This is the Dan Levatard Show with the Stugats podcast.

[00:01:00]

Chris Cody, get me that Yeti music again. Do you get annoyed every time Dan Levatard pontificates about the sports media industry? Well, too bad, mother. He knows he don't give a damn about what he's going to say. It's time for Sports Media Talk today.

[00:01:23]

Please, no more Kostas.

[00:01:26]

Okay, yes. Thank you, Stugat. We It was two days of Kosta, and it's too much. You brought it back. I know. I did bring it back because of how wildly disrespectful you were to the man. I wasn't.

[00:01:38]

But you sat on it for six days.

[00:01:40]

He was like, I don't want to bring up something from yesterday.

[00:01:44]

Bob said something. Is that the case? Did Bob say something? Did he mad at me?

[00:01:47]

So many people reached out to me on his behalf because you should know better. You should know better.

[00:01:55]

Bob Kostis is doing just fine. Don't worry about him. Old Bobby's fine.

[00:01:59]

They did not think that you were properly respectful.

[00:02:03]

I was talking about the reaction to Bob Kostis on CNN. That's it. I was explaining the reaction.

[00:02:08]

That's not what we're going to do. We are not going to do that. Good. We are also not going to hire Bella Check and Saban to do a show together unless we can get Snoop Dogg as well.

[00:02:19]

You need Snoop Dogg.

[00:02:21]

Get Snoop first.

[00:02:23]

I just want people to be able to laugh at the lack of vision in what I'm about to say. It is laughably funny. If you think of what was our time at the last of ESPN and you said to me, Hey, Dan, what would be the plan? What do you think would be the plan right now? I'm like, You know what? Get me Travis, Kelsey. Get me Shannon Sharp. Boom. I'll change the world. Shannon Sharp was like, Chad, just give me a few dollars for movies. We're like, No, thank you. And Kelsey's buddying up to Stugats at the golf course. And he's like, Hey, should we do a podcast Now, Stugats builds that in the empire it is today without saying, Well, yeah, Jason Kelsi would also be involved with that. But they figured that out about four months after talking to Stugats. I'm pretty sure that's how that happened.

[00:03:11]

That was our plan with Chris Grunkowski, if you need to know the truth. Yeah, the Grongs.

[00:03:15]

You were going to build the Grongs were going to be the Kelsis?

[00:03:19]

We were close, man. It seems like it always comes down to money. This is a good- As all this stuff fall apart. We have ideas. We start going down these paths, and then it just well dries up.

[00:03:30]

It's a good tactic, though. Let's get Donna, and maybe the rest will fall into place.

[00:03:34]

That's what I'm saying.

[00:03:36]

That's been Stugatz's plan for everything he's ever done, because when we did Sportsman, Michael Moreno was around for a number of episodes because he was convinced that if he got Dan Moreno's son, he could get to Dan.

[00:03:48]

Well, that's how you do it. I mean, it's one of the oldest tricks in the book. Did it work? No.

[00:03:52]

Okay. The oldest tricks in the book with Stugats generally don't work. He tries them all. They are old because he had them once and they were Where is this book?

[00:04:01]

Speaking of books, stugatsbook. Com. Check it out.

[00:04:04]

One of the things that Stugats just mumbled under his breath before we turned on the microphones was also just muttered with a little bit of acid on it. I had Rodic, too.

[00:04:15]

I did it. Now he has his own podcast. It's called Served, and he is splashing it all over Twitter today because he has risen all the way into the top 10. He is number 8 right now on Spotify and Apple. I had an idea with Rodic, and I had Rodic because we have Marty Fish. He's a good friend of ours. Marty Fish, if you know his story-They'd be great together. Yes. I was going to call it Fish and Rod. I mean, come on.

[00:04:42]

Rod wanted to be first, so that's where that fell apart.

[00:04:44]

Dan, you're not usually your third eye though. My brother has a great sense. He thought to include the kid himself that we are sitting in here in this establishment. My boy was right about that. He landed one big well, you dig me? No pun intended.

[00:04:57]

How did you have Roddick? The one interaction with Roddick- Through Marty. He interacted with him once is how he had it. Well, because the one interaction I remember with Andy Roddick was he was booked on stupidity, and five minutes before, you guys said, I can't do it. Then I was interviewing Andy Roddick solo about pickleball and subway.

[00:05:12]

You were not that pleased about that, if I recall.

[00:05:16]

I found out that I was doing it two minutes before.

[00:05:20]

But Marty Fish is one of his best friends, and Marty Fish is a good friend of mine. He's a good friend of Mike, he's a good friend of Chris's. I had pitched that idea to Marty Fish a while ago. I think last year at Tahoe, he said we're in. But as Billy said earlier, all these things come down the money.

[00:05:34]

No, but it's not just that, because I think your definition of good friend and Mike's definition of good friend and Billy's definition of good friend is slightly different. You thinking you're friends with Marty Fish because they're friends with Marty Fish and that you would then close an erotic deal with Marty Fish because you're just you. That's how that went, correct?

[00:05:56]

Yes, but he loved the idea. He loved the title, Fish and Rot.

[00:05:58]

It'd be great. Or Rod Fish, I suppose you could go that way.

