ChatGPT integration

The HappyScribe app for ChatGPT connects your transcription library to ChatGPT through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Install it once, mention @HappyScribe in any chat, and ChatGPT can search your transcripts, pull exact quotes with timestamps, and answer questions that span your entire meeting history — no copying and pasting required.

How to connect

Open the HappyScribe app in ChatGPT and click “Install plugin”.

Click “Sign in with HappyScribe” and approve access with your existing HappyScribe account.

Mention @HappyScribe in any chat and start asking about your recordings.

Key capabilities

• Search your library — find any transcript by keyword, speaker, or date from inside the chat
• Exact quotes with timestamps — every quote points back to the moment it was said
• Ask across 50 files — one question, answered from up to 50 transcriptions at once
• Create transcriptions — start a new transcription from a URL without leaving ChatGPT
• Knowledge graph — explore the people and companies mentioned across your recordings

What you can ask

With the connector enabled, ChatGPT answers from your actual recordings instead of guessing. Ask it to pull the action items out of yesterday's standup, compare how three different customers described the same problem, or find and quote the exact moment a commitment was made. Every answer points back to a transcript you can open and check.

Access and privacy

The connector authenticates with your own HappyScribe account, so ChatGPT can only reach the workspaces and folders you already have access to. The connection stays scoped to your account, and you can remove it at any time from ChatGPT's settings.

Prefer a manual MCP connection?

HappyScribe also runs as a standard MCP server, which is useful when apps are restricted in your ChatGPT workspace. Go to Apps > Settings > Advanced Settings, enable Developer Mode, then click Create and add HappyScribe with the server URL https://www.happyscribe.com/mcp. The same server works with Claude, Claude Code and Cursor — the help centre has the steps for each client.
