Good morning, millennials, and welcome back to.

[00:00:04]

The toast and happy Monday. That feels absolutely nothing like a Monday. Because Mondays are disgusting. Mondays are disgusting. Mondays are treacherous. Mondays are pretty much like the whore of Babylon. And we are not that. We are so lovely. And today is everything.

[00:00:20]

It's a different sort of Monday. I feel like in general, it feels like a Monday. You know, we're back from long weekend. We're doing. We're working.

[00:00:25]

We are.

[00:00:26]

But I would say it doesn't feel like work when you're doing something that you love with the person that you love. In studio Irl.

[00:00:32]

We're touching.

[00:00:33]

We're touching.

[00:00:34]

You never touch me. I'm like, kind of sweating.

[00:00:35]

It's a big occasion.

[00:00:37]

So we're in person. Yeah, that's right. We've talked about this week for like centuries. Jackie and I back together, toast HQ Florida edition. I'm at Jackie's house. If you're listening as a podcast, that changes nothing for you. If you're watching, which, like, hi, watch, watch. I put on makeup.

[00:00:54]

Let me ask you, like, does it feel different? Podcast?

[00:00:56]

I feel so weird. Like, I can't even look you in the eyes.

[00:00:59]

So used to remote that. Just like being in the same room. Now I'm like talking to someone in my room. And we're talking and we're filming ourselves. I feel like I'm twelve. Recording.

[00:01:07]

Not only that, my sister. Not only that, you're so close to me.

[00:01:11]

That's the thing about this studio.

[00:01:13]

It's close, you know? By the way, this is close quarters. I'm having trouble making eye contact. I feel funny. It's like, weird. Why are we talking like this? We talk, like regular.

[00:01:24]

We've been hanging out for days and now we're talking different. Yeah.

[00:01:27]

No, and we're, like, being performative.

[00:01:28]

And I also feel like when we're home and we FaceTime, our FaceTimes are very much like the show when it's just like we're recording, but this feels performative.

[00:01:37]

I'm glad you brought up kind of the elephant in the room. Like the weirdness us. And now you're screaming right here, the.

[00:01:48]

Elephant in the room, us.

[00:01:50]

It's like we're just like these two big girls in this little room on these little chairs, talking loud at each other. If you keep up with the ever changing esthetics of the toast, like, you might notice we have a new vase.

[00:02:01]

We have a new vase with new flowers.

[00:02:03]

With new flowers. And I'm kind of loving. Are these real, by the way? I thought they were real the whole time. They're so gorgeous. Oh, my God.

[00:02:11]

Thank you so much. As I told you, I put together a little beautification community committee for her home, of my home. And I just got some vases, planters, flowers. I got a lot of fake flowers. One for the outside. I don't need real. Two, Zach Shapiro is allergic to. So, like, he won't have a pleasant time in my house if I have real flowers.

[00:02:29]

And this is a set I fully respect and understand. I actually prefer the fake flowers. You know, the budget that we would need to keep up real flowers for our centerpiece every day.

[00:02:38]

Yeah. No, it wouldn't happen. So I'm so glad they're having a moment. A moment. And that they're going to be famous now. I got this pot from, I think this one's William Sonoma or pottery barn. I did a big order from both. Really beautiful things.

[00:02:53]

The beautification committee has a big budget.

[00:02:56]

Beautification committee said throw money at the problem.

[00:02:58]

Yeah.

[00:02:59]

And the beautification committee said we could have got this on Amazon maybe for sure. But that's a lesson you need to learn. The expensive way.

[00:03:06]

I actually also put together a beautification committee, but, like, for myself.

[00:03:09]

But then I just want to say every time I'm like, you know what? I'm going to get it on Amazon, I can crap. Should have spent the money. Just, you know what? Nothing's ever good enough. That's the lesson.

[00:03:19]

So true. I, too, put together a beautification committee. Not for my home, for my face. Okay. I felt like recently, I think in the last couple of months, I've really started to prioritize being beautiful and the funds that are required of that, like my lip flip spray tan lash lip. I've really been just sort of throwing money at that problem. And let me tell you, a beautification of the face is there's nothing money can't solve.

[00:03:41]

So can you tell us about your lip flip? Because you never updated us.

[00:03:44]

I didn't because was so subtle and I don't know.

[00:03:46]

Did you do anything to your bottom lip?

[00:03:48]

No. Why?

[00:03:48]

It looked supple this morning. Oh.

[00:03:51]

Did you kind of just want to suck on it? No. Are you sure?

[00:03:54]

When you were doing your lip liner, I said, that's a big bottom lip for a girl who used to not have lips.

[00:03:59]

Okay. No, I did nothing to my bottom lip.

[00:04:01]

You got a nice lip.

[00:04:03]

The beautification committee thanks you.

[00:04:06]

The top lip just like, gave some to the bottom.

[00:04:09]

Or maybe it's just like contrast or it's like rising tides.

[00:04:13]

Rachel shy.

[00:04:13]

Right?

[00:04:14]

One lip stepped its pussy up.

[00:04:19]

One lip stepped its pussy lip up. So the bottom lip followed suit. Right. Love that. No, I didn't do anything to my bottom lip. I did a little lip flip, which just lose, like, a little bit of botox. It's, like, not considered a lip flip. I'm not going to.

[00:04:30]

Not at all. When you describe it, a lip flip is like.

[00:04:35]

No, but a lip flip, like, the procedure is putting botox above your lip.

[00:04:39]

Okay.

[00:04:39]

And it's a way for people who have really, really thin lips not to get, like, a big duck lip, but for their lip to basically turn itself inside out. Yeah.

[00:04:46]

So that your gums become part of your lip. Like, your inner lip becomes part of your.

[00:04:49]

Exactly. Like, it's kind of like using what you have. I love.

[00:04:52]

It's like working with what you've got.

[00:04:54]

Pulling up your bootstraps and just, like, making it work. So Dr. Geezy thought that my smile might relax a little bit if I just put a little bit of Botox under my nostril. And lo and behold, it has. Look at my smile now. Now it's been, like, weeks. So we're fully settled.

[00:05:08]

I can't judge it. One, because I think you have a beautiful smile, no matter the weather, and two, I need to see it in pictures because that's the only time that crazy Ramona eyes would come out.

[00:05:23]

Yeah. No, I had, like, a crazy Ramona smile, and it was fun. It was like being the crazy girl, but the beautification committee was like, calm down.

[00:05:32]

Understood.

[00:05:33]

So today is Monday, which is like, whatever, but it's the Monday after the Super Bowl. Jax and I watched the Super bowl last night all together as a family. We ate, we laughed, we sang, we danced. We have thoughts, and I do want to say, like, kind of a precursor to everything that I'm going to say. Of course. Bang, bang, niners gang. Like, oh, you already forgot how quick she forgets. It was a tough loss.

[00:05:54]

Honestly, it was a tough loss. And I remember we said last week, after the debt lost, or two weeks ago, we're like, you guys, it's a game. We have to remember. It's a game. And I feel that way. It is a game. Everyone's okay. But when they lost, my heart broke a little bit.

[00:06:06]

Of course.

[00:06:06]

Was so sad seeing those sad faces contrasted with confetti falling on them. And it's not their confetti. I was extremely sad and emotional. I had feelings about it.

[00:06:17]

No, it was super, super sad. And we're going to cover this entire episode is basically the Super bowl, all.

[00:06:22]

The different facets of it. One, nothing else really happened. And two, even if it did, everyone's.

[00:06:27]

Talking about the Super bowl. But the precursor I wanted to give because I hate to come on a show and be so negative. I know it's, like, funny and whatever, and I just want you to know I have a lot of thoughts, and most of them are negative about certain performances, certain commercials. I'm going to rip things to shreds. And I want to say I hate being that person. And it's not me just trying to be negative. Those are my actual thoughts. And overall, I found the entire evening, and I'm not just saying this because my team lost. I'm looking at it through. I'm a media critic and I'm criticizing the media, and I felt like the whole thing was bad.

[00:06:59]

The whole evening was bad. I wanted so badly to like everything. I'm in my liking things era because as long as something is good, that means that it's great, because it wasn't bad. That's where I'm at right now. And I really, really wanted to like things. We've been so excited about the Super bowl. Do we talk about anything else?

[00:07:15]

No. When I tell you the fact that it wasn't until 630, I was, like, itching. I'm like, let's go. I was so excited. So I'm not looking to hate. I just happened to naturally hate it.

[00:07:25]

Because things were not good. So I agree. It brings me no joy, zero, to have negative thoughts today because it was so fun to enjoy the Grammys, to just really enjoy something and have really mostly positive things to say about it. And isn't that nice?

[00:07:38]

I was thinking of what it contrasts, like last week when we got on the show on Monday and we were just, like, oozing with joy and positivity and positive accolades for the Grammys, which was so shocking. And it was so fun to be positive for once.

[00:07:49]

Who would have thought that we'd be positive about the Grammys and maybe potentially negative about the Super bowl now as a whole?

[00:07:55]

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love being a part of something. I love when the whole nation is watching one thing. But I've lived through a lot of Super Bowls. I know when shit is good. And I felt like I have a lot to critique today, and that's what I'm going to do. And I just wanted to let everyone know it brings me no joy.

[00:08:09]

I agree. I think we should get into it. Because all five stories will be a different facet of the big game. And beyond that, that's really what we're here to do today. So I think we can jump right in.

[00:08:21]

We can. And I'm excited because our lead sponsor today had an amazing commercial.

[00:08:25]

Great. So without further ado, here are the fast five Super bowl stories that you need to know.

[00:11:31]

I'm not done. Today's episode is also brought to you by McDonald's so toasters know we are wholeheartedly obsessed in love with McDonald's. I feel we'll be taking a trip to McDonald's while I'm down here.

[00:11:43]

I think it's in our near future.

[00:11:44]

There's really nothing better for me. There's nothing better than a long night getting out of your shapewear, ordering McDonald's sitting in your cozy's. Just eat. To me, that is femininity. It's beautification.

[00:11:59]

Beautification.

[00:12:00]

And that's why we're so excited to partner with McDonald's to talk about their classic burgers, which are hotter, juicier and tastier than ever before. So much so that the hamburglar is on the loose, giving nostalgia. We have nothing but respect and empathy for the hamburglar because how could you blame someone for trying to get themselves like a Big Mac? There's a lot I would not do for McDonald's and the hamburglar understands that. So McDonald's patties are cooked to juicy, juicy perfection. And the cheese is perfectly melted. Pillowy, soft golden bun. I'm starving. And a Big Mac that now has more special sauce in every bite. So try McDonald's. Best burgers ever at a McDonald's near you. Their classic burgers are better and bigger than ever before. So try McDonald's. Best burgers ever at McDonald's near you.

