[00:00:10]

Welcome to The Big Suie, presented.

[00:00:16]

By DraftKings. Why are you listening to this show? It's a.

[00:00:19]

Podcast that seems very similar to the other Dan Levitard podcast. I'm sorry. I'm not going to apologize for that. In fact, the only difference.

[00:00:26]

Seems to be this imaging. I have been tempted in restaurants walking past tables to grab somebody's fries if they're just there. That hasn't happened to you guys?

[00:00:35]

I've done it. And now here's The marching Man to Nowhere, Fetface, and The Habitual Liar.

[00:00:44]

Christian Wilkins of The Dolphins is going to be around here shortly, and I think Ron McGill as well to do yet more selling of the book. I do want to think of an idea, though, to try and sell Fins at 50 in a way that gives it a resurgence for Greg Cody, because he seems really disgusted that he's calling this his first book when it's not his first book. And it's not surprising at all that he would call it his first book. And the only reason that he would do that is because the other one didn't get the promotion that he wanted because he thinks he should be promoted at all times by everybody.

[00:01:14]

Well, I think that's what he meant. This is the first book that's actually being promoted. Right. Right.

[00:01:18]

Yes. Yeah, it's the first proper book.

[00:01:21]

It's how we pay you for all those back in my days you have not done. Thank you. Let's get to this Wes Weller video. The Weller video was interesting because when you think of Wes Weller, still got the backstory for those of you who do not know. The Dolphins had Wes Weller, and in his Dolphins career, he had one touchdown. He was not a special receiver, in fact, was so not special that he told us the story of one time, somebody just like was Zach Thomas came out of a place and gave him car keys thinking he was the valet. He told us the story that a neighbor said upon looking him up and down, they said, What do you do for a living? And Wes Wilker said, I'm a football player, and the response that Wes Wilker got is no wonder we are one in 15. So Wes Wilker made his way to New England and became a Hall of Famer or put up Hall of Fame type numbers if he's not a Hall of Famer.

[00:02:17]

Belichick did one of those things where they played against the Dolphins. He liked Wilker. He went and got Wilker. That's when we thought Belichick was a genius. He wasn't. He had Tom braided.

[00:02:25]

Okay. That certainly helped, and that made Wes Wilker. That turned into Edelman. That turned into braided and Belichick thinking they could do it with anybody. But when they did it best was when they had Randy Moss. When they did it best, and I remember this one specifically, you probably do too, Greg, the undefeated Patriots that were totally overwhelming. Better than any of the teams you're watching playing football today, including San Francisco, undefeated and deserved it. I remember specifically them coming into town, the Patriots of Tom braided and Randy Moss. Tom braided threw deep into obvious double coverage, and Randy Moss just jumped over two dolphins and had a touchdown 70 yards down the field. Go look at the difference in Tom Brady's numbers when he had Randy Moss and when he didn't have Randy Moss. It's staggering, the difference, because Randy Moss, by many accounts, is the greatest.

[00:03:13]

Receiver ever. He had 50 touchdowns and eight interceptions. I mean- A lot of people with- -by far his best year.

[00:03:19]

He is certainly the best deep threat in the history of the sport. But Wes Welker is here to tell you with all of those his bona fides. I played with Tom braided, I was with Belichick, I was with Randy Moss. I know what I'm talking about here. Tyreek Hill is better than Randy Moss because he's more diverse as a route runner than Randy Moss.

[00:03:40]

I mean, and I all do respect to Randy. I love Randy. Randy is probably the best deep ball receiver ever in the game. But Reed can run it all. Reed can run the whole route tree. He can run choice routes. He can run Luki. He can take the top off. His ball skills, the coming in and out of breaks, name a route you don't like him on. I just can't think of one. To me, that's what separates him in that regard and just his mindset and the way he approaches every single day and every single game. It's very, very impressive. He's got the mentality along with all those things, which is the most important part. I mean, he's probably where he separates himself the most.

[00:04:33]

I do not want to be a prisoner of the moment. I saw Randy Moss. I think Randall Cunningham was out of the league and became MVP because he had Randy Moss. This is just done for, something like that was just done for Toa. Toa was not a great quarterback, and suddenly he is a great quarterback.

[00:04:51]

Yeah, Tyrie Kales played with Toa, and he's played with Patrick Mohomes. Those are very good quarterbacks. Randy Moss did it with Randall Cunningham. As you mentioned, Brad Johnson, George, Doc Belman, anybody- With everyone. Yeah. Outside of maybe a slow spell when he was with the Oakland Raiders, he put up numbers with anybody.

[00:05:09]

By the way, the Chiefs right now without Tyrake, I know they were without him last year and did better. The offense is pretty ordinary this year, the Chief's offense.

[00:05:18]

They won a Super Bowl. They won a.

[00:05:20]

Super Bowl. They won a Super Bowl. They won a Super Bowl. I'm talking about the offense. It's going to be easy, Greg. I know. The offense, last time I looked, was 18th or 20th in the League in scoring. That's middling. Patrick Moh homes is not putting up MVP numbers this year.

