So much to learn about. It'll make you want to shout. Blippy.

[00:00:07]

Hey, it's me Blippy. And look where I'm at. Today, I'm at Triple Play Family Fun Park in Hayden, Idaho, and this place has a lot of fun things. Shall we go have some fun? Yeah, come on. Whoa, cool. A dinosaur. Whoa. Whoa, cool. Yeah. Looks like a dinosaur. Hey, I heard about you. Are you Stanley? Whoa, nice to meet you, Stanley. I'm Blippy. I heard that you know a lot about the Family Fun Park here. Will you show me around? Yeah. Let's go. What a cool place, Stanley. Is this Rapter Reef? Cool. Yeah, this is where everyone comes to swim. Do you like Rapter Reef? Yeah, I bet you do. You seem to have a lot of fun here. Hey, I have a couple of questions for you. Yeah. Whoa. So are you a Velociraptor? Yeah. You are so cool. Do you love hanging out here? Yeah. Yeah? Well, I love hanging out here, too. It's so cool and it's so colorful. Hey, I have an idea. Will you dance with me? Yeah, here we go. Whoa, this is so cool. Good dancing. Well, I'm going to keep exploring. Maybe I'll see you later. If not, thank you so much.

[00:02:06]

All right, see you later. Check it out. Yeah, this is the wave pool. Yeah, there's some mechanical things back there that go up and down, up and down, and it makes them waves. Cool. What's this? Looks like a A bunch of random things. Looks like there's a shiny cup. A pale? Yeah, for making sand castles. Hello. Hey, it's me, Blippy. Cool. Look at this. A blue ball. One of my two favorite colors. Cool. It looks like there's a lot of other fun things in here. I have no idea why they're here, but pretty cool. Come on. Do you see those? Yeah, there's two raptors up there. It looks like they're playing. Should we go say hi? Come on. Whoa, look at this. Wow, it looks like the end of a water slide. Yeah, a yellow water slide. So cool. Whoa, look Look, the raptors. Whoa, raptors are so cool. Yeah, do you see their claws? Whoa, they're so sharp. Looks like they're playing. They're saying, Hey, do you want to play? The other one's like, Yeah. Whoa, and check out the feet right here. Do you see the big big feet? Do you see the big feet?

[00:03:58]

Do you see the big feet? Do you see the big feet? Do you see the big feet? Do you see the big feet? Yeah, come check it out. Whoa, cool. All right. Hey, I have an idea. Since we're at a pool and we saw all those items earlier, remember all those random items? Yeah. Why don't we play sink or float? Yeah, this is going to be fun. Let's go. Yeah. This is going to be so much fun. But first, did you see how I was walking? Yeah. Anytime you're next to a pool, you always want to walk. You never run. All right, now it's time for sink or float. Yeah. All right. Well, let's do the blue ball first. I bet you and I know what this is going to do. Yeah, it's really light. All right, here we go. Yeah, it floats. All right. What about this pink pan? It's like I'm making some eggs for breakfast. All right, see you later, pan. Oh, yeah, it floats as well. All right, let's see. Whoa, cool. Look, a rhinoceros. Whoa, rhinoceros is so cool. Yeah, do you see that? It's like a horn on its nose.

[00:05:20]

All right, rhinoceros. Let's see if it sinks or floats. Wee. That floats as well. All right, let's see here. Hey, look, a little spoon. Yeah, a spoon is a utensil. Then you can eat your food with utensil and not your hands. Sink or float. Bye-bye. Yeah, it sinks. That was our first item that sinks. All right, let's see here. So many cool items. Whoa, look at this. I could have used this with that skillet. Yeah, that pan? Yeah, because this is a spatula. Then I could have grabbed the eggs and put it on a plate. But it's really heavy. I bet I know what this is going to do. Yeah, that also sinks. All right, let's see here. All right, check these out. These look like bath toys. Yeah, an orange one looks like an octopus. And it looks like a sea turtle. Wow. Octupuses and sea turtles live in the ocean. All right, see you later, sea turtle. Yeah, it floats. And I bet you this is going to do the same because it's a bath toy. It floats as well. All right, let's see here. Whoa. Another animal. Yeah, do you know what this is?