[00:06:01]

No, Fish and Rot. Fish and Rot. Fish and Rot.

[00:06:03]

Rod Fish is a bad name. I know. Yours is better, but they argued over who gets the... Rodic, it was always better than Marty Fish. The only reason Marty Fish wasn't the greatest American tennis player is because Andy Rodic, his former roommate, was in his way. It made Marty Fish nuts because it'd make anyone nuts to be one of the best in the world at a solitary sport, and your roommate is slightly better than you.

[00:06:23]

Don't tell all this story. Save something for fishing right there.

[00:06:26]

Exactly. It's a good podcast.

[00:06:28]

I know.

[00:06:29]

If If I put those two guys together talking about the mental health of tennis? Yes. Oh, my God.

[00:06:35]

Mental health. I mean, niche.

[00:06:37]

I mean, with Marty, I wasn't really thinking mental health. I was thinking Marty is friends with Patrick Mahomes.

[00:06:42]

Exactly right. Then it becomes a Marty Party.

[00:06:45]

So let me ask- That's a good podcast name. The Marty Party?

[00:06:49]

Marty Party.

[00:06:51]

I mean, Marty knows a who's who of... You can't play in that Tahoe tournament without Marty first approving it. You can't. He's the mayor of Tahoe. Hish and Rud.

[00:07:00]

Wow.

[00:07:01]

I want to know, though, from you guys, because I feel like... I don't know who the audience is for argument television, okay? But I think one of the reasons our audience rejects this talk is because they don't want. If they wanted first take or it's permutations, that's where they would be in the middle of the day instead of consuming what we're doing here. But I have found fascinating, Stugant, over the last 15 years of what Steven A. Smith and Skip Bayliss built, right? Because a decade is the number one show on television that's unheard of. What Steven A. Smith is worth right now, after very quietly, Stugatz, It's saying a couple of times, I'm underpaid on television. He welcomes in McAfee and all these $17 million contracts, Joe Buck, Troy Akeman. When he's the voice and face of ESPN, and he's now underpaid as soon as they all arrive. He welcomes them all in. Now his ratings are giant. I don't know if it's the greatest ego mistake I've seen in sports media, but Skip Bayliss, underestimating that he needed Shannon Sharp.

[00:08:14]

Yes.

[00:08:15]

For that show to be successful. Colossal mistake. Well, but the numbers, they make the same amount of money, okay? And Skip Bayliss. But Stephen A. Smith also has a production company as part of what he's trying to build, which is going to be giant, I am sure. It's going to be powerful and impressive, whether he does it with ESPN or outside of ESPN, because Stephen A. Smith wants to play with Tom braided and Peyton Manning in the sphere of, I'm his biggest star in sports right now as there is. I'm a media star, and I'm at my company, and I'm underpaid. He's going to have power. He's going to have an ability to get power here, Stugats, because he brought in Shannon Sharp, too. He carried him over. Shannon Sharp was done, Stugatz. He wasn't going to get back in the game, and now he's a giant on impact. Man, as soon as he arrives, and this has been brutal to watch, I've hated this for him, the piranhas arrive and devour him and mock him and try to eat him up. This man is so strong. His story is so strong to come from the poverty he came from, a problem with a lisp to being like a Hall of Fame loudmouth who now has two artificial hips but still wants to compete with everybody.

[00:09:26]

Now Ken, because he's got a valuable platform, and he works so hard, so hard, Stugatz. I can't help but be impressed that at the top of our game, what the people are consuming, the candy of what it is that we do, we're watching the end of Skip Bayliss because his numbers, those numbers are so bad, Stugatz. We were doing twice those numbers on ESPN News. He's coming to the end of his contract, and nick Wright is here to have the money that Fox has to offer. Colin Cauhert is going to be able to do whatever he wants with him and his company. And Shannon Sharp, and they're going to compete at the top of the game, the sports media games and the athlete games at the top of the business. I find that stuff fascinating. Am I the only one? That's not interesting to you guys.

[00:10:26]

It's very interesting. It's very interesting, Big Brother. How can that not be interesting to you guys? They're uncultured. That's where they are, uncultured. I'm with you, Big Brother. This is very, especially as a Black man, you know what I mean? Going through all of those things. Juju, Steven A.

[00:10:39]

Smith was fired and came back from the debate.

[00:10:42]

We've talked about it.

[00:10:44]

It doesn't get talked about enough, man.

[00:10:47]

Quite frankly, it's impressive what he's done.

[00:10:50]

Right.

[00:10:50]

Of course it is.

[00:10:53]

That show, you guys disrespect what that man has done. You disrespect what he has done to get to the top of the game through the labyrin.

[00:11:02]

Fine. But what are we going to talk about his funeral if we keep talking about it now?

[00:11:05]

Exactly. He did what Shane Gillis did times 100. He got them folks to reinvest in him, and now he's still at the top of that.

[00:11:14]

Steven A. Smith is about to change the game again, and now he rides with Shannon Sharp, and they can build whatever the hell they want.

[00:11:21]

With or without ESPN. That's the interesting part. With or without ESPN. Of course.