[00:05:31]

This is the first time in his career that the defense is better than the offense in.

[00:05:35]

Kansas City. Yes, Scott, I don't actually think it's confusing. These things deteriorate over time. It doesn't happen from one season to the next. It takes a minute. The weakening of the offense started last year, and they won the Super Bowl anyway. This year, the defense is better than that. They look more questionable to win the Super Bowl because they simply... Man, they lost a game because they couldn't catch one of those deep balls. In the game, we just watched of Miami because I thought this part was interesting. You have in Tampa, and listen to what I'm saying here because I just heard Andrew Hawkins, Tomahawk totally found its footing yesterday and had the best day I've seen them have or heard them have. Andrew Hawkins was talking about, Mike Evans has to be considered the best receiver of this time, is what he was saying, because it's 10 straight years of thousand-yard seasons. He's saying he's going to keep doing that. I'm thinking about it for a second. I'm like, I can't be the best receiver of this time. Tyreeke Hill came here because he doesn't want to be Mike Evans anymore. He wants to be the guy, guy who makes everyone else.

[00:06:48]

He doesn't want to be Patrick my home's shadow. He wants to be the reason. What I saw that was interesting yesterday is somebody on Twitter put up that they couldn't explain to me how bad a throw that was that Toa made on one of Tyreke Hill's long balls. Tyreke Hill's response was, Bad take. I ran the wrong route. When Tyreke Hill leaves Kansas City, and he tells you it wasn't just about money that he believes in the things here. Tyreke Hill has supported his quarterback from day one in a way that makes their success shared and makes their bond real. Because Tyreke Hill doesn't have to do that. The tweet was celebrating. Look at how amazing Tyreke Hill is because of how bad a throw this is. Tyreke Hill is going out of his way to say, That's my fault. My quarterback threw it in the right spot, I ran to the.

[00:07:48]

Wrong spot. But to your point, this situation, you're right, Dan, is very different. If he's doing this, and he did with Patrick Mohomes, no one is talking about Tareke Hill as the MVP. Right now, they're talking about Tariq Hill as MVP. Everyone would assign the credit to Patrick Mohomes, some to Hill. Right now, they're giving it all to Tariq Hill. But frame it.

[00:08:07]

The way I'm telling you. I don't believe there's anyone listening to this who would try to make the argument that Mike Evans is the best receiver of the last 10 years, even though it's an argument that can be made. And Tarik Hill was tired of that in Kansas City. Stugat, Mostard has 16 touchdowns. That led the league before McAfrey played on Sunday. He's got 16 touchdowns as a product of that offense. He's not the special person in that offense.

[00:08:34]

Part of the reason he has 16 touchdowns is that the running game benefits so greatly from the deep threat that Tyree Kill provides. When I write that Tyree Kyl should be the front runner in the MVP race, part of it is that he has elevated Toa to the point where Toa is right ahead of him in the latest MVP betting odds I've seen, because the quarterback is.

[00:09:00]

Always going to be a win. But this is what's fascinating to me about how we do this to both Mike Evans and Tyree Kill. Winning is the biggest thing, and then we give the quarterback the biggest thing. You win, we'll give you the credit. Even if you're Tebo, we will give you the credit as being a great quarterback. But we're going to find one way to give the winner the credit or the quarterback the credit. It's why it's not the wide receivers in the commercials. It's the quarterbacks in the commercial.

[00:09:22]

And the Kelsies.

[00:09:22]

Yeah. There is an AP, NFL Offensive Player of the Year award in which rationalized one goes to one guy, the other goes to the other guy. For what it's worth, Tyreke Hill is presently the betting favorite on AP, NFL, Offensive Player of the Year.

[00:09:38]

Right, but the AP has awarded 66 MVP awards. Zero have gone to a wide receiver. Jerry Rice never won. Randy Moss never won. That has to stop if Tyree Kill is the first ever with a 2,000-yard season and is doing what he's doing for a.

[00:09:54]

Super Bowl contender. Presently for the MVP, Brock Purdy is now leading.

[00:09:57]

The last four years, the Offensive Player of the Year has gone to position players each year. In 2019, it was Michael Thomas. 2020, Derrick Henry. 2021, Cooper Cup. 2022, Justin Jefferson. It reasons to stand, Tyreeke Hill will win that.

[00:10:10]

This season. Yeah, but the- It's almost understood that MVP, quarterback ward, offensive player of the year, we reward the guys that we don't make MVP.

[00:10:16]

Right. The offensive player of the Year is a consolation prize because you know that a quarterback is going to win the big prize, so you give the consolation to the Tyreeke Hills. That has to change.

[00:10:28]

Where's Mike.

[00:10:28]

Mcdaniel on the MVP odds?

[00:10:30]

Put it on the pole, JuJu. Where's Mike McDaniel on the MVP odds? Yes or no? And it reasons to stand has to become a T-shirt because Jeremy prides himself on being an Emmy-winning broadcaster who speaks correctly, and it reasons to stand is not how you meant to say that.