[00:07:10]

Yeah, this is a Cheetah. Wow. Do you see how it's running? Yeah, Cheetahs are super duper fast. Whoa. Cheetahs can run about 70 miles an hour. Now, that is fast. That's as fast as you drive on a freeway. All right, let's see you, Cheetah, go in the water super fast. That Cheetah toy floats. Yeah, some beach toys. Wow. Have you ever been to the beach? Yeah, it's so fun just putting your feet in the sand, hearing the waves. Wow. Yeah, and seeing the surfers. Cool. Yeah, these are beach toys because you could put sand in here and then make sand castles out of them. All right, here we go. Sink or float. Yeah. All All those toys float. All right, what else do we have in here? Oh, cool. Yeah. Tennis balls. Looks like we have a green, blue, and orange tennis Well, should we see if they sink or float? Yeah. But first, yeah. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Oh, yeah. Those tennis balls float. Hey. All right. Let's see. Stanley? Is this Stanley? Oh, hello, Stanley. Yeah, looks like a Stanley Stanley toy. All right. Stanley is a velociraptor, as you know. Yeah, he's a very fierce dinosaur, but he's also very nice.

[00:09:08]

All right, Stanley, we're going to see if you sink or float. Yeah. Stanley. Stanley floats. Looks like we have a few things left. So shall I throw it all in? Yeah. Can't forget this and this. All right. Three, two, One. Yeah. Wow. That was so much fun seeing what items sink and what items float. I sure do love having fun with you and learning with you. Well, this is the end of this video. But if you want to watch more of my videos, all you have to do is search for my name. Will you spell my name with me? Yeah. Yeah. B-l-i-p-p-i. Blippy. Good job. All right. See you later. Bye-bye. Just kidding. Hey, it's me, Blippy, and today I'm at MOXI in Santa Barbara, California. Yeah, it's a really cool children's museum of exploration and Innovation. So today, you and I are going to learn a lot about science. Yeah, Maybe some stuff like hearing? Yeah. Sound? Whoa. And speed? Whoa, slow, fast. This is going to be so much fun. Come on. What are you doing? Come on. Come here. Come on. Hello. Whoa, check it out. This is a massive guitar. Whoa.

[00:10:57]

Cool. Yeah. Have you ever seen someone play a guitar before? Yeah. Yeah. Guitars are so cool. When you strum the strings, make some noise. Hey, let's listen. All right. Here we go. Tighten this up. A little out of tune, but it still sounds really cool. All right, now let me move this up, and when I move it up, it'll tighten the strings. Whoa, whoa, whoa, which effectively makes it tighter and shorter. And now I'll listen to how it sounds. Whoa, higher pitch. Cool. Let's keep exploring. Whoa, what's this? Whoa, another guitar right here. One more string. Pretty low. But watch this. I'll put my foot right here to tighten it out. Now listen. Whoa, that sounds a lot better. And watch this. Whoa, I spin this drum and check out the streams. You can actually see wavelengths, basically. Did you see that? Check it out a little closer. Cool. Hey, who are you? Hi, I'm Simon. Oh, nice to meet you, Simon. I'm Blippy. What are you doing here? Well, this is our sound machine. Sound machine doesn't look like a sound machine. It looks like a table. Well, I got these special little squares with some shapes on them that make some sound for you.

[00:12:58]

Whoa, that sounds like It's a guitar. I just played the guitar over there. I wonder what this does. Whoa, every single shape has a different instrument. Now, Simon and I just made a really cool song. All right, let's see. I think we should have a dance party. Are you up for it? Sure.

[00:13:26]

Come on, let's go. This is the Innovation Workshop.

