16]

I'm leaving out the divisional opponents because we know that they're home.

[00:11:19]

I'm going to say... So they finished 10 and 7 last year. I'm going to say nine and a half.

[00:11:27]

I'm going seven and a half. The interview is right.

[00:11:29]

Really? The interview is right. It's right in the middle. It's eight and a half.

[00:11:32]

Eight and a half. Eight and a half. Wow. You're going over under there. I'm going over for the stealers.

[00:11:36]

I'm going over as well.

[00:11:38]

Yeah, that seems a little low. I don't see why you would expect them to regress that much.

[00:11:45]

They upgraded at quarterback any way you want to look at it, and it's still a Mike Tomlin coach team, and he doesn't finish under 500.

[00:11:54]

No, they've upgraded at quarterback, but that division's tough, and that division was without Joe last year. That would be my best guess.One.

[00:12:05]

More team. And then he can hit the teams? Yeah.

[00:12:05]

Yeah, one more team here, Mike.

[00:12:07]

Well, I think we got to do it. I think we got to do the Jets, right?

[00:12:09]

Oh, of course we did.

[00:12:11]

I think we got to do the Jets. And by the way, Aaron Rodgers is not going to be your next vice President. So you never know.

[00:12:19]

Listen, he never was.

[00:12:21]

Whether he ran or not. It's whether something else was occupying his mind. Yes.

[00:12:29]

Well, that will always be the case. I think we've learned.

[00:12:32]

You're right, Billy. It's a fair point. God, I hate them. All right, what are we doing here? Jets. I'm going to say Jets over, let's see, AFC East, Patriots Dolphins' Bills. I'll say Jets are eight and a half. Eight and a half.

[00:12:51]

I'm going to go with nine and a half.

[00:12:53]

Billy nailed it. Nine and a half wins for the New York Jets.

[00:12:56]

Look at Billy. Give me some opponents here.

[00:12:58]

All right. Home, they have the Texans, the Colts, the Rams, the Seahawks, the Broncos. Right. Away, they have the Jaguars, the Titans, the Cardinals, the 49ers, the Steelers, the Vikings.

[00:13:14]

Wow.

[00:13:15]

A couple of easier road games, except for San Francisco. Pittsburgh is always tough.

[00:13:21]

It's pretty easy, Mike. I'm going over. I have them going 14 and three.

[00:13:27]

Oh, Lord.

[00:13:31]

Why can you display confidence in your team, and I can't display confidence in my team?

[00:13:37]

There's a difference between saying maybe they win 11 and they're going to go 14 and three.

[00:13:41]

Do that thing- Because his team has done it.

[00:13:44]

His team has won that many games.

[00:13:47]

Billy, do that thing you do when you're lying. If I could make that face, I'd be making it right now. How do you feel, Billy, about the Jets? Way under?

[00:14:02]

No, I think they'll hit over 14 wins. That was so crazy. Fourteen wins is crazy.

[00:14:11]

So 13?

[00:14:13]

Wait, Mikey, what do you think?

[00:14:15]

Over the 14.

[00:14:17]

Yeah. Over 14. Great. Perfect.

[00:14:19]

Over the 15 and 2. Super Bowl. All right, I have top five NFL teams, if the offseason ended today and the season started tomorrow, Mikey has a top five as well. Billy has two new games to debut. Mikey is going to keep asking over-unders. We'll sprinkle those in as well. Billy, should we debut Can we give you one of your two new games today here on God bless football?

[00:14:48]

Yeah, let's do it. You want to debut a game that I like to call Mm-hmm or Mm-mm?

[00:14:53]

Sure. Yeah, it seems like an easy game.

[00:14:56]

All right, so here's how this game works for those of you who are playing for the first time, which is everyone, because this is the debut of this game. Mm-hmm or mm-mm, it works like this. I will tell you a story. I'll give you some details on said story, and then you'll just say, Mm-hmm, if you like the result of this story, or, Mm-mm, if you don't like how this story is looking to you.

[00:15:19]

Got it. Okay.

[00:15:20]

You know what I mean?

[00:15:21]

Yeah, I think so.

[00:15:23]

Okay, so here is the first story that we're going to play. There's new NFL kickoff rules now. They're very similar to the XFL rules. The kicker is going to kick the ball off from the 35-yard line. Defenders will line up, and at the receiving team's 40-yard line, the receiving team will then have nine players between the 35 and the 30-yard line. And then you'll have two receivers in the receiving zone. Now, this also effectively ends the surprise onside kick. Not happening anymore. Now, the hope here is that in the XFL, kicking rules like this resulted in 90 % return rates. The NFL is hoping to get 80 % return rates on kick offs. Last year, the NFL had a record low, 21.7 % of kicks that were returned. So they're hoping that this makes it jump up almost 60 % and brings the kick-off back. New kick-off rules, or Mm-mm?