[00:10:47]

You're right.

[00:10:48]

An Emmy-winning broadcast.

[00:10:49]

I am. Jerry Emmy.

[00:10:52]

I like that. Jeremy Tash.

[00:10:55]

The amazing part about what we're talking about here, I think, is that Tyreeke Hill came here to be the reason for winning an offense, and he succeeded.

[00:11:07]

Pick this over New York.

[00:11:09]

Where New York was offering him... I want to talk about that for a second.

[00:11:13]

That was a fun time.

[00:11:14]

New York offered him $6 million more. $6 million more. Taxes. That's correct. Taxes is part of it, but he makes the argument that it wasn't just taxes. I learned the other day, you know who is the team that hasn't made the playoffs in the NFL for the longest time. The jets? Yeah, it's 12 years. It's 12 years without making the playoffs. I think second place is like Houston, and it's seven years. It's a stretch of really-That's.

[00:11:41]

Going to end.

[00:11:41]

-it's really terrible. They're still looking for a wide receiver. But when you talk about the reasons for winnings, Dugald, I was trying to say this yesterday. I now understand with McAfrey and what he's doing in San Francisco. I didn't understand it at the time, why the Dolphins were trying to get in on Jonathan Taylor and a bunch of other running backs. Because if most can get to 16 touchdowns, do you turn Jonathan Taylor into McAfrey by putting him in this offense?

[00:12:14]

You also follow the San Francisco formula, which Mike McDaniel is very familiar with, which is load up on talent if you have a reasonable contract at the quarterback position. Now that they've jettisoned Jimmy Garapola, they've doubled down on that in San Francisco. Also, let's not disrespect Gabriel Wilson over New York. He's a pretty special wide receiver.

[00:12:36]

Garrett Wilson, that's fine. Garrett Wilson, yeah.

[00:12:38]

I said don't disrespect the man.

[00:12:40]

You would think of Gabe Davis. He's up north of New York.

[00:12:42]

He's terrible. No, I.

[00:12:43]

Just thought he's-Sometimes he's good. Sometimes he's terrible. No, he is not go nights. Yeah, he's confusing, Gabe Davis. I mean, he is.

[00:12:48]

I look in a mirror here. It brings me great joy to see you being the one screwing up the nails.

[00:12:55]

A little heat off you.

[00:12:59]

I'm just a little. I'm just just a little.

[00:13:04]

Don Lebertard. Chris Cody does an impression. Just be careful.

[00:13:08]

It's a dangerous game. This is a dangerous game.

[00:13:10]

Just be careful. I don't want to play this game.

[00:13:11]

No, he was saying, Man, I could do such a great.

[00:13:13]

Kenrae- No, I don't want to play this game.

[00:13:15]

He's like, Man, I.

[00:13:16]

Can talk to you if you don't like him. This is who we're going to.

[00:13:18]

Trust with this. Let's let Ameen do it, I think.

[00:13:20]

Spugots. I think you.

[00:13:22]

Could do it, Chris, because you.

[00:13:23]

Did a great Charles Barkley. You're one-for-one there. Did no one just hear the segment we just did with Ameen? We cannot be.

[00:13:29]

Taking- A Meen's judgment is.

[00:13:30]

Not the best. -counsel from the local drunk on whether or not you should do the impersonation of a black man stumbling over his words. You don't see the.

[00:13:39]

Bad- There was. Moses and Moody. Moody, Moses. Moses, Moody. Don't, don't, don't. Do youthat it.

[00:13:45]

Sounds worse.

[00:13:47]

Chris, be careful, man.

[00:13:49]

We cannot do this. It's too close to the line. This is where the line is. Something legitimately funny can't be funny because we're scared our Ginger is going to do something racist by accident.

[00:13:59]

Carry on, Dan.

[00:14:01]

Rachel? Dan, the line is.

[00:14:03]

Where we feel alive, though.

[00:14:05]

This is the Dan Levator Show with the Stoo Gats. This giant jolly man is at the center of the Miami Dolphins defense. He's a menace. Yeah, but he's also jolly. It's a little confusing. I'd want him to chase me to go and celebrate a party, but I wouldn't want him to chase me if we were… I didn't want to be harmed. Thank you, Christian Wilkins, for being on with us. Just explain to me, though, is there anyone in your locker room having more fun than you are?

[00:14:39]

First of all, thanks for having me. I appreciate being on the show. Definitely, you watched the show for a while, so thanks for having me on. But yeah, I guess not. I really enjoy my job. I really love what I do. I'm happy to be doing what I love. I always bring a kid spirit and a fun spirit playing this game because it definitely brings me a lot of joy. I have a lot of fun with it, so I'm always going to have a.

[00:15:02]

Good time. You are also, though, the best talker on the team, correct? Not just in interview settings, but in terms of on the field, correct? Yeah. Everyone would concede Christian is the best trash talker we have.

