Stugatz called in sick today because he just wants to gamble the next two days. I'm guessing Mike Ryan did something similar. You guys got stuck with work days on what should be a national gambling holiday. We spent two hours talking about Ohtani for being a bad person for gambling, and now all of us are going to see how we plunge our guts out on an assortment of college basketball games. Where does today rank on most action you have all day, fun, big, giant sports days with the Super Bowl and around the Super Bowl on just enjoying yourself because it's an empty, slovenly day. I've seen all of you don't want to be here today. You've gutted it out, but you'd rather be just watching sports today. Lucy, thrilled not to be here today so that she could just be watching games.

[00:01:59]

To Did you guys ever get to watch NCAA games in high school and stuff when it was on? Of course.

[00:02:04]

No.

[00:02:04]

No.

[00:02:05]

Yes.

[00:02:06]

Illegally. Absolutely.

[00:02:08]

Really mixed answers in here.

[00:02:09]

You guys had your phones. Is that how you were doing it? Because I don't remember.

[00:02:14]

Yeah, we'd watch it on our phones or some teachers would bring in TVs, but you had to have one of the cool teachers who would let you watch it because not every teacher was cool. Some of them would get you in trouble.

[00:02:24]

I think I could make the argument that the first day of March Madness is the best weekday sporting event day of the year. Because all the other football and Super Bowl, that's on Saturdays and Sundays. Give me a weekday.

[00:02:40]

The first day of the Stanley Cup.

[00:02:41]

Not as good as today.

[00:02:42]

Oh, come on. It's up there, but it's not one. I'm not saying it's number one. I'm saying it's up there.

[00:02:48]

It's happening at 10 o'clock at night. Who cares?

[00:02:50]

Open day, baseball is up there.

[00:02:52]

San Jose versus Ottawa.

[00:02:53]

Chris, you have to take out all of the holidays. Thanksgiving, New Year's Day, New Year's Eve.

[00:03:00]

There's usually great- National Championships are usually on Mondays also.

[00:03:03]

I love the lions, Thanksgiving Day at 12. But to me, the first day of March Madness is better than the Thursday, like Thanksgiving Day football games. Yeah, I get three games, but they're not always great.

[00:03:11]

Put it on the poll. That's a good question. What's better, Thanksgiving Day football days or the first day of March Madness?

[00:03:17]

I don't think it even compares, and I don't even think they're in the same category because I'm saying those are holidays. Holidays don't count. This is like a random day.

[00:03:24]

Not even the best Thursday, it sounds like. It's always the lions and cowboys.

[00:03:27]

I'm arguing that even if you include holidays, holidays, I think today is better than... Obviously, I like Thanksgiving for the food, but in terms of the sports, yeah, fine.

[00:03:35]

I'm going to watch the football. When she asked school, I answered that question differently than you guys because I was thinking back when I was in college and going to Vegas today to be in a sportsbook Today, there are very few days anywhere in sports, anywhere in the country, where just being in a sportsbook all day to day, watching everything that's happening today, is just a lovely way to spend a day if you like gambling in sports. It's empty calories. But when you said school, I wasn't thinking as a grade schooler watching on television.

[00:04:04]

Back when you rooted for the Yankees.

[00:04:05]

I was thinking as a college kid. Not, no. Yes, back when I rooted for the Yankees. You're an asshole. You can't help yourself just probing at my vulnerabilities. I already admitted I was a Yankee fan before I was anything, and you had to get that in front of the people.

[00:04:21]

Jess made me see it.

[00:04:23]

He's right. My fault.

[00:04:26]

Where does it rank for all of you today? What action will you guys I have Billy, do you get swept up in today or not? Because I don't know. You rarely talk. You make your pics on God bless football.

[00:04:36]

Billy's Big Boar's bets brought to you by.

[00:04:38]

That's correct. But you rarely talk about what your actual bets look like. We don't know what your gambling habits are. We don't know if you're involved in March Madness in the bracket we're doing today.

[00:04:49]

Oh, I am. I did that. Go to March Madness. Well, it's too late now. You can't, but go follow along and see how we're all doing. You know what I mean?

[00:04:56]

I'm excited for Saturday, Dan. That's where Notre Dame plays. Saturday. We're hosting Kent State.

[00:05:05]

It flashes. Jess has to have yesterday experienced sports, or two days ago experienced sports, whatever day it is. She has to have experienced sports so much differently than the rest of us, where I was reading a story and I'm like, Oh, wow. Kaitlyn Clarke was almost a fighting Irish. Then I talked to her about it. She's like, Yeah, I knew that four years ago. But everyone else in the world discovered yesterday would appear.

[00:05:28]

Huge story. Right, Thompson. Thompson wrote this beautiful profile of Kaitlyn Clarke, and there was a little passage in there about how she committed to Notre Dame, but then ultimately changed her mind. People were like, Gojo texted me about it. I was like, This is crazy. I was like, Yeah, if you follow women's basketball, you would probably I knew that.

[00:05:45]

Against her family's wishes, Dan.

[00:05:47]

Not to be a hipster.

[00:05:48]

She got the Wright Thompson treatment, the flowing, elegant biography?

[00:05:52]

She loved the movie Rudy, apparently. Oh, please.

[00:05:55]

No. The movie sucks.

[00:05:57]

Was her father somewhere in a well early in life? Oh, no. Trapped in a well? I'm sorry. That's Gary Smith who writes those profiles. Oh. Wright Thompson- You lost me for a minute.

[00:06:08]

Remember when baby Jessica fell in the well?

[00:06:10]

How's Kaylyn Clarke's dad doing? Is he in a well or not? I don't know.

[00:06:13]

Wright Thompson's story when he goes to the roots in the biography. When Wright Thompson comes to give you the Wright Thompson treatment, that's the biggest of the writing treatment that remains in the game right now.

[00:06:22]

That's why his first name is Wright.

[00:06:24]

Not at all. To answer your question, today ranks fourth for me.

[00:06:28]

Wow. Behind?

[00:06:30]

I thought we were going to run out of time. Dreads.

[00:06:33]