[00:12:45]

Which we're going to McDonald's after this. I think we have to move up our trip.

[00:12:48]

Yeah, no, we had plans today.

[00:12:52]

They influenced us.

[00:12:53]

Yeah, totally.

[00:12:54]

They're influencing the influencers and we're constantly influencing ourselves. Yeah, it's a new term.

[00:13:00]

Love it.

[00:13:01]

Okay, let's get into the game and the stories. Number one, let's talk about the football. Yeah. Let's just talk about the facts of what happened. Chiefs versus niners. Patrick Mahomes versus sprock turdy. If you've been listening to the toast, you know the board. You know Patrick Mahomes, one of the greatest quarterbacks, if not the greatest, on the.

[00:13:20]

On his way to becoming like a Tom Brady.

[00:13:22]

Right. But Tom Brady's not playing right now. So Patrick Mahomes is the greatest on the field these days.

[00:13:25]

Yes, for sure.

[00:13:26]

And co. Versus the 49 ers, Brock Purdy, Mr. Irrelevant. Apparently he's called because the last person he's drafted is called Mr. Irrelevant. Like rude.

[00:13:36]

Yeah, no, I learned that yesterday too. We were watching the pregame and I knew that Brock Turdy was the last person picked for the draft, which is so sad. I didn't know that. The NFL has like this tradition where the very last person picked in the draft gets a jersey and like the title of Mr. Irrelevant, which is so mean.

[00:13:51]

Like harmful. Yeah. No, no.

[00:13:53]

And by the way, the NFL then had the nerve to do these anti bullying campaigns with different players reading, cyberbullying threats that were sent to other kids. Like, okay, great. But you're literally bullying I don't like that. And maybe it's because I'm really defensive of Brock, but I don't like it. No.

[00:14:08]

And don't forget, on the field they're fighting and tackling and even when they're not playing, they're still pushing each other and piling on and grabbing at each other.

[00:14:16]

So the Chiefs won. And I have to say, of course I would have preferred that my team won.

[00:14:23]

Yeah. But I feel like we can find joy in both team wins. So it's not like I felt so.

[00:14:28]

No, but I feel that, of course I would have preferred my team to win, but I can't even be mad at my team. They played so good, so much so that by the end of the game they had to keep playing overtime.

[00:14:39]

I can't even be mad at my.

[00:14:40]

Team, I want to say, because I've been very, very hard on him. Brock Purdy had a near perfect game, and on top of being, like a rookie who's 24, who's like, never been in the Super bowl, he was so amazing.

[00:14:53]

They had everything to be proud of.

[00:14:55]

I can't even be mad. I really can't.

[00:14:57]

And everybody played so well.

[00:14:59]

And it wasn't just like the regular people who always get the catches. It was like a real team effort Jennings I didn't even know who that, like, everybody did. I'm so proud of my team. I really was. I can't even.

[00:15:09]

Just as good as the Chiefs agreed, except for one play. They were one play worse than the Chiefs.

[00:15:16]

And by the way, that's what you want with a Super bowl. It's supposed to be the two best teams in the league, like, fighting it out. I'm like, these teams were really equally matched? Yes. The Kansas City Chiefs won. I wouldn't say that they're a better team.

[00:15:26]

Not markedly better.

[00:15:28]

They have a better quarterback, but I think, like, team for taking it at a glance. These are two amazing teams. And you know what? I was so proud of my team. I really was, to come this far.

[00:15:38]

To not get it again after 2020. They did play the chief chiefs, and now they have to put in all this work again to get to the summit once again. It's sad. It's a sad way to go out, but someone's got to win. Someone's got to lose. Now the Chiefs, this is their third win in five years. This is two years in a row. They're saying the big D word. It's a.

[00:16:04]

That's great.

[00:16:05]

It's great.

[00:16:06]

It's nice. It's nice. It's really nice.

[00:16:07]

Yeah. The good players, they were still good. It's just obvious. It's just giving obvious. But 49 ers, they had a real story.

[00:16:17]

So true.

[00:16:18]

Up by their bootstraps. Not the greatest quarterback, but he's got heart.

[00:16:22]

No, he's got the spirit of Jesus.

[00:16:24]

In him, and he's working hard. He's playing his hardest. I feel like Patrick momes. He doesn't have to try so hard. No, he doesn't. There's always people like that. There are people who are just naturally gifted, and there are people who have to try, try.

[00:16:35]

Oh, my gosh.

[00:16:36]

And all I do is try, try.

[00:16:38]

It's so true, Jackie.

[00:16:40]

And I respect Brock. I respect the hustle.

[00:16:43]

No, he was so amazing, and he looked so confident. And I'm sure he was freaking, like, first of all, he's 24, but he.

[00:16:50]

Also looked awe stricken in a good way. It is a major moment. Take it all in. I feel like some people, this isn't a shade toward anyone. I'm not even thinking of anyone specifically. But you get sort of jaded when you're, oh, another Super bowl.

[00:17:04]

It's like you're just, like, acclimated to this sort of lifestyle. So somebody coming in, so fresh, wide eyed, bushy tail.

[00:17:10]

You see it through Brock's eyes like a child.

[00:17:13]

You see it through Brock's eyes like a child. Yes. I was so proud of him. And I just, like, I want to say he was so amazing, and I know he lost it, but I hope he's so proud of himself. He was incredible.

[00:17:24]

Yeah. I feel like amongst the hardest parts is, like, you don't get to go out that night. And the difference in your night after that game, even though they played the exact same game. I'm sorry.

[00:17:35]

Just one play different.

[00:17:36]

They kept going, I'll do this.

[00:17:38]

You did that different task.

[00:17:39]

I did that. I square here, you square there. I miss here, you miss there.

[00:17:42]

Nobody did anything, like, original or creative.

[00:17:43]

They did the same exact things. Except one, people are about to have the best nights of their lives, and the other is about to be sad.

[00:17:49]

Crying. Yeah. No, it's not right. Another moment that a lot of people are talking about that I wanted to bring up was this sort of heated moment between Travis, Kelsey, Andy Reid. It was televised, so the clip went viral. Essentially, what had happened was on the field, the 49 ers. No, actually, I'm sorry. The Kansas City Chiefs turned over the ball. It was like a bad moment for them. They had the ball, fucked it up, dropped it. Other team got it. Travis was not on the field in that moment. And I guess he was mad that he wasn't thinking that if he was on the field, maybe they wouldn't have turned it over. And he went over Andy Reid and sort of, like, shoved him and yelled at him in his face. And the clip, if you slow it down, it's like it's giving elder abuse.

[00:18:26]

No, it's abuse of an elder.

[00:18:28]

It's giving Zayn and know in the stairs it is.

[00:18:32]

And not only did he shove an older gentleman, which you should never do, but he also caught him unawares. It's not like Andy saw him coming, so he spooked him.

[00:18:43]

First of all, by the way, the spook is kind of the biggest crime.

[00:18:46]

It's a spooking in general. Even when my husband walks into my bathroom and he's not trying to spook me. Unforgivable.

[00:18:52]

Yeah. If he came in, spooked me and shoved me. Yeah. And I'm 80 and we're on tv, and I'm 80. Like, my heart can't possibly take that sort of kerfuffle.

[00:19:01]

It was not a good look for him.

[00:19:03]

It wasn't. And we'll get into football, whatever.

[00:19:08]

But I do, and I say, like I said when he threw that kid's equipment, I'm like, this is football. Like, man up. This man is not a player.

[00:19:14]

No, he's your elder.

[00:19:16]

He's a coach. He's your elder. You respect. Like, I'm sorry, it's not apples to apples.

[00:19:21]

No, it's not. But having said that, I do need the swifties to calm down. A lot of people saw that tweet and are worried for Taylor's safety. They said, well, if he does this while the cameras are on him, how does he treat Taylor when no one's looking? And I totally get wanting to protect your queen. You need to calm down. You seriously need to calm down. It's football.

[00:19:43]

Yeah, no, it's football, but it's also just football. Classic swifties.

[00:19:50]

Classic swifties. Looking too much into things. So let's leave it. Oh, my God.

[00:19:57]

Oh, is that my phone?

[00:19:58]

No, it's your computer.

[00:19:59]

I know, but I'll just put on do not disturb. I'm good. We're good. Oh, wow. I'm in trouble. We're on do not disturb anyway. No, you're not in trouble, as we usually are, for reporting you to HR. Usually on the show. We're on do not disturb because we're on the computer.

[00:20:12]

Right.

[00:20:12]

But now, because we're together, this was.

[00:20:15]

To be expected, like, first day back IRL. Like, who knows if this episode is even going to make it up.

[00:20:20]

Yeah, true.

[00:20:21]

Back to the game. Back to Travis being an elder abuser. Not a good look. It's not a good look. And also, it's the elder abuse, but it's also like. And I feel like a core tenet in sports is, like, your coaches, your leader. He is the figure of authority. Even if you disagree with him, you always respect your coach. It's like very Friday night. Lights, energy. Stakes are high. I get it.

[00:20:46]

Not cool.

[00:20:47]

Not cool, Travis. Not cool.

[00:20:48]

Yeah. And he didn't have, like, an exceptional evening on the field. No.

[00:20:52]

He was relatively quiet. He had a bunch of catches. No touchdowns.

[00:20:55]

Yeah, he played solid.

[00:20:56]

He played solid.

[00:20:56]

But there was a couple moments where he could have scored the game winning touchdown and he, uh. And he didn't. When the game winning touchdown was scored, it wasn't him. It wasn't like a trav evening. No, no.

[00:21:09]

It wasn't a patty Trav evening. No.

[00:21:12]

It was just like the Chiefs. Chiefs.

[00:21:14]

Which is good. Like, it is a team. Right?

[00:21:16]

Right. Yeah. I feel like everyone wanted that, but they got really, like, everything. I mean, by winning.

[00:21:22]

Yeah.

[00:21:23]

Any other football to discuss the actual game. It was a good game. It went on forever. What's crazy about these new rules is that the game could literally never end. This is a game that never ends. It just goes on. And none, my friends, I will say.

[00:21:39]

Like, in terms of me critiquing the evening, it was pretty boring until the. And these are two teams who are known for doing crazy, amazing touchdowns and catches and one handed. There was, like, none of that. There was no glitzing up until overtime and stuff. It was really boring until the fourth.

[00:21:55]

Quarter, when it was still tied. But that's like classic football. Like, nothing matters until the fourth quarter. And Ben cooked up. We didn't even talk about our experience.

[00:22:04]

Yeah.

[00:22:04]

Ben cooked up an amazing feast for us.

[00:22:06]

We had spinach, artichoke dip, chicken tenders, buffalo nuggets. We had also ordered pizza.

[00:22:13]

Hamburgers and hot dogs.