[00:16:24]

Is Mm-mm an option?

[00:16:30]

I didn't hear that sound.

[00:16:32]

Yeah. It's confusing.

[00:16:36]

There were a lot of numbers there.

[00:16:38]

Basically, they changed the kickoff rules, and the kicker is still going to be in the same place. You're going to have the defenders downfield, so they're not picking up as much speed to go and hit potential returners, hoping that this is going to lead to more returns.

[00:16:52]

Okay, but you can't surprise a team with an onside kick anymore.

[00:16:57]

Those are done. Now, if you're going to onside kick, you have to inform the officials, and then you have to line up the way the old kickoff was. Got it.

[00:17:05]

Okay. Mikey, you want to go first?

[00:17:07]

Sure, I'll go first. I'm going to hit it with a hard, because-Wow.

[00:17:11]

I don't think you can expand. I don't think that's the game. I don't think Billy will let you expand. Okay. All right, then I want to expand. He gave an answer. I'm sorry. Hold on.

[00:17:21]

Yes, you can.

[00:17:22]

I was protecting your game. I didn't want him to expand until you gave him permission to expand. That's all.

[00:17:27]

You, sir, you were not protecting the game when you tried to answer with, You are not playing by the rules. Mikey is playing by the rules. He understands the game. Mikey, please, the floor is yours.

[00:17:37]

I think we've gotten used to the kickoffs being just a part of it, but the surprise on-side kick is going to get missed. I mean, we had one in the Super Bowl, probably one of the most exciting plays in the Super Bowl.

[00:17:51]

Sean Patey.

[00:17:52]

We're not going to get that anymore. I'm okay with not seeing a bunch of kicks returned. I want to see the fantasy players out there. I I don't want to see the guys that we pay. I don't want to see some fourth receiver who's there to return kicks, returning kicks. I want to see the offense.

[00:18:08]

Now, I will tell you this. One person that did say, and a team that said, were the Steelers and Cordero Patterson, because Cordero Patterson, after this rule was announced, signed with the Steelers for a two-year, six-million-dollar deal. And it turns out, I didn't know this. I don't know how many people did know this, but Daryl Patterson is the all-time leader in kick returns for touch downs with nine.

[00:18:32]

Really? I didn't know that. That is shocking.

[00:18:36]

You would have thought it was like Devon Hester or who's the guy? Hall. Dante Hall from.

[00:18:41]

Wasn't Hester more on punt returns, though, right? I think.

[00:18:45]

I guess.

[00:18:45]

Yeah.

[00:18:46]

Well, anyway, so it led the Steelers to sign him, and the Steelers have not had a kickoff return for a countdown since 2017.

[00:18:54]

Quick tangent. Imagine being a special team's coordinator for decades, and now all All of a sudden, they're like, Hey, however you did it, now you have to find a completely new way to figure it out.

[00:19:05]

Well, also, imagine being the special team coordinator who's going in and trying to do all of these. Okay, this is what we're going to do with a kickoff return. This is what we're going to do with the punt return. And then Braxton Berrios, or whoever is back there every single time, just fair catching it or letting it go into the end. Because I'd rather not get hit.

[00:19:21]

We're good. Can you guys name a special team's coordinator?

[00:19:25]

You just got the game.

[00:19:32]

He accidentally fell into the game.

[00:19:36]

Yeah.

[00:19:38]

All right. You want another one? Or do you want to keep talking about kick-offs?

[00:19:40]

No, keep going. I told you, that's why I didn't want Mikey to expand. I mean, All of a sudden, you get bogged down on kickoffs. We're discussing Devon Hester. Okay? I'm sorry, Bill. Because we have so much to do today. It's your game. It's your game. Okay.

[00:19:52]

Just a couple of guys talking about the NFL and the kickoff rules. Anyways. All right. There we go. So So here's the next one. I love this. The NFL has changed some tackling rules. You can no longer do the hip drop tackle. The hip drop tackle happened 230 times last season and resulted in 15 injuries, 20 to 25 % the injury rate of a regular tackle. You want to go first?

[00:20:26]

Yeah, I'll go first here.

[00:20:28]

Go ahead.

[00:20:29]

Okay. Do I need to expand?

[00:20:34]

If you'd like to. Don't feel any pressure, too.

[00:20:36]

Anything that helps make the game safer for the players that are playing it, given that after 20 years of doing this, I know some of those players, I know how much pain they're in. I'm all for it.

[00:20:47]

So I'm going to go with a hard...

[00:20:52]

Yeah.

[00:20:53]

Players didn't want it. Players are the ones playing. They didn't want it. The NFLPA even said that they're going to try and fight it. At some point, it is a contact sport, and those injuries, that sucks. But it's not like these are head injuries. These are regular injuries that could happen in a contact sport. Players don't want it. I don't want it.