[00:11:26]

With or without Disney or sell it back to Disney. This is now not It's not just the money game. It's the power game. It's the influence game. It's the legacy game. It's not just Steven A. Who's going to get fat on Fame. He's trying to build something that is a giant platform. First take has been number one for more than 10 years. Skip Bayliss created an economy. Steven A. Smith buried it. He's super competitive. He's a conqueror, and he's getting bigger than he's ever been. He comes from McDonald's commercials. He will What is about to happen is he is about to, I think, shake the industry with his next contract and should because he's a ratings monster. I can't believe you guys don't find that interesting.

[00:12:13]

To be clear, Steven A did not start his career in McDonald's commercials.

[00:12:17]

No, he's just done that. He's been in McDonald's commercials. He's done commercials for movies like he was fired.

[00:12:23]

Two fake hips.

[00:12:25]

That's crazy. I didn't know that. Is that true?

[00:12:27]

Two artificial chairs.

[00:12:28]

Did you throw that one in there as a little No, Shannon Sharp.

[00:12:31]

No, I'm just telling you.

[00:12:32]

Shannon Sharp. I thought she was talking about Steven A. Yeah, no.

[00:12:35]

How many fake hips does Stephen A have?

[00:12:37]

Zero. Zero.

[00:12:38]

One? If Stephen A's fake hips in a box and put Shannon Sharp's fake hips in the box, minus one. Boom.

[00:12:45]

A couple of fake hips, cutting it up. Steugats here. Did you know that according to FBI property crime data, most home break-ins happen in broad daylight? [00:13:51]

He needs a wheelbarrow like Mike McDaniel, this dog.

[00:13:54]

Got a pair? Man, does he get a pair? My granddaughter sees his schlong.

[00:14:01]

What are you talking about? And says, What's that? She doesn't know. She did. There it is.

[00:14:08]

My granddaughter saw his schlong in the kitchen.

[00:14:13]

She said, What is that? What is this?

[00:14:15]

A game of Clue?

[00:14:15]

What is he doing in the kitchen?

[00:14:17]

I said that's what he peed with.

[00:14:18]

She saw his...

[00:14:19]

How else am I going to explain? Stugatz.

[00:14:23]

It was a little extended.

[00:14:24]

I don't know why he was so excited. All right, very good.

[00:14:26]

Baby.

[00:14:27]

No. Can we beat him? Can I take this out? He's a baby. Anyway, he ate my couch.

[00:14:32]

This is the Dan Levatard show with the Stugats.

[00:14:45]

I thought for sure one of you, I was looking for one of you. I thought somebody was going to hit Steven A. Smith with Artificial Hit, the other artificial hit. It was right there. No, I thought we were just... I I was looking, both of you have sunglasses on, so I didn't think I was going to... I thought one of you was going to have the closing line on hitting-I loved at the end there, how confused.

[00:15:10]

We're like, Who has two hips?

[00:15:11]

That's the math I was doing in my head. I was like, Wait a second. I didn't know Steven A had two hips. Maybe that's why he fell. Remember, he falls on the court a lot?

[00:15:17]

I was like, Oh, he's got the chips. My point was that Shannon Sharp is being devoured by the internet because they think that his rise to Fame has been sudden, and it hasn't. It's It's been earned. Now he's a source of much mockery, but he welcomes it because he's not afraid of that fight, and he's just eating up like, Oh, my God, I get to do this in my 50s? I get to bother people? This guy was a Super Bowl champion. Yes, He's yelling into a phone on the sidelines, call the National Guard, because he was like, The cockiest of loudmouths, conquers the sport, is one of the best tight ends any of us have ever seen. No doubt. Then come all the basketball players and all the gronks and all the Kelsies.

[00:16:00]

He's a media monster now.

[00:16:01]

He's gotten right back to the top of the game, and he works his ass off. But yes, the game, I'm assuming, has affected his hips because a lot of these guys, and he's still working like that, it hurts to walk around in your '50s because what they were doing was Savage.

[00:16:17]

Right. Like you said, both of those brothers, him and Steven A, are building their own platforms within the ESPN, within the motherships.

[00:16:26]

With the ESPN, yes.

[00:16:28]

It's genius.

[00:16:29]

It's what's happening with Peyton Manning who suddenly realized that, too. But let's move on to other things because I've lost the entire room. We spent way too much time on the industry. I see that Chris Cody doesn't want to hear about any of this stuff. It feels like- Tips don't lie. We know that. Unless it's Kelsey. Unless it's Kelsey, you guys seem to all be in on the pregame show's changing, or they're being genuine controversy because somebody, a big name, gets knocked out because Jason Kelsey's agent is going to come into the room and it's going to be like, We bring the Taylor Swift crowd with us. What job can we take?

[00:16:59]

Speaking of big names getting knocked out, Jason Tatum last night, brothers and sisters. Let's talk about it. Thank you. Epic collapse. This is what's wrong with the Celtics. This is why we don't believe in them moving forward past what we see now. This mentality, this crumbling of them that just happens for no reason at all, is why we don't trust them. That's why Jimmy Butler sees them and says, No, I don't care what number you all are.

