I really did not believe in credit cards when I was younger. I was taught that credit's bad and you shouldn't need a credit card. It's better just to avoid it. I was 18 years old, and some people were telling me, Get a credit card. You need a credit card. I thought I was so much better than everyone else because I had a debit card. Then when I wanted to start buying real estate, I went to a lender and I pulled my credit and it was zero. I mean, it was nothing because I had no history at all of any credit. They denied me a loan when I was buying real estate. I couldn't get a loan, and their only advice was maybe you could get a cosign. But neither of my parents had It really put me back in the very beginning years because I didn't have a credit card. That was a pretty big mistake and easily avoidable.