[00:21:17]

Here's the rare follow-up to Mm-hmm or Mm-mm. It's a secondary one, but it's an addendum to the original question. So when discussing it, NFL Competition Committee chair Rich McKay said, I've heard defenders say before, and I hear them, Hey, you're putting me in a really tough spot. You're saying, I can't hit here. What do I do? My response has always been, Well, you can't do that. Mm-hmm or Mm-mm?

[00:21:49]

It's an obvious.

[00:21:51]

Because that's just a great answer. Hey, not my problem.

[00:21:55]

I'm in charge of the rules. You can't do that one. Okay, I can't hit him here. I can't hit them there. I can't tackle them this way. What can I do? I don't know.

[00:22:05]

I don't know.

[00:22:06]

Figure it out. Figure it out.

[00:22:07]

Just tell me what you can't do.

[00:22:10]

I can't do this. I can't do that. His response, Rich gets the game.

[00:22:18]

He really does.

[00:22:21]

You want to tell me what I can do?

[00:22:24]

I don't think anyone gets the game more so than Rich McKenney.

[00:22:30]

All right. You want one more?

[00:22:31]

I want five more. I want so many more.

[00:22:34]

Okay. On the Around the NFL podcast, friend of the show, Coleen Wolf, said that she got from a reliable source at the NFL Owners' meetings that there was a, quote, heated meeting between Robert Salah and Woody Johnson. When asked to clarify the situation, she said, She wouldn't say that it was an argument, but it was a little awkward. Mm-hmm or mm-mm?

[00:23:08]

I'll go first here, and I will say a hard because Connor Hughes, who covers the Jets, and tweeted out that he was sitting feet from them the entire dinner, never heard anything. None of this happened. Colleen Wolf wasn't there. Connor Hughes was there, said it never happened. And he said, Robert Sala is sitting there week after week getting fastballs thrown at him by New York media, but in the middle of a dinner with his owner, he's going to scream at him.

[00:23:38]

So you're saying Colleen Wolf, you're saying her reporting is not accurate? I'm saying that she was missing- She's very credible and a friend of the show.

[00:23:46]

I'm saying she was missinformed.

[00:23:48]

She wasn't there. She wasn't there. Someone else was there.

[00:23:52]

I'm there. I'm on the show. So conundrum.

[00:23:59]

I think any interaction with Woody Johnson is awkward. That's fair. That's a mm-hmm.

[00:24:06]

That's a mm-hmm. That's a mm-hmm.

[00:24:11]

Imagine, by the way, had Aaron run for vice president or whatever, you have potentially in your locker room as part of your organization, a former ambassador to England or whatever, and a vice president-elect.

[00:24:26]

What an organization. But no football players.

[00:24:29]

And we're back.

[00:24:39]

How do we think that that game went, Martin?

[00:24:41]

I loved it.

[00:24:43]

Yeah.

[00:24:44]

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:24:45]

I mean, there are- You know what I say, it should be a staple.

[00:24:47]

Right. It's late March. We're just waiting around for the draft. We're waiting around for the start of the regular season again. I mean, we're just waiting around. So I love the game. I did. I think it's a great game as we wait around.

[00:25:00]

There's... I had some meetings, not for air, even though we're on air. There's some exciting things going on around the NFL draft. I'd say, get your passports ready for Detroit, but I won't say anymore.

[00:25:12]

Really?

[00:25:13]

I won't say anymore.

[00:25:14]

Okay, but you had some meetings, huh?

[00:25:16]

Meetings have been had.

[00:25:18]

Okay. Why do I need a passport? Do you love a good meeting?

[00:25:21]

Do I love a good meeting? I could do without most meetings, to be honest with you.

[00:25:29]

Sure. Can I answer that for Billy?

[00:25:30]

But if you get a good one, are you like, Man, that was a good meeting?

[00:25:35]

I like a good productive meeting. However, I find that most meetings I'm in are not good and productive. If I'm in a meeting of more than three people, I would say, Usually not productive. I like this game. I know where we're going with this, Mikey. Let's go back to Over three people is a presentation, not a meeting. Okay, I was going to say over-under from the first segment, number of people for a productive meeting. What would you set the over-under at?

[00:26:12]

That is great. I thought Mikey was going there. I thought he would fall on your lead there. Apparently, we were wrong. Billy, what is your exact question here? Because I like this. What is the proper amount of people in a meeting to have a productive meeting?

[00:26:27]

To lead to a productive meeting, I'd say the over or under three and a half.

[00:26:33]

Three and a half.

[00:26:34]

Three and a half is the answer. Three and a half is the answer.