[00:17:26]

All right, let me talk about this for a second, Stugatz, because if you did not see, I believe the Miami Heat do not have a lineup that has played 80 minutes together this season. If the NBA is about story lines and how things build, like the way this season has gone right now where Boston is clearly better than everybody, but there are nights like last night where you're like, Oh, that's the thing that's going to end them, that they've got a 22-point lead and Tatum goes one for nine in the fourth quarter. Then they're going to get a call reversed at the end of the game on instant replay and they lose by a point. I don't want to trust that team. I don't trust those guys to be tough, but they've been overwhelming. They've won all month. They win by double digits all the time on average. People don't trust them because they think Jimmy Butler's tougher. If you want to get right down to why it is that Boston fears there, it's like, well, when we had Marcus Smart, that was tough, and we can match Jimmy Butler with tough. But now we traded him for Porzingis, and now when it comes playoff times, it's not going to be about Grant Williams.

[00:18:24]

Is Grant Williams going to get in somebody's face? We've got no bench. We've got these guys. Excuse me. And I'm not sure.

[00:18:31]

Al Horford is there.

[00:18:33]

That's all they've got on their bench.

[00:18:35]

That's all. This makes me think back. This is a consensus. Everyone is saying this is the team to beat in the NBA this season, yet we think they're mentally weak. Have we had this situation since LeBron in the big three? At the beginning of that, they were consensus best team, but everyone was still questioning whether LeBron could win the big one.

[00:18:55]

Aren't we overreacting to a single loss? I know Donovan Mitchell wasn't playing last night. Looking back at the playoffs the last couple It's a bad loss, but it's also a look ahead spot. They play Denver next on the road.

[00:19:04]

Kelsey Babelhead night. There's a whole thing.

[00:19:06]

There's a lot going on. I'm doing what you guys do to your teams, like you do with the Mets and the Jets. I see my team. I love the Celtics, and I see them like, this is why we don't trademark it smart. This is why we at least keep a puppy in Grant Williams, because we need someone that can shake them.

[00:19:19]

I understand that, but with football, there are 16 games. I don't do it with the Mets. There's 162 games. Football, those games are so valuable that, yes, game the game.

[00:19:26]

I'm doing that with the Jets.

[00:19:28]

This is one game of 82.

[00:19:31]

They've won most of their games. Stugatz, we need a reason to care during the season. All Juju is saying is if you have confirmation bias about this team, last night gives it to you again. You can give us all the perspective you want. Yes, they've won for a month straight. They're clearly better than everyone else in a way that Stan Van Gundee says already, I'd be shocked if they don't win the title. What looks to me out West looks overwhelming. One through eight. I'm looking at it and I'm like, Man, those are all good But no, Boston has been better than all of them, playing everybody and swapping them. But this criticism, and I didn't think I'd see it in the modern age, I really didn't because I objected the other day when Charles Barkley said of some team, Who did he... He said somebody was mentally weak. I think he said it was the Celtics. So now the story starts. Anthony Davis is weak. He doesn't play all the time. That's what we bury him in. The Celtics, you guys are very comfortable saying because you've seen him lose game sevens at home, even though Tatum was hurt in the last one.

[00:20:32]

He didn't even get to play in it. He just fell on his ankle. Now you're like, No, Tatum, you can't be best in the league. I don't believe you're best in the league until you get to the top of this sport because in the fourth quarter, you're not going one for nine. I'm getting haunted by a box score that says D-Wade hit me for 20 in the fourth quarter. I'm scared of everything related to what D-Wade says in a box score.

[00:20:53]

Fade-aways after fade-aways, fallback jumpers out of bounds. Brother, you are almost seven feet tall. Take it to the hole. That's the thing I want to see out of my superstar. Drive, win me a shot, ain't falling. Go to the paint bit, bro. They don't even follow their shots. What is happening in today's NBA? I watched Michael Porter Jr. Shoot 10 threes last night and not follow one shot. Come on, guys.

[00:21:15]

No killer instinct on that team. No killer.

[00:21:18]

I hate that as analysis.

[00:21:19]

I know, but it's true, Dan.

[00:21:20]

Dan, headed into last night, the Celtics were 364-0, one leading by 20 points in the fourth quarter.

[00:21:26]

They were due. They are great. That team is great. Everyone's still waiting around for, Yeah, they'll shit the bed.

[00:21:33]

They'll fold up.

[00:21:34]

I'm like, I can't believe that this is what the analysis is. Do you know how hard it is to be what Jason Tatum is? Jayla, that team is so much better. Drew holiday is just doing Drew holiday, who Amin called a corpse, by the way.

[00:21:48]

Right.

[00:21:49]

Talk about it. No, I mean, this is amazing. Drew holiday has been an unselfish... We forget, Yannis didn't do anything until Drew holiday got there. Now, he goes to this team, and you're telling me they're not tough enough Don't tell me that guy's not tough. Don't tell me Drew Holland, I can't be the tough that Marcus Smart was and a better player. Because you had Marcus Smart around. Everyone said this to us, Stugatz. Marcus Smart is what leads that team. It hurts. His hair is green. He's the soul of the team. But he was just there to lead, and then they trade him so that, Hey, Tatum, Jalen, you want to lead?

[00:22:22]

Were you at all wondering how Billy just pulled that right out of his... I was. 364, no.

[00:22:27]

Fourth quarter lead since '97, '98, I believe.

[00:22:30]

It was on the television screen on Get Up.