[00:15:15]

I was going to say some would say, most would say that's probably the case. But yeah, I'm just doing me out there most of the time. Like I said, having a good time, having a fun time playing the game, I always played my whole life. So yeah, most probably would say I can talk.

[00:15:29]

About that. Who would be second? Who would object to you being nominated as the best trash talker?

[00:15:36]

That's a good question. Jaylen's got some stuff, especially when he gets going, when he gets into it, Jaylen Ramsey. But I think I'll probably take the top spot, but we could both get cooking together a little bit and ruffle some feathers.

[00:15:50]

Are you talking trash to everyone or are you waiting to spot a weakness in someone that you're playing against and then start talking trash.

[00:15:57]

To them? This trash talk to me is an art. I'm going, I'm I always turned up on Game Day going all day every day. But then when there's something specific I could potentially get on or really dive into a little bit, I mean, that's when it might show up a little bit more. But yeah, I'm just nonstop out there pretty much.

[00:16:13]

All right, we're going to give you here some video from that popular Kelsey podcast here, and I want you to break it. I want you to break this down with us. Let's do it. Something about a good insult where it's like, You can't even get mad at it. It's just great. You got.

[00:16:29]

To tell.

[00:16:30]

The one, man. Which one? I got a bunch. You got.

[00:16:32]

To tell.

[00:16:33]

The Miami.

[00:16:33]

Joint.

[00:16:34]

Practice one. Dude, Wilkins was talking trash just in the practice. He was talking trash. And then I started yapping at him, which pretty big party file about me because I wasn't able to practice. You were practicing? Yeah. So I'm over here yelling. And all of a sudden, out of nowhere, Jaylen Philip says, Shut up, eyebrows. You ain't even practicing. And I was like, Dude. What the fuck you just called me eyebrows? I can't even come back from that.

[00:16:59]

That boy got.

[00:17:01]

Some thick ass eyebrows, man. Like a dad from American Pie. I mean, there ain't too many dudes got eyebrows like this. What do you have for us there, Christian?

[00:17:11]

No, I mean, everything he said is pretty spot on. It was a joint practice, and it was like later on in camp, so the energy was low and whatever. I just got going. I was just like, man, let's go. I just set the tone. I was talking trash and got everybody fired up on both sides, either the Eagle side, our side, and just got everybody going. And like Jason said, he wasn't even practicing. He was just off to the side, just over there. But he was getting into it because he saw me going. So he's the leader of their team. So he's getting his whole line fired up and everything. But yeah, and so the next play got chippy. And I guess Jaylen just looked over at him and like, He didn't know who he was. Jaylen was young at the time. He didn't know, I guess he doesn't know who Jason Kelsie is. And he's just like, Man, stop talking eyebrows. You're not even practicing. It was just like that. But it was real funny. The energy at practice was great. That's why I said the art of trash talking. I got everybody fired up, got everybody going.

[00:18:14]

That's what I honestly wanted, just to bring that intensity to practice and set the tone for my teammates.

[00:18:19]

I don't think that us watching the game can possibly understand just watching who's a good center and who's not a good center. You tell us, Jason, Kelsey, in terms of people that you've played against. What does the top of that list look like where you're impressed by someone's strength and someone's size and mobility and you're like, All right, I got my hands full today. This one's going to be a little harder than most.

[00:18:42]

Yeah, Jason is one of them just because he's a vet, he's savvy, he just knows where his help is, everything. There's some good runs around and there's some underrated ones, too, as well. I don't really like Ted Kerris. He was a former teammate of mine, but he's just stronger than most centers. He's got that grit too. He's got that nastyness to him, which is rare a lot of the time for a lot of centers or offensive alignment. He's one of them. There's a few guys around. Obviously, Ryan Kelly, he's pretty good as well. But yeah, those are just a couple of them when I think about it that come.

[00:19:20]

To mind to me. Is anyone ever stronger than you?

[00:19:25]

I mean, come on. I'm not going to say like I'm the strongest man in the world, but.

[00:19:33]

I can always- No, but I don't mean anyone in the world. I just mean do you ever feel a sense of-.

[00:19:37]

You assaulted him, dad.

[00:19:38]

Do you feel a sense of strength and are like, Okay, this guy is as strong as.

[00:19:43]

I am? No, absolutely. There's some good players in this league. There's some good, strong players in this league. You just got to find other ways to get your job done effectively if they're a little stronger than you, if they got some silverback qualities to them.

[00:19:56]

Christian, I want to know what is your official review of the Tyreeke Hill-led roller coaster touchdown celebration.

[00:20:06]

I didn't know that was planned. That was actually pretty elite, if I do say so myself. The offensive has been doing a great job putting up some points. And then also just having some swag and having some fun when they do score. I'm glad I get a front row seat to it a lot of the time, and I try to join in as much as I can because it's a lot of fun. Our offense is so explosive. But that was top tier right there. I didn't know that was planned. They did it. I was like, just as surprised as everyone. I thought that was well executed, well done. And shout out to Rob Hunt. I didn't realize he was the deal in the sea, but that was a nice touch. I didn't realize that until later on. But yeah, that was really cool. Exactly. They did a good job. The details were elite and the execution was elite.