[00:26:37]

I would say when you get more than three and a half, there's a lot of small talk on the front end, a lot of chit-chat, you get nothing done, and the meeting last 90 minutes and you walk out going, We didn't accomplish a single thing.

[00:26:50]

Here's the thing, though. Do you need an odd number in case of some vote when there's two sides?

[00:26:56]

Good question.

[00:26:57]

Do you need an odd number? So should it be four and a No, over four and a half is way too many.

[00:27:03]

Way too many.

[00:27:04]

Got you. Right. So three is the perfect number.

[00:27:07]

I would say that four is my max. After four, it's like, okay.

[00:27:16]

I don't mind a fourth if the fourth person is taking notes on what we're talking about in the meeting. You know what I'm saying?

[00:27:23]

How about this? In terms of meetings, more than four people with strong opinions makes it not a productive meeting.

[00:27:33]

Agreed.

[00:27:34]

I think if you get two people with conflicting opinions, it's not a productive meeting.

[00:27:40]

Yeah, but that's what the third is for.

[00:27:41]

That's why you need a third.

[00:27:42]

That's what the third is for. And a fourth can be in there as long as you know the fourth is in your pocket. You know what I mean? If the fourth is in your corner, then you're good. That's when you start stacking the meeting. Do you give them a wink?

[00:27:55]

Like when you walk in?

[00:27:57]

No, it's understood beforehand. You know this is the agenda of today's meeting. Sure. This is how we're leaning. You know what I mean? It's not. You have the conversation like, This is what I think, and you can almost get the thoughts before the meeting, and then And then potentially, maybe you don't show your hand. Don't do one of these, and they're like, What do you think about this? Don't do one of those. Just have a like, Here's the agenda. We're going to talk about this meeting. You know what I mean? And then you run it by the person, and they're like, What do you think about X, Y, Z? And they're like, they give you their thoughts, and then always them, right? Even if you disagree, just, Mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm. And then if it's not really what you agree with, you're like, I got to be honest with you. I've been talking. I don't think you really got to be at this meeting. You know what I mean? And then you tell them if they're not in your site, you're like, I don't think you really got to be at this meeting. I think it's going to be a lot of nothing.

[00:28:55]

If you're getting a bad vibe, yeah.

[00:28:57]

Exactly right. And then if you're feeling like, I got an alley here, let's just hop on a couple. Let's not do that. We'll take that a lot. Let's just hop on a couple of minutes, see where it goes. I think we should do this one.

[00:29:06]

You have to bring a trusted confidante, a trusted friend into every meeting, and we'll side with you. You know that person is in your pocket. It's like Andy Reid bringing spags back every single year to be his defensive coordinator.

[00:29:18]

A hired gun of sorts. You know what I mean? Sometimes, you even bring them in, and then maybe I could really rile this person up. And then I don't really have to say all that much. I just agree with them when they go off deep end. Maybe reel them back slightly, but just like, Jeff over there is making some good points. A little crazy, but I get the point of what Jeff's saying. Let's go with what Jeff has to say.

[00:29:42]

I like the message, not the messenger.

[00:29:44]

Gotyeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So three with a confidante.

[00:29:49]

Three plus someone in your pocket.

[00:29:52]

Right. Three plus one. When needed. Plus one is in your pocket, right? Exactly right. Do they stay in your pocket?

[00:29:58]

Yeah. So worst case, Worst case, if you're outnumbered, you then have caused a draw and a stalemate, and nothing can happen. That's how you play the game of a meeting, my friend. Okay.

[00:30:10]

Who would be your confidante, Billy? Who would be the person in your pocket?

[00:30:14]

It's case by case. I was going to say it's got to depend on the topic.

[00:30:16]

Exactly right. It's not one person. You go around and you canvas what's going on over here. What are we talking about? And then you got to find the right person.

[00:30:28]

But, Mikey, I think you know Billy now, okay? You've gotten to know him really, really well. I think Billy's the guy you stick in your pocket thinking he's going to agree with you.

[00:30:36]

That's what I was just going to say. I think Billy's a really good pocket guy. I think Billy's a really good pocket guy.

[00:30:41]

No, I think he's an awful pocket guy.

[00:30:43]

I got some good pocket presence.

[00:30:45]

You stick him in the pocket. You think he's going to agree with you when you pull him out of your pocket and you pull him out of your pocket and you're going to lose you.

[00:30:51]

You don't know. I'm a bad pocket. I got good pocket presence. The worst. But when it comes to that, when I know that I'm being used as the pocket guy, my this face goes away, and I'm just like this. So much to the point that you're like, Is he breathing? What's going on there?

[00:31:14]

He likes chaos, Mikey.

[00:31:16]

We have a top five of some sort, you were saying?