[00:22:34]

That's true.

[00:22:35]

He stole it straight from Get Up. Was I amazed that a fact came from that room that was helpful? You guys were all amazed by a producer producing.

[00:22:43]

It gave you killer instinct. What do you mean?

[00:22:45]

Billy, at the top of the game.

[00:22:47]

You weren't wondering how Billy knew that?

[00:22:48]

No, I was- Real hoopers know, guys. I was surprised that Billy was interested in any way, but that he was helpful was the surprising part.

[00:22:56]

Crazy collapse.

[00:22:58]

The Celt just need to do something cool and tough one time because the dunk contest didn't help my boy Jalen Brown at all. Jason Taylor came out and threw the ball. They just need an image makeover, and I'm patiently waiting on it.

[00:23:12]

Isn't Derek White their gritty, tough guy? Isn't he the guy?

[00:23:15]

He's been great for them.

[00:23:16]

He's been averaging more block than Yannis.

[00:23:18]

And he's Derek White.

[00:23:19]

But he's not an enforcer. We need a Draymond Green. We need someone who says, No, not tonight.

[00:23:25]

Can I ask you guys a question? Speaking of enforcers in the Celtics, are you done as has him and Paul pierce is going to be fighting forever? What is going on there? Why are they still fighting with each other?

[00:23:36]

Do you want him to stop?

[00:23:37]

Box for Charity? When I posted the video with what Paul said about UD, UD comment and said, You all might want to stay out of this one, Big Brother. This is real.

[00:23:46]

All right, so now we've got a problem on our hands, okay? Because thank you, Billy, for adding that particular chaos to the mix. Because, yes, we now have a problem because our show is at the middle of Paul pierce and Udonis's beef.

[00:23:59]

We are? Whose side Who's side are you on?

[00:24:00]

Yeah, who's side are you on, Dan?

[00:24:01]

Okay, thank you guys for all the help there. I got UD. I will get to our side in a second. I will pick a side in a second. It's going to be a tough spot for me. Sure you will. It's going to be a tough spot for me. I pick UD.

[00:24:12]

Don't choose a side, Big Bro.

[00:24:13]

You got to. I care about you.

[00:24:15]

I pick UD also. Why don't you want me to choose a side, Juju?

[00:24:19]

It's not necessary. It's a lot of violence going on in the streets. Ud warned us. He says, Stay out of this. Yeah, I'm out of this.

[00:24:28]

I'm going to take his advice. I'm out of this, but If I'm in it, I'm on UD's side. But I'm out of it for the record.

[00:24:34]

I'm out of it, but I'm in UD's side.

[00:24:35]

Even though Paul pierce is a coworker, I think, but I'm out of it.

[00:24:38]

I love the Celtics.

[00:24:39]

He was great on stars on Mars, but I'm out of it. But if I had to pick a site.

[00:24:44]

He didn't poop his pants, but I'm on UD's side.

[00:24:46]

But I'm out of it. He said he did that one time.

[00:24:48]

Yeah, he really did that to himself.

[00:24:51]

Tomato, tomato, but UD is my guy.

[00:24:53]

I'm out of it. Dan, what side are you on? Did you officially pick a side?

[00:24:56]

We'll get back to that in a second. Maybe we'll tease it throughout the show here because I do You have to choose sides. Do I not? You have to pick a side.

[00:25:03]

Yeah, it's sports-rated. Ud said stay out of it. What alert was that?

[00:25:06]

Spoiler alert.

[00:25:07]

That's awful.

[00:25:09]

Okay, so you guys are not helping me here. You have to pick a side. Yes, and I will, but I will not be bullied into doing it before the end of this segment because you guys think you're funny. And Juju is right with, No, I know you, Donis. I'm not going to say the wrong thing here.

[00:25:24]

What does it matter with you?

[00:25:26]

Stop playing. You guys, stop playing for For a second.

[00:25:31]

For a second. You going pierce would be an upset.

[00:25:35]

But he's a coworker.

[00:25:36]

Speaking of bullies, check out Bully Ball. A coworker. Nice segue.

[00:25:41]

Stop, Stugats. You laugh, but no, I don't want to pick this fight. You on behalf of me and Udonis. No, thank you. Because you haven't heard the most recent sound. We asked Paul pierce, look, this has escalated because it started with Udonis saying, I would fight them on site in a grocery store. I've told Paul pierce and Kevin Garnett this. Then Paul pierce came back and said, he's never said that to me. I'll do it in a phone booth. Now this gets back to Udonis. Udonis, who's doing his own podcast with Mike Miller, the OG's podcast, has been excellent. It's been fun to watch them grow in the space. Udonis says he is not fooling around. And when this... Juju, I don't have this wrong. When this particular... You can make fun of him because you think he's over 40 and he hasn't played in many years. But when this Miami tells you he's going to hurt you, you You don't want that to escalate. You want to leave that right there. Paul pierce doesn't want to do that. Nobody wants to do that. We don't want anyone to get hurt here.

[00:26:37]

Right. He got a hundred of people right now that can't wait to impress him and do some dirty stuff for UD. Salute to Big Bro.

[00:26:44]

Fighting in a phone booth seems like it would be difficult.