[00:13:41]

Innovation means when you take something old and you make it new or you make it way better. This is going to be so much fun. I wonder what we're going to make. Let's go. Cool. The Innovation Workshop. Wow, look at this place. This is fun. Whoa, it looks like a car. Whoa, cool. Oh, look right here. Looks like some compact disks. Cds. Yeah. Back in the old days, people used to use these to play music and movies. All right. Oh, some bubble wrap. Listen to this. Whoa, what else do we What do we have here? Rubber bands. I like rubber bands. Hope we get to make a craft with some rubber bands. All right, there we go. Whoa, there's someone right over there. Hey, who are you? Hi, I'm Kevin. Oh, nice to meet you, Kevin. I'm Blippy. What do you do here?

[00:14:51]

Well, I build stuff in the Innovation Workshop.

[00:14:53]

Wow, cool. Well, I'm very excited. What are we going to build today?

[00:14:58]

Today, we're building a rubber band powerpowered car.

[00:15:00]

Whoa, cool. Can I check it out? Definitely. A rubber band powered car. Yeah, rubber bands in a car. So this gets propelled by the power of a rubber band? Exactly. Cool. How do you do it?

[00:15:16]

So you want to see it go first? Oh, yeah. Let's do that. All right. So first you pull the rubber band back. Okay. And then I'm going to twist the wheel three times. Ready? Yeah.

[00:15:25]

One, two, three.

[00:15:27]

And then we let it go.

[00:15:30]

Whoa, that was really cool.

[00:15:32]

Pretty cool, right? All right.

[00:15:34]

I am very excited. Let's do this.

[00:15:37]

First step is to build the body of our car. Okay. We're going to make a little triangle out of these wooden sticks. Okay. By putting a brass Brad through the hole.

[00:15:46]

Okay, there we go. Make a triangle. Look at that.

[00:15:49]

Looks like a triangle. Perfect. We have a body of our car like this one.

[00:15:52]

Okay, that makes sense.

[00:15:54]

Now, we've got to make something to hold our wheels. The wheels are held by an axel. Oh, yeah.

[00:15:59]

Just like normal cars and trucks on the road, they have a piece of metal that goes from one wheel to the other to hold them to the body of the car. Exactly.

[00:16:09]

We're going to use a straw to hold our axel to the body of our car. Oh, cool. We've got some straws and then a wooden stick. We're going to use hot glue to attach it now.

[00:16:18]

Okay. All right.

[00:16:19]

Before we use hot glue, we got to put on our heat resistant gloves so we don't hurt our fingers. Okay. Wow.

[00:16:25]

Safety first. Hot glue is definitely Something that only grownups should use because this is very, very hot. That's why we're wearing these gloves.

[00:16:37]

Yeah, even grownups have to be careful.

[00:16:40]

Yeah, exactly.

[00:16:41]

Okay. Now we're going to put our wheels on the back here.

[00:16:46]

Okay.

[00:16:48]

Let's put the big wheels on the back so it goes really fast. Oh, yeah. To get through the hole there.

[00:16:53]

Okay, so you put a piece of wood between these? Right. Okay, here we go. Perfect. Wow. Nice. All right. Here's one wheel and tire. Here we go. Then, this looks really good.

[00:17:09]

Looks like half a car.

[00:17:11]

Yeah, it does. Whoa, cool.

[00:17:16]

Wow. And same thing. All right. For the front, we're going to put the axel through.

[00:17:22]

Okay. Put it through.

[00:17:25]

And for the front, we've got little wheels to put on.

[00:17:29]

Okay. That makes sense. Big wheels in the back for more traction, and then little wheels in the front for great steering. Whoa, now it definitely looks like a car. Look at this.

[00:17:44]

We're just missing the last piece, which is our rubber band to make it go. All right. To wrap the rubber band around, we need a little piece of wood on our back axel. All right. It looks good.

[00:17:59]

Now, are we ready?