[00:20:46]

Has Fan Gio ever left?

[00:20:51]

Yeah, I don't know. I'm still waiting. I'm still waiting. Maybe in his own way, he'll give a smirk. He's got his like, his old man humor, but he's cool. I love fan of the deal, but yeah, he's definitely got his ways and his jokes and his dad jokes or his dad moments, and he's just real subtle. He's not as animated as me, per se, but he's got his moments.

[00:21:17]

This is not... Greg, please stop drinking during the interview. We'll hear you drinking. We can hear you. Why is he drinking your water bottle? It's just not something-They.

[00:21:26]

Did not.

[00:21:26]

Realize that. You're in front of a microphone and picks up what you're doing. Okay, I apologize. Christian, I'm putting you in a bad spot here and on the front end. This is not got you journalism. It's just me asking the shitty question that's not meant to trap you, but you've watched enough of this offense and its changes to be able to answer this question for me in a way that if you're honest about it, might give us some insight. So if I ask you and make you to choose one MVP of your offense, and it's Tua or McDaniel or Hill or Mostart or whoever you want to pick as your MVP with the front end saying, I'm forcing you to pick one, this is not got you journalism. Just help me understand who's the MVP of this offense? What's your answer?

[00:22:06]

That's really tough. That's a good question. You could go a lot of different ways with this because, again, our offense is crazy. So many different weapons. But I'm going to give a shout out to some people that don't get a lot of credit. And suddenly, I would say Alec Engled-.

[00:22:22]

Oh, this is a lie. This is.

[00:22:25]

A lie. That is well done.

[00:22:30]

Master-no, no, no. Let him finish.

[00:22:31]

Let him finish.

[00:22:32]

Let him finish. No, no, no. There ain't no lie. I'm standing on business. And his value and what he brings to the offense is insurmountable, really. Just the versatility he brings and the different things he does. Really just the... He sets the tone a lot of the time for our offense. So I'm going to say that number one. No, I'm standing on business, and I'm going to say that. Yes, Alec, number one. Number one, that's 1A and 1B. I'm going to give a shout out to my boys upfront because they've been doing a great, solid job all year. They get great looks and great reps and practice going against our D-line. They're prepared for what they see on Sunday. They've been doing a great job all year. Those are my two MVPs.

[00:23:10]

That is a masterclass in avoiding a question, Dan. You will not trap Christian Wilkins. It's bullshit.

[00:23:15]

You got the wrong one, not me. He just.

[00:23:17]

Swim moved me. I'm going to give.

[00:23:19]

Him a standing ovation right now. That's no, that.

[00:23:21]

You're elucid, no. That was a swim.

[00:23:22]

Move right there. Low man wins.

[00:23:24]

That was a big man win. Let it go. Let it go. All right. After them, if I give you the only three choices, and you're not the only veteran here. If I only give you the three choices of McDaniel and Toa, and Hill after Ingold in your offensive line, which is a bullshit answer.

[00:23:44]

Total bullshit. No, you're not going to.

[00:23:47]

Get me.

[00:23:48]

I'm saying what I say, but I'm saying all business.

[00:23:53]

All right, speaking of business, you were very professional this offseason when the business of money made an appearance? How difficult was that for you in a sport where you're breaking your bodies on behalf of the organization and everyone in your huddle wants to get their money?

[00:24:12]

Yeah. Like you said, it's just part of the business. But at this point in the season, I just love ball and I love playing with my teammates and I'm having a lot of fun. That's really just the focus for me, is just being the best I can now for my guys and having a lot of fun because this year has been great. This is the most fun I probably had in football in a while. That's saying a lot because I enjoy this game, I love this game, and I just play with such passion for this year just to be as special as it is not because of wins, not because of nothing, but just because of the people and everything. It's just been a lot of fun. I'm just enjoying it while I have it now. Just being a part of this team, we're having a great time and just the energy around here is great and all that. Everybody who's working in the building. It's just been a lot of fun this year, just a lot of different energy. I'm just excited to be a part.

[00:24:57]

Of that. If you had to pick what felt better, here or Clemson? Here or all the winning at Clemson?

[00:25:04]

Yeah, Clemson was definitely obviously really special for me. Great university, Go Tiger's. Clemson was really obviously special for me. I had a great time there winning championships and finding my best friends for life. The other D-line men that are in the league now, that was real cool and real awesome. There wasn't really any time like college because that's when you're coming into adulthood and you're finding your way with your brothers. You're all just broke and hungry and you know what I'm saying? And just trying to go get it and all that stuff. So that was special. But like I said, this year has been really fun too, and just really special for me to this point. Hopefully there's more good times to.

[00:25:43]

Come ahead. We have less than a minute here, Christian. Did Florida State get robbed?

[00:25:49]

I'm an HCC guy. I think with the circumstances and it's tough because it is for the state, but I think they definitely should have made it. They earned the right and they're undefeated. They're in a power five conference. So I think that you definitely should have... They've earned the right to be.