[00:31:19]

I don't know. Mikey, you have a top five? We have another over-under. What do we do?

[00:31:22]

Yeah, let's do it over-under. Let's do it over-under. We haven't done one over-segment. Wait a minute.

[00:31:26]

What happened? Hold on.

[00:31:27]

You were going to say the top five.

[00:31:29]

I was in his pocket.

[00:31:31]

Yeah. But if the season had me changed it, I was in his pocket.

[00:31:35]

I went with him. I don't like it.

[00:31:36]

I thought it was a good idea. I thought it was a good idea. Billy thought it was a good idea. I thought it was a bad idea. Mikey is in my pocket, and he agreed it was going to be a bad idea.

[00:31:48]

Sorry.

[00:31:49]

The Atlanta Falcons.

[00:31:54]

Oh, the Falcons. They were number three on my list if the season started today.

[00:32:00]

So we're going to get your list.

[00:32:03]

We're going to get it just backwards.

[00:32:06]

Do you think that the Falcons are the third best team in football?

[00:32:11]

No, it's the Chiefs. It's all the teams that made no moves during the offseason.

[00:32:17]

Because they didn't have to.

[00:32:18]

Spoiler alert. And the Bengals, because they get Burrow back. That's the biggest free agent signing of the entire offseason, just getting Joe Burrow healthy. That's pretty big. They beat the Chief twice in the playoffs with Joe wear it. Anyway, Balkans?

[00:32:34]

Balkans.

[00:32:35]

Billy, what do you think? Bad division, Billy.

[00:32:38]

Who are their out-of-division opponents?

[00:32:41]

They have Carolina in division, just so you know.

[00:32:43]

So they're home home games are the Cowboys, the Giants, the Chiefs, the Chargers, the Seahawks, the Stealers. They are at the Raiders, the Saints, the Eagles, the Bucks, the Commanders, and the Vikings.

[00:33:03]

The away is tough overall. The away is easier than...

[00:33:09]

And the Broncos, sorry.

[00:33:12]

So they play the Vikings this year, huh?

[00:33:15]

Yep.

[00:33:15]

That'll be a fun game.

[00:33:16]

Can I ask you a question? Do you know what the lowest over-under win total was, or you don't know?

[00:33:23]

I can look quickly.

[00:33:25]

I'll look it up.

[00:33:25]

I believe it's four and a half.

[00:33:29]

I'm going to I'm going to go with... I feel like I may be going high. I'm going to go with seven and a half.

[00:33:37]

I'm going to go Falcon at eight and a half.

[00:33:41]

Yeah, you're good. Because it's going to have it be higher.

[00:33:46]

You're both wrong.

[00:33:47]

Really? Nine and a half?

[00:33:49]

It is nine and a half.

[00:33:50]

That's crazy.

[00:33:51]

That's a product for the division, though. It has to be, right?

[00:33:54]

Under. Not only is it nine and a half, but it is currently plus money for the under. Wow. Wow. And to answer your previous question, Billy, I think two teams have a four and a half win total. You want to guess those teams? We'll do that next.

[00:34:12]

Two teams have a four and a half win total?

[00:34:14]

Yep, the lowest number.

[00:34:16]

All right, we'll get to that in a second. But hold on, Falcons here. So they have two games against Carolina, two games against the Saints, right? And then two games against the Bucs. The Bucs are good. But I would assume three out of... I don't know why I'm breaking this down this way. I'm just intrigued by the Falcons this year. Three out of four, they'll win against those two bad teams. I'm going to say over for the Falcons. I can't believe I'm saying that. Falcons over. Ten wins. Who's their coach?

[00:34:51]

Rahee Morris.

[00:34:52]

Rahee Morris. Okay.

[00:34:56]

I played this one bad. Yeah, I way underestimated them.

[00:35:02]

So you're going under on the nine and a half?

[00:35:05]

Good defense.

[00:35:06]

I'm still going to go under, but seven and a half is a bad guess by me.

[00:35:10]

It's okay. You're really beating yourself up about this. It's over, under, with no draft. And the offseason isn't over yet. It's okay, Billy.

[00:35:24]

Well, I'm also trying to think about the second two and a half.

[00:35:29]

Four and a half.

[00:35:30]

Two, four. Four and a half?

[00:35:31]

Oh, four and a half? Wait, so you're saying there's two, four and a half teams here, okay? Yes.

[00:35:35]

Two teams have four and a half, which is the lowest number.

[00:35:38]

I'm going to say, Billy, I got one. I feel pretty confident about. I have two, actually. Panthers would be one. I would say the Broncos are probably two.

[00:35:49]

That's what I was...

[00:35:52]

They don't have a quarterback.

[00:35:54]

I was leaning towards Broncos, but I don't I'll stick with that. That's what I was thinking, too.