[00:22:14]

Hamburgers and hot dogs. And then Ben had also started the prep for crunchwrap supremes. But we were like, sir, there was too much food because we also ordered the pizza.

[00:22:21]

So we're like, we'll have supreme for lunch.

[00:22:23]

Oh, love.

[00:22:24]

My kitchen was so dirty. Chernobyl.

[00:22:27]

So dirty.

[00:22:28]

And I just. I meant to say the respect I have for you. I never understood how Ben could be so messy as a cleaner. But I get it now because this is how a normal person cooks. They use as few pans as they can. They keep reusing the same pan, of course, and they wash the cooking tools as the bowls with the raw meats. And even though it's not all the dishes, it's, like, half of them. Your husband uses a different pan. I've never seen all of my cookware out.

[00:22:54]

No, I've literally been saying this for years.

[00:22:56]

I had to experience it myself.

[00:22:59]

He will not do one dish as he's cooking now. In his defense, we were, like, yelling at him because we were so hungry. We were like, move faster, move faster, butler.

[00:23:06]

Thing is, I have no complaints with him. He did what he had to do, and he got the job done. But I never saw all my cookware out like that.

[00:23:13]

Everything. No, he's insane.

[00:23:15]

So it took me about 45 minutes to clean my kitchen. So I missed a lot of football. And then I came and sat down in the middle of the fourth quarter. I didn't miss a thing. Yeah.

[00:23:23]

So, like, entertainment wise, I didn't find the game that stimulating.

[00:23:27]

Yeah. But it did have me having a feeling towards the end of anticipation and nervousness.

[00:23:32]

Yes.

[00:23:33]

I was feeling things.

[00:23:34]

Yeah. There just wasn't any amazing one handed, back flipped catches, which that's what the Super bowl is for.

[00:23:41]

Yeah.

[00:23:41]

So there was none of that. So it was a little boring.

[00:23:43]

Yeah. But then, because it was so close, that was the excitement of it.

[00:23:48]

Yes. I hate when it's so obvious one team's up by 20 points the whole time. Like, the other team's never going to win. That's boring, too.

[00:23:54]

No, but sometimes that team wins. That happens.

[00:23:56]

Well, that's amazing.

[00:23:57]

Yeah. There's all different versions anyways. Yeah. We got a kind of boring version. But the overtime made it titillating.

[00:24:03]

Yes. And this was the first Super bowl with overtime, with the new rules. And I've not always been into football, but the limited things I knew about football prior to becoming obsessed was that overtime really wasn't fair. Like, one team got the ball first, and then whoever scored the first touchdown, game over. So obviously, the team with the ball has a major advantage. I've always felt like it's really unfair. They recently changed the rules. Now each team gets a possession and they each get a chance to score, which is.

[00:24:25]

Here's the question we were asking last night. What happens when the clock ran out on the ten minutes?

[00:24:29]

I don't know.

[00:24:29]

The clock is irrelevant.

[00:24:30]

I don't know. It's a good question about the clock.

[00:24:32]

Clock. Irrelevant.

[00:24:33]

Clock. Objection. Relevance.

[00:24:35]

Clock.

[00:24:37]

Objection.

[00:24:37]

Clock. Relevance, question mark. That should be the new elf commercial. Judge. Beauty.

[00:24:42]

Beauty. That was cute.

[00:24:43]

That was cute.

[00:24:44]

Let's get into the commercials for the next story.

[00:24:45]

And that is our next story, the commercials.

[00:24:48]

So once again, we'll get into detailed. But I have an overarching thought, which was that none of them really stood out to me as crazy funny or moving or anything. And the general theme from brands was like, we're going to spend money on as many celebrities as we can. And I don't know if there ever, I think there was a time where that used to do it, for me, at least. I'm definitely, like a jaded media consumer. I'm not like a dumb person who's like, oh, this is amazing.

[00:25:15]

Ha.

[00:25:15]

My favorite celebrity likes this product. I like it too, literally. So I'm definitely harder to please. But it just felt like really overconsumption. It was not funny. It was so many celebrities where it was so tacky. And then I just kept looking at these celebrities almost as like, clowns. I was like, wow, all a brand has to do is pay you and you're going to act like an momoa.

[00:25:40]

Like, I would say, whatever you'll do. I feel that way about Ben Affleck now, Matt Damon, because they're like, well, Matt Damon, like a cesarean actor. And I don't feel that way only.

[00:25:49]

Because let me tell you that the brand partnership between Ben Affleck and Dunkin'donuts was organic. Yes, we know he loves donuts. Like, for me, I actually feel like he loves the product. But you could not pay. Like, Zach Braff has never used t mobile in his. Like, it was giving dancing. They spent all their time and energy on the celebrities that the creative, the.

[00:26:13]

Creative was not there.

[00:26:14]

It was not there.

[00:26:15]

No, it was not there.

[00:26:16]

And there were a few commercials that made me chuckle. And we'll talk about them.

[00:26:19]

Yeah, we'll go through a little list of commercials. But I also want to say, overarchingly, I thought the commercials were bad. I didn't think there were a lot of commercials. Every commercial was for another show. And CBS obviously played the game, so those were, like, empty spots because they would have sold them if they could. Everything was for CBS or a charitable organization, which I imagine is a.

[00:26:40]

We were wondering if these charities paid, then they didn't pay $7 million for.

[00:26:43]

Okay, so which one was the one where we were like, there's no way. This is like, it was a habitat for humanity.

[00:26:48]

No, it wasn't. Habitat for America, which is like food, shelter, food pantry, because I'm saying, like.

[00:26:52]

If you have $7 million to pay.

[00:26:53]

For an buy some food, you could.

[00:26:55]

Feed a lot of people.

[00:26:55]

Duh.

[00:26:56]

But then people were saying, no, this is probably donated.

[00:26:58]

They got a good rate.

[00:26:59]

They do that with extra spots. Like, they'll give it to charity, which makes. Makes a lot of sense to me. But there was a lot of that. I feel like there weren't a lot of ads for non cbs and non charity.

[00:27:10]

There weren't a lot of ads.

[00:27:11]

There weren't a lot of paying customers.

[00:27:13]

Now, I gave you a very special side table for your coffee, and you still insist on putting your coffee next to my beautiful centerpiece, Claude.

[00:27:18]

It's classic us.

[00:27:19]

Loki. It is. So, yeah, I just felt like the commercials, which are usually a favorite part, really lacked any sort of creativity. It was just like, how many celebrities can we get fit in one commercial? And it felt so stupid.

[00:27:34]

Yeah.

[00:27:34]

And I have a really hot take. I feel like this year, particularly the Super bowl, but the year in, like, Tom Brady has become, like, a big loser.

[00:27:46]

Well, Tom, he was in every commercial.

[00:27:51]

He doesn't need the money. It's giving. Like, thirsty loser. It's giving. I'm trying to think who he's becoming the equivalent of.

[00:28:00]

Just, like, a commercial puppet. Yeah.

[00:28:03]

And Peyton Manning is in a lot of commercials, like, nationwide. So is Shaq the general.

[00:28:07]

No, but he's giving. Yeah, yeah.

[00:28:10]

Something about Tom Brady. He was just in everything, and then I guess maybe he was all over Vegas, like, at the fanatics party. He's just giving, like, loser. He's not acting like the goat. Like Kobe would never act like.

[00:28:20]

Yeah. Like, just, like, so above accessible. He's giving.

[00:28:23]

Accessible.

[00:28:23]

Yeah.

[00:28:24]

He's going to start a podcast next. No, who is he giving? Who are we saying? Who's always doing the most?

[00:28:29]

Sellout. Yeah.

[00:28:31]

Sell out. Yes, but who are we always saying is giving?

[00:28:36]

Honestly, it's giving.

[00:28:37]

James Corden, like, everywhere, all at once. Like, calm down. You don't need to be that thirsty. You're very famous.

[00:28:43]

Yeah. I feel like there's someone who we're always saying is a sellout. And the toasters will remind.

[00:28:47]

Yeah, yeah. We're obviously not thinking it, but I was just like, every commercial, I'm like, oh, my God, Tom Brady. Like, go home.

[00:28:52]

Yeah.

[00:28:53]

You have a family.

[00:28:55]

Yeah.

[00:28:56]

So it's almost like he's replaced and.

[00:28:58]

It'S like, does he have to tell all these other brands? Like, oh, I'm actually already in three superbook commercials. Like, yours isn't going to really stand.

[00:29:04]

It's just, it was too much. It really was.

[00:29:08]

Okay, let's get into some of the brands specifically.

[00:29:10]

Yeah.

[00:29:11]

Beyonce tries to break the Internet with Verizon. Cute.

[00:29:16]

There was one celebrity and then Buster from Arrested development. Perfect. Perfect.

[00:29:19]

And then it led to new music from Beyonce announcing of new music through the commercials with Verizon trying to break their amazing Internet high speed.

[00:29:27]

So the creative of the commercial was cute. She looked amazing. They didn't need much because they had Beyonce and that was enough. They didn't need Zach Braff and Jason Momoa. They didn't need 5000 people. I thought it was weird that she released music during the Super bowl. Talk about difficult to get people's attention. There was so much going on. But I also feel like Beyonce doesn't give a fuck. I hate to always compare her to Taylor Swift, but they are the two biggest artists in the world. And Taylor's so meticulous that I feel like we're used to that. Whereas Beyonce, I feel like, kind of doesn't give a fuck anymore, which I really love and respect. And so I was like, oh, I probably wouldn't release new music when it's going to be hard for people to pay attention. She doesn't care. And let me tell you, I listen to the songs. They're amazing. I added both to my liked on Spotify. She's obviously having, like, a country moment, which is so it's actually not shocking if you've been following what she's been doing, like, the last two years. Like, she showed up at this ACM awards and performed and she's always wearing a cowboy hat.

[00:30:25]

She wore a cowboy hat to the Grammys?

[00:30:27]

Yeah, she's low key. Been like, dropping hints. It's the best music I've heard. Like, it's so good.

[00:30:33]

Yeah, it is good.

[00:30:34]

I love, love.

[00:30:35]

That's a good integration.

[00:30:36]

So a plus for everyone.

[00:30:38]

For everything. At the subaru, I want to do a rating scale of bad. Good, great. Can we do that?

[00:30:44]

I think we need more than three.

[00:30:46]

Really?

[00:30:47]

Bad, satisfactory, good, and great.

[00:30:50]

Satisfactory and good are the same to, like, I need three. That's how I operate.

[00:30:54]

Okay.

[00:30:55]

So bad, good, great, bad, good, great. I would say Beyonce, but verizon, great. Agreed. No notes.

[00:30:59]

Agreed.

[00:31:00]

Uber eats wants you to remember it delivers almost everything with the Beckhams. Good. I didn't see the follow up. I've only seen the teasers. I didn't see the follow up. There was a, actually, I missed it. I need to watch it.