[00:26:04]

In there. But we can laugh at them, right? It's pretty fun, though. F. S. U, right?

[00:26:07]

Come on. You're right.

[00:26:08]

Yeah. Oh, man.

[00:26:11]

But hey, like I said, wait, tell me real quick. I got a question for you, Dan, because I said I've been watching the show for a while. How's Poppy, man? That was my guy. I loved when you all used to get on and sing on the show. During the little breaks, he do like to sing it. I never forget the one time he was singing Megos. That was hilarious. But yeah, like I said, I always watched the show, so I just wanted to check in to see.

[00:26:33]

How pop is going. Thank you for asking. He will be thrilled that you asked, even though he prefers only Cuban dolphins. Those are his.

[00:26:43]

Well.

[00:26:44]

I know a little kid.

[00:26:46]

I've been down here for a while. I know little Espano.

[00:26:50]

He just turned 80, so he will be very happy to hear that the center of the Dolphins Defense, an underrated Dolphins Defense, is a fan. Thank you for making the time. We're a fan too, sir. It's been a pleasure to watch you work.

[00:27:03]

Yes, sir. Appreciate you guys. Thank you. I appreciate that. It's definitely humbling to think you're having me on the show.

[00:27:08]

All right. Thank you, Christian.

[00:27:09]

All right.

[00:27:11]

Thank you, sir.

[00:27:13]

That was fun, man. Thank you.

[00:27:14]

All right, good deal. You all have a good one.

[00:27:15]

Appreciate you guys. I noticed, Chris Cody, you said that under your breath. I understand you said that well said to him because he said, Thank you for having me on the program. He said it in my ear. Yeah, and he said well said, Well said. But then he ran out. That guy ran out like a coward. Right. Like a coward. Good seeing you, missed you. All right, you all.

[00:27:33]

You want to have him chase you at a party for celebrating or chase you with violence?

[00:27:39]

We started and we ended. I don't know. He was chasing.

[00:27:42]

Them somewhere. Yeah.

[00:27:43]

Food.

[00:27:43]

Kink, and food again.

[00:27:45]

Don Lebertard. I got somebody here making fun of me. How old do you have to be to reference Shecky Green? Man, I went comedically there with the funny name of a comedian. That's on you for not knowing who Shecky Green is. You got to know.

[00:27:57]

Who Shecky.

[00:27:57]

Green is. You don't have to know who Shecky Green is, but I- I don't like your ally. No, I don't like my allies here.

[00:28:01]

The thing is the Borch Belt- Stugaz. I have the soul of a Borch Belt comedian. I should be in the Catskills in 1945, opening for Shecky Green. That's who I was destined to be. This is the.

[00:28:13]

Dan Levator Show with.

[00:28:14]

The Stugaz.

[00:28:17]

Yesterday, Tony had to put napkins in his nose because he went 90 minutes without being able to talk about professional Sunday football and the takes were coming out of him, but there was no room at the microphones. And I believe Lucy has needed the same tissues today because she has a lot of college football opinions. And we covered this ground so thoroughly yesterday. But, Lucy, you're one of our experts on the incredibly popular, not named footgirls, but Jessica yesterday slipped up and said it was okay.

[00:28:55]

To- She speaks.

[00:28:56]

For her, not me. -to name it footgirls. She slipped on it, but we took that as consent, and we want to call it footgirls. Lucy doesn't want it, footgirls. But Lucy and Jessica are doing one of the best college football podcasts that are out there. And I do want your expertise here to explain to me everything you saw, what was funniest, as you've consumed all of the jokes on social media, lay out for us what's the best stuff from everything that you saw in the chaos of Sunday.

[00:29:23]

That is a tough ask, but I think the funniest part is the collective agreement that, man, this had to be really wrong for us to all feel bad for Florida State. That is the team that we are... Oh, my God. That is the team we are sympathizing with. There's a foot in my face for the.

[00:29:40]

Audio listeners. All right, listen, actually, let's do it this way. Lucy, we will support your analysis, and you can go for as long as you like talking about college football. All of us will simply support you with, and let's make this light, not too loud so that they can hear, the audience can hear what she's doing. We will support you with the soundtrack to this. But your analysis, Idon't get distracted. Don't let us distract you. You're ready?

[00:30:02]

All right, this is my moment.

[00:30:03]

Okay, all right.

[00:30:05]

All right, so my biggest takeaway from this is that I don't think it really mattered that Alabama beat Georgia. I think regardless, Florida State was going to get left out. When they dropped Florida State to five two weeks ago after Jordan Travis got hurt, they made that decision that they were going to cut Florida State out. And I actually don't think it's because Jordan, Travis, got hurt. I think it's because the ACC is bad, and they're punishing Florida State for being in the ACC. And I think this is going to be the death of it. This is going to be the nail in the conference that ends that conference. This whole thing was all going to happen. They were always going to leave Florida State out. That was always the plan. And I feel bad for them. I feel really rough. And people were coming out and saying it's TCU's fault. It's not TCU's fault. If people were coming out saying it's because of the injury, it's really not 100 % because of the injury. This was all a master plan to get us to like the 12th team playoff, even though I think that's a better idea as well.

