MCP Server integration

The HappyScribe MCP server connects your transcripts and meetings to Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and any other AI tool that supports MCP (Model Context Protocol). Your assistant can transcribe files, find and quote anything said in your recordings, fix transcripts, run your meeting summaries, and export or share the result. Using Claude or ChatGPT? Add HappyScribe from their app directories instead.

What tools does the HappyScribe MCP server include?

The server gives your assistant 46 tools, grouped below. Tools that only read your data never change anything. Tools that create, edit, share or delete ask for write access when you connect, and deleted files go to the trash, so you can restore them.

Transcribe in the chat (7)

• create_transcription — Transcribe or subtitle a file you attach in the chat, or any public link: YouTube, Vimeo, a cloud share or a direct file URL.
• show_upload_box — Open an upload box in the chat to drop one or several audio or video files from your computer or phone.
• get_transcription_status — Follow a transcription while it runs and know when it's ready.
• unlock_transcription — Continue a transcription that is waiting for minutes, once you agree to use them.
• retranscribe — Run the transcription again on an existing file, for example in another language.
• get_upload_url — Upload a file from the assistant's own workspace, for example in Claude Code.
• finalize_upload — Confirm that upload so the file can be transcribed.

Find, read and quote (9)

• list_transcriptions — Browse your latest transcripts, filtered by folder, date, language or recordings only.
• search_transcriptions — Find exact words, names or phrases across every transcript you have.
• get_transcription — Read one transcript in full: text, speakers, summary and details.
• get_transcriptions — Read several transcripts at once to compare or summarize them.
• show_transcript — Show a transcript as a card in the chat, with its audio player, speakers and timestamps.
• verify_quotes — Check quotes against the real transcript and get the exact timestamp and a link to that moment.
• get_video_frames — See what was on screen in a video recording at a given moment: slides, demos and screen shares.
• get_folder_hierarchy — See your folder tree and how many files each folder holds.
• list_read_files — See which files were read this month and how many reads are left.

Fix transcripts (4)

• rename_speakers — Replace “Speaker 1” with real names in one go.
• reassign_speakers — Fix who said what over a time range.
• replace_text_in_transcript — Correct a word or name everywhere in a transcript.
• replace_text_batch — Apply several corrections to a transcript at once.

Export and share (3)

• export_transcription — Download transcripts as Word, PDF, text, Markdown, spreadsheets, HTML, JSON or subtitles (SRT, VTT), with timestamps and speaker names.
• get_export_status — Get the download link of a larger export once it's ready.
• share_transcription — Invite people by email with view or edit rights, or turn on the public link.

Meeting summaries (7)

• list_summary_templates — See the summary templates available in your workspace.
• get_summary_template — Open a template and its sections.
• create_summary_template — Create a template for a type of meeting, like sales calls or interviews.
• update_summary_template — Change a template's sections or instructions.
• delete_summary_template — Remove a template you no longer use.
• regenerate_summary — Write a meeting's summary again, with the same or another template.
• set_meeting_template — Choose the template for an upcoming meeting or for all your meetings.

Meetings and calendar (2)

• list_calendar_events — See your upcoming and past meetings and whether the notetaker will record them.
• get_meeting_diagnostics — Find out why a meeting was or wasn't recorded.

Organize your library (6)

• create_folder — Create a new folder.
• rename_folder — Rename a folder.
• delete_folder — Remove an empty folder.
• move_transcriptions — Move up to 50 files to another folder at once.
• rename_transcription — Give a file a clearer name.
• delete_transcriptions — Send files to the trash. You can restore them later.

Glossaries (4)

• list_glossaries — See the glossaries that keep names and terms spelled right.
• get_glossary — Open a glossary with all its terms.
• create_glossary — Create a glossary of names, brands or jargon for your transcripts.
• update_glossary — Add, edit or remove terms in a glossary.

Workspace and help (4)

• get_workspace — See which workspace your assistant is connected to.
• search_helpdesk — Search the HappyScribe help center.
• get_helpdesk_article — Read a full help article.
• request_missing_capability — Tell the HappyScribe team about something your assistant couldn't do yet.

How do I connect it?

• Claude Code: run: claude mcp add --transport http happyscribe https://www.happyscribe.com/mcp, then type /mcp to sign in.
• Cursor, Codex and other MCP clients: add a remote MCP server with the URL https://www.happyscribe.com/mcp. Your client opens the HappyScribe sign-in page.
• Claude or ChatGPT: add HappyScribe from their app directories. See the HappyScribe for Claude and HappyScribe for ChatGPT pages.

There is no API key to copy: you sign in with your HappyScribe account and approve access.

Is my data safe?

You connect with your HappyScribe account through a secure sign-in. Your assistant only sees the workspace you connect, and only what you can already see in HappyScribe. You can disconnect at any time from your assistant's settings. HappyScribe is European and GDPR-native.