[00:36:02]

Broncos, Mike.

[00:36:04]

You guys are half right.

[00:36:05]

One of the two.

[00:36:08]

And yes, it was the Panthers. The Panthers are four and a half. Who's the other? But the Broncos are actually five and a half.

[00:36:14]

I'm taking the under.

[00:36:17]

Me, too.

[00:36:18]

Who's the other one, though?

[00:36:22]

Stugatz, you should have a big smile on your face, guessing.

[00:36:26]

Patriots.

[00:36:26]

That's the one.Wow.Wow..

[00:36:29]

The Mighty Have Fallen.

[00:36:30]

Yes, sir.

[00:36:31]

It's crazy that I didn't-They deserve it. I didn't even think about them. I wasn't even thinking that's a possibility.

[00:36:38]

Because you always think they're great.

[00:36:40]

Yeah.

[00:36:41]

If you had to bet right now, who wins a Super Bowl first? Starting right now, Patriots or Jets?

[00:36:49]

Oh, man. I'll never say the Jets. I'll never say it. Who gets to a Super Bowl first? I might say the Jets.

[00:36:59]

Who gets there? No. Who gets there? No. Who wins one? No.

[00:37:02]

Wins one.

[00:37:03]

No, can't say it.

[00:37:05]

But you're thinking it.

[00:37:07]

The only team I'll say the Jets over is Cleveland, and they're really good this year.

[00:37:11]

Yeah, well, the Lions. And the Lions are really good this year.

[00:37:15]

I feel like the Patriots have a head start on this situation because I don't believe that the Jets are going to win a Super Bowl with Aaron Rodgers. That's a great take. It's the right take. So then once the Aaron Rodgers situation is done, then they're going to have to reset where the Patriots are currently starting their reset. So I may lean Patriots on this just because something is going to happen with the Rodgers era, with the Jets. I don't know what I couldn't have predicted last season, but I just feel like something is going to prevent them from winning a Super Bowl with Aaron, and then they're going to have to reset.

[00:37:56]

Right. And what you're saying are the Patriots who have a top three or four pick this year in the draft, they get to reset right now. So if they hit on the quarterback guy with that pick, then I'm with you, Billy, because I don't think the Jets are going to win one with Aaron either.

[00:38:11]

That's the thing. And Aaron is, you're not getting your future quarterback with Aaron there. So they're going to avoid that situation. Anyway.

[00:38:21]

Yeah. Booth. Patriots.

[00:38:24]

What were your top five teams? Just out of curiosity? We could just do them quick. Just boom, boom, boom. No fanfare, nothing special. Just knock it out.

[00:38:32]

All right. The five best teams if the season started tomorrow?

[00:38:36]

Yeah, yeah.

[00:38:37]

Okay. Number 5, Houston, Texas. No fanfare?

[00:38:42]

No, no fanfare.

[00:38:44]

Number 4, Green Bay Packers. Number 3, Detroit Lions. Number 2, The Baltimore Ravens.Ow. Yeah.ow. Number one, the Jets.

[00:39:13]

I hate you.

[00:39:16]

I took them over the Chiefs.

[00:39:19]

We got it.

[00:39:28]

We'll debut a second new game today on the show.Look at his style.Off the grid.I'm.

[00:39:35]

So excited.Iron..

[00:39:38]

He is so excited. We will do that in a second. Mikey A has some more teams for Over Under. Did you hear what Kevin O'Knell, the Vikings head coach, said about Sam Darnold on the Pat McAfee show, Mike Yee?

[00:39:53]

No, do tell.

[00:39:54]

Resurgence. He's just getting started. I believe him. Yes, I believe him.

[00:40:01]

I believe that Sam Darnold is going to come back to haunt us somehow.

[00:40:08]

It's infuriating. It really is. All right, Billy, we're excited here. Your first game was a monster hit, and so I'm excited for the second game here.

[00:40:17]

All right. Well, this game, as you mentioned, is called Off the Grid: Iron, and this is how it works. So we, here at God bless football, obviously discuss a lot happenings on the grid iron, on the football field. But there's a world off the grid iron, lots of things happening off the grid iron. And I'm trying to give you guys some of these stories that maybe you know, maybe you don't, because you could be off the grid iron.

[00:40:49]

Got it.

[00:40:51]

Okay. All right.

[00:40:52]

It's exciting.

[00:40:53]

Yes. First story on off the grid iron.

[00:40:55]

Mm-hmm.

[00:40:58]

Kansas City Chief's tight end was recently seen canoodling with girlfriend Taylor Swift in the Bahamas. Stugatz?

[00:41:09]

What am I supposed to do with that? Do I believe it or not believe?

[00:41:13]

Well, no, there's photos. We saw them. They were in the Bahamas. They were in a private getaway together, but paparazzi caught them, took some pictures. Stugatz?