[00:30:54]

So close. You had it. It's okay, we'll do it again. This is.

[00:30:57]

Really close to.

[00:30:58]

My mouth. I really don't.

[00:30:59]

It. It is really.

[00:31:00]

Close to my mouth. Why did the committee put FSU before that if they were going to do this?

[00:31:06]

I have no idea. The committee really hurt themselves by putting Alabama at eight when I think they always knew whoever won that game between Georgia and Alabama, they were going to put in. They honestly should have put Alabama up earlier, but there was no real way to do it. You couldn't put them above Texas. They have a head-to-head loss to Texas. Oregon, Washington, it would have been weird to drop them for no reason. It was just a weird situation where they screwed themselves over with rankings. But let me tell you now, they were never going to let Florida State in. That was always the plan. Like if Georgia had won, Georgia would have made it. Agreed? Florida State still wouldn't have been there.

[00:31:40]

Are you in agreement with Stephen A. Smith that everything else is totally the same, but Deion Sanders is the coach of F. S. U, because they gave him the job instead of Norvel? Yes or no?

[00:31:51]

Say that one more time. Arch, flat, tongue.

[00:31:53]

Stephen A. Smith had the best take of any of the takes when he argued that if F. S. U, all the things were the same, but Deion Sanders was their coach, they'd be in.

[00:32:01]

Yes. Well, the problem with that is Stephen A. Put that right next to the dumbest take of all time, which is that it was because TCU got blown out by Georgia, even though they won the semifinal game against Michigan. So it negated it for me a little, but that is true. But it was this weird thing that I saw yesterday of people being like, Florida State is not there because of TV ratings. Florida State is a team people tune into. That doesn't really make sense to me. But I do believe I agree with him 100 %. If Deion were the head coach, absolutely, they would have made it.

[00:32:29]

I think toes.

[00:32:31]

The optics of this are troubling to me.

[00:32:33]

Chris Cody- Yeah, I didn't enjoy that.

[00:32:35]

Not as much as I thought I would, anyways.

[00:32:38]

Chris Cody, at some point during the show, I am going to unveil what would have been my top four. Well, it's.

[00:32:46]

About time. Yeah, I mean, we asked yesterday. You gave us Washington, so you're going to give us the other three. Feels like he has 10 teams in there.

[00:32:53]

Well.

[00:32:53]

It's fun. He's got to have full drama. He's got to show us a six. You need to know how things really were shaking out.

[00:32:59]

Top six, start at six.

[00:33:00]

The advantage that our show has over all other pods in the market is time spent listening, time spent watching. I've got to drag it out. I'd prefer.

[00:33:10]

To- T. S. W.

[00:33:11]

-do it at the end of the week, but I've been forced by this situation to do it today because you can only tease the audience so much. But speaking of teasing and teases, Mike Ryan's father, we discovered yesterday, as a group, is beautiful. And we also discovered yesterday that somehow he is older than Greg Cody. And I can't believe that those two human beings that Greg Cody is the younger one. Please put up behind me the picture of Greg Cody looking finest, looking as good as he's ever looked, and find for me the picture as well of Mike Ryan's father, so that we can put next to each other these two human beings so that people can see. Because Mike Ryan's father, I couldn't believe Greg Cody, that he is older than you, even though you are very discreet about your age. You try not to tell people what your age is. You're weirdly protective.

[00:34:12]

Of that. Really? I've mentioned it on my own Greg Cody Show podcast quite often, dropping every Monday wherever you get your pods.

[00:34:22]

You literally never said it on.

[00:34:24]

That podcast.

[00:34:25]

No, I have. It was just you promoting it. It was a way.

[00:34:27]

Of promoting the pod. No, because when I turned 69, I made a joke that that's a weird age because everybody's going to make their little jokes and make their little-Thanks for making it weird. And so that's how old I am. I have no idea how old Mike's father is.

[00:34:45]

Your age.

[00:34:46]

He's exactly my age.

[00:34:47]

But he doesn't look it.

[00:34:49]

He.

[00:34:50]

Doesn't. He's a young 69.

[00:34:52]

Right. I'm an old 69. Right. Yeah. Yeah. I look old for my age. I look 89. That's where you're supposed to say, No, you don't look at me. I mean, come on, let's not get carried away. But what can I tell you? I mean, it is what it is. Something interesting. He brought it up. He did ask.

[00:35:11]

The question, you're.

[00:35:12]

Right, Greg. I mean, how am I supposed to react to somebody comparing me to somebody else my age and saying he looks younger than you? I mean, how does one respond to that? Congrats to Mike's father, that thing.