[00:26:47]

It is. Put it on the poll, please, Juju, at Lebitar Show. Does it seem like it would be hard to fight in a phone booth? I don't think Paul pierce would fare well in that fight. I don't want to see that fight. Nobody wants to see that fight. But here's Yudanas Haslem saying, on the OG's podcast what he had to say.

[00:27:02]

Yeah, it had nothing to do with the individual person. It just had to do with the Celtics. Everybody know how I feel about the Celtics. Everybody know how I feel about budding them. Redact it. Yeah, everybody know how I feel about buddy now.

[00:27:12]

Who's budding them. Who budding them?

[00:27:14]

I ain't going to say budding them because somebody going to get hurt because I'm going to stop playing him. I'm going to leave him alone. Somebody get hurt. Paul Fish. I'm going to leave him. I'm going to leave him. Listen, I'm going to tell you right now, I don't be with all of Twitter fangers and all them games playing. I'm going to leave that for somebody to get hurt. I ain't going to lie.

[00:27:29]

Listen, I always say funny. I don't think he's funny. I play too much.

[00:27:34]

That was funny, though.

[00:27:35]

Which one?

[00:27:36]

Well, he said that like, No, you still was giving it up.

[00:27:40]

We all know you earned your retirement. Everybody know that. The pettiness was so cool. But the pettiness that he said that was like, No, it was good.

[00:27:47]

I got real small. Did you see my response? We did. I meant that from the bottom of my heart. I meant that from the bottom of my heart. I'm going to spell you because I know you ain't like that. I'm going to spell you. You're looking at my mother's eyes for a silly twerker. No, I'm with it. When you get money, you got to separate from certain. I'm still my daddy's child. Oh, yeah. I love that. I'm still my daddy's child. My daddy ain't raising no punk and I don't play no games. That's a fact. You know what I'm saying? I'm with all that. I love it. What I'm going to do is I'm going to disconnect from that situation because I don't play like that. You know what I'm saying? Because one thing, what I said, I spoke on them as Celtic players. I never spoke on I never spoke on what they accomplished. I always give them credit for that. Now you're on some other. I ain't playing that game. I ain't basketball. I'm going to leave that alone for I hurt you.

[00:28:38]

I don't want to do this anymore.

[00:28:41]

Is Paul pierce coming to the holiday party?

[00:28:44]

Is that what I heard there? Secret Santa, Oscar's party.

[00:28:46]

Is he coming to David Samson, the Adnan Burst West party? Oh, no.

[00:28:50]

We should combine all the smoke with that. And invite UD. Let's figure out how to do that. On Sunday, an Oscar party with Adnan, David Samson in all the smoke.

[00:30:04]

Don Lebatard. All of us who were watching college football elevated everything the weekend was because we missed football in general. So Very much.

[00:30:15]

You didn't watch the ending of UTEP Jacksonville State.

[00:30:18]

It was awesome. A Dizy. Boom.

[00:30:21]

Stugatz. It's such a lane for you. Just everything in college football is awesome. Any single thing that happens, she gets deliriously happy about.

[00:30:31]

Don't you miss viewing sports through that prism, though? I'm envious of Lucy. I wish that I could still be happy. This is the Dan Levatard show with the Stugats.

[00:30:46]

There are two things. I've been next to my partner of two decades here for a very long time. There are two things happening right now that are making me uncomfortable in our long-time marriage and partnership. One of them is that he is visibly and physically uncomfortable because he feels athletes invading his business space. And so he's like, Get out of here.

[00:31:11]

Get out of the way. I'm really more concerned for the kids, for the shipping container because you and I, we've already done it, man. 20 years, it's been a great run. We put together a great show. We've had a lot of great moments. Don't give up. Don't give up yet, Stugatz. I'm not giving up.

[00:31:24]

You're shaky. You're shaky. You got no confidence.

[00:31:27]

No, I have plenty of confidence. We're still relevant It's going to be relevant for as long as we do this.

[00:31:32]

You have to welcome the athlete storming the gates, Stugatz. You have to welcome the fight. Do not put down your swords, Stugatz, and say, I've been there, I've done it.

[00:31:40]

No, I'm not doing that. I'm just saying we've established ourselves. This show is a juggernaut. It will be for as long as you and I do it. I'm worried about the next generation because the athletes are coming for everything. They are. I mean, I'm worried about everyone. I'm worried about the kids, Stan.

[00:31:55]

I'm not. The other thing that's happening here, you I think the athletes have this. Tony, so this is the other part of what I'm worried about with Stugats, is there are these two things happening at once. Stugats is wildly uncomfortable and insecure now because the Kelsies asked for business help, and now they're taking all the good jobs. And Stugats is like, Wait a minute. You had to climb on my neck to get there. But the other thing that Stugats is doing that's making me uncomfortable is he thinks the way into the game in his 50s to fight with these guys is to leer at Tony, is to like, I'm just going to go straight for, I'm looking at Tony's nipples all show, and I'm salivating because Tony is dressed like Neo. Yes, Can you guys tell me what's happening here? Because he's been looking at you during breaks because he wants what's in that file.

[00:32:51]

We just uploaded new files to the Ponder file, Dan. Obviously, I wasn't here yesterday and you got uploaded. Uploaded?

