We think there are about 700 to 800,000 black bears across all of North America. Fewer than one person is actually fatally injured by a black bear every year.

The bear is back in my yard and climbing my tree, followed by the three little cubs. And then I guess the cubs got hungry, and they woke her up, and they scampered down the tree, and she threw herself on the back, and the three cubs proceeded to nurse. And then when they were done, they went back off into, I guess, the woods.

I went into the kitchen to put something on the table. I turned around, and the bear's right there.
