Thank you. This is our ballet bar. Our professional ballerinas learn balances and how to be more flexible all with this bar. The first thing a ballerina needs to know is first position. You're going to get those feet together nice and tight, and just open up your toes like a piece of pizza. Pizza. Then stand up super tall. I like to only put two fingers on the bar, so we're not putting too much weight on it, but just enough to stand super tall.

Okay.

Now, there are some ballet moves that we need to know because they're important, and then there are some that are just super tall. We're going to start with one that's important. Always use plié. Can you guys say plié? Plie.

Plie.

Excellent. We're just going to bend down, but keep tall. Yeah, and then set it back up, and then down. And up. Look at you. You look like a real ballet dancer. Yeah. Do you guys think you know what plié might mean? Our knees do it when we do the plie.

They're bending.

Yes, that's so good.

Plie means to bend.

That makes sense. We look like frogs, though. Like we're about to jump in the air. Exactly. That's what we're looking Wow. Really?

We're going to take that plié and we're going to jump straight up into the sky and land back in that first position.

That was really cool.

That move is called sauté. Can you guys say sauté?

Saute. Perfect.

Saute means to jump. You got it.

You guys are so smart. I saw it.

So good. Okay, another important one. That one was super fun. Another important one is passe. Passe. You're going to slide that toe up to your knee, finding your balance. Keep that knee pushed back, stand super tall, and you're going to stand a little right back down. It's like an elevator ride. Your toe takes up the leg.

Jay is going for a ride.

Then back down to first position.

That's so good.

Wow. That is really fun.

One more at the Okay. Also super important. Tendu.

Tendu.

Tendu. It's like what you did next door. It's the first thing I do in the morning.

It means to stretch. I love stretching.

It's for our leg and our ankle. You're going to stay in that first position. You're going to do your best to slide that toe forward, keep your toe on the floor, and then slide it back. Perfect. Then use the other leg, slide it forward as far as you can and stretch. Then bring it back to first.

That feels good.

Yeah, it does.

Ton, two. Ton, two. Excellent. That's to the front. You can also go side. Okay. Then to the other side. You can also go back. Then you can connect all those tendoos and make a circle around yourself.

This is fun. It feels like skating. Yeah. We learned a A lot of ballet already.

These are some of the tiniest, tiniest frogs I've ever seen. These are poisonous dark frogs and can typically be found in the rainforest. Do you know what color that is? Yeah, it's like a red orange. Poisonous dark frogs come in so many different sorts of colors, and their bright colors tell animals and people to stay away because they're really poisonous, but they're so cute. I think there's some more over here. Come on.

These have white stripes down their back.

It looks so cool.

They're It's poisonous because of the poison in the food that they eat. You have to stay away. But wow, they're just really adorable and fabulous.

Check it out. More frogs. These are magnificent tree frogs. It's the color green. Yeah, that's called camouflage. It blends in with its environment. Yeah, do you know what is green in here? Yeah, leaves. So then other animals can't see those frogs. So cool. Look down here. These are Mexican salamanders. Yeah, also known as oxalotls.

For skate, you're going to pull and push out. Then we're going to do that on the next foot. Then next foot. You get it? Because that is how you skate. If you're in roller skates or roller blades, you do it to the side.