[00:32:56]

Yeah, it's just a regular folder.

[00:32:58]

No, we upload stuff into the file. We upload We upload them to the file. Our team that does the Ponder file, we have a lot, a big team here that helps with us. I wasn't here yesterday, and I know you guys did a lot of NFL talk. Obviously, NFL is back in the news. We got people getting tagged. We got people getting cut. A lot of things happening. I had a couple of new story lines uploaded into the Ponder file.

[00:33:18]

Written down on pieces of paper.

[00:33:21]

Correct. It was an upload time. It takes a little bit longer. It's more of an analog situation.

[00:33:26]

But, Tony, this is your lane, right? They make fun of you. They undercut you at every turn. But you're our football guy. Sure, exactly. But you're not getting a lot of support. You and Juju do the football show, and it comes with very little support, and you care about what happened yesterday, and our show did not.

[00:33:41]

That's fine, Dan, but you know what? We push through and we make things happen. We get it out the mud as usual. We're not going to get the support that other people have. But you know what? We're going to kick ass, and we're going to do shit every single day and do things great. So first question.

[00:33:55]

I will say Billy seems offended by Dan calling you the football guy. I mean, he does.

[00:33:59]

I thought he was the UFC guy, basketball guy, swimming guy.

[00:34:04]

No, not swimming.

[00:34:04]

He technically called us the football guy.

[00:34:07]

He also said you're the football show.

[00:34:10]

We're Sunday Night Live, so we're all encompassing it. More to come on that news, by the way.

[00:34:14]

About Foot Girls.

[00:34:16]

You can have that.

[00:34:17]

We should take that. You guys should take that. You guys should absolutely... You guys should take it. If she's going to give up the intellectual property of foot, foot, foot.

[00:34:27]

Never had it to begin with. Someone accosted Lucy and I in Cocona Grove this weekend. We were crossing the street with Willow.

[00:34:35]

Oh, that was a buddy of mine. Sorry.

[00:34:36]

And a man walked by and said, Foot. And Lucy and I both nearly fell over.

[00:34:40]

That was a buddy of mine. He told me he did that. I'm sorry about that. I forgot to tell you. What do you mean? Serious? Yeah. His name is Sean. Sorry about that. All right, first question.

[00:34:48]

He just moves on that quickly.

[00:34:50]

First question, can Mike Tomlin win a Super Bowl with Russell Wilson?

[00:34:53]

Oh, wow.

[00:34:55]

Is everything else the same, Tony? Same team as 2023, hypothetically plus Russell Wilson.

[00:35:02]

Obviously, adding in health, making sure everybody's healthy. I know there's a lot of injuries. Deontay Johnson was hurt for nine weeks out of the season.

[00:35:07]

If you bring Russell Wilson- Same O-line as '23.

[00:35:10]

Maybe get a little bit better.

[00:35:12]

Well, the great thing about bringing Russ in is it's going to cost you roughly $2 million, right? Right. Somewhere in that neighborhood. So, yes, everyone stays.

[00:35:19]

They said they wanted to build around Kenny Picket, but we've seen what Kenny Picket is, and I feel like we're all right. Can Russell Wilson be the missing piece for Mike Tomlin? Was Wasn't one of you talking earlier today about top five coaches that are just hanging on by a threat or something?

[00:35:36]

No. No. Top five coaches who do just enough to keep their jobs.

[00:35:40]

Different segment, though. We have that one later on.

[00:35:42]

Is it a different segment, though?

[00:35:44]

Are you claiming that Mike Tomlin is on that list?

[00:35:46]

I'm claiming that Billy, our other football show that gets offended when I say that Tony has a football show.

[00:35:51]

One of the other football shows. Foot. Not that.

[00:35:56]

That's Juju's show. That's our show now.

[00:35:58]

I'm the Foot Girls.

[00:35:59]

You guys can have foot. It's all yours. You should do imaging.

[00:36:03]

David, did you hear that?

[00:36:05]

I mean, David, if you are listening, we have merch for the Foot Girls shirts on Juju's jewels on lebatardaf. Com. Not here nor there.

[00:36:13]

No Gen ZFB merch.

[00:36:14]

The company owner just gave that away.

[00:36:17]

We gave Roy for his hockey show, Puck Boys.

[00:36:21]

Yeah, he didn't like that. He didn't want it. He didn't want Puck Boys.

[00:36:22]

There's another pun that we can do.

[00:36:25]

You guys should take that, too. If they're just going to leave money on the ground, the hustler I should get where the money is. You guys are… They're going to just give- Roy went with The Hockey Show instead of Puck Boys.

[00:36:38]

Classic Roy. It's unbelievable.

[00:36:41]

It really is.

[00:36:44]

Russell Wilson, Mike Tomlin?

[00:36:45]

Toughest division in football. I mean, I don't know. Lamar Jackson's in that division. Joe Burrow's back in that division. You have the Cleveland Browns who are really good. I would say no. I would say that Tomlin, they'll be better, but they'll not win a Super Bowl with Russell Wilson.

[00:37:01]

You think they'll be better just if you have, hypothetically, this is not possible because they've already started making moves, but 2023's team, but you plop Russell Wilson in there because I feel like their issues run far deeper than just their quarterback is at.