[00:18:00]

We're ready to add our rubber band. All right. This has to dry for a little bit, so when we wait for that to dry, we'll add our rubber band. All right.

[00:18:07]

Let's wait for it to dry. All right. I think it's about dry, right?

[00:18:14]

Yep, mine's dry.

[00:18:15]

Perfect. All right. Well, how do we do the rubber band?

[00:18:18]

Let's add our rubber band. We're going to attach to the front of our car. Okay. Putting it around that brass brad, the shiny thing.

[00:18:26]

Yeah, there we go.

[00:18:28]

Is yours attached like that?

[00:18:29]

Yeah, it is.

[00:18:31]

Now we do that last step or we wrap it around the back.

[00:18:35]

Okay. I do remember three rotations. That's right. Ready? One, two, three. All right. Mine is ready. Are you ready to race? I'm ready to race.

[00:18:50]

All right. Almost.

[00:18:52]

Ready? And on your marks. Uh-oh. Get set. Go. All right, let's try that All right, here I go. Three, two, one, go. Sometimes we have to embrace our failure.

[00:19:08]

Exactly.

[00:19:08]

It didn't work today. Yeah. So maybe if we sit here for a while and then we figure out what went wrong, then we can improve on it, and then they will go super fast like this one.Let's try that one again.Let's.

[00:19:21]

Try it again. That one part.

[00:19:23]

Look at this one. Wow. This is still a rubber-band-powered car?

[00:19:29]

That's still a rubber A rubber-band-powered car. It works the same way.

[00:19:31]

All right, I'll try this one. Okay, ready? Yep. 3, 2, 1, go. That has worked. Good job. Nice race. Thank you so much for teaching us how to make a rubber-band-powered car. Thanks for building with me. All right, I'm going to keep exploring. See you later. Have fun. Bye-bye. Whoa, look at this. Did you see this car? Wow, it looks so fast. Yeah, it has wheels and tires, and it has a green front, a blue middle. Yeah, and then a yellow back. Whoa, look in here. Looks like a lot of parts of cars. Hey, why don't we make a car? Whoa, all right. Looks like we have a lot of parts to choose from. All right, let's see. We have some black wheels and tires. And some green wheels and tires. Okay, so let's pick a body. Whoa, look, we have some long bodies. We have some short bodies. I think, yeah, right here. Yeah, and that one had a short body. So let's pick a long body. And look, my two favorite colors. I I wish I could just use both, but I need to pick one. Let's pick orange. Okay. And then we need a front and a back.

[00:21:09]

Let's see here. Why don't I use a blue front? Yeah. Oh, and we can use a blue back. There we go. Doesn't that look good? Yeah. All right, now we need to pick our wheels and tires. We have the green big ones and the black small ones. Now we have two black wheels and tires and two green wheels and tires. All right, let's compare these two. All right, so the one we made is definitely longer. It also has green wheels and tires while this one doesn't. Hey, look. Looks like there's a scale. All right, we can weigh them and see what one's heavier. All right, this one says 1 pound Three ounces. All right, let's see what this one says. One pound, five ounces. So that means this one is heavier. Wow. I wish there's a place where we could race them at. Whoa, look. Wow, a racetrack. Whoa. Then look at these. You can raise and lower the track. Come check it out. Wow. See, See this? Wow, that looks pretty good. All right, maybe we can race them and see which one's faster. Okay, here you go. On your marks. There you go.

[00:22:45]

There you go. All right, here we go. They're going to the top, so then Gravity will pull them down. I wonder who's going to win. There they go. Three, two, one. Go. We did such a great job building the faster car. Yeah, faster, slower. That's speed. So cool. Yeah. Now we're on the roof of the museum. Whoa, look at this. Looks like a lot of black pipes. Nothing inside. Hey, what are these doing here? Looks like the on the bottom of some shoes. We have orange, we have green, we have blue, and we have purple. Hey, I have an idea. Not really doing anything. Did you hear that? Yeah, look down here. Kind of sounds like musical instruments. Yeah, when I hit these sandal or parts of a shoe on this pipe, it then pushes air out here. And dependent on the height of the tubes, it makes different sounds. All right, let's hear it again. Yeah. Hey, I have a great idea. Let's hit that bass line and let's make some music with these tubes.

