Can HappyScribe produce verbatim transcripts for qualitative research?
Yes. Toggle verbatim mode to keep every filler, repetition, and pause for discourse analysis or coding. Toggle cleaned-up mode to strip them out for publication. Both versions come from the same audio file, so you never re-upload, and speaker labels and timestamps are preserved across formats.
How does HappyScribe handle interviewer vs interviewee labeling?
Speakers are detected automatically and labeled Speaker 1, Speaker 2, and so on. Rename them before export, for example "Moderator" and "P04," so your transcript lands in NVivo or Dovetail already coded. Renamed labels carry through to SRT and VTT exports, and panel interviews with 3 or 4 voices stay consistent across the full session.