[00:37:15]

Is it 2023 schedule?

[00:37:18]

Good question, Billy.

[00:37:19]

Thank you. Even if it was, that landed them right in the playoff game with the Buffalo Bill. Second half, they were in that game. That's two wins away.

[00:37:27]

Who was the quarterback there?

[00:37:28]

Exactly. Mason Rudolf.

[00:37:30]

Mason Rudolf, right.

[00:37:31]

I think Russell Wilson needs a lot more respect on his name than a bro. Dangerous. Thank you.

[00:37:36]

Where were you yesterday? Thank you.

[00:37:38]

Let's steal.

[00:37:39]

Yes, that was- Bigger fish.

[00:37:41]

I saw that as the title of one of the episodes. Is that Russell Wilson's new thing?

[00:37:46]

Chris Cody is trying to figure out what he's going to say when he gets to the steal.

[00:37:50]

Steal a Bronco's country, Let's Ride?

[00:37:51]

Let's Steal. Steal a Nation. Let's Steal. Why would you be working with the room and make a joke for the room that you knew no one in the room I would get because you're jealous that he's also got, they've got, a football show.

[00:38:04]

No falsehoods. I'm supporting Chris who wanted to make that the slogan, yes. This is how things take off. I was just spitballing. One day to the next, don't follow up on it. People forget about it. That's why we said, Let's steal is going to be the thing yesterday. So let's steal. We're talking about the stealers. Let's steal. #let'ssteal. To ease.

[00:38:21]

Stealing it. What if Dax on the stealers? Here we steal.

[00:38:24]

That's a different ponder question.

[00:38:26]

That's a different question.

[00:38:27]

I want to go deeper into the in a second.

[00:38:31]

I have a question about Dax, by the way. I saw a picture that said, Look at Dax's new look. Unless I'm mistaken, he looked the same to me. I don't think he did anything drastically different, did he? Did you grow a goatee? Didn't he have a goatee?

[00:38:43]

He's a goatee, brother.

[00:38:45]

I think he had a beard before, didn't he?

[00:38:47]

Yeah, he had a beard.

[00:38:48]

Now, he has a goatee. #letssteal.

[00:38:51]

Omar Epps.

[00:38:52]

Didn't Dan used to have a goatee? He did. Now, he has a beard.

[00:38:55]

They're a first dad. Great decision on the beard, bro.

[00:38:58]

Thank you, Chuju. Why is You are always actually supportive, Juju, as opposed to Billy, who is like, what he's doing-Let's steal. What he's done in this segment has been masterful.

[00:39:09]

Thank you. I will take that compliment.

[00:39:11]

Let me explain to you. Let's steal. Watching Billy manipulate a gullible room, spin it on his finger. Billy? Gullible.

[00:39:23]

Yeah, what does that mean?

[00:39:24]

You moved the conversation. I saw your outrage that I made Tony's show, the football Then I made it Tony and Juju's show, and I forgot Jessica's show.

[00:39:34]

You made them the football experts.

[00:39:36]

That's correct. I didn't make them the football experts.

[00:39:38]

Have you been watching- God made us the football experts. Have you been watching?

[00:39:40]

Exactly right.

[00:39:41]

No, wait a minute. I made them the football experts? You didn't watch a single thing they did every weekend for us.

[00:39:48]

It was late on a Sunday night. Okay, but they were great. Sunday night's my night, dude. 8 o'clock.

[00:39:52]

They saw a lane and they created something that Adam McKay wants to executive produce.

[00:39:58]

Salute to me, bro. We still waiting on the car.

[00:40:00]

We still have that. We still have it already, Adam.

[00:40:01]

Minds are open. Yeah, for real. Sure to get off the pot.

[00:40:03]

Want to produce it, produce it.

[00:40:05]

Did the Kelsies teach you nothing? You got to strike while the iron's hot, Adam. Don't look up.

[00:40:08]

Someone's going to come on. Look straight ahead.

[00:40:10]

There you go. Exactly.

[00:40:13]

Let's steal. Use everything.

[00:40:15]

What's he got going on?

[00:40:16]

He doesn't want your business to get off the ground. He does not want the Tony and Juju train. Look, if he's got to do the slave ship of working with Stugats as the anchor on his football show, he doesn't want you guys to sail into the sky.

[00:40:33]

That's what it is. It's we have fun, and sometimes Billy doesn't have fun. Oh, I don't have fun. Exactly. That's why he envies our show. Let's stay in the Russell Wilson category for a second. Russell Wilson at 2 million or Tua at 55 million.

[00:40:46]

He did this yesterday.

[00:40:49]

What?

[00:40:49]

No. We uploaded.

[00:40:50]

It took time writing this. I don't know what happened. It was an upload. Let me get another one.

[00:40:55]

Hold on. We're doing reruns in the pod.

[00:40:56]

Give me a second. I didn't know.

[00:40:58]

Not his recycled garbage under Tony's nipple. He got an abstract. Christian Ponder, it's the most sensual thing for Stugats.

[00:41:06]

No, not Christian Ponder again.

[00:41:08]

Christian Ponder anymore?

[00:41:09]

Come on.

[00:41:12]