[00:31:10]

So Jennifer Aniston was in it too, and so was David Schwimmer. There was like a lot of celebrities. It wasn't know Duncan where it was like, over consumption. Too many celebrities. But it wasn't, like, amazing. I chuckled. It was good. It was good.

[00:31:23]

Good. Okay, then Ben Affleck and the dunkings in Duncan's ad.

[00:31:27]

Bad. It left me with a bad taste in my mouth from Duncan. For every celebrity included, everyone was giving loserville. I don't know what about it?

[00:31:33]

Like, I hated it. Yeah, like, hate. Hate.

[00:31:36]

Need a new word for bad.

[00:31:37]

Like, I think I'm going to go to Starbucks.

[00:31:39]

1000%.

[00:31:42]

Etrade introduces pickle babies.

[00:31:44]

Oh, so etrade has long had that commercial where they have, like, babies talking and to, like, that's always going to be funny.

[00:31:50]

Good. BMW starts talking, like, walk in to sell electric vehicles.

[00:31:55]

That was a top commercial for not. Christopher Walken is not like an a lister. Not obvious. But it really touched on something, like, everybody thinks they can do a Christopher Walken impersonation. It was very good. It was very great.

[00:32:07]

Great. Arnold Schwarzenegger as a good neighbor for State Farm.

[00:32:12]

Also great. Those were my top two. BMW and Arnold Schwarzenegger. First of all, state Farm is just like a great brand. Love again, them having like a big start. It's not so obvious. It was just funny. The actual creative was very smart. It was like a play on words. They didn't sacrifice creative for the amount of celebrities they had in it. It was excellent. Then they also had Danny DeVito in it. We were cackling. Loved.

[00:32:34]

Good. Tina Fey and Lissa stunt double to help her experience everything with booking.com bad.

[00:32:40]

And it should have been great because Jankowski. It was like a little bit of a 30 rock nod. It was bad.

[00:32:45]

Damn. Kate McKinnon and Hellman's and Pete Davidson.

[00:32:48]

We had seen this commercial.

[00:32:49]

Yeah.

[00:32:50]

I thought it was so really like a low bar for comedy. I didn't think it was funny.

[00:32:54]

I thought it was good.

[00:32:55]

Okay, good.

[00:32:56]

Dan Levy and Lil Wayne. Do your homework for homes.com.

[00:32:59]

There were two homes.com ads. Heidi Gardner was in it, too. And they were. They spent. You could tell. They spent so much money. They were really not funny.

[00:33:07]

Yeah. And anything else that comes to mind, that was this list.

[00:33:11]

Popeyes with Ken Jong.

[00:33:14]

I only saw the concept. Love.

[00:33:16]

That's the thing. It's like, I would prefer that these brands hire celebrities who are truly like, okay, Ken Jong is not the most relevant, not the most famous, but he's.

[00:33:27]

So talented and he's so funny.

[00:33:29]

I chuckled.

[00:33:30]

Yeah.

[00:33:30]

Loved.

[00:33:31]

Yeah. Even, like, the elf one.

[00:33:33]

It was good. There were so many celebrities in it. It was just like when Megan Trainor showed up. I was just too many.

[00:33:39]

They didn't need all those celebrities. They should have just had suits.

[00:33:42]

Yeah. And the other two suits guys, Gabriel Mocht and Harvey and Mike, were in a different, I think, Verizon ad, which was cute.

[00:33:49]

Wow. That's crazy. I wonder if Megan got asked. She should have done one.

[00:33:53]

She definitely got asked because the suits people were everywhere.

[00:33:55]

That's a quick couple. Mill. Yeah. Sarah V. Michael. Sarah.

[00:34:00]

Cute. Very cute.

[00:34:01]

Yeah. Different Reese's.

[00:34:03]

Oh, I don't know if I saw that one. Who's in it?

[00:34:08]

Voiceover actor will arnett took brands. Will Arnett Podcaster will arnett.

[00:34:15]

I guess low key. Not enough people talk about. Will Arnett is the voice of the Reese's commercial.

[00:34:19]

I didn't know that.

[00:34:20]

I did know that.

[00:34:21]

It's like peanut butter dipped in chocolate.

[00:34:22]

And honestly, it's so Will Arnett. It's probably a great gig for him.

[00:34:26]

He took fans through an emotional ride as he told them about the changes coming to the candy. Oh, wow. Missed it. Volkswagen.

[00:34:33]

Oh. I think it was their attempt to rewrite their own history as, like, an integral car brand. But they'll always be, like, german car makers.

[00:34:44]

Yeah.

[00:34:44]

It was giving, like, americana look. We had Volkswagen in the 40s. It's like, yeah, what else were you doing in the.

[00:34:49]

That's weird. Just don't bring it up.

[00:34:50]

Just don't go there.

[00:34:51]

Like, just don't mention it. Focus on the future.

[00:34:54]

Let's look forward.

[00:34:56]

Tabularasa.

[00:34:57]

Tabularasa. Exactly.

[00:34:58]

You want to bring it up?

[00:35:00]

Said, like, 1939. It was weird. Me and Ben looked at each other. We're like, oh, that's interesting. Volkswagen is a german car brand.

[00:35:06]

So we're in Germany in 1930, where you took us. Right.

[00:35:09]

Let's then not talk about Germany and the late 30s. Early 40s.

[00:35:13]

Don't remind us. Yeah. Timu.

[00:35:16]

I'm so glad you brought up Timu. A lot of people are talking about Timu because they had the most commercials, which was, I think, maybe like, four or five, which I'm sure they got a deal. They didn't pay full rate for each, but they probably spent $30 million on just the placements.

[00:35:28]

It's like chinese Amazon, and then it's.

[00:35:30]

Like $30 million from a company I ain't never heard of.

[00:35:32]

Yeah.

[00:35:32]

So apparently a lot of people have heard of it, and apparently I'm late to the game. It's allegedly amazing.

[00:35:38]

It's just crazy. It's Timu has nothing to do with Lemo. Emu.

[00:35:41]

Yeah, of course. Timu is apparently an app. It's very similar to Amazon. Alibaba. Kind of. It's an asian brand, and apparently it's cheaper and faster than Amazon, which I didn't even know was possible. And people say it's amazing.

[00:35:54]

Really?

[00:35:55]

Everything is, like, crap. But if you need crap.

[00:35:57]

Like, what kind of crap? Like anything I think I should download.

[00:36:01]

Olivia Outre is from.

[00:36:02]

You're saying if I got, like, a vase and flowers from, like, it'd be crappier than the ones I got from Amazon?

[00:36:06]

Yeah, that's what people told me.

[00:36:08]

So why do I need it?

[00:36:09]

No, I don't know.

[00:36:10]

What do I need cheaper and crappier?

[00:36:12]

Guess.

[00:36:13]

Like, but if it's the same brand as something I'd already be getting.

[00:36:16]

It's not the same brand.

[00:36:17]

No, but, like, say I get a lot of brand name items on Amazon. Can I get them on TMU for cheaper?

[00:36:23]

Oh, I don't know. We should download the app shop like a billionaire.

[00:36:26]

But then their ads worked, and then I'm just a cog.

[00:36:29]

Yeah, but that's okay.

[00:36:30]

No, I don't know. I like to think myself above it. Your Super bowl commercial can't get me.

[00:36:36]

They can't. But Timu might have. Honestly, I was definitely tempted. I'm curious.

[00:36:39]

You're Timu? Curious?

[00:36:40]

Yeah.

[00:36:41]

Do you mean questioning?

[00:36:42]

No, curious.

[00:36:44]

Poppy.

[00:36:45]

That was shocking to see a nice DTC brand that sponsors the toast. Yeah.

[00:36:49]

I thought it was a great campaign. Like, one. They stuck to their esthetic of being a so it all turns vibey nostalgia brand while also thoroughly explaining what they do.

[00:37:01]

Etsy had a great commercial.

[00:37:03]

I loved Etsy's commercial.

[00:37:04]

It was funny.

[00:37:05]

It was so, like, classic etsy. No, and it was funny and historical. Yeah. The French gifted us a Statue of Liberty. We need to get them a thank you gift. So we went on Etsy and got them a custom cheese board. Classic.

[00:37:16]

And I don't even think there was a celebrity in it. No, which I appreciate, honestly. I became, like. I started to hate the celebrities.

[00:37:22]

Yeah. And it's like, there are so many actors who don't make nearly as much money as the celebrities who are in these commercials, and it's like, give them the job. The other one, Jlo, is good.

[00:37:32]

I know.

[00:37:33]

And I feel like he's good.

[00:37:34]

That's what I was saying. It's like giving over consumption. Like, how much money do you need for.

[00:37:37]

Yeah. And so many great ads are like, flow from progressive. Like, she's just a working SAG actress. Jake from Sagstra the gecko. There are sag actresses and actors.

[00:37:48]

It's true. Who deserve the. It's true.

[00:37:52]

It's just. It's. I agree a bunch more. Nothing that I feel like. I don't feel like we missed anything.

[00:38:01]

I definitely give my award to the Arnold Schwarzenegger State farm ad or the Christopher Walken BMW ad.

[00:38:07]

Okay. I give my award to Etsy and Elf.

[00:38:14]

Yeah. Elf was, for me, teetering between good and know.

[00:38:19]

Yeah. Felt one. I don't even watch suits. I didn't know then Olivia was like, if you watch the show, these jokes are really good. And they packed so many jokes into one commercial that they were talking really quickly. Not that I have a right to complain about that, but I could barely make out what they were saying.

[00:38:32]

The thing is, I have nothing against her, but I do feel like the commercial went from great to good when Megan the trainer. When Megan trainer showed up. And I love her. I think she's very talented, but she kind of is, like, the face of doing too much.

[00:38:45]

I agree. And there were other people in this. I feel like one. The suits cast is enough Dianu. Judge Judy for Judge Beauty. It's enough Dianu. That could have been a commercial. They could do a whole series of commercials. Just judge beauty.

[00:38:56]

You know what? There really was no commercial with influencers in it except nerds and Addison Rae, which kind of fell through the cracks. But I feel like they're always, like, shoving a million TikTokers everywhere, and there weren't.

[00:39:07]

I feel like there were influencers in.

[00:39:08]

The elf commercial, in the jury with Megan Trainor.

[00:39:11]

Yeah.

[00:39:12]

If we keep saying Megan the trainer.

[00:39:13]

But it cut so quickly.

[00:39:14]

It was a very fast commercial.

[00:39:16]

Imagine, like, being like, I'm going to super bowl commercial.

[00:39:19]

Quick. Miss it. Yeah, you blink it. Thousand percent.