[00:24:37]

Wasn't that so much fun?

[00:24:53]

Yeah, I love science. It was so much fun learning about sounds with you. Did you hear that? Yeah. And I sure do love dancing. Yeah. You got some pretty great dance skills yourself. You can't forget about the cars. Yeah. Well, this is the end of this video. But if you want to watch more of my videos, all you have to do is search for my name. Will you spell my name with me? Yeah. B-l-i-p-p-i. Flippy. Good job. See you soon. Bye.

[00:25:39]

See you.

[00:25:43]

Whoa. Oh, hey, it's me, Blippy. And look at where I'm at. Yeah, I am at Valley Auto in Tinnino, Washington. This is where they work on vehicles. Whoa, do you see that truck up there? Whoa, it's so high up there. That's crazy. Whoa, so many cool machines in here. Come on. Whoa, look at this big truck. Do you see how it's on the ground? Yeah, they're on the ground, but then they use these big things called lifts to go underneath and lift it up to the sky. So then the mechanics can work underneath the truck and car, so then they don't have to bend down or be uncomfortable. That's pretty cool. Oh, look at this. Whoa, this is so heavy. Wow. This is a battery. Yeah, most vehicles have batteries, so then it helps them turn on. Yeah. Bland also turn on the radio. And things like that. Yeah, batteries have electricity stored inside. Oh, look at these. These These are hose clamps. Whoa, there's a small one, and here is a big one. These are what goes around hoses and clamps them nice and tight. Hey, what shape are these? Yeah, these are circles.

[00:27:18]

Pretty cool, huh? All right, let's put those back. Let's keep exploring. Whoa, look at all of these. Do you see these? Wow. This right here, yeah, is a nut, washer, and a bolt. This is what you use to tighten things. Yeah, nice and close together. Like, say, If there's a piece of metal right here and another piece of metal, you could tighten it nice and tight so then it doesn't slip and slide. All right, let's put that back. Okay. So cool. Whoa. This is a massive engine. That looks so powerful. Wow. So cool. Well, hey, let's see. Oh, look at this. Remember earlier how I said that the lift lifts up the truck so the mechanic can stand up nice and tall? Well, sometimes you might not have a lift, and you need to get really low on the ground and work on the vehicle from the ground. Hey. Look at me go. I'm a mechanic. Yeah, you can slide because it has wheels. Okay. All right. Enough playing around. Let's get to work. Hey, it's someone else. Who are you? Colton. Oh, nice Good to meet you, Colton. Well, what are you doing over there?

[00:29:03]

Getting ready to weld.

[00:29:05]

Oh, weld? That's really cool. Hey, do you know what welding is? Yeah, welding is where you take two pieces of metal and apply some electricity, heat, some gas, and it becomes so hot. They become connected. Yeah, it's like glue, but for metal. Well, cool. Will you show us how to do it? Yeah, I just need to lift up the truck.

[00:29:28]

All right, let's check Wow.

[00:30:00]

Do you see what they're doing? Yeah, they're using those metal posts to go under the truck, so then they can work underneath it safely so it doesn't fall on them. Okay, let's watch them weld.

[00:30:29]

Looks like he has some safety gear.

[00:30:36]

Check it out. See these? Yeah, these are his gloves. It keeps his hands protected while he's welding. And this looks like his helmet. Yeah, and it has this really dark shade right here. So then he can look at what he's doing because it's too bright to look at without this. You definitely never want to look at what you're doing welding unless you have this. If you ever see someone welding, do not look at that light, okay? Okay. Oh, here you go.