[00:41:23]

Again, what am I supposed to do with it? Just comment on this.

[00:41:26]

Well, it's just your thoughts on the story. You see the pictures. What do you think? Maybe then that leads to a conversation of if you were dating one of the most famous people in the world, where would you go on vacation?

[00:41:38]

There's nowhere you can go on vacation. I would like to ask you this question. Would you guys like to date one of the most famous people on the planet? Would that be something?

[00:41:48]

Because I don't like-So would I like to be Taylor Swift?

[00:41:52]

Would you like to date Taylor Swift? Would you like to be married to Taylor Swift? Because you have no privacy. You have no privacy.

[00:41:59]

Yeah, exactly.

[00:42:00]

I got you.

[00:42:01]

I got you. That was in your pocket.

[00:42:02]

Just don't stick Billy in your pocket. I'm telling you, Mike. You never know. You think he's in your pocket, but he's not. He's in the other person's pocket.

[00:42:13]

You guys did that to me earlier with the top five teams if the season started today. I don't know if I would want to date one of the most famous people in the world.

[00:42:25]

I'm not built for that. I would not. Yeah, I wouldn't. Well, I don't know. It depends. It depends. It depends on my financial situation.

[00:42:33]

Not just that, but your status. Travis is semi-used to it. Obviously, this is a completely different realm. But Travis is used to a Fame that I am not used to. So he knows, but then doesn't. So anyways, you want to move on to the next one?

[00:42:51]

Yes, I like this.

[00:42:52]

Okay. Christopher McDonald, a. K. A. Shooter McGaven, affirms that Happy Gilmore 2 is in the works and said that a first draft has been written. Mikey?

[00:43:08]

No, thanks. No, thanks. Sometimes you just got to leave those alone. Happy Gilmore was hysterical. Now they're all older and they're trying to recycle jokes or bring them to... No, it's fine the way it was. Leave Happy Gilmore alone.

[00:43:22]

Yeah, I'm with Mikey on this. No Bob Barker, no me. It off. I don't need it. I don't need a second Happy Gilmore, okay? Sometimes Roadhouse, Karate Kid, these movies were meant to be made once. They were not meant to be remade for an audience, a younger audience 35, 40 years later. Enough. I'm tired of it, seriously.

[00:43:41]

Did you see the new Roadhouse or no?

[00:43:44]

No.not interested?No.Okay. No. No Patrick Swayze? No me, Billy. You know me.

[00:43:50]

I know you. Two rules about you. No Patrick Swayze? No you. No Bob Barker? No you.

[00:43:54]

Everybody knows it. Well, now everyone does it.

[00:43:59]

Now everybody For those who didn't, now you know.

[00:44:01]

Now you know. Thank you for your support. I had you in my pocket there.

[00:44:06]

All right, next one here on Off the Grid, Iron. Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix is set to replace Sarah Highland as the host of Love Island USA. Stu?

[00:44:25]

What?

[00:44:27]

How do you feel about the move? As you know, Ariana had a glow up after the whole Skandival situation. Tom Sandival cheated on her. She became a beloved figure. Then there was a whole situation with the third party. Who gets the house? What do we do here now? Look, modern family star Sarah Hyland was hosting Love Island USA. Ariana was on dancing with the stars, and now she might get Love Island USA. Ariana was this beloved figure in the US. Then there was a situation with Raquel, Rachel Levis, who was the one that Tom Sandoval was cheating on her with. And then there was possibly leaking of videos in compromising positions. There was lawsuits involved. Ariana fell off a little bit, and now she may get Love Island USA. It's two guts. How do you feel about this move?

[00:45:15]

What? Can I pass?

[00:45:20]

All right, pass it over to Mikey. Mikey, how do you feel about this? Ariana taking over for Sarah.

[00:45:26]

Modern family for life.

[00:45:27]

Don't like it. Okay. All right.

[00:45:30]

Good answer.

[00:45:31]

Yeah. All right, you want to head on to the final one for off the grid iron?

[00:45:37]

Yes.

[00:45:38]

All right, the fourth one, the last one of our initial off the grid iron.

[00:45:45]

Why did you decide only four, just out of curiosity, for off the grid?

[00:45:48]

Because this is... Yeah, this is like... Well, I had one in my pocket, you know what I mean? Just in case. We're beta testing these segments today. Okay. Or I think it's a keeper off the grid iron. I think it's going well so far. All right, final one for today's episode. Okay. Former Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman, passed away at 82 due to complications from a fall in New York. So you What?

[00:46:21]

He died.

[00:46:23]

Passed away, yeah. Do it. Former Connecticut Senator and former vice presidential running mate of Al He fell, yes, I'm aware. He passed away at 82. I believe he was the first Jewish vice presidential candidate candidate of a major party.