[00:39:23]

Okay, are we ready to move on to our next story, which is the entertainment from the evening? Yes. I am starting with the pre show lineup and then usher. Okay. So first we had andra day.

[00:39:36]

I was not moved.

[00:39:37]

I was not moved either.

[00:39:39]

I was not moved. And she's a very moving singer.

[00:39:42]

She is a moving singer. Like, try not to get a chill.

[00:39:45]

Yeah. And I didn't.

[00:39:46]

I did not either. And the thing is, my opinion could be objective. The chills, I can't control them. It's true. It's nothing to do with me. If I got chills, I got chills.

[00:40:02]

I also felt, and I felt this way about every performance. I had a really hard time hearing people's vocals. It's like their vocals were not the center of the audio experience. There was a lot going on with the background singers, kept making everyone louder.

[00:40:13]

And then it was like, it's too loud. Is the sing on? Yes. It wasn't audibly clear.

[00:40:19]

It wasn't a perfect auditory experience. I felt like there was a lot going on with the background music, background vocals, just everything. The crowd. That the one track of the person's voice wasn't centered and focused for me, and I found that really frustrating. I felt that way about everybody's performance. Usher, too.

[00:40:37]

I felt that way, too. Except I think the person who had the best chance of it was post Malone. Because he only had the.

[00:40:42]

Because he did the least.

[00:40:43]

Because he did the least. So let's talk about post Malone. America the beautiful.

[00:40:47]

Now, this segment in particular, I will be overwhelmingly negative.

[00:40:50]

Great. But let's do our bad good great scale, because that's andre day.

[00:40:56]

Good bad to good. Yeah.

[00:40:58]

In the middle, plus Malone good bad to good.

[00:41:03]

First of all, I love that he can do a million different things, and that's great that he played. He obviously went down to his more country acoustic set, stripped, stripped down. He did have that sort of auto tune thing that he puts on his microphone that's like his shtick. And I just feel like live performances such as these should be exempt from those types of technical things. I don't appreciate that. It wasn't bad. It was just not inspiring, not chilling, not moving, and I feel like I.

[00:41:33]

Kept waiting for it to be great.

[00:41:35]

That song in particular is. You can really do a lot with it. It's like a simple song. The anthem is a very complicated song. Just doing it is a feat. God bless america is a very simple song, and people always make it their own, and you really can't fuck it up. It's so simple. It's like a hymn. I just felt so uninspired by the whole thing, and I don't think it was good. I will never rewatch it for chills.

[00:42:00]

Yeah. I would only rewatch it just for comparison. I thought he sounded nice. It wasn't like him nor the song. Just together. It wasn't a match. It's no match. It's not a perfect match.

[00:42:13]

It wasn't a love match.

[00:42:14]

It was not a love match. And I feel like so many people could do so much more with it. Agreed. But I felt like he really wanted it to be good. You know what I mean? And he was like, trying, and I think he did his absolute best. Yeah. It wasn't a good idea from the outset.

[00:42:30]

I agree, and that pains me. I can't stress enough how much I don't want to be negative.

[00:42:36]

Yeah.

[00:42:37]

With Reba, too, I would give it a good. It's not one we're going to watch for years to come. There's a list of people, and when somebody does it. We knew when Chris Stapleton. That's the most recent one where we were like, that goes in the hall of Fame. It goes with the Houston. There are certain people who do it, and, you know, in that moment, it is a legendary performance. I can't even point out what. There was nothing Reba did that I didn't like. She didn't arrange it in a weird way. She did a very classic performance of it. She hit almost every note. There was nothing wrong with it. It was not chilling. I also had a hard time hearing her voice.

[00:43:11]

Yeah, but she looked great.

[00:43:12]

She looked like she was having fun. She kind of literally is America with the red hair. She is. And I have no critiques specifically. I was just not moved.

[00:43:25]

So I liked it a little more than you. I thought it was like a really solid rendition. Solid, as you said, hit every note. She sings bigger and better than I thought she did because we kept saying, what does revision sound like? She's got a lovely voice.

[00:43:36]

Yeah, she's got a big voice, too.

[00:43:37]

The acoustics did not help her. It would have been better if we could hear her clear because there was just a lot going on, but because it was so good and solid for. For me, it became a great. Just because it didn't attract. Do you know what I mean? In the sense that because it's good.

[00:43:52]

Enough, it makes it great. I understand that.

[00:43:55]

That's where I kind of am at with everything. That's how I kind of feel about some of my Grammys feelings, too. Because it was good. It's great because it wasn't bad.

[00:44:02]

No, I have a higher bar for the anthem. I really do.

[00:44:05]

Yeah. No, I think maybe my expectations were just kind of low because I was like, hey, that's nice.

[00:44:10]

Like my bar for a God.

[00:44:12]

I feel like if you put on the Star Spangle Banner on Spotify and you just got, like, a stock music.

[00:44:17]

Version, that's what you would get.

[00:44:19]

Reba.

[00:44:19]

And that's good. My bar for certain things, like, my bar for God bless America is like Lady Gaga's. It was so amazing. My bar for the anthem is like Whitney Houston.

[00:44:32]

Beyonce.

[00:44:33]

Now I know that's an unfair bar. But that is the bar because there are people who can sing that way.

[00:44:36]

Yeah. So next year, I want to start the campaign now for Miley. It's Miley's turn.

[00:44:42]

I agree. For either of those two songs.

[00:44:46]

I agree.

[00:44:48]

I think has Cynthia Revo. Cynthia Revo needs to do lift every voice and sing.

[00:44:52]

I think she's done it.

[00:44:53]

And last night would have been a great night for her because the commercial we didn't talk about was the preview we got for Wicked.

[00:44:57]

The wicked trailer. You guys, the movie is made.

[00:44:59]

No, the movie is made. I was shocked. Like, I was like, wait.

[00:45:02]

And it's big.

[00:45:03]

It looked kind of amazing.

[00:45:05]

Yeah.

[00:45:06]

I'm, like, actually really excited about it.

[00:45:08]

No, I'm excited to see where Ari and SpongeBob fell in love.

[00:45:12]

It looks in the trailer.

[00:45:14]

We wouldn't know the movie's done. Why is it going to take so over a year? It's Christmas.

[00:45:21]

No, next year.

[00:45:22]

No, they wouldn't be advertising.

[00:45:26]

That would be crazy. Oh, you're right, you're right, you're right.

[00:45:27]

It has to be this.

[00:45:28]

No, I think it's Thanksgiving.

[00:45:29]

This Thanksgiving.

[00:45:30]

It looks amazing. It looks amazing.

[00:45:32]

Jolly good job.

[00:45:33]

I can't wait.

[00:45:34]

Jolly good job.

[00:45:35]

Like, I got very excited watching it.

[00:45:37]

Yeah. And it's, like, very ari centric.

[00:45:40]

Yes. She was like the whole trailer.

[00:45:41]

I guess that's titillating. Yeah.

[00:45:43]

And Glinda's, like, a huge part of it.

[00:45:45]

Yeah.

[00:45:48]

And then the final performance, one of.

[00:45:50]

The evening, usher, which we were so excited about. I just want to say. Can I say how I thought it should have started? Yeah. Because I had a really good prediction. Not only was I wrong.

[00:45:58]

Wait, he didn't sing that song.

[00:45:59]

He didn't even sing that song more. So this is how I thought it should have started. Usher comes out, if you really want more, like, long silence, be quiet. Okay.

[00:46:09]

You have to start again.

[00:46:10]

The thing is, the silence that I'm going to do right now, it should be longer than the silence.

[00:46:13]

I'm going to do the whole silence.

[00:46:14]

For how long? I think it should be. Okay. If you really want more, if you really want more, sing it out louder. And the crowd has to go crazy while he's waiting. Get on the floor, everyone come out. Hang out the fire and light it up. Fireworks. Take it up higher. Pyro gonna push to the limit. Give me more and then do whatever the fuck you want. So we didn't get that.

[00:46:48]

He didn't even sing that song. Which is disgraceful.

[00:46:50]

Disgraceful.

[00:46:51]

Now I was, like, literally doing backhand springs, like, bending over backwards. I wanted so badly to think it was amazing. It was not good, and it was bad. And my biggest critique of the whole thing was it felt so chaotic, so unorganized. There wasn't someone who was in charge of all the dancers. The background vocals, the choreography, the wardrobe department. It was like all these different departments, like, just standing in the middle of a field. It felt so messy and so chaotic. And I said to Jackie, and if you went to camp, I feel like you'll understand this. It felt like color war. Like, all these kids putting together, like, trying to write a song and doing a little dance with hand motions. There was no cohesion, and the set list was all over the place. There was, like, moments. It started slow, which really is. There should be a slow portion.

[00:47:42]

Of course.

[00:47:42]

It should never be. In the beginning, it was so disappointing.

[00:47:47]

It was a mess. Yeah, but first he comes out first. I like that he was on the field, no stage, and there was all these performers around him was giving greatest showman Vegas. And I was like, I like that. I like razzle dazzle.

[00:47:59]

What the fuck?

[00:48:02]

It was a mess. It looked like everyone was just, like, running in front of the screen. It was so not on Order.

[00:48:12]

There was no order.

[00:48:13]

There was no order. Then there was a lot of different vignettes, I would say. So each one, I'll judge each one. The first one that I wanted to like. So, like, you know, this is the greatest show. Wound up being bad mess. Then Alicia keys. I'm surprised she didn't power glide into the stadium.

[00:48:30]

She basically did.

[00:48:31]

She's been wanting to power.

[00:48:32]

She has, like, a big thing behind her.

[00:48:35]

Maybe she did, because I know she really wanted to power glide. On October 18, she was done. She was desperate to power glide.

[00:48:43]

First note, crack, by the way. The second she opened her mouth, she cracked. That's what I'm saying. It was literally giving circus. Everything was just like. And then even, like, the rollerblades, which he fell.

[00:48:56]

Okay, take out the fall. The rollerblades were my favorite part, but.

[00:48:59]

That'S what I mean. Usher was really trying to do too much, and he fell and he was sweating. Oh, let's talk about the sweat. Because it was really crazy. And I actually appreciated the realness of it.

[00:49:10]

The thing is, and he was so hot that when he took his shirt off, I didn't know if it was to be sexy or because he was hot. No.

[00:49:15]

And he was sweating so much when he took his shirt off, I'm like, yeah, take your shirt off. But just really quickly, the wife beater to do every single thing.

[00:49:21]

Wife beater? Yeah.

[00:49:23]

When he used the tank top to literally wipe the sweat off your brow, he couldn't even open his eyes at one point because the sweat was dripping down so hard.

[00:49:28]

It was like, along came Polly. Yeah.

[00:49:32]

I really respected the relatability of it, but this is a televised performance. Wipe your sweat.