[00:31:44]

Did you see that? Wow. Colton did such a great job welding. Hey, Colton, thank you so much for showing us how to weld. Yeah, no problem. Yeah. All right, Let's keep exploring. Let's go. This has been so much fun. Did you see when he was welding? It looked like fireworks. Yeah, that was awesome. Look at this yellow toolbox. I think we should open it up and see what tools are inside. Whoa, look at these socket sets. Wow, that is so nicely organized. Whoa. Remember earlier? Yeah, we were talking about those nuts? Yeah, these sockets go over the nuts. And then you use a lever and then turn it. And then you get it nice and tight. Yeah, that is really cool. Let's see what else is in here. I love tools. They're so much fun. Whoa, look. Yeah, a wrench. Yeah, you can also use these to tighten nuts. That is so cool. All right, let's put it away. What else is in here? Yeah, a Crescent wrench. Whoa, we must have a customer. Someone else will get that. But hey, check it out. A Crescent wrench. It looks like a mouth. Hello. Hello. That's silly.

[00:33:35]

Okay. Well, oh, look at this. You know what this is? Yeah, it looks like a hammer, doesn't it? Yeah, but it's actually a rubber mallet. Watch this. Yeah, you can hit things with it. Yeah. You like a tire. Watch this. I don't know what you would do that for, but it's fun. A vice right here? Yeah, you can put things in here. Turn this and see it closing? Yeah. Keeps things held right here so then you can work on it. Look. Yeah. Looks like a fan. It looks like a fan. Yeah. This looks like a a van that goes in front of the radiator. Well, I sure do love mechanic shots and tools. Hey, I think this is the perfect time for the Tool Song. Yeah.

[00:34:41]

When you're working with tools, working with tools, you hear all kinds of things. When you're working with tools, working with tools, you hear all kinds of things. The wrench tightens pipes going When you're working with tools, you hear all kinds of things. You hear bangs and booms, clangs and zings. When you're working with tools, you hear all kinds of things. Cutting wires with some pliers going, snip, snip. Cutting paper with some scissors going, clip, clip. When you're working with tools, you've got to be real safe by wearing gloves on your hands and goggles on your face. And boys and girls, when you're working with tools, always follow Mom and dad's safety rules. When you're working with tools, working with tools, you hear all kinds of things. When you're working with tools, working with tools, you hear all kinds of things. You hear thuds and tweaks, cracks and rings. When When you're working with tools, you hear all kinds of things. You hear bangs and booms, klangs and zings. When you're working with tools, you hear all kinds of things.

[00:36:42]

Check it out.

[00:36:45]

Yeah, it looks like we have some big bolts. And we have some big nuts. Hey, what's this doing here? Do you know what this is? Yeah, it's a steering wheel. Ten and two. Driving a car is so much fun. You'll get there. And you need to be very safe and always wear your seat belt. But hey, in order to drive your car, you need to maintain your vehicle. Yeah, and that is why we're at the mechanic shop. But hey, check these out. Whoa, this is the cylinder head. Whoa, there's so many parts to an engine, and this is just one of them. Over here, this is the exhaust manifold. Yeah, like I said, there's a lot of parts to an engine. But this is where the engine is, and then the exhaust goes through all these pipes to the back of the vehicle. Yeah, and you've probably seen exhaust pipes before. Yeah. Well, hey, I have one last thing to show you right over here. The best part about mechanic shops is cleaning up at the end of the day and all your hard work pays off. Well, this has been so much fun learning about tools with you today and welding and what it's like to be in a shop.

[00:38:21]

Well, this is the end of this video. But if you want to watch more of my videos, all you have to do is search for my name. Will you spell my name with me? B-l-i-p-p-i. Flippy. Good job. All right. See you again. Bye-bye. Whee.

[00:38:41]

Come on, everyone.

[00:38:45]

Let's make learning fun.

[00:38:47]

Blippy, Blippy.

[00:38:50]

So much to learn about. It'll make you want to shout.

[00:38:54]

Blippy.
