But authorities now say that her tough love was actually child abuse.

Ruby Franky's son escaped from the Utah home of her self-help business partner, Jody Hildebrandt.

The boy was reportedly starved and tied up with duct tape alongside his 10-year-old sister.

This kid is obviously him detained. He's covered in wounds. We We need the cops as soon as possible.

As law enforcement dug deeper, they uncovered injuries, torture, and emotional harm inflict by both Franky and Hildebrandt.

It's horrifying that it has taken to this long and to this degree for people to listen and to do something about it, but not shocking. Not shocking that she could or would do this because she's already done this.