[00:49:36]

Yeah. And I think it was cold in the stadium, and then at one point, he had fire around.

[00:49:40]

By the way, him sweating is so reasonable, for sure, but not to the.

[00:49:43]

Point where you can't see and there's fire around him. And he's like, he's so warm, and it's like what happened in rehearsal?

[00:49:50]

And by the way, it's very clear.

[00:49:51]

And we would have been okay as consumers without fire.

[00:49:53]

No, we didn't need it.

[00:49:54]

And you could have the fire on the stadium.

[00:49:56]

A lot of people were really let down and anticipating that Justin Bieber would come out because they have a song together, somebody to love. Because Justin Bieber was at the performance. I mean, he was at the Super bowl, and Usher was clearly very open to having people come. He had Alicia keys, he had ludacris. He had a lot of people.

[00:50:12]

He had really great people.

[00:50:14]

So it's clear, like, justin Bieber said no, right.

[00:50:17]

I think maybe he's not in a place where he can do that.

[00:50:20]

I don't think he likes to perform.

[00:50:22]

Yeah. And the Super bowl is the biggest stage. He's a little out of practice, even though it wouldn't be that much, but I think it's just a little overwhelming for him, and he's protecting his piece right now.

[00:50:31]

Yeah.

[00:50:31]

So I understand why he said no, but he was there at the game supporting. It's not like he's, like running, hiding, scared.

[00:50:36]

Yeah, but that was definitely like a letdown.

[00:50:39]

The letdown was that he didn't sing more.

[00:50:41]

Agreed.

[00:50:42]

I don't know if I'm alone in absolutely needing to hear that song, but the fact that it wasn't on a set list, like, throw it in the garbage, no offense.

[00:50:50]

I just wish she pared it down a little bit. I feel like it would have been such a great opportunity, and I definitely took away, like, wow, Usher really is an amazing vocalist, an amazing dancer, a great performer. But between trying to show off all of that, the different alpha changes, the collaborators, the fire, it was just too much, and it gave chaos. And I think it was a wasted opportunity because he has a new album out. He's just finishing up his residency in, like, it could have been so good for him.

[00:51:16]

Yeah. I just keep saying it's a mess. You know, the movie, the campaign with Zach Galtakis and his campaign mottos, it's a mess. Like, that's.

[00:51:26]

It was. I could. I didn't know where to look. Yeah.

[00:51:30]

And the audio, again was bad.

[00:51:32]

That was like a running theme.

[00:51:34]

We literally were hearing all this background noise. So we pause it because we're like, is the kitchen?

[00:51:37]

We thought someone left the sink on.

[00:51:39]

Yeah. And we paused. It was silent. So it was all coming from the tv. Yeah.

[00:51:43]

It was just too much.

[00:51:44]

Yeah.

[00:51:45]

And it was a letdown.

[00:51:47]

Yeah. And I literally reserved judgment until a few minutes in. I was like, damn, this is bad.

[00:51:53]

I was trying so hard to, like. I really wanted it to be good.

[00:51:56]

Now here's my question, because I haven't been on my phone that much. What are people saying?

[00:52:00]

It's split, and it always is. Some people are like, we could watch something that was.

[00:52:03]

Some people didn't like Rihanna. Right. And by the way, in hindsight, like, Rihanna was amazing. Perfection.

[00:52:10]

Perfection. You know what, because it was so orderly, beyond orderly. It was just so concise. People are always like, you could watch the great. We go back now and say that Bruno Mars, Beyonce colplate was the best thing of all time. Right. There were people who, after it were.

[00:52:25]

Like, that was the worst thing ever. A little crazy.

[00:52:27]

No, it was amazing.

[00:52:28]

But it ages well. Yeah.

[00:52:30]

It's always going to be divided. There's really never like a unanimous. That was horrible or that was amazing.

[00:52:36]

Lady Gaga was amazing.

[00:52:37]

Lady Gaga's is one of the greatest.

[00:52:39]

But I'm sure there are people who.

[00:52:40]

Katy Perry is one of the greatest of all time. Bruno Mars, every time he comes, is one of the great. Beyonce is one of the greatest. There are just like, for sure. That's what I also mean about the Star Spangle Banner. There's like a hall of fame that you enter where if you give a performance and Lady Gaga's there. Last night, nobody entered that sphere. There was no additions to the hall of Fame for any.

[00:53:02]

I just feel really, I wanted it to be good and I don't want to be a hater. I know, but I would say it was one of the worst. I agree. I've seen.

[00:53:10]

Yeah, it was bad. Too much.

[00:53:15]

Too much.

[00:53:17]

And it's crazy that you can do too much at the Super bowl because the Super bowl requires Vegas. Requires much.

[00:53:21]

In Vegas, they should have had. They could have had Cirque du Soleil.

[00:53:24]

Yeah.

[00:53:25]

Flying through.

[00:53:25]

Maybe they did.

[00:53:26]

They had everything. They had everything. I just want to say I liked the roller skates.

[00:53:30]

Okay.

[00:53:30]

The dancing on the skates.

[00:53:32]

After watching the first ten minutes of the performance and then seeing the roller skates, I couldn't appreciate it because I'm like, this person's doing too much. It was so chaotic, and I didn't.

[00:53:39]

Mind the fall, and it wasn't a fall. It was a stumble. It was a stumble, and it wasn't that bad. I hope he's not losing sleep over that.

[00:53:47]

He got married, I think.

[00:53:49]

Yeah, he obtained, like, a license.

[00:53:50]

A license. He is, like, a long term girlfriend, and I believe they got married last night in Vegas.

[00:53:53]

Like, to celebrate, which is doing the most.

[00:53:55]

But that's cute, actually. I really like that.

[00:53:56]

Yeah. They could get married like any kiki.

[00:54:00]

Palmer showed her support, saying she loved it.

[00:54:02]

Well, if Kiki likes it, so true. On to the next story. Oh, my God, our fourth story.

[00:54:08]

Oh, my God.

[00:57:16]

Thank you, Turdy. Well, our fourth story, and I'm really our fourth story, and I'm really proud of us because it's been an hour and we haven't talked about Taylor and.

[00:57:26]

Travis, because you know what, everybody? It was herbs up plot. Yep, it was. And it was a big one.

[00:57:31]

It was a big one. But we needed to talk about everything. Everything else. And now we may discuss. Taylor Swift came from Tokyo to support her man's Travis. Kelsey at the Super bowl in a suite with her friends. Let's talk about who she brought, what.

[00:57:45]

She wore, the big suite. So Taylor was there with her crew. Obviously, Travis, he said he paid for it, and he gave her a lot of, like. It was kind of like the Taylor show. Obviously, Travis's family was there. Nobody from Travis really appeared to have gotten the boot. His whole family was there. Kylie, Jason, parents. They were a few key characters who have started to recognize as, like, Travis's friends because Kelly Taylor keeps posting them and so does Taylor. So everybody got the invite, which was nice. It was a big suite. And then Taylor brought Blake, who might have been like, she looked so crazy. Her outfit was really nuts. Everyone said it was like, giving.

[00:58:22]

Like, it ends with us.

[00:58:23]

She looked.

[00:58:24]

Took some clothes and hair home from the set.

[00:58:26]

She just looked so nutty.

[00:58:28]

That's the thing.

[00:58:28]

Everybody was doing too much.

[00:58:30]

Yeah, but it's like the Super bowl in Vegas.

[00:58:32]

It's hard not to do too much.

[00:58:33]

You're rewarded when you don't.

[00:58:35]

And the thing is, when you're standing next is more to, like, every minute is photographed, and it's just so unfair. I saw these photos that the NFL posted in feed, and it was just like, the worst. It's like they tried to get the worst photo of Taylor and Blake from underneath. There was a filter on it. They just leave them alone.

[00:58:50]

I haven't seen that.

[00:58:51]

They went out of their way to.

[00:58:51]

Find the worst photo. NFL posted it.

[00:58:53]

Yeah. Let me see.

[00:58:54]

I feel like you might just, like, be.

[00:58:55]

No, I'm not exaggerating. I'll show it to you. 1 second.

[00:58:58]

Why would it be in the NFL's interest to post a bad know?

[00:59:02]

It wasn't someone looking.

[00:59:04]

Oh, well, that's different.

[00:59:06]

Hold on. They posted so much, they don't stop posting.

[00:59:12]

My phone can't load fast enough.

[00:59:15]

That's a bad photo.

[00:59:16]

Crazy.

[00:59:16]

Thank you.

[00:59:17]

That's a crazy.

[00:59:18]

That's disrespectful to two women. Like, come on.

[00:59:21]

Yeah. So it's either, like, intentionally disrespectful or, like, a man.

[00:59:23]

A man posted it and has no idea.

[00:59:25]

No idea what that's an insane.

[00:59:26]

And imagine how we would look like if somebody took a photo of us like that without, like, they have professional.

[00:59:30]

Glam trainers, private chat. That's insane.

[00:59:33]

Insane.

[00:59:34]

They're wrong for.

[00:59:37]

Thought.

[00:59:38]

The NFL Instagram, like, they're doing the most. I guess I should have.

[00:59:41]

They're being thirsty. They keep doing collab posts with, like.

[00:59:43]

Oh, yeah. With anyone.

[00:59:44]

They'll collab with anyone. Anyone who will accept the invitation.

[00:59:48]

Yeah, that's how it works, I guess.

[00:59:50]

Now, with media brands, if you're in a piece of content, they will send you a request to collab. Like, you either just accept it or don't.

[00:59:57]

Yeah, but I would.

[00:59:58]

Amazing. Imagine you check keeps doing NFL collabs, and that's amazing for her.

[01:00:02]

Totally. Okay, cool.

[01:00:04]

But I'm sure the NFL sent Taylor, so we have an invitation to collab.

[01:00:08]

I'm sure if she opens her messages with them, it's all invitations to collab.

[01:00:13]

So Taylor brought Blake Lively, who looked.

[01:00:16]

But also I saw she was wearing, like, half million dollars worth of jewelry.

[01:00:19]

Yeah. And it was just, like, big, clunky jewelry. Everything was just, like, big. It was just too much. She brought ice spice. I don't know if she brought Lana Del Rey because it looked like she said hi to Lana Del Rey in a different part.

[01:00:29]

How the fuck would Lana Del Rey be at the game when it's her best friend? No, but the Grammys.

[01:00:33]

No, I know, but there's those photos. Like, Taylor said hi to her. She was in a different part of the stadium. And then Lana was brought into her suite.

[01:00:40]

I don't know. Maybe Lana was, like, visiting a friend. There's no way Lana was there without her.

[01:00:45]

Kelly Teller and Miles were in the suite. Taylor's friend Ashley. Ice Spice. I think that's it.

[01:00:50]

And her mom. Cute.