[00:46:41]

I believe you are correct on that. Can I have more details? So he fell and he passed away.

[00:46:47]

He passed away at 82 complications from a fall in New York. This is really where you would just give your thoughts on Joe Lieberman, his legacy, et cetera. Yeah, exactly right.

[00:46:57]

Well, I was actually going to give my thoughts on New York. New York is It's a very, and I experienced this with my mom as she got older, it's a very dangerous place to be walking around, especially as you get older. The sidewalks, I am telling you, they're not maintained very well. The curbs are very, very large. It's hard to step up on a curb. New York City needs to fix itself, man. It needs to fix the streets so older people can walk around and not worry about sustaining major injuries or perhaps dying. How's that said?

[00:47:27]

Mikey?

[00:47:29]

Thoughts prayers to his family.

[00:47:31]

There you go. Rest in peace. All right. Well said. Yeah. Okay.

[00:47:35]

All right. New York, Fix your sidewalks. I mean, enough.

[00:47:38]

Well, I believe you said, New York, Fix yourself was the...

[00:47:41]

Well, yeah.

[00:47:43]

All right. So that was it. First round of off the grid.

[00:47:47]

It was awesome.

[00:47:48]

Tired.

[00:47:49]

How do you feel about your games?

[00:47:52]

I think that, you know... We'll discuss it in our four-person meeting later on today, and then we'll to decide whether or not they're going to be coming back. How did you guys- Over and a half make it back.

[00:48:07]

Wait, hold on. Hold on.

[00:48:09]

How did you guys feel about it? So we know who's going to come to this meeting. Just out of curiosity.

[00:48:14]

I love them, Billy. I love both of them.

[00:48:18]

But you're capable of lying to me on this situation. I feel like maybe I'm going to have to consult with Mike Fuentes and see how he feels, but he's a little under the weather. So all the people out there who are missing MikeFuentes' voice.

[00:48:31]

Yeah. He'll be back. He has none. I think Mike Fuentes will be really good at off-the-grid iron.

[00:48:39]

I feel like he'll be really good at that.

[00:48:41]

I think Fuentes is devastated. He was not able to participate in both to build these new games.

[00:48:46]

I really did.

[00:48:47]

He's listening later, vomiting and going, Mm-hmm.

[00:48:50]

Yeah. Want to do some more quick over-unders here before we head out for the week?

[00:48:55]

Yes, I would.

[00:48:56]

Sure. Green Bay Packers.

[00:48:58]

Oh, gosh.

[00:49:01]

Nine and a half. Ten and a half. I'm low. Yeah, thanks to God, it's closer.

[00:49:05]

Packers, ten and a half.

[00:49:07]

It is ten and a half.

[00:49:09]

I would take the over there. I think the packers are going to the Super Bowl this year. Wow. If the season started today.

[00:49:17]

Well, if the season started today, the Chicago Bears wouldn't really have a quarterback. Yet, their over-unders are what?

[00:49:26]

Six and a half.

[00:49:28]

I'll say higher. I'm going to go eight and a half on the bears. I can't believe I'm saying that.

[00:49:33]

Dugats nailed it. Eight and a half wins for the Chicago bears.

[00:49:37]

Look at this run you're on.

[00:49:38]

I know. Incredible. Without knowing who their quarterback is. They only have Tyson Bajian. But we do know who their quarterback is going to be.

[00:49:46]

We know who their quarterback is going to be.

[00:49:48]

That's the only one where we could say, almost definitively, we know who their quarterback is.

[00:49:51]

Yeah, but you're feeling good about Caleb winning nine games his rookie year? I'm not. I'm probably going to go under there.

[00:49:56]

Yeah. How about the Seattle Seahawks? Last one.

[00:50:03]

Is it still Gino? Did they get a quarterback? They're going to draft one, I think. They have all that equity from the Broncos with that Russell Wilson trade, right?

[00:50:18]

Eight and a half.

[00:50:20]

I'm going to say seven and a half for the Seahawks.

[00:50:23]

Again, Stugatz. Nailed it. Seven and a half wins for the Seahawks.

[00:50:27]

Incredible. I started out so hot. I You nailed two out of three, and you've hit the last four. Incredible. One more, one more, quick, quick one, quick one, come on.

[00:50:35]

Arizona.

[00:50:37]

Arizona.

[00:50:38]

One and a half.

[00:50:40]

Six and a half.

[00:50:42]

Nailed it. Yeah.

[00:50:44]

One and a half?

[00:50:45]

One and a half. I take the under. God bless football. God bless football, everyone.

[00:51:04]

Sorry, you wouldn't have a table, please? Oh, sorry.

[00:51:11]

Do you want to sit down?