[00:35:25]

Can I ask you guys off of last night's game, Jacksonville and Cincinnati. I'm always laughing at the fact that the sound when it comes from Jacksonville and Jacksonville sports, the audio, the video, all of it seems like it's a little behind the rest of us. Something about the coverage and the information coming out of Jacksonville is a little more polluted and feels like not quite as pure as some of the other places. So Jacksonville, in general, Florida is a strange place. Jacksonville is quintessentially Florida. And yesterday, while Trevor Lawrence, who's pretty valuable, is on a bad ankle. I'm thinking to myself, and Don Van Nata pointed this out, he's limping all the way back to the locker room. There are so many golf carts in this state, and your quarterback and your economy is hobbled on a clearly bad ankle. And he's walking all the way back to the locker room when every weekend I'm watching guys who aren't as valuable as Trevor Lawrence in terms of salary. I'm wondering to myself, how is it that Trevor Lawrence is making his way all the way back to the locker room on a bad ankle when he's a quarterback for a billion dollar industry?

[00:36:37]

With no transportation?

[00:36:38]

A multibillion dollar industry. You've got a golf cart. You've got a jet's.

[00:36:43]

Golf cart. Yeah, I drive it everywhere. I drive it to get the mail. The mail's 25 yards away.

[00:36:48]

Somebody should have lifted him, cradled him like a toddler and carried him. Agreed. He's like six-six. Agreed.

[00:36:55]

It doesn't matter. Sometimes you got to walk it off, though. I mean, you do. You got to walk it off. Right. I mean, he walked it off.

[00:37:01]

He did. Rubbed some dirt on it. I can lift someone who's six-six. If McGill was in here right now, I'd lift him. I'd cradle him like a toddler and carry him out here. Greg, you're an old person. I've got old man's strength.

[00:37:11]

All right, let's try it. I'm six.

[00:37:14]

Well, not you. No. I mean, someone not quite as earthy. I deal. I mean, give me a thin man. I'll lift Bellamy in a heartbeat. Are you kidding me?

[00:37:26]

All right, let's go. Roy, go in there. Roy, get in here. Come on. I got to see this.

[00:37:30]

No, this is good. But if I strain my.

[00:37:32]

Back- You're going to strain your back.

[00:37:34]

-he's going to hurt himself. I'm a little concerned. Someone needs to protect themselves and say, This is a bad idea on him.

[00:37:39]

What's Roy weigh? About 150.

[00:37:41]

190 is what he said. No way. We'll do that for.

[00:37:42]

This, but not the foothold thing. Does he really weigh 190? Yeah. When I made that offer, I thought he weighed 150. Roy, you don't weigh 190.

[00:37:49]

Is 150 your limit? Is that what you're saying?

[00:37:52]

Yeah, who here weighs 150? Anybody?

[00:37:56]

You looked at me, but.

[00:37:58]

No, sorry. Wait a minute. What just happened? So Roy's leaving the room.

[00:38:02]

And we're not going to get the 180. I don't lift 188. I'm sorry.

[00:38:06]

You.

[00:38:07]

Just.

[00:38:08]

Said you could lift McGill.

[00:38:11]

You just said you could lift the.

[00:38:12]

Sixth person. Is it Whenmanyama? What are you? You just need an incredibly thin person.

[00:38:18]

Louis.

[00:38:18]

Looks thin, man. Louis should be like 150. Let's get Louis in there.

[00:38:21]

All right, let's go.

[00:38:22]

I don't.

[00:38:22]

Want that. I'll lift him in a heartbeat. I am so tired of Louis on camera. I'm worried about that heartbeat. I'm so tired of Louis on camera. I'm going to be the last one. I don't want Louis on camera.

[00:38:32]

Dan, contextually, we need a 150-pound man.

[00:38:35]

All right, Louis, come on. Let's go, Louis. Go on, Louis. Go ahead. Contextually, we need the payoff here- Hat.

[00:38:40]

On too. Wow, so.

[00:38:41]

150- Of Greg Cody. I want you to cradle him behind me. No, get over here. Get behind me.

[00:38:49]

Don't lift with your back. Lift with your legs.

[00:38:51]

No, do it all back. Yeah, that's how.

[00:38:52]

You do it. -it's the.

[00:38:53]

Same, legs. -tanseid legs.

[00:38:54]

Plant your feet. Greg, do not injure yourself here.

[00:38:56]

-dig your grape toe into the ground.

[00:38:58]

Hey, hold on a second. Put the photo of Greg Cody's awful face behind him, please. Lewis would normally do that. We've got another video department. It's not just Lewis. We've got other people. I know we're paying other people back there. Go ahead. You're only doing it once. I want to.

[00:39:13]

Make it clear I'm going to make.

[00:39:15]

This decision. You got to hold it for as long as.

[00:39:17]

You can. Oh, wow. We did it.

[00:39:19]

What an upset. Yes. Not a thin mouthing man. Not anything he said he was going to do. Just a light, frail man I didn't want on camera. Yes, hooray. Thank you for Greg Cody. Not doing what he said he was going to do. No way. The Greg Cody experience, everybody.

[00:39:36]

I did what.

[00:39:37]

I said I was going to do.