[01:00:52]

And her mom. There was a lot of photos of her mom and Travis's mom. I think this might have been. I don't know if it was the first time they meet. It's the first public affair between the two of them, and they're literally twins. Cute. So that was great. They got a suite. Everybody seemed to have a seat, which was great.

[01:01:06]

Be having a jolly good time.

[01:01:07]

I did find it really interesting. Just like the celebrities that they showed, where everyone was sitting. A lot of them were not in suites, and they weren't in that particular stadium. Has a lot of different types of seating, but a lot of them weren't in suites, but they were in these special chairs. Do you know what I mean?

[01:01:20]

Are you sure they're not suite chairs.

[01:01:22]

I'm not sure, but I have a good feeling.

[01:01:24]

Like Justin and Haley looks like they were in stadium seats, but I feel like they were in suite stadium seats.

[01:01:28]

Justin and Haley, I believe, were in a suite.

[01:01:29]

Right. But there was pictures of them, and if you didn't zoom out, it looks like they're just in the stands.

[01:01:36]

Okay, so, like, those particular seats. That's what I'm talking about. I don't know if those are suites, but they're definitely a different tier.

[01:01:42]

No, it's definitely suite because look at Taylor's. And it's the glass in front of.

[01:01:45]

Them, and they have. But let's talk about Taylor's outfit. I thought she looked very sexy. I thought she looked amazing.

[01:01:50]

She looked very good. She looks great. I think this is her best football look. Me too. Plus, it's perfect for Vegas, actually. Perfect Vegas Super bowl look without doing too much, but doing enough. And she didn't even have to change to go out later, so it was, like a good going out outfit, but also watching a football game outfit. No, I loved the hair.

[01:02:05]

She's obviously doing this thing with her hair where she's, like, enjoying putting little braids in them. And this time, she put a bunch of little braids in her ponytail. I thought the hair was amazing. The face was great. Sexy corset. It had, like, a little netting underneath, a little underboob, and then the pants from area, which were, like, the statement piece. I thought she was dressed perfectly.

[01:02:21]

I thought she was dressed perfectly.

[01:02:23]

She looked great.

[01:02:24]

She looked great.

[01:02:25]

She did storm the field.

[01:02:26]

Of course she did.

[01:02:28]

Which I think we assumed she was going to, but it was still crazy nonetheless to see, know walking down with Donna holding mean. So there's a lot of footage coming out of Taylor and Travis, like, reuniting on the field of different angles, mouth reading, whatever.

[01:02:41]

And.

[01:02:43]

Travis hugged his mom first. And I don't think that's bad or good. I just want to bring it up.

[01:02:48]

As he should as a boy. Mom, that's a girlfriend.

[01:02:53]

Yes.

[01:02:55]

You're hugging mama first. Okay.

[01:02:57]

What about a fiance?

[01:02:58]

We said this about Brock Purdy.

[01:03:00]

Yeah, because I saw a video where Brock Purdy hugged his mom before his fiancee, and I just thought it was interesting because I'm very much. My identity is wife right now, and your identity is mom. So I think we look at it very differently.

[01:03:09]

But I have both identities. I hold dual citizenship.

[01:03:12]

Right in this current moment, you definitely identify more as a mom than you do as a new.

[01:03:17]

When I look at Brock Purdy, I'm identifying with his mama, not his fiance. I'm team mama.

[01:03:22]

So you're team mama. So, of course, I think when it's a girlfriend, he should have hugged Donna first, like, for.

[01:03:26]

Yeah, for sure.

[01:03:27]

Fiance. You can get away with both.

[01:03:31]

You can get away with both. Yeah. Wife. Wife first. And mother of your children first.

[01:03:37]

Wait, wife and mother? Okay, let's say your wife comes on the field with you and your kids. Do you hug the kids first or your wife?

[01:03:44]

Oh, it's okay. However it goes, I think you hug your kids first, though, because otherwise, who's watching them?

[01:03:49]

I feel like you hug your wife and your kids hug your legs, like, at the same time.

[01:03:53]

But I feel like the kids run up and then grab the kids, and then they grab the wife. I like that.

[01:03:57]

No, it's definitely, like. It's a hierarchy.

[01:03:59]

Yeah. But that one doesn't need to be thought out. It's just a matter of who gets to you first, because the kids might be, like, running, the wife might not want to run, and Taylor did not.

[01:04:08]

I think Taylor took a step back and let Donna have her moment. She was very respectful. Taylor loves her mom more than anything in the world. She totally. That's it. I just thought it was interesting.

[01:04:16]

No, I thought it was all orchestrated, not in, like, an orchestra.

[01:04:20]

It was meticulous.

[01:04:21]

The procession was appropriate.

[01:04:23]

Agreed.

[01:04:24]

It was appropriate procession. And then also, because he hugged Taylor, the mom first. He kind of, like, got out of the way, and then he could have a long moment. He could ruminate with Taylor, because he did hug Taylor first, and then he has to go to his mom. He's leaving Taylor hanging. So instead, he got to hug Taylor and stay with Taylor.

[01:04:38]

It was like.

[01:04:40]

And then Donna can go and talk.

[01:04:43]

To other got, like, we got one big moment from Taylor on the field. Like, it was the know kiss. And they hugged and kissed for a really long time. And the mouth readers were having a party. But then we got a lot of other footage, because Taylor went to the after party, which was at a club. It was in Vegas, obviously. The chain smokers performed. They played a lot of Taylor music, and she seemed really into it. So we got footage of them dancing and kissing to love story. We got footage of Travis in the DJ booth while the chain smokers played you belong with me, and he started pointing across the room to Taylor, and it was like, honestly, it was too much. It was so cute. So we are feasting again. They are giving and giving and giving.

[01:05:19]

Yeah. And I'm sure we'll see even more today from last night. I thought the chain smokers did a really good job remixing the songs. They should be extremely proud. And if I were Taylor, I'd be like, that's good.

[01:05:29]

Yeah, maybe I should collab, maybe new. Because she's always doing these different versions of her popular.

[01:05:34]

Yeah. Like, I would think, like, oh, that was a good.

[01:05:38]

The way, when you saw Taylor at the club in Vegas, what did you think of?

[01:05:43]

Nothing.

[01:05:43]

Oh, my God. I thought of Harris. Like, remember when she went to, like, with her friends, took a jet and she was being so normal. And I remember we were on the breath being like, this is exactly what Taylor Swift should be doing. Like, her boyfriend's the biggest dj in the world. Like, go to Vegas. Oh, my God. Yes. With haim. They took a plane and just saw Travis, saw Calvin for fun because her boyfriend is a dj, and that's what you do.

[01:06:03]

That's fun.

[01:06:04]

And it reminded me so much of that. I think it was the same club. I think it was at.

[01:06:08]

Fun.

[01:06:08]

Yeah. Fun, fun.

[01:06:10]

Just jolly good time.

[01:06:12]

I loved it. Of course I wanted my team to win. I did. And I stand by that.

[01:06:16]

And I can't imagine thinking, like, how Kristen would be celebrating. I know of would. And Brock, like, oh, my God, if Brock won a Super bowl and the bonus he would get, and he'd get.

[01:06:26]

To go to a club. So for, you know, of course, I'm grateful that we got.

[01:06:32]

Brock would be going to Disney world.

[01:06:34]

I didn't hear Patrick Mahomes say that. Did you?

[01:06:36]

So he doesn't get paid.

[01:06:37]

But I also, like, I wasn't fully.

[01:06:38]

Like, by that point, I bought a ching. I didn't hear Patrick Mahomes say any.

[01:06:42]

Oh, no, I did.

[01:06:42]

He was saying.

[01:06:43]

He yelled his daughter, which was really cute. Oh.

[01:06:45]

And Travis spoke.

[01:06:46]

If you can call it that.

[01:06:48]

You can call it that. Travis yelled.

[01:06:51]

Yeah. He said, viva Las Vegas.

[01:06:53]

Viva Las Vegas viva, viva Las Vegas.

[01:06:57]

And then he said, you got to fight for your right. And then he didn't say to party.

[01:07:02]

Because the crowd said it, because it was inferred.

[01:07:04]

Yeah. He's sort of poetic like that. He just, like, leaves it all. It was gorgeous. It was a lot, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Taylor looked great. Every photo. It's giving hall of fame these photos that are coming out of, just, like, the red lip. It's too much.

[01:07:24]

I also feel like the last on the field photo moment, like, he was wearing his practice shirt right over his.

[01:07:31]

No, it wasn't a practice shirt. That's a t shirt you get when you win the AFC championship.

[01:07:34]

Okay. Well, he had already put it on, so he wasn't like wearing his uniform. She didn't look like how she looked last night.

[01:07:41]

Much more glamorous last night. She had like a full hair look.

[01:07:44]

She was wearing a big ugly sweater and her hair was like, not, oh my. But last night she looked amazing. I feel like. But that moment from the last game was authentic. He wasn't in his uniform and she was just being casual and that was really cute and authentic. And then last time we got like the more polished version, glamor. So if they're going to do like a frame bridge photo they can use, but they have. I feel like it's kind of like.

[01:08:12]

When you get engaged and you don't know you're getting engaged, you look sweaty and ugly and then you put on a white dress and do engagement photos.

[01:08:16]

Right. So they'll get the engagement photos frame, but that sweaty and ugly picture, that's the real and that's the beauty. And I would like to look back at that and no, but for what's going to go on my wall, I want the nice.

[01:08:27]

Cannot wait for Travis to shave his beard. I think he looks so horrible.

[01:08:30]

I like it.

[01:08:31]

I really don't.

[01:08:32]

He says the beard gives him power. He could feel the power.

[01:08:34]

He's literally like, what's Samson?

[01:08:35]

Is that the Samson?

[01:08:36]

Yeah. No, I get it. And it's like a superstition thing. A lot of sports players ugly and it looks like it smells.

[01:08:42]

And I feel like when he shaves it, that'll be another huge moment. Like they step out. It's just going to be.

[01:08:48]

And he's going to look like so hot. And think about it.

[01:08:50]

For the Met gala, Taylor's very fair skinned.

[01:08:52]

I do feel like it probably irritates her skin. Like, you know, the beard. What do they call it? Beard. Like, she definitely gets that.

[01:08:59]

Oh, for, uh. Cause my husband will shave, but then the stubble gives me irritation.

[01:09:05]

Yeah, you have similar skin. It's what we call really, no matter.

[01:09:09]

How you slice it, it's a problem.

[01:09:11]

He's going to have a rash. Yeah.

[01:09:12]

I actually feel like once it grows out to be so bushy, it's not.

[01:09:15]

Just feels unsanitary.

[01:09:16]

It depends what the texture is.

[01:09:18]

Right. And how is he taking. Maintaining.

[01:09:20]

Yeah. Is he beard oil? Oil.

[01:09:24]

What did you say? Oh, met Gala.

[01:09:26]

Yeah.

[01:09:27]

It's not that far away.

[01:09:29]

No, but everyone was also saying, and this leads into our fifth story, which is celebrities at the game.

[01:09:34]

Okay, but wait, really quick. Let's just check her schedule. Can you tell me when the Met gala is?

[01:09:38]

Yes. First Monday in May. I'll tell you what day that is. But everyone was saying that the Super bowl last night pulled more celebrities than the Met gala.

[01:09:46]

Definitely.

[01:09:51]

May 6, Margot's birthday.

[01:09:54]

So Taylor is touring until March eigth, then has a break until May 9. She could do it. And it's in Paris, which isn't like crazy far away.

[01:10:06]

Yeah. From easy fight, from New York.

[01:10:08]

Like 6 hours.

[01:10:08]

Yeah. She could do it if she wants.

[01:10:10]

If she wanted to. But see, the difference between the Met gala and the Super bowl is like, the Met gala is very political because there's like a hosting committee. So it's like if Kim Kardashian is on the hosting committee, Taylor's just not going to go. And Taylor's been on the hosting committee many times.

[01:10:21]

Right.

[01:10:21]

So there is a lot of rhyme and reason why certain people go and certain people don't. With the just. It's anarchy. Anyone can go. If you can get a ticket, you can go. Especially it being in Vegas. So it really was star studded. Like Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Kim Kardashian with Khloe and Kendall.

[01:10:40]

Gwen Stefani.

[01:10:41]

Gwen Stefani was like, there a lot. Kelly. Queen Kelly was at the Super bowl. Of course.

[01:10:44]

Like, that's Kelly using her power for Kelly. Sorry.

[01:10:47]

It is America's sport and she is America's sweetheart. Like, the two are so clearly congruent.

[01:10:52]

I mean, she should have been singing. Oh, my God.

[01:10:55]

Wait, let's talk about that. I'm so glad you brought that up because we need to start a list now that we're going to start. Like, love it. Guessing for next year.

[01:11:01]

Entertainers not even guessing, but suggesting these.

[01:11:04]

Are people who have not done it who need to be included.

[01:11:08]

Yes.

[01:11:09]

This is for all entertainment.

[01:11:11]

All entertainment.

[01:11:12]

Pink, Miley Kelly. They could do the star Spangled Banner. They could do one of the intro.

[01:11:17]

Pink did star Spangling Banner. Pink should do the halftime show. I think she has it in her. I was listening to Pink last night and I was like, I'd rather see you up there shaking that thing.

[01:11:25]

Pink, Kelly Malley. Taylor has not done anything that's like so obvious.

[01:11:29]

Someone who I always say that should do it that I think would be an amazing Super bowl halftime show is pit bull love. So many people would come out with him because he has someone on every song.

[01:11:39]

Jackie, it's inspired.

[01:11:41]

It would be such a, like, I really think know when Rock Nation's contract is up it should be the toast that they talk to. I agree. That they collaborate with for the halftime show.

[01:11:51]

Let's also think about people who have residencies because there is definitely a crossover. Carrie Underwood is someone who could definitely do.

[01:11:57]

Oh, yeah. And she has NFL ties.

[01:11:59]

Right. If you can do a residency, you can do the halftime show.

[01:12:01]

It's just kind of equal.

[01:12:02]

Like Katy Perry, obviously, who's already done it.

[01:12:04]

Kelly, who has a residency.

[01:12:05]

The Jonas brothers did a small residency. I don't know if they're at halftime level yet.

[01:12:09]

Not. No.

[01:12:10]

We'll keep the list running, top of mind. But I think we've suggested some really good people.

[01:12:16]

I think that we have too.

[01:12:17]

Yeah. Or like a band. We always forget about bands like imagine dragons. They would be great. Sorry, they would.

[01:12:23]

Yeah, but people hate them.

[01:12:24]

They're just like. They give corny. But that's what the Super bowl is for.

[01:12:27]

Yeah.

[01:12:28]

Radioactive.

[01:12:29]

They actually would be good with, like, one or two other people.

[01:12:32]

Kind of how, like Coldplay did with imagine dragons is like, not a bad call.

[01:12:36]

I'm going to put them on the list. I'm going to put them down because.

[01:12:38]

There are, like, a bunch of bands who are so underrated that just have hit after hit.

[01:12:43]

Yeah, that's like Maroon five, but they did it right.

[01:12:45]

And I think people consider one of the greatest Super bowl halftime shows of all time because it was right after 911 was creed.

[01:12:53]

Can you take me high? Yeah.

[01:12:58]

Who's like the Creed? Imagine dragons is the creed of our time.

[01:13:01]

No, it's a very strong call. One republic.

[01:13:04]

People don't respect them enough.

[01:13:05]

I feel like one Republic can't even do a concert and sell tickets and get people to care because people are disgusting. Disgusting. And then Ryan Tatter has so many.

[01:13:14]

Collabs, by the way, actually, one republic is a great call. And that's the thing that they need to remind people, like, who the fuck they are.

[01:13:22]

Who the fuck they are.

[01:13:23]

And he could bring out Beyonce to do Halo.

[01:13:25]

He could bring out Jonas brothers. Jonas brothers.

[01:13:29]

He could bring out Taylor Swift like he wrote 1989. He could do a million things.

[01:13:35]

It hurts me to see this potential. I know, but I would have said the same thing about usher and he fumbled. And that would be like, if one republic did the halftime show and they fumbled, it could be the right person and just the wrong show.

[01:13:47]

So other celebrities who were at the game, Martha Stewart, and she was posting some hilarious content. Let me just read the caption without butchering it. She's so funny. Okay. She posted a picture. They put her on the jumbotron. And so she posted a picture of herself on the jumbotron and wrote, made it on the jumbotron. Second quarter, SF ten, KC zero. Good for some, bad for some. Like actual.

[01:14:12]

Very true. But how did Martha feel? Who was Martha rooting for?

[01:14:15]

She was wearing brown and gold. So a little bit of both and.

[01:14:19]

A little bit of neither.

[01:14:20]

Exactly. It was really starstruated.

[01:14:23]

Jeff Goldblum.

[01:14:23]

Like everyone was there. It was kind of a place to be.

[01:14:27]

Who wasn't there? As far as I saw.

[01:14:29]

Who?

[01:14:30]

Meghan and Harry.

[01:14:31]

Oh, no, they weren't. And it was confirmed that they weren't going to be going.

[01:14:33]

I need a Meghan and Harry tracker. Yeah.

[01:14:36]

Like connect kid who's tracking Taylor's plane. Do something more and track. What do they do?

[01:14:40]

Not in a nefarious way. I want to know where they go and where they don't go. And also, as much as it's important for me to know where they've been, I need to know the things that. Big things. And I need to then remember, like, oh, Meghan and Harry weren't there.

[01:14:51]

Right. No, but they went to Jamaica for the Bob Marley film. Their choice. They're very intentional with where they go.

[01:14:56]

Met. Gallon. No. Right. Super bowl. No. Right. Aristotle. No, she didn't go.

[01:15:04]

She did not.

[01:15:05]

But where did.

[01:15:06]

Renaissance. She was there. Yes.

[01:15:07]

I need to know that.

[01:15:08]

Yeah. No, it's really interesting.

[01:15:10]

Every like big Jeff Bezos birthday party.

[01:15:13]

Not there.

[01:15:14]

I need to know. Yeah.

[01:15:15]

Ellen's birthday party. They were there or they weren't. I can't remember.

[01:15:19]

They were either there or they were in.

[01:15:20]

Yeah, so true. I agree.

[01:15:24]

It was one of those.

[01:15:25]

We do need a tracker on them. Them not being like, we got enough celebrities, but them not being there was.

[01:15:30]

Like, I need an account called did Meghan and Harry go? And it could be a few days later that they tell me not, where are they going? Did they go?

[01:15:38]

Yeah. No, they didn't.

[01:15:39]

Every Kardashian Christmas, did Meghan and Harry go?

[01:15:42]

No, but there has not been like a relationship between the girlies and Meghan.

[01:15:46]

That's weird.

[01:15:47]

And it seems like it's obviously now it's intentional.

[01:15:49]

There should have been.

[01:15:50]

There also really hasn't been one between them and the Obamas. And that's who I thought they were.

[01:15:53]

Really going to Obama's birthday party. Did Meghan and Harry go? No.

[01:15:57]

And I feel like Martha's Vineyard. Meghan and Harry, Beyonce, Jay Z. Like, that's like where they should have gone and they didn't. They go to dinner with Foster. Like, it's weird.

[01:16:06]

Did Meghan and Harry go to dinner with David and Catherine?

[01:16:09]

Yes, they did.

[01:16:11]

So that's kind of what I need to know.

[01:16:13]

Yeah. So that is your official Super bowl recap. I don't believe we missed anything. Like, we really hit the nail on the head. I'm excited for people to hear this episode. So we're going to wrap this up so you guys can listen to Claude, you know, back. We're back. We never really left.

[01:16:28]

But you know who did leave and is back?

[01:16:30]

Joe Rogan.

[01:16:31]

Yes. Rats.

[01:16:33]

Who are you going to tell?

[01:16:34]

The flamingos.

[01:16:35]

I know. Like, we have this beautiful set I'm going to work on. I'm not loving our camera angle today. Like, I'm going to work on some things. The IT department. Also, Jackie needs new lights. Like, I'll outfit by the time you leave here. I leave here. Have a whole new studio for the remote setups. For the remote setup, I'll need to hit up best.

[01:16:49]

No, we have a good plan for tomorrow for the camera, but we just didn't want to tinker with it too much today.

[01:16:53]

Yeah. So love you. Hope you guys have a great day. Thanks so much for being here. Thank you so much for listening to the. To some Monday morning show where we deliver the best stories.

[01:16:59]

You need to never meet the Friday YouTube.

[01:17:00]

Watching this on YouTube.

[01:17:09]

Without further ado, we bid you adieu.

[01:17:12]

I do want to say, and I like the verbiage, but you feel like.

[01:17:15]

It breaks it up.

[01:17:16]

No, I just feel, like vibe wise, melodically, like, we just need to shift it because I'm so positive and then you're, like, so serious, it sounds like you're starting the show.

[01:17:24]

But do you not think that's classic us?

[01:17:26]

Low key, maybe?

[01:17:28]

Okay. No, but I hear what you're saying about it breaking up the melody.

[01:17:31]

We're beautiful, sunny and wiggly.

[01:17:32]

Talented.

[01:17:33]

We are.

[01:17:33]

Without further ado, we bid you ado.

[01:17:36]

Love you.

[01:17:37]

Bye. You were right. You were right about that fix. A little tinkering, a little rejiggering.
